@tealbeats : I know you're not super active on Ez (and I still owe you a lot of stuff actually) but I wanna say I love the amount of his personality you're able to paint into every interaction. You have such a way of making him the perfect amount of insufferable (in the best way) while still twisting it in SUCH an endearing light. I love that annoying little bug and I'm so glad you do too, because it really shows.

@agonizedembrace : Han it's been really nice to reach out and get into contact again. You're genuinely a really funny, interesting, and thoughtful person who cares about Evelynn in such a way that brings out every aspect of her character. The agony, the sex appeal, the sass, the confidence, you just nail all of it and I'm really hoping we can get stuff going soon!

@bendwill : Elder scrolls blogs are few and far between, but Miraak is absolutely one of those characters that deserves to be more written out. We haven't gotten to do a ton but please don't hesitate to hit me up and scream ideas at me, the idea of Tamrielic Zagreus is very fascinating to me. (And also I need somebody to ramble about my Oblivion D&D Campaign ideas with skdfjh)

now...you may be wondering: Why Do His Kids Get Refs For When They're Older, But Not Him? well...that's because, physically, he doesn't change much besides getting some more gray hairs and worse eye bags in the over a decade between his original murders and his death. and i've already done a ref for what O'Hare/Springtrap looks like in my design

yes, the Unhinged look in his eyes is intentional.

Alex:

gave his younger self a pose that was meant to give off "rebellious teenager" vibes, and his older self a pose that gives off "bitter and anxious" vibes.

gave him long hair. because Yes.

Michael:

looks like his father, but with a few minor changes: skin is mildly more tanned than his father, hair is a lighter shade of brown, etc.

William based the 1987 uniforms for the guards/employees off of his own usual outfit (Purple. which Backfired).

Mike tried to change his hair a bit to distinguish himself from his father, mostly by dying it a bright red and trying to cut the Bunny Ear-Shaped parts on the top of his hair to be more jagged and less Bunny-Like.

scars on his arm are from where Springtrap grabbed onto him.

ghosts are typically either desaturated or transparent, with the only bright colors on them are usually their eyes or the bloody wounds from their death.

so while it's not shown here, "fun" fact! Liz died from where Harriet (Circus Baby) hugged her hard enough to break not just her spine, but her neck as well. (the hug was so strong due to Harriet malfunctioning that day)

all ghosts who have their souls tied to an animatronic have a mask of that animatronic that they can wear if they wish. Liz's mask is of Harriet.

Cassidy:

my baby boy. my beloved <3

those pants are pajama pants. he wore them everywhere.

while not visible, Cassidy also wears mismatched socks like Liz.

the Fredbear plush was a gift from Henry, given to Cassidy by Charlie.

was blind in one eye after The Bite.

The Bite wasn't as horrible as people think it was. what basically happened was that the teeth bit slightly into his head, which caused the bleeding, as well as some cracking in the skull and brain damage in his frontal lobe. due to the mechanisms in Fredbear being Very hot as well, it caused some burns. nothing that couldn't heal, but...it Was still pretty serious.

while The Bite itself didn't kill Cassidy, he still, as a ghost, appears to have a bleeding section of his head.

the strangulation marks on his neck are more visible as a ghost.

Cassidy, as a spirit, can occasionally leak a mysterious black fluid from his eyes and mouth, which is reflected on his Mask.

Cassidy is transparent as a ghost.

simpler one again today, I'm just doing whatever I feel like for these :)

the pleasure wheel is very important to me. I never got it in my first playthrough (1 INT run, the bubble never came up) and I unfortunately can't do the missing husband quest anymore, so I haven't seen it in game... but I've read the dialogue and seen pictures, and it's incredible.

also! mentioned yesterday, but I'm doing my day off on mondays. so nothing tomorrow.

I've done everyone except the motorics guys, and I think he was the hardest so far. figuring out how to use the negative space to capture all his details was hard

after 30 hours of work, i finally drew every single version of matoro, redesigned in my style! he's my favourite character of all time so i decided to put a ton of love into this drawing. theres lots of little cool details which ill go into more depth on under the cut!

every version of him has a sad expression, though i tried to make it the most prominent in the last three. i think hes just tend to have a sad look in his eyes even when hes not actually that sad.

his 2nd matoran form has the gear part stylized to look like a tail, and i added a shorter version to the 1st matoran form to imply that it just 'grew' over time

his toa inika design has the same tail as the first two matoran forms, but its been broken, the gear no longer on it. it shares the same transparency as the other parts of his design, and is shaped like a lightning strike to call back to how he became a toa in the first place

the toa mahri design doesnt quite have a tail, instead having the tube broken, having the silhouette of a tail without actually being one.

the 2nd matoran design has a scarf, i like to imagine that he wore it almost constantly, but it was taken when he went to karzahni, and he never recovered it. kopaka later did, and ended up wearing it in memory of matoro

every design has the same hair-like mask (originally how i stylize the akaku), and has a asymetric design where one side is a bit longer. the mahri mask looks more like the akaku, however the iden looks less like it, with the ""hair"" being much longer and pulled back. this was to try and show how he didnt really feel like himself as a toa inika, and how that mask was very much so not him (as it was its own separate entity after all) but once he became a toa mahri he felt a bit more like himself again.

i tried to make it look like he was wearing winter gloves in most of the designs, though its most obvious in the 2nd matoran and mahri designs

i stylized the iden a bit so that it looked like he had horns, my thought process there was just kinda "karzahni = hell so i guess it makes sense"

each one has lines under their eyes, with the 2 matorans having ones similar to the markings on the akaku, toa inika having ones similar to the iden that also are meant to subtly look like tear streaks, and the mahri having ones that very subtly are meant to look like the lines on the ignika mask

more red accents on the mahri design, to call back to the red flag, and also to teridax/maxilos

while i didnt draw in most of their weapons, mahri kept the twin cutter and i just made it an attachment to his hand

the red axle piece in the mahri foot piece is actually a piece i thought was included in the set itself. i bought my mahri matoro second hand, and apparently along with him being in bad shape he also just had those parts added there for some reason? so i drew it in thinking that it was correct. just learnt today that that was false. but i like it so im keeping it

So the past.... Month. Has been very eventful. Coping with a rough break up, work being hard. I'm almost 21 I kinda figured it'd be rough being in my 20s. I really was expecting it to be the end of the world, but then I made a really good choice.

I joined a few discord servers over this month, and I can't begin to explain just how wonderful that's been for my mental health.

I've made so many new beautiful friends who just mean the world to me, and those new friends along with old friends and my beautiful angel wife who's stuck with me while we both heal, it's just nice.

I wanna say a few words [or a lot words. I'm a yapper] and I jus wanna really detail my appreciation for the following people.

@your-pal-smoochins, my perfect angel wife. You and I have had a lot of things against us. You've been such an amazing support system through these past couple years and I don't tell you enough just how much I love and appreciate everything you do for me. You lift me up when I really need it and I've never felt more loved than when you've been by my side. Thanks for being my rock, my sun moon and stars, and just thank you for being mine. You do so much more than you give yourself credit for, having escaped the situation you were in and going to college. You're so strong, and you're my beautiful angel forever.

on red and blue symbolism in heathers: an essay

i read one of those buzzfeed listicles the other day that was like “crazy fun facts and secrets about your favorite 80s movies!” and one of the first fun facts was “did you know that in heathers, every character is associated with a color?” that’s not a fun fact. it’s not even a secret. heathers is a lot of things but one thing it’s not is subtle. heathers practically beats the viewer over the head with color symbolism but in this essay, i would particularly like to draw attention to the colors red and blue and their significance in heathers’ narrative.

a short preface: when possible, i cite stills sourced from the movie itself. some images, however, are served better by the gif format, so whenever i post a gif i will also cite the tumblr user who made it. if your gifs are used in this post and you would like me to remove them, please let me know.

okay, with that out of the way, let's start at the beginning (naturally). below is the title card. right away, the cinematographers inundate the viewer with red, informing the viewer that red (and whoever wears it) will be significant to the narrative.

red represents the social order and the natural hierarchy of predators and prey at westerburg. red is omnipresent throughout the production design of the school's campus.

by assuming the color of the school itself, heather chandler assumes control of the school. and when she drags veronica along to the remington party to help boost their reputation, the whole dorm is bathed in red light.

when we first meet veronica, she's wearing gray and black, with only occasional pops of blue (the brooch in the outfit above, her croquet mallet, etc) but as veronica's discomfort and unease begins to grow, something interesting begins to happen!

blue light slowly begins to creep into the frame, and once veronica has finally had enough of brad's bullshit, it becomes even more prominent. just as red represents control of the social hierarchy, blue symbolizes discontent and rejection of the social order.

meanwhile, heather chandler isn't having a great time at the party either. this scene is the only time in the film we see heather chandler completely alone, in a moment of vulnerability and self loathing, and she's surrounded by the color blue.

and then all hell breaks loose. i honestly dont think one image or gif alone can do this scene justice so im linking to tibby's (beautifully colored) gifset of the scene.

note how as veronica declares war ("lick it up, baby!"), red and blue lights flicker across her face. and as heather promises to ruin veronica in turn, the red light casts heather's face in shadow and overpowers the blue.

of course, heather never gets the chance to make good on this promise because veronica and jd kill her. and that may have been a mistake, but the color of their poison is quite deliberate.

and right before she dies, she takes off her red scrunchie - conceding her control.

of course, heather's death doesn't mean her exit from the narrative. red lingers throughout the rest of the film. but guess what color veronica wears to the funeral?

tumblr is a little bitch and i dont have the time or energy to expound upon the rest of my argument at the moment. it's probably been examined and analyzed in greater detail by people smarter and far more eloquent than me. but i'll conclude with veronica's reclamation of the red scrunchie at the end of the film. you could choose to interpret this as veronica conceding to the hierarchy even after all she's been through, but i choose to interpret it as a bitter compromise.

You are most welcome Lexi, always an honour to get to work with my first redacted friend, especially when it comes to this bean, Ariel! I still remember a few of the details from our previous conversations in regards to how you see them so I hope this does them justice!

Design Notes

Approaching Ariel's design, I had already had remembered conversations with you in regards to previous inspirations you'd mentioned for your take on Love. I also added in a bit of my own inspos to the mix to see what would take

For Ariel's design I wanted to keep in mind the solid collection of notes you'd written up so I could incorporate as much as I could whilst also condensing the design so I could make it simple to redraw (as I do with some of my other designs). My main focus when getting into this design however was to create a human and android Skin similar to how I'd made my Asset, Prim.

A big inspiration I had for them was Jenni from My Life As a Teenage Robot and Hatsune Miku so I decided that white metallic plates reminiscent of Jenni would work and blue hair similar to Miku would tie things together. Additional, I also chose to include colours from the PM title cards to establish that visual parallel .

As for clothing, I followed your instructions as best as I could, creating an androgynous fit that was pastel and had hints of academic elements! On top of that, I incorporated musical notes as a reference to the singing Ariel from the Tempest and the little mermaid does and to reference her proclivities for piano music. To reference back to your choice of Psyche as a god to represent Asset, I included butterfly designs on their overalls. To balance the whole pallette I combos the PM pallette and the pallette of their clothes which ended up being pretty readable overall! Another fun fact is that I also ended realizing that Ariel shares a clothing pallette with my Caelum!

Miranda Priestly x Wilhemina Venable x Reader- Dragon meets Purple, Pt 4

Over the next couple of days Miranda couldn't help but notice that something had changed. Wilhemina and you had been quite flirty with each other. Miranda knew you to be flirty and somehow she didn't mind it as you would quite openly hit on her as well but she never knew Wilhemina to return your comments. Of course she had seen Wilhemina's gaze lingering on your chest or ass. And Miranda couldn't help but stare herself. You knew how to dress yourself, exposing parts of your body slightly but still looking fashionable and professional.

Her usual coffee date with Wilhemina was scheduled to be in her office today but she didn't want anyone overhearing the conversation she wanted to have with the redhead today.

She enters a few minutes before her usual time. ,,Ms Priestly, to what do I owe this pleasure?'' Wilhemina smirks before Miranda hands her a coffee cup. They talk business for a while, going over their schedules, some budgeting and other things that needed sorting.

The redhead could tell something was on the other woman's mind. ,,Miranda what is it?'' she asks eventually before Mirandas inner dragon makes an appearance for a swift moment.

,,Are you sleeping with her?'' she asks, her gaze averting Wilhemina's.

,,Sleeping with whom?'' Wilhemina asks, of course knowing deep down what she was implying.

,,My assistant'' Miranda replies, pursing her lips.

,,Emily? ugh no, never had a thing for the brits'' Wilhemina jokes, a smirk playing on her face. Miranda can't help but chuckle bitterly in response.

,,Y/N, are you sleeping with her?'' she finally asks, her voice sounding serious.

Wilhemina hesitates, she doesn't want to hurt Miranda but at the same time she has nothing to hide as Miranda made it quite clear in the past that this was an open thing between them. However, Miranda hadn't seen anyone since her situation-ship with Wilhemina.

,,Yes'' Wilhemina simply replies, unsure what else to say.

Miranda simply nods in response to the redheads words, appreciating Wilhemina's honesty and at the same time knowing she is the one who suggested them being open in the first place.

,,So what happens now?'' Wilhemina asks, uncertainty filling her features.

,,Nothing changes, unless you want it to'' Miranda gives Wilhemina the choice.

,,Dinner tonight?'' Wilhemina smirks contently before Miranda agrees and gets ready to exit her office.

It was a Thursday evening and neither Miranda or Wilhemina enjoyed being in the public much but they decided on getting dinner at Miranda's favourite restaurant tonight. They catch up on how things have been going, gossiping a little about Emily and Miranda talking about the hideous designer show she attended earlier in the day. Eventually the subject changes to you.

,,By the way Y/N is staying with me until she can find an apartment''. Wilhemina explains, leaving the detail out how she found you in your pjs one evening, knowing Miranda is your boss after all and not wanting to get you into trouble.

,,Fine by me, never known you to be a good samaratin like that though'' Miranda simply replies before carrying on with some other subject.

A couple of hours later, you wake up in the middle of the night, needing to use the bathroom. After, you quickly get some water from the kitchen before heading back to your room.

Blinking away the sleepiness and focusing on your feet to guide you back into the comfort of Wilhemina's guest room, you suddenly see a very familiar set of heels. Your eyes snap open as the puzzle pieces finally connect.

,,Miranda?!'' you gasp as you see her come out of Wilhemina's bedroom.

The echoing of a cane is to be heard seconds later as Wilhemina appears behind her in a purple bathrobe.

,,You are sleeping with my boss?'' you exclaim slightly shocked even though you knew deep down as they weren't all that subtle.

,,You are sleeping with HR?'' Miranda replies, a smirk playing on her lips.

The room fills with silence and for the first time since Wilhemina and Miranda had known you, you didn't have any words and simply gawped.

After a few seconds you look up seeing the smiles playing on Miranda and Wilheminas faces before you ask ,,What's funny about this?''

Miranda simply smirks before replying ,,That's all'' moving her hand to shoo you back to your room.

,,We will have a conversation about this tomorrow'' she states before looking at Wilhemina and returning back to bed.

The tension between Miranda and Wilhemina was palpable as they sit across from each other in Miranda's elegant living room the next day. The conversation had taken a sharp turn, becoming more heated and charged with unspoken emotions.

,,I don't understand why you are upset about this'' Wilhemina snaps, her voice tinged with frustration. ,,You're the one who suggested we keep things open'' she carries on.

Miranda's lips tighten, her gaze icy. ,,I didn't think you would act on it so quickly, with my assistant of all people''.

Wilhemina scoffs, leaning back in her chair ,,Don't act so high and mighty Miranda, you can't deny you find her attractive''.

Miranda's cheeks flush slightly, betraying her inner turmoil. ,,That's beside the point'' she coldly states, averting her gaze.

,,Is it?'' Wilhemina counters. ,,Or are you just upset because you're not the one getting to enjoy her company?''

Miranda's jaw clenches, her gaze meeting Wilhemina's again. ,,This is absurd, we can't share''.

In response the redheads lips curl into a smirk ,,Who said anything about sharing, I merely suggested we could both enjoy her''.

The suggestion hangs in the air, the tension slowly fading and the possibility lingering. Miranda's mind races, torn between indignation and a deep desire she couldn't deny.

Miranda has been in a few relationships, even marriages. Eventually her career would always interfere. On top of it her personality, she knew deep down she was old fashioned but she always tried hard. The possibility of dating anyone from her workplace, never really occurred to her. Since the hook ups with Wilhemina, the thought crossed her mind a few times if this could actually work, considering Wilhemina worked the same hours and they knew the importance to keep this private. Miranda hadn't been ready yet to fully commit to Wilhemina but she couldn't deny she enjoyed her company, the sass and the fact she would enjoy sitting or laying beside her in peace. But somehow since you had arrived there was this feeling she couldn't shake.

,,And what makes you think, she would agree to such a proposition?'' Miranda breaks the silence.

Wilhemina shrugs casually, her gaze not averting from Miranda for a single moment. ,,Y/N is young, adventurous. And let's face it, she's attracted to both of us''.

Miranda's pulse quickens at the thought, her initial stubbornness about the subject weakening with each passing moment. She had always prided herself on her independence, her unwillingness to share anything she considered hers. But there it was again, something about you that tired a longing within her, a desire she couldn't ignore.

,,Fine'' Miranda finally agrees, her voice barely above a whisper. ,,But she's mine tonight''.

Wilhemina's smirk widens into a satisfied grin. ,,Agreed, dear''.

Twine wasn’t exactly, born?? They kind of just. Spawned into existence one day. That’s literally their origin. Well, summarized!

Their origin’z a liiiittle more complicated than that, but herez a mix of summary & detailed explanation:

Twine wasn’t conceived by parentz, they were simply formed by the universe itself! Or I guess. The multiverse. Cuz!! Twine was put together kind of liiiikeee,, a collage! The multiverse took bitz & piecez of the dominant speciez of many other worldz, and mushed them all together to create this abomination!! /aff ily Twine

As awesome as thiz. . thing. . . may be, there iz a sort of! Flaw!! Twine has no {proper} organz & no bonez! Not even fingernailz!

Thiz iz why Twine has no listed sex—they practically have doll anatomy

Since the universe could only observe so much from up above, it could only see the visible traitz of different speciez; last I checked, you can’t really see organz & bonez at a first glance!!! The universe didn’t really get all those detailz,,

Since they don’t have organz or bonez restricting their physical form, she can squash and stretch their body to his will! As seen in the ref sheet

Theoretically, Twine can stretch indefinitely, as long as they generate enough energy to manage that

This is also why their height is listed as “6’3” at default” and not just “6’3””, because they can change their height

Fun fact time:

The common species of the planet Twine was put on doez have unnatural colorz for skintonez & different patternz, but Twine’z specific pattern {black & white split} iz an impossible phenotype for the common species to have, so they’re VERY obviously not supposed to be there!!

But it’z okay—their friendz still love em :))

Twinez also physically incapable of being injured; since they have no blood, nervez, and essentially an infinite energy source, they just heal super fast with no consequence of injury

As seen in the image above—if Twine were to get hurt, a yellow light that I use to represent energy seepz out til the wound eventually closez itself

Small notez: Twine’z big pupilz are on purpose, they’re meant to represent black holez. & their design is supposed to include symmetry in order to convey the duality theme!

I'm too lazy to color it I'm sowwy

I will now go into detail for my design choices (doesn't know anything about character design)

For Sunny I wanted to go for a COOL KID vibe, I really like her hair, i wanted a short, messy hairstyle but her clothes are kinda similar to my Leo design so maybe I'll be changing that.

For Empanada, i went for some traditional german clothes, though, they might not be very accurate bc i looked it up on google and didn't do any actual research so maybe I'll look more into that. As for the hair, I actually don't know, I also wanted short hair for her, thought a bob would be cute.

Lastly, Pepito, i actually don't know LOL. Even though I watched Roier's stream today and saw him a lot compared to the other two, I just couldn't quite capture his personality in his design. I just know I wanted him to be on the chubbier side, i don't think you can really tell bc of his clothes and also bc i redrew his body 87 times without any gidelines, only eyeballing shit. I will be changing his design maybe, as I get to know him.

Sitting in the garage, with Raph off to the left lifting some weight while talking about the latest villian he'd smashed, listening to him talk so passionately was always so.... inspiring? definitely a nice sound to listen to while drawing that's for sure!

"And than Leo went in all... all swords blazing! he was porting left and right, it was awesome! and then, Donnie-"

and than a crash sounded thoughout the lair before- "(y/n) I am....SO sorry!" Mikey called out, sighing before getting up, you leave your sketchbook where you were sitting before going to check what Mikey was sorry for, leaving Raph alone, with his curiosity of what you were drawing becoming waaaay to big and him snooping

Raph looked at only a few pages! before he got to the drawings of him and he's impressed! he knows it's hard to draw his figure properly but you did it well, there was one drawing that left him fluster though.... of him and you, snuggling under the moonlight with little doodle hearts drawn around it! i mean he's happy as hell because that means you like him back but he's also as red as his mask at that thought!, but all his guilt comes round when you come back and see him. with your book. and him trying to hide behind it while blushing....

"But my arm is getting tired!~" His whining becoming louder per minute, any chance to take a break from this would be taken as a blessing-

and just as that thought was finished, your phone rang, an exit from having to draw this- this....cute dumbass! just as you walk out to take the call though, Leo springs up to go snooping...

"OHOHOHO!..... Woah this is good....really caught my flamboyant charm!~" and just as flips to the previous page in the book, his face goes red. A drawing of him and you. Together. KISSING. this is to much, but also so very perfect!

As soon as you come back in the room, he recreates the drawing- dipping you into an embrace before quickly kissing you....then going back to his pose for the drawing.....FUCKING HELL LEO-

He scoffs "But think of all the ideas I could think of off of your own drawings!" And as he turn the next page, he goes stiff as a plank and falls to the floor.

He saw it. The stupid cartoonish doodle of him surrounded by hearts and small 'ily's, simply glancing over at him would reveal he's completely shut down and red faced, only does he get up around 5 minutes later to slowly sit down next to you and wraps his pinky around yours.

"if....if you'd like, we could try....this" he says while gesturing at both of you with his hand fastly. You smile.

You wake up at around 1am to your phone ringing, without thinking you answer groggily "h...hello?" you say before quietly yawning, "heyyyy bestie!....soooo...I think, you gave me the wrong book earlier..."

And now. Now you're awake and alert, "which one did i give you? the...the one with the stickers on it or the one with hearts?" Silence was heard over the line before some shuffling is heard.... "The one with the hearts!, You draw me so well!" He gushes....he...he liked the drawings! The drawings of you and him....living domestically together....oh oh wowee....

"you... actually liked them?" You asked nervously, "of course i did! tomorrow you should come over and we can bake like in one of the pages! wanna call it a date?" He says playfully but the date part...that part was serious, a clean cut and honest question.

"absolutely!" it's a date, a sweet delicious date.

the colors reminded me it's port mafia time

about all of the port mafia has black in their palletes, it is very clear to see BUT there are three exceptions

kouyou has black in her character design BUT also pinks and reds. she probably doesn't count but still! you notice the pinks/reds before you notice the black. I think this is to connect her to kyouka but I could be absolutely wrong. small little extra detail: she has spider lillies at the bottom of her kimono(?) which repersent danger and death and abandonment! (they can also represent rebirth but death is the most common meaning for them)

kaji also barely has any black in his pallet. but he's kaji. absolute unhinged creature

and finally tachihara! he has black pants but also green jacket and white shirt. obviously in the beginning he wasn't actually a port mafia member but a hunting dog (that changes but also we don't see him after he gets turned so does he get new mafia swag? the world may never know.) the green of his jacket could repersent his connection to the hunting dogs (green jacket -> green uniforms) but that might be a HUGE stretch so eerrhhree take it with salt.

mori also applies to this halfway since he has two outfits (port mafia boss + his physician outfit) BUT with his physician outfit he wears a purple button down with his white (lab? doctor?) coat over it. purple is associated with corruption and royalty and I think that applies to his position as the mafia boss BUT! BUT the lab coat covers it so ITS LIKE HIM CONCEALING IT!!!! HIDING!!!! GRR DHER I hate mori but I love putting him under a microscope sometimes dude.

anyway!!!!!!! colors!!!!!!!! fun.

ohhhh I LOVE THIS!! lots of little details i didn’t think too far into.

thinking into kouyou, the black in her design is under the pink/red mostly. as if she’s keeping the more extravagant (maybe the wrong word) or passionate part of her external while the darkness she tries to not let out. she’s talked before about how you can’t go back if you thrive in the darkness, so i assume her design reflects that a lot. she expresses beauty despite being in the darkness. pink is also associated with love and care, and she seemed to take on a role in protecting kyouka and likely loved her or deeply cared about her. (i am so here for kyouka and kouyou found family older sibling or mother-like role).

kajii has a couple black stripes on his outfit. not much, but enough to symbolize that he’s with the mafia. what’s interesting though is that they cover his eyes as well. you’d think they’d put more emphasis on his eyes to show that he is corrupted as well but they stay shielded a lot. harukawa said at one point that his eyes are pitch black even if you cannot see them. this is probably a combination of him being a scientist and keeping his face shielded and maybe adding some uncertainty for his character. i also assume the white clothes is to go with the scientist-y look. we don’t know much about him yet but i hope we do soon.

and for tachihara hmmm. i wonder if asagiri had him planned out from the start? or if he decided to add that in to give tachi some depth since he didn’t have much beforehand? either way i love that he has such a cool design, it’s one of my favourite mafia looks actually! i like your idea of the jacket connection a lot, that makes sense! i noted that tachihara also wears black wristbands, tying into the colour theme of the mafia as well. i’m going into heavy speculation here, but maybe the white on his shirt could somehow represent his purity (combined with the green jacket to show his status as an officer)? and the black of his pants could represent the effect the mafia has had on him? as in he is both good and evil. or maybe they just thought the colour contrasts looks cool and i’m looking to deep into things idc tho ily tachihara

i don’t have anything to add to mori’s designs i just really like what you said with that. really cool ideas !!

ok I know you don't do free requests so do ignore this if you don't feel like it, but,,, Turbo overkill characters as TFs?

I had soooo much fun with these. I even have notes because of course I do.

Maw's alt. mode is a spider, as per his second phase in his last boss fight. It fits his personality, given he's weaving a web right from the start and herding everyone to get caught in it, and for most of his encounters, his movements are fast, jittery and sudden.

The spider's 'face' also let me emulate that weird mechanical thingy he has on his chest. Some of the spider legs make up his prosthetic arm, and I used the rest to balance out the colors a bit and replace some of the details around his midsection that wouldn't have fit.

For Johnny, I gave him two alts, meaning both his car and the bike he randomly finds during one level. He's fast, and since he uses his leg chainsaw(s) to slide around and quicken his movement, and since the bike specifically is a pretty small vehicle with a limited amount of large parts, I used the wheels for his legs. I also kept the asymmetrical coloring of his hands/arms, so the bike's front portion- mostly the turret and chainsaws- make up his left arm. The bike's turret and laser beam replace his mini rocket launcher upgrade.

Both vehicles also support his grayscale + red color theme so I kept that, and went for a more square, occasionally rounded shape with his silhouette.

Jazz was a pain in the ass, but I ended up going with a weirdly modded sports car, since that fits him overall. He's fast- he has the Turbo Time augment before Johnny takes it for himself- which my friend had the idea of translating into an engine on Jazz's back. I also tried to make his colors more coherent- while the rest of the cast has the classic gray + 2 main colors + minor details look, Jazz is an absolute clusterfuck with yellow, turquoise, pink and a reddish light brown as main colors, and pink, orange, red and purple for details. Not counting like 3 shades of gray. Ouch. I included all of them, but tried to balance out how they're used.

The design does make sense though, as he's more naive, inexperienced, brash and excited than the rest of his team, and quite a bit younger likely, given his voice and over-excited nature.

Finally, Ripper. She's very fast and precise, using the Telefragger sniper rifle as her main weapon, and thrusters to get away from Johnny during their fight, lending her some amount of air capability together with her grappling hook.

I figured a jet would fit all that, plus the resulting shapes would let me keep the curvy lower half / sharper upper half contrast her model somewhat uses. She lost her left arm after Johnny defeated her in ep2, and replaced it with a gun/cannon at some point, and I also retained that.
