Smeets are evolved or encoded with the mechanism to go limp when held by the head. Sort of like kittens, the idea is that when the "cold unfeeling robot arm" transports them, be it to a station for training or away from possible emergency situations, the smeets go limp to avoid trouble in transportation.

This could be a fun reason why Zim goes limp when he's picked up...

here’s a lil au I made cus I’m bored, Zim has a baby now! Yippee!! Another problem of his on earth-

A small rundown of the au, basically zim sorta cut connection with the irken empire after he realized he’s a joke so he just stayed on earth and discarded of his uniform yap yap yap- and he kinda forgot he had an experiment of his he had started months ago had finish, whoops.. during his mission, back when it was important- he tried cloning himself as a means to deal with dib from interfering with his plans, of course that took longer than expected.. now time has past and Zim had only then remembered of his small project of his when the computer notify’s him about it being “complete”. Of course, when seeing this said project, it wasn’t a full grown clone, but rather a small tiny smeet with the intelligence of a kitten.

He thought about just throwing it with the rest of his defective projects, but the smeet was determined to stick to his side like glue, no matter how much he tried, eventually he grew attached to the smeet and became rather affectionate, which was something he didn’t think was possible, but at least they’re defects together..

So yeah that’s pretty much it for now, I’ll probably add more storyline eventually, but it was just a tiny idea I wanted to draw out :D
