he is really ticklish and he is so silly about it

hes such a switch like. he doesnt mind being tickled at all i bet he probs loves the attention LOL but he LOVES tickling other bots like d-16 hehe

he's veeery tickly under his arms ESPECIALLY if you get the seams that connect his arm to his torso that will make him scream. get him there

hes ticklish in most of the normal cybertronian tickle spots as well (dont ask me what those are. they are up to interpretation!) but i think hes also got a pretty sensitive chassis (tummy...) and if you get the little seams that go across his chassis he will be GONEE

for a week after orion learned what the word "speedrun" meant he tried different speedrun challenges with d-16 (how fast can i make him mention megatronus prime, etc.) and one of the days was "how fast can i make d-16 snort"

d-16 has never tried to tickle elita and does not plan to. he will make fun of orion's attempt but he knows better

i think d-16 was also the first one of the gang to give bee a little tickle!!! got him giggling and actually got him to stop yapping a lil bit hehe but it was fun for everyone

bee is almost as ticklish as d-16 but had absolutely no idea until he met orion, d-16, and elita. zero clue.

soap fucking inhales the drink. its genuinely concerning, to say the very least. he seems to like.. unhinge his jaw like some kind of snake, and then inhales the whole drink in what you think is a millisecond. and since he's the only scotsman on the team- thinks the whole 'tea n biscuits' ritual his colleagues have is utter stupidity, so not only does he now FREQUENTLY drink boba because he likes it- he also drinks out of utter spite.

gaz is the only one with a seemingly respectable opinion about boba, unfortunately. he's had it before, multiple times- it appeals to his sweet tooth and is the occasional treat after long missions. but unlike you, gaz does not value peace, and seems to keep egging soap on in chugging unreasonable amounts of the drink. (and he doesnt mention it, as he does not want to face the same punishment as you did, but he thinks that bubble tea is sometimes, just sometimes better than his cuppa.)

(Im so sorry this got so long, but i got emotional while writing it so please bear with me, read this like its the morning paper while u eat breakfast or something i have alot to say)

Before I go into the things I didn't like I do want to focus on some positives.

-Like I said in an earlier post, Geoff's acting…he absolutely killed it, and maybe this is because I'm a little bit Geoff/Grif biased but he was giving so much emotion and everyone else felt a little bit flat. Also only he could have delivered the "Come with me" line with so much Homoeroticism -I Had a pretty fun time watching the fight in the second half, The references to Monty we're sweet and getting to see Tex and Carolina fight together was pretty epic! -A good handful of jokes got me good. "23rd in my class" Shelia translating Caboose's Spanish to Lopez

Ok……. the next bit of this will get a little bit negative, but I do want to say this is coming from a place of deep love and care for this series. I have run this blog for like 6/7 years now and I've been a fan of this show for double that. My biggest fear is that fans get the same treatment we did when no one liked RVBZero. I have criticisms. This is a 21 year old series that so many people have had a part in and so many have loved. I was not looking for perfection, I wasn't even looking for something good. I was looking for an ending to the stories of characters people have held in their hearts for 21 years. Unfortunately, what I feel we were left with was a hastily thrown together hour of basically nothing.

-Why weren't they friends…..Why weren't they friends…No one cared for the others. I understand that we have semi warped perceptions of the characters from fanon works and things of that nature. But even in canon, the reds and blue care about each other. On their own team and the other team. Simmons, Grif, Tucker, and Caboose spent MONTHS together in chorus and same for Donut/Sarge/Wash. I've recently rewatched blood gulch and Caboose and Sarge have a great dynamic! Tucker and Grif canonically get along pretty well. Simmons was ON BLUE TEAM for like a hot minute there. THEY KNOW EACH OTHER AND CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER. This was zero percent present in this film. No one had any motivation to look for Tucker. No one cared that it was Tuckers body inside the suit. THE REDS LEFT CABOOSE FOR DEAD!!!!!! THEY JUST LEFT HIM!!!!

-Tucker, I'm so sorry baby girl, this was supposed to be your arc, your moment. You were hardly in it. No build up to how he became the Meta. The scene where he breaks out of it to not kill caboose was the best part of the arc. And he just wakes up and remembers it "like someone elses Nightmare??" ok sure

-Wash………………WHAT THE FUCK???? WHAT THE FUCK???????????????? WHAT THE FUCK??????? WHAT THE FUCK???? TO RUIN THIS MANS ENTIRE CHARACTER ARC BY MAKING HIM COMPLETELY OBSOLETE. PUTTING HIM IN SOME RANDOM HOSPITAL FOR AN UNKNOWN INJURY THAT HAPPENS OFF SCREEN AND ISN'T EXPLAINED. HAVE HIM HALUCINATING DOC FOR SOME FUCKING REASON. HAVE HIM SHOW UP TO THE FINAL BATTLE AND DO ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING BUT JUMP OFF A FUCKING CLIFF AND NOT SAY A WORD TO ANY OF THE RED AND BLUES I AM LIERALLY ABOUT TO FUCKING CRY TYPING THIS I AM LITERALLY SO FUCKING PISSED OFF. AGENT WASHINGTON, THE CHARACTER THAT WAS SO HAPPY IN THE SEASON RIGHT BEFORE CHORUS JUST TO BE ON BLUE TEAM AND HAVE A FUCKING FAMILY AGAIN. JUST SIDELINE HIM FOR NO FUCKING REASON AND THEN NOT LET HIM SPEAK TO ANY OF HIS FRIENDS EXCEPT CAROLINA AND DEAD DOC. to me, most of my pain is based on (just like u said) the fact that i think he's hard on himself, and wants to prove so much after everything that has happened. i just hope he sees the reality; that he's doing super well, in his rookie season nonetheless, and we're all so proud of him. mistakes is okay, shit happens, even max verstappen made a bunch of mistakes yesterday!!

i didnt wanna look at the clips of him in the car nor hear his radio (ive seen the screenshot of him admitting that it was his fault tho) and i saw the clip of him after getting out of the car and i just...... nope. and esp w kimi winning aaaa it made me so happy but-

god i dont understand the penalties like. yes he made a mistake but zane was also going very very slow (on the slower tyres also) so it was hard for him to tell what zane was going to do. like these things happen within even a fraction of a second and you need to trust your instinct and sometimes it doesn't work out? like obvs i cant compare it to any personal experiences in racing but in my own sport i know the feeling of getting a bad pass etc, and something tiny can mess up the entire timing and feeling and everything? so zane just going slower makes a lot of difference :// it's not common that they do this but ive seen it sometimes but this is just so.... gAH!! esp with the thing with ollie because they didn't even show it, so it can't have been THAT important, right?? so stupid

the thing about liking an almost 30 year old show is I'm not sure as much about what went on behind the scenes. and a significant part of that is how awesome it was that the fans were just more separate from creators then, like there was no social media and junk for us to to badger them on about things. but the from their side there wasnt a place they could just dump shit on us for fun. things were told through dvd commentaries and magazines published back then or panels and stuff at conventions or even TV specials and those are all very... ephemeral. like I'm sure its all recorded somewhere but it takes a little more digging and hoping fan websites have the info. and thats doable I'm not asking anyone to help me with that btw i just havent done it yet cause i wanna get thru the show first or I'll have one billion spoilers from not being able to stop reading.

but i think the biggest thing for me rn on stargate is, again i watched atlantis first. and that started in and branched off of like season 8 of sg1. so i know a lot about The Ancients, since they were a big player in SGA, and every time something tangenally related to them comes up in SG1 i get super excited and wave my arms and jump up and down for Daniels attention cause i want him to discover Atlantis so bad. im so excited for him and oh god he has his earpods in he cant hear me-

anyways. connecting these two points..... i have to wonder watching things progress how much they planned ahead. how much did they set up like "... yeah we'll decide to make something of that later" and how much of it was "oh dude the fans are gonna FLIP when we make this reveal in two seasons" you know????? i can listen to stuff about gravity falls when hirch and co talk about how they had no idea where they were going. they were like "well he has a twin somewhere. for some reason. and hes..... well hes there." and they literally came up with the everything on the fly. and then even in Gargoyles, which is old like stargate too, i read apparently the writers called each other once like "WAIT HEY THIS CHARACTER FROM THE VERY BEGINNING FIRST EPISODE? HOLY SHIT WHAT IF HE WAS THIS GUY-" sort of twist like.... way into the show lol

was that what was going on with The Ancients? and their whole..... ascended business? Orlin in this episode was very interesting cause i definitely recognized Oma D from a while back as an ancient, so i was glad Sam compared Orlin to her, but this was the first time theyre REALLY like "yup, that monk and myths of the jaffa werent just talk. this ascension biz is for real and a bigger deal than you thought" BUT! they still havent really connected it to the ancients. at all. i dont think daniel even said the writing on the machine Orlin helped build was ancient, and it didn't look like it, but then like.... Orlin also just said he was Human.

and was that true? WAS he human? humans can ascended, sure. but he also made a freakin stargate. in sam's basement. (Obadiah Stane voice) WITH A BUNCH OF SCRAPS!

... he already was the cause of death for people he cared about once for giving away too much information, i wouldnt be surprised if he lied about being human. but also wouldnt be surprised if the writers were like..... unsure and didnt care cause it doesnt matter lmao they were just vibing. you know. idk im sure Orlin and even Oma will get brought up AGAIN later, im only in the beginnings of season 5 after all and know some spoilers that the ascension thing ans ancients become a big deal later but. yeah its just interesting. i like picking apart creators minds for their stories and its just not possible in the same way on such an old show. even if i could ask them, they'd be having to recall through decades of memories that change as they have over the years. and that provides an interesting color on things as well but... its not the same as knowing what they were thinking back then.

Niki was in fact not fine. She was thinking about how she was going to handle this situation with jungwon. She didn't want to come off aggressive because what if he thought she didn't trust him then that would lead to other things. Jungwon was known to be really sensitive about topics that obtained him talking about past relationships so niki never pressed him on. Until she heard Xoe. Xoe was jungwons longest relationship that started all the way in middle school until they broke up at the start of highschool. It was a mess too.

Jungwon broke up with Xoe; saying he didn't love her anymore and he didn't think it would be fair for the both of them to be in a one sided relationship. But he still wanted to be friends And Xoe didn't take it well. At all. They apparently had a screaming match in the hallway and everyone watched it. She accused Jungwon of cheating and saying he never loved her and that made Jungwon heated. They exchanged words that resulted in Xoe slapping Jungwon and walking away from him. From that day on they never talked again.

Niki couldn't concentrate on the game while all these thoughts were running through her mind, but y/n was invested in the game. Yelling with the crowd at every goal and even screaming at the referee when they gave sunoo a yellow card. Jake could hear her all the way from the field screaming his name and it made him want to score a point every time he got the ball.

Jay passed Jake the ball as they were running up the field and he could hear you screaming his name as he was going around the other players and knocking some down. He felt like he was flying until the ball was taken from him. Out of confusion he stopped moving for a millisecond until he saw the number 10 running up the field with the ball the same direction he was. Jeno. he kicked the ball and made it into the goal and the crowd went wild. But Jake was fuming. Jeno was high fiving his teammates and Jake was glaring at him as he walked past him. “That was my goal.” Jeno just smirked at him. “Yeah I know but we can't let you hog all the spotlight.” Jeno looked up at the stands smiling. Jake looked over his shoulder and saw you holding a sign that said “ IM #10 BIGGEST FAN GO JENO” in glittery letters. You were smiling jumping up and down. Jeno walked closer to Jake “ dont forget your place I was hers first.” he bumped his shoulder walking to the benches jake clenched his fist

“Hey man, what the hell was that?” Jay said running over to him with his arm out pointing to the goal but Jake just walked past him mummering nothing. Jake was going to get his goal back. No matter what.

Jungwon was looking up at the crowd looking for Niki hoping to see his girlfriend jumping up and down for him but instead he saw her sitting. Why was she sitting? She never sat at one of his games. Like ever. Concern washed over his face as he watched her. He knew he wouldn't be able to focus all the way without knowing what was wrong with her.

Jake was going hard on the field harder than he's ever gone. Jake was going to get that goal and that opportunity showed itself and best believe Jake took it. Kicked the ball as hard as he could making it into the goal and his team went crazy. He immediately looked for you in the crowd and you were smiling and waving . He blew a kiss at you yelling how he made the goal for you and how it would be the first of many. And he wasn't lying. In the span of 10 minutes jake made 3 goals. That goofy smile was stuck on his face as make hand hearts and kisses at you after every goal. He was definitely going to get a kiss after the game from you. Jeno was fuming watching you smile at him all lovingly it made him sick. You were supposed to be smiling at him like that, not Jake sim. Jake had the ball again but Jeno wasn't going to let him get this one. Jeno watched Jake run up the field towards the goal and ran towards another player from the opposite team acting like he was going to shove him but instead Jeno slid knocking into Jake causing both boys to collide hitting the ground. The ball was wicked out of bounce and the crows collectively gasped. You rose to your feet holding onto the rail in front of you trying to see if anyone was hurt. Jeno was the first one to get and Jake followed after him but you spoke too soon seeing Jake shove Jeno hard making the boy falter backwards. Niki was finally up on her feet beside you watching the boys exchange shoves until some teammates pulled them apart leading them in different directions. “ What the heck just happened.” niki said looking at me then back at the field. “ I have no idea.” jake was taken to the locker room while Jeno was sitting on the benches getting yelled at by their coach but you could tell her wasn't listening

“I'm gonna go check on jake.” I said , grabbing my purse rushing past the crowd of people on the bleachers. I made it to the back rushing to the locker room that was just around the corner past the food vendors. I turned quickly knocking into someone causing them to drop the drink in their hand. Why was I knocking into so many people today? “ watch where you're going.” the voice said, picking the cup off the ground as you grabbed it at the same time. Then I noticed the rose gold cartier bracelet wrapped around her wrist. Looked up at her and my heart dropped into my stomach. It was Tejiri. She looked me in the eye and smirked at me rising to her feet and I shot to mine grabbing the strap of my purse in my hand clenching it. “Oh wow how ironic this is.” she said, looking me up and down.” just the person i wanted to talk to.” Where was Amilla when I wanted her to intervene? “ your y/n right.” I nodded and she smiled. “ You're very pretty.” I was flattered at her words, surprised that those words would come from her. “T-thank you.” “ but not as pretty as me.” my eyes widened in shock. “I mean don't get me wrong you definitely beat the others he was with after me, but i guess after we broke up his taste changed-” she tilted her head. “ drastically.” the smirk grew on her face as my smile dropped. She walked closer to me.

“ oh don't look to0 shock jake always goes for personality i guess.'' I dug my nails into my purse strap in anger. “ I guess you're on your way to the locker room to go check on him after what happened, how caring of you. But let me let you in on a little secret.'' She bent down to make eye contact with me and her gaze was very intimidating. “ Jake isn't who you think he is. He holds all his feelings and never wants to tell you how he's feeling in a certain moment so sometimes you have to pull it out of him forcefully. That's just the person he is. So I want you to try something for me.” I gulped, praying she couldn't hear me. “ when you guys are on one of your little dates at the park or that stupid pancake place he loves so much.” my breath hitched at the mention of the pancake spot and my Tejiri smile grew even more. “ I want you to think of me. I want you to think about everything i told you today and put all that into consideration on if you want to be with jake.” her smile dropped into a serious face. The air around me was getting hard to swallow

“ I'm only trying to help you. Jake is known to ruin lives. I just don't want him to ruin yours like he did everyone else's.” she pouted, rising up to her full height. She threw the empty cup in the trash. “ Now run along, you dont wanna keep Jake waiting hes pretty hot headed when he gets worked up like this. Could never calm him down.” she smirked turning around and walking away.

It took everything in you not to get angry or do anything stupid, but apart of you kept replaying what she said played in your mind. Both what Tejiri and Amilia said were damaging.

Jake was in the locker room slamming his fist into the locker repeatedly putting a dent into it

" fuck." He looked at his knuckles. Heesueng was definitely going to chew him out for ruing school property and for losing his temper.

He didn't know why jeno made him so angry usually he would be able to walk away for things like this but something changed he just didn't know what.

"Jake, are you in here?" He quickly wrapped a small towel around his knuckle and stood up in front of the locker to hide it from your eyes. He heard your footsteps coming and within seconds you were in front of him.

My eyes scanned him to matke sure he was okay. After that display on the field, everyone would be talking about it. My eyes glanced around the room; the landed on the slightly dented locker Jake was standing in front of. Tilting my head to side to get a better look, I saw his fist wrapped up. “Jake, what happened?” I asked worriedly. He slowly backed away as I inched closer to him.

“Does it hurt?” I asked as his back came in contact with the cold surface of the locker. He nodded looking down at fist. Jake was turn inside himself, there was a lot of confusion. The moment you held up that sign with Jeno’s name, it hurt him a little. He wanted to be the only you supported, that you were there for him.

“I’m going to see if Niki has an ice pack okay?”, I said as I started turning to leave. Until, I felt him grab my arm. Stopping my movement, “Do you have feelings for Jeno?”, He whispered, but it was still loud enough for you to hear. You froze in your position before slowly turning to face him. His eyes glued to you, searching your face for any sign of expression.

“What? Why would you ask that?”, I questioned him. My stomach turned at the sudden question. At one point I did but I don’t have feelings for Jeno. I think. “The sign”, he muttered.

“I was just being a supportive friend”, I stated, as I felt the warmth from his grip spread throughout my body. “You’re the only one” I took a deep breath as my eyes met his, “I have feelings for”. I said the last part quietly, too afraid of exposing myself.

He pulled me closer to him, my body was now pressed against his which was leaning on the locker. His good arm slowly worked its way around my waist, “So may I?” he asked, inching his face closer to mine.

Our faces were so close, I felt his warm breath on my face. “Yes,” I whispered. His lips brushed against mine, sending waves through my body as he kissed me. It was a kiss sweeter than sugar, I wanted to stay in that moment forever. His lips were soft and felt good against mine.

He turned and gently pushed me into the lockers.

I wrapped my arms around his neck deepening the kiss. He smiled into the kiss “someone's eager.” I pulled away from him pouting a little and he rubbed my bottom lip with his thumb staring down at me. His eyes darkened. “ I didn't say stop.” he leaned down to connect our lips again. “ Jake hyung, are you here?”

He groaned, rolling his eyes. “ this better not become a habit.”he said under his breath, moving away from me. “ Jake i've been looking for you ever-” heeseung stopped when he saw me on the locker and jake standing in front of me. “Oh, am I interrupting something?” Jake glared at him mouthing something but heeseung just swatted him off. “I don't really care Jake, they want you back on the field.” he nodded, then looked at me kissing my cheek slowly then looking at me smiling. “ I'll see you after the game, okay, we can go get food after.” i nodded and he kissed my hand walking towards heeseung.

The game was finally over and the boys were on the field celebrating their win even after the incident that happened. Niki rushed to the ground hugging jungwon as i waited for jay at the gate patiently. Asi waited i saw Tejiri walking towards the exit looking back at me and smirking disappearing into the crowd. “y/n” i looked and jeno was walking towards me with his duffle over his shoulder. He went in for a hug but i slapped the back of his head.

“ owww what did i do.” i crossed my arms looking up at him. “ oh i dont know maybe fight your own team mate.” he sucked his teeth rolling his eyes. “Hey he started it first he should be the one getting hit not me.” i smirked.”dont worry i already handled that but i expected more from you jeno.” he nodded “yeah i guess my temper got the best of me today.” he looked down at the poster i was holding and he grabbed it from me. “Ohhh i see you made the poster i could see it all the way from the field.” he smiled and my heart pinged. I always did like Jeno’s smile.

It was bright and pretty, it was comforting on the days I was sad, “If you start another fight, I’ll stop making you posters”, he laughed “I’m serious Jeno”. He huffed. " Okay okay I'm sorry." I smiled ruffling his hair." Okay so where are we going to eat I'm starving." He asked I widened my eyes. " oh my gosh jeno I'm so sorry I totally forgot about after game dinner." He shrugged. " it's fine no worries we can just go to the dinner down the street." He grabbed my hand walking towards the exit but stopped when I didn't move. " no jeno I kind told jake I would get dinner with him tonight."

Jeno's face fell clenching his jaw." What." I bit my lip. " I'm sorry it's my fault I should of asked you if you wanted to eat after." He rolled his eyes looking at the sky. " are you upset?" His chest moved up showing he was breathing and he looked down at me and smiled. " don't worry about it, we can just get dinner another time." He was trying his best not to lose his temper again like he did on the field already. This Jake guy was really messing with him. And he couldn't have that happen daily." No, this is our ritual. I'll just cancel on jake." Jeno bit back a smile. " what no I wouldn't want you to do that." You shook your head. " what no it's fine I've been hanging out with jake all week he'll understand."

Jeno nodded" Okay well since you insist." You told him you would meet him by his car in 20 minutes and that you had to say bye to jake. You went to find Jake and he was changing his shoes putting his cleats in his duffle. "Hey." He looked up at me. " hey I was wondering where you were." He hopped up hugging me. " Yeah sorry." He pulled away smiling at me grabbing his duffle."Come on I'm hungry." I winced and he looked back at me frowning his eyebrows. "What's wrong?" "I sorta made plans already and forgot about them. Can we rain check?" he frowned. “ oh yeah sure ill just go to dinner with the boys no problem.” i smiled pecking his lips.” thank you i promise i'll make it up to you.``i hugged him and ran off waving bye.

Jake sighed kicking the grass at his feet watching you walk towards the gate.” Jake come on were going to hotpot. Riki yelled waving his friend over. Jake threw his bag over his shoulder walking to his friends. “Wheres y/n is she not coming with us.” sunoo pouted jake shook his head telling them she had plans already.”wheres jungwon.” i asked looking around for him. “Oh he when to look for niki he said theyll meet us there now lets go its almost 10.” riki ran towards the exit and we followed him .” hey i saw y/n talking to jeno is everything okay between you too.” jake looked at sunghoon with hs eyes brows frowned. “ yeah why wouldnt they be.” “um you kinda did push around her besfriend.” jake laughed. “ it was jus a little disagreement okay and y/n can talk to whoever she wants to”.

Deep down inside Jake did feel a little hurt that you decided to go with Jeno, but after the kiss; he was feeling more secure. I glanced around looking for Niki, everyone was waiting for her and Jungwon. I wanted to talk to her before I left with Jeno. “Are you ready to go?”, He asked as he adjusted the duffle bag on his shoulder. “Uh yea one sec”. My eyes widened as I noticed Niki spawn out of nowhere, and as usual Jungwon glued to her.

“Babe listen to me”, Won whispered, taking her hand into his, “Don’t let her get to you. She always does this-”. Niki was frustrated and tired of thing happening. “When will she leave you alone? When is she going to stop bothering us?”. Won’s heart cracked a little as he saw her fight back tears as they got closer to their friends. “I promise you babe, This is the last time”, he said. Won wasn’t one to get angry, but messing with his relationship was were he drew the line

There was some tension between the two as they approached me, It was unsettling. Niki and Jungwon were the perfect couple, I’ve never seen them like this. Is this why Niki was acting weird during the game? I thought to myself. “We’re going to go home” Won said looking at Niki for confirmation, in which she nodded. I wanted to ask if she was okay but Ithought it was better to give them a moment. “Uh yea That’s okay”, I smiled. “I’ll call you later”, she said as she took Won’s hand and began to walk away.

I whipped out my phone; quickly sending a message to soccer group chat telling them the situation. “We need to get going”, Jeno’s voices rang in your ear. “Okay, let’s go”, I stated as I saw Jake’s respond to my message with cute little hearts at the end.

Maybe tejiri was wrong and everything will work out in my favor.

this causes you and him to be at the sidelines a lot

he would tell you what he thinks would happen next or what the next plan should be and you would provide your own input

in a way, he was the one who really taught you the mechanics of volleyball and he would tell you the different tricks that techniques that the twins came up with 

what makes you really soft and fall for him is when he starts to compliment his players

his pride in aran for being one of the top aces that has led them to nationals

his pride in mimi for being able to go on the longest on court and not be tired

his pride on akagi for being able to receive each ball and successfully give it to their setter

his pride on hitoshi for being the one who could handle the team personality wise and his plans for him to be his successor

i actually don't have an opinion on either, so i'm curious: what do you hate about youtooz? (the price is way too much though i agree)

ok. so. first things first the REASON i compare these two series, and i believe it IS a fair comparison, is that they both serve the same role in their respective merchandising niches: a brand with a certain style that most figures conform to that is famous (or rather, notorious) for covering ridiculous amounts of media and their style being... well, depends who you ask. its just that funko pop covers mainstream media most of the time, basically anything that a big company can fund, whereas youtooz is for internet icons and independent creators 

and the BIGGEST point is the price point. 

so just using pops official website and my own personal knowledge as a jumping off platform, i know that the whole reason pops are so simplistic and accessible is because they’re meant to be easily accessible collectibles for the mainstream audience! theyre supposed to be neat little collectibles that are easy to get and easy to produce (which is how they maintain the price) 

the price here says these star trek funko pops are 11 bucks, and just from personal experience ive seen pops go for anywhere from 9 bucks to 15 bucks, with some really common pops even making their way to the dollar store! so if youre a fan of star trek who doesnt have CRAZY disposable income and you just wanna nab a spock, hey. there you go. 

now, vaulted pops and chase variants (basically pops that arent currently being restocked in stores, and rarer simple variants to already made models ie. gold mario) rack up a lot of money on auction sites, but this happens with literally every figure and limited item so its really not like, a pop problem. imo their goal of being simple, accessible collectibles for anyone to collect and enjoy WORKS.

now here ive got some figures from youtooz and- HUH. LOOK AT THAT. 30 US DOLLARS. (again, even more for me in canada!) now, i know that its not TOTALLY ridiculous bc even though theyre around the same height, funko pops have more hollow plastic and theres probably more complex designs but the REASON i do not think that these are worth as much as they are is because

2. THEY ARE UGLY. 

ive done a little sketch here trying to analyze the sort of design philosphies of the ‘pop style’ and the ‘youtooz style’ and i think both have their ups and downs.

i will give youtooz the point for the dynamic poses theyre usually in, as that usually makes the figure a lot more interesting, which you REALLY need if your figure has absolutely no articulation

look at the youtooz charlie brown doing a baseball- hes in the middle of an action pose, and it has a GREAT silhouette. 10/10 posing. some of the youtooz posing really fucking sucks but overall its got better pose quality 

but a lot of pops are Just Standing There. 

BUT overall i think funko pop has the stronger style. funko pop’s style has a REASON to be the way it is. why? because many of the first pop lines were just one in dozens and hundreds of already existing toy lines! so it needs a distinct style to not only give credence to a ‘collection’ mentality, but also distinguishing them from other lines of the same brand

like, there are so many different c-3pos out there, so i KNOW im getting a funko pop c-3po bc like. look at him. 

so then, i ask you, WHY does youtooz need a ‘unifying style’? why do internet creators need to conform to this style? because both the reasons i listed above just, do not apply here! one, these are often the ONLY figures made for these creators, and two, there is NOBODY who is collecting youtooz. the point of youtooz is that there are LIMITED DROPS, targeted SPECIFICALLY at fans of THAT creator. which is why they announce it on their channel! so theres no NEED to use this ugly UGLY style! and yet they do!!!

another thing the youtooz style sucks ass with is, like, the default expression. for funko pops, the default expression is usually a neutral, which SOME say is creepy or offputting but IMO. its like, a blank slate. a resting natural that could be anything and that works as these figures dont exist IN motion. look at hello kitty! she doesnt have a mouth and its used to her advantage 

but the closed eyes just fucking- its CONFUSING. especially in an expression thats not all smiley. its a confusing expression and usually a closed-eyes emotion isnt something that... stays on the face for that long? ik its a stylization choice but i dont LIKE it. theres no point of eye contact here. the posture suggests theyre looking SOMEwhere, like this rando throwing a thumbs up to the ‘viewer’ but his eyes are closed

AND THREE i just think funko pop does... ‘compromise’ better. so compromise is like, when something just WILL NOT FIT in your style. even if the reason for having that style is STUPID. funko pop has a better track record with bringing that style into synthesis with their own. yeah yeah you can strawman that fucking dory pop all you want but listen. there are GOOD EXAMPLES of this. 

look at this peashooter! hes adorable!! and the funko nose and lack of mouth get broken here. but LOOK HES SO CUTE

this pvz zombie breaks EVERY rule of the design. a non-standard nose, a body not smaller than the head, eyes that arent all black, MOUTH. but like. look at him! you know its a funko pop anyways bc its a small cute version of the zombie!!

now lets see how YOUTOOZ compromises. 

oh- oh wow. so uh, you saw a character whose big eyes are CRUCIAL to their design and instead of going ‘i know ill make the closed eyes bigger’ you go HMM LETS MAKE THE CLOSED EYES THE PUPILS’. wow. thats- okay.

tldr youtooz sucks and if it should exist it shouldnt force every figure to be the same stupid style. also who wants to pay for memes.

Miss. Jenn why. You’re stressed about the show, but you’re not performing it. They are. They have to worry about lines and cues and pitches, not you. Miss. Jenn has literally gone at the kids this season. Opening night speech too Ash and Ricky, shutting Seb down, that comment. She has become obsessed with the Menkies and North High. It has gotten really bad. These kids have put everything into this show, even their relationships (both platonic and romantic) and that is how you repay them? 

I didn’t think they would address this, I lost hope after last week but I am so glad they’re going too.

Someone send Seb after Miss. Jenn please, let him rip into her, he would do very well.

Miss. Jenn is supposed to be the role model and she just told a kid to jump off something high.

nina has been a godsend this episode, props to her!

haven’t been the biggest nini fan this season (off and on for me), but she was very behaved this episode. 

if there is anything the east high kids are good at, it’s bullshitting their way out.

I liked the episode. Didn’t love it, but liked it. I really wish we got to see more acting, like we didn’t even see Big Red and E.J go on stage. Not even the iconic yellow dress. Some of the drama is so unnecessary, like why Mike and Jenn? What is with the Kourtney and Howie drama the writers insist on having, can’t they just be happy?

Besides the whole harness incident (burn that harness and mask it is causing so many problems) the production went very well, too well. This is East High we’re talking about.
