╰┈➤ Chan
Tries to be the mature one, but it kills him inside. He tells himself that as long as you’re happy, he should be happy too…but it doesn’t stop the ache in his chest every time you pull away.
Overthinks everything. Did he say something wrong? Did he do something to make you uncomfortable? He replays every conversation in his head, searching for a reason why you’re slipping away.
Still checks up on you, even when you don’t respond right away. Sends casual “Hope you’re doing okay” texts or reminds you to eat and rest..because no matter how much it hurts, he can’t stop caring about you.
Pretends to be fine around the others, but they can tell. He still smiles, still jokes around, but his energy is off. The sparkle in his eyes when he talks about you? Gone.
Tries to convince himself that he’s just your friend…but jealousy betrays him. Seeing you with someone else makes his stomach twist in ways he hates. He laughs it off, but deep down, he’s unraveling.
"Right. I get it." His voice is calm, but there’s an edge to it, something almost bitter. You’ve known him long enough to recognize when he’s holding back.
"You’re happy with them, huh?" He lets out a dry chuckle, running a hand through his hair. "That’s good. That’s… that’s what I wanted for you."
You open your mouth to respond, but he exhales sharply, shaking his head.
"No, actually….screw that." He suddenly looks at you, and for the first time, you see it. The frustration. The heartbreak. The feelings he’s been shoving down for who knows how long.
"I hate this," he admits, voice quieter now. "I hate watching you slip away because of some guy...do you even realize how much I care about you?"
He lets out a soft, bitter laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I thought we had something. And maybe that was just me being stupid, maybe I was reading too much into things—but I…" He stops himself, lips pressing into a thin line.
Then, barely above a whisper—
"I was supposed to be the one making you smile like that."
Tumblr media
╰┈➤ Minho
Acts like he doesn’t care…but he definitely cares. At first, he just observes, waiting to see if you’ll come back on your own. But when you keep pulling away, he starts getting annoyed.
Gets passive-aggressive. His usual teasing turns sharper. If you cancel plans, he just shrugs and says, “Figured you’d be too busy anyway.”
Refuses to ask what’s wrong. He’s stubborn. If you want to push him away, fine. He won’t beg for your attention—but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt.
His eyes always give him away. Even when he plays it cool, you can see the way his gaze lingers, the way his expression darkens whenever your S/O is mentioned.
Starts distancing himself before you can fully leave him behind. If you don’t need him anymore, then maybe it’s easier if he’s the one to walk away first.
Finally snaps when he catches you avoiding him. If you won’t give him an explanation, he’ll demand one.
"So, am I just not important to you anymore?" The words hit you like a slap, and when you turn to face him, he is standing there,arms crossed, face blank, but eyes burning.
"Because that’s what it feels like," he continues, voice quieter but laced with frustration. "One second, we’re fine. And then suddenly, you’re too busy, too distant....too… gone."
You stammer, trying to explain, but he lets out a sharp laugh, shaking his head.
"Yeah, whatever. You’ve got someone better now, right?"
His tone is mocking, but there’s a crack in it...just enough to betray him. Just enough to show that this isn’t just annoyance.
It’s hurt.
He turns to leave, but then
He stops. His fists clench at his sides. He doesn’t face you when he speaks next, voice barely above a whisper.
"I liked you first."
Your breath catches.
"You know that, right?" he finally looks at you, expression unreadable but eyes raw with emotion. "I’ve liked you for so long, but I waited. I waited because I thought… I thought maybe you’d see me, too."
A pause. A breath. Then—
"And now, I have to sit here and watch someone else have you?"
His voice is tight, controlled, but the pain is there. He takes a step back, shaking his head, his usual confidence gone.
"Forget it."
Tumblr media
╰┈➤ Changbin
At first, he doesn’t take it seriously. He jokes around, playfully whining about how you’re ditching him for your “new best friend.” But when he realizes it’s not a phase, his smile starts feeling forced.
Keeps trying to reach out. Sends you funny memes, random gym updates, or voice notes just to see if you’ll respond like you used to. When you don’t? Yeah, it stings.
Overcompensates by acting louder and happier around others. He hates feeling like the sad, jealous guy, so he pretends it doesn’t bother him. But his jokes get a little sharper, his laughs a little less genuine.
Starts working out even more. If he can’t control the way you’re slipping away, at least he can control something. He pushes himself harder at the gym, but no amount of training can distract him from missing you.
Gets mad at himself for feeling jealous. He tells himself he should just be happy for you...but the thought of someone else being the reason for your smile makes his stomach churn.
"Are you serious right now?"
His voice is sharp, frustrated.
"I get it, okay? You have someone new in your life. That’s great. But does that mean I just—what? Stop existing?"
You open your mouth to explain, but he doesn’t let you.
"Do you know how stupid I’ve felt? Sitting here, waiting for you to text back, waiting for you to just—acknowledge me?" He lets out a bitter chuckle, shaking his head. "I’ve never had to fight this hard just to talk to you." He sighs.
"And I hate that I’m jealous." The words come out softer, but they hit harder. His jaw clenches, and for once, Changbin looks uncertain.
"I hate that I care this much. That every time you talk about them, I feel like I’m losing you a little more." He swallows hard, eyes meeting to yours.
"I wanted to be the one you looked at like that." He runs a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply.
"Forget it. Just… just tell me one thing.." his voice wavers, but he keeps going, "Did I ever even have a chance?"
Tumblr media
╰┈➤ Hyunjin
At first, he pretends it doesn’t bother him. He convinces himself you’re just busy and that things will go back to normal soon. But as days turn into weeks, the distance between you feels crushing.
Becomes unusually quiet around you. He still smiles, still laughs, but there’s a hesitation now. A pause before he speaks, like he’s choosing his words carefully...afraid of saying something he can’t take back.
Starts expressing his emotions through art instead. If you won’t talk to him, his sketchbook becomes his outlet. Page after page filled with drawings of you, his way of holding on when he feels like he’s losing you.
Acts like he’s fine, but his eyes give him away. Whenever you mention your S/O, his eyes tell you everything you need to know....sadness, frustration, something he doesn’t want you to see.
Becomes distant, too—but not because he wants to. If you don’t need him anymore, maybe it’s better if he stops clinging. But every time he tries to walk away, he finds himself waiting. Hoping.
"Just tell me what I did wrong."
His voice is quiet but firm, and when you finally look at him, Hyunjin’s expression is unreadable...except for his eyes. His eyes are full of everything.
"Because I don’t get it," he continues, laughing bitterly. "We were fine, and then suddenly, you’re too busy, like I don’t even exist to you anymore."
You shift uncomfortably, but he steps closer, shaking his head.
"You don’t even look at me the same."
His voice wavers, and for the first time, you see it..The vulnerability, the pain he’s been trying so hard to hide.
"I should be happy for you," he admits, exhaling shakily. "I tried to be happy for you." He lets out a dry chuckle, running a hand through his hair. "But every time I see you with them, I just—"
He stops himself, his lips pressing into a thin line. His fingers twitch at his sides like he wants to reach for you, but he doesn’t. Instead, he lets out a slow breath, taking a step back.
"I guess that was never an option, was it?"

Hi! I love that you're back here on Tumblr writing. oh, I came to request a Bakugou x reader. She is a celebrity (I leave it up to you what kind of celebrity) and Bakugou is a prohero! They want to blackmail him into doing something to his beloved famous girlfriend. Angst is fine but with a happy ending I have no complaints, thanks u guurl 🙇🏼‍♀️❤️
author's note: Thank you <3
Scandal and Smoke
You always knew dating a pro hero came with risks. Paparazzi swarmed like vultures, tabloids twisted every glance, and the constant scrutiny of your every move never let up. But you could handle that. You were used to it—fame had clung to you like a second skin since you were sixteen.
What you weren’t prepared for was the darkness that came with it.
Katsuki Bakugou, Pro Hero Dynamight, had always been fiercely protective. He didn’t tolerate anyone looking at you wrong, let alone threatening you. But this time, it was different. This time, the threat wasn’t just some faceless internet troll or a rogue villain looking for leverage.
This time, it was someone with power. Someone who had something on him.
It started with a phone call in the middle of the night. You barely stirred when he slipped out of bed to answer it, his voice a low, dangerous growl. You recognized that tone—it was the one he used when something was wrong.
When he returned, his jaw was set in a hard line, tension rolling off him in waves.
“Katsuki?” you murmured, rubbing sleep from your eyes. “What’s wrong?”
He hesitated for half a second—longer than usual. Then he forced a scoff. “Nothin’. Just work shit. Go back to sleep.”
But you knew him too well. And you knew a lie when you heard one.
Days passed, and Katsuki wasn’t himself. He was distracted, irritable, pulling away from you in ways he never had before. He stopped kissing you before he left for patrol. Stopped calling you in between missions. When you tried to touch him, he flinched—like he was afraid of what would happen if he let himself get close.
Then came the first message.
A sleek black envelope, slipped under his agency’s door. Inside: a photograph.
A grainy image of you, taken through the window of your apartment, unaware of the camera. On the back, a single sentence:
Make her do it. Or we will.
Katsuki’s blood turned to ice.
It took three days for him to admit the truth.
“They want me to trick you into—” His voice caught, fists clenching so hard his knuckles turned white. “They want me to set you up. To get you alone with one of them.”
Your stomach churned. “What do you mean?”
Katsuki turned away, his whole body shaking with barely restrained rage. “They want me to make you trust someone—let ‘em get close. To get you in a situation where you can’t fight back.” His breath hitched, voice breaking. “They want me to give you to them.”
Silence hung between you, heavy and suffocating.
You took a step closer. “And if you don’t?”
His laughter was bitter, hollow. “They’ve got dirt on me. I dunno how, but it’s bad. Bad enough they think they can control me.” His eyes burned with frustration. “They said if I don’t do it, they’ll hurt you themselves.”
Your pulse pounded in your ears. The thought of someone using Katsuki, of forcing his hand like this, made your skin crawl. But you weren’t afraid of him.
You were afraid of what they might push him to do.
Days passed, and the threats grew more direct. A package arrived at your apartment with an unmarked USB drive. Footage played of someone tailing you through the city, lingering outside your agency, taking note of every routine you had. They were watching your every move, waiting for Katsuki to obey.
But he wouldn’t. He couldn’t.
And that’s when they pushed too far.
Katsuki met with them under the cover of night, a controlled explosion of fury barely restrained in his bones. He pretended to comply, feigning hesitation, playing into their sick little game.
The moment they let their guard down, he struck.
“Did you really think you could make me betray her?” Katsuki’s voice was a growl as he dodged a swinging pipe, grabbing the bastard’s wrist and twisting until he heard a satisfying snap. “You thought I’d hand her over like some fuckin’ package?!”
A second attacker lunged at him, but Katsuki ducked under the blow, shoving his palm against their chest. “Die,” he snarled before a controlled explosion sent them flying into a pile of crates.
Another man stepped forward, smirking. “You think you’ve won, Dynamight?” he taunted, wiping blood from his lip. “You’re outnumbered.”
Katsuki cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders. “So what?” he spat. “You’re all just dead men walkin’.”
The explosion rocked the empty warehouse, sending metal and concrete raining down. Before the dust settled, he had taken down the first attacker, fists meeting flesh with bone-crushing force.
Backup arrived within minutes—his own setup, a team of trusted heroes swarming in to dismantle the operation. The blackmailers were subdued, their leverage destroyed, their threats turned to nothing.
When he finally returned to you, bloody but victorious, you could barely breathe.
“Katsuki!” You ran to him, hands hovering over his injuries. “Oh my god, you’re hurt—”
“I’m fine,” he grunted, but his hands shook as he pulled you in, pressing his forehead to yours. “They’re gone. They can’t touch you.”
Your vision blurred with tears. “You should have told me sooner.”
“I know,” he admitted, voice raw. “I was scared.”
You cupped his cheek, feeling the heat of his skin beneath your palm. “Of them?”
“No.” He let out a shaky breath. “Of losing you.”
You kissed him—desperate, relieved, grounding. His arms tightened around you, holding you like he’d never let go.
“You’re safe,” he whispered against your lips. “We’re safe.”
Tears burned your eyes as you held him tighter. “We are.”
And for once, the only thing left to burn between you was love.

popular friend!Chan x fem!reader
drabble: friends2lovers, teasing, smut, mentions of alcohol consumption, mentions of seungcheol & mingyu, penetrative sex, fingering(f receiving), dry humping, nipple play(f receiving), fluff
wc: 2k
a/n: happy birthday dino !! a little drabble in honor of the future of kpop mr. lee chan ! i hope you enjoy reading, i plan on writing more in the future !
The smell of the book will always make you swoon; a swoon that is romantic but few could recognize. Chan clears his throat from next to you, breaking your focus. You look up to him, raising your head from the table.
“Can I help you?” You sigh aloud, to which he quirks a brow in return. His facial expression is enough for you to know that he is judging you, but nothing too serious.
“Please let me enjoy this book for once.” You say, lowering your head back to the book once again.
“Are you reading or are you about to eat it?” Chan laughs.
“I imagine you probably have a party to get ready to host later, so you should start leaving now.”
At the moment, you were trying to enjoy your latest read in between your homework. Until your friend from high school, Chan, spotted you and decided to annoy the hell out of you where he finds some kind of childish pleasure from.
You and Chan met in your sophomore year of high school after your teacher placed you next to him for the rest of the year. Chan went from being a nerdy, awkward, and the kid to an obnoxious, rowdy, and popular person in a span of a few months. However, whenever around you, he toned down and wouldn’t tease as much as you have barely changed, maybe aside from your looks. Chan grew into his face which later would come in handy to his college years, specifically the ones where he would spend at the same school as you.
Everyone around you assumed you were an older sister to Chan due to his obedience and his shift when you were around. As much as you wanted to get away from the limelight that followed Chan, you were unable to lose the reign of the bubbly dinosaur that trailed around you. Chan being in a frat was predicted by you but you still strayed away from the party life that Chan was practicing. Something Chan didn’t mind too much.
“You’re right, I do actually.” Chan nodded as he stretched his arms, not appearing to get up anytime soon. “But I don’t want to leave you on your own yet. You know since its January, it gets darker way sooner, so I’d rather walk you back to your dorm before I head over to the house.”
“It’s okay, my friend is coming by to walk with me,” You start, seeing Chan’s shoulders sit back at the mention of another person.
“Don’t worry, it’s Ellie.” You laugh.
“I don’t particularly like Elliana, you know.” Chan argues.
The discomfort that is shared between Ellie and Chan is that Ellie is a party girl and always turns up at his parties, where she would later snitch to you about the different array of girls he would kiss and sneak off with. It’s not something that you were a fan of hearing as Chan was an old friend to you, but it gave you something to tease him later about.
“I know, but she just told me about the red head she saw you tangling your hands into.” Chan’s ears turn red at the mention of another girl he messed around with.
“We didn’t even do anything. I don’t understand why she even tells you. It’s really none of her business in the first place.” He frowns deeply, reminding you of his younger self making you laugh.
“It’s funny to see how you react, besides I don’t even care so don’t feel embarrassed. You should be more worried about catching something in the long run.” You comment and Chan looks down.
“Well that’s one way to kick a man out of a library.” He says dryly. “I’ll see you, Y/N. Don’t be a party pooper from the comfort of your dorm.”
Chan’s comment has you thinking of something else to tease him with but Ellie springs up beforehand.
“Hi Chan, or should I say man-whore?” Ellie says, smiling enough for 10 people.
“Ugh, please don’t come later on, Elliana.” Chan practically begs to which Ellie laughs.
“Don’t say that Channie, or else I won't bring my hot friends.” Ellie retorts.
Chan looks uncomfortable with Ellie’s comment and instead turns around and leaves without another word.
“Hm, usually when I say that he basically jumps for joy at the thought of another hot girl entering his premise.” Ellie says, plopping next to you.
“Really? He always acts like girls are not of interest to him. At least to me, I guess.” You say, closing your book, it wasn’t being read anyways.
Ellie doesn’t respond, simply leaving a satisfied smile.
“Alright, we can go to the dorm.” You say getting up fixing your shirt correctly.
“Woo, let’s go!” Ellie nearly shouts, having you slap your hand over her mouth.
“Too loud?” Ellie squeaks, and you nod.
— At The Dorm —
“Green or red?” Ellie asks, wearing a fitted red dress and hold a green one next to her. She spins around to show you.
You examine both dresses from your bed.
“Red, it has a sexiness to it.” You smile at her, dropping your eyes back to your phone. Chan sent a text asking about hanging out with him and his mom when she comes down to visit.
“Perfect!” Ellie smiles, running her hands down her body approvingly.
You respond to Chan and go back onto Instagram where you see people you go to school with posting pictures and videos from parties, some of which you can see Chan chatting with different girls. You sigh as you feel FOMO from the pictures alone. Although you don’t like parties, there was something about seeing Dino having fun with other girls that made you feel like you were missing out on a part of him that everyone else got to see. Who was this person that Chan was hiding from you? Was he embarrassed of you?
“Can-uh Can I go to the party with you, Ellie?” You ask suddenly.
Even Ellie is caught off guard from your question and responds with a loud “Huh?”
“I just haven’t really gone to any parties as of recent so I felt like I was kind of missing out. I just wanted to go to one.” You ramble and Ellie’s faces lights up.
“Of course! Get ready, and then head to my room when you’re done! A couple of us are going to be pregaming before we go!”
At that, you start brushing out your hair. You had makeup done already so there was only a little to be touched up, a little darker than usual. Then you shimmy into a black tight dress that you bought for parties, but has been rarely used. It falls barely above your butt.
You wander over to Ellie’s dorm room where there is loud music blaring already. You knock and Ellie rumbles out giggling, “WOO, COME TAKE A SHOT!”
You don’t question anything, and before you know it you’ve had 3 shots and are heading over to Chan’s frat house in the freezing cold without a coat. Not that you needed one, you couldn’t feel the snow.
The frat house is spilling with people already and you follow behind the rest of the girls. Already tipsy, you don’t look too out of place, but you still feel a little awkward.
The inside is dark, which makes you feel a little more comfortable while your eyes scan to find a specific person.
Ellie rushes over and suddenly hands you a red solo cup. “Drink this!” She shouts, which is loud even with the deafening music.
“What is it?” You ask, looking up from the cup, only for her to be gone already.
Normal instincts are not in use as you take a long sip of the disgusting drink. It nearly makes you gag it up and it burns as it runs down your throat, but you feel lighter.
You pass by a few guys and stop when one of them stands in front of you, stopping you from leaving.
“Hi, I’m Seungcheol.” The guy with the big arms smiles at you. You instinctively smile back. Before you could muster up a response, a large hand snakes around your waist and pulls you in.
“Hey guys, this is Y/N” Chan suddenly says, and you realize that Chan is the one with his arm around you. If you were sober, you probably would’ve pushed him away by now, but now your face just feels hot.
“I thought she was, like, your sister or something?” One of the guys says, must taller than the others.
“Gyu, shut up. No, this is my friend.” Chan asserts, but you can tell he is a little tipsy himself based on his awkward demeanor and reaction.
Before any of the guys could respond, Chan whisks you away to the other side of the room, where dozens of people are dancing drunkenly.
“What are you doing here? I almost didn’t believe it was you until I saw Ellie with you.” Chan says quickly.
The drink must’ve hit faster than you thought because now your thoughts are all jumbled and all you can think about is how hot Lee Chan is.
“I wanted to see how you act without me.” You pout, something that is completely out of the ordinary for you. Chan, clearly surprised by your response, laughs.
“Oh, did you? Well, you can’t know if you’re already drunk” Chan says, his smile reaching the corners of his eyes.
“Aw, can you please show me?” You look like you’re about to cry.
“Hey, woah woah. It’s okay, You’re okay, come with me.” Chan says, his hands trying to comfort you, with your sudden explosion of sadness.
Chan grabs a hold of your hand and you follow him upstairs. A shout from below comes from Ellie, “WOO GO CHAN! GET YOUR DREAM GIRL!”
You swing your head from Ellie back to Chan, “Who is your dream girl?”
Chan shakes his head, but doesn’t respond, so you stare at the back of his head where his ears are a dark red. You feel yourself sober up from a revelation that has your hands sweating.
Chan pulls you into a room that he turns the light on in, you assume it’s his room. You’ve never been to his room, but you feel like you’re spinning so you don’t think too much.
Chan has you sit on the bed with the dark blue sheets. “This is such a boy bed.” You comment.
“Well I am a boy.” Chan says, smiling.
“What are we doing here? Is this what you’re like at all your parties?” You ask, clearly confused.
“No, I’m not. I don’t want you to see me like that because I’m not fun.” Chan says, handing you a water bottle, a little warm from sitting on his nightstand for however long. “Just stay here for a little bit to sober up, I think you have a really low tolerance.”
“But, I want to see how everyone sees you. I only see you as the cute, sweet, awkward boy who is sometimes annoying.” You explain and he listens thoroughly.
“I don’t want you to think of me like how Ellie does. If you don’t see me like that, then I’ll still be that sweet guy to you. I’d like to keep a good reputation, you know.” Chan says, smiling.
“So are you really a man-whore?” You ask, slurring your words a little.
Chan just laughs at your bluntness. “Drink up.”
Taking another sip of water you just look at Chan and maybe it was the alcohol, but you couldn’t stop smiling at him. Hoping to not want to creep him out, you suddenly drop the smile.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, and you swoon at how gentle he is. It was like a light you haven’t seen him in and it was so warm. Chan was so warm.
“You smell like a book.” You blurt out.
“What?” Chan asks, about to laugh.
“You smell like a book right now. Don’t worry, I like the way books smell.” You explain, looking straight at his collar bones that were peaking from his black tee shirt.
Before Chan can respond, you lean in and smell his neck. While not something that was intentionally sexual, Chan tenses up at the action.
You sit back and look at him. Chan is no longer smiling, the look on his face is the most serious it’s ever been.
“I’m sorry, I had a get a better smell.” You explain, looking at your clammy hands.
Suddenly, Chan lifts your chin and kisses you. It's a soft and gentle kiss, but you melt into it. Before you can properly kiss back, he is already pulling away. Your eyes flutter open and the outer parts of his face are reddening.
“I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have done that. I’ve just ruined everything. I know you probably see me as a brother and now I’ve just made this so awkward. Please just forget-”
You cut him off and instead shut him up with a kiss. It’s a little sloppy, immature, and awkward, but that's how you both were. Chan starts to kiss back after a moment of surprise and starts to lead.
Chan’s hands place their place on your cheek and neck, respectably, before he pushes his body closer to yours.
You gasp when you feel his chest touching yours and he takes the chance to slip his tongue into your mouth. He explores your mouth, moaning to each of your reactions that felt like too much for him.
You find your hands on his chest, fingers dancing their way down to the hem, then pulling it over his head. When you break the kiss, your eyes scan his face. Cheeks a dark red, eyes heavy lidded, out of breath, and so hot.
“Oh my god, look at you.” Chan starts, his arms reaching for waist, like his hand were already molded in your hips.”Do you want to continue? We can stop if you want.” Chan says, looking like he never wants to stop.
“No, please.” You respond, pulling him back in.
He helps slide your dress down past your chest, where he pulls away to lock his eyes onto your laced bra.
“Is it okay..” He asks, while you’re already unclasping it for him.
His hands fly up to your chest and he squishes. He plays with your chest until he replaces his pinching fingers to light biting to your nipples. You become a moaning mess while your hands tug onto his short dark hair.
“Can you please,” Before you can finish your sentence, Chan pulls his jeans off leaving one piece of fabric tailored on his body left.
You slowly pull off your panties and he gives his full attention. His pupils, blown out as he leans in to kiss you. He kisses you softly, while his fingers rub your clit. He swallows each of your moans and slides a finger in.
“You’re so so tight, is this all for me? Are you making a mess on my bed for me? Are you going to make it up to me?” Chan says as you moan out apologies, none of them meaning much as you’re grinding against his fingers.
“If I give you more, will you take it like a good girl?” Chan asks, using his other hand to squeeze himself to relieve some of the strain from not being able to fuck you quite yet.
“Please, give me more. Please, please” You cry out, which is not enough for Chan. He grinds his hardness against your bare cunt, “Would you be a good girl for me?” He asks again.
“Yes. Please, just for you.” You cry out, and without another word, Chan pulls his member out and pushes into you without warning.
You both groan at the stretch and he doesn’t move, allowing you to adjust to his size.
After your nod of approval, he starts moving. “God, it feels like you were made just for me. I can’t believe you made me wait since high school. Do you know how bad I’ve wanted you?” Chan rambles as he continues thrusting. You can’t even register his words completely from the pleasure being so overbearing.
“Chan, I’m so close.” You moan out and he starts moving faster.
You can feel him get close by how fast he is going and you throw your head back while you finish. You shut your eyes so tight and squeeze him in the process.
“Oh, I’m so close.” Chan says, pumping into you. You start getting overstimulated and your body starts shaking as he pulls out and cums onto your stomach. He groans and plops down next to you.
You both are breathing heavily and stare at the ceiling. You look over at him and start laughing, remembering what he said during sex.
“So you really wanted me for that long?” You chuckled, the cool air from the room finally hitting you.
“Shut up.” Chan mumbles, ears becoming permanently red. “You said I smelt like books.”
“I like the way books smell.” You say, leaning over to kiss him.

It arrives in your inbox at 2:17 AM, the timestamp almost mocking the stillness of the night. The world outside is quiet, the kind of silence that fills your room with its weight, pressing against your ribs as if the very air knows what’s coming.
The email subject line is simple.
Just wanted you to know.
For a moment, you just stare at it. The words are innocuous, almost casual, but your heart knows better. You’ve seen that phrase before—at least in the way it echoed in your mind, in the way you tried to convince yourself you’d be fine without any more explanations.
And for some reason, you already know what it’s about. You don’t need to open it to feel the heavy, familiar knot tightening in your stomach. The ache in your chest that had dulled over time, the one you had worked so hard to ignore, throbs with renewed intensity, as if it’s alive and remembering the shape of old wounds. It’s as though your body recognizes him before your mind even does, and it reacts accordingly—a reflex you can’t outrun.
Your hands tremble slightly, the familiar sensation of fear and longing mixing in your veins, but you can't bring yourself to look away. The old ache becomes a weight in your throat, too, and for a moment, you're almost paralyzed by the gravity of it. You know this isn’t just a message. This is a door opening, an invitation to face something you buried deep. But you click on it anyway, drawn in by something you can’t explain, a part of you still hoping that maybe—just maybe—this will be the thing that makes it all make sense.
I just wanted you to know I hope you're doing well. I know things ended messy between us, and I hate that. I really do. I never wanted to hurt you, and I know that I did.
I’m sorry for how I left. For not saying enough. For saying too much. For everything in between.
I hope you’re happy. I really do.
- Carlos.
The words stare back at you, flat on the screen, sterile and detached. They sit there like a sentence of finality, as if they’re not even meant for you, but for someone who doesn’t carry the weight of your history with him. It’s just an email—another digital scrap of text sent into the void of the night. But after everything, after all that’s passed, this is what he gives you? Does he think that you’re just a situation that needs to be handled? A string of hollow words with no breath behind them, no warmth, nothing that even remotely resembles the person you once knew. No, not even that. The person you thought you knew.
It was almost ironic how the shape of his name still spelled out pain. Every letter, every syllable, carried a weight that dug deep, as if each time you thought of him, the wound reopened. It was strange, how someone you once loved could still manage to hurt you, even in their absence. Everything about him—his words, his actions, even his silence—had caused so much damage that it was honestly a little concerning.
You hated him. No, despised him. The anger simmered under your skin like a constant burn, always just beneath the surface, ready to erupt. The audacity he had, the way he thought he could just walk away, leaving destruction in his wake—it was almost unbelievable. He was wrong in so many ways the day he broke up with you. The way it all went down, how he acted like it was the easiest thing in the world, how he twisted every word you’d said into something it wasn’t—it was wrong, all of it. And by the looks of it, he probably knew by now. He had to. The way time had passed, the way people talked, the way you’d changedhe had to know the damage he’d done.
Your mind replays the last time you saw him. You can still picture it so vividly—the way he had stood in the doorway of your apartment, arms crossed over his chest like a shield, his eyes dark with something you couldn’t read. He looked smaller somehow, the exhaustion wearing him down, hanging off of him like a second skin, like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, yet he couldn't find it in himself to care about you anymore. The lines in his face were deeper, like time had been more unforgiving to him than you ever realized. The way his jaw clenched so tightly when you had begged him to just talk to you, that desperate plea falling from your lips like a prayer, but he wouldn’t listen. His silence had cut deeper than anything he could have said. The way he hadn’t looked back when he walked away. Not once. Not a single glance. Like you didn’t exist. That was when you realized he had put a distance between you two ages ago that you were finally seeing—a sea you were too tired to cross.
The door had clicked shut behind him with a finality that shattered you into pieces you weren’t sure you could ever put back together. That sound—the click of the lock—wasn’t just the end of a visit, but the end of everything. The end of any future you thought you’d have together. You didn’t just lose him in that moment. You lost the life you’d built around him. And you’ve been trying to rebuild ever since.
And now, months later, this. This email. A quiet, late-night message, sterile in its simplicity, like he was trying to offer a neat little bow to wrap up the wreckage he left behind. But there’s no ribbon to tie, no neatness to this. What he gave you wasn’t closure—it was a reminder that, for all his talk of wanting to make amends, he’s still incapable of meeting you where you need him.
You slam your laptop shut, too quickly, too harshly, as if the words might physically reach out and strangle you if you don’t. For a moment, your fingers linger on the lid, shaking, the intensity of your pulse drowning out the quiet hum of the city outside. The night has become suffocating, and you can’t tell if it’s because of the email, or because you’re finally confronting what you’ve been trying to ignore for so long. The pain hasn’t gone anywhere, and neither has the ache. It sits with you like an old friend, one you can’t seem to shake.
It’s almost laughable, really. You can’t help but chuckle bitterly to yourself as you stare at the screen. He thinks he’s giving you closure. That this carefully constructed email, this rehearsed apology, is supposed to fix something, to heal the rift that’s been eating away at you for months. That it will somehow mend the fractures in your heart as if it’s something that can be neatly patched up with a few well-chosen words. But the truth is, it doesn’t even come close. No, this isn’t closure. This isn’t even an attempt at healing—it’s just an afterthought, a last-ditch effort to clear his conscience without ever truly facing the damage he caused. And it’s almost insulting.
Closure isn’t an email at 2 AM, casually dropped into your life as though he’s just checking off a box. It isn’t a collection of words stripped of warmth, void of real feeling, written at a distance, with no regard for the time, or the place, or the person it’s supposed to reach. Closure would have been a conversation. A real one. A face-to-face moment where he would have stayed, where he would have stayed long enough to listen, to hear you, and not just walk away the moment it got hard. That would have been closure. But he didn’t stay. He left you behind with nothing but the echoes of your unanswered questions.
Your breath catches in your throat, and for a moment, you struggle to steady yourself. You take a deep breath, but it shudders on the way in, uneven and sharp. It feels like your lungs are betraying you, like they can’t hold the air in anymore, and you’re left gasping in the void between anger and heartache. Your throat is thick with unshed tears, but you refuse to let them fall. Not again. Not for him. You’ve cried enough tears for him already, enough for a lifetime. You promised yourself you wouldn’t do this anymore, that you wouldn’t let him be the reason you hurt.
You want to reply. You want to scream, to let him know how deeply he’s failed you, how his absence is still an open wound, festering in the corners of your mind. You want to tell him that, even now, you still wake up in the middle of the night, expecting to hear his voice, expecting to feel the weight of his arm around your waist. You still reach for him in the dark, your fingers grasping at air, and you realize too late that he’s not there. You want to tell him that every time you see red—Ferrari red, that damn red, the color of his car, of everything he used to be to you—you feel like you might break all over again, like all the pieces you’ve tried to pick up and put together have shattered into even smaller bits.
But he's not Ferrari red anymore. He's Williams blue now. You’d probably be a new wrinkle in his life, a person who wouldn’t fit. Heck, you didn’t even fit when he was in Ferrari. You could answer him back, tell him you forgave him, that you both could be friends again. Maybe that would iron everything out nicely.
But you won’t. You won’t give him that satisfaction. You won’t give him the power to pull you back into this mess, into this space where you lose yourself every time you think about him. He doesn’t deserve that. You don’t deserve to let him keep doing this to you.
The frustration, the hurt, the unanswered questions—they all feel like they're swirling in a storm that won't quiet. You crawl into bed, pulling the blankets around yourself as if they could offer the protection your mind and heart desperately crave.
You are fine. Everything is fine. You had your beers, your occasional crying sessions, your candles. You were doing so much better without him. You had to.
It cut deep, knowing him, all the way to the bone. The breakup had been necessary. It had to be. You were healing, getting better, moving on. Or at least, that’s what you told yourself.
But the ache in your chest and the rapid, shallow breaths you couldn't control told a different story. It was one you knew the ending to but didn’t want to face. His email was oh so unnecessary, cruel even. He had broken up with you months ago, and yet here he was again, trying to reach back into your life. He shouldn’t have contacted you. He should’ve left you alone.
And you definitely should’ve stayed in bed.
Hatred and regret twisted inside of you, each trying to take the lead, but you were too exhausted to figure out which was winning. Still, you knew you had to respond.
Your gaze lingered on the laptop screen for what felt like hours, your mind scrambling for the right words, something that could strike him, something that would hurt, something that would linger with him forever the way he had lingered in your life. But nothing came.
Instead, what you found was something deeper—something far more painful.
Acceptance.
Acceptance was the true winner in the battle between your emotions. It was the thing you’d been running from, the thing you’d fought so hard to avoid. You had accepted it.
It was over.
So, with a steady hand, you typed the final words you’d ever send him and blocked his email so he could never contact you again.
"I don’t need your closure."

Lando had barely finished tying his sneakers when he felt Amelie’s hand slip into his, a familiar warmth shooting up his arm. He turned, flashing her a quick grin. The kind of grin that said he was happy to be on the road with her, happy to spend the last few days before their schedules took them in opposite directions.
Barcelona was sunny and busy, the streets buzzing with tourists and locals alike, the air alive with laughter and the clink of glasses from nearby cafés. Lando glanced at Amelie, feeling that familiar flutter in his chest. Even when they were just walking around like any other couple—holding hands, sharing jokes—it felt like a perfect moment.
Oscar and Lily had tagged along with them, their easy-going presence making the day even more fun. Amelie, as usual, was dressed effortlessly cool—denim jacket, black jeans, and a pair of sunglasses perched on top of her head. She looked stunning, but that wasn’t new.
They walked through the bustling streets of Barcelona, weaving through the crowd, as the sun bathed everything in a warm glow. Oscar and Lily, who had been quiet up ahead, suddenly slowed down as Lando’s attention was completely stolen by Amelie. Her head turned this way and that, scanning the shops that lined the street, and Lando couldn’t help but admire how naturally she fit in here.
—What do you think of this place?— Amelie asked, nudging him with her shoulder and flashing a playful grin.
Lando chuckled, looking up at the brightly painted boutique they were passing. —Looks good. I think you’ll look great in whatever you pick out.—
She gave him a sidelong glance, the corner of her lips twitching upward. —Flattery, Lan? Or are you just trying to get me to buy you more stuff?—
He shot her a cheeky wink. —Maybe a little of both, Ames. But mostly, I just want to see you looking even hotter than usual. Is that so wrong?—
Her laughter rang out, and just like that, a couple of people recognized her. One woman stopped in her tracks, eyes wide.
—Amelie Dayman?—
Before Lando could react, the woman had pulled out her phone, asking for a quick selfie.
Amelie smiled warmly, and though Lando noticed her slightly stiffening under the sudden attention, she agreed. —Yeah, of course!—
Lando took a step back, letting her do her thing. Fans were part of the deal, and Amelie had gotten used to it over the years, though sometimes Lando knew it could still overwhelm her. She’d been in the public eye since she was young, after all, and it wasn’t always easy for her to balance that with her personal life.
Oscar and Lily exchanged glances but made no move to stop, clearly used to this by now too.
As they stepped into the store, it became obvious that Amelie was a magnet for attention. No matter how hard the shop owner tried to keep the space calm, word had spread that the Amelie Dayman was inside. People lingered outside, peeking through the glass windows, hoping for a glimpse.
Lando raised an eyebrow as he watched a small group gather outside the store, their eyes fixed on the window. He knew Amelie was famous—hell, everyone did. But sometimes, it was easy to forget just how much of a spectacle her presence could cause. He slid a hand into his pocket, trying to act casual as he gave Oscar a look.
—This is gonna get out of hand fast, isn’t it?— Lando muttered.
Oscar shrugged, clearly not fazed. —You’d think we’d be used to it by now. I mean, we’re with her all the time, but it still catches you off guard, right?—
Lando glanced at Amelie, who was now examining a rack of clothes, blissfully unaware of the growing crowd outside. She was chatting with Lily, laughing at something, her shoulders relaxed as she flicked through the items on the hanger. But even without realizing it, the moment she stepped into the shop, she became the center of attention.
The shop owner, a frazzled middle-aged man in a pressed suit, had already instructed the staff to be discreet, but it was clear the situation was escalating. People outside the store had begun whispering, their phones out, trying to get photos from every angle.
—Amelie, we should go before it gets crazy.— Lando said softly, walking over to her.
She looked up, blinking in surprise. —What? Oh, no, I’m fine. We’re just shopping.—
Amelie’s eyes flicked up to meet Lando’s, and the smile on her face faltered. Her gaze moved past him to the glass windows, and she instantly saw it. The crowd. Phones were raised in unison, flashes popping like camera shutters, and a group of fans had gathered, pressing up against the storefront, their excited voices ringing in the air.
Lando’s warning hadn’t even fully registered in her mind before it became all too real. The sudden shift in her body language was almost immediate, her posture straightening, a hand instinctively pulling the strap of her bag a little tighter over her shoulder.
She let out a quiet sigh, trying to shake off the feeling of being trapped under the spotlight again. It was something she’d learned to live with, but it never failed to make her uncomfortable. Sure, she had chosen this life, but that didn’t mean it didn’t sometimes get overwhelming.
Amelie didn’t even know why it surprised her anymore. This was her life now. The crowds. The constant attention. The never-ending cycle of being watched. But even after all these years, she couldn’t help but feel that strange twinge of discomfort every time it happened.
—Shit, Lan...— she muttered, her tone low, as she tried to keep her face neutral, avoiding eye contact with the growing crowd. She didn’t want to appear bothered, but the reality was, being filmed and snapped without permission never sat well with her.
Lando stepped closer, his hand resting gently on her lower back. He noticed the shift in her demeanor immediately and, as always, went into protector mode.
—You okay?— he asked, his voice soft, but his eyes scanning the shop to see just how many people were outside. He wasn’t blind. He could feel the tension in her shoulders, the way she’d pulled away from the carefree air she’d had just moments ago.
—Yeah, just...— she trailed off, trying to push through it, but her smile was now a little strained, and she clearly wasn’t having fun anymore.
The sound of voices outside was getting louder, and it was clear the situation was spiraling quickly. Fans had started shouting her name, some trying to get her attention while others took advantage of the opportunity to snap photos.
Lando frowned, glancing at Oscar and Lily, both of whom had started to take a step back, clearly realizing that their quiet shopping trip had just turned into a spectacle. Oscar gave him a sympathetic look, and Lily raised an eyebrow, mouthing I knew this was gonna happen.
Lando rubbed the back of his neck, a small sigh escaping his lips. He glanced at Amelie, who was now staring at the growing crowd with a mixture of disbelief and frustration. He could see it in her eyes—how she hated it. Hated being watched, hated being the center of attention when all she wanted was a normal day with her boyfriend and friends.
—Alright, Ames, let’s go, yeah?— Lando suggested gently, his voice calm but firm, trying to reassure her that they weren’t stuck in this madness.
But she didn’t move. Instead, her gaze stayed glued to the window as more and more people gathered outside. She was frozen, her hand subtly tightening around the strap of her bag. Lando could feel the tension radiating off her, and he didn’t want her to feel overwhelmed. He stepped forward, cupping her face with one hand and lifting her chin to make her look at him.
—Hey, you don’t have to do this. I’ve got you. Let’s go somewhere else if you want. Don’t let them get to you, Ames. You deserve a break.—
Her lips parted as if she were about to protest, but she closed them again, the fight draining from her face as she looked back at him. There was a deep sigh, and she finally gave a small nod.
Lando smiled softly, his thumb brushing against her cheek, and with a nod, he turned towards the door. He took her hand in his, squeezing it reassuringly. He could feel her tension as they made their way towards the exit, her fingers tightening around his, but she didn’t pull away.
The moment they stepped outside, the noise hit them. A wave of people surged forward like a tide, the sound of shouting and phones clicking. Lando instinctively stepped in front of her, shielding her from the crowd as best as he could with his body. He kept his hand tightly in hers, pulling her closer to him, his other hand extended slightly to push through the throngs of people that had gathered.
Lando could feel the energy shift instantly as the crowd surged. Phones were in the air, like a swarm of bees, buzzing and snapping in every direction. People were shouting Amelie’s name, her face plastered on every screen as flashes went off, strobe-like, as if the paparazzi were out in full force. It wasn’t just a few fans anymore—it was a mob, and Lando was doing everything he could to keep them at bay.
He could feel Amelie’s grip tightening on his hand as she tried to move with him. She wasn’t panicking, but he could feel her anxiety radiating through their connection. He kept his hand in front of them, gently shoving people back as they came too close, his voice low but firm.
—Excuse me! Please back off!— Lando called out, trying to keep the space between them and the crowd. He was used to being in the spotlight, but he was well aware that it wasn’t just his name being screamed anymore. People had spotted Amelie and, just like that, the situation had escalated.
Amelie smiled at the fans who called out to her, doing her best to keep her composure as she posed for a selfie with one person, then another. She tried to hide the nerves in her eyes, but Lando saw it all—the subtle tension in her jaw, the way she was keeping herself just a little too composed.
As they inched forward, Lando kept leading the way, gently navigating through the crowd. Fans were pressing in, trying to reach out to touch her, snap photos, or just get close. A few even shouted her name, asking for an autograph, but Amelie didn’t seem to mind as much. She was used to it by now—smiling and laughing through the craziness, even though she would have preferred to be somewhere quiet, just the two of them.
—Hey, keep your hands to yourselves!— Lando snapped at one of the people who got a little too close. He wasn’t a fan of being rude, but he had to make sure they respected Amelie’s space.
Amelie’s eyes met his for a split second, and she gave him a grateful, albeit slightly tired, smile. —Thanks, Lan.—
They were so close to the car now. Just a few more steps. Lando could see the black SUV parked just ahead, the driver standing by with the door open, ready to whisk them away from this madness.
The sea of people in front of them seemed endless, but with every step, they got closer to the peace and calm of the car. Lando’s pace quickened as he tightened his grip on Amelie’s hand, moving as fast as he could without seeming too rushed. He was still holding his arm in front of her, trying to block out the people who were too eager to shove their phones in her face.
And then, as if a wave had hit them, the screams grew louder. More phones, more faces, more hands reaching. Amelie’s eyes flicked between Lando and the approaching vehicle, her breathing quickening slightly.
—Just a little bit longer, Ames. Almost there.— Lando muttered, and she nodded, though Lando could see the faintest trace of discomfort in her eyes.
When they reached the car, Lando opened the door and helped Amelie inside, his hand on the small of her back as he guided her in. She slid in quickly, her face flushed but still trying to keep it together.
Once inside, Lando closed the door behind them, and for a brief moment, everything went silent. It was like the noise of the crowd was suddenly shut out, and they were enveloped in a bubble of quiet.
Oscar and Lily got in the car behind them, and Lando quickly glanced at Amelie, who was sitting next to him, her hands resting in her lap as she tried to compose herself.
Before Lando could say anything, Oscar leaned forward from the back seat, grinning. —Well, that was a shitshow, huh? You’ve got quite the entourage following you now, Amelie. Remind me to never go shopping with you again.—

ameliegossipdaily: Honestly, what happened tonight in Barcelona was completely unacceptable. 🙄 While Amelie, Lando, and their friends were just trying to enjoy a quiet day, some people forgot that she's a human being, not a circus attraction. It's beyond disrespectful to invade someone's personal space like that—especially when she's clearly uncomfortable. 😤
Amelie’s kindness knows no bounds, and yet, people treat her like a zoo animal. When will we respect boundaries? Fans deserve to be able to appreciate their idols, but this was way over the line. 😳 We all saw the frenzy outside that store—the paparazzi flashing cameras, the screaming, the invasion of privacy. We get it, she's famous, but respect goes both ways, and the disrespect shown to her tonight is absolutely appalling. 😤
Amelie deserves peace, she deserves to live without feeling like she’s on display 24/7. 🌟 Everyone should take a moment to reflect on how we treat people we admire. It's not all about the chase for selfies and autographs. 📸 Respect her space, her comfort, and her friends' time too.
Let’s do better, folks. ✊💖 Amelie is a queen, and she deserves to be treated like one.

f1queen: Honestly, I'm just glad Lando was there to protect her. The way people just start snapping pics without asking? YIKES. 😤 → tiffytiff_23: @f1queen seriously, where's the respect for her privacy?? 😡
papayadreamer: I can't believe people turned a normal shopping trip into a freak show. Amelie deserves SO much better than that. 😔💔 → itsnicky44: @papayadreamer 100%. Like, leave her alone, it’s not that deep. 🙄
sarahh_rocks: Ugh, she looked so uncomfortable. Can we just let her live? 🤦‍♀️
sofia__carter: Lando looking like he's ready to fight the entire crowd to protect her, but honestly... it's necessary. 😂🛑 → itsme_alexx: @sofia__carter he was on full defense mode lol 😂 respect Lando tho. 🫶
ameliedailyupdates: That whole crowd thing was gross. No one should have to go through that, especially Amelie. 😤💔 → oscar__fan22: @ameliedailyupdates true. People forget there's a line between admiration and invasion. 😡
lucyheartthrob: Did anyone else see Lando liked this post? 👀 He knows we’re all on the same page. → f1life77: @lucyheartthrob Yesss I noticed too! He’s def not here for the crowd either!
gracie_luvs: Amelie deserves to shop without being hunted down. That’s so rude. 😡
stanamelie4ever: the way she was literally trying to leave and people kept blocking her path??? disgusting.
fan11: if Amelie never goes outside again, I fully support her tbh → fan12: real, I wouldn’t either after this mess 😭

@ anon sorry I accidentally deleted ur ask!! to answer ur question though, I think it’s a bad idea because.. i fear rejection i guess and I suppose what I fear more is the opposite
#i have an issue where despite wanting to feel close to people I kinda hold everyone but like two people at arms length#I care a lot about people. even the people I don’t talk to anymore or like ppl I regard as like acquaintances#it’s easier to care from a distance. less of a sit back and watch thing more of a#aw I see a post on Instagram im so glad ur doing well I’m gonna mentally send good vibes and go about my day#it’s#it’s easier being a ghost I suppose#idk whenever I try a restart a friendship it never works#you can’t just rebuild connections#or at least I can’t#maybe im too different or maybe I’m too similar#also whenever I hype myself up to do something I’m afraid of doing it backfires spectacularly. so no actions means no expectations means no#consequences! and I know that makes me a bad person but consider that it’s for everyone’s best interests#this is probably just a weird phase of nostalgia anyway#and you should never reach out simply for nostalgias sake. you will have unrealistic expectations for urself and other ppl ^_^#im content w my mostly happy memories ^_^#should I tag this as#asks#nonnie#? in spirit I guess#I think I have like. one mutual from that time but I’ve changed my name like 60 times bro prolly don’t even recognize me which is for the#best#now… what am I gonna draw today#i guess im also afraid of what it means that I could’ve had more friends if I didn’t uhhh split or assume#that no one liked me in the first place#it already happened w a dear friend and I can never fix it so#why try

@galacta-phantasma now why would you say that to me .

replaying this game after the second game is making me honest to god so beyond miserable … javier looks so absolutely defeated here. it’s genuinely breaking my heart. please don’t make me think about the thoughts he’s having now- perhaps ones of regrets, or flashes of laughter and singing around the campfire, of clanking beer bottles together and sharing stories, of looking at the shine in dutch’s eyes during a speech and how he felt, somehow, the warmth of the mexican sun. and how that sun never felt the same when he got home again. and how the only time in the past eight years that he ever felt warm was when john’s hands wrapped the rope around his hands and legs. when john’s rope was the noose around his neck, and he finally, finally could stop running. guilt, fear, regret … relief. please kill me im so sad
#MY HEART IS BROKEN IM ON YHE FLOOR BLEEDING OUT#please never apologize to me for rambling in the tags it heals me when people do that#the fact that you pointed out that javier was in fact cursing john out for the entire time that he was in his field of vision but then goes#completely silent the moment he truly recognized that it was over and that john was serious#god fuck i can’t do this anymore#do you think when john was chasing him on horseback it felt like he was following javier back to camp again#by that time in-game javier had just seen bill and somehow he knows that dutch is in colombia so he’s keeping tabs on him as well so i do#think that he’s seen some of the gang members a few times since The Incident#but to see john is completely different than seeing bill#to see john who was his brother. to see the man that dutch left to die ON PURPOSE. i’m certain javier thought he’d never see him again#so it all comes rushing back in a way that it doesn’t when bill is/was around. the memories of john are sweeter. more pure.#javier loved john longer than he ever did hate him and he’s missed him for even longer than that#cuz they were so close man ☹️ fuck this sucks. i hate rdr1#but yes i do think he was elated and crushed and angry and sad and so so happy to see john again#john says that javier is a cynic pretending to be a romantic but i don’t believe that at all. javier is a romantic through and through#and that just means that he feels heartbreak far deeper than the average person as well#and i think his heart has rotted in his chest so heavily by the time john rides into mexico javier doesn’t even have the heart to be angry#not anymore. though he was for years and years and years. and maybe john’s arrival stoked that just a bit. just long enough for the lasso to#catch up to him. and then it’s jail cells and backseats and agents and he’s got nothing left anymore.#and he’s just … done. he’s so tired. ugghhh fuuuccckkkk#i have to killmjselg why would yuo make me think about this again#okay i need to stop i’ll cry actually. thank you though im pleased about you putting your input even though it ruined my life#rdr#john marston#javier escuella#text#hero’s talking over folks

i clicked on the original tweet just to see if anyone else felt as weird about it as i did because at this point i’m just tired of seeing people going on and on about trans men dating cishet men who try to convince them not to transition as if it’s a funny joke about a trans man doing something silly and not a manipulative and generally very unhealthy relationship dynamic that can hurt the trans man involved really deeply (as forcing someone back into the closet tends to do.)
did i find anyone else feeling that way? no. there were a few people pointing out that it was weird in general, and plenty saying it’s a weird thing to say about a cis woman, but nothing expressing any sort of concern about the tired stereotype it’s perpetuating.
but you know what i did find? replies like the one in the second screenshot, using the tweet as their chance to tell the world how much they hate trans men and how repulsive they find the idea of ever being compared to us. and replies like the third one, shaming trans men in relationships like that as if the fact that they’ve found themselves in an unhealthy relationship makes them deserving of public shaming, as if their relationship is hurting anyone other than them.
stereotypes like this just feel like yet another way of indirectly calling us stupid little girls who don’t know what’s good for us, and the fact that a picture of a woman is being used (even jokingly!) as an example of what trans men “like that” look like should make the implications of rhetoric like this all the more obvious.
it’s relationships like these that keep us miserable in the closet for so long and drive up our sexual assault rates even more. they’re not funny and if anyone is going to be making jokes about them, it certainly shouldn’t be people who have never been in that situation. if you actually cared about us you’d be looking for ways to support the trans men you know who are in relationships like that instead of hopping on twitter to joke about how stupid they must be.
i don’t care if it’s a joke. if it victim blames trans men for the transphobia we face in our personal relationships, adds to the common idea that we can’t be trusted to make decisions about our own lives, and invites even more blatant transphobia against us by people who unabashedly admit they see all trans men as “disgusting and phony”, it’s not fucking funny.
(i also want to note that the people making these jokes never like to mention that this also happens to trans men in relationships with queer women. they also hate those trans men, of course, and are happy to express that when they get into fights about trans men who date lesbians, but they’ll never talk about it in the context of this particular stereotype. it’s always a man being manipulative in a relationship and pressuring trans men to not transition, as if a woman would never be capable of such a thing.
they also like to conveniently ignore the existence of older trans men who transitioned after already being in a committed relationship with a cishet man and were able to make that relationship work despite their transition, because acknowledging that would require recognizing that trans men can be in seemingly contradictory relationships and genuinely be happy with their partner. who needs nuance when you can simply choose to judge all trans men for our relationships regardless of what they’re actually like?)
do you think they also would call me “a trans man being purposefully misgendered” with this kind of vitriol because i’m still living with parents who don’t recognize my gender instead of moving out before i’m ready to be financially independent? at this point, i’m starting to feel like they might, with the way every decision a trans man ever makes is the subject of a public debate and people have decided that trans men are secretly using being misgendered as a weapon to somehow hurt other trans people.
as a general rule, i’d say the only people who should be making “X looks like a trans man” jokes about literally anyone/anything are trans men, and posts like this show exactly why those jokes being made by anyone else (even by other trans people) just isn’t a good idea.

That was so YUMMY so this is the Logan-being-jealous counterpart, hope you enjoy!
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
The end of the school day brought with it a familiar sense of relief and exhaustion. You loved your job, but after spending hours with a classroom full of high-energy students, you were ready to pack up and head to your room in the mansion.
The thought of your shared room and of your husband Logan waiting there brought a small smile to your face. But as you were tidying up your desk, the last few students leaving your classroom, you heard a voice call your name. Your head wiped around as you heard it. “Excuse me, Miss!” At first, you thought it was one of your students, but their voice was too deep to be a teenage boy.
You turned to see Mr. Reed, a tall, polished man with a charming smile. You recognized him immediately. He was the father of one of your more rambunctious students, Jason Reed. He seemed to live in this school, it was weird just how often you saw him around. He attended every single one of the parent evenings you hosted - only yours. And he often sought you out to have a conversation with him and his son. You didn't think too much of it, it was your job after all to answer the parents questions if they had any concerns.
You gave him a friendly wave as he approached. “Oh, hey, Mr. Reed” you greeted warmly, pausing in your steps. "Is there something you needed?
The man gave a casual shrug, slipping his hands into the pockets of his well-tailored suitjacket. “I was hoping to catch you for a moment. My son just won’t stop talking about you. Miss "the-coolest-teacher-ever’” he added with a chuckle, his blue eyes holding a distinct shimmer in them.
You laughed softly. Hearing this went down like honey. You were always happy to know that your students were enjoying your class. You were the teacher you wanted to be since you were a student yourself. The teacher that made other students feel safe, that didn't make them feel like they were pressured and had to deliver a certain level of performance to be good enough "Well, Jason is a great kid. He’s got so much energy. I can barely keep up sometimes, but I’m glad to hear he is liking my classes this far."
“Oh, absolutely. You’ve really made a difference for him” Mr. Reed said, his voice dipping into something smoother, something deeper. “He’s had a hard time adjusting to his mutation, you know. And the abilities that come with it. But since he’s been in your class, I can tell he’s a lot happier. More confident" he praised you highly, teeth bared in a dashing smile to you. “And that’s all thanks to you. I don’t know how you do it, managing a class full of kids with various mutations and powers they can't quite control yet. It’s impressive.”
You waved your hand dissmisvely at the single father, giggling bashfully. You weren't used to such direct praise from parents, not even from him. “I'm flattered, but it’s not just me" you replied modestly. “Mr. Xavier has build a great support system over the years.”
Mr. Reed clicked his tounge at your humble answer. “Don’t sell yourself short” he flashed you another grin. “You clearly have a talent with kids. Jason has made more progress in the past few months than he ever has before. I’m not sure how I could ever thank you properly.”
His tone was friendly for the time being. The conversation continued. And at first it felt completely professional, how it should be. Mr. Reed asked about Jason’s curriculum, your teaching methods and even about the schools approach to managing the students unique abilities. You were more than happy to answer all his questions, oblivious to the way he started inching closer.
“It’s just refreshing” he said, leaning casually against the wall next to you, his eyes subtly roaming your figure “to meet someone as smart, kind and beautiful as you. Jason’s lucky to have you as his teacher. The whole class is.”
The realisation hit you like a ton of bricks. He wasn’t just being nice. He was flirting. You blinked, your polite smile faltering. “Oh, um, thank you” you replied, starting to feel a little awkward. It showed with the way you brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. A sign for him that you were all shy and bashful around him. Far from that. You felt really uncomfortable.
"I’m lucky, too, really” he added, fueling the bad feeling in your gut. His eyes sweeped over you, this time less subtle, in a way that made your skin prickle, but not the good kind.
Then he decided to just go for it and ask the big question. He was impatient and wasn't in the mood to wait until you initiated something first. He had waited long enough. “Do you ever take time for yourself? Maybe let someone take you out for dinner?”
Your composure completely faltered for a second. The nerve this guy had. Didn't he see the obvious gold ring on your finger or did he purposefully decided to ignore it? You opened your mouth, trying to come up with a diplomatic way to shut this down, but you didn’t get the chance to.
“Everything alright in here?”
Logan’s gruff voice cut through the hallway like a blade, low and unmistakably annoyed. You turned to see him striding toward you, eyeing Mr. Reed like a wild animal stalking its prey. His broad shoulders were squared, his jaw set, and his dark eyes locked onto the other man with visible irritation.
You jumped as if you had just been caught cheating. “Logan” you squeaked surprised.
He huffed through his nose, his nostrils flaring like the ones of an angry bull that was riled up by the red in its vision. Well, when he had this loser of a man flirt with a goddess like you, his goddess, then he saw red. “Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt” Logan nearly growled, his tone anything but apologetic as he stopped next to you.
Mr. Reed blinked, clearly caught off guard. He swallowed thickly “Oh, I was just-” he tried to save the situation, or rather his own life, but Logan cut him off. “Flirtin’ with my wife?” Logan asked, arching a brow.
Mr. Reed’s face went pale as the snow falling outside the mansion, coating the gardenwith a thin layer of white. His eyes searched for your hand. They went wide as he looked at the wedding band you had been proudly wearing for six years now as if it had just appeared. “You-wait, you’re married?”
“Sure am” Logan said, slipping an arm around your waist and pulling you firmly against his side, securing you there. Marking his territory. His grip was warm and possessive and you could feel the tension radiating from him.
Mr. Reed stammered, his eyes darting between you and Logan in embarrassement and if you looked correctly, a little bit of fear. “I-I had no idea. I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean-” he stuttered out, laughing awkwardly in a bad attempt to play down his nervousness.
“Yeah, well, now you know,” Logan said flatly. “So maybe next time, think twice before you try to fuck someones woman" he spat, taking a step closer to Mr. Reed. You gasped softly at Logans word and placed a hand on his chest, giving him a warning look. “Logan” you muttered softly, trying to rein him in like a guard dog that was ready to pounce if its owner let him. You couldn't say that this side of him didn't turn you on immensly. But you didn’t need to get scolded by Charles for scaring off a parent.
But Logan wasn’t done. He leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a dangerous rumble. “And just so we’re clear, she’s not interested. Ever” He snarled, down right barked his last word into Reeds face, who then mumbled another apology before practically fleeing down the hallway, leaving you alone with Logan.
Once he was gone, you turned to your husband with a mix of exasperation and amusement. “and that was really necessary?" you chuckled with a proud smirk. “Damn right it was” Logan replied, his hand still possessively gripping your hips, smoothing over them. “Guy needed to know who he was dealin’ with.”
You sighed, but your lips twitched into a small smile as you leaned against your broad and strong teddy bear of a husband. “You know I can handle myself, right?”
Logans lips pulled into the slightest smile as he looked down at you as if you were the most precious thing in the whole universe. “Yeah, I know” Logan muttered, his tone softening as he admired your pretty face. That pretty face he had the privilege to wake up to every morning because you were his wife. His. “Doesn’t mean I’m gonna let some jackass hit on you though.”
You giggled, shaking your head fondly, reaching up to cup his gruff cheek. “You’re ridiculous.”
Logan shrugged “Maybe” he said, smirking. “But you like ridiculous. Wouldn’t have married me otherwise, missy" he rumbled deep in his chest, making you smile because it was the truth. You married him for it. Married him for everything he was. “Guilty as charged" you murmured with a smile, standing on your toes to kiss him softly.
Logan’s arms wrapped around you fully, pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss. By the time he pulled away, his loving smirk had returned, but his eyes were filled with something softer. Something only you got to see. Something that you wanted to see for the rest of your life just from him.
“Still don’t like sharin’,” he muttered. You laughed, resting your forehead against his. “You don’t have to.”
And as Logan laced his fingers with yours, leading you towards the mansions garden to take a relaxing stroll through the green and white landscape after this unpleasant encounter, you couldn’t help but feel grateful for the man who’d fight the world to keep you by his side.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
And weirdly enough, you never saw Mr. Reed after that, not even at the parent evenings. I wonder why...
If you liked this- like, comments and reblog! It helps a lot🎀

through the years
pairing: lando norris x fewtrell!reader
summary: a few glimpses into lando's journey of being in love with his best friend's sister. (5.9k) see request here!
a/n: r is three years older than max and lando. this has been a work in progress for months and was truly so so fun to write <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sixteen
Lando’s tucking his helmet back into its protective case when he hears someone say your name.
He straightens up like he’s been electrocuted, nearly hitting his head on the shelf above him at how fast he looks up. If he had ears like a dog, they’d be perked.
His eyes land on you chatting with someone he doesn’t recognize, and his heart skips a beat in his chest.
See, Lando has a massive crush on you, probably since before he knew what a crush was. All he knows is that you’re a few years older, his best friend’s sister, and the most perfect person he’s ever known. He’s pretty sure he’d fallen in love with you the moment he met you at one of Max’s and his races.
But at only sixteen (nearly seventeen) years old, did he even know what love felt like?
Not really, but if Lando was being completely honest, he imagines it was the same feeling he got whenever he climbed into a kart—thrilling, exciting, a little bit of fear that he might puke.
He hasn’t seen you in a while though. You’ve been off at university for a year now, somewhere far off, but Max had said something (read: complained) about you being home for summer break.
Lando thinks he might be more happy about it than your own brother is.
“Hey!” Lando calls, raising a hand in greeting. You lift your sunglasses at the sound of another voice, squinting in the bright sunlight to see who’s shouting at you now. When your eyes land on him, you smile, waving back. Lando grins, one that only grows bigger as you start to make your way over to him.
“Looked good out there today, Lan. You’re getting pretty quick on the straights,” You say on approach.
He’s had a little bit of a growth spurt this past year, so he’s no longer craning his neck to look at you, but you’ve still got quite a bit of height on him as you reach out to ruffle his hair playfully.
“Thanks! Have you, erm, have you been here the whole time?” Lando’s voice cracks at the end of his sentence, mortifying him, but luckily you don’t seem to notice. You’re too occupied looking around the track for something, or someone.
“Nah, I just got here, like twenty minutes ago? Mum told me to give Max a lift home.” You shrug. Lando fights the urge to let out a relieved sigh. Thank god you weren’t here to see him nearly spin out into the gravel on the last corner. That would’ve been embarrassing. “Have you seen him, by the way? I need to wring his neck.”
A surprised honk of laughter splutters from Lando’s mouth. “What did he do now?”
“Little shit broke one of mum’s good dinner plates and blamed it on me! S’why I’m here playing chauffeur,” You sigh, shaking your head. “Grounded during summer holidays, can you believe it? I’m basically Max’s personal shuttle, so it looks like you’re going to be seeing quite a bit of me for a while. Nightmare, innit?”
“Not really. It’d be nice to see you around more again.”
“You’re sweet, Lan. The punishment might be worth it to see your cute face all the time.” You wink at him, pinching his cheek gently.
He knows you don’t mean it in the way he wants you to mean it. You still see him as just your little brother’s best friend, still a kid. But he’s older now, more mature. His voice is starting to drop, and he’s going places in his racing career by this point. He wonders if you know he’s joining McLaren’s Young Driver Programme next year. He wonders if you’d be impressed by it.
“Hang on. I’ve got to take this, it’s my mum. Probably demanding I stop off at the shops on the way home,” You sigh, holding up your buzzing phone. “Do me a favor, be a darling and go find my idiot brother, would you?” You answered the call before he could nod, walking a ways away to talk to your mum.
Lando remains rooted in place, watching you pace back and forth.
“What’re you looking at?” Max pops up next to him out of the blue, bumping his shoulder rather roughly. It doesn’t phase him though, because he’s used to Max’s antics at this point.
Instead, he sighs. “D’you think she’d ever like me?”
“Who?”
Lando nods his head in your direction, looking rather wistful. Max follows his friend’s line of sight until his gaze lands on you, on the phone, looking less than pleased.
“Are you fucking with me? Please tell me you’re fucking with me,” He asks, wrinkling his nose at Lando. Even though you’re three years older than him, Max was wildly overprotective over you. Lando shakes his head. He is most definitely serious. “Mate, that’s my sister.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“That’s disgusting.”
Lando scoffs, giving Max a shove. “You’re disgusting.”
“So you’re telling me that every time you’ve asked me where she’s been, what she’s been up to, it’s ‘cause you fancy her?”
“Maybe. Yeah. I think she’s amazing.”
“I’m gonna throw up. I’m actually going to throw up, oh my god.”
“Don’t be dramatic.” Lando rolls his eyes, picking up his things.
“You’re hot for my sister, how am I being dramatic? I think I’m being quite calm about this.”
“It’s nothing, really. She probably won't ever see me as anything but a little kid.”
“Oh, you never know. You’re getting bigger, mate. Stacking on the height, packing on the muscle.” He fakes two punches to Lando’s torso, grunting overdramatically when Lando pushes him away with another roll of his eyes. “Soon enough you won’t be able to keep the ladies off you, ya stud.”
“Thanks? You do know we’re still talking about your sister, right?”
“Oh. Right. Yeah, still gross.”
“Oi, Max. Let’s go or mum’ll have my head if we don’t get home by dinner,” You grumble, reappearing behind Max and shoving him upside the head. Your gaze softens when it turns on Lando. “Bye, Lan. See you soon.”
Lando manages to get out a goodbye without his voice cracking again, thank god. He wants to go in for a hug, because part of him thinks it might lift your spirits, but knows Max would never let him hear the end of it. So he just settles for a slightly awkward wave before you turn on your heel and head for the car.
Max rolls his eyes. Then he smiles deviously, pointing at your retreating figure with one hand and Lando with the other, before smashing them both together, all while making overexaggerated kissy noises. He seems to have forgotten his previous disgust quite easily.
“Fuck off!” Lando hisses, flipping off his friend.
“I’ll leave you behind, Maximillian!” You warn, not even turning around to threaten your brother. Max rolls his eyes again, but doesn't hesitate in hurrying after you so you won't leave him stranded at the track.
Lando manages to catch your eye once as you’re pulling out of the car park and he waves again, trying but probably failing to stifle the goofy grin spreading across his face at the wave you gave him back.
God, he’s so down bad for you.
That year, however, the months went on, Lando found himself noticing that you came home less and less often, and not even for school breaks the following year. Max wouldn’t talk about it, but it was obvious it was somewhat of a sore subject, so Lando never pushed.
He’d always wondered what happened, but soon enough, his life became far too hectic to sit around thinking about all the what if’s and the why not’s. All he could do was hope you were doing okay.
-------
twenty
It’s hard to believe Max is turning twenty-one.
So will Lando, later in the year, but for now he remains a very youthful looking twenty years old.
Max invites a handful of people to a quiet dinner, nothing too flashy, nothing too fancy. Just a nice dinner with close friends and good food. His birthday sits right between race weeks, so Lando is fortunate enough to be able to carve out an evening for his best friend.
Now he’s sitting at the end of a long table, sipping a lemon sparkling water as the first few of their friends start to trickle in. He’d arrived unfashionably early under the guise of offering to help Max iron out last minute details, set up, things like that.
In reality, the reason why he’d turned up so early was you.
Lando doesn’t know if Max invited you, and if he did, he doesn’t know if you’d actually come. But on the off chance that you do choose to make an appearance, Lando wants to be the first one to see you.
Naturally, he spots you the second you walk in, and he’s instantly transported back to when he was an awkward teenager, pathetically pining over his best friend’s sister with absolutely no shot.
Hell, he’s still pining over you. He thought whatever feelings he had for you would’ve faded over the years, but one look at you and everything comes rushing back.
He thought he’d prepared himself for this, for seeing you again, but one thing that rises above all the other thoughts flooding his brain is that he’s not over you. Not by a long shot.
He watches you make your way over to your brother and hug him. You lean in close to say something into his ear, and suddenly you’re both looking directly at him.
Lando startles, nearly spilling his drink, but he manages to compose himself quickly. That swoopy feeling he used to get whenever you made your way over to him is back in full swing again. He scrambles to his feet.
“Hey, Lan!” You greet him keenly, wrapping him in a warm hug. Your perfume washes over him as you do, and he fights the urge to sigh happily. You still wear the same one you always did. He remembers because he’d more or less conditioned himself to associate the nice scent with you. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”
Lando chuckles breathlessly, praying you’re not able to feel how fast his heart is beating through his shirt. “Too long.”
You pull away, holding him at arms’ length, studying him with bright eyes. “You’re taller than me now.”
“I’d hope so. M’not sixteen anymore.”
“No, you’re not. You look good though, ” You say. You look like you mean it truthfully.
“How’ve you been?”
“Been better, but I’m…getting by, all things considered.” You shrug, sliding into the chair next to him.
Both of you swing sideways to face each other at the same time, knees knocking into each other as you do. You share an apologetic smile. Your hand blankets his where it rests on the table, squeezing a few times as your eyes light up with excitement.
You aren’t aware of just how much that one little move affects Lando.
“But what about you, McLaren’s newest Formula One driver? That’s so amazing. Seriously. I’m proud of you.”
He’s heard the compliment loads during his rookie year, but hearing it come from you makes his cheeks flush pink. He can feel the comfort of your words spreading from his face into his chest, tendrils of warmth wrapping around his rib cage. You’re proud of him, and it feels like he’s just won the world championship.
“Thank you,” He squeaks.
“I always knew you’d do great things.”
“You’ve been keeping up with my career?”
“‘Course I have,” You say warmly, nodding like it’s obvious. “It’s not everyday you can say you’ve known one of the up and coming talents of Formula 1 since you were kids.”
“We’ve come a long way since then, haven’t we?”
“You, yeah. Me…well, let’s just say I’m still trying to figure things out.”
“You’re doing the best you can, aren’t you? Shouldn’t that be all that matters?”
“I suppose you’re right. Thank you, Lan. I needed to hear that.”
Silence stretches between the two of you, and Lando feels the need to break it.
“Y’know, I didn't know if you’d come. Since…y’know, whatever’s been going on all this time.” He doesn’t mean to prod, doesn’t mean it as anything other than him drawing a huge blank about why you haven’t been around.
Your expression still grows somber, brows creasing ever so slightly. “Max hasn’t told you anything?”
“Seemed like a sore subject, so I never pushed.”
“You must have a lot of questions then.” You murmur, tracing an idle finger over the pristine white table cloth. “About why I’ve been basically nonexistent for years.”
“I don't need to know. You’re here now, that's all that matters.”
“Y’know, you’ve always been so thoughtful, Lando. When we were all kids and Max was being…well, Max, you were always looking out for me, even though you didn’t have to.”
“I cared about you. Still do.”
It’s true. Lando cares about you in more ways than one, in more ways than just your little brother’s best friend should, but it isn’t something that he can help. You’ve still got him wrapped around your finger without even knowing it.
“So sweet.” You smile, squeezing his hand appreciatively, and Lando feels like he’s just been shown a new purpose. He wants to be the one to make you smile like this all the time, something he’s known in his heart for years. “So, tell me more about you. What’s it like in the big leagues?”
You wind up spending all night glued to each other’s side, filling one another in on what’s been going on in your lives since the last time you saw each other. Granted, it’s a bit more of him doing most of the talking with you on the listening end, but he gets the sense you’d rather have it that way.
He’ll gladly talk for hours if it meant you looking at him with the pride in your eyes you’ve had the whole night.
Eventually, the party rolls to an end, as all good nights unfortunately do. Lando wants to stay here, stay with you, but he can’t. He’s got an early morning and a day full of training tomorrow, so he’ll settle for walking you to your car after you’ve both said goodbye to Max.
You’ve got your arm looped through his as you make your way out of the restaurant with the rest of the dinner guests.
“This one’s me.” You jut your chin at the car coming up. If Lando isn’t mistaken, you almost sound kind of sad, but maybe he’s just looking too much into things because he doesn't want to leave. You leave his side, putting a little bit of distance between the two of you. “Thank you for keeping me company all night, Lando. It was really nice to see you again.”
“Likewise. I’ve…” He trails off into an airy chuckle, shoulders creeping towards his shoulders instinctively. For a moment, he wonders if he should even say anything. “I’ve missed you.”
“I missed you too,” You say softly, giving him a small smile. Lando feels his chest tighten at the sincerity in your tone. Then you step forward and wrap your arms around his neck in a hug and suddenly he’s just about ready to melt as his arms slide around you to return the embrace.
He isn’t expecting your lips against his cheek, or the way they linger a little longer than to be expected before you step away again. Heat blooms where you kiss him, zipping through his veins like the thrill of pushing the highest speed down the home straight towards the checkered flag.
“Don’t forget about me when you get to be a big hot shot in the racing world,” You say, only slightly teasing.
“Don’t think I could.”
He watches you get into your car and drive away, hands in his pockets, wishing he was brave enough to tell you how he feels about you. Some other time, maybe. One day he’ll muster up the confidence to say something.

No matter how many times Lando comes home to race at Silverstone, the feeling never goes away.
A mix of joy, pride, the unmistakable vice-like grip of anxiety. Lando is excited, no doubt, but all he wants to do is make his home crowd proud. His family is here, his friends are here. Everyone is counting on him to do something amazing.
He’s got a hundred things to do before he has to head down to the garage to gear up, a methodical mental checklist to get through in not a lot of time.
Buzzing with nervous energy, he paces the top level of the motorhome, amping himself up while also trying to calm himself down. He’s barely managed to eat anything all day, as evident by the basically untouched chicken wrap sitting on the table next to him.
Sure, he’s raced at Silverstone before, but this is the first year he actually has a shot at winning the whole thing. The car has proved to be a speed demon, and he’s been killing it this season, but neither of those help his nerves.
It makes his stomach twist more than anything. It’s one thing to not win because he doesn't have the facilities to do it, it's entirely worse to know he can win and still let everyone down.
“Well, if it isn’t little Lando Norris.”
He freezes at the unexpected voice. Your voice.
His mind flashes back to the last time he saw you, at Max’s birthday party. How you talked all night, and kissed him on the cheek before you parted ways.
It’s been three years since then, and you’ve stayed in close touch with each other, but you haven’t seen each other in person since that night. It isn’t either of your faults—life got in the way and neither of yours lined up. Nonetheless, he’s grown closer to you these past few years than he ever has, which definitely doesn’t help the massive crush he still has on you.
Part of him thinks he really needs to move on—he’s been in love with you for so many years he doesn’t even remember the exact number, but his feelings remain the same. Any relationship he’s tried to have, just to see if he could ever love someone else, has never lasted.
Lando thinks he might be stuck on you his whole life, if the entirety of his teenage years and first few of his young adult years have been any indication.
He’s very prone to wanting things he can’t have, it seems.
Lando gives his head a shake because it couldn’t be you. You couldn’t be here, because last he heard from Max, you were somewhere out of the country on a work trip and wouldn’t be able to make it to Silverstone for the race. It’s a bummer for sure, but Lando knows you would've come if you could. Max told him you sounded downright upset about it on your check in call earlier in the week to break the news.
He turns slowly, hesitantly. Hopefully. His fingers tighten on the water bottle he’s got clutched in his hands.
There you are, looking back at him like something straight out of his dreams.
You’re older now, as he is too, but there’s something different about you. About how you hold yourself. Like you've finally settled into the person you were meant to be. It isn’t something he could’ve clocked in on through texts and grainy video calls, but he sees it now, clear as day.
“Hi.”
“You’re here,” He breathes, disbelieving. He isn’t able to stop himself from rushing forward, bringing you into a very tight, very excited hug that lifts you off your feet.
You let out a surprised noise at his enthusiasm, barely managing to hook an arm over around his shoulders so you wouldn’t go flailing as he spins you around.
He puts you down soon after, still beaming as he takes you in. “How are you here? I thought—Max said you were on a work trip!”
“I asked him to keep it a secret,” You chuckle, spreading a palm across his chest to steady yourself. “Wanted to surprise you for your home race. Hope that’s okay?”
“More than okay! It’s so good to see you again,” He insists, folding you into another, albeit much quicker hug. He holds you at arm's length right after. “You look really good.”
“I feel good,” You say sincerely. “Think I’m finally getting the hang of this whole life thing.”
“That’s amazing. I’m proud of you for pushing through, sticking it out,” Lando murmurs, just as genuine. There’s nothing better than seeing you finally find a good place, happy with where you are and what you’re doing. It’s all he’s ever wanted for you.
“Thank you. But oh my god, look at you!” You exclaim, taking his face in your hands. You pinch his cheeks the same way you used to do, but the way you’re looking at him feels much different than before.
There’s something that isn’t quite the same, like something about what you think of him has changed. The thought burrows its way deeper into his brain when one hand slides down to his chest for a few beats.
“You’ve grown up quite a bit again, haven’t you?”
He laughs, a little high pitched and a little breathless. “Yeah well, you know what they say about second puberty.”
“Still got the same cute laugh though.” You smile at him brightly, and it's like the sun has just poked its way through the dreary British fog for the first time in ages. His heart does an involuntary tap dance against his ribcage. “Right, well, I’ll leave you to it then. Sorry if I, like, disturbed your pre-race rituals or anything, I just wanted to pop in and say hi before things get crazy.”
“No, no, I’m glad you did. I think I needed to see a familiar face. Between you and me, I’m kinda freaking out.”
“Oh, Lan,” You sigh, squeezing his hand. “You’re gonna do great.”
“Hope so.”
“You will,” You insist firmly. “Don’t think about the people, don’t think about the crowd. Just trust your gut, and drive like hell.”
Lando didn’t know it before, but your words are exactly the thing he needs right now. He sighs deeply, letting his shoulders relax just the slightest bit.
“Anyways, I better go. Max is probably wondering where I’ve wandered off to.”
He clears his throat, giving his head a little shake. “Yeah, I should—I probably need to get going as well.”
“Good luck, be safe, all that. I’ll be the loudest one cheering you on.”
Lando hears himself call out your name when you’re a few steps away from the door. You turn back to him, and he knows this is the moment. He’s about to do something he’s never had the balls to do before, never in the nine years he’s been in love with you. Only today, right here, he’s never felt more sure of himself.
He’s trusting his gut.
“Would you wanna grab a drink tonight? Dinner too, if you’re up for it?”
“Yeah, ‘course! I’ll text my brother, see if he’s free.”
“No,” He blurts. You arch a surprised brow at his sudden outburst. “Sorry, I just—I meant like, maybe just the two of us.”
You’re quiet for a few moments, and it feels like the longest couple seconds of his life. But then you nod, breaking into a big grin. “I’d really like that.”
Lando doesn’t want to get his hopes up in fear of possibly jinxing it, but it feels like maybe, just maybe, he might have a chance with you. After all these years, he’s no longer just a little kid to you, no longer just your little brother’s best friend.
The thought of that pumps him up better than a race in front of his home crowd ever could.
-------
twenty five
He’s done it.
Lando's just won in Abu Dhabi, gotten his fourth win of his career—his fourth win of the season. McLaren has just won the constructor’s championship for the first time in twenty six years, and Lando’s been an instrumental part in making it happen.
The moment he steps out onto the front of the car, hears the crowd cheering for him, he can barely even believe it. It doesn’t feel real at all.
He wants to find you. He knows you’re here somewhere, probably with his family in the garage. He also knows he doesn’t have the time to find you, not until after he’s taken care of his post race duties.
Lando doesn't see you until he returns to the pit lane in front of the McLaren garage.
The whole team is gathered there, chattering excitedly amongst themselves. He can feel the energy buzzing through the atmosphere, the pure excitement and joy of a long awaited championship not only for everyone here, but the whole team of papaya back at the factory too.
This is their time as much as it is his, if not even more. They’re the reason he’s able to live this dream every single day, and for that, he’ll never be able to say enough thank yous.
Instead, he’ll work even harder next season, keep pushing and honing his craft until he’s able to truly show his gratitude towards them.
But for now, he’ll celebrate. After a long, grueling (but fulfilling) season, he’s earned that.
He breaks into a jog towards the huddle, breaking into a face-splitting grin as he jumps into the team celebrations happily. Person after person clap him on the back on his way to his place beside the giant papaya sign, even after the team photo is taken and he gets doused by champagne from all sides.
Lando feels like a million bucks. This feeling has been a long time coming, a long time needed. If he could bottle it up and save it forever, he would.
There’s only one thing that could make this moment even better.
He turns to the crowd behind the barriers, searching, searching, searching for his loved ones until—
There you are, standing with his family just as he’d thought you’d be, cheering so hard he thinks you might even be crying.
Man, are you a sight for sore eyes. You’ve both been busy the past few weeks, him with this triple header and you with your job. You’d barely made it to this race, but he’s happy you’re here. Even happier you were here to see him win.
He makes his way towards you all, doling out hugs to everyone, not able to wipe the smile from his face as he chats with each of them.
His parents, his sister, and finally…you.
You’re beaming just as big as he is when he stops in front of you, flinging your arms around his neck in the tightest hug. He lets out a sigh of content, lifting you off your feet a bit in a hug just as tight, burying his face into the crook of your neck as he does so.
“Hi, baby,” He breathes, running his hands down from your shoulders to your forearms as soon as he puts you down again. “What’d you think?”
“What do I think?” You exclaim, taking his face in your hands. “I think you did amazing! I think I’ve cried, like, four times already since the race ended, honestly.”
He laughs, wrapping his fingers around your wrists. “I made you cry?”
“Yeah, you made me cry, you muppet! I’m so fucking proud of you,” You tell him, sounding nothing but truly sincere. There’s tears in your eyes again, happy tears for him, and he feels a surge of adoration bloom in his chest. “Congratulations, Lan. You’re destined for so much greatness, I know it.”
He’s sweaty, sticky, and doused in champagne, but he still feels on top of the world at the joy in your eyes.
“I love you,” He blurts. He couldn’t have stopped the words spilling from his mouth even if he tried.
Maybe it’s the adrenaline, maybe it’s knowing there’s no better time than the present, but it’s out there now. The past five months you’ve been dating have been absolutely mint, but Lando doesn’t think he could’ve gone another moment without telling you.
You let out a watery sort of chuckle, sliding a hand into the hair at the nape of his neck and bringing him in for a kiss.
You’ve kissed before—a lot, actually—but this one feels different. Better. The giant secret that he’s been holding in from you for years and years is finally out, and it’s like a weight lifted off his chest.
“I love you too, Lan,” You murmur, words pressed against his lips like they're something reserved only for him. “God, I love you.”
There goes his heart right then, the last piece of his heart that he’d saved for the day he wasn’t sure would ever come. The last piece of his heart that belonged to him now belongs to you, and in this moment, you’ve got all of it.
All of Lando’s heart is now yours.
Lando didn’t think this day could get any better, but now there’s this. The woman of his dreams, the one he’s been in love with since you were both kids, finally loves him back.
He’s not sure what heaven is like, but Lando imagines it might be something like this.
Here, under the Abu Dhabi sky, he’s gotten the championship, he’s finally gotten his girl. To him, there’s nothing better than it.

Don’t Take It Personal
Summary: you’re a little worried about how much time Vi is spending with her new friend
Part 2
Warnings: vi’s kind of a dumbass, ngl. Angst probably. R plays a sport for the plot (just vibe guys) loser!vi au
WC: 1.6k
Tumblr media
Vi made a new friend.
That was a rare feat for her, seeing how out of the few people she considers a friend included you, her girlfriend, and Jinx, her sister.
She came home beaming after her usual workout at the gym. There was a new face she didn’t recognize and to Vi’s surprise, the friendly chat turned into a new friendship.
Her name was Caitlyn Kiramman. You knew her name, seeing the title “Kiramman” around a few buildings. Caitlyn was studying abroad for a few months, hence why Vi didn’t meet her until now. And yet, the new friendship was blossoming quickly. You didn’t mind, just happy that she managed to make more friends without you being present.
That was until Vi started hanging out with her more than you.
Srry, babe cant make it. At the gym wth Cait 💪🏻
11:23am
You frowned a bit at the recent text Vi sent you. You were at the library waiting for her for your weekly study date but when she was almost half an hour late you finally texted her. Only for your girlfriend to take a raincheck. Again.
Seeing how Vi wasn’t showing up, you still decided to stay for at least another hour; work still needed to be done with or without her. When you did decide to leave, you had to pass by the gym in order to go home. You figured Vi was still inside so you didn’t bother to linger until you heard a familiar voice.
”I’ll see you around, cupcake!”
Cupcake?
You turned to see Vi and Caitlyn leaving the large building. Vi immediately saw you and rushed over to you. Caitlyn gave you a polite wave before going her own way.
She was calling her ‘cupcake.’ You felt a little irritated at the—at your— nickname Vi called Caitlyn. Granted, ‘cupcake’ wasn’t one that was used very often, only when Vi was teasing or being purposely irritating to you. But still. It was your name.
Pushing the negative feelings aside you greeted Vi with a kiss. She smiled into it then pulled you into a tight hug, her arms almost crushing you.
”You stick, Vi,” you muttered into her neck.
A soft laugh escaped her. “You enjoy it. What are you doing here?”
”Going home. Then I saw you and…cupcake.”
”Don’t be like that,” Vi groaned, trying to play it off. “I didn’t mean anything by it.”
“Never said you did.” You tried to change the subject, not wanting to make it a big deal. “Are you going to my game Friday or are you going to be too busy with Caitlyn. It’s the last one of the season, Vi.”
“Hey, have I ever missed a game before?” She asked rhetorically. ”But if it makes you feel better, I promise that I’ll be there.”
”Good.”
Vi then wrapped her arm around you, putting you in an almost headlock, and started walking in the direction of the same apartment. “Let’s go. I’m exhausted.”
While what Vi said did ease some of you worrying, it didn’t stay for long. For the rest of the week, Vi was still with Caitlyn. Even though you attended most of the same classes, and stayed in the same home, you only saw her in passing or for only an hour at night. And every word that came out of her mouth was about the other girl.
“I really think you’ll like Cait, she reminds me of you.”
“Caitlyn squatted 210 today! She’s catching up to me.”
”I’m sorry, baby. Cait and I made plans to see that movie. You can still come!” You hate to admit it but that comment made you pissed off more than anything.
Caitlyn, Caitlyn, Caitlyn. You haven’t even properly met the girl yet it seemed like you knew everything about her.
When Friday finally came, you just hoped Vi would pay more attention to you rather than her friend. Unfortunately, you were proven wrong.
Hey, pretty, the game is starting soon. Are you still coming?
6:37pm
Yoooo Viiii??
7:01pm
Violet, dude, where are you??
7:15pm
Your leg tapped nervously against the ground, scanning the crowd for the familiar pink haired girl, but you came up dry. In the crowd you could see Jayce, Viktor and Mel who all gave you encouraging smiles. Even Jinx showed up, sitting next to Ekko. She gave you a small shrug at your questioning glance before turning back to your phone, possibly texting her sister.
The coach got your attention, urging you to join your teammates on the court. And with a heavy, disappointed sigh, you got up from the bench. You couldn’t focus on Vi anymore, but you still hoped that she would show up sometime during the game. She did promise after all.
But throughout the game, that familiar full head of pink hair was nowhere to be seen. There was an empty spot next to Jinx that was never filled. Trying to ignore the wide open space was almost impossible, but the game was won without Vi cheering for you. Sure, the ball did slip from your hands more times than you’d like to admit, but your team won.
Your friends that did decide to show up wanted to take you out for the rest of the night, a congratulatory dinner, but you weren’t feeling it. And while Jinx doesn’t like saying the word no, she surprisingly let you go home after you refused. You really just wanted to see if or when Vi would be home.
It was nearing nine at night and Vi still hadn’t called you and your recent text went unanswered. The TV was playing a show, mostly used as background noise as your thoughts took over you.
Almost thirty minutes later, you could hear some noise coming from the hallway.
The door to the apartment opened and you could hear Vi humming a song to herself when she locked up for the night. From your spot on the couch, you saw nothing wrong with her so you were glad to know she was safe. But now she had to dig herself out of the hole she dug.
Vi actually seemed surprised to see you but the smile she gave you was instant. “Oh, hey, babe. Why are you still up?”
”Waiting for you,” you shot back, moving to get closer to her. “It’s been hours Vi, we all have been calling and texting you—“
Vi showed you her phone, a black screen staring back at you. “It died a while ago. What’s with the third degree?”
”Do you remember what day it is?”
”Um…the tenth?”
”Um, maybe it’s the day of my game that you’d promise to come to,” you mocked. Yeah, you were being petty but you thought she deserved it.
Vi muttered a small curse to herself and she looked genuinely apologetic. “Y/N, I’m so sorry. I swear, I was going to come but then my phone died, and-and I was with Caitlyn and—“
A heavy sigh escaped you at the name. “Caitlyn, right yeah. That makes sense.”
A look came on Vi’s face, one you knew too well when she was about to become argumentative. “What are you talking about?”
”You’ve been spending a lot of time with her, Vi,” you pointed out. “I’ve noticed it— we all have. You’re always with her.”
”We’re friends!”
”You’re friends with Jayce but when’s the last time you’ve hung out with him since meeting Caitlyn? Is she too rich for chargers so you couldn’t check your phone for five minutes?”
Vi scoffed at you. “What, you want me to stop hanging out with Caitlyn just because you’re jealous?”
”I have nothing to be jealous of, Violet!” You yelled. “Cait’s a friend, I get that. But you have been blowing me off time and time again for her. And the one time I actually needed you, you were with her instead. How the hell do you expect me to feel?”
A short pause came from Violet. And what she said next, set your skin aflame.
”I just think you’re overreacting. It’s a fucking game, I’ll just watch the next one.”
“Okay, you know what,” you paused, running your hands over your face; it didn’t do much to calm your heated nerves. “I’m not doing this with you, right now, Vi.”
Vi’s tense posture immediately changed at the tone of your voice; it was shaky, as if you were holding back tears. You almost never cried, at least in front of her, so the new sight was worrisome. She heard you breath in harshly before continuing.
“I’m way too upset at you right now to even finish this conversation,” you said quietly to her. “I’m tired…and honestly just want some space from you.”
Vi swore her heart stopped at those words. Space? “You…Y/N, you can’t be serious.” Space was the main thing Vi hated. It meant you leaving her.
”I am, actually.” Your back was turned from her at that point so you couldn’t see her face fall in disbelief at the sight of you getting ready to leave the apartment.
She knew you made up your mind and were done hearing her but Vi still had to try. “Babe, don’t go. You’re right, is that what you want to hear? I’m sorry, alright?”
”Glad you came to your senses,” you muttered, albeit bitterly.
Vi was desperate at this point. “You don’t have to leave! I can sleep out here!”
”When I said ‘space’, Vi, I meant completely,” you said. Your voice was starting to get tense, a tell that you were getting annoyed. “My parents live a few minutes away, remember? I'll be fine.”
”Y/N please, just—“
“Vi! I’ll…talk to you eventually,” was the last thing you said before the door closed behind you.

Carlos Sainz and rumored new girlfriend, Y/N - everything you need to know
By F1Gossip Contributor
Rumors have been swirling around the paddock this week as summer break comes to a close and the drivers are set to make their return this weekend. Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, was caught at the beginning of the break leaving a posh dinner with a mystery girl. Since then the pair have been spotted out at dinner again, in a coffee shop and even driving around in Monaco.
Fans have been speculating that the mystery girl is, Y/N Y/L/N and the most recent sightings of the two in Monaco all but confirms this.
Now you may be wondering - who is Y/N? Y/N is your normal corporate girly by all accounts. Our sources have shared that Y/N met Carlos by chance one night in Australia while she was on vacation and he was out celebrating with some drivers. Not much is known about her - she’s from [home country], works as a [insert job] and has been with Carlos for at least a few months now. Currently all of her socials are private.
Carlos soft launched their relationship via instagram just a few days ago. We have to wonder - will we see Y/N in the paddock this weekend?

She doesn’t see me yet. I definitely see her.
She’s on her tippy toes that are covered in festive fluffy socks. My gaze drags up her legs to her ass, she’s got these nauseatingly tiny shorts on and a cropped baggy shirt to match.
Her arm is outstretched to try and get a mug but I can’t focus on anything but her. She’s biting her lip, a frustrated look on her face that’s making my mind think very inappropriate things. Her hair is messy and looking perfectly pullabl-
“Shit!” She reaches it, and promptly drops it, causing it to smash onto the tile.
Y/n drops to her knees, looking under the sink for something as her back arches, her head disappearing into the cabinet as I practically drool over her.
“Fucking hell.” I mumble, walking forward to help her and ignore my body’s reaction to hers. “Clumsy this early in the morning, huh sunshine?”
She glares at me, a tiny broom in her hand as she cleans up her mess.
“Let me help.” I go to reach for the broom but she pulls back, saying no and landing on her ass. My smile fades as I recognize the look on her face. “You alright?”
She crosses her legs, dropping the broom and shoving her face into her hands, “Yes.” It’s mumbled and clearly a lie.
I start cleaning up her mess, it’s not a lot and I don’t really know what else to do in her presence. I stand and dump the ceramic pieces in the trash, joining her on the floor again and poking her knee.
“Thanks.” She sounds stuffy, like she’s about to cry. She almost makes me feel bad for checking her out so much while she’s so sad.
“Talk to me, Sunny.” She sniffles and looks up at me. She's not crying but her eyes are red teary.
“I hate when you’re nice to me.” She pushes her hair back, her hands covered from her sleeves. I blink and she sighs, knowing that I want her to continue, “My ex.”
I don’t mean to groan but at least my dramatic act makes her laugh a bit, hitting my knee.
“He won’t stop calling. And I can’t block him because I work with the wanker!” She says exhausted, answering my question about the block button yesterday.
“Well at least he has one thing correct.” She raises a brow at my words, “He knows he lost someone good.”
Y/n shakes her head, “I hate him, Lando.” She breathes, “I hate him more than you.”
This makes me frown, sarcastically saying, “I’m flattered.”
She smiles a bit just as her phone dings again, she screams and puts her head back in her hands, “Y/n.” I say her name for the first time in a while, “Have you responded at all?”
She shakes her head, “I can’t.” She whispers it and I'm worried she actually wants him back. I never met him, but her instagram photos were enough for me to hate him.
I hear footsteps down the stairs, P coming around the corner humming, her smile slowly fading as she spots the two of us on the floor. “Good morning?”
I take Y/n’s hand and practically drag her upward, “Morning, P.” Y/n groans and leans against the counter, tearing her hand away from me and shoving her face into the tabletop now.
P points at Y/n, looking at me quizzically as I shake my head. She understands and skips over to the coffee machine, we sit in silence as P makes Y/n a hot chocolate.
Y/n smiles softly as P hugs her and hands her the hot chocolate. P continues to make her breakfast as I look at Y/n. She’s storing her drink and looking depressed.
It’s christmas! No time for sadness and sucky ex’s! I slide her the marshmallows as her wides widen a bit, smiling at me before dumping half the bag in.
My stomach does a weird thing at the way she looks at me… when Max joins us, I’m quickly distracted but still feel a tiny bit sick. “So! What are you two doing tonight while we’re out?”
Max asks as I scratch the back of my neck, “Um…”
“Movie night!” Y/n looks happier now, “Get ready Norris, welcome to the wonderful world of cheesy romances.”

Outside looks like a snowstorm yet we brave it for a quick brunch at a tiny diner that’s packed. I pull off my beanie, my hair a mess.
Lando unravels his scarf, laughing at me, “Looking good, Sunshine.” I stick my tongue out at him as Max ruffles my hair even more.
We sit and eat and for once, there’s no odd tension. I don’t yell at Lando and he doesn’t tease me. P and Max are squished together on the booth side while Lando’s arm is strewn around the back of my chair.
I let it slide because he looks like he’s in a food coma. His eyes are closed and he’s peacefully resting his head to the side.
Our comfortable silence turns to Lando and Max fighting over who’s paying while P and I wave at the baby sitting next to us.
Lando’s fingers wiggle next to my head, leaning in closer to see the baby. She giggles as Lando pokes my face and I give him an annoyed look.
The mom is looking at us so I smile and laugh a bit, “Sorry, she’s adorable.”
“Don’t be!” her hand pulls the cover back so we can see her more. Her little hands scrunch up and Lando and I make the same noise at the same time, “This is June. We call her sunny because- well it just fits her happy little personality!”
I feel Lando’s hand stop moving next to me as P and Max continue gushing over her. Lando clears his throat, “She looks like you.”
The mom smiles wider, “Thank you. You four are just adorable! Are you all here for christmas?”
Max nods, “I dragged my girlfriend and my best friend to have a quiet christmas.”
P smiles as Max squeezes her arm, “Which ultimately failed because these two never shut up.”
Lando laughs, “Like you’re one to talk! You and Y/n speak in a whole different language.” He goes back to playing peek-a-boo with the baby who just adores him.
“She likes you.” The mom says to Lando, “He’ll be good with kids.” She directs this at me which makes my breath cut out and Lando go into a fit of coughs.
Our waiter brings back our cards as P grabs her bag, “It was really nice meeting you. We have to run to the store for our new tradition!”
I raise a brow, “New tradition?”
Max is smiling like an idiot, “Gingerbread contests are back! Don’t be scared sis, just accept your loss now.”

Up until we were Ten and Eleven, Max and I made gingerbread houses every year. I'm not sure why we stopped, maybe because our parents hated how it always ended in tears because everything we did was a competition.
Max’s great idea was to start this up again. So we gathered the boxes and some extra supplies just to make a complete mess of the dining area while Sabrina Carpenter’s christmas music blasts and Max and I scream at each other.
We’ve made a sort of barrier right down the middle of the table. With my luck, Max picked his girlfriend to be on his team because there were only two houses left in the store.
So Lando and I are elbow deep in shitty frosting and tears of laughter. He wipes his eyes but gets frosting onto his face while doing it, “No you-” grabbing my hand, he moves it to steady the already falling house.
We’re a mess and it’s not helping that Lando keeps eating the gumdrops, “Norris!” I yell and slap his hand, “You’re killing my gumdrop families!”
“Your gumdrop families are yummy.” I roll my eyes as he mumbles to himself.
Max and P don’t fight but I'm pretty sure Lan and I sound like a war zone. I’m icing the roof while Lando drops random candy onto it. I kick him with my slipper under the table, “You’re ruining the aesthetic.”
He mimicks my voice, “You’re ruining the aesthetic. Just say you’re in love with me and get over it.” I scoff and hit him with a red vine.
He grins as he take a bite out of it while I laugh at how messy he’s gotten. “Shut up and come help me.” Lando pulls his seat back and sits on it backwards, resting his chin on the back of it and finally contributing.
We add more frosting, kinderds (per Lando’s request), candy canes, and some weird pearl candy P found.
I suck on a lolly while Lando continues to make the icing drip along the sides of the house, trying to mimic icicles. He’s very focused and flexes his arms while doing so. Squeezing out the partially hard icing and distracting me while doing it.
A loud bang sounds. Lando’s skeptical look and Max’s decision to shrug it off makes us continue on even when P starts to say it’s a ghost.
He sits back and admires his handy work, “You two are going down.” He says to Max and P, a mischievous expression on his face.
“Knowing you two… we’re fine.” P laughs and pokes her head around the barrier, her eyes are closed and her tongue out.
I scoff, “What does that mean!?”
I hear Max laugh now, “You’re a perfectionist and Lando’s biggest joy in life is to bug you!”
I stand up quickly, “You set me up!”
“All's fair in love and war.” I round the corner and look at their house. It’s perfect and pink!
I smile and cross my arms, “We can let the media decide this.”
Max smirks while P groans, “Can't we just end it here? You two are ridiculous.”
I grab Lando’s phone from his hand as he frowns, but doesn’t protest. I take a photo of Max holding their gingerbread house since P refused to be posted. Then I turn to Lando and smile, “Take your shirt off.”
“Hey! I expect that from Lando but not you!” Max eyes is both.
Lando head tilts as he looks at me curiously, “At least ask me on a date first, sunshine.” He does it anyways though, not caring out my brother.
“You’re totally unfairly manipulating this!” Max yells as Lando slips off his shirt and holds up our horrible little house.
I snap a photo of him grinning and flexing, and post it next to Max’s with a pole. “It’s called taking the matter into your own hands.”
Lando shivers as he pulls his shirt back on, smirking as he slips his finger into his mouth, cleaning off the icing and making eye contact with me. I clear my throat and turn to my friend who’s looking between the two of us.
“It’s cold in here, right?” P says suspiciously, “Babe, go turn up the heat.” Max disappears around the corner while we all start cleaning up and putting our houses on display on the windowsill
“It’s not moving!” Max yells from the other room, I can hear him hitting it.
“Maybe if you didn’t try to fix everything with force!” I stomp in and look at it with him, pressing my finger against the buttons.
“You’re not even trying-”
I groan, “You’re the one who-”
“Hey!” P yells, standing with her hands on her hips, “The rental lady said there’s a power box in the basement.”
Max pushes past me and hurries down the stairs I haven’t even gone near, “Christ he’s gonna blow us all up.” Lando follows as P shoots me a quick smile.
We can hear them arguing as I throw P a blanket and we wrap ourselves up and sit eating the extra candy. “Yours is so cute.” I sigh and look at her gingerbread house. It’s absolutely adorable and so her.
There’s tiny bows make out of red vines and pink starburst everywhere. She laughs, “I didn’t let Max touch it.” I laugh with her and pop a kinder into my mouth, “You and Lando are a good duo.”
I snort, “Right, a chaotic one.”
She shrugs, “Maybe. But I don’t know… It’s cute.” The second I realize where she’s going with this, I start to shake my head, “Listen!”
“No! No, Pietra! He’s… Fuck, He’s Lando Norris.” I’m still shaking my head as she dons an unconvinced expression.
“He flirts with you all the time!”
“In a joking way!” I argue, “And I can’t stand it!”
“He touches you a lot.”
“And It drives me crazy! He just likes pissing me off.”
She shakes her head slowly, a smile on her face as she brings the blanket up to her neck, “You like him.”
My face feels hot and I'm getting frustrated which is making it worse because she can tell, “He calls me names.”
“Yeah!” she scoffs, “an adorable nickname! That he made up when he was fifteen! The way he looks at you Y/n… it’s like- well…”
“Don’t say it!” I warn but the blonde doesn’t listen.
“It’s how Max looks at me.”
I sigh, putting my face in my hands, “P. Max is in love with you, Lando doesn’t…” My sentence ends in a whisper as she smirks, “I barely like him as a friend! Like literally three days ago I couldn’t stand him! Not much has changed.”
She shrugs, “By all means, keep it up. It’s entertaining to watch.” I roll my eyes and play with the wrapper in my hand as a bang comes from downstairs. “Just… you deserve someone like him.”
“He has like a million girlfriends.”
“He does not!” She laughs, “At least not anymore!” I give her a look as she reaches over and takes my hand, “All i’m saying is that I completely support whatever you do! Even if it’s a one night thing.” My eyes widen as she squeezes my hand and winks, “I won’t tell Max.”
I push her away and sit back in my chair, crossing my arms and smiling at my friend, “Also we’ll be gone for like three hours tonight.”
I laugh and throw a piece of candy at her as Lando and Max come up the stairs. Lando is picking cobwebs off of himself while Max wipes his hands on his jeans, “Welp, hopefully that worked.”

lando
“Let's watch Notting Hill.” She visibly pauses when I say it, looking at me confused with a bowl of popcorn over her blanket covered lap.
“Notting Hill!?” She repeats it, then shakes her head, “You never fail to surprise me, Lando.” I like it when she says my name, even when it’s a bit demeaning.
I lean my head back, she’s covered the couch in every blanket and pillow we could find. After the heater broke, she swore she was still cold so she’s extra bundled even though i’m sweating.
She finally tugs off her third layer of blankets and grabs the remote, “We’re watching a Christmas Prince.”
I frown but don’t say anything because I'm scared she’ll leave me down here alone and go call her best friend or something.
I’d rather play a game so we could talk or I could at least look at her, but she insists I have to watch this god awful movie.
She gave me some grace while eating delivered pizza and talking about the drivers she’s met which (scarily enough) is a lot.
Y/n is normally yelling at me during any movie to get me to shut up, but everytime I ask a question today, she answers in detail.
“Who’s this dick who took her cab!?” She smiles at my words, eating her popcorn and flipping her phone face down so it stops distracting her. “Ugly beard too.”
She gives me a look which makes me groan, “He’s the prince, isn’t he!?” She nods as I look up at her. Her hair is down and outright messy from her hood and the multiple blankets she has around her.
“It’s called a meet cute.” Y/n shrugs and watches the screen again.
“A meet cute?” I grab from her bowl, “But there was nothing cute about it.”
She eyes me, “Okay maybe it’s more of a meet hate… or a meet dislike? Maybe a meet argue.”
“Okay now I just want steak.” Y/n rolls her eyes again as I smile, “So, sort of like us?”
She sits up more, looking at me and laughing, “What would our meet hate be, then? I don’t even remember the first time we met.”
I’m a little offended because I do. “You were karting with Max and I for the first time and you totally ran me off the road!”
She turns more to me, “I don’t remember this but I'm going to stick up for my child self and say that it was your fault.”
My eyes roll. “You really have not changed. You blamed me for it because we were racing to win and Max got by both of us and ended up with the trophy.”
She laughs and fuck, I love that sound. “Sounds about right. But you definitely egged me on.”
“Oh one thousand percent! But I was just coping with the fact that the girl I had a crush on completely destroyed my ego!” I don’t really realize what I've said until she raises a brow.
“You had a crush on me!?” She laughs as I groan and shake my head.
I’m blushing now even though it was so many years ago, “I was like ten!”
“You fanciedddd me!” she drags out the words as she tries to pull the blanket off my head, “Norris!”
“Leave me alone!” She’s hitting me with a pillow now, “I had no idea what a terror you were!”
She scoffs, pulling back, “You little bitch, why didn’t you tell me?”
“I don’t know if you know this Sunshine, but you’re fucking terrifying.” Y/n’s eyes are teary from laughing and her smile is so big it almost makes me happy she found out.
“So what, you stopped having a crush on me when you actually got to know me?” I don’t want to lie to her, and I don’t know if I can about this.
“Shhh…” I grab a handful of the popcorn, “watch the movie.” She lays closer to me, her hair brushing my shoulder and our eyes both go back to the screen.
Y/n and I aren’t this close often. We aren’t ever alone. And I have to admit, the one thing I dislike about my best friend is that he is adamant on keeping me away from his sister.
His ‘Hands to yourself’ reminder before he left was enough fuel to my fire for the night.
“She’s annoying.” I groan after way too many minutes of this movie. I’m pretty sucked in though I won’t admit that to Y/n.
“That is a common theme with these movies.” She nuzzles her head closer to me, “It adds to the charm.”
“Does it?” I frown and adjust myself, trying to get more comfortable and slipping my arm around her and expecting to be met with criticism.
She stays quiet though, just rests her head against my shoulder and shifts to the side.
I don’t know if she realizes it, but she’s been playing with the sleeve of my hoodie for the past twenty minutes. I don’t want to move, I don’t want the movie to be over, I don’t want her to hate me again.
Her phone rings and a small groan comes from her, she sits up, her warmth leaving me. “I thought I turned this stupid thing off.” She grabs her phone, flipping it around and rolling her eyes at the contact.
WHORE DO NOT ANSWER
Is the contact name with a picture of her ex with drawn on devil horns. I can tell she’s about to hang up but I always act on impulse.
Her phone is in my hand in seconds, pressing answer and holding it to my ear as she screams and jumps on me. “Y/n?” It’s a guys voice and I hate him instantly, “You finally picked up!”
I flip Y/n off my back and shove my hand over her mouth, trying to hold her down while I listen to her ex’s annoying voice.
“Hey!” I say just as the line goes quiet at the sound of another man’s voice.
“Who’s this?” I roll my eyes at him even though only Y/n can see me. She’s squirming and mumbling under my hand. She is remarkably easy to hold back for how determined she is.
“None of your business! How about we cut to the problem at hand and discuss why the fuck you’re still calling Y/n after you cheated on her?” he tries to talk but I cut him off, “Take a long look in the mirror bud because you will never be good enough to win her back.”
“Is this her new boyfriend?” He asks sternly.
“I’ll tell you that i’m not someone to fuck with, especially when it comes to Y/n. You don’t deserve to ever even look at her again but she is a professional woman who can be civil, even if it is towards a jackass like you.” He’s quiet now and Y/n is getting free so I hurry up, “Y/n has been gracious and practically a fucking saint to deal with your shit for the past year so stop calling!”
She finally breaks free and ends the call, out of breath and looking at me like I'm worthy of death.
She throws her phone onto the couch, on her knees and pushing back her messy hair. “He completely deserved it.” I try to back myself up as I fall onto my elbows, looking up at her.
She’s staring at me still, and I'm slightly scared for my life. But then her eyes soften and she does the most unexpected thing i’ve ever experienced.
She kisses me.
Her hands are on my face and her lips are squished against mine. We fall back on the blankets as my hands find her waist and I fully understand what’s happening.
I kiss her back, hard and fast like if I don’t take this opportunity now, it might never happen again.
She’s on top of me and just the weight of her makes my dick twitch. I slip my hands under her hoodie, her skin warm and soft. She lets out a little whimper when my hands tighten against her hips, unconsciously grinding into me.
“Fuck.” I mumble against her lips as her hands go to my hair. She’s breathing heavier and just as i’m about to start on her neck, the door opens.
She’s off me in a second, “Fuck.” Her hand goes to her mouth and her eyes go wide as the footsteps of our friends echo through the house.
“Oh, of course.” I say exasperatedly, sitting up and dragging a pillow onto my lap.
“Landooo! Y/n!” Max calls for us as I point at her lips which are now the same shade of red as her cheeks.
I reach over and smooth out Y/n’s hair. She looks so genuinely shocked and scared while I'm just annoyed that we had to be interrupted.
She plops down on the other side of the couch, pulling the blanket up high to her face and avoiding my eyes. “In here!” I mumble as they walk through the doors.
I look back to see Max and P all dressed up and smiling. They look wine drunk, holding hands while P kicks off her heels.
“Movie time!” P giggles and rounds the couch to sit next to Y/n who makes eye contact with me and for some reason, makes me laugh.
Max wraps his arm around P while looking at us funny. Y/n is giggling now while I just cover my face with a pillow and shake my head, “So what are we watching?”
P picks another hallmark movie and I make eye contact with Y/n again. I start laughing and Max seems genuinely annoyed this time, “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing.” I say quickly. “How was your night?”
“Perfect!” P snuggles into her boyfriend, “How about you two?”
Y/n shrugs as if she wasn’t on top of me moments ago, “Boring. Lando hated the movie.”
“I did not! I was just distracted.” No one bats an eye at my excuse except for Y/n who hides her smirk with her hot chocolate.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stared blankly for a moment, at the door in front of me. My heart was racing as I tried to will my hand to move. I only had to ask a simple question. Yet, I can not bring myself to know on the door. If I didn’t do this. I would likely fail the assignment and the internship. But the man was so smart and intense. I was too intimidated by him. What if I could not speak and only caused myself to look like a fool? I’d surely lose the internship then.
I took a deep breath looking down at the paper in my hand. I had to do this. This is important. I looked back at the closed office door in front of me. Tentatively, I reached up and tapped my knuckles lightly against the wood.
“Come in,” A gentle male voice answered my knock. With a shaky breath, I forced a smile on my face and grabbed the handle opening the door. His eyes shifted from his computer as I took a step into his office. A warm smile spread across his face once he recognized me.
“Sorry to bother you, Mr. Kent, I’ve finished my paper and I just wanted to ask if you could look over my revisions?” My voice came out quieter than I’d planned. I often had that problem when speaking to him.
“It’s no bother at all, I’ve been expecting you to drop by. Take a seat, I’d be happy to look it over.” He offered, gesturing to the chair in front of him. Professor Kent teaches a Journalism class at the university. He also works full-time for the Daily Planet paper. He’s incredibly intelligent. Each year he considers a few of his students for an internship with the newspaper. But only one of us could earn that position. I really want it. And currently, I’m one of his top candidates.
I took a seat across from him trying to calm my nerves as I extended the paper out to him. He met my eyes. “You know, Journalism is more than just writing, and telling a captivating story. It’s about doing things that scare you, doing things that make you uncomfortable to chase down what you want to find.” He looked down at my shaky fingers as he slid the paper from my grip.
“I understand that you’re nervous. But you have no reason to be. You continue to surprise me with just how far you’ll go with each assignment you turn in. If I were to make the final decision…” He paused looking up to make sure the door was closed, so no one would hear. “The internship would be yours,” he smiled. I blushed.
“Thank you, Professor Kent. That means a lot.” I relaxed a bit as he leaned forward in his chair and started to read through my article. This article is my final piece. And it’s what will be submitted to the Daily Planet as my entry for the internship. I bit my lip awkwardly, trying desperately not to stare at his face as he read. His fingers tapped on the table as he looked up from the desk.
“Y/n, This is incredible.” He smiled. My cheeks flushed staring down at my hands in my lap.
“You don’t have to say that,” I stuttered.
“I don’t,” He agreed, “But it’s true. I’ve only been teaching on campus for about 5 years but I’ve never had a student as dedicated as you. I’m impressed. I think Ms. Lane will be too.” I nodded, giving him a shy smile. “Are you ready to turn this in?” He asked. I nodded letting out a deep breath.
“Yeah, yes. I think so.” I said. He let out a chuckle.
“Don’t be nervous. It’s great. I’ll take this in, first thing tomorrow.”  He gave me a gentle smile.
“Thank you, So much. Professor Kent. I appreciate all you help!” I said as I stood to leave his office.
“Of course,” he paused. His eyes scanned me for a moment. But I was buzzing with too much nervous energy to notice the way they lingered. “And please call me Clark, I have a feeling we’ll be working together before long.” He winked. My heart pounded in my chest and I felt my cheeks heat up.
“Thank you…Clark.” I smiled. He gave me an approving nod before I turned and left his office.
The next week was agony.  We had two more classes with Professor….Clark, each time I stayed behind to ask if he’d heard anything. And each time he would give me a sympathetic smile and tell me to “hang in there,” just a little while longer. I should hear soon. He assured me that I was a good writer and that I shouldn’t get discouraged. But I couldn’t help it. Now it was almost 5 pm on Friday, surely if they didn’t call soon I wouldn’t know anything until Monday.
I paced my apartment phone in hand begging it to ring. But when I checked the time at 5:30 and still, nothing. I gave up. I let out a deep sigh, setting my phone down walking to the kitchen to pour a glass of wine. I set the glass on the counter and popped the cork. I filled the glass and almost dropped the bottle. My phone was ringing. I quickly set the bottle down and ran to the living room picking up the phone. I didn’t even check the number before I answered.
“Hello?” I answered almost out of breath.
“Hello, is this Y/n?” a female voice asked. I nodded but then remembered I was on the phone and quickly found my voice.
“Yes, Ma’am, it is,” I answered her. She didn’t miss a beat.
“Great, This is Lois Lane, with the Daily Planet. I understand this is a bit late on a Friday evening but do you have time to meet with me at the office tonight?” my mind raced trying to find the right words.
“Sure, I can be there in 15 minutes. If that’s alright?” I asked her. We agreed on the time and after I thanked her, the call ended.
I very quickly realized I was not in the proper attire for this meeting. I was in running shorts and a hoodie. I tore through my closet trying to find a pair of dress pants that would work. I found a simple white cotton top to pair them with and some flats and ran out the door. I fixed my messy bun in the apartment building's front doors before starting to walk. The Daily Planet’s main office was only a few blocks away.  I got it to the building just in time and made my way inside.
At the front desk, I introduced myself and was directed up to the 4th floor for my meeting with Lois. I stepped on the elevator and pushed the button for my floor.  I was starting to shake from the nerves. When the doors opened I was met with a familiar face. Standing at a desk a few feet away Clark was standing talking to a woman with auburn hair and kind eyes. They both looked up when the elevator sounded.
“Y/n,” He smiled. “I’m glad you could make it.” I smiled at him and the woman stood and turned to greet me.
“Miss Y/n, I’m Lois Lane. It’s nice to meet you.” she offered a kind smile. I shook her hand and she gestured for me to sit with her at her desk. “As you’re aware you and others from Mr. Kent's journalism course at the university have been under review for an internship with the Daily Planet. I would have just called but Clark insisted for you to come into the office.” She chuckled softly.
I looked up at Clark nervously, he squeezed my shoulder reassuring me. “Y/n,” Lois continued. “The Daily Planet would like to officially offer you the internship starting next week.” I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face.
“Thank you, Ms. Lane, I accept that offer. When do I start?” I asked, eagerly. She chuckled softly.
“I’ll send you an email with all of the details on Monday. You should be able to start with us on Tuesday.” I nodded.
“Thank you again,” I said. She nodded, giving me a smile.
“Of course. We’re excited to work with you,” she stood and started to gather her things. “I apologize, I’m not trying to rush you out of here. I’ve got a date this evening I don’t want to be late for. Clark, can you walk her out?” Clark nodded waving to Lois as she already started to head toward the elevator.
“Of course, I can, sorry for keeping you Lo, have fun tonight.”He winked. Lois rolled her eyes at him.
“Forever the gentleman,” she laughed, “ I’ll see you next week,” she said as the elevator doors closed behind her.
“I told you we’d be working together soon!” Clark chuckled. I turned to face him but I couldn’t find the words. Without thinking I wrapped my arms around his middle hugging him. He was a bit surprised at first but he returned the hug.
“Thank you,” I said softly. Remembering myself I pulled away quickly, my face flushed and embarrassed. “I-I’m so sorry, that was incredibly unprofessional. I-” Clark cut off my rambling.
“It’s alright. You earned this. And you’re going to do amazing things here, I’m sure.” He squeezed my shoulder encouragingly. “Let me walk you out.” I nodded and waited while he got his jacket off of his desk chair. We rode down in the elevator together and walked out through the main lobby. “Where’d you park?” He asked, offering to walk me to my car.
“Oh, um, I walked actually, I live close by,” I told him. Clark looked out the front doors and watched as rain was coming down outside. He frowned.
“Could I give you a ride? Call me old school but I certainly can’t let you walk home in this rain.”
I hesitated for a second. He looked back out at the rain and back to me, his eyes full of sincerity.
“Uh, I mean, it’s really not far,” I argued. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to. Just that my head was starting to get kindness and flirtation confused. I already embarrassed myself once with him today.
“It’s pouring rain, Y/n, it's no trouble I promise.” He countered. I gazed back outside. He was right, it had started to pour. I would be soaked just stepping out into it. Let alone walking all the way home. I looked back to Clark and nodded.
“Okay,” I spoke softly. I watched as Clark pushed the door open and then opened up his umbrella. Of course, he was prepared. I look even more foolish now.
“Come on,” He smiled. “There’s enough space for both of us under here.” He chuckled. He walked us out to his car and opened my door for me holding the umbrella while I got in so I wouldn’t get wet.
It was quiet for a moment while he started the car. I had to remind myself again that just because a man is being nice doesn’t mean he’s interested. I looked over at him, his head turned back as he pulled out of the parking spot. I don’t know when I’d developed this little crush on him but it had to stop now. God, he was handsome though. His jaw was sharp, but his eyes were a soft but intense blue. His curls were dark and I found I desperately wanted to know what it felt like to drag my fingers through them. I shook my head. No, he’s my professor. He’s at least 15 years older than me. I shouldn’t be thinking about him like that. He surely didn’t see me that way. And we work together now. I have to be professional.
I pushed down my thoughts and focused, directing Clark to my apartment building. He paused abruptly when I pointed out the parking lot. He crooked an eyebrow his face completely surprised.
“No, this is it? Really?” He asked.
“Uh… yeah” I answered hesitantly. Clark let out an awkward chuckle.
“I’m sorry, It’s just funny. I live in the building too. I’m on the 5th floor.” He said. My brows raised completely shocked.
“I’m on 3.” I stuttered.
“I can’t believe we’ve never run into each other.” He laughed dumbfounded. We got out of the car. Clark met me with the umbrella. We took the elevator up together.
“Have a great evening,” He started “I’ll see you next week,” He smiled. I blushed softly.
“You too Clark,” I said as the elevator opened to my floor.
“Oh and if you ever need a ride to work, Just let me know,” he winked. I giggled softly and waved as the doors closed.
I’m royally fucked.
I started with the Daily Planet the following Tuesday. I expected that they would have me refill copy machines or make coffee or file documents in the archives. I was shocked when I was given an assignment. It wasn’t in the field. It wasn’t going to be printed. But they told me if I wanted to eventually work for the planet then seeing how I handled personal assignments was key. It was due to Lois at the end of the week. Only 4 days to do research and write the article. I sat at my desk and poured over everything I could get my hands on. It felt a little lonely. My desk was farther away from the main writers and it was a bit smaller. But it would do. Clark and sometimes a few of the others would offer me to join them for lunch during the week but I usually skipped it. This was important. If I wanted to earn respect and make myself a place around here this had to be good.
On Friday I was once again working at my desk, typing like mad trying to finish and edit my article.
“You don’t have to work yourself so hard. You’ve already earned your spot you know?” Clark's voice said from somewhere next to me.
“How many of your students have been hired on at the Planet after the internship Mr Kent?” I asked. He started to protest the question. Then he let out a deep sigh leaning against my desk.
“Two,” He answered honestly.
“I may have the internship, but I haven’t earned my place here.I have your respect but I have to earn it with the others,” I replied. He nodded, his eyes connecting with mine.
“Can you at least break for lunch?” He pleaded.
“I’m going to eat at my desk. I’m almost finished. And this has to be done and on Lois’ desk by 2 pm. She leaves early today.” His eyes were sad but I knew he understood.
I finished the article. I waited nervously at my desk waiting for Lois to call me over.
“This is good,” she said when she finally did. “You have work to do,  I want to see how your research improves when you're out on the field. But for just starting, this is great.” She added. I nodded waiting for more. I knew she wasn’t finished.
“Next week you’ll be coming with me, I’m doing expose research in Gotham, I want you to come to observe and take notes,” she stated. I nodded again.
“I’ll be there, Thank…”
“Lois, Gotham’s dangerous you can’t take her with you.” Clark interrupted. Lois peered up at him over my shoulder.
“Clark,” She sighed. “All due respect. You’ve taught her all you can in the classroom. But I’m her teacher now. And the best way to learn research is out in the field hands-on.” She retorted.
“I’ll be with Lois, I’ll be okay,” I assured him. He wasn’t having it.
“She won’t learn anything if she gets hurt. The crime rate in Gotham has skyrocketed it isn’t worth the risk. Does Perry know about this?” He asked. Lois scoffed.
“As a matter of fact, he does. He’s already approved it.” she told him I don’t know what came over me. If I was angry that he was trying to stop me from going when this was my chance to earn my way in. Or if I was angry he thought I was weak.
“And, I can take care of myself! I don’t need you hovering like I’m so fragile! You may have taught me but I got myself this far, Mr. Kent. We’ll be just fine.” I snapped. Clark stared dumbfounded. His mouth hung open, he was at a loss for words. Actually, everyone was staring.
“Shows over,” Lois spoke loudly “You can all get back to work,”  she announced. I looked back at her apologetically.
“Lois, I..” Clark started. She quickly cut him off.
“Clark, I have to leave, I don’t have time for this. It’s settled she’s going,” She looked back at me, her eyes softer and sympathetic. “I’m out for the day, and you’ve finished your work, If you’d like to go now your welcome, I’ll see you Monday,”  she smiled. I nodded at her giving her a nervous smile. She turned then and walked out.
“Y/N, please think about this. I don’t want you to get…”  He started.
“I’m going to go, as well, Mr. Kent… I’ll see you next week.” I stood and walked to my desk grabbing my things. I walked past him to the elevator without another word.
Monday morning I was in the office early. Lois and I met at the office so she could debrief me before we left. She was interviewing with billionaire Bruce Wayne. He had connections all over Gotham, she wanted intel on any possible underground organized crime. I’ll admit it certainly was intense for my first time in the field. But it would be great practice.
The city of Gotham was not nearly as wicked as Clark made it out to be. Mr. Wayne was amicable. He didn’t want to be there but he respected us so much as we respected him. The next few days we went back. We checked out some of the sources that Bruce had given. We got closer and closer to what she was looking for. Someone was definitely covering up organized crime in Gotham.
Late Thursday night we were headed back to the car. It was almost 9:30 way past office hours at this point. But as Lois informed me. Good stories don’t live within the time clock. We were about to drive back and head home for the evening. We were only a few blocks away. I heard Lois scream from behind me. I turned back to look and felt myself being pulled backward. Someone had ahold of my arms dragging me off the sidewalk.
“Let me go!” I demanded. Struggling in the stranger's grip. “Lois!” I called.
“Shut up, what the hell are you bitches doing here?” a male voice asked. I heard Lois cry for help. I continued to struggle.
“I’m not telling you anything. Let go of me. Someone HELP.” I screamed. Unable to break loose from the man’s hold.
“Listen bitch! I told you to…Ungh”  The man grunted he fell back suddenly my arms slipping from his grip. I looked up my eyes going wide. Superman. He’d heard our screams.
I watched as he took care of Lois’ attacker breaking her free. He spoke softly to her. His face looked almost…stern. She looked at him her eyes deeply apologetic. I couldn't hear what was being said. He patted her shoulder giving her a soft smile after she assured him she was okay. That I did here.
“And you, are you okay?” He was on his feet now. He landed right in front of me. My eyes met his. They looked so familiar. I nodded.
“You… saved me. I.. I don’t know how to thank you.” I stuttered. He smiled
“It’s what I do. I’m just thankful I made it before you were hurt. Now please get home safe.” He added. I nodded still in shock. I felt Lois squeeze my shoulder and we walked back to the car. Superman hovered close watching to make sure we made it. Once we were inside he flew off.
“Do you… know him?” I asked Lois suddenly. She paused looking at me.
“We’ve met before. This job can be, dangerous at times. Can you handle that?” She asked. I thought for a moment. Could I? I couldn’t get myself out of this situation. But I didn’t back down either. Finally, I nodded.
“Yes, I can,” I answered.
“Good, now let's get home. We both could use some rest.”
In the office the next day I was typing notes for Lois. I was back and forth at her desk all day. At one point I paused looking over at Clark. He looked exhausted. And stressed. He looked slightly disheveled. He was aggressively tapping at the keys on his keyboard.
I approached him slowly.
“Hey, are you alright, you look tired I can get you some coffee if you’d like,” I offered. He shook his head not looking away from his computer.
“I’m fine Y/n, thank you.” he dismissed me.
“Oh.. okay, if you need anything let me know,” I added before walking away. Normally I skipped lunch but I had time that day. I walked over to ask Clark to come with me. Again he dismissed me. I felt bad for the way I had treated him last week. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay between us. I stayed late that night typing up notes for Lois. When I shut down my computer, I noticed Clark was the only one still in the office.
“Clark,” I spoke softly “It’s 5:30  do you need help?” I asked. He shut down his computer then.
“No, I’m just heading out now. Thank you for the offer.” He mumbled. I nodded. I turned and walked to the elevator. I rode down by myself to the first floor letting Clark cool off. If he didn’t want to talk I would give him his space. I walked out through the lobby pausing just inside the doors. Shit. It was raining again. I decided to walk this morning. It wasn’t supposed to rain. I heard the elevator ding and I groaned to myself seeing Clark exit. I gnawed at my lip anxiously, Praying the rain would suddenly let up.
“Hey,” I hear Clark's voice behind me. “Need a ride?” he asked nodding toward the door.
“Uh… yeah, I walked this morning. Didn’t bring my umbrella. It wasn’t supposed to rain today.”  I answered awkwardly.  Clark opened the door opening his umbrella and just like the first time he took me home, we walked close sharing the protection from the rain.
The ride home was quiet it was only a few blocks away. But when Clark pulled into the parking lot I could no longer take the silence.
“Clark. What’s wrong?” I asked. He shook his head. “Don’t, don’t brush me off, what’s bothering you?” He got out of the car, slammed his door shut, and headed inside. I got out quickly running after him the rain immediately soaking me.  “Hey, I was talking to you!” I shouted.
“Y/n STOP!” He turned around quickly the volume of his voice causing me to shrink back a little. “You wanna know what's bothering me? You. You, putting yourself in harm's way. You, trying so hard to prove yourself that you're being reckless. You almost got hurt because you had to make a point. You, because I can’t stop fucking thinking about you! And I’ve lost sleep all week worrying about your safety.” He stepped closer we were standing in the middle of the parking lot. “Because I couldn't bear the thought of someone even touching you.” my heart was racing his face was inches from mine. I could feel his breath on my face. “I don’t wanna see any bruises on this pretty face.” My breath hitched.
“Clark,” I whispered. He grabbed my face crashing his lips to mine. I melted against him. The rain still fell hard around us.
“Your so damn stubborn,” He mumbled between kisses. I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him closer.
“I’m sorry,” I said, breathless as I chased his lips for another kiss. He let out a breathy laugh.
“Don’t be. You’re doing amazing. I knew you would be. Just be more careful.” I nodded. He took my hand pulling me inside. He pressed the elevator button frantically. I giggled.
“Clark that’s not gonna make it get here any faster.” He chuckled.
“Damn elevators.” Once inside he pushed the button for his floor and backed me up against the wall. His lips were back on mine, kissing me roughly. “Wanted this for so long.” He groaned. Kissing down my neck. The elevator doors opened. He took my hand again leading me to his apartment.
He quickly unlocked the door and I followed him inside. I bit my lip waiting for him to make a move. I felt so shy all of a sudden. I wanted this but I was nervous. Clark lifted my chin so my eyes met his.
“Stop me. If this isn’t what you want stop me, sweetheart. I don’t want to hurt you.” I shook my head.
“I want you Clark,” I whispered. His lips were on mine again. Sweeter this time. More slow. He felt his hand move down my neck and over my chest softly squeezing my breast. I moaned leaning into the touch. “Clark please,” I whined. He stepped back peeling off his wet shirt. I did the same. We left a trail of wet clothes all the way to the bedroom. Clark laid me down on the bed crawling between my thighs. Kissing them softly.
“So beautiful.” He groaned before swiping his tongue between my folds. I gasped. He circled my clit with his tongue and then back down dipping it inside me. His groan was feral.
“Fuck.” I moaned. He worked his tongue in and out of me while I worked my hips against his face. I tangled my fingers in his curls holding him close. His nose rubbed against my clit has he fucked me with his tongue. “m’  gonna.”  I moaned as I came on his tongue. He lapped it all up before pulling away.
“So good sweetheart.” He kissed up my body, kissing my lips and letting me taste myself. Finally he settled between legs pushing inside of me slowly. He let out a low moan.
“ So big,” I whimpered. He brushed my hair out of my face kissing me softly.
“Doing so good for me sweetheart. Almost all the way in. You can take it all baby.” He moaned. With one last push he was fully seated inside me. “You feel amazing baby. Taking me so well.” He cooed letting me adjust.
“Clark please.” I whined. Begging him to move. He pulled out slowly, until just the tip was inside me and then plunged back in. I let out a loud moan.
“Feel good sweetheart?” He asked. I nodded.
“So good, Clark, Fuck, I moaned as he started to thrust into me at a steady pace. He grabbed my hand pinning it to the mattress. He picked up his pace. I felt the knot build in my stomach.
“You’re getting close aren’t you baby?” he asked. I nodded. Letting out a strangled moan.
“Please.” I begged.
“So polite.” he groaned. He pressed his thumb to my clit as he fucked me rubbing in circles. I felt my toes curl and I came hard squeezing him as he fucked me through my orgasm. “Thats it sweetheart. Fuck. Gonna make me. Ungh.” He groaned cumming inside me. We were both breathless laying there for a moment. Clark pulled out slowly. And pulled me into him.
“You okay?” He smiled kissing my cheek. I nodded.
“Mhmm” I mumbled dreamily. Clark got up and came back with a cloth to clean us both up. Then got back into bed holding me close.
“Clark?” I asked softly.
“Hmm?” he hummed.
“Were you ever gonna tell me… or were you just gonna let me figure it out?” He raised an eyebrow.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“Because no one else knows what happened in Gotham Superman,”  I smirked turning in his arms.
“How did you…?” He asked.
“I’ve had a crush on you for a while. I’d know your eyes anywhere.” I said blushing.
“Hmm,” he chuckled. “You have a crush on me?” He asked.
“Shut up,” I rolled my eyes.
