sevika workout hcs
there is literally nothing hotter in the world than watching sevika do pull ups and pushups. the muscles flexing, the sweat rolling down her neck. "Vika, you need to go do that somewhere else. I can't do my sets with you looking like that in front of me". "I--"
you tell her you want to increase the weights for your bench press and she gets all adorably concerned. you'd be offended if it came from anyone other than sevika. "babe, are you sure? eighty pounds is a lot..."
she spots you and adjusts your form, gently but firmly, because she doesn't want you to get hurt. she's not much for words of encouragement but she'll fix your posture, move your elbow, straighten your neck. you catch her watching you with the proudest look on her face when you hit a new record.
she holds down your feet as you do sit ups and kisses you on the mouth every time you come up to encourage you to do more reps (it works. your abs are dying but your lips are happy)
makes you sit on her lap on leg day to see how many hip thrust reps she can do before she caves (this is how you find out she is ticklish)
showering together after workouts obviously
good luck getting anything done on the days she hits legs honestly. if she's doing barbell squats you will spend the whole time pretending not to stare at her ass
she cannot last fifteen minutes on the treadmill because it bores the hell out of her. this baffles you because your favorite cardio is just running to aggressive music for half an hour.
sparring together in a judo class and she always lets you win because she likes it when you pin her to the ground
she checks you out shamelessly. and godspeed to the hapless soul at the gym who also happens to check you out because she's by your side in half a second, glaring daggers. ty @theyluvbix for this idea :)

Am I excited for this? YES! How excited? VERY!!!
Gah, I've been really looking forward to this one! Love me some 40s and The Clock! đ (One of the reasons why I can't wait for Vought rising lol đ)
Love how the first line of this story is an easter egg. You never cease to amaze me, Alex đ€
Law Offices of Winchester, Bialystock & Bloom
*furrows brow* The Producers?? đ€
Dean couldnât help but curl a finger around a steel ball on the abacus sitting at the head of the mahogany desk, right next to Samâs nameplate. He let it fly. The abacus began to clack as one ball hit the other. Sam looked up from the deposition he was writing to give his brother a wry brow raise.
Oh yes, we all remember that episode. Of course he would đ Poor Sam lol
If he was honest, entertaining young ladies was eating into the wallet in his trouser pocket, and the hustle and bustle was starting to be a little much for him.
Uh-huh... Dear Lord he needs help đ
Btw, I've been doing my own 40s research for a fic and came across the contraception question. Idk why but condoms and methods of that time freak me tf out. Wondering what your experience with that was (if you came across it) lmao đ
Both of them had enlisted, but Sam had spent most of his time in London while he was deployed, helping British Intelligence. Dean had clawed his way out of Normandy, and later, out of the Ardennesâthe last offensive before the end.
Ooof so rough đźâđš PTSD and seeing all the dirty shit that goes on during a war is really brutal đą (My grandpa was in WWII and told a lot of stories when he was still alive)
And then they were seperated too and didn't even know what happened to the other. Heartbreaking đ
âItâs still two minutes until closing. At least, according to my watch.â
The sass! Already love her đđ©”
He subtly glanced down at your crĂšme-colored blouse, neatly tucked into the long, burgundy skirt (with lipstick to match), your modest, classy heels, and the way you wore your hair.
*vibes* đ (even though I know MMM is set in 1958 lol)
He stood from the desk and switched his cigarette to his other hand, so he could shake yours.
You don't know how fucking weak it makes me that he smokes in this. That vice will be the death of me đ« đ„
Dean glanced his way, his brow raising once again. Sam knew what he was thinking, just as he saw how you frowned as well. But there was a reason why he asked, and it wasnât to be unkind.
Aww yeah, Sam's just doing his job. Not easy having a vagina in 1945 and dealing with dicks... đ
You had been slowly deflating the more he spoke, but now your expression became stony.
I get abusive vibes from shitty husband. There's more to it than cheating. Either he's emotionally abusive, physically or threathening to be. She seems like she wants to leave quick and quiet, fearing retaliation đ
I loved how "damn" counted as cursing đ (Darn it!)
He was getting an idea of what kind of man your husband was, but Dean couldnât be too sure of what the man was capable of. Heâd hate to hear of a girl like you getting hurt over a few papers.
Yes, thank you!!! I knew Dean's spidey senses would turn on. (And I know that darn rat bastard can't hurt her now as long as soldier!Dean's around đ)
âI was a sergeant, maâam.â
Melted đ« (I legit die every time I write "Sergeant Shaw" in TCF, but I married a military guy myself, so makes sense I can't resist a uniform and a rank đđ„”)
âHe claims to be working late virtually every night of the weekdays,â you said, âbut he usually comes home stinking of alcohol.â Your eyes dimmed, even with the pretty lights shining in them. âHe was in the Army as well. A corporal. Heâs had a hard time adjusting to being back home, and I know that⊠He doesnât sleep very well. And do you know, he had a hard time finding work for a while too. Luckily, he has his fatherâs business to fall back on.â
I love the 1940s cadence, by the way! You can tell it's a different time period the way the characters speak, the words they choose, and how they phrase things. So well done, my friend! đđ
âHe manages a meat production plant, of all things,â you said. âAh, located in the Meat Packing District, I presume?â
Mama's smelling mob activity... đ€
âHmm. Guess I didnât see the point,â he replied with a mild shrug. It hid a deeper, darker well inside him. The part of him that hadnât thought heâd make it back home after the war.
Such a Dean statement lol
I do hope he won't feel so hopeless for long ïżœïżœïž
âI was a nurse,â you said eventually, earning his attention. âI was there when they liberated Paris.â Dean turned to you with newfound interest lighting his green eyes. âYou were at Normandy.â You nodded. âFor a while. Almost a year before D-Day.â
Aww, they could've almost met. I love these little coincidences when people meet each other. It's fate đđ
âBecause the fact of the matter is, Sergeant, words donât move me anymore.â You picked up your gaze from the ground, and you met his. âFlattery is just a pretty way of lying, and Iâve grown to really, truly hate lying.â
I feel so bad for her. I hope Sam (and Dean) can help her soon and she can find happiness again đąâ€ïžâđ©č
âHmm. No real loss there then.â Your teeth clenched. âIf I thought you were actually going to be home when you said you would, maybe I would make a rump roast with all the fixings.âÂ
The fucking nerve of that man... đ€Ź
Michael huffed, shaking his head. âSometimes you got a real mouth on you. One of these days, you just might regret it.â
I'm too busy plotting a gruesome murder in my head to properly get into how much I despise that guy đđ
This was such an amazing start to this series! The storyline is so intriguing and the world-building is, well... simply otherworldly. You really took me on a journey to the 1940s here. Speechless, honestly đ©”
I so can't wait to see what else you have in store with this, but I think there will be lots of yelling from me lol đ

Part 1: Legal Grounds
November 2, 1945
Dean idly read the pamphlet stacked with others on his brotherâs desk, which advertised his new and successful enterprise.
Law Offices of Winchester, Bialystock & Bloom
What do you know? His brother had his own office, his own business, and his name on a pamphlet.
Dean couldnât help but curl a finger around a steel ball on the abacus sitting at the head of the mahogany desk, right next to Samâs nameplate.
He let it fly. The abacus began to clack as one ball hit the other.
Sam looked up from the deposition he was writing to give his brother a wry brow raise.
âSo this is what you do, huh?â Dean remarked, crossing his arms.
Without his jacket, his suspenders were on display over his shoulders. His red pinstripe tie was still in place, but his white dress shirt was rolled up to the elbows. Meanwhile, his brother preferred to keep himself more presentable with his sleeves down to his wrists. Jacket on. Â Â Â
Dean glanced around the office, nodding at the line of bookshelves behind Sam, framing him as the bookish academic heâd always been. There was limited seating in here though, just a spare chair in front of the desk, and another to the right of it. Dean stood on the opposite side.
âIf youâre bored, all you have to do is say so,â Sam said. âWhich is strange, considering weâre smack dab in the middle of a city that never sleeps.â
He was right, Dean could concede. His little brother had given him a veritable list of things to do in New York City: visit the park, go to the zoo, see a picture show, visit a nightclub, or sample a host of restaurants that Sam knew Dean would probably enjoy.
Heâd seen a lot of this place in the week that heâd been here visiting Sam, but a good deal of it heâd either spent alone, or with any willing young lady Dean came across, thanks to the demands of this office. If he was honest, entertaining young ladies was eating into the wallet in his trouser pocket, and the hustle and bustle was starting to be a little much for him.
âYou donât get tired of it?â Dean asked, gesturing to the out there beyond them. âThe, uhâŠthe lights, the noise, all the people?â
Sam picked his head up from his paperwork to consider the question. âNo, I like it. Keeps my mind busy, andâŠI guess it makes me feel alive, you know?â
Dean supposed he could understand that, so he nodded.
Sam wasnât fooled though. He thought he could tell what was running through his brotherâs head, watching him fidget, and turn his head a bit sharply when a bus honked loudly outside the officeâs glass doors as it thundered past.
It had only been two months since the end of the war. Two months since he and Dean met back in their family home in Lawrence, Kansas after three years fighting on two different fronts, in two different countries.
Both of them had enlisted, but Sam had spent most of his time in London while he was deployed, helping British Intelligence. Dean had clawed his way out of Normandy, and later, out of the Ardennesâthe last offensive before the end.
Their experiences might as well have been worlds apart, but one thing remained the same: it had been three years in which neither brother knew if theyâd see each other again.
Now, Sam saw the signs. Dean seemed a bit jumpy, overstimulated, but willing to be here to spend a little more time with Sam before he went back home. Guilt prickled in Samâs gut.Â
âIâve got some work here to finish up, but afterwards letâs go to dinner,â he suggested. âMaybe see a show?â
Deanâs lips flickered at a smile. âYouâre burning both ends of the candle. You know that, right?â
Sam opened his mouth to reply, when there was a knock on one of the glass doorsâat the entrance to the small building. Their heads turned, and through the open door of his office, they spotted you standing there in the evening light. You wore a wide-brimmed hat on your head and a scarf underneath, wrapped over your hair and under your chin to shield your face. You knocked again with a hand covered by a leather glove, more persistently.
Cocking his head in confusion, Sam stood from his desk and left the room to let you in. Dean hung back and sat on the corner of the desk to wait. He withdrew a cigarette from the pack and a lighter from his pocket as he did so, but he heard you talking with his brother by the door.
âIâm sorry. Weâre closed, miss,â Sam informed you.
âItâs still two minutes until closing. At least, according to my watch.â
ââŠWell, I suppose youâve got me there.â
âSo can I come in? I need to speak to a lawyer.â
âYou sure it canât wait until tomorrow?â
âIâm afraid it canât, sir.â Your tone was firm, and it more than implied that you wouldnât be moved. Sam paused then, perhaps to take a steeling breath.
âAll right. Come with me, please.â
You later followed behind him through the hallway and into the office. With a lit cigarette between his fingers, his arms crossed, Dean took note of you. He subtly glanced down at your crĂšme-colored blouse, neatly tucked into the long, burgundy skirt (with lipstick to match), your modest, classy heels, and the way you wore your hair. His brows subtly raised. Heâd met quite a few girls this week, but he hadnât seen a lady like you in quite some time.
Shouldâve shaved this morning. The thought was accompanied by the way he swiped a subtle hand over his prickly chin.
You gave him a cursory glance in turn, and offered a polite, âHello.â
He stood from the desk and switched his cigarette to his other hand, so he could shake yours.
âHey there. Dean Winchester,â he said. He offered a smile with no small amount of charm. âPleased to meet youâŠâ
You dutifully gave him your first name only. He found that a little strange, but you soon slipped your hand out of his and focused on the nameplate on the desk, followed by Sam himself.
âSo youâre brothers,â you realized. âDo you work together?â
Dean scoffed. âNope, Iâm just here to distract him.â
Sam tossed him a sidelong glance. There was a subtle edge of bitter truth in there somewhere, and you didnât seem to miss it. You looked between the two men, a hint wary.
âWell, as I said, Iâm here to speak to the solicitor,â you said.Â
âThat would be me,â Sam nodded. He went to his desk and sat down behind it, gesturing for you to do the same in front of him. You obliged him, smoothing your hands down your skirt once you were seated. âHow can I help you?â
You met his eyes with a directness that surprised him a little.
âI want to divorce my husband,â you said.
To say it shocked the room would be an understatement. Behind you, Dean gave his brother a pair of raised brows. Sam didnât allow himself to react too much in order to remain professional, but he still tilted his head, blinking, before he focused on you again.
âWhatâs your husbandâs name?â he asked.
âMichael. Michael Milligan.â
âWhy do you want a divorce, Mrs. Milligan?âÂ
Here, your gaze fell to the folded hands in your lap.Â
âI have reason to believe heâs been unfaithful,â you quietly replied.
Once again, there was a pregnant pause.
âIâm sorry to hear that,â Sam said. His sympathy was genuine, because he could see the way youâd hesitated to say the words, like they embarrassed you, shamed you, and saddened you all at once.Â
âBut I have to ask,â he added, âdo you have proof?â
Dean glanced his way, his brow raising once again. Sam knew what he was thinking, just as he saw how you frowned as well. But there was a reason why he asked, and it wasnât to be unkind.
You sighed. âWhat kind of proof?âÂ
âPictures. Letters. A witness. Something of legal standing that we can use as leverage and as grounds to grant you a divorce, whether he wants it or not,â Sam said.Â
You let out another heavy breath through your nose. âNo, I donât have anything like that.â
âThen what makes you so sure heâs steppinâ out?â Dean chimed in. By now he was leaning against the wall, off to the side where he could smoke with the window cracked open. It let in the sounds of cars and distant honking, people traversing the sidewalks.Â
You turned in your seat to give him a tight look. âIf you must know, thereâve beenâŠsigns. I wonât trouble you with the details, but Iâm sure.â
You met Deanâs gaze, and then Samâs firmly.Â
âSo will you help me?â you asked him. Sam nodded.
âYes, Iâll look into your husband and try to find some evidence of hisâŠextracurricular affairs.â
Your lips pursed. âAnd how long will it take?â
Since you were being so direct, Sam levelled you with honesty.
âIt may take time,â he said. âRealistically, weâre looking at months, even after I find what we need⊠It would be easier to legally separate.â
You had been slowly deflating the more he spoke, but now your expression became stony.
âMr. Winchester,â you began. âI donât want to just be separated. I donât want to live in our apartment, let alone share his bed or wear his last name.â
Despite your best efforts, your voice began to shake. Tears welled up and stung in your eyes.
âI donât want anything from him, other than his signature on the damn papers,â you said. âThe case is that I can no longer tolerate that man in my sight, much less in my life. Will you help me? Or should I look for another lawyer who will actually do his job.â
Sam and Dean shared a glance. For his part, Dean couldnât remember the last time he heard a woman curse. Despite your outburst, the tears clinging to your lashes stirred both men.
âI understand, Mrs. Milligan,â Sam said. âIâll help you. Donât worry.â
He began to look for his handkerchief, but you retrieved one of your own from your purse and quickly dabbed at your eyes, sniffling. You were embarrassed.
âWhat about your fee?â you said, withdrawing your checkbook. âI, umâŠI have a little money stashed away. Iâve always worked, you see.â
Sam nodded and went over what his rate would be going forward. Once the two of you came to an agreement, you signed the first check right then and there, even though he felt bad for even taking it from you.
You were still sniffling, and twice you dabbed under your eyes to make sure your face was dry. When you handed over the check, your hands shook, just a little. Sam wouldnât tell you that he discounted his usual rate. Â
Again, he mentioned that he would need some time first to investigate your husband and begin collecting evidence for your case. He asked you for any documents you could safely bring him of your finances, for example. You agreed to do an investigation of your own.
âJust be careful,â Dean cautioned. He was getting an idea of what kind of man your husband was, but Dean couldnât be too sure of what the man was capable of. Heâd hate to hear of a girl like you getting hurt over a few papers.
Dean put out the bud of his cigarette on the ashtray lying on the windowsill. He pushed off the wall to approach where you and Sam were getting to your feet. You gave Dean a nod of acknowledgement.
âI will,â you agreed. âThank you both. Iâm sorry Iâve taken up so much of your time, but Iâll be heading home now.â
âDid you take a bus or a taxi?â Sam asked.
âOh, I walked,â you replied, and you checked your watch as you gathered up your purse. You headed for the coatrack, but Dean got there first, helping you into your beige wool coat. It went nicely with the burgundy you had on, namely on your painted lips.
âThank you,â you said to him, but you still didnât smile. You were a hint demurer now. It seemed with Samâs promised help, the fire had dimmed behind your eyes and your tongue.
âHow about I give you an escort, make sure you get home okay?â Dean found himself offering. âItâs getting pretty late on a Friday.â
Sam shot him a knowing look, but Dean ignored him, instead focusing on your face.
You hesitated. âItâs a bit far though. Out of your way, Iâm sure.â
âAll the more reason that you shouldnât go it alone at this time of night,â he argued.
You considered his offer, and him, with a quick perusal. You seemed to be judging for yourself if he was trustworthy. Dean kept his posture straight, yet relaxed. Maybe heâd liked what he saw the moment he took you in, but after hearing your situation, he felt for you. It really was just an honest offer to walk you home.
âWhere did you serve?â you asked. âThe Army, the Navy, or the Air Forces?â
The question took him off guard for a beat, but he answered you.
âThe Army,â he replied.
âYour rank?â
âI was a sergeant, maâam.â
You looked at him a little more shrewdly, then you relaxed.
âI mightâve guessed,â you said. âAll right, Sergeant. Letâs go then.â
You buttoned up your coat and turned to leave the office. Dean shot his little brother a raise of his brows and a what do ya know? kind of smile. He grabbed his dark brown jacket and hat and followed you out.
Samâs smile was more reserved, with a shake of his head. He closed the door behind you and Dean and locked it. He still had some work he wanted to finish before tomorrow, and Deanâs little show of chivalry would give him time to do it.
Dean had his hands in his coat pockets as he walked with you down the long city sidewalk. Night had drawn into the November sky, but with all these lights, he couldnât see many stars. It was also cold as all hell. The frigid wind slapped at him every time they turned the corner of a building, snapping right into his bones.
Still, he supposed there was a kind of attractiveness to the city at night. The stores and their signs were all lit up gold and other neon colors. Couples and families walked together, all done up nice for wherever dinner reservation or movie they were trying to get to. It begged the question of what your husband was doing right now if he didnât notice his wife out at this time of night.
âWhereâs your husband tonight, if I might ask?â said Dean.
You shot him a look, reading between his lines.
âHe claims to be working late virtually every night of the weekdays,â you said, âbut he usually comes home stinking of alcohol.â Your eyes dimmed, even with the pretty lights shining in them. âHe was in the Army as well. A corporal. Heâs had a hard time adjusting to being back home, and I know that⊠He doesnât sleep very well. And do you know, he had a hard time finding work for a while too. Luckily, he has his fatherâs business to fall back on.â
Dean tried not to show how much your words resonated with him. He didnât think it a good thing to have common ground with your husband, if he was the kind of man you said he was.
âYeah? Whatâs his business?â he asked.
âHe manages a meat production plant, of all things,â you said.
âAh, located in the Meat Packing District, I presume?â
âYouâd presume right.â
Dean nodded. âI get it. I inherited the family home back in Lawrence. I just need to figure out whatâs next.â
âLawrence?â
âKansas.â
âOh, the Midwest,â you inclined your head. âWhatâs it like there?â
Dean scoffed. âDusty.â
You almost laughed at that. At least it earned him your first smile of the night.
âDo you have an idea of what youâll do for work?â you asked.
Dean chuckled. âNot just yet. Didnât plan that far, you know?â
âWhy not?â you asked.
âHmm. Guess I didnât see the point,â he replied with a mild shrug. It hid a deeper, darker well inside him. The part of him that hadnât thought heâd make it back home after the war. Â
You turned to him then, and you saw it behind his eyes. The two of you walked in silence for a little while as the neighborhood blocks began to shift and change, becoming somewhat quieter, more residential. Dean put himself between you and the sidewalk when a taxi zoomed by too close to the curb, resting a hand on the small of your back for protection.
Part of you trilled inside at the small touch, but you immediately beat that reaction down. Dean Winchester was an attractive man, to be sure. His hair was a lighter brown than his brotherâs, and shorter too. He had an air of roguishness about him, even though heâd been perfectly pleasant so far.
But by the way he eyed you when you came into the law office, you had a strong feeling he was a flirt. You had no room for that in your life, and not only because you were still a married woman.
Yet, there was something about him thatâŠwell, made you curious.
âI was a nurse,â you said eventually, earning his attention. âI was there when they liberated Paris.â
Dean turned to you with newfound interest lighting his green eyes. âYou were at Normandy.â
You nodded. âFor a while. Almost a year before D-Day.â
Dean let out a short, if humorless chuckle, running a hand through his hair.
âWell, thatâs where I was. At that time, at least,â he said. You gave him a similar look; respect, and perhaps finding a kindred spirit.
âI did what I could do before, during, and afterwards,â you said. âI think thatâs all we can do now, Mr. Winchester.â
âCall me Dean,â he said. âIf you like.â
A second smile almost tugged at your lips. You nodded in agreement.
âDean,â you said.
In another ten minutes, he was walking you up to your porch at your apartment building. You travelled up the four small steps, while Dean stopped at the second one. For the first time, you had the vantage point above him as you turned on your heel to face him. You were about to thank him when he shook his head, scoffing.
âThis guy must be dumb, deaf, and blind, sweetheart,â he said.
Your face warmed in a blush, and you gave a rueful smile when you realized what he meant. He was looking up at you like someone who couldnât understand your plight. You knew the feeling.
âThatâs kind of you, but you donât have to do that,â you said. Â
His brows furrowed. âDo what?âÂ
âTry to make me feel better,â you said, scuffing the toe of your sensible heels against the brick platform. Dean crossed his arms.Â
âWhy not?â he asked.
âBecause the fact of the matter is, Sergeant, words donât move me anymore.â You picked up your gaze from the ground, and you met his. âFlattery is just a pretty way of lying, and Iâve grown to really, truly hate lying.âÂ
It took him a moment, but Dean nodded.
âI guess thatâs fair,â he said. He had to stop himself before he proved your point with a smart word on your pretty smile. Although, it wouldnât have been a lie. He tipped his hat up. âGoodnight then, Mrs. Milligan.âÂ
You stopped him from leaving with just your voice.Â
âPlease,â you said, your eyes briefly closing. âJustâŠcall me by my name. My first name.âÂ
Dean slowly smiled. âPerfect. I like your name better anyway.âÂ
This time, your smile in return was genuine, if tinged with amusement.Â
âGoodnight, Dean,â you replied.
He gave you a charming grin and a more casual soldierâs salute. Then he stuck his hands back in his pockets, turned on his heel, and began to walk back the way he came. You couldnât help but watch him go for a second or two. His legs were slightly bowed under his slacks, you noticed.
With a blush, you shook your head to rid yourself of those silly thoughts. You closed the door.
That night, Michael came home late, as usualâthis time at two in the morning. He reeked of alcohol, also per usual, but this time when he rolled over towards you in bed to say goodnight, you stiffened. He also smelled like a womanâs perfume. Expensive stuff.Â
This was one of those signs you hadnât wanted to tell Sam Winchester. Frankly, it was crude and embarrassing.
âSorry itâs so late, darling. Got held up,â he said, kissing your shoulder through your nightgown. His fingers played with the ends of your hair while you laid facing away from him.
You squeezed your eyes shut. You were fighting every instinct you had inside you that wanted to recoil from his touch and bolt out of the bed. When just a few months ago, his touch was all you craved, almost desperately so.Â
âWhere were you?â you asked. Somehow, you kept your voice steady and calm. âYou werenât at the office all this time.â
âHad a couple of drinks with the guys after,â he said with a shrug. âSorry. The night got away from us, but, uhâŠIâll be home on time for dinner tomorrow.â
With your back turned to him, you were able to roll your eyes.
âWhatâd you make tonight, outta curiosity?â he asked.
âEgg salad sandwiches,â you replied flatly.Â
âHmm. No real loss there then.âÂ
Your teeth clenched. âIf I thought you were actually going to be home when you said you would, maybe I would make a rump roast with all the fixings.âÂ
Michael paused, but then, he grasped your shoulder, slowly turned you around in the bed until you were facing him. His face was sterner.Â
âExcuse me?âÂ
You remained quiet. Your gaze travelled downwards, avoiding his.
Michael huffed, shaking his head. âSometimes you got a real mouth on you. One of these days, you just might regret it.âÂ
He turned his back on you, laying on his side. You did the same while trying to stem your tears.
When did this become your life?
AN:Â Oof, sorry for all that angst at the end there, but I hope you liked the first chapter! Did you enjoy soldier!Dean and soldier/lawyer!Sam? Do you want to find a dark alley for Michael yet? đ
And are you ready for what's coming up next? đ
Next Time:
Dean both could and couldnât believe it. He might not have been a saint himself when it came to the fairer sex, but if he went through the whole ordeal of marrying one, let alone a straight-shooting woman like you, beautiful, cleverâŠ
âGeez,â he muttered. âHe couldâve at least waited until the ink dried on the certificate.âÂ
Sam nodded in agreement. He picked up the receipt to the Cotton Club, and he shot his brother a grin.

LOOPED: MIYA ATSUMU
she's stuck in a loop: texting him late on a friday night, letting him into her bed, clinging to him, silently begging for him to stay, only for him to leave again.
masterlist
tags/warnings: friends with benefits, implied love triangle, angst, hooking up, unhappy ending, kinda softcore smut but no actual smut, hardly proofread, mdni
word count: 2.2k
an: thinking abt starting a gen taglist for works like this since im planning on pivoting away from writing a bunch of series and focusing more on things like this. idk. let me know what you think if you want i can't make you. also do i think this is my best writing? no but writing has been so hard lately im proud of myself for getting this out
Atsumu likes to hold her after they fuck.Â
His bare leg is hooked over her hip, and his arm is thrown over her shoulder, pulling her into his chest. Itâs hot under her sheets, and Astumuâs skin is coated in a thin layer of sweat. Itâs humid and unbearable, but she bears it, holding onto him by his waist, because itâs the only time heâs like this with her.Â
âThank you,â he says, and he tucks her head under his chin. His eyes are closed, and he lets out a long, deep breath. âI needed that.âÂ
He thanks her like she did him a favor. Her arms go a bit tighter around his waist, and she presses her ear against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. âYeah,â she mumbles, her cheek pressed flat against his skin. âAnytime.âÂ
Atsumu runs a hand over the back of her head, smoothing down her hair. His fingers continue, dragging slowly down the center of her spine. âDo you mind if I stay for a little while?â he asks, voice dropping to a raspy whisper that makes her feel so desperate that shame boils just under his touch.Â
Her eyes close. âNo,â she says, her lips brushing against his bare chest as she speaks. âYou can stay for as long as you want.âÂ
Itâs like this every week. She always expects it to be different, and it never is. Every week, when it feels like itâs been dark for too long and sheâs alone and canât sleep, she texts him after she promised herself she wouldnât. Sometimes he responds and says heâll be right over, sometimes he replies and says he canât. Sometimes he shows up without saying anything at all.Â
Itâs been like this for a while. Long enough for her to feel embarrassed that sheâs letting him drag her along like this.Â
He hums, and she can feel vibrations throughout his chest. âYouâre so soft,â he tells her, âit makes it hard to leave.âÂ
Atsumu will leave, though. Before the morning comes, heâll be out the door without saying a word to her. It doesnât seem very difficult, when he does go. He always peels her off of him like sheâs some piece of dirty laundry and slinks out of the room when he thinks sheâs fallen asleep.Â
His breathing steadies like heâs slipping into sleep. She tilts her chin forward, and places a soft kiss on the center of his chest. She wonât be able to sleep. Sheâs too wired, itâs too hot, and her neck lays uncomfortably on top of the pillow. When the morning comes sheâs going to be sore and tired, and it will be a strain to get anything done.Â
Her eyes close, and sheâs sure that Atsumuâs knocked out when she whispers, âYou donât have to leave, yâknow.âÂ
He doesnât say anything. She wasnât expecting him to. She keeps her eyes closed, and thinks of his warmth, trying her best to avoid thoughts of it disappearing when the morning comes.Â
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Atsumu stands at the edge of her bed and pulls on a pair of sweatpants. âIâm sorry to leave so soon,â he tells her, thumbs tucked under the waistband as they settle at the bottom of his hips. âI have to be at the gym so goddamn early tomorrow.âÂ
Her legs are crossed underneath the blanket and she sits upright, holding the pillow he usually sleeps on against her lap. ââS okay,â she tells him, watching as he grabs his hoodie off of the floor and throws it on over his head. âIâm not offended or anything.âÂ
âHonestly, I probably shouldnât have come over tonight,â he confesses, and now sheâs starting to feel a bit of a sting. âI just really needed to see you tonight.âÂ
She doesnât know how to feel about this. She shuffles a bit, an indiscernible feeling settling uncomfortably over her skin. Atsumu doesnât say things like that. She doesnât know how to react. âIs something wrong?âÂ
Atsumu freezes, placing his hands in the pocket of his sweatshirt. His expression is screwed up, knotted. Something is wrong. She leans forward, like sheâs expecting him to whisper it in her ear, like heâs about to profess something profound and close to his chest. But Atsumu just shakes his head, âNah, itâs nothing,â he says. He pats the pockets of his sweatpants. âHave you seen my phone?âÂ
Sheâs disappointed, but she doesnât know why. She leans back and reaches towards her nightstand, yanking her phone off the charger and dialing Atsumuâs number. She knows it by heart, and hopes that he doesnât notice. It buzzes from under her sheets.Â
He leaves half past midnight, forty minutes after he got there. She canât sleep once heâs gone. She stays up, scrolling mindlessly through her phone, trying to wear down her mind, make it too tired to keep thinking of him.Â
Sakusa texts her. Five minutes past one. âWas Atsumu at your place?âÂ
She ignores it.Â
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Atsumu lies on his side, and draws patterns on her bare stomach with the tip of his finger. She doesnât say anything, out of fear of making him stop. She watches him instead, watching his face as he stares down at her midriff. He has this slight smile on his face, and it makes her feel pleasantly uneasy.
âI like your stomach,â he tells her. âI think itâs my favorite part of you.âÂ
The smile that grows on her face must give her away. Sheâs grateful for how occupied he is with her skin. âYou have a favorite part of me?âÂ
âYeah, I mean, I like all of you,â Atsumu tells her. âBut I do have favorites. Your stomach, your nose, your thighs, fuck, just so much of you,â he sighs, as if overwhelmed. âI mean, a man can only take so much.âÂ
She doesnât think itâs fair, that sheâs expected not to fall in love with him when he says things like that. So unabashedly, completely unprompted. And there is this small part of her that kind of resents him, for things like this, saying all of that when heâs going to leave her before the morning comes. But she likes it more than she could ever hate it. So she smiles, and she says, âI donât think I could pick my favorite part of you,â and means it more than she should.Â
Atsumuâs hand stops, and he looks up at her. He grins, and it makes her stomach flip.Â
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Itâs fifteen minutes to midnight, and sheâs pacing in her bedroom, trying not to look at her phone. She texted him twenty minutes ago, and she thinks if she keeps herself from looking at her phone, itâll make him respond quicker. She canât back her logic, but sheâs well past the point of reason.Â
He hadnât talked to her all week. Which, she tries to tell herself, isnât too weird. Heâs busy. Heâs a professional athlete. He has better things to do than entertain her and her whims, and what is she to him, really, besides a person to sleep with? They werenât that close when they started hooking up, and itâs not like the fucking as brought them closer together.Â
But still, her stomach knots up with nerves. She feels like somethingâs wrong. Maybe she gave him too much of herself. Maybe he doesnât want as much of her as sheâs willing to give.Â
Her phone vibrates against her nightstand, and she nearly breaks a toe rushing to answer it. On her home screen is a notification from him.Â
Canât make it tonight. Sorry.Â
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
She always tries to give Atsumu what he wants. He likes it when she begs, so she begs. She gets down on her knees and begs to please him. He likes the feeling of her on top of him, thighs squeezing on either side of his hips, so she climbs on top of him, not stopping when her thighs start to burn. He likes it wet, so itâs wet. His hair tugged, his neck nibbled on, his back scratched. Whatever he likes, she gives it to him.Â
And he keeps making these small little grunts of pleasure and his eyes are fluttering, but Atsumu feels far away. Unimpressed with the way her body moves against his. His hands lay lazily on her hips, not gripping tightly on her flesh. He doesnât whisper praise in her ear. He doesnât bite down on his lip and tell her yes, he likes it like that, keep doing that. Heâs quiet, withdrawn.Â
She keeps trying to give him more, and more, desperation clawing on the inside of her chest. But Atsumu gives her nothing. He takes what she offers silently, and it starts to feel like heâs keeping his eyes closed to avoid looking at her.Â
After, he doesnât hold her. Atsumu lies on his back with his hands tucked under his head, staring at her ceiling. He doesnât say anything.Â
Her body feels like itâs burning. She feels humiliated. The silence is bad but she thinks talking might be worse. She doesnât want him to leave but she doesnât want him to stay if itâs going to be more of this. The air is so thick she thinks she might choke on it.Â
Atsumu turns his head to look at her. âHave you talked to Omi recently?âÂ
The question shocks her so badly she turns her head to him, face scrunched up in confusion. âWhat?âÂ
He shrugs. âHe hasnât been talking to me lately. I was just wondering if he said anything to you.âÂ
Her head straightens out and she looks back up at the ceiling. âHe texted me the other week and asked if you were here. I didnât know if I should tell him or not, and it didnât really seem like any of his business, so I just didnât respond.âÂ
Atsumu hums. âI think heâs jealous of you.âÂ
âDo you want him to be?â she asks at once, and then regrets it.Â
Atsumu doesnât say anything to this. He gets quiet, and she has to bite down on her lip to keep herself from saying something else stupid. Somehow, the air gets heavier.Â
âIâm sorry,â she says after a minute of silence.Â
âItâs okay,â Atsumu says, and he doesnât mean it. He leaves a minute later, and tells her itâs because he has an early practice, but sheâs not stupid.Â
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Atsumu presses her against her bedroom wall, and when she closes her eyes, all she can see is him and Sakusa, armâs slung around each otherâs shoulders in a post-victory celebration earlier that day. And the way Atsumu looked at him makes her feel rotten. It hurts to remember, and Atsumu pounding into her does little to distract from it.Â
Sheâs the loser in this war, she thinks, arms around his shoulders and leg hooked over his hip, too disconnected from her body to feel anything. It doesnât matter how many times Atsumu has crawled back into her bed and held her against his chest. It doesnât matter how in love with him she is. Itâs always Sakusa. Itâll always be Sakusa.Â
He holds her tightly after, their legs tangled together and his cheek resting on the top of her head. His phoneâs in his pocket and it keeps buzzing. Atumu ignores it, and she canât stop herself from thinking that itâs him.
She swallows. Her throat feels dry. âSomeone keeps texting you,â she says, because she wants him to acknowledge it.Â
Atsumu inhales deeply. âIgnore it,â he says, âjust lie with me.âÂ
She closes her eyes, and does as sheâs told.Â
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Can I come over tonight?Â
He texted her first. He doesnât usually, but he did. The notification popped up over a video the MSBY Black Jackals post-match. Meianâs giving a courtside interview, but just behind him, she can see Atsumu and Sakusa, shoulders squared and tensed, keeping a strict distance from each other as they exit the court. She can feel the chill through the screen of her phone.Â
She doesnât know what it is that holds the both of them back from each other. Maybe itâs her. Maybe Sakusa doesnât realize that Atsumu would drop her immediately if Sakusa ever asked him to.Â
Sheâs always known that he would, though. Whatever she has to offer doesnât seem to compare to Sakusa. Sheâs just a temporary fix, really. Just something to hold Atsumu over until Sakusa realizes this.Â
She taps on the notification, and her conversation with Atsumu pops up. For a second, she scrolls through it. Minimal talking, mostly texts from her, with late responses from him. She can see it there, how much Atsumu doesnât care about her. It doesnât matter if he asks to come over or tells her he loves her stomach or how hard it is for him to leave. He just doesnât care about her. Not the way she cares about him.Â
Her thumbs hover over the keyboard for a moment, paused in contemplation, before she types out a quick, yeah, sure, and hits send without thinking anymore about it.
If Sakusa hasnât figured it out yet, then sheâs not about to help him. Sheâll just keep giving and giving, until thereâs nothing left to give.

write me a story where cameron finally learns chase is allergic to strawberries thank you (you can ignore this ask)
rip to chase if i couldnât eat strawberries iâd pretend not to care about anything either. anyway set between s3 and s4 (or maybe at the very start of s4 idk whatever. point is they havenât been together too long)
âI couldâve killed you,â Cameron says, sounding angry and annoyed and not very sorry, but Chase knows itâs all a front; sheâd cried in the ambulance, small and scared looking as soon as the EMTs not-so-kindly told her that as a doctor she should know that there was little else they could do between giving him more epi and getting him to the hospital, and heâd wanted to reach out and comfort her, but that had been difficult what with his throat being all swollen up at the time. âI cannot believe you didnât tell me.â
âI wasnât going to die, or anything,â Chase protests, because he doesnât really want to talk about this right now: why he never bothered to sit Cameron down and go by the way, now that weâre sleeping each other regularly can you throw out everything you own that contains strawberry? Because there is a reasonâChase isnât this cavalier with his health on a daily basis, honestâbut it is going to upset her, and the whole reason why Chase never told her was specifically to avoid this kind of fight. Thereâs no polite way to say I was pretty sure youâd interpret it as a sign of impending commitment and run for the hills, especially now that Cameron is kind of adorably self-conscious about that whole period of their lives. Heâs only been dating Cameron for three weeks; on balance, the risk of anaphylaxis is far less deadly than the one to their incredibly fledgling relationship. âI had my Epi-Pen on me.â
Cameron narrows her eyes at him in disgust. âIâm an immunologist,â she starts, preparing, no doubt, to rip into him about how Epi-Pens are a miracle of modern medicine but arenât actually magic, and how anaphylactic reactions can worsen with repeat exposure, and Chase is actually kind of looking forward to it even though his throat is sore and his head is killing him and his body feels like itâs encased in syrup, because a side effect of the honeymoon phase is that he now finds it incredibly hot when sheâs on the warpath, even at himâonly she takes a big gulp of breath and she suddenly starts to cry again. Not quiet, terrified tears like the one in the ambulance, but big, rolling, heaving sobs. Heâs seen her cry before, usually over patients, but not like this, and it freaks him out a little; Chase extends his IV-free arm towards her and corrals her in so she can rest her cheek on his chest. Itâs lucky, he thinks, that theyâd been closer to General than PPTH; sheâd never let him do this if they were in the ER at Princeton-Plainsboro.
âAllison,â he says into her hair, voice still hoarse, âIâm fine. It was an accident.â
He almost adds this has never happened beforeâbecause it hasnât, usually Chase has to actually ingest something strawberry to provoke a reaction, heâs never had one just from kissing someone until nowâbut he does, for better or for worse, know exactly how Cameron ticks, and he has a feeling that this wonât be as reassuring as he means for it to be. âIâm sorry,â he says instead, âI promise Iâm not allergic to anything else.â
âYou better not be,â Cameron huffs. She cranes her neck up to look at him, eyes red and puffy, and says, âYouâre banned from my apartment until I can deep clean the kitchen. And the bathroom, and the bedroom. I have strawberry lube that I need to get rid of.â
âThereâs probably not any actual strawberry in your lube,â Chase says. Cameron makes as though to thump his chest, then remembers heâs hooked up to an EKG and thinks better of it. âNo need to ruin all our fun, is all Iâm saying.â
âIâm an immunologist,â Cameron says again, but she doesnât sob this timeâit comes out more as a sigh. âYou shouldâve told me.â
Chase thinks, idly, of all the times Cameron brought her favourite strawberry cream cheese bagels into work and heâd turned them downâhow many times House had raised his eyebrows at the sight, but never bothered to say anything, either. He thinks of Cameron crying in the ambulance. Thereâs a hazy memory of her suddenly running off as soon as the ambulance parked in the bay, which is strange, and then he realises she smells absurdly strongly of medical grade mint. âYou threw up,â he realises, and pets her head clumsily. âYou shouldâve asked for some Zofran.â
âDonât be an idiot,â Cameron says. âWhen youâre better, weâre going to talk about this.â After a moment, she laces her hand with his. âIâm glad youâre okay.â
She says it so nakedly that Chase doesnât have it in him to fight back about her being mad at him anymore. âTold you Iâm fine,â he says drowsily, and then he falls dead asleep.

celia hates basically all of chris's friends by virtue of them Being Chris's Friends (it personally offends her that there are people who love him better than she ever could in his life), but she has a special distaste for sandra, who she not only dislikes for being a dirty whore promiscuous, but she's also openly accused her of trying to steal chris from her, an accusation that held no weight when it was first leveled at her cuz sandra hadn't thought she cared about chris like that but it slowly became a self fulfilling prophecy as she spent more time with him and his parents and decided "yeah, actually, i am going to steal your son from you and your creep husband you piece of shit, fuck you celia fuck you fuck youfuck you"
#sandra starts noticing the way chris wilts with embarrassment and shame when celia insults either of them#or the way he flinches when raymond gets too close to him#and promptly chooses to take her accusation as a challenge because haha wow this is not a safe household for him is it celia!#for the record i think celia also detests that raymond clearly likes sandra but she's more concerned about her taking chris away from her#it's normal for husbands to get a wandering eye after all. it doesn't necessarily mean anything. not if she ignores it hard enough.#chris however...........that's her loyal little lapdog whom she hates but can't stand to not be around her#and sons *are* meant to leave eventually as much as celia dislikes the idea of him being free to make his own choices and embarrass her#she just needs to make sure that he goes to someone who'll help her keep that tight leash she has on him. someone who'll let her intervene#in his life if he veers off the path she wants him on. a path that constantly changes with her whims because it's more about being able to#control him than having any coherent end result#and she knows for a fact that sandra will help chris loosen that leash if she gets too close so she's immediately on the defensive the#second she meets her. she knows she'll be an Issue#the thing is though is it's partly her own fault because sandra might not have have gotten so invested if celia hadn't egged her on lol#i like her being a spite motivated person under the right circumstances. hehe#the goes wrong show#chris bean#sandra wilkinson#celia bean#chrissandra#chris&celia#abuse tw#misogyny tw#? idk if that's the best tag to use here just lmk i guess#marshy speaks#gotta say btw writing celia's fucked up patriarchy ridden inner monologue is so fun she has so many issues and problems#horrible woman. i hate her <3#i'm such a yapper i did not mean for these tags to get so long ghldkjsafkadsf#could've been their own post. but also. no they couldn't have. y'know#anyway this post has been in my drafts for too long. be released my child

All the Kavetham/Haikaveh ideas I don't have capacity to currently write, a very detailed list:
(Which I am humbly placing here before you. Be warned: this post is an incredibly long one!)
1. Fatui!Kaveh AU, where the night before the meeting happens between Kaveh and Alhaitham at the tavern, Kaveh gets a deal from Fatui representatives to work on a huge project in Snezhnaya. Kaveh is sceptical about it, but decides to accept the offer during the dialogue with Alhaitham (seeing himself as a burden, Kaveh decides that he will cause more trouble to Alhaitham than the Fatui, thus he decides to accept their offer even if it seems too good to be true). He tells Alhaitham about his decision to leave for Snezhnaya, and so the two relatively amicably/peacefully part their ways (not without Alhaitham testing Kaveh's reasoning a bit, but Kaveh's resolve remains strong).
And so, Kaveh leaves for Snezhnaya, where he gets to work on several huge projects for the next several years under Sandrone. Most of them are related to construction, engineering and reverse-engineering of Khaenri'ahn and Khaenri'ah-inspired technology, and he gets barely any time to work on his personal projects (he's overworked and exhausted and doesn't get much time and opportunity to be creative; however, the payments are good and he's on his way to getting out of debt, which is practically the sole reason driving him forward. The projects get progressively more complicated and, in a way, unhinged - engineering military equipment is alright, but working with the remains of Khaenri'ahn technology, dead gods and such proves to be... mentally taxing. Everything happens very gradually though, so Kaveh does not immediately notice the true scale of where the Fatui are ready to go to achieve certain goals). Kaveh doesn't really like the work environment of the Fatui, but he does his best (the Harbingers creep him out whenever he gets to see them on a rare official occasion (he might specifically dislike Pantalone because the Harbinger keeps picking at him for his debt, given a chance), but Sandrone's a decent boss who is somewhat encouraging and invested in his work and personal projects. She might be especially interested in Mehrak's existence and operation). Overall, everything goes quite smoothly for Kaveh, even if he doesn't feel quite at home in Snezhnaya and is aware of how dangerous the Fatui can be. He does not consider himself to be paranoid, but the other shoe has to drop at some point - and that happens when the new Acting Grand Sage of Sumeru gets to visit Snezhnaya on a diplomatic mission (aka: Kaveh reconnects with Alhaitham & Co for the first time in what feels like forever). The situation gets complicated when Kaveh realizes that Sandrone encourages the reestablishment of his connection with Alhaitham specifically - and she never encourages an action if she doesn't directly contribute from it.
Feelings, emotions and shenanigans ensue.
TLDR: Kaveh's doing his best despite being restricted in his ways of work, prevented from realizing most of his creative projects and slowly but surely building emotional walls around himself because Fatui and Snezhnaya; Sandrone being a kind of decent boss with sorta good work ethic but horrendous morals who is not exactly a good influence on Kaveh's idealistic tendencies and guilt complex; Fatui being contextually horrifying but kinda normal coworkers if you don't look at them too close; Alhaitham trying his best as a political figure (Nahida help him) while also trying to get Kaveh to return home with him (because he misses him); the main conflict revolving around Kaveh and his life choices with Sandrone and Alhaitham being kind of foils to each other (with Sandrone gradually destroying Kaveh's idealistic morals and playing on his guilt to get the most out of his potential as an innovator, and with Alhaitham actively trying to resolve Kaveh's guilt and show him that, despite their arguments, Kaveh's idealism still has place in the world and can co-exist with other philosophies). There might or might not be some macguffin-esque Deshret relic that both Akademia and Fatui hunt for that eventually brings the whole crew back to Sumeru. Kaveh might or might not get a chance to meet a fragment of Deshret's spirit within the mentioned relic. But there definitely will be a happy end for everyone here (Deshret will make sure of it).
2. Calamity!AU. The new Cataclysm comes, enveloping all Seven Nations, and so Sumeru does its best to survive. The cities are ruined, and the people gather together in random places to survive. Alhaitham gets to live within one of the settlements, established by the Akademiya. While trying to survive the first wave of the new Calamity, he is also looking for Kaveh; after an argument between the two the architect left for an expedition to the Desert, right before the new Calamity began. Unfortunately, the news comes that his group should have been around Tunigi Hollow - one of the spots in Sumeru where the first wave of the new Calamity hit the hardest. There is no concrete information on whether Kaveh's group survived or not. Alhaitham, not loosing hope, does his best to find any information on Kaveh's whereabouts, but due to Sumeru becoming extremely dangerous to traverse and disjointed as a result of the new Calamity, the search stretches out for almost a decade.
One day Alhaitham helps a caravan, traversing the forests to get to one of the settlements, to fight off the monsters. Unexpectedly, Kaveh turns out to be one of the members of the caravan. Their reunion is almost cut short by the caravan's need to keep going, but Alhaitham convinces Kaveh to join him instead. The two return to the new Sumeru city settlement, where Alhaitham lives and works under the watch of Akademiya and Lord Kusanali. It appears that during his years of travels around the destroyed Sumeru Kaveh learned new ways of architectural construction that would be more efficient against the monsters, born by the Calamity. He also seems to behave quite differently, hardened by the experiences of the past years. Alhaitham proposes for Kaveh to stay with him in the city, and Kaveh accepts. The feelings, new routines, dealings with the changed versions of each other and attempts to find new pace of life in the new world ensue.
TLDR: The world might be ending and impossible to live in, but even so each new day is brighter when the person one loves is by their side.
3. Another Cataclysm!AU, where Kaveh and Alhaitham get assigned separate missions in the grander scheme of things created to prevent the coming of a new Calamity. The plan succeeds and the world remains safe, but not without heavy losses: amongst many others, Kaveh does not survive while carrying out his mission.
Decades pass as Alhaitham goes through his grieving process. Eventually, one evening on the anniversary of the Calamity's prevention, Alhaitham wanders to a place he and Kaveh used to visit together. A Ley Line disruption occurs, and he gets to see a glimpse of Kaveh through it. They have a conversation; the Ley Line apparition (a memory of Kaveh) is convinced that Alhaitham is from the future, and so they talk a lot about the Calamity, whether it was prevented, and about each other's futures. Alhaitham can't bring himself to tell Kaveh that he does not survive the Calamity, but he does tell Kaveh that his architectural legacy lives on. Kaveh commends Alhaitham on his achievements (though not an acting grand sage for a very long time, Alhaitham kept playing an important role throughout Sumeru's history, helping to keep it safe).
Eventually, their time runs out. Ley Line disorder starts gradually disappearing. Alhaitham urges Kaveh to be careful and stay safe, knowing that the Calamity (on Kaveh's side) is yet to come. Kaveh laughs and tells him that on his side, Alhaitham just told him the same words after they finished the debriefing session, related to the Calamity. He says that he was feeling very nervous, but that seeing future-Alhaitham made him convinced that they are on the right path.
And so, the Ley Line disorder disappears. Alhaitham spends some more time at the spot before returning home. Despite painful memories having been brought up, his heart feels a bit lighter.
TLDR: closure comes unexpectedly, takes many forms and does not erase the pain in an instant, but, nevertheless, it heals.
4. AU! where Kaveh and Alhaitham are both magical birds that can transform into humans (and half-humans).
They live together in the depths of Sumeru forest - a domain of a long lost God of Wisdom. Kaveh's feathers are rumoured to bring blessings, while Alhaitham's feathers, on the contrary, are said to bring bad luck or even curses. Humans, living at the edge of magical forest, kinda worship them, but also prefer not to interact with them, primarily because Alhaitham is not happy when others trespass on his lands, and because searching for Kaveh is extremely hard (he's often off working on his projects deep within the forest), and the magical forest is very dangerous on its own. So, the humans build their cities outside of the Sumeru forest, and Alhaitham and Kaveh peacefully live together in the depths of it.
Despite Kaveh and Alhaitham living together for a long time, their opinions on humanity are diametrically opposed: Alhaitham barely tolerates humans, finding them to be reckless, meddling, cowardly and deceitful; Kaveh, on the contrary, finds humans to be creative, inspiring, free and beautiful in their own way. Throughout the years, Kaveh manages to build somewhat of an amicable relationship with the humans, living at the edge of the forest: he learns more about their traditions and arts, while the humans receive his guidance and blessings in various matters of living, craftsmanship and arts. Eventually, Kaveh's knowledge and magical powers catch the eye of Lord Sangemah Bay, who resides in and governs one of the bigger settlements at the forest's border. She makes a deal with Kaveh that, despite providing him with valuable (in his eyes) experience of working with humans on some of his grandest architectural projects, costs him a lot - meaning he has to give away lots of his blessed feathers, which makes his remaining magic much weaker (and generally undermines his health for a bit). Alhaitham is not a huge fan of such approach (in his eyes, Kaveh is wasting his powers and time for nothing, endangering himself), and so a conflict between him and Kaveh breaks. As a result, Kaveh flees their home, secluding himself while he's focusing on other projects he finds curious. Kaveh keeps working with humans, and though Alhaitham certainly keeps an eye on Kaveh's wellbeing, he does not make it easy for humans to reach him. So what if there are new random magical seals, obstacles, almost-traps and riddles appearing here and there when people try to get to Kaveh? It's a magical forest, things happen! (Kaveh knows that Alhaitham does this on purpose, and Alhaitham knows that Kaveh knows, and it leads to them indirectly, and then directly bickering and arguing. The magical forest quite possibly grows very tired of them. Their friends Tighnari and Cyno certainly do, but alas.)
The new equilibrium, found by Alhaitham and Kaveh, is challenged once more when Kaveh leaves to the Lord Sangemah Bay's city to direct yet another one of his grand projects. They do not see each other for a long while. Despite all the challenges, Kaveh's relationship with Dori gradually grows stronger - the two value their partnership - and Kaveh ends up making friends amongst humans. However, not everyone is happy about Lord Sangema Bay's growing friendship with the "deity of blessings" personified. As some people come to despise her for her wealth, influence and ever growing power, so do they come to despise the bird of paradise.
When the project is complete, the time for celebration comes. Kaveh gets to attend a feast by Dori's side as a guest of honour, and is invited to stay the night in her palace before returning to the forest. Kaveh agrees: he's been spending all his days and nights at the building site, and resting a night before returning home would be nice. As the night goes on, however, Kaveh begins to feel weary and unwell - the new type of wine he was served did him no good. He excuses himself early for the night and, as soon as he gets to his bed, he's out cold.
After an undetermined amount of time (in what appears to be the middle of the night), Kaveh wakes up because of immense pain in his back.
As he gradually comes to his senses, he has a horrible realization: one of his wings was cut off when he was asleep. Alerting the guards and Dori yields no results: the intruder escaped, presumably with Kaveh's wing, and there are no traces of them left. While Kaveh gets immediately attended to, he goes in shock and, eventually, loses consciousness.
When the messengers form the city arrive to the forest, Alhaitham receives them reluctantly at first, but as soon as he hears of what happened, he rushes to the city. He ends up taking Kaveh back to the forest, hoping that its healing magic will help restore his wing. However, nothing seems to work: neither spells, nor the powers of nature, not even Tighnari's medicine. Though the wound is slowly healing, Kaveh remains unconscious for days. To get more information on what happened, Alhaitham returns to the city to question Dori together with Cyno (who's also to continue the investigation within the city once Alhaitham returns home), while Tighnari stays with Kaveh.
Though the questioning concludes that Dori knows nothing and is willing to assist in the search of the perpetrator, Cyno concludes that she was not thorough enough in ensuring Kaveh's safety and overall security of the celebration in general, revealing that Dori recklessly cut corners here and there. Furious, Alhaitham leaves Dori his cursed feather, giving her an ultimatum: she has to find the perpetrator and give them to Alhaitham to deal the final punishment. Until then, her city is doomed to slowly crumble into decay and oblivion. Dori accepts the deal.
Alhaitham returns to the forest to look after Kaveh, while Cyno remains in the city to continue the search. When Alhaitham comes back, Kaveh is finally awake. However, he remains extremely closed-off, practically a shadow of himself. The recovery process is slow and challenging, but Alhaitham does his best to support Kaveh in all ways that matter. Kaveh struggles with healing: the loss of a wing affected not only his body, but also his mental state and magic. He cannot transform, he can barely use any of his magical skills, and he cannot fly anymore, which hurts him most of all. It takes a while for Kaveh to get on his feet (quite literally), even longer to finally leave his room. He also feels guilty for being in Alhaitham's care, because he remembers all of the Alhaitham warnings about the humans he didn't listen to, and so lots of internal conflict ensues.
Meanwhile Alhaitham does all he can to try and navigate the situation. He looks after Kaveh's healing process; brings back his blueprints and equipment from Kaveh's place so that he has enough to work with if he wishes; he also (to the best of his ability) remodels their home to make it more accessible to Kaveh. Given that their natural method of moving around their house was flying (whether in form of birds of half-humans), Alhaitham now implements more adjustments for walking or climbing. (When Kaveh feels good enough to leave his room, he's amazed by what Alhaitham managed to achieve. He also helps fix some of the constructions, given he's the one with the experience in architecture.) Alhaitham and Kaveh grow closer, slowly unpacking and mending their relationship, turning it into something new and beautiful.
At the same time, Alhaitham continues to watch the forest borders - to make sure that no intruders interrupt Kaveh's recovery and their peaceful life together. One day he notices an interesting sight: a small, but beautiful shrine appeared right by the forest. He decides to investigate; upon approaching the shrine, he meets Nilou (whom he saw in the palace when he visited Dori). She explains to him that, after he and Kaveh left the city, a group of people decided to organize a shrine, dedicated to Kaveh, to pray for his recovery. Nilou explains that in their eyes it's the least they can offer for all the help that their city received in the past and as amends for the pain they have caused. Alhaitham warns her not to get any closer to the forest, but the action of people leaves a lasting impression on him.
Meanwhile, Cyno's investigation progresses. Cyno writes to Alhaitham that together with Dori they managed to find and capture the perpetrator. Questioning reveals no useful information, but Cyno suspects that there might be more to the attack on Kaveh than they anticipated. To uphold his end of the deal Alhaitham goes to the city to deliver the punishment to the attacker and to undo the curse he put on Dori's city. Before he leaves, Kaveh, scared of what might happen to Alhaitham, sews into his cloak a blessed feather for protection (because Alhaitham wouldn't accept it outright). While Alhaitham is away, Kaveh begins working on a new project: a mechanical wing.
When Alhaitham gets to the city, he is led to the cell where the attacker is being held. Cyno and Dori are by his side for the final questioning. The man - a mere mortal (with strange red-ish eyes), one of Dori's citizens - keeps talking in circles, making less and less sense with each new word. Alhaitham lets Cyno and Dori go before rendering the punishment. When the curse (one of Alhaitham's darkest yet) is finally prepared, suddenly, the tables are turned. The perpetrator attacks Alhaitham, but his movements seem unnatural, almost like those of a puppet. Alhaitham realizes, that the man is being controlled by someone with prowess for strong, incredibly dark magic that seems similar to that of the Desert. The strange puppet manages to overpower Alhaitham in a fight, but cannot harm him (due to the protection from Kaveh's feather). The perpetrator manages to escape, taking with him Alhaitham's cursed feather (they seemed to be pleased to receive it. Alhaitham fears to think what they will use it for).
Dori and Cyno pick up the investigation, with Cyno going straight to the Desert. Dori begins reinforcing the city (her people discover that Alhaithams curse (now lifted) awakened Miasma deep under the ground. The Miasma begins to slowly spread, seemingly in the direction of the Sumeru Forest). Cyno sends back a message, confirming that strong and dark magic seems to be gathering within the Desert, possibly for the purpose of destroying the magical forest.
Alhaitham manages to get back to Kaveh and tell him of what happened in the city. In order to be able to protect the forest together with Alhaitham, Kaveh doubles down on his efforts to create a mechanical working wing. Everything works, besides the golden feathers - they need to be blessed in order to allow the mechanism to work as intended, but Kaveh does not have enough power for it. Alhaitham takes a risk and brings the feathers to the shrine, created by Nilou and other humans, so that they could bless them for Kaveh. (They are short of one feather eventually, and Alhaitham gives Kaveh one of his own, his first blessed feather, to complete the wing.)
TLDR: Kaveh works on restoring his wing and faith in himself and humanity; Alhaitham learns that humanity is not always evil. Dori and Cyno discover that the escaped perpetrator (caugh controlled by Dottore caugh) used Kaveh to get to Alhaitham to gain his cursed feather for completing some sort of ancient ritual to unseal the forbidden knowledge magic deep within the Desert in roder to unleash it on the magical forest, slumbering God of Wisdom and human cities. Kaveh learns to curse his feathers (while opposing Dottore in a final fight), and Alhaitham learns to bless his. Humans and Sumeru Forest continue to coexist peacefully. Alhaitham and Kaveh live together happily ever after.
5. Pacific Rim!AU, where Kaveh and Alhaitham used to be pilots of a Jaeger, but during one of their battles they suffered too much damage. In order to save Alhaitham and what remains of their Jaeger, Kaveh takes most of the damage by severing already unstable connection between Alhaitham and Jaeger's system. Both barely survive the encounter, but meanwhile Alhaitham manages to recover fast, the damage Kaveh has taken leaves him in a critical condition, eventually resulting in him being unable to ever pilot a Jaeger ever again (and putting many new restraints on his usual daily life).
As soon as Kaveh comes to his senses, the two have a huge fight about Kaveh's rash decision, and eventually break off their friendship. They don't see each other for a long, long time.
As the time goes on, Kaveh learns how to live with the changes that his body sustained with the help of his service dog Mehrak. Eventually he takes on a job at one of the Jaeger construction facilities (together with his friend Tighnari), studying Kaiju and creating new Jaeger modifications - though no Kaiju has been seen in the past several years, the world is still afraid of their return.
When the suspicion of the new Kaiju appearance arises, new pilot recruits and ex-pilots are summoned to the facility. There, Kaveh meets Alhaitham for the first time in years. After their fallout, Alahitham resigned from piloting Jaegers, yet now he had no choice but to return to train new recruits (and possibly resume his role of a Jaeger pilot). Now once again the two have to work together as a part of a team in face of approaching danger, trying to resolve their past conflicts and overcome their fears and insecurities along the way (when deep down they simply want to keep each other safe).
TLDR: Kaveh & service animal Mehrak is a neat concept I'd love to see more of, just as a concept in general. I think this one could be an interesting story idea centered mostly around Kaveh's day to day life. Additionally, Alhaitham who used to be only drift compatible with Kaveh but now suddenly discovers he's drift compatible with Cyno. I need more Cyno & Alhaitham camaraderie I think it would do them lots of good (at least in this specific AU setting lol).
6. Oxenfree!AU where Kaveh and Alhaitham are two ex-best friends turned reluctant coworkers (photo-journalist and journalist respectively) working on writing a piece about the disappearances of a group of teenagers that happened at the Edwards Island several years prior (timeline somewhere between the first and the second games). The radio shenanigans ensue, making the two face their past, possible futures and, most importantly, their present. (In Oxenfree tuning into certain radio sequences can temporarily mess up time-space shenanigans, just fyi).
TLDR: I just think that this setting could facilitate some character exploration that would be very fun.
7. Modern MermanKaveh!AU, post-fallout, where it's a little bit more about haunting Alhaitham (and the narrative), than being a merman. Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, Kaveh drowns one day, trying to save someone from the water. Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, he doesn't really die, being stuck in between (existence and death, normal life and the necessity to live in water). Kaveh manages, for quite a while even!
But of course Alhaitham has to come back and turn his world upside down once again.
TLDR: can you tell Alhaitham's quote about drowning stuck with me huh (and I made it literal lol). On a serious note... Idk, vibes??? I want to see the "stuck in the middle" Kaveh, whatever that entails. Some existential explorations. And the development of his relationship with Alhaitham, of course. // Kaveh is a merman unable to fully live the life he used to have, and Alhaitham doesn't know that he survived (for a while), alternatively "let me help to save you from metaphorical and literal drowning" Alhaitham and "I learned to live like this, this is what my norm now looks like" Kaveh.
8. Another Modern MermanKaveh!AU/DrownedGhostKaveh!AU, because I apparently have no self-control (I feel like I should also clarify that whenever I mention a mermaid, I think of them more as of ghosts of drowned people and less as mermaids-mermaids, the half-human half-marine creature ones). This idea was initially prepared for chili/zhongchi but it's been sooooooooooooooooooo long and I still haven't done anything substantial for it so I'm borrowing it from myself for myself and tweaking it for kavetham because I figured it could fit them. So here it goes,
Alhaitham is a scientist/marine biologist that moves from the city to a much smaller port town, getting himself a place in a local partially repurposed lighthouse. Kaveh is a merman, who has been dead for a long while and who's been living within local waters ever since he drowned. Alhaitham leads a very isolated life, going through a rather rough patch emotionally (maybe a badly ended past relationship and relocation from an established group of friends to a remote place brought up past negative emotions related to loss that were bottled up for a while. who knows, not me). Anyways, Alhaitham's not doing too well, but seaside walks help him unwind, even if for a short periods of time. During one of such walks, he finds an old pendant washed ashore. He picks up his find, hoping to do some research on it outside of his work time (because research is his fun-time).
He expects this to be a brief excursion into local history. He does not expect to become haunted by the ghost of a man to whom this pendant belonged to way back when.
Kaveh, in turn, is extremely excited to finally, finally be able to get out of the sea to the surface. He intends to stay ashore as long as possible and, well, if he just so gets to amuse himself by haunting a grumpy marine biologist that refuses to believe in merpeople, ghosts of drowned and other supernatural occurences - who's he to say no?
TLDR: this AU can go two ways (in my eyes): the happy ending way and probably more gothic-horror-story-esque ending. So, Alahitham is cursed to be haunted by Kaveh: for a while he's the only one who can see him, with Kaveh being something akin to a ghost. However, the longer Kaveh haunts Alhaitham, the more human he becomes (others can see him, he cannot phase through walls anymore, etc.). The curse in itself goes something like this: the cursed thing, after being picked up/taken in, cannot be thrown away and will always come back. The ghost, tied to the haunted thing, shall haunt whoever picks the cursed thing (the thing should be tied to the ghost, but may not necessarily belong to them) and drain their life energy. The ghost can become free and human again if the haunting goes long enough and they kill the human who picked the cursed object in the end during a very specific time that doesn't occur too often (proverbial blue moon, idk). If they don't kill the human and decide to let them go, then the ghost will seize to exist and the human will regain their strength. (An alternative option to the ghost dying for a less angsty au: the ghost voluntarily takes back the cursed object and returns to the place where they died, but then they will never be able to haunt anyone ever again. The effect of the curse on the haunted remain, but much weaker).
In this case, let's say Kaveh and Alhaitham stay by each other's side from half a year to a year, idk. They grow closer, eventually becoming friends and maybe more (the usual kavetham shenanigans Kaveh falls first but Alhaitham falls harder). Alhaitham's mental state gradually improves, yet overall he becomes weaker because of the curse (to the point that it becomes a serious concern), which Kaveh blames himself for. The appointed time approaches (both Kaveh and Alhaitham are in on the details of the curse), and Kaveh, seeing it as an opportunity to set Alhaitham free, manages to separate himself from Alhaitham. Kaveh is ready to return to the sea/merge with it (ah yes the classic Little Mermaid influence does anybody feel it lol). However, Alhaitham sees through his plan and arrives just in time to stop him. They have a confrontation. Eventually, they manage to lift the curse (as you can see I have not figured out exactly how this can happen but! it definitely can!) with Kaveh becoming human again and Alhaitham regaining his health. The two continue to live together happily ever after.
The other scenario is practically the same, but it's more ghothic? and abstract (and probably more suitable for the og pairing it was made for, but i'll throw it in anyways). I have not engaged with gothic literature much and thus don't have much experience in how it works/how to write it, but the idea is that Kaveh is more of a projection of Alhaitham's grief than a ghost fo a drowned person (in other words, he's definitely a ghost, but his presence is also much more symbolical). The story follows quite similar beats, except the setting of the curse is a bit different: it's more of a "kill first or be killed" thingy with a deadline. Kaveh earnestly tries to drown Alhaitham at first through various means, but the more time they spend together, the more Kaveh sees of Alhaitham's life and pain and feels sympathetic for him. Despite the curse, Kaveh tires to help Alhaitham in various ways; and it works! Alhaitham gradually begins to feel better; the two grow closer to each other (more in a platonic way).
So now the precedent is that though Alhaitham's overall doing better, the curse still preys on him, hindering his life in various ways that become more and more serious/dangerous (the curse's deadline approaches, and it tries to survive the best way it can through Kaveh's influence on Alhaitham). Eventually, Kaveh lets Alhaitham go, merging with the sea (once again, yes, it was partially inspired by the Little Mermaid). Alhaitham realizes what happened and tries to look for Kaveh, but it is in vain.
Eventually, life goes on.
Bonus Elden Ring AU (because guess who suddenly went on a lore video watching spree): Kaveh is a craftsman and one of the inhabitants of Castle Morne who managed to escape before it was overrun by Misbegotten. He's a follower of St. Trina and Miquella (he doesn't follow Miquella at first, but slowly he comes to suspect that the two are one and the same). After escaping from Castle Morne, he finds his way to Jarburg, where he is welcomed to stay and be the new Potentate.
Alhaitham is from a distant branch of Carian royal family and a scholar at the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Quite possibly explored an area of studies similar to Sellen's. Eventually he separates himself from both Academy and his family, becoming a wandering scholar.
The two meet somewhere nearby Jarburg when Kaveh gets ambushed by the same people who were trying to get to Alhaitham. The two fight them off. Kaveh, trying to help injured Alhaitham, leads him to Jarburg. The two continue living together there ever since (not without hiccups, but they're doing their best).
TLDR: this one is short and very simple because I just started diving into the Elden Ring's lore, but I just. Really wanted to make some AU for them. I also desperately wanted it to be peaceful and happy one despite it being a seeming impossibility for anything dark souls/elden ring related, but one can dream. If I were to make this one darker I'd probably expand on the duality of their two characters here, and how Alhaitham probably used to conjure spells on humans (with gaining knowledge being his sole life purpose for a long time) and has challenges with comprehending the world outside of a framework of pure logic, and how Kaveh gets an increasing tendency of escaping to the dream world/wherever Miquella is in order to alleviate his mental turmoil (maybe he witnessed too much during his escape from the Castle), and how the two have opposing perspectives on the idea of worshipping gods, and- like, there's a lot that can be done. But I also just really really really want them to simply be happy together in a jar village, leading a peaceful life.
That's it for now! Thank you for reading all of this, I can't commend your patience enough if you got to the end of this list!!!âšđâš
Maybe in the future I will unpack some of these aus. who knows.

#so i've been dealing with some irl stuff recently#nothing too bad. it was just really frustrating and exhausting for me. and really putting a damper on my mood and my art#and i'm sorry if i've been acting a little weird or not saying too much or anything#or if i've been kinda inactive for the past few days#but i'll be okay!#i just wanted to let you guys know what's been kinda going on#i'm slowly working on something really sweet involving Hugo and Noa. so that's been making me feel better#i need something happy and soft between them lol#also! I've been playing The Quarry recently!#the writing is kinda stupid and almost all of the characters act like they don't have a brain. but that's what makes it so fun!#and i'm pretty sure the devs did that intentionally. to make it seem more like a campy monster flick#i'm really enjoying it so far! the werewolves are really cool!#also it's really funny to me how they just pop like balloons whenever they're transforming#i thought it was gonna be a slow transformation. but no. their skin just immediately explodes off#and then they somehow get it all back when they turn back into humans? idk how that works but it's pretty rad#also also! the thing with the tarot cards is really cool!#i missed a lot in the beginning because i didn't know what i was looking for#and the fortune teller lady in between chapters kept getting mad at me for not finding any#but i eventually started to get it! when the game decided to really put one in my face in chapter 3 lol#and the thing with the tarot cards representing the different characters in the game got me thinking about what card Noa would probably be#i think Seven of Swords would be right up her alley#because it's associated with deception. dishonesty. betrayal. and acting strategically#and it could also signify self-deception and confessions. which is all very true for her character#aaahh now i wanna make a tarot card design for her!#but that's an idea for another day#anyway sorry for sorta rambling a bit#i hope you all are doing okay

#btw did an interesting exercise in acting class today which was meant to make us more aware of our main characteristics#which will be the ones that will inevitably come up in the characters we'll play#and potentially get us a job but anyway#we had to write down three things about each of us and anonymously give them to eachother#i was terrified#like ok i want to know in details what you think of me but my own image of myself is so evanescent that being perceived is scary af#the thing that came out the most is that I'm empathetic#which I honestly wish i were more. idk sometimes i feel like I'm faking it? not in a mean way just imagining what it would mean to be in#others' shoes and what would be the appropriate way to deal with that but not necessarily feeling it ik#which is basically fundamental for that job so mh. not completely true but ok#then that I'm brave??????? my siblings in christ I'm afraid of my own shadow#that I'm sure of myself?????#and then the one that hit me the most which said something like 'you make me want to be your friend' which is. ouch.#not for them but because i keep thinking and rethinking about that one classmate in high school that told me#'i don't want to be your friend because you're always sad'#and that hurt#and now this#i know I've changed#i met a high school teacher the other day and i realized how different i was since he knew me eight years ago#i know he was probably stunned by it#(also he told me i look prettier but I'm quite positive he was talking about me being anorexic in those days lmao)#tw#anyway point is. i wish 18 years old me would see me know#i think I'll do that exercise i did in class where i met my inner child but with my inner teenager#she was so alone and scared and everything was so unfair to her#i wish i could tell her hey one day a lot of people will love you even if you'll still feel alone sometimes but everyone will look at you#when they need a kind smile or a gentle hand and isn't that beautiful? to have such an impact to these people?#even because they're younger than me#and maybe they look at me and think it's gonna be ok when they're older#even if they feel a bit lost now

work colleague (the one who I'm working on a project with, who was supposed to be showing me the ropes - which she already barely did - who is supposed to be a superior while our boss is on parental leave) told me that I need to join the team leader meeting next week "so things dont escalate again" bc apparently her temper got the best of her (she told me this herself btw, which.. jfc)
and I feel SO uncomfortable at even the idea of that thats I've been feeling sick to my stomach over it since Friday. I'm still an intern ffs, I don't get paid to do her job, which is to explain what we're doing and to explain why we're doing it. I didn't decide on making this a whole thing, and I certainly didn't sign up to take her place while she throws me to the wolves (clinic admins who are pissed that change is being introduced to how they've been running things for years)
I know I need to address it, and at least tell my boss, I feel like shit reaching out to him while he's supposed to be on leave, but if I don't push back and give in now when there's also so many other ways she's been dodging her responsibilities then idk.
she barely communicates which is the basis for working with anybody, and even when *I* reach out she barely ever replies and leaves me hanging, unable to progress in certain tasks just bc I *literally* don't know shit yet bc I've been working there for a total of two and a half months max. just.. boss guy would be happy for me to stay on but honestly that lady has as bad a temper and worse social skills than the lady who made my last job hell enough that I was out of commission for almost three years, first on sick leave and then in various rehab/therapy programs just to make it back to being able to work again.. I really don't want to go down this road again
so I guess I do need to write this all down tomorrow in a message to him and hopefully he'll at least acknowledge that this is a shit situation to put me in and have a talk with her. but idk tbh. not sure what to do if he asks me to still join that group meeting on Friday, also terrified of her reaction if he does bring it up with her, ngl
last time she got "upset" she didn't talk to me for a whole day, didn't reply to my message before I left for 5 weeks and then still didn't leave a single message to explain where to continue in our project before being gone herself for another 2 and a half weeks.. that kind of childish pettiness idk. really don't want to have to keep dealing with her
lazy colleagues idk sure it's frustrating cleaning up after them, but this kind of behaviour is as close to intolerable as things get before I need to get myself the fuck away for good
#anyway. sorry for the long post#I also already wrote a note for myself with what to bring up when I write that message tomorrow#but I keep half-talking myself out of it bc it's hard to rationally quantify the terror I feel at dealing with behaviour like that#like.. I know part of it is past trauma response. but there are very rational reasons why this behaviour shouldn't be tolerated#and still I feel like he might decide that I'm more trouble than I'm worth or that it's not worth dealing with her moods#he knows the whole group has issues with her. I'm sure they've brought it up plenty of times to him so this isn't news#which makes me think that he either gave up or doesn't know how to handle it either#either way.. if my attempt of asking for help leads nowhere then idk what I'll do. prob not stay post internship for one thing#which sucks bc I love the work we do and the rest of the team#fuck#a day in the life of..#sorry. just needed to write down my thoughts again bc I ready know this'll keep me up and give me stress dreams tonight#I've done what I can to distract myself but my mind keeps wandering and my chest hurts

#yk when i said i'm back to being active on tumblr well yeah đ
#i had to write a seminar paper for uni and it hasn't been going well because i got sick and didn't get much done#well i got an extension luckily but it still was a struggle the topic was just rly difficult to write about#i'm almost done now at least some 300 words i still have to write and then proofread and work on better formulating but yay#i should get it done today but yeah i'll manage so i'll be back when i'm done the latest tmrw#but seminar papers are for real my least favorite part of uni đ
it's so time consuming and can be a real struggle ugh#i rather write an exam lmao#but anyway i needed to rant ://#my money got stolen đđ«#sometimes life just throws some shit at you ugh#like having to write this paper and not having a social life anymore isn't enougj#i don't know how it happened? i mean i don't know for sure but i can't explain it another way#like the money was in my wallet the day before yesterday and yesterday the whole day i didn't use my wallet qnd then it was gone??#maybe while i was at uni football but that's crazy it was not some public place but in a school gym lockerroom??#or maybe someone stole it from my backpack on the street idk?? but i didn't notice#but that was money i got for my birthday from my dad and aunts đȘ#and i wanted to buy something nice with it and ig i will anyway but it sucks :((#it was not a little no i had 150⏠in my wallet đ at least my credit cards are still there ig#but i realize now how stupid that probably was to carry so much money with but i thought it was safe fr#like i have lived in austria all my life and this never happened to me đ« and it was not like i was walking around with my wallet openly#i mean i will be fine it would be a lot worse if that happened to someone who is just barely getting by but i'm still upset#and my mom told me that apparently it happened to a friend of her as well when she was in my city but like i never heard that before...#from any of my friends ... or maybe it really is that more dangerous with thieves in my uni city but like i wasn't aware#bc i mean in general austria is like a very safe country comparatively and feels like it never was on my mind#maybe it's horrible bad luck but in the future I will be careful to carry any cash with me đ

I actually have a fic idea but lc is a show that's like. you will never ever have all the information and context until the end. and I am a writer who writes best and more confidently when I have all the info and context at my fingertips. so now I'm just like đ§ââïž
anyway. ramble in the tags
#mine musings#not tagging etc etc#it's an AU so it shouldn't even matter actually. but. whatever. i'll still try to write it. it'll take a while#it's more like character exploration anyway. a role reversal (my favorite kind of au)#i.e. what would the emma case look like if cxs is the one who keeps timelooping to save lg?#it's not a power swap or personality swap so i think it'll be an interesting exploration of the limits of their personalities#for example: in this au i think lg is still protective of cxs and acts as the guide. but he's closer to og!timeline lg#so i'm thinking that he's still very principled but perhaps less strict about doing small deviations from the timeline#cxs is still empathetic and reckless and i think that would actually get worse in a timelooping cxs#since he's the possessor he rationalizes to himself that he gets to shield lg from the messy parts of an operation#and how this self-matyrdom pulls at the fragile trust they have. because their partnership is never equal when someone is timelooping#i'm thinking in like the emma case this all comes to a head when emma gets the text from her parents#in S1 lg tells him âit's better not to lookâ#i think in this au. cxs would have already honed his acting skills and be like âlg. does she check the phone?â#and lg who is protective but a little naive and not as strict with rules is like#cxs looks so sad :( he's been missing his parents lately :( emma doesn't see the text until tomorrow but...#this probably won't change the timeline too much... right? i think cxs needs to feel loved right now :) âyes she checks her phoneâ#and cxs is like â... are you sure?â#lg: âyes i'm sureâ#and then post-dive cxs finds out emma dies but he doesn't tell lg :) he just keeps it to himself :)#bc it's his job to handle all the messy parts :) like the emotions of their clients. their regrets and obsessions. their fates#in his mind. the more lg knows the more he tries to sacrifice himself to save cxs. so it's important that lg is kept in the dark#something something actor/scriptwriter metaphors idk still working on the idea#just. role reversal shiguang... cxs who keeps timelooping bc he has abandonment issues so he can't handle lg dying...#lg basically is like 9S from nier automata who always dooms himself by learning the truth#this could've been a read more instead of a tag essay i'm sorry. i keep forgetting that feature. i am a yapper in the tags#cxs after dragging lg out for dinner so he doesn't catch the news: âhey lg. we followed the script to a tee right?â#âi didn't forget any lines or anything?â#lg (confused) (lying): âyes. aside from getting the financial data part. we did everything right.â#cxs: âokay đ i trust you đ past or future let them beâ

Me, an intellectual, scoffing at the theories for arcane s2 bc no one seems to understand the characters
#this is mostly a joke#mostly#but no seriously ive seen some rly stupid takes about how viktor will become the machine herald#yall treating him like he WANTS to continue fucking with the hexcore when he clearly says No Fuck That#man tries to destroy it and then asks Jayce to destroy *despite* the benefits the hexcore may have#so i don't think viktor would voluntarily fuck with it more unless theres like no other choice or forced/coerced to u know#also i dont think mel will die bc i remember one of the writers/directors saying we'll see more of her#not to mention framing at end of episode. sus#but if she does die then i guess i wouldn't be surprised if jayce becomes the stereotypical âgrr! revenge revenge!â manly man bc i dont have#high hopes for his writing but i hope im proven wrong đ#also not to mention the fact when jayce. you know. acted on that revenge need he killee and kid and immediately regretted it so.#not so sure how willing he is to do that again#arcane lol#pina talks#*whispers* idk if yall know this but usually it bad writing if you immediately revoke something you set up in the episode before

i finished five broken blades
#and.....six of crows has yet to be topped#it's funny how every time a pair of unlikely people have to be paired up for a dangerous mission it's alwayssss compared to soc#and the comparison just never holds up#i am so baffled that this is an adult book bc the writing style was incredibly juvenile. very repetitive. a lot of telling not showing#six of crows had better character work By Far. i really felt who each of those characters were. and i felt how they bonded over time#in this book it was like. there's a bubbly quirky girl and the author's attempts at making her so made me cringe#it was very heavy handed#i could see what she wanted each character to be like but the execution was just not it#there was a part halfway through after they all finally met up where something happened and they had to work together to save someone#and in each character's pov it was just like 'they'd killed and lied for each other' 'they were family beyond blood'#and i was like ??? that's it???? idk i never felt them growing closer to each other. it's like the author relied more on telling us rather#than showing it#and then the romance..... don't get me started on the romance it was so poorly done almost like insta-love???#there was just no time for the feelings to develop it happened so quickly#i wasn't impressed at all#and like. i guess my main problem is too much showing not enough telling#'i can't trust her' 'i can't trust him' 'no one around me can be trusted'#it was so repetitive like okay i get it!!! but i wanted to Feel it. i wanted to feel the messiness and ugliness of this distrust#'we killed and bled for one another'đđ#when they all met with each other halfway through i got excited like yessss it's going to be ugly and nasty now i need them to be Messy#esp since this is an adult book i was really looking forward to new levels of debauchery but it was So tame and vanilla????#sure they killed people but nothing was even remotely close to the level of when kaz plucked out that guy's eyeball :(#that was vicious. we all still remember that. i expected that in this book but no....#can't believe six of crows is ya and it's superior to this supposedly adult book#let me list the good things though. it ws a super fast read at 500 pages#and i had no problem distinguishing the 6 povs from each other#and the climax was thrilling my heart pounded all throughout
