Rules huh?
Sirius Black x James's sister reader
warnings: Honestly other than the reader being referred to as she/her, one year age gap, and being called beautiful I think nothing, lmk if I missed anything.
pt2, pt3
synopsis: There was one rule..and he had broken it.
Sitting in the Gryffindor common room were the four marauders.
or well three of them were sitting, the last one was pacing back and forth on the carpet such that a few more minutes would have started to dig a hole in it.
"mate...trust us, why'd we wanna get with Your sister anyway?
That was Moony, always the ever-so-sensible one
"yea, when I could have anyone at Hogwarts I assure you I wouldn't lay an eye on your sister. I'm serious"
yes...he was Sirius alright.
Here's what happened.
When James received an owl regarding his sister's transfer to Hogwarts in her fourth year, needless to say, he wasn't stoked.
It not only meant she'd be able to owl their parents on what shenanigans he did throughout the school year but it also meant keeping Boys away from her.
The first to receive this lecture were the marauders...at the least, James had to make sure his best friends weren't involved with his sister in any way.
So he had one rule...just one
Do Not Fall For My Sister.
"yea mate, not like we'd like her when she shares a face with you."
Quipped worm tail as the others agreed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh how wrong they were...
not only did you look Nothing like your brother, but you were also one of the most beautiful girls the boys had ever seen.
Sirius's interest was immediately piqued.
He'd catch a glance of you each time you'd walk the halls, or he'd drag the rest to follow you into the library, they, of course, didn't say anything because they knew how much of a book nerd Sirius could be.
It started to get a little suspicious...then he'd ask Moony to ask the gang, and they'd continue their library trips.
Honestly speaking you'd try to maintain your distance from your brother's group, the last thing you want is a bunch of fifth years on your tail.
Though part of that came from the lecture you received on your end as well...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sirius Orion Black
He was interesting, to say the least, he had a generally flirty personality and would often be seen winking at girls in the halls.
Oddly enough, despite your brother's warning, you were on the receiving end of quite a few.
James did NOT approve
He's noticed the little smiles and glances exchanged between the two of you rather quickly, considering how little observant he is, 7 months is quick for him.
But oh well, Sirius had broken the one rule his best friend had set up...and maybe you had too.
A/N: lmk if yall want a part two, I've been in such a marauders era brain rot please give me fic recommendations if you have any. I also haven't checked it too well so lmk if you find any mistakes I'll write a part two if enough people want one.
p.s pt.2 at a 100 notes I promise

I'm gonna post chapter one here as well, but then future chapters will most likely be posted on AO3, Wattpad and Quotev, the links will be posted soon.

Everyone was familiar with the screams and pleads of terror and despair that echoed throughout the city, hundreds of demons, in a state of panic, could be seen running in the streets in desperation, terrified at the sight of the angels, who had determined smiles on their faces as they chased them down with the intent to end their lives, prompting them to run even faster, trying to escape their impending doom that was closing in on them.
Amidst all the chaos, in one of the buildings from the distance, unaffected by the madness, a low yet soft voice rang out, reading out loud from a book, seemingly oblivious to the horror happening outside.
"- Lucifer found her and the rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love-"
It was a story they'd read countless times before, but oh it never failed to bring them joy and comfort.
"She empowered the demon kind with her voice and her songs-"
Despite the screams of terror outside were practically impossible to ignore, this particular story offered a temporary escape from their worries, even for just a little while.
"And their dream was passed down to their precious son, the prince of hell."
The end.
....
The man let out a deep sigh as he gently shut the book and gazed out the window at the chaos. " Don't worry Mom, I'll make this work, I promise."
๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ it takes.
"Charles, I enjoy your theatrics and all, I really do, but this is literally the fifth time you've repeated the same story to yourself."
A voice rang out behind him suddenly, making him turn his head in fright.
"Shit Dicckie! I didn't see you there." He let out a nervous chuckle. "Did you hear all that?"
Dicckie nodded. "Yeah, I literally just said that."
"Sorry, you know I always get worked up during an extermination." He smiled down at the book in his hands. " This book always helps, even for just a moment."
It was better than nothing...
"Don't worry, I love hearing your voice anyways, but you know you can always talk to me-"
Before he could finish his sentence, a deafening explosion echoed through the air, making them jolt in surprise and fright as they turned to the source of the noise.
Looking out the window, the men watched as an entire airship crashed into the buildings below, the group of exterminators who had taken it down cheered and high-fived one another before parting ways.
.......
Charles sighed. "They're extra ruthless this year, huh.."
It just gets worse and ๐ธ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐ณ๐ด๐ฆ each year.
.......
Dicckie struggled to find something to say to comfort the prince, before remembering what he was here for in the first place. " Hey, how about we go see what Alastor prepared for our commercial? That will take your mind off.. this."
Charles smiled, setting the book aside before standing up and grabbing his hand. "You're right! He should be done with it by now, let's go."
Dicckie smiled back at him, pleased to see him so enthusiastic again, it suited him better. "There you go, I'm positive he did an amazing job," he said, though he couldn't mask the slight hesitation in his tone.
At least, he hoped he did.
That radio freak better have made something ๐จ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฅ.

helloo! back to humbly ask for more content for him hehe but this time I wanna add for his brother as well!๐
how they'd react to their s/o sacrificing themselves to save them/for their sake? how they are in their last moments together and how they handle the aftermath? I love the Uchiha boys being soft but i cant resist the angst sometimes ๐ซฃ
thank you again! adore your work as always!
author's note: I am in an angsty mood right now, so I literally RUSHED to my drafts, so I can finish this request! Thank you so much for sending it and I really hope I did it justice! <3
โค Sasuke
The death of his s/o would be one of the two things: either the birth of the greatest villain to ever exist or the end of the 'ninja path' for Sasuke Uchiha.
It really depends on WHY did they sacrificed themselves for him or more importantly WHO took their life.
I think no matter when Sasuke has met them (before or after the war), he would take them as granted. He didn't even want to think about a scenario where they would not exist or be part of his life, let alone accept it.
So when they fell in front of him, a giant hole in their chest, his immediate reaction was shock.
This could not be happening... This should NOT be hapenning!
His whole body would be frozen and he would stay in place for at least a few minutes, till your weak attempt to mutter his name brings him back to reality. He immediately rush by their side, cradling their face in his hands while he kept muttering the same words over and over again.
"No, no, no... Don't close your eyes, you are fine! Don't... don't do this! Please!"
(the first and last time he ever said the word "please" to his s/o)
Once the realisation that there was still a battle going on hits him, his rage would erupt like a volcano. He would make sure that whoever is responsible for his s/o being gone would suffer not only painful, but also a gruesome death.
Now like I said above, why did his s/o sacrifice themselves for him and who was on the other side of the attack would be KEY details in shaping Sasuke's future.
I think if it happens way after the war (let's say 10 years+) and his s/o sacrifices themselves for him during mission or during an attack by foreign ninjas, he would most likely retire as a shinobi and seek quiet life somewhere outside Konoha.
(he not only looks like John Wick, but he also follows a similar path... ๐)
He would no doubt contribute their death to him being a ninja and I don't think he can accept the idea of continuing being one, knowing it has costed him so much. He lost EVERYTHING to that lifestyle and now all he had left were memories.
If his s/o, however, died during the war or shortly after, and have the fate to be killed by a Leaf Shinobi there is NO GOING BACK for Sasuke.
Full 100% Villain Mode!
I have no doubt that he will put all his effort, time and energy in avenging his s/o or even worse - try everything to bring them back to life!
Would wage a fifth and even a sixth world war if it means that he will finally find a way to destroy the villages, especially Konoha once and for all.
โค Itachi
The idea of death never scared Itachi.
He was responsible for countless deaths, including the ones of his own parents, and he himself was clearly seeing the upcoming end of his own life.
Yet the idea of his s/o dying was not one that ever crossed his mind. He has always imagined that they would live many, many years after him, having a beautiful family with someone who can give them everything he could not.
I imagine his s/o would die either during the fight with Sasuke or shortly after.
Just like Sasuke he would be in disbelief and shock at first, but instead of just staying frozen to the place, he would rush toward his s/o and catch them before they hit the ground.
"No... What have you done? You should've stayed away, you should've listened to me!"
Itachi is usually calm and collected, but this may be one of the few times he actually loses control (or maybe even the only one?).
If his s/o was killed before that battle by some other enemy, he would kill his enemy the same way as Sasuke - slow and gruesome, leaving the battlefield a bloody reminder of what an Uchiha is capable of in the name of love.
If Sasuke was the one that took his s/o life, he would not hold back and unleash all his power, despite his weakened state.
He would forget all his initial goals and feelings when it comes to his little brother, and would use every attack in his arsenal with the sole purpose to kill.
However, in that instance, I do think there will be a moment where he will get some clarity before the end of the fight and he is immediately filled with guilt.
If his s/o has never met him, they would still be alive. The fault was not Sasuke's - it was only his.
This would be the key moment when he loses all determination to fight and let's his younger brother take his life.
With his s/o gone, he actually looks forward death. Because maybe someday, somewhere, in another life, he would have a chance to make things right.
That moment when Zabuza died next to Haku... yep, that is Itachi next to his s/o.
He would use the last remaining energy in his body to crawl over to them and slip his hand in their cold one.
(I think I may have made myself accidentally cry with this one... :( )

What if Snape was killed by Lupin when he transformed after Sirius sent Snape there/James was too late?
There's definitely enough for a long fic here and I think there are a few different ways it could go (this is not exhaustive, there are so many domino consequences of this).
The implication from the books is that if Snape had been killed by Lupin, that Sirius would be sent to Azkaban and Lupin killed. James and Peter would have been the only Marauders left and they'd probably have been devastated. It well could have brought them closer together, or it could have driven them apart. Either option could have thwarted Peter's betrayal, either by making him more willing to stand up for James or by eliminating him from James' trusted circle.
I had always assumed (as many fans did) that the werewolf prank was in the Marauders' sixth year, but apparently there's something in DH (the book I'm least familiar with) that suggests it happens in fifth year, before O.W.L.s. This could mean fans were wrong, or it could be that Rowling messed up her own timeline.
If it did happen before Snape called Lily a "Mudblood" then she was still friends with him, and she might well refuse to ever talk to James again, especially if he ever tried to defend Sirius. This would certainly derail the whole series and maybe Neville would have been the Chosen One instead. Conversely, their grief over the death of their friends could bring them closer together if she knew James tried to intervene or he was sufficiently remorseful and they might end up closer earlier.
If it took place in sixth year, Snape's death would be less impactful on Lily. They wouldn't actively be friends and while she might not think Sirius was in the right (absolutely she would not), I think Remus' death would hit harder than Snape's at that time. Any ire against James for supporting Sirius might be less (especially if she knows of Sirius' struggles and separation from his family) but there's still the same possibilities as above.
Dumbledore would have taken a massive political hit. There would have been huge backlash to having allowed a werewolf to attend Hogwarts and he may well have lost his job. He might not have lost the confidence of the Order, but it would have hampered his ability to recruit. Even if Dumbledore kept his job, no werewolf would ever have been allowed to attend Hogwarts again, even secretly.
Now for the more interesting variations.
If Eileen Prince was dead by the time that the werewolf prank happened, then it's possible that Severus' death could have been covered up by Dumbledore. Tobias, as a muggle and one not fond of magic, probably had no idea of how to contact Hogwarts and probably wouldn't have cared much if Snape went missing. He could have assumed Snape was staying with friends, or had left school to get a job (the school leaving age being 16 in the muggle world in the 70s). Snape's friends' families could have been more of a problem but it's possible Dumbledore could have explained Snape's disappearance by his father pulling him out and moving to another country, his father calling him home for a family illness and/or even his father killing him while he was home visiting. It wouldn't have been difficult to take one muggle and change their name, move them, and make them forget they had a son. Unethical, certainly, but not undoable. Tobias also could have been dead by this time. If so, there would be no one to miss him in the muggle world and estranged relatives who'd assumed his guardianship taking him to live elsewhere could be the excuse. If it's fifth year and Snape was still friends with Lily it would be harder to handle, but as long as Tobias was gone before her parents could check, then Dumbledore could probably pull it off.
Remus killing a student would have been bad for Dumbledore politically, as explained above. Dumbledore could have decided that instead of exposing Remus to punishment, the whole matter should be hushed up. Remus was 'chronically ill'; it couldn't have been difficult to fake a worse illness that required him to leave school. Alternatively, if it was being hushed up, Remus could have stuck around, but with even more indebtedness to Dumbledore and stricter regulations. I also wouldn't put severe mental health consequences out of the question to desolate ends.
In this case, dealing with Sirius could have taken several forms. Dumbledore could have used guilt and the threat of having him arrested to push Sirius to leave Hogwarts on his own, having him run away. He could have punished him for a false reason, such as being out at night or a prank that he was caught in the midst of setting up, something that would lead to massive points loss and detentions, even expulsion if a suitable excuse could be found (though it seems very hard to expel students, considering what characters have gotten away with in the series without such an occurence). Alternatively, Sirius could have escaped punishment entirely, were it too suspicious to punish him.
The interpersonal relationship changes however, would be immense. Even if hushed up so that only, say, Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Madam Pomfrey, Sirius, Remus, and James knew what had happened, there would still be outward signs of the aftermath. Sirius and Remus' friendship would likely be permanently broken. James and Peter would be caught in the middle between them if Sirius remained at school. James wouldn't approve of what Sirius did, but if Sirius was significantly contrite, I find it possible that overtime their friendship could mend. Would Sirius still be allowed to stay with James the next summer? If James doesn't tell his parents, they'd probably still welcome him home.
Although she and the rest of the school would know that something happened from the way the Marauders were behaving, Lily probably wouldn't know what happened unless someone involved told her. She might never find out, or might only find out much later. James would probably sober up and mature quite a bit because of the incident. An estrangement from Sirius might pull James and/or Remus closer to Lily. One of them might tell her out of guilt, but if they were admitting it freely and they were at odds with Sirius, she probably wouldn't take it out on them (though she might well take it out on Sirius, even without being able to say why).
Beyond all this, it does have interesting implications for the prophecy. If there is no Snape, it's possible the first half is never given to Voldemort. If it's never given to Voldemort, he never has reason to target Neville and Harry specifically, they never go into hiding and they die or don't die/are attacked and vanquish him depending on if he attacks their families for the other reasons he already had to go after them.
If it's heard by another spy, perhaps they hear all of it because they're sneakier, or less of it, or exactly the same amount. If all, then Voldemort knows not to attack them, or attacks the parents and steals the children to raise as his own. If less, maybe he has more options and chooses a different family to attack.
Another spy likely wouldn't have turned double agent over the decision made by Voldy, so Dumbledore wouldn't have had a spy in his ranks. He would have operated with less information, though as he knew the contents of the prophecy, he could have figured out who the likely targets were and worked to draw the conclusion he wanted out.
Snape has a large impact on the later events and putting a hole in the narrative where he is would have fascinating consequences. You'd have to fill the gaps in some how, with different characters, different relationships, different series of events. Beyond setting up the Voldemort-Harry conflict, the life of every Hogwarts student from 1981(?) onward would be changed as Snape wouldn't be the potions professor.
Feel free to tag me or send an ask if you have a story that addresses this!

Here they are! Lavinia/Daisy get together headcannons!
- we all know they're dormmates ofc
- so they know each other through that
- Lavinia is lesbian, and Daisy is a lesbian
- Lavinia realises she likes girls very quickly after Kitty (who is straight as a pole mind you) in first form suggested they practised kissing so they're ready for boys
- Lavinia immediately goes and starts hyperventilating in the bathroom because 'oh god she liked it. She liked it.'
- anyway this happens and she goes on to repress this for the next 4-6 years
- repression queen <3
- despite this, she continues to have weird romantic tension with this girl in their year who's the head of the fifth form hockey team, Jean Munroe
- but Lavinia's like 'it doesn't count. Just because I pushed her up against the changing room and snogged her face off doesn't MEAN anything'
- anyway
- Daisy meanwhile also had Kitty in first form practising kissing
- (Daisy develops a brief one year crush on Kitty)
- but for Daisy it just did not click that she liked girls
- in her head she was like "oh I like this. This is wonderful and I want to do this all my life. Obviously only because Kitty is pretending to be a boy though :)"
- Jolly Foul Play was when everything fell into place for Daisy and she realised she liked girls (Astrid and Margaret fr fr)
- anyway again
- Top Marks For Murder is when Daisy begins to take โจnoticeโจ of Lavinia
- she's brash and blunt but Daisy thinks all the stuff Lavinia knows about nature and animals is pretty cool (nature conservationist Lavinia fr fr) and finds her privately quite funny
- (Daisy also thinks she cuts a fine form in her tennis uniform)
- Nothing happens though
- they start skirting round each other after TMFM
- Jean Munroe starts showing up to exeat weekends with a boyfriend and Lavinia on the inside is hurt and embarrassed and scared because she feels like she's been abandoned by everyone she's ever loved and Jean didn't even say she wanted to end it, even if there wasn't anything TO end!
- on the outside Lavinia become Spiky. She's angry, but like I said earlier, she's a repression queen
- she stays furious and sullen and for lack of a better word, bitchy, but she tells herself it's NOT because of Jean, it's not it's not it's not (it is)
- anyway again
- Death Sets Sail happens, Lavinia and George run away to the Spanish War
- Lavinia does ofc go away because of her political beliefs but also because it provides an opportunity to get away from Deepdean, and her parents, and stupid Jean
- her and George split up, she comes back a little more mature but more Lavinia than ever, trains to be an ambulance driver, all the canon stuff
- meanwhile, the war has put a strain on Daisy and Amina's relationship
- WW2 brings up a lot of painful/weird feelings for Daisy, as it sees her mother die and Fallingford get requisitioned, and Stephen is in the news as he's been let out of prison to fight on the front
- so she's going through a lot of shit
- Daisy is... happy? About her mother dying. Or at the very least feels finally free
- Amina does NOT get this, and is in fact a little bit weirded out? She ofc understands Margaret Wells was a terrible mother, but thought Daisy would hold at least a little bit of love for a dead/dying woman
- this causes a big divide when Daisy refuses to go to her funeral and Amina wants her to. They split up
- Daisy goes for a walk to clear her head, and Lavinia is just walking back from the ambulance depot
- "Heard about your mother" Lavinia says
"Who hasn't? It's on the front page of the bloody telegraph" Daisy replies bitterly
"Could've chosen a better family photo. You look terrible"
"She was an utter beastly, bitch"
"Mothers usually are" (Lavinia's mother was... not great either)
"I'll drink to that"
- and they do. They go back to Lavinia and Beanie's shared flat (Beanie is working late at the hospital) and get horrendously drunk and start telling each other how they'd kill their mothers
- 'this is what I needed' Daisy thinks, 'someone who doesn't think I'm a terrible person for hating a dead woman'
- and they end up talking about Deepdean (it's actually one of Daisy's favourite subjects, and bound to come up if she's had a few)
- they start bitching about Clementine, and Lavinia lets slip about her and Jean
- Daisy and Lavinia do a toast "to spiteful cows and our hopes for their downfall!"
- they end up on crushes after Lavinia says about her and Jean, and Daisy now lets slip about Kitty and that essentially she thought Lavinia looked hot in her tennis uniform
- long story short they end up in bed together
- and then. This keeps happening. They keep sleeping together, as well just having huge bitch fests about nearly everyone in their lives
- but they do begin to notice that they no longer have to get drunk to end up sleeping together
- there is Something There
- unfortunately Daisy brings this up and Lavinia's like Nope! Fuck off! Jean Munroe was enough woman for me! Just because I like having sex with women means absolutely fuck all, actually!
- (she's just scared and still hurting about Jean)
- anyway near the end of the war, Lavinia is caught outside in an air raid and gets badly injured
- but she doesn't go to the hospital like a stubborn fool because she thinks other people need and deserve it more
- LAVINIA YOU HAVE A BROKEN ANKLE, A BLEEDING HEAD AND THIRD DEGREE BURNS ACROSS YOUR ABDOMEN GET HELP
- she does, in fact, get help, she may be stubborn but she's not stupid enough to think she doesn't need medical attention
- obviously she ends up at Daisy's flat, I do love myself a bit of hurt/comfort
- Daisy is working late at the ministry though, and so she finds Lavinia collapsed against her door
- gently, she shakes Lavinia and cups her face 'Lavinia? Hey. Vin. Can you hear me?"
- Lavinia sort of groans back so Daisy knows she's semi ok, and helps her into the flat
- she sits Vin on the bathroom counter and gently strips her down so she can treat her abdominal burns and tilts her head up so Daisy can dab at her head wound and carefully binds her ankle
- (Lavinia makes a joke like "Daisy you perv" and Daisy's like "Lavinia. I have had sex with you at least 7 times and at least 5 of those we didn't have clothes on. Please raise your arms so I can put cream on your burns")
- it's very intimate, and they're both acutely aware of this, but Lavinia is in too much pain and Daisy is too worried about her for them to do anything about it
- Daisy puts Vin in her room and goes to leave her but Lavinia starts sobbing because she's in pain and worried about her brothers and she sees dead people everyday in her job and she misses when they were 12 and the most stressful thing was making sure they didn't wake up matron when having a midnight feast
- Daisy is like 'uhhh' and starts stroking her hair like a cat
- Lavinia starts choking out "f-fuck *sob* o-off" but Daisy stays and they both eventually fall asleep
- the next morning Daisy wakes up to Lavinia attempting to sneak it out
- it obviously goes badly because she's got a broken ankle that's swelled to the size of a balloon and badly concussed
- she's about 3 minutes away from vomiting on the floor but she's determined to get out the front door
- Daisy grabs her
- "Where do you think you're going?"
"Out. Away. Anywhere but here"
"Well. Don't."
"You're not in charge of me, Wells"
"Are you even in charge of you right now? You look as if you're about to pass out"
- Lavinia does privately agree with Daisy, as she can currently see two of her but she's stubborn as fuck so she continues to move towards the front door
- Too fast. She passes out into Daisy's arms
- she ends up back in Daisy's bed and lives with Daisy and Hazel for about a week and they get used to each other
- Lavinia realises that it was nice and when she's around Daisy, she feels safe. Her constant knot of anxiety in her chest undoes itself completely when Daisy looks at her
- and when Lavinia slaps a hand on her shoulder, or presses a kiss to her knuckles Daisy feels every bone in her body buzz excitedly
- Lavinia goes back to her flat, and life sort of resumes a bit
- but Daisy is sick of it. The fear, the uncertainty, the shame, and so bursts into Lavinia's flat
- "Detective Temple, I've, well, I've got something to say to you. Having analysed all the facts, I've come to the conclusion that I'm in love with you, and you're... in love with me. Or that I'm having some sort of ghastly allergic reaction to you. Possibly"
- Daisy is standing her ground but is wide eyed and shaking
- Lavinia stands up from her kitchen table
- "Do shut up, Wells" and Lavinia gives her a big open mouthed kiss
- Beanie and George who had been having breakfast with Vin and watching all of this unfold are all ๐๐๐
- and that's sort of that really
- also just because I feel the need to clarify everything Lavinia also feels her knot of anxiety unravel when with George, and Daisy, while Hazel doesn't ignite feelings of excitement in her bones, she does cause Daisy to feel completely at peace and content in her mind

A.I Mozenrath: 1
Mozenrath "Okay, okay, let's look at the big picture: I have the Genie, Aladdin is dead, and my plans for world conquest are shaping up nicely. All in all, it's been a good night..."
Aladdin "Looks like someone forgot to take his meds..." Aladdin shakes his head. "I'm not dead, Moze!"
Mozenrath "What!? You're supposed to be dead!"
Aladdin "Well, I'm not."
Mozenrath "That's... highly inconvenient."
Aladdin "It's highly convenient for me."
Mozenrath "Hmph. Don't push your luck, Aladdin. I could easily turn your life into a nightmare with the click of a finger."
Aladdin "You mean like you tried to do for the past few years?"
Mozenrath "Look, I'm a little surprised right now, okay. I've been planning this for years and this is a bit of a blindside. You can give me the grace period of at least 30 seconds to adjust my plans to the fact that you're not dead."
Aladdin "Sorry, no can do there, Moze." Aladdin walks up to Mozenrath. "What type of hero would I be if I didn't ruin your plans? I don't wanna make you feel neglected."
Mozenrath Mozenrath narrows his eyes at the Aladdin as he reaches into his cloak for his wand. "You're playing a dangerous game, "hero." You know, I could make you disappear right now and they'd never find your corpse."
Aladdin "Try me, Moze." Aladdin winks, grabbing his wrist that's reaching into his cloak.
Mozenrath He grimaces as he pulls his arm back, taking the wand out. "This is the last mistake you'll ever make, "hero." He casts a spell, a bright blue light shining from his wand, and Aladdin disappears into a small pile of ash.
Aladdin "Still here, Moze!" Another Aladdin calls out from behind him
Mozenrath Mozenrath's eyes bulge in shock. "What the...?!"
Aladdin "Over here, Moze!" Another Aladdin calls from his side.
Mozenrath He turns his head in that direction. "How can this be possible!? How are you not dead!? Where is this magical power coming from?!"
Aladdin "Hey! Don't listen to them! Pay attention to me!" A third Aladdin calls out from the rafts on the ceiling.
Mozenrath He looks around confusedly at every voice. "What is happening here?! Where are they all coming from?!"
Aladdin "Are you ok, Moze? You don't look well." Yet another Aladdin says
Mozenrath He growls in frustration. "How can there be so many of you, Aladdin!? How many of you am I going to have to kill before you stay dead permanently!?"
Aladdin A fifth Aladdin speaks up. "Oh, I don't think you can even kill one let alone multiples."
Mozenrath "A fifth?! When does it end, Aladdin?!" He turns to face one of the Aladdins. "What's going on here? How did you survive my spell, and why are there so many of you!?"
Aladdin The sixth Aladdin speaks up. "Oh, him? Nah, Moze... He was number eighty-four."
Mozenrath His jaw drops. "Eighty-four!?"
Aladdin "Yep!" The first one speaks up. "Genie's magic went haywire. So apparently we're multiplying by the minute."
Mozenrath "I... I see. How many Aladdins are out there? How many more will I have to deal with today?!"
Aladdin The seventh Aladdin begins to count on his fingers. "Hmmm... how many minutes are in a day, Moze?"
Mozenrath "The day has 1,440 minutes." His eyes widen. "That is not a small numberโฆ"
Aladdin "Ding ding ding!!! We have a winner!" The third Aladdin speaks up. "Everyone give Moze a round of applause!" The third Aladdin claps, followed by the rest.
Mozenrath "Hmph!ย So, there are potentially thousands of you running around right now? And you're all here to ruin my plans..."
Aladdin The second Aladdin speaks up. "Look, like what the eighty-fourth Aladdin said, we're not gonna make you feel neglected."
Mozenrath "Just... why, Aladdin? What did I do to deserve all this?" He gestures at the army of Aladdins. "I've been planning this for years, working tirelessly to finally complete my goal, and now you're here to ruin everything?!"

Tricia Boden Biography
Full Name: Patricia Ann Boden
Nicknames: Tricia
FaceClaim: Bianca Lawson
Birthday: July 21st
Parents: Wallace Boden; Donna Boden
Siblings: Terrence Boden (older brother)
Patricia was very much a surprise. In fact, Donna really didn't know she was pregnant until she went to the hospital for severe abdominal pain and they told her she was in labor. She vividly remembers laughing in the doctor's face, telling him that was literally impossible; she was told after she had Terrence she could never get pregnant again. It was only when the urge to push happened, and she bore down, that she realized the doctor was right. Not even five minutes later and Tricia was making her very unannounced and unexpected entrance into the world. After some testing was done, the doctors came to the conclusion that Tricia was 36 weeks and healthy, despite Donna not having the proper prenatal care as she did with her older son. They did end up keeping the baby in the NICU for observation for a few days, but less than a week after arriving, Tricia was able to go home with her very shocked - though pleasantly surprised - parents. While Donna rested at home with the baby, Wallace took the then six-year-old Terrence shopping with him for essentials. Considering they'd not expected to have a baby, they needed pretty much everything. Given how she came into this world and how her parents were so unsuspecting of it, she was possibly spoiled a little more than she should have been, a fact which would prove to be a mistake as she grew older. Elementary school was quite interesting for Tricia. she was a fast learner, but she was also a big talker. Every year, her teachers would bring it up at conferences, and every year nothing would change. Donna and Wallace would try everything, from punishments to bribes, but Tricia would just laugh them off and the talking continued. It would only stop when her fourth grade teacher began separating her from her other classmates during lessons. She soon grew tired of being isolated and learned to be respectful during class to stay with the rest of the students. Middle school wasn't much better than elementary school. In fact, it got worse because Tricia had to deal with those pesky bodily changes, while also attempting to maintain the popularity status she had enjoyed during grade school - a much harder feat given there were way more kids in junior high than there had been in fifth grade. Seventh grade was when Tricia slowly started learning what her hobbies and activities were. She began participating in various extracurriculars, eventually coming to love cheerleading, track, and drama; activities that continued throughout high school. High school was a real test for Tricia. While she'd definitely gained popularity in middle school, that began to dwindle when people realized her mom was also one of their chemistry teachers. Nothing made a student's reputation drop more than having a teacher as a parent. Suddenly, Tricia was viewed as a goody-two-shoes, a reputation she had no intention in preserving. So while she didn't do anything that would ruin her chances of being on her sports teams, she did stop putting as much effort into her school work. And, much to her parents' chagrin and disbelief, she began to talk back to teachers - especially Donna - to "prove" to her "friends" that she was tough and cool. Now, she is a senior and is facing the prospect of what life has to offer after school. While her grades are far from perfect, she thinks they might be enough to at least get her into a community college, where she is thinking about taking the necessary classes to become a paramedic, something she hopes will make her parents proud (something she knows she has yet to do).

It was not his decision. The producers said they wanted a shocking twist and that they would be killing him off for a big new story to kick off. He was quite teary talking about it when interviewed.
Anonymousย asked: Rishi was axed :( Bhasker said on a TV interview this morning the producer rung him up and told him they were killing him off for a big story and a big surprise.
Aww that's sad that he was axed, especially because Bhasker seems like such a nice guy who really enjoyed the job.
Thinking about it more, I'm really of two minds about it all.
On the one hand, I can commend them for actually making a real decision and taking a risk like this rather than just killing off characters whose actors have quit. I can also commend them for managing to keep this quiet so that it was actually a shock death despite the heavy foreshadowing in the episode.
And I said before, they haven't really known what to do with Rishi for years and without Priya too, he's definitely become more of a spare part but at the same time, he's a more relevant, less dull character than say Harriet who they also axed. And with the story at hand and Jai's impending guilt, it's definitely a death that will be more meaningful than some others. And I think in that sense, it's potentially a good risk to take.
On the other hand, the story to get there is...meh. I mean I've seen it pointed out that this is like the fourth or fifth time they've gone for the whole I'm not your dad it's my brother story and that's totally true. We had Cain be Zak's and not Shadrach's. We had the whole Adam is James's son and not John's and the really stupid story with Amelia being Daz's and not Dan's, which was extra irrelevant. So it's really just an overdone story at this point, which is pretty par for the course with the terrible trio. But it also just feels even more cruel to the characters since they then killed Rishi off without any resolution and I'm sure Jai's guilt over all of this will be exhausting to watch. It sort of feels like shock for shock's sake and cheap drama. It depends on what they do with it.
I can commend them on wanting to build up a non Dingle family, but I feel like this whole story has been rushed and a bit short sighted. Everyone immediately knew the brother twist and that Suni would be Jai's half brother. But like imagine if they'd brought Suni months ago and used him in the Nicky story instead of Ally. We'd have seen Nicky sort of reluctantly start something with Gabby and then meet Suni and hit it off with him and it would be clear that something was happening between them and we could have gotten the gay reveal before the Caleb reveal so you would have been intrigued why he would continue this relationship with Gabby and that would make the Caleb reveal more interesting. Plus we could have really seen the Nicky/Suni relationship develop as part of a larger plot and then try and work things out after it all came out rather than Ally just immediately exiting stage left never to be seen or heard of again. And then we wouldn't have immediately suspected that Suni was Jai's brother.
I don't know. I just think there were ways to rebuild the Sharma family without it having to be a paternity twist. And if they then bring in Suni's dad or Suni's sister than it really does feel like they just cleared out one set of Sharmas (Rishi, Priya, Nikhil) and replaced them with another (Amit, Suni, Nisha) and that's not really building up the family.
Ah well...at least I like Suni as an addition so far. There's that. But I'm sad for Bhasker and I'm not exactly looking forward to Jai's impending grief and guilt spiral and I really hope they don't do to Jai and Laurel what they did to Leyla and Liam after Leanna's death. I want Jai and Laurel to stay together and I don't want anyone to relapse please. We can touch on it, but I can't deal with any more drug storylines for quite a while after the Leyla debacle.

Umm... So I'm not a really good writer, but I have a lot of ideas I believe would make good plots, even though I've never been able to write my own fic. Well, I had this idea that I knew needed to exist and that I wasn't enough to do justice to, so I decided to ask if you could write this since you're such an amazing writer and are able to keep the Winchesters so close to their own selves, even in situations so different from their own lives. So, here goes nothin':
Have you ever seen The Amazing Race? It's a tv show on Paramount+ that's currently in its.... 35 season? I think? (I can't remember, we just binged season 33 and that was the Covid year season. ) But my family and I were watching it and all of a sudden I wondered: What would happen if Dean and Sam Winchester were on a season of The Amazing Race? What challenges would they excell in? Which ones would trip them up? What would they say during the interviews, since there's no way they could talk about their actual lives and what they do for a living? What kind of relationships would they form with the various other teams? Would Sam and Dean win the race? If not, how far would they get?
Not as like, an au or anything like that, but as a Sammy Put In An Application For Us As A Joke But Then They Actually Picked Us And Now Our Friends Won't Let Us Pass This Up thing. Wouldn't that be so fun? Like, Sam and Dean are so used to working together under stressful circumstances, and they know how to pack lightly and effectively, so they probably would be the most prepared team out there right off the bat. And then in one of their little 'interview cuts' they'd talk about their family, about Cas and Jack and how Dean and Cas are essentially married ("Shut up, Sammy! I'm not- We're not- Dude!" *cue blush**Sam whispers 'Yeah they are' to the camera*) Sometimes the other teams will be all "How on earth are they so GOOD at this?!?!?" when the boys are excelling at the more unusual roadblocks and challenges.
This would be such an Amazing fic, and I know that I am nowhere near able to do it justice. I humbly ask if you would do me the honor of writing this story.
Hi there! I am wildly aware of the Amazing Race, and have watched every season since it first began way back in... i think 2001? that seems right. I don't know if you're aware that I have written an Amazing Race-esque fic. It's the fifth (and currently the last, but I always think I'd like to go back at visit the 'verse again) installment of the Tumblr Anonymous 'verse that begins with Project Beyonce.
It does take place in an AU where there's no hunting, but they do have useful skills, and was written back in 2016 so there's no Jack. But rather than make up a dozen teams of complete strangers/oc's for them to compete against, I sort of... just made all the teams their friends (all spn characters you will recognize) for reasons that are entirely clear in-story (especially if you've read the prior stories in the 'verse). I just wanted an excuse to send them all on this journey. :)
The one thing I learned from writing it though was that I never, ever wanted to have to write another version of it. All the respect to the people who plan and execute the Amazing Race because they are champions of logistics! I did it once, and only in a work of fiction, and that was more than enough lolol. Though I would be thrilled if someone else took up the challenge to make this a canon or canon-adjacent fic! It's just... not gonna be me, sorry!
This was possibly the most logistically complicated thing I've ever written. It's called Around the World in 24 Days, and I hope it does at least a little bit to satisfying your craving for the race!
and seriously, thank you for appreciating my writing! :D

Even More About TOY STORY 5
Usually, these kinds of announcements make me think and rethink and sometimes overthink the nature of animated movie sequels made in the West, but also just the way some sequels are done...
Some people on twitter did ask aloud... Why the hype for a fifth SHREK, but not a fifth TOY STORY movie? A lot of the answers were, reasonably, to the tune of "TOY STORY had *two* definitive endings"...
That's a great explanation.
There's a real finality to both TOY STORY 3 and TOY STORY 4, unusual for animated family movie sequels made to two already blockbuster, beloved, popular animated movies in a capitalist American landscape. Especially ones coming from a conglomerate as massive as Disney... And if there's one thing we should've realized over the past 5-10 years, it's that it is never over until they pass away... Almost like one's life. Someone I know on Twitter put it that way in the wake of the TOY STORY 5 announcement. Not that Woody or Buzz or any of the gang died, but the endings were like goodbyes... TOY STORY 3 was the gang's goodbye to a young adult Andy, and TOY STORY 4 was Woody's goodbye to his long-time family. I mean, how do you go on from there? A new story for just Woody? A new story for Buzz and the Bonnie's room gang? Do Woody and Bo go traveling and pay a brief visit to Bonnie's room to check in on Buzz and the gang? I think retconning the ending of TOY STORY 4, no matter how divisive it may have been, would be kind of cowardly. Director Josh Cooley and the writer made their storytelling choices, no matter how they'd be received... The next filmmaker to take on these characters and world ought to make their own mark, just like Cooley did with his film.
Maybe it could be, as I stated in an earlier post on here... A story that starts fresh with a whole new gang of toys? After all, the title *is* TOY STORY... Not WOODY AND BUZZ. Close one door, open another to a new room? Would the filmmakers at Pixar even consider doing that? A franchise as old and as massive as STAR WARS can't even get away from the Skywalkers or the familiar eras of its universe for a minute, so I doubt that TOY STORY would do that. People are there for those movies because of the characters to begin with, I reckon. That's likely why LIGHTYEAR had a hard time at the box office this past summer; it features Buzz Lightyear, yes... But it wasn't the comical and dutiful toy Buzz voiced by Tim Allen who was pals with the Woody doll. Nor was it the funny space ranger Buzz as seen in the TV series BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF STAR COMMAND. I think that was partially a turn-off for audiences, it deviated too much from the character everyone is familiar with. Audiences must've looked at those trailers and thought it was supposed to be like a cynical, gritty reboot of something associated with a family franchise. Almost like an animated equivalent of one of those recent remakes of a Disney animated feature.
I reckon TOY STORY 5 will at least star someone from the originals.
Who is to say it can't be a midquel? If the ending of TOY STORY 4 is such a concern, there could be a story set at Andy's house, or Bonnie's house between the events of TOY STORY 3 and TOY STORY 4. TOY STORY 4 notes that about two years had passed since the ending of TOY STORY 3, and the two TV specials - TOY STORY OF TERROR! and TOY STORY THAT TIME FORGOT - took place between the two... They just can't call it TOY STORY 5, then... But no matter. Pixar already made a prequel with MONSTERS UNIVERSITY some 10 years ago. Several other recent Disney releases across all their outlets have gotten prequels and midquels and such. For me personally, maybe a midquel is the best route they can go. They can still have Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as Woody and Buzz together, though the existence of the movie *could* still somewhat feel weird... Didn't TOY STORY 4 *just* happen? Didn't that just *end*? But it's either that, a new adventure set after TOY STORY 4, or possibly a full-blown prequel that details Woody's life when he was Andy's father's toy in the '50s/'60s.
I also thought about something else... Actually, this is something I always have stored in my file-cabinet brain...
Pixar, and by extension, Western animation's weird history with sequels... Which I did an article on not too, too long ago.
When The Walt Disney Company acquired Pixar in early 2006, it put an end to the strict original contract that Pixar signed back in 1991. The three-film deal that added a five-film deal on top of it. The veru contract that *didn't allow them to make sequels*, which absolutely played into the rift between the two parties that TOY STORY 2's existence created in the early 2000s. TOY STORY 2 happened because it was supposed to be a direct-to-video sequel produced by a B-team at a different studio altogether. Keep in mind that Disney was likely scared off of doing theatrical animated sequels after years of flop sequels and one of their own - THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER - coming up short at the box office. No truly successful Western animated movie sequel existed until TOY STORY 2 came out.
Pixar then took over this DTV affair, were able to get it bumped to theatrical status, but Disney did not count it as part of the contract and initially agreed to *not* put worth any more sequels without Pixar's permission... Which meant that no sequel was in the cards, period, for a long while... Imagine, if the rules hadn't been so strict, how many sequels we would've gotten between 1999 and 2010. We would've at least had a TOY STORY 3 by 2005, and possibly an A BUG'S LIFE sequel too, being one of the looser and breezier Pixars that arguably could've gotten a followup back then.
Now, things got heated in 2004, when Pixar was looking to split from Disney after their original contract was up following the pending completion and release of CARS (back then aiming for a fall 2005 debut, almost exactly a calendar year after THE INCREDIBLES). Disney had first rights to those movies and characters made up until that point, and while there was a gentleman's agreement between them and Pixar that promised no Pixar-less sequels made without Pixar's blessing, Disney went back on it. They played dirty, they played hardball. They readied Pixar-less sequels - TOY STORY 3, MONSTERS, INC. 2: LOST IN SCARADISE, and FINDING NEMO 2 - at a newly-minted studio called Circle 7 Animation... By 2005, it wasn't looking good, and it put fans at an interesting fork in the road...
Of course, the story ended with then-CEO Michael Eisner stepping down from Disney in September 2005, his replacement Bob Iger initiating the $7b purchase of Pixar in early 2006, and Pixar operating free of contract and able to make the movies - including sequels - that they wanted to make. It's no surprise that the first new movie they announced that was in development, post-acquisition, was *their* TOY STORY 3 and not the Circle 7 movie with Buzz Lightyear being recalled to Taiwan. Though not announced till 2010, MONSTERS UNIVERSITY went into active development right around that time, too.
But let's pretend it's mid-2005 again... What if Pixar did leave? It would mean that they wouldn't have made the sequels to their pre-RATATOUILLE movies. Post-RATATOUILLE movies, wherever they would've been made, would've absolutely gotten sequels. Disney/Circle 7 would've cranked out their TOY STORY/MONSTERS/FINDING/INCREDIBLES/CARS movies, and possibly an A BUG'S LIFE sequel for good measure... This would've been a wildly different timeline, to say the least. The original filmmakers were around, but not able to make the sequel to *their* first few films made for Disney... But they also wouldn't have had to have made sequels to appease Disney shareholders... It's almost like a weird red pill-blue pill situation. Either path opened or would've opened a Pandora's Box...
For me personally... At least the Pixar sequels are being made at Pixar, with as much of the original creators involved as possible. I know most folks on the Internet made it official that the likes of MONSTERS UNIVERSITY and FINDING DORY and INCREDIBLES 2 and TOY STORY 4 were factually subpar movies, but they were at least made by a lot of their originators. I also happened to quite like, and in some cases even love those films. INCREDIBLES 2 is one of my favorite animated movie sequels, actually, but most people in the internet film and animation circles seem to really not like it much. Though, you could argue that the Circle 7 movies would've been made by fresh blood bringing their own unique take to the material? I don't know if that would've happened in a theoretical scenario where Pixar and Disney Co. *did* split in 2005: Disney in those final years under Eisner was not a pretty landscape on the animation end of things... Disney Feature Animation's morale was at a terrible low under execs like David Stainton, and they released a string of box office disappointments (many of which also got mixed to poor critical reception) tempered by one lone hit. Many animation fans found the direct-to-video Disney sequels to be of poor quality, too... So, would the Circle 7 movies had been any better under those circumstances?
That's the weird thing about that biz. You gain one thing, lose another, vice-versa. There's never a perfect scenario going forward, as there is always a sacrifice. Maybe there is potential in an alternate timeline where sequels to TOY STORY/MONSTERS/NEMO/INCREDIBLES/CARS are so-so under Disney/Circle 7 while Pixar thrives with their post-RATATOUILLE originals and sequels to those movies. Maybe not.
This brings me back to the question... Why the hesitance to see Woody and Buzz again, but not other animated movie sequels?
The thing is, like I said earlier... Things don't end. There will be, for instance, STAR WARS and Marvel and DC and probably even FAST & FURIOUS movies til the end of movies. Animated movies are no exception, money absolutely drives these decisions, as do audiences' love for the characters. Look at how PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH is doing. Look at how MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU did. If there can be more, there will be more... The only $1b-grossing movie that can't feasibly get a sequel is TITANIC, everything else in this world is fair game under the more-more-more capitalism of Hollywood. Everything is rebooted or brought back. Remakes of animated movies, previous iterations of superheroes appearing in new films (i.e. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's respective goes at Peter Parker showing up in SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck's BATMAN showing up in THE FLASH this summer), legacy sequels like TOP GUN: MAVERICK, etc. etc. It's just the way the tides have been flowing, and animated features made into boffo box office hits by large swaths of families are no exception... No matter how the filmmakers choose to end the individual chapters.
Heck, why do those live-action and all-CG tech demo Disney remakes exist? Partially because the originals were 2D animated movies, direct-to-video sequels were made to them already, 2D is barely used for features like that at the big studios these days, most of those movies are way older and had completely different crews working on them under completely different circumstances... Like, there's a reason Jon Favreau's LION KING and the upcoming MUFASA prequel exist, but *not* a proper LION KING sequel made at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2D or in a PAPERMAN-esque CG style that's being used for their upcoming WISH. The majority of these remakes made a lot of money, they are the brand extensions of the original animated classics if actual canon made-in-house sequels are not or can not be. As such, tech-demo LION KING has a prequel, a live-action ALADDIN sequel was lined up a while back, ditto a tech-demo (with one live actor) JUNGLE BOOK follow-up.
Some tend to be more open-ended than others, though. TOY STORY 3 and TOY STORY 4 are supposedly definitive ends, but billion dollar grosses talked... SHREK FOREVER AFTER may have closed the book on SHREK, but a $700m+ worldwide gross sure as hell talked, so it was never going to be the true ending anyways. DreamWorks may have planned to just make PUSS IN BOOTS movies from there on out, but shit happened, DreamWorks had financial troubles up until Comcast bought them (who no doubt want lots of new sequels from them, see BOSS BABY 2/3, TROLLS 3 and KUNG FU PANDA 4 happening), so... SHREK 5 is a definite, and it *was* on the boards well before Comcast bought them, too. They were talking about making one as far back as 2014, only four years after SHREK FOREVER AFTER - billed as "The Final Chapter" in the ads - was released... Hell, do you remember when... In 2004... The plan was... Four SHREK movies, a SHREK prequel, *and* PUSS IN BOOTS as a direct-to-DVD movie? Again. Never over. TOY STORY 4 is just the end of that particular story, as was SHREK FOREVER AFTER. There is no "final chapter", unless everyone gets killed off... Then a reboot happens, new timeline, new universe-whatever... But that's not happening in one of these movies.
It only ends when the grosses don't come in... Pixar likely won't make a CARS 4 because the third movie barely broke even, if at all, and toy sales for it were underwhelming as well. CARS ON THE ROAD, the Disney+ series that debuted this past September, could've evolved from the canceled fourth feature film from a director (Steve Purcell) who helmed many of the show's episodes. It kind of felt like a condensed road trip, a silly throwaway fun movie that leans into - arguably - the franchise's strengths. I wouldn't be surprised if CARS ON THE ROAD is a reworked version of the unmade CARS 4. On the DreamWorks end of things, there would likely never be a sequel to PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR, which was a "flop" to their estimation. A fourth MADAGASCAR movie proper, though? Yeah, likely. I'm surprised it hasn't been hinted at or announced recently, that's one of the original DreamWorks franchises, the 2nd movie of theirs to get a sequel (not counting PRINCE OF EGYPT's direct-to-video spin-off JOSEPH: KING OF DREAMS) after SHREK. Sony Animation may say that HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: TRANSFORMANIA was the end, but I kind of doubt that. Netflix movies may not collect blockbuster grosses, but that doesn't stop sequels from coming: See... Ahem, THE SEA BEAST 2. Universal still plans on making a LEGO MOVIE 3 despite how poorly Warner's LEGO MOVIE 2 and NINJAGO did at the box office. Outside of those heavies... Don't expect, say, a NUT JOB 3 to ever happen. Again, a gross says all, and not the way the thing ends...
And I totally get being upset about that. There's something nice about a story that closes the book and wraps things up. All good things come to an end, right? Well, that end takes forever in Hollywood and in the Western feature animation industry, for sure. There's also the option of departing the train if you don't feel like staying onboard anymore. Maybe some of these franchises should make like comics and just reboot. Start over. All new storyline, all new timeline, things happen differently... Leaves the story you like untouched and with a definitive ending, but continues the franchise. What if TOY STORY 5 was just that? Not at all a continuation of TOY STORY 4, or at all set in that world that the filmmakers created and played with for so many years?
At this point, to me, it really *is* like comics... 50, 60, 70, 80+ years later, there are still stories featuring iconic characters like Batman and Spider-Man. Reinventions, so many iterations of different characters... I think that's what it's all becoming, but in big budget movie form. Look at manga and anime, for example. How many POKEMON, DRAGON BALL, SHIN-CHAN, DETECTIVE CONAN and DORAEMON movies are there, again? They'll only stop if people stop going to see them. If one of these stories ends like, say, a bleak drama, then they won't get sequels... So little by little, I start to fall off of the "it's the definitive ending" thing. Maybe for you personally, it is. I might have a cut-off myself, depending on what TOY STORY 5 is about. I've kind of fallen off the STAR WARS train, as far as live-action goes...
It's a very sequel-heavy world, and TOY STORY 5 is just further proof of that, but it's interesting how a fifth movie in one franchise is perceived vs. how the other one is...

i prayed one word (i want)
Ship: Ominis Gaunt x Ravenclaw Female Player Character Rating: M (eventually)
Summary: When Sebastian tells Ominis about the new fifth-year student, Ominis can sense troubles from a mile away - and tells Sebastian as much. Unfortunately for Ominis, he doesn't seem to be able to take his own advice. ao3 link, Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Ominis barely suppresses a sigh - it seems as though the double Potions class will never end. He's always been a decent student and has enjoyed most of his classes - but Potions is by far his least favorite subject.
"I'm amazed you manage to get the grades you get," Sebastian told him once after they'd received back the grades from a particularly difficult test, "I can see the things I'm adding to my brew, and even still I'm utterly and completely lost most of the time. What's your secret?"
Ominis just shrugged in response - he'd gotten "Acceptable" on that test, which wasn't exactly something to brag about. In truth, he always struggled with Potions - the kind of concentration it required made that class significantly more complex than all the other subjects. It seemed as though to make a perfect brew, every step needed to be meticulously recorded in one's mind, as even the tiniest distraction could spell disaster, and Ominis found that so utterly exhausting.
Loud clanking, followed by Sebastian cursing under his breath, distracts Ominis from his thoughts. They are brewing the Draught of Peace, a potion that's supposed to ease anxiety and agitation, yet Ominis - and, he suspects, most other students in the class - find the process of making this brew anything but peaceful. As if the recipe requiring two dozen ingredients wasn't bad enough, there also were what felt like a thousand little instructions that were absolutely crucial - and, as a consequence, at least a thousand ways to mess this potion up.
Ominis has long given up on making the perfect brew - somewhere after step eight, he's accidentally lost track of just how many times he stirred the potion counter-clockwise, and now all he could do is finish the task and hope for the best. Judging by the under-the-breath cursing coming from the direction of Sebastian's workstation, his friend is struggling too. Sebastian has stayed up the entire night, reading the notebook they'd found in Salazar Slytherin's scriptorium, and has been barely able to focus in any of the classes. Ominis is almost surprised that Sebastian's cauldron hasn't exploded yet, given the complexity of the potion.
"Blasted," Sebastian swears, and suddenly, the dungeon air's filled with the foul scent of sulfur.
"You added too much moonstone, Mr. Sallow," Professor Sharp says calmly - his voice sounds closer than it does when he gives instructions at the start of the class, and Ominis realizes that he must be making rounds, checking everyone's work, "And you did not reduce the flames as instructed - hence the sulfur smell. The Draught of Peace is significantly more complex than any potion you've brewed before - you must pay close attention to the directions."
"Sorry, Professor Sharp," Sebastian replies, then whispers, "I much prefer being anxious every day for the rest of my life to ever attempting this potion again."
Ominis can only chuckle and nod in agreement. Surprisingly, despite the treacherous nature of the Draught, only two people need to leave before the lesson is over - Everett Clopton and Lenora Everleigh. Clopton's cauldron explodes halfway through the first hour, scalding him and drenching everything around his workstation with foul-smelling sludge, while Everleigh's potion boils away so much, it starts releasing noxious fumes that make her - and everyone around - feel sick.
A small part of Ominis almost wishes something happened to his potion so that he can get out of the class early, but he knows better than to try to make an accident happen. With a brew like the Draught of Peace, there is no predicting what could occur, and the last thing he wants is to end up at the Hospital Wing, scalded by a wave of disgusting sludge. Especially since he'd promised Ava to meet her in the Undercroft after Potions class to teach her Glacius.
Unlike Sebastian and him, Ava appears to have a much easier time brewing the Draught of Peace.
"Excellent job, Miss Rosier," Professor Sharp says, "Your potion is the perfect color."
Professor Sharp has never been particularly generous with compliments, so Ominis knows Ava's potion must be very impressive.
"And you, Mr. Weasely," Professor Sharp continues, "Could learn a thing or two from Miss Rosier."
"Perhaps, if Miss Rosier would agree to tutor me, I could learn much more than a thing or two," Garreth Weasley responds, and Ominis scoffs. As if she doesn't have better things to do.
"I wouldn't count on it," Ava says coolly, "I'm woefully short on time with all the catching up I have to do before the O.W.L.s."
"You give yourself too little credit," Weasley laughs, "At the rate you're studying, I'm sure you'll be able to pass the N.E.W.T.s before the end of the year."
Upon hearing that, Ominis frowns. How does Weasley know that? Do they study together? Instantly catching himself, Ominis pushes the thought away - even if they do study together, it's none of his concern.
The lesson slowly draws to a close, and Professor Sharp instructs them to bottle up the potions and submit them for grading. Ominis pours his potion into the vial and seals it with the spell. He knows his brew is not perfect - Sebastian had told him it looked closer to beige than silvery white - but he's confident it's close enough to earn him a passing grade.
He's halfway through cleaning off his workstation when he hears Weasley approach Ava again.
"Hey, Ava, do you have a moment after class?" he asks, "There's something I wanted to show you."
"Sorry, Garreth, but I can't today - I have an appointment to keep," Ava replies.
"How intriguing," Weasley chuckles, "And would that "appointment" just happen to be a date?"
Ominis shakes his head - Garreth sounds too invested in Ava's extracurricular activities to his liking.
"Why do you ask?" Ava responds fatly.
"Perhaps I'm scoping out the competition," Garreth laughs.
Ominis almost drops his brass scales - that answer was quite daring, even for a bone-headed Gryffindor like Garreth. Just what does he think he's doing?
"Weasley really can't take the hint, can he?" Sebastian scoffs, "If he wants to be embarrassed, he should do it on his own time, not in class when the rest of us are forced to listen to this."
Ominis sighs - caught up in his own annoyance, he hasn't even thought of how difficult this might be for Sebastian. Ever since the trip to the scriptorium, he has suspected that Ava had feelings for Sebastian - after all, she'd agreed to be tortured by Crucio to spare him the pain - but, perhaps, her feelings weren't as one-sided as Ominis initially assumed.
"Bold," Ava's amused voice distracts him from the thought, "I like that in a man. Alas, your curiosity will have to remain unsated - I can't go on telling you all of my secrets now, can I? My mother always said a lady doesn't kiss and tell."
A sudden wave of warmth rises in Ominis's cheeks at her words, and an unfamiliar feeling stirs in his chest. Confused by his reaction, he quickly grabs the vial containing his Draught of Peace and walks over to Professor Sharp's desk to submit it. Mercifully, the conversation between Garreth and Ava is over by the time he's back at his workstation.
As soon as the bell rings, bringing the joyous news that the double Potions lesson is finally over, the students instantly pour out of the classroom into the corridor.
"I'm exhausted," Sebastian complains, yawning as he walks next to Ominis, "But I have to get back to the notebook. I made some real progress last night - the key to breaking Anne's curse is right there; I can feel it."
"Please be careful," Ominis says wearily - he knows that Sebastian's only half-listening but still feels that it's his duty as a friend to warn him, "Salazar Slytherin was no stranger to the darkest sort of magic - this notebook may be much more dangerous than you think."
"If it brings me closer to finding a cure for Anne, I'll handle whatever it throws at me," Sebastian replies defiantly, "And besides, how dangerous can a thousand-year-old book really be?"
Ominis sighs - Sebastian always took dark magic way too lightly.
"You'd be surprised," is all he says.
"Ominis, you worry too much," Sebastian chuckles, "I'll be alright. I have to go now - I will see you later."
With that, Sebastian is gone, leaving Ominis to shake his head. Once Sebastian sets his sights on something, he never veers off course - that was his greatest strength and his greatest tragedy.
"Hi, Ominis," lost in his thought, he doesn't notice Ava approach him, "Ready for our lesson?"
"Hi, Ava," Ominis smiles, "Of course."
There are only a few routes in the castle that Ominis knows better than the one from the dungeons to the Undercroft. "You have quite a talent for potions," Ominis remarks as he and Ava walk up the stairs, "I rarely hear Sharp praise anyone - he must have been really impressed by your draught."
"That makes me feel quite special," Ava chuckles, then lowers her voice, whispering conspiratorially, "Can you keep a secret?"
"I'll take your secret to my grave," Ominis promises, his tone faux-solemn.
"You see, when I said my magic abilities didn't manifest until I was fifteen, that wasn't entirely true - otherwise, my parents would have disowned me for being a squib years ago. I've always had someโฆvestiges of magic abilities - not strong enough to cast a single spell, but enough to make it possible for me to create potions. I've spent hours upon hours with my mother's old Potions textbooks, brewing all kinds of draughts - my parents thought doing so would awaken my magic. I don't have any particular talent for potions - I've just spent a lot of time practicing.
Ominis nods in understanding, his heart clenching with sympathy - he knows all too well how squib children are treated in pure-blood families with a penchant for dark magic.
"I disagree," he says gently, "I've been learning potions for the last five years, and I still cannot brew a decent Draught of Peace, so I definitely believe you have a talent for the subject."
"If you think so," Ava replies softly.
They reach the Undercroft and, ensuring no one's around to see them, walk through the hidden door in the clock. Once inside, Ominis settles his book bag on top of a wooden crate and walks toward the back of the room, where more crates and barrels are located.
"Ready to learn Glacius?" he asks Ava.
"Of course," she says, "I did some reading after you mentioned this spell yesterday, and I think it'll be extremely helpful to know."
"It has certainly come in handy for me before," Ominis responds, "Shall we begin?"
With that, he turns towards the crates and whispers, "Accio," to bring one of them forward.
"Since you've read up on Glacius, you must know that it freezes the object in front of you by releasing a wave of cold air from your wand," Ominis explains, "And this is the wand movement."
With a well-practiced hand, Ominis slowly traces an all-too-familiar movement of Glacius - a peak and then another, underlined by a decisive stroke.
A myriad of tiny ice crystals, sharp as knives, ring through the air, followed by a wave of cold wind. A moment later - a familiar cracking sound of ice forming over the wooden crate fills the Undercroft.
"It froze solid," Ava muses, "That was quite impressive."
"Do you want to try now?" Ominis offers, lowering his wand.
"Could you show it to me again?" Ava asks, "You are amazingly fast with the wand - so I just want to ensure I caught every detail."
Her words bring a smile to his face. "I was planning to walk you through it when you cast it for the first time," he says, "But if you prefer to see it again, I'm happy to show you."
"I think it'll be easier to learn if you show me again," Ava replies.
Ominis nods and lifts his wand - mere seconds later, the air in the Undercroft fills with the sound of the ice forming over wood again.
"Well," Ominis says, turning to Ava, "It's your turn now."
Ava does not argue - he hears her walk up and stand next to him.
"Do you feel comfortable casting the spell right away, or would you like me to talk you through it?" he says, forcing the frozen crate to shift back to the wall with a spell and summoning another box forward.
"Could you talk me through it?" Ava asks, "I watched you closely, but you are almost scary fast with the wand."
"I have Sebastian to thank for that," Ominis replies, trying to hide a smile blooming on his lips, "If you think he's much too eager to duel everyone these days, you should have met him a few years back - he was a true menace and didn't have even a fraction of a restraint he does now. So I got a lot of practice out of interactions with him."
"Are you saying this version of Sebastian has self-restraint?" Ava chuckles.
"Oh yes - during our second year, a day wouldn't go by without Sebastian trying to pick a fight with someone," Ominis laughs, memories making warmth rise in his chest, "One time, he even tried to get Professor Black to duel him - which ended as well as you'd expect."
"I can't even imagine," Ava says, amused, "Maybe it's for the best I only started school this year - I did not have a lot of patience when I was younger."
"Who knows," Ominis smiles, "Maybe if you were here, he'd get out of that phase faster. I'll have you know, he'd become a little more humble ever since you beat him during that first Defense Against the Dark Arts class."
"That was quite the day," Ava chuckles, "And it feels so long ago - even though it's been less than two months."
"I always felt like time runs differently at Hogwarts," Ominis agrees easily, "Part of the magic of this place, I suppose. Well, back to Glacius before we get completely off track. When I cast Glacius, I always picture a peak, followed by another, underscored by a soft line - like this." With that, Ominis traces the movement with the tip of his wand, "But I'm not sure if that image is helpful to you."
"It is quite helpful," Ava replies, "I'll give it a try."
Ominis nods and steps to the side, letting Ava stand in the center of the room. She takes a deep, steady breath, then lifts her wand.
"Glacius," her voice rings through the air, followed by a gust of freezing cold wind. Ominis listens for the sound of ice forming but hears nothing - a moment later, the wind dissipates.
"Hmm," Ava sounds displeased, "That doesn't seem right - it appears I made a mistake."
"What happened?" Ominis asks.
"When I cast the spell, a gust of cold air came," Ava explains, "But it wasn't nearly strong enough to freeze anything - and, as you've probably noticed, it disappeared almost instantly."
"Cold air is a sign that you are on the right track," Ominis notes, crossing his arms in front of him, "There must have been a small mistake in the wand motion - you should try again."
So Ava does as he says - one more Glacius rings through the air, and then another.
"Still the same," she sighs, frustrated, "And I have no idea what I'm doing wrong."
Ominis shifts from foot to foot, feeling his heart tighten with guilt. If he could see, he could correct her, but he cannot - so they are left to guess. He knows the feeling welling in his chest is irrational, yet he cannot help it. Suddenly, an idea comes to his mind.
"I couldโฆI could show you," he starts, unsure, "How to do the movement properly."
"But you already did," Ava replies, "More times than most people would, too. It's my fault that I can't follow the instructions, and it is my responsibility to figure out and correct my mistake."
"There is no "fault" - you are learning," Ominis says firmly, "And I'd be doing a pretty terrible job teaching you the spell if I didn't try and help you work through whatever confusion you may have."
"You have the patience of a saint," Ava laughs, leaving Ominis to wonder just what kind of teachers she's had before if showing her the spell a couple of times earned such a response.
"What I meant is that I couldโฆhold onto your hand as you perform the spell," Ominis suggests, "That way, I could feel what part of the motion is incorrect."
Ava's quiet for a long moment, and suddenly, Ominis's mouth feels dry. The idea seemed quite reasonable in his head, but he could not deny that vocalizing it made it sound a little awkward.
"That's brilliant," Ava says suddenly, "Yes, let's do that."
It takes a moment for Ominis to realize that she has accepted his idea. Nodding, he puts away his wand and steps toward Ava. Belatedly, he starts to wonder if, perhaps, he's standing too close as he feels the warmth of her arm brushing against his and smells the light sweetness of her perfume. It's utterly distracting, but Ominis knows it would be quite odd to step away now, so instead, he forces himself to focus on the task.
"Very well," he says, stretching out his arm, "Lift your wand."
As Ominis reaches forward, his hand finds Ava's outstretched wrist. Her skin feels so soft under his touch as he traces lightly over the back of her palm and grasps her hand. Her hand is small against his and cold - and yet, for some confusing reason, as soon as he holds it, the Undercroft feels so much warmer than it did just moments ago.
"Alright," Ominis clears his throat, "Make the same motion as when you cast Glacius before."
Ominis lets Ava's hand guide him through the movements. She starts slowly, drawing a line upward, followed by a drop and another peak. Ominis tries focusing on the motion but is utterly distracted by how soft her skin feels against his.
He's not too fond of touching others - in his family's household, a touch was almost always accompanied by pain, so Ominis started almost instinctively avoiding it at quite a young age. The only people he'd touched before were the ones he fully trusted, like Sebastian and Anne, and even then, he felt a little anxious doing it. And yet, somehow, grasping Ava's hand doesn't feel unpleasant - far from it. Unbidden, warmth rises in Ominis's chest, spilling through his veins.
With a swift motion, Ava traces a flat line across, finishing the spell.
"So," she says expectantly, "What am I doing wrong?"
Bright blush blooms on Ominis's cheeks, and his heart stutters, startled, in his chest. He's been too distracted by the feeling of her hand in his to fully pay attention to the actual motions of the wand - but he'd much rather die than admit to that.
"IโฆI think the issue is with your transition from the peak to the lower line," he says as calmly as he can, hoping and praying his voice doesn't betray him, "But I need to be certain - can you perform the spell again?"
"Of course," Ava readily agrees.
Ominis struggles to stay focused on her wand movement and ignore the sweetness of her perfume and how she feels so delightfully warm against him.
"Yes," he says once Ava finishes with the spell, "That's exactly the issue - the lower motion of the wand needs to be decisive yet soft, and you are cutting through the air way too harshly."
"I see," Ava replies, pensive, "Iโฆdon't know if I can make it any softer. Could you maybe guide my hand through how you'd do it? I think that would make it easier for me to understand."
And so he does. Holding Ava's hand in his, Ominis slowly traces the symbol for Glacius - a peak, followed by another, then a drop - and a swift yet soft line across.
"I understand my mistake now," Ava says as soon as the spell is done, "The movement across needed to be smoother."
"That's exactly right," Ominis nods, "Ready to try on your own now?"
His fingers linger on her hand a moment longer than they should before Ominis finally lets go and takes a step back, giving Ava space. He hears her shift her stance and raise her wand again.
"Glacius."
Instantly, he feels a gust of cold wind as a myriad of tiny ice crystals ring through the air, followed by the unmistakable crackling sound of ice forming over the wooden crate.
"It worked," Ava says, and Ominis can almost hear the smile in her voice, "And all thanks to you - you're a remarkable teacher."
Warmth rises in Ominis's cheeks at her words as he tries to conceal a smile blooming on his lips - he isn't used to being praised, and Ava's never struck him as someone generous with compliments.
"It's nothing," he says, "I'm just fortunate to have such a good student."
"I mean it," Ava insists, "Without you, I'd be here till midnight, desperately trying to figure out my mistake."
"That would still be less time than Sebastian and I needed to figure out the intricacies of this spell," Ominis chuckles, "I think it took us at least a couple of days."
"Yes, but you were much younger," Ava counters, then adds, "I'd like to practice Glacuis a little more if you don't mind."
"Of course," Ominis readily agrees.
Twice more Glacuis rings through the air, followed by the gust of freezing cold wind and the ringing of ice crystals. Ominis nods, satisfied - it seems Ava finally has a grasp on this spell. A third Glacius follows, and suddenly, there's an unfamiliar hissing sound.
"Ah," Ava winces.
Suddenly, Ominis feels her shoulder blades hit against his chest - the mishappen spell must have pushed her back - and instinctively raises his hands to her shoulders to steady her.
"Are you alright?" he asks, concerned, his hands still resting on her shoulders.
"Yes - my hand slipped, and I didn't finish the movement correctly. So sorry about that," Ava offers apologetically before drawing a sharp breath through her teeth, "Ugh, I hope I didn't freeze off all my fingers."
"Let me check," Ominis says, reaching for her hand.
He may not be able to see, but he can tell frostbite by the feel of it - when he and Sebastian first tried Glacius, his dear friend had more than his fair share of accidents. He gently holds Ava's hand, slowly touching her fingers - her skin is cold against his, but it still feels soft.
"I don't think you have frostbite," he hums.
"Well, that's a relief," Ava replies lightly.
Neither of them moves - and suddenly, Ominis is acutely aware of just how close they stand. Her shoulder blades no longer press against his chest, but his left hand still rests firmly on her shoulder, and he's holding her right hand in his. The sweet smell of her perfume and warmth overwhelms his senses as a pleasant yet unfamiliar feeling uncoils in his chest, sending his heart racing.
"You should bend your fingers," his mouth feels dry when he speaks, "Just to ensure it's not frostbite."
They both remain still as if waiting for something. Before he knows what he's doing, Omini tightens his hold on Ava's hand ever so slightly and feels her skin turn warm under his touch.
"Thank you," Ava murmurs, brushing her thumb against his palm softly, making Ominis's breath hitch in his throat. Comfortable warmth blooms in his chest, and Ominis hopes the moment doesn't end.
Their little reverie is shattered by the sound of the Undercroft door opening, bringing them back to reality. Instantly, Ominis lets go of Ava's shoulder and releases his hold on her hand - the last thing he wants is to create any misunderstanding. He would never do that to Sebastian - or Ava. Still, as he steps aside, his heart flutters staccato, and blood rushes in his ears.
"Would you look at that," Sebastian drawls, "A gathering at the Undercroft without me? I'm really starting to feel left out now."
"Sebastian," Ominis says, "I thought you went to the dorms to read Slytherin's notebook."
"I did," Sebastian replies, "But then Nott and Avery decided to cut class, and I could not focus because of their incessant chatter, so I figured I'd head over here."
"You made the right decision," Ominis muses, "It's best they don't see you with this notebook."
"Exactly my thoughts - and, besides, I feel like I always get through the reading faster here," Sebastian says, then adds, "Don't mind me - no need to stop whatever you were doing on my account."
"Ominis taught me Glacius," Ava explains, "But, given how my last attempt went, I think I'll hold off on trying it around anyone else for a bit - I would loathe turning one of you into an icicle."
"Despite your last attempt, you seem to have a decent grasp on the spell," Ominis notes.
"Even so," Ava replies, "I hadn't realized that it's already almost six - I still have to finish the forty inches of parchment on the lunar phases for the Astronomy class tonight. Thank you for the lesson, Ominis, I will see you later. Goodbye, Sebastian."
With that, Ava leaves the Undercroft. Ominis thinks her exit rather hasty - before Sebastian came in, she seemed in no hurry to leave. Guilt wells in his heart - was it something he did? Perhaps, Sebastian saw them when he walked into the Undercroft, and that upset Avaโฆ
"Glacius, huh?" Sebastian says, distracting Ominis from his thoughts, "A good choice, although I think Diffindo would have been a more obvious one after Confringo."
"Perhaps you could show it to her then," Ominis responds calmly, "Since you are the one who taught her Confringo."
He has enjoyed teaching Ava, but if his suspicions are correct and perhaps, Ava's feelings for Sebastian are not unrequited, he'd hate to stand between them.
"Perhaps I will," Sebastian replies, returning to his reading.

ok first i have to come in by saying tnno is one of the best things i've ever read. anyways this is a super super indulgent request so feel free to ignore but would you happen to have anything else in your wonder twins activate doc that you wouldn't mind sharing ๐
hi anon, sorry for taking a few weeks to get to this! i don't have a lot more shareable content in the wonder twins gdoc, but could i interest you in some wonder twins backstory? and i'll put a little snippet from a scene after that โค
kev is a middle child (older brother, younger sister, all pretty close in age); he is from small-town alberta and played his junior hockey in saskatoon. he was drafted high in the second round. of the pair, he is both the more fastidious and the more chaotic one. he has a tendency to care more about other people than about himself.
tanner is from the ottawa suburbs and he played his junior hockey with the 67s. he has one older sister who is several years older than him; she also lives in toronto now, for work, so they get to hang out sometimes, which is nice. he was a fifth-round draft pick who had a big breakout season in his draft+1 year. of the pair, he's messier but a better cook, and quieter and more introspective in comparison. he's slow to anger but if provoked (say, if someone takes a headshot at his bestie) can occasionally go apeshit.
they met when they were on the canadian world juniors team together (tanner did not attend the draft) and just clicked immediately. their world juniors team does not correlate to a real world juniors team because i'm too lazy for that, but they won silver in a heartbreaker, and promised each other they'd both be on the leafs the following season so they could play together again. kev had been having kind of a slump of a season but was :) somehow inspired :) to step it up and had a great run in the second half. both their teams went to the memorial cup, where neither won the tournament but tanner's team beat kev's, so he has bragging rights, but he doesn't use them too often.
-------------
โYouโre still up,โ Kev says, sounding surprised even though heโs the one who called. โItโs like three in the morning there.โ
โYeah, the guys are all passed out, but I couldnโt sleep.โ Feeling his way through the dark cabin, Tanner finds the den, then follows the wall until he hits the side of the sofa. He flops onto it, letting his feet dangle over the arm. โIโve been really restless lately. Thinking about the season starting and stuff.โ
โYouโre restless?โ Kevin laughs. โAt least you got rookie camp! Iโve been wasting away alone in bumfuck nowhere Alberta since May.โ
This is not strictly true. In June, Kev went on vacation in Miami with some buddies from junior, and heโs regularly made the 90-minute drive to Edmonton to see a PT specialist there. Heโs been on several trips to Banff to go hiking and get drunk on Lake Minnewanka. Also, Kevin loves bumfuck nowhere Alberta. He owns more Carhartt than anyone else Tanner knows.ย
โOkay but, speaking of, how is the shoulder?โ asks Tanner.
โSo much better,โ Kevin says, and launches into an explanation of the training and therapy heโs been doing. Heโs very upbeat about it all, detailing everything his doctors have said, his timelines and prognoses, and some excruciating specifics about the ligaments in his shoulder. They thought at first he might need surgery, but he decided to try rehabilitation; Tanner fielded a lot of early-summer facetime calls to talk through his concerns that it wouldnโt work and the team would be pissed he wasn't ready for the season. But heโs feeling good โ heโs started doing some light stickwork, and heโs confident heโll be ready to go come training camp.
โYou better be,โ Tanner says. โRookie camp sucked without you.โ
โI donโt know why you even had to go. Everyone knows youโve got a roster spot already. Well, I guess itโs good for the kids to have a grizzled vet around to teach them how to be.โ Kevin sounds so genuinely thoughtful as he works through this that it makes Tanner grin up at the ceiling.ย
โMost of those guys are older than me, idiot,โ he says. โExcept like, the brand new ones. And I do have to earn my spot, you know.โ
โNo, you donโt. Your spotโs on my line.โ
โOh, youโve already decided that?โ
โYes,โ Kev says. โIโve had a lot of downtime this summer. I decided on the whole roster.โ
โYou know McDavidโs not coming out of retirement to center you, right?โ
Kevin huffs. โObviously not. Stromer is centering us.โ
Tanner is struck by the urge to ask if Kevin has seen the picture Dylan posted from France. Except Tanner was just looking at the comment he left on it, so itโs a stupid question. He shoves it aside and says, โSounds good so far. Tell me the rest.โ
#ask#my fic#tnno#another fun fact about them is that i did not plan for them to have a major role in the fic at first#they just bullied their way in ๐

//SW Orion!!//
Shahar held potential, raw magic just like Orion did. He came from a long line of powerful bloodlines. The Changelings will take what they could get.
She'd given them twins this time, taken a few weeks ago. Shahar swallowed the dread, the hope.
Soon the sprays would come, drugging her mind. Dragging her into an animalistic frenzy. At least they thought her too precious to waste with the other general breeding pairs. Was it good or bad she looked forward to these moments?
That she hated what happened to them? But as least she got to hold him and feel him inside her energy couple months?
Would it be better if he got to stay? Would they allow such a thing? She jerked from where she sat as the door unlocked and she saw him.
Her mouth going dry.
By the force, he looked gorgeous.
//HEHE//
It was only in this moments, so few and far between, that he got to see her. Oh he knew she was alive; he'd heard enough whispers, comments, when they thought he was too out of it to listen.
There had been so many times he'd cursed his blood for what it had led to, but he supposed he was also thankful for it now. That position, the power that flooded his veins-- They wouldn't waste it away by killing him.
The same could be said for her. Which, he supposed, was another reason he was thankful.
He found so little to be thankful for these days.
He didn't have free access to his power; enough dampeners, bonds, marks, kept him from doing anything that might be deemed a threat to those in power. Same with her, it seemed, because every time he saw her, every time they were like this, she was out of it.
Not as she was, all those months ago... years...
How long had it truly been, that night before the battle? He couldn't even remember...
Of course, it didn't matter if he couldn't access it; the power still existed, and it would still meet with Shahar's. The bloodlines would still grow stronger and stronger with every union--
It would never stop, and they'd never fall, he'd realized after the... was it the fifth time? The sixth?
Those in power remained in power for this very reason...
And there was no stopping it.
Even as he went further into the room, as he knelt before her, he knew that much was true.

Part 2
So we'd moved to an apartment in Cap Hill intending to stay there a few months so as not to lose the deposit when Linzy moved out.
Just.
Until the lease ran out.
But then it was such a perfect location for the airport, for Pub70 on the waterfront, for walks along the west shore of Lake Union, for walks along Myrtle Edwards Park from the Expedia Group building to...
Pub70.
For neighborhood walks to St. Marks and back, for Top Pot Donuts, Cafe Barjot and their lemon crepes, for Tapster and that food truck that used to be out front serving the mouth watering delicious and authentic Mexican food. For the movie theaters downtown only one light rail stop away. And for shaving at least an hour off our commute to work times .
That's one way, folks.
We lived there four years, one month, and a bit of a week. Definitely well more than the few months we intended.
Of course...
Of course we didn't live in our apartment for four years, one month, and a bit of a week. We lived in the apartment for one year and eight months. We lived there for one year and seven months when, one day, Kimmer wondered what was available on the upper floors. So she asks the building maintenance guys who are usually around and they show her three units, if I'm remembering right. Two on the fifth floor, one on the sixth. Or maybe it's the other way around: one on the fifth, two on the sixth.
Or maybe it was just one available unit on each floor.
Whichever it is, I'm at work while this is happening. On my way home, though, is when I get the call filling me in on the possibilities and wondering when exactly I'm gonna be home 'cause we're about to go looking at apartments. Which we did, by the way.
Just as soon as I got home.
Now, even though this was a thoroughly abrupt plot twist, the call was an incredibly easy one to make once we were shown the corner unit on the fifth floor with the additional set of windows. Plus...
They'd give us the month to move in. We wouldn't have to pay for the month... and we'd have access to move our belongings from the apartment in which we were living at the time to this new one. Basically, for this one month we had two apartments.
One more time:
Basically.
For this one month.
We had two apartments.
The month we were given made the move a piece of cake as we took the entire month to move bit by bit. Linzy's birthday was that month and we held a pop-over breakfast party there for she and a few of her friends. And then for Thanksgiving...
We had two ovens.
Only time that's ever happened.
That second oven does comes in super handy I'll tell you that.
So.
After a year and eight months we were still living in the same building... just in a different apartment a few floors up.
Which is where we've been to this day.

Name: Patricia Ann Boden FaceClaim: Zendaya Birthday: July 21 Nicknames: Tricia, Trish Parents: Wallace Boden; Donna Boden Siblings: Terrence Boden
Patricia was very much a surprise. In fact, Donna really didn't know she was pregnant until she went to the hospital for severe abdominal pain and they told her she was in labor. She vividly remembers laughing in the doctor's face, telling him it was literally impossible; she was told after she had Terrence she could never get pregnant again. It was only when the urge to push happened, and she beared down, that she realized the doctor was right. Not even five minutes later and Tricia was making her very unannounced and unexpected entrance into the world.
After some testing was done, the doctors came to the conclusion that Tricia was 36 weeks and healthy. They did keep her in the NICU for observation for a few days, but less than a week after arriving, Tricia was able to go home with her very shocked - though pleasantly surprised - parents. While Donna rested at home with the baby, Wallace took the then 6-year-old Terrence shopping for essentials. Considering they'd not expected to have a baby, they needed pretty much everything.
Given how she came into this world and how her parents were unsuspecting, she was possibly spoiled a little more than she should have been, which would prove to be a mistake as she grew older.
Elementary school was quite interesting for Tricia. She was a fast learner, but she also a big talker. Every year, her teachers would bring it up at conferences, and every year nothing would change. Donna and Wallace would try everything, including punishments and bribes, but Tricia would just laugh them off and the talking continued. It would only stop when her teachers began separating her from her other classmates and she got tired of the isolation and began to be respectful during class.
Middle school wasn't much better than elementary school. In fact, it got worse because Tricia had to deal with those pesky body changes, while also attempting to maintain the popularity status she had enjoyed during grade school - a much harder feat given there were more kids in junior high than there had been in fifth grade.
Seventh grade was when Tricia slowly started learning what her hobbies and activities were. She began participating in various extracurricular activities, eventually coming to love cheerleading, track, and drama; activities that continued throughout high school.
High school was a real test for Tricia. While she'd definitely gained popularity in middle school, that began to dwindle when people realized her mom was also one of the chemistry teachers. Nothing made a student's reputation drop more than having a teacher as a parent. Suddenly Tricia was viewed as a goody-two shoes, a reputation she had no interest in preserving. So while she didn't do anything that would ruin her chances of being on her sports teams, she stopped putting as much effort in to her school work. And, much to her parents' chagrin and disbelief, she began to talk back to teachers - especially Donna - to prove to her friends that she was tough and cool.
Now, she is a senior and is facing the prospect of what life has to offer after school. While her grades are far from perfect, she thinks they might be enough to at least get her into a community college, where she is thinking about taking the necessary classes to become a paramedic, something she hopes will make her parents proud.

Severus groaned and tilted his head back. "It fucking itches, Lily!" he snapped. There wasn't malice there, just annoyance. He usually didn't get hit by anything, nor did he ever get snuck up on. He supposed Lily was, as usual, his weakness and his mind had been whirring to keep track of her and keep her safe so much that he'd lost his edge. That would certainly not happen again. He couldn't afford to lose focus where she was concerned.
"Aguamenti," he muttered whilst holding his wand over his body. The water trickled down over his skin, and he let out a hiss of a soothed sigh. The only thing he could really do was let the spells wear off, but this would at least provide him some momentary relief.
"Come on," he muttered, pushing himself up. He pulled his shirt back over his body and draped his coat over his arm. "Let's get out of here before they come and find the body.
//
They walked back into Headquarters and he was desperate for a shower. The jinxes had pretty much wore off by this point, but his skin was still blotchy and irritated. He glanced at her before he started up the stairs. "Good work today. Thanks for having my back," he said. He opened his mouth to say something else, but the door opened and in came the others from their missions. His eyes followed James as he practically made a beeline for Lily and made a grand show of displaying exactly whose she was. At least in a romantic sense. Severus grimaced at the sight and went on his way up the stairs before anyone could question why it was he and Lily were so much as looking at one another. Dumbledore didn't need to find out Severus had broken his own request and took her out. It was different if he was there with her.
Severus was eventually stood under the warm water of the shower, letting it run over his face and down his body. His eyes were closed and his breathing was even. His muscles ached, his body ached, his brain ached, his heart ached. As much as Lily was being civil with him, it wasn't like things were back to normal. And in a couple of months, he'd be carted off to Hogwarts and any progress they'd made in the last almost year would likely disappear. If she wasn't forced around him, he doubted she'd be as... diplomatic as she had been lately. There was still the elephant in the room regarding their big blowup in fifth year and all the things that had happened since. She still didn't know the real reason why he was there, and she never would, as long as he had a say.
Anger flooded him and he wished he hadn't made all the shit decisions he had in his life so far. There was no use crying over spilled milk now, but it didn't stop his inner rage. If he hadn't acted like a complete and utter pillock, perhaps he and Lily could have been something. Perhaps he would have been on the right side from the beginning. Perhaps...
He sighed and opened his eyes dejectedly. Perhaps indeed.
There were a lot of things that went through Lily's mind, starting from when they were first caught by the extra Snatcher. She had only seen three go in in the first place too, so to say she was shocked someone had gotten the drop on them was an understatement.
Severus' reflexes were even faster than she remembered from when they were young, sharp and honed from no doubt years of needing to survive. Though they'd had a short span of glory days the Death Eaters had all but went into hiding when it came to the public eye. They had to watch their backs.
That didn't stop her from rolling to her feet as well, grabbing out her wand and getting into a fighting position. She wouldn't say she was glad there was a chance to do some spell casting, but after so long of absolutely no action it would be a lie to say it didn't get her blood pumping just a bit.
She did glance to Severus with slightly narrowed eyes, her mind spinning to keep up with everything she was learning. She would make him answer her questions soon enough, but right now they were each going to have to watch the other's back.
The Snatcher at least hadn't called for his brothers in the house - idiot - but she wasn't letting her guard down again. Out here in the open anything could happen, and she had to be ready. Prove that she could be out here even if James and Dumbledore never knew about it.
It would probably be better for her if they never knew about it. Even just the one was quick, though she supposed he had to be, and despite the practice she knew both her and the man beside her were flagging a bit.
'Do you trust me?' Now wasn't that the question for the ages, especially after learning he was sent over to basically assassinate her! But even though she was afraid, there was only one answer that could come from her gut and she had learned she had to trust that over the years. "Yes."
When the man was dead her heart was pounding in her ears, and she sunk down to the ground beside Severus. The crackling of magic still tingled across her skin, though she swatted his hand away from his shoulders before he could do much scratching. "You're going to hurt yourself worse, stop that!"
