Open Starter || Muse: Relta || V: Lionhearted

“If you shoot, I shall have to as well,” Relta stated confidently, raising her bow and arrow. They seemed to be unique, perhaps obtained in another country, unlike her possible opponents’ English bow.

“I do not wish to harm you or be harmed,” she added, taking one step toward the other, lowering her bow and arrow slowly, letting the string go loose as she did. She came off as cocky, but rather was simply trying to defuse the situation.

She’d already had to face one unfriendly face that day, Sir Guy of Gisborne, who had tried taking her head as he could easily recognize who she likely was the daughter of, King Richard, after his…vacation to the Holy Land. Now that she was known, she had to be more careful and stay out of villages to avoid endangering the people in them.

This is an RP blog inspired by Prince of Thieves, it is an RP blog specifically for Will Scarlet. I don’t take inspiration from anything other the 1991 Prince of Thieves adaptation but I am possibly open to crossovers - including crossovers with other adaptions of Robin as long as the people who want to do this kind of RP are ok with me taking my inspiration for my character solely from this 1991 blockbuster adaptation along with possibly my own headcannons for him.

I am semi-lit to advanced literate though since I like detail in rps I tend to prefer lit to advanced literate partners more, as this keeps me more enganged, also juts a pre warning if you want to tp with this blog there a a few things I wouldn’t be willing to shift on and I’ll list them below, as I am hoping to find rp partners who would be willing to accommodate this.

1. I would be playing Will Scarlet as significantly younger than the vast majority of the Robin Hood characters and even most other versions of Will Scarlet I have come across, like I’d be playing him as 19, just what I am most comfortable with, any other makes me uncomfortable with regards to this character as I just can’t see it.

2. For anyone who’s seen Robin Hood Prince of thieves, they’ll remember that in that movie Will Scarlet is Robin’s half-brother. A plot twist I personally really can get behind and love. It’s so cool I personally find it really cool, and I would prefer to keep it or at least agree on something regarding it.

It might surprise some to find that yoga actually helped quite a bit with one’s archery skills -- both through the strengthening of the various muscle groups and through improving one’s focus. It was why, every morning before class, Robyn headed up to the roof of her small, student filled apartment building to start the day with a “power flow” routine.

Laying her dark green mat out upon the concrete, she began with the mountain pose. Breathing deeply and working to clear her mind. To let everything else slip away. And it worked. For so deep in her routine was she, that she never even noticed the opening of the access door. Or the arrival of the other person...

Orion cleared his throat as he approached. “Hi uhm -” He sighed gently. “I just overheard that guy say he was going to the bathroom and was going to come back but you uh, you didn’t look like you were having a great time. Do you know that guy?” He quizzed, the tone of concern audible. “He was so busy staring at you that I don’t think he noticed me so uh - I know I’m just another guy you don’t know but you can pretend to know me. If you need to. Or I can back off.”

“You speak to me so familiarly. Do I know you?” Relta inquired, raising a slender yet sharp blade in defense of herself, suspicious of the other as they’d addressed her so informally. She’d been holed up in her mother’s home village for so many years, and had stayed in the woods for her travels to Nottingham, so she hadn’t met many people aside from Robin and his Merry Men, along with some nobles who had paid her no mind due to her attire.

Relta was the illegitimate daughter of the King of England, resembling him in only her coloring, otherwise looking more like Eleanor of Aquitaine — her grandmother. Long, wavy red hair, piercing emerald eyes, fair skin, and a trim stature that made her look statuesque despite her height, made her look royal, much to her detriment at times as some royals questioned who she was.

“If I do, I apologize, but I do not recognize you. Faces tend to blur after the years,” the last part was a lie, as Relta recalled every face she’d encountered since childhood, only wishing she knew her father’s face — if her mother’s story about her lineage was true, of course.

Relta was “old” for a maiden, so being alone was dangerous for her, but with her weapons training and knowledge of herbs, she could fend for herself if not outnumbered. She had a blade customized for her that had been gifted to her prior to her leaving for Nottingham and Locksley, which had served her well.

Júan allows his mind to wander as he walks down the street, a hand in his pocket fiddling with the wad of cash he'd shoved there. This wasn't the best part of town, granted, but he knew that. He had grown up in a place just like this. Admittedly, he was also one of the more dangerous things walking the streets this late at night. What's more, he had people not far behind who would help him at the drop of a hat.

But, no. He did not need help.

In fact, the person following him - and he had followed him down the alleyway now - was no less a threat to him than any normal person was. Which is why he was leant back against the wall waiting for them a few feet ahead, brow cooked and a cocky smile on his face.

"Is there a reason why you are following me? Or am I just that interesting?"
