Erik had been through rigorous trials in order to become a guard for the royal family. The odds we're pressed against him as he was from a family of hunters and farmers unlike others who enlisted. He was surprised when not only had he been assigned to the guard, but to be a personal guard to the princess, Lady Marian. He set out to the castle at once to greet the family and set up his new quarters.

Hey! This absolutely might be a weird question, but I saw your character bios and I was wondering if you actually roleplay from some of the shows you write for, or are those mostly just to share about favorite characters? I absolutely adore your blog, by the way!

I actually do. I haven’t done so lately because I’ve been forgetting about my roleplay blogs (whoops, darn my easily distracted mind), but I do actually roleplay or have role-played some of them. 

I use to roleplay Romana and my OC Time Lady, The Fighter in the past. I also briefly made a Sigyn rp in the past, but deleted it.

 I think I might bring it back sometime soon and give it a shot again. 

I briefly role-played Padme back then, but forgot about my account. 

I do have Marian and Guy roleplay blogs : @ofnightwatchman & @ofgisborne Obviously I’m not super duper active on them, but I’m trying to fix that. 

I use to have a multi-classic who roleplay blog back then, but deleted that too.

BIOGRAPHY.

was born on april 10th, 1991 to franklin and marian barlow, their second child and first daughter. grew up in york, pennsylvania until she was eleven and her parents decided to move to mapleview due to being closer to other relatives. though she now lives on fair lane, she used to live on sycamore way up until she moved out. her father was a dentist and her mother a teacher, two paths she never wanted to follow, despite their encouragement. as a family, they were never incredibly close -- her father had quite the temper and three years after moving to mapleview, her mother had an affair. it was the talk of the town and nora, nor her siblings, could escape the gossip. her parents soon divorced and life was never the same after that.

more than anything, nora and her siblings fought. the divorce split them onto sides and their clashing personalities never had peace between them for too long. her brother was too much like her father and her sister never had a nice thing to say. still, when it came to others, nora protected them fiercely and when push came to shove, she always had their back, even if the feeling wasn’t mutual.

as a child, in an environment that made it seem like there was a side to choose, nora chose her father. it was good that she had, as she and her siblings spent their weekdays with him in his two bedroom apartment. the constant bickering and fighting grew worse as they got older, many arguments turning physical or ending up with something broken. nora always tried to be the mediator, but nothing could ever calm anyone down once they’d been riled up. instead, she filled her high school years with clubs and as many friends as she could, keeping herself out of the apartment, always busy.

nora was sixteen when her mother passed away. tragic car accident. the two hadn’t spoken in nearly a year and at first, nora was numb. she was grateful for it, especially when the guilt came next and it never left. her siblings hated how emotionless she was with their mother’s passing, at the funeral, in the days after. it wasn’t that she hadn’t cared, but that everything hit her a week later, once she was alone in her bedroom. there are many reasons nora hates being alone with her thoughts, but her mother’s death was the start of that. it’s also one of the contributors to why she prefers to keep busy.

she distanced herself from her siblings and her father, never quite being as open with them as she once was. nora took a part time job at her dad’s office, working there for a few years until she graduated. with the inheritance from her mother and scholarships, nora was able to leave mapleview for college. she wanted a fresh start and in her mind, she never planned to return to mapleview. nora went to college out west and majored in business administration with the hopes of starting her own business in... whatever made her happy. meanwhile her father’s business closed and he was forced to retire.

after graduating, she planned to follow where business opportunities would take her. all that crumbled when she got a phone call that her father was in the hospital. he’d had a heart attack and nora was terrified that if she lost her dad, the overwhelming guilt she’d felt with her mother would come back. out of her own selfish reasons, she returned to mapleview. her father recovered with surgery, but was never quite the same. his health was declining and doctors were able to determine he had early onset alzheimer's. nora made it her responsibility to come home and take care of her dad, getting a job at the local pet shop while she did. the money she’d been saving up went to a day nurse for her father. he was family, after all.

years passed. when she was twenty four, she met adrien. his charming personality was evident from their first conversation and while it didn’t take much for nora to be smitten with him, she definitely made him work for it. soon after, they started dating, and they’ve been together ever since. with adrien’s job and the both of them being focused on their careers, a future was something far off in the distance. marriage, kids... they’d briefly spoken about it, but left the conversation for down the road. it was never a question that she wanted to be with adrien, but the idea of a family scared her. she wasn’t sure if she’d be a good mom and the unknown was something she didn’t know she could come to terms with. that was, until she got really sick one morning and decided to take a pregnancy test. the positive terrified her at first, knowing they had wanted to wait and that there was no way they were ready... but seeing adrien’s response and thinking about the future definitely got her excited. now her pinterest is full of “nursery ideas” and “first time mom tips”.

it was a year after she met adrien that she became the owner of her own pet store. the place was local, owned by an elderly woman that treated nora like the loving mother she’d always wanted. they both bonded over the years and when she decided she’d be retiring to florida with her husband, she wanted nora to have the business. even as assistant manager, nora couldn’t possibly accept... but then the deed was being put in her name and she jumped at the opportunity. a local place that sells pet supplies and occasionally takes in surrendered pets to care for/find loving homes for.

and that all brings us up to present time ! nora has been pregnant nearly a month at this point, owns and works in her own pet store ( which will have a name soon enough ), and just really loves being back in mapleview. she missed it, she really did. she’s excited for this new path and what the future will bring her for the first time in... well, for the first time ever, really.

i’ve decided to do a 1x1 search for potential partners!

the shortlist of it is that i’d like to only play f/f ships; i prefer using original characters, and i would like my partner to be over 18 (not for any smutty reasons; i’m 22 and i want to rp with people of similar maturity level.)

fun stuff under the cut! 

first: i don’t have any pre-made characters, but would prefer to start fresh with each rp and each new partner. that said, i don’t mind if you use a well-loved muse of your own. if you have preferences for FCs to play opposite, i’ll take them into consideration, but no promises!

some plots have suggested personality traits for different characters; feel free to take these and run with them, or adjust accordingly.

preference scale: * - i want; ** - i really want; *** - i’ll marry you if you play this with me, seriously. 

*** gothic romance (historical period): character a arrives, for some reason (perhaps for work, at the request of a family member, etc,) at an old manor, only to find that the place has an eerie air to it. floorboards squeak, windows fling themselves open, and she swears she can hear footsteps and voices coming from empty rooms. she has a feeling that character b, a young heiress and lady of the house, knows more than she lets on. character a is youthful, brave, bright, stubborn, and perhaps somewhat naive; character b is quiet and reserved, somewhat austere, lonely, and brooding yet gentle. the two women find themselves drawn to one another and together will grapple with a deep secret and a family mystery. (plot specifics aren’t filled in; i would love to have someone plot it out with me! i would prefer to play character b, but could be willing to change my mind!)

** f/f take on robin hood: characters can be character a as robin hood and character b as maid marian, or can shake it up and have character b as a knight/bounty hunter/etc. this one could have great opportunity for comedy of mistaken identities (ie, marian not realizing character a and robin hood are the same person; character a/robin hood not realizing that the girl she has taken a shine to is actually a bounty hunter out to get her, etc.) as well as some angst later on.

** fantasy: of any sort; i’m a huge fantasy fan; let’s plot something together! high fantasy centered on a relationship between two women, but with other plot elements. so many possibilities; queen x queen, queen x knight, knight x knight, rogue x thief, etc. also open to fairytale adaptations & modern/urban fantasy.

slasher parody: something that, along the lines of scream squeens + slasher films, parody the conventions of the horror genre. characters a and b are the last two girls left standing when a night of college shenanigans turns into a terrifying nightmare. i’d like the tone of this one to blend some humor with some drama-- it is, after all, a parody. no character specifications; i was thinking perhaps characters could be opposites, but who knows. (tw blood/violence, probably. not a huge gore fan myself, but.... it is slasher genre.)

* science fiction: i am a huge fan of sci-fi, but be warned - it’s probably going to be ‘soft scifi’ and i will probably definitely fudge some scientific concepts. concepts include: good ol’ space opera, with characters gallivanting off through space; something testing the limits of artificial intelligence, alien life, etc.

apocalypse/post-apocalypse: two characters trying to navigate survival during or after the end of the world. please no zombie apocalypse stories. 

honestly if you come to me with any concept and you go “okay this...... but with TWO GIRLS,” I’ll probably love it.

My Opinion on;

Character in general: Marian, Marian, Marian. Where do I even start? Apart from the fact that I am in love with her lady abs, I think my favorite part of her is her internal monologue. It’s honestly fascinating to see how her mind works, how certain topics and happenings in the setting translate to old memories or ideas. The way her mind works and her train of thought chugs along is just so relatable, to me, and I love it. I also really appreciate the sarcastic commentary from her. I feel sarcasm can actually be hard to write in a way where it actually reads as sarcastic and not just as rude, and I think you seriously nail it. Also I have a soft spot for brutally honest characters because I love seeing the way people react to them and, again, I think this is a trait that’s portrayal you have really solid.How they play them: Excellently! Marian has been so much fun to write with, and I have sincerely loved and laughed so much at seeing how she reacts to my dumb child. I love the way the mun writes, and I think they do such a fantastic job of portraying her feelings and thoughts in a way that really elicits emotions from the reader (like right down to the way they format it), which I think is just super cool.The Mun: We haven’t talked too much but every interaction we have had, they have been so incredibly sweet! Like honest to god I think we spent an entire conversation just complimenting each other and screaming lol

Overall Opinion: Muse is a wonderful take on Marian and just overall wonderful to interact with, with a personality that presents plenty of possibilities for fun.
