A night like any other in New Orleans was so lively. There was always jazz music playing and and drinks were kept filled. The pubs attracted all forms of life, from lowly criminals and whores, to high class navel officers. Among the colorful variety of people was one who wasn’t human, or rather had not been human in a very long time. Lestat was a vampire, an undead creature of the night but was oh so elegant. His attractiveness and classy arrogance gave a regal air about him, which made it all too easy to manipulate those who were drawn to him and feasted upon their blood.

That night he was entertaining himself by flirting with the whores who he had planned on picking one to take into the alleyway and drink from. But there were some other men who had caught his attention. From the looks off their uniforms, they looked to be some british naval officers. With Louisiana being predominantly french colonists, these men weren’t exactly welcomed. A few of the group were more than happy to squabble and drink but who seemed to be the commanding officer had seemed irritated and didn’t want conflict when he was just trying to enjoy his rum. 

This man ended eventually decided to get up from the table and exit the pub. Some of those trying to start trouble proceeded to follow. Lestat completely lost interest in his whore and quickly went to follow. He stayed in the shadows nearby to watch what goes down, pale blue eyes were completely invested in what went down. Those who left the pub to go after this naval had cornered him and started a fight. It was fascinating to watch but when it was clear that the officer was going to lose this fight Lestat stepped in.

In a flash he snatched away the attackers, promptly killing them and tossing their corpses into the sea. From James’ point of view from where he lay wounded in the sand with a stab wound in his side, it would appear that this beautiful blond man had just saved him. But that wasn’t entirely correct to assume. Lestat grabbed the helpless man from the ground by the collar of his jacket and brought him close to bite his neck and drink that delicious red liquid coursing through his veins.

He pulled his fangs away and licked his bloodstained lips. Something about this man mad him not want to finish him off.

“I’ll give you a choice that I never had. Do you wish to die and end this pain that you’re experiencing or would you like a new life?”
