I ended up getting on a roll, apologies, so I put this under a read-more ^^;;;

It depends on the character for sure! I usually end up really vibing with a concept i want to build around, like a personality archetype or a story element. Usually this is a pretty generic concept, and then I build out the rest of the OC, trying to understand their place in the world and how the life they've lived has affected who they are, and make it more personal to me so I get attached.

Caelan for example, is a fae prince who was raised as a weapon by his family during a war, due to his abilities and how intense his magic is-- he was hunting the enemy prince down, had him cornered in a fight, when the ground falls apart beneath them and they're pulled underground-- deep into webbed catacombs, where they're hunted by a monster over and over again. His whole concept was basically born from the desire to play with the idea 'character trapped in a maze being hunted by a creature'. Which--- was initially a concept i started playing with because of a song about the ghosts in pacman being trapped in the game and eaten by pacman xD

I think the main exception to this style of creation for me is Artair, which I'm sure you were asking about! So I apologize ahead of time for the tangent incoming xD

My very first character I ever rped online was Arthur from Mystery Skulls Animated, which was a collection of music videos following a plot revolving around four main characters dealing with the supernatural, set to indie artist Mystery Skulls' songs. But the thing was, MSA only gave us the vaguest details about the characters when the first video came out, which is when I started writing him. The most we knew about Arthur was that he had been possessed and forced to kill a teammate, and that he lost his arm to an animal teammate that seemed to stop the possession. Also that he was kinda like-- a fraidy cat? MSA was basically a parody of Scooby Doo with a twist, so he was a little like a yellow shaggy lol.

But yeah, it was actually really cool because every version of the same character was so wildly different, because it was so vague that there was so much room for interpretation! We weren't sure how well the group knew each other except that they were on the same team, we were only given blood types to determine personality, we didn't even know if the animal teammate spoke to the team-- even things like how they grew up or where they were or family dynamics were up in the air at the time. When his uncle was revealed soon after the video, I wrote Arthur as growing up with him after his own parents passed, but there were dozens of interpretations-- some where Arthur only came to live with him as an adult, or an older kid, with details ranging from his family was bad news, passed, or just too busy to look after him. One of the characters didn't have a last name for years. It was all kinda just--- free real estate lol.

So over the course of a decade I wrote him, i built out every detail about Arthur, including stuff like his history/backstory, his relationships, his abilities, his personality beyond the fearfulness-- even some details about the events that were canon. Over time as I was writing him, he changed personalities in a lot of major ways too, as storylines from rps and events happened while writing him. He changed, for better and worse, and the things I focused on more were less and less aligned with canon. I started experimenting with ideas and concepts i really liked too, especially ones like him being a medium, which then further deviated into eldritch/celestial/fae stuff, since I always had a deep interest in those kinds of beings. But that only continued to take him further and further from anything resembling MSA lol.

And I guess at some point a few years ago, i realized he was basically an OC, but with a canon coat of paint?

Soooo I basically took him and gave him a redesign and overhaul to make him an OC. I kept some elements i loved of Arthur that drew me to him in the first place, but I tried to get away from his original design as much as I could without making him feel too different to my brain. I kept a version of events similar to the first video, due to how formative they were, but everything else pretty much got chucked out. The rest I kept was heavily altered if it wasn't reliant on my own headcanons already.

The only other thing I kept was kind of keeping his name similar. I kept Arthur as a name he used for a while growing up due to kids being mean about 'weird' names, which he still uses as a safety precaution with people/fae, since so much of his history he was known by it. Then I gave him a scots version as his official legal name, since I had headcanoned Arthur was directly scottish anyways and would likely pick it, with the headcanon that as Artair got older he stopped caring what people thought of his name and started going by the one he chose. It was different enough to feel i was separating him from MSA, but close enough that it didn't feel wrong when I was so attached to 'Arthur' as his name for a decade (part of my initial attachment to him was connection to Arthur as a name and him being the color yellow, whoops)

But yeah! Overall for me, it's just about interesting or fun narrative concepts. And then there's Artair being the one canon guy who got hit with extreme OC-ification beams over time xD

At some point over the last 6 or so years, I have written some spiel or other about my main RP characters on their respective blogs. They were focused on answering the questions ‘How did this character come about?’ and ‘What was the inspiration behind them?’

I never went in depth about this one aside from a more self-indulgent than usual gush about her when I finally completed the druid class hall campaign during Legion. Back then, I said that she’d never become an RP main. She hadn’t been a content main since early MoP.

Like many players who are bringing their druid characters back for the 10.2 patch, I suppose I have resumed picking her up to play the game again. But since earlier this year, I have also started to take her IC again after many years, and give her another chance at actual RP.

I have been RPing for a solid 12+years at this point. I can count on one hand the number of times I have actually taken Nara out to interact with other player characters. This was always at the request of people I knew. My mage was the first character I RPed, but my druid was The Prime. Nara’enil was my character when I started playing WoW.

There are a few reasons I never focused on her for RP. One was that I loved my blood elves and I had a lot of meaningful RP on them. Time was a luxury that I did not have to focus on a totally different character in a different community. When I decided to explore a different avenue of RP with my RP friends, we turned to troll, and Nara became a Darkspear druid.

I didn’t commit to Alliance side RP until late Legion to BfA. The years preceding that were entirely spent on Horde, whichever characters I chose to RP, and I had (and still have, even if shelved) a plethora in my roster. The troll became a tauren, and finally in Legion, she returned to being a night elf once more.

I never felt I needed an RP community or other RPers to be able to tell Nara’enil’s story. The scant few times I’ve taken her IC have always been for other people. Each time I’ve changed her concept a little, just to make her more lore correct and to fit in with the other PCs’ stories. The sad thing was that they never progressed at all.

Though I’ve taken her IC more times this year than I did over the previous 12, I didn’t feel comfortable. It was, as I look back in retrospect, due to my changing a significant part of her personal backstory yet again to suit someone else’s character. After that character’s RPer decided to change that without consulting me - something that I was upset over - I surprisingly felt better reinstating that which I removed, and she felt whole again as a concept. It was as if this was what she was supposed to be, and not a someone that could be tweaked according to other people’s whims.

I went into detail before when I mused on the truth behind the characters I mained in my RP history, but they could all be summarised in this answer to a question in the guild I am in on another character:

My answer:

I have a variety of chars over the years and are mostly a result, consciously or subconsciously, of:

1. Lack of bloody control of my real life things like WORK and STUPID PEOPLE (thanks NHS). So my first OC that I actually rped was a belf magistrix who TAKES ZERO SHITS and will tell it like it is. Like House MD.

2. My being chronically low key or at times high key unhappy IRL so I made characters who are easy going and live/let live. For eg, my orc warrior who is exactly like that. Simple life simple goals, like slaughtering quillboar and evil asshats, and then going home and looking after her wolf.

Most of my chars are some variation of these two for balance. Can’t rp a moody char all the time so I need to balance it out with a chill one.

3. Atypical paladin archetypes, born from a goddman desire to do some damn good for people, regardless of the circumstances and how goddamn HARD it is. (Thanks NHS). Also a way to explore the ways you can have a purpose in life that’s not associated with reverence or belief in anything “divine”.

RPing these archetypes came at a time when I needed to process my own healing journey from depression and all the Emotional Baggage that came with it. I think these have been my favourite chars looking at my record. There’s always some aspect or other creeping into non paladin chars of mine.

What is interesting is that over the years, the types of characters I played also slowly progressed in this manner, from the aloof and serious, to the more laid back, to attempts to find a light in the darkness and the hope to carry on through the worst moments of my life.

I play two characters concurrently now. My gnome mage does not have an RP blog but she is my go to for IC interactions as she belongs in a guild. She is also the chill character to balance out Nara’enil, whom I have had some RP only with people I know, because I still haven’t been comfortable interacting with the rest of the community.

As I quietly processed the aftermath of the latest retcon, I slowly understood why Nara’enil took shape the way she did, and settled into the character she is: I want to explore what it is like to sit with sadness. Without the stoic heroism of trying to battle it with staunch belief or principle or inner strength, like I did with my paladin characters.

ACT is something that has done more world of good for me than anything else in my healing journey. It’s not always possible to soldier on and force yourself to carry the beacon of hope. Because if you’re always trying not to feel the sadness, then the sadness will always be there chasing you. Sometimes you just need to stop running away and sit down with it. Feel it without indulging it - instead be curious about it.

And then you let it go.

Grief is an emotion that cannot be pushed away at will. It is something that needs to be felt in all of its stages. Whether they come in the classic textbook manner, or whether they come all at once or completely out of order. No two people grieve the same, but everyone needs to feel it and go through it in order to move on.

Ultimately, grief is a form of love. If there is no love lost, then grief would not exist in the first place. The analogy of it being a ball in a box is perfectly true in describing its imperfect nature. How the pain of it is triggered by that one button in the box whenever the ball strikes it, and the pain intensity doesn’t diminish - it’s the ball that grows smaller with time, support, and love both from other people as well as from yourself. It grows smaller with healing.

Sitting and feeling awful emotions. Acknowledging them. Understanding where they come from and why. These are things that are part of an ongoing journey of healing. Sometimes you end up pushing people away and choosing to be alone. Sometimes it’s learning that not everyone grows with you. Sometimes it’s learning that you are not alone and that there are people who do love you and are there for you. Sometimes it’s the process of learning all or one or some of these hard truths. Sometimes it’s learning that you’re not the person you used to be, and you have to discover who that is after a lifetime of being someone else.

At this stage, after so many years of RP, I have come full circle in realising that sometimes the best stories don’t always have to come in collaboration with others. Sometimes the best stories are the ones that you tell on your own, because they are just as precious and significant to you, even if they are not for anyone else including those whom you collaborated with. That’s important too, no?

   Howdy @emptyvictory! This is a long overdue shoutout to you (That probably won’t allow me to cover everything I want to say, but I will try as always LOL), old sport. I took one look at that url meme and was like “FRIG IT, I wanna do a little more than that for them!” and so here we are. I’m super sorry for the longer wait, but also thank you for your patience and ofc... for giving me the opportunity to even write this out. c: 

   So yes, let’s get started already!

   To begin, let’s talk about you as a writer. For all the talent that you possess, one of the things that I love the most about you is your humility, Rory. You are honestly one of the most amazing writing partners that I could ever be blessed to meet, and it’s clear how much heart you put into every written piece that you do. You always bless your writing partners, alway make them feel so appreciated by all that you offer from you end of things, especially when it comes to all those fabulous relationships , yessire. And so it hurts my heart when I do see you beat yourself up every now and then, when you go through those days especially (As much as I do understand). But I can’t tell you enough how quickly I will sit up and glue my eyes onto my phone or laptop screen with wide eyes-- the moment I see something new from you. The number of times I yell and squeal when you answer something from me, like oh my gooooosh!!!

   You just have such a gift when it comes to writing and developing already these complex and multifaceted characters. Skilfully adding your own-- shall we say-- spices? And giving them even more flavour than they already happen have. This especially can be seen through your Arthur Morgan, John Seed and Niko Bellic. Though honestly, the said can be said for so many of your muses (Including the ones that unfortunately spent a shorter time on here than others did). I always wish I could write out so well thought out headcanons like you do, but just catch me here quietly admiring it all from my side as always. 

   And honestly, you are the reason I have come to appreciate so many characters that I never thought I ever would, which is another thing that I ABSOLUTELY love when it comes to writing with an amazing RP pardner like yourself. I can’t count the number of times I would go “*Insert Character Rory Has RPed* is one of my faves.” Like catch me here forever holding up a Sigurd flag now and waving it in the air, thanks to you, eheheh. Seriously, I will never be of any help to you if you even come to me about new muses, other than support you 100%, of course. I will simply be here telling you to do it already, and ask when I can interact with that character. Because I just know you will KILL IT as that character, no matter who they are. For you can play any character your heart desires, Rory. And any character is blessed when they are taken under your wing for development.   

   Honestly, knowing such a talented individual like yourself has always made me wonder what I even did to deserve you at times, you know? At times it makes me fear that I’m not contributing enough from my side as a writing partner... but on the other hand, I also just get so inspired and get all the more determined by you. So that we may create even more amazing relationships together with our muses! You truly have blessed me as a writing partner, and have given my snow child especially some of the most amazing relationships she could ever dare to dream of. Again, Arthur is honestly the only one that had officially adopted her after all these years. The only one that actually bothered to do the darn paperwork, LOL! And that’s something that means so much to me awuehauw!!! You know I love them, and honestly I hadn’t expected to get where we are, when you had first decided to write him. So here you are, once again catching me off guard and blessing me yet again with such an amazing father and daughter relationship, that has so much thought put into over these past years. 😭

   And despite your worries, I can’t tell you enough how much I love Itsuki and Niko’s relationship. Again, he doesn’t need to be overly affectionate (Which would just be weird, if not creepy, honestly) towards her to show that he cares for her? This man’s actions have already spoken so much louder than words ever could especially. After all, he has always bothered humoring her despite the silly, almost pointless conversations that she gets him into. And the fact that he had even bothered to get her a birthday present, those darn sunglasses and of course-- try his best to help her during that one terrifying moment just make me go... AAAAAAAAAAAA. (I know that just sounds like that one giant yelling fish in the Spongebob olympics episode but please imagine it with more emotion and torment auwehawu)

   Honestly, if I lived next door to you, I would be passing by your window like Ned Flanders each and every day going “Hidely ho neighborino, I’m so gosh darn proudi-diddely of ya!” You go through so so much, and have also overcome so, so much. You are in fact one of the strongest individuals I have ever known, Rory. And we all see that, pal, don’t even think any of it goes unnoticed by us. Because we are always over here cheering you on from our end. There is just so much placed upon your shoulders, so much that I see you just taking a deep breath and braving through, each and every time. And lord that takes so, so much strength that will forever amaze me, when it comes to you. Late 30′s, chronically ill but still working adult with neurodivergence. I’m both busy and Busy, and always sick. This limits my brain power and ability to be here. Do I come off as a horrible, strict asshole? I do! I’m not going to say that I am just a shy bean who is more scared of you than you are me. I’m not. I’m honestly feral, but have common decency, compassion, and sense. All of which are lacking in the general RPC. I have no preference. As long as it’s a cool character that I think would be fun to write with, I don’t care what gender a muse is. I’ve had more bad experiences with female muses, but it hasn’t affected my desire to write with them.

Three things about the rpc that bothers me... 1. The trend of putting lots of spaces between words in replies. I can’t read that. 2. For twd rpc, the lack of variety of characters to write with (this isn’t anyone’s fault, but I miss the days when it was more active and we had more of the characters being written.) 3. This is a personal preferences and there’s nothing wrong with them but multimuse blogs with like 50+ muses bother me. I can’t justify following a blog for just one or two muses when it means filling my dash with content from dozens of other fandoms I’m not interested in.

I wish I knew not to take RP so seriously, and that it’s not worth the stress or drama or anything else I put myself through in the first couple years I RPed.

I’ve felt somewhat pressured to write things a few times. Especially when I was newer, I felt pressure to write things I wasn’t interested in or wasn’t sure of because I didn’t know how to say no, and didn’t want to upset the other person (especially if they were a friend.) There’s also those ask memes that are like, “send a symbol for my muse to react to yours doing an action,” where I’ve been sent the reverse so my muse had to do it to theirs instead, and it’d be something I could never see my muse doing to them but I felt like I needed to answer it anyway.

Advice to someone new to RP: try not to compare yourself to others. Don’t worry about what others are doing, or what the current trends are. As long as you’re having fun and your writing partners are having fun, that’s all that matters.

Hiya you don't know personally but I wanted to thank you for the heads up regarding Tasha through a mutual friend. I feel I majorly dodged a bullet there, lol. I unfollowed her and blocked her after she brought one of my followers to a rbp and she just keeps following on other blogs. :-/ but anyway thanks. there should be a callout post about her and her fake fan club tbqh.

Well I’m glad you saw the light on that one. Tasha IS very manipulative and hurt me and one of my best friends. I don’t believe in callout posts, I think most of them are made to draw attention to one’s self, and personally I don’t like to make a reputation out of bringing someone down.

But yeah, Tasha has so so many red flags and we were too open and friendly to see them. I think the biggest ones are:

She assumes plot points without consulting you first ( Her muses kept antagonizing mine and another friend’s God muse, even when our muses had done nothing to theirs, solely for the sake of keeping her muses on the high ground)

She doesn’t respect when other people have mains. Me and my friends had to create an entire Out Of Character plot point for her muses to fit our narrative because she thought she was our main when she had never plotted this with us (even when we specified it SEVERAL times)

She manipulates people into creating muses for her, especially muses that fit her own personal desires like: muses with a faceclaim that has a romantic involvement with her muse’s FC. She specially goes for people who know are prone to creating muses here and there to please other partners.

We made the mistake of bringing her to our RP server and she kept bringing people we didn’t even know without consulting with any of the mods or even checking if we were mutuals with these people???

Sidenote to that one: since me and the mods put up a warning about doing that, she created a server that was IDENTICAL from ours and kept stealing the skelleton of our RP.

Sidenote 2 on that: If you rped in her server, you’d have to follow her rules and she’d have to approve on your headcanons, otherwise she would get SUPER UPSET and bully the person into dropping that headcanon so fear of her never rping with you lmao

There are many other things, specific situations that were like “yikes” like how one of her partners is keen on bringing up heavy subjects like violence, miscarriage, abuse, death, etc. (and this one person was also a piece of work, kept trying to force people into being their friend and force them to rp with them and guilt trip you if you didn’t, saying they’d kill themselves and throwing tantrums) and she went along with it “for the sake of the plot” without thinking how it would affect the people that were obligued to see that situation in her server or how would they feel about it.

like, it’s no surprive we all left her server after that, me and my mains we’re better off on our own without her bullshit, and I hope people are seeing her for what it is without having to endure all the shit we had to.

ROLEPLAYING HISTORY: i first roleplayed 5000 years ago on gaiaonline when i was like. 13, 14 or so. those were all OC roleplays that usually required me to create an OC almost on the spot lmao. fast forward like ten years later, and i impulsively began talking to a fellow kfp fan from tumblr about a story they had in mind, and we RPed a little on skype, and uh. well, that basically led to me creating my first RP blog here on tumblr :o the idea had crossed my mind before when i was still in a different fandom, because ask blogs were Very popular in that fandom and i fell headfirst into following All of them lmao but i ended up getting into RPing more so than ask blogs shrugs

FAVOURITE GENRES: stORY THREADS...... i’m so gd soft for characters telling stories to each other and i so rarely get to write them lies down. i also love comedy bc i’ve always gravitated toward the lighthearted, dumb stuff lmao i enjoy making people laugh that said, i’m also a sucker for those good, good argument/debate threads, which i haven’t gotten the opportunity to write in a little while. shen is usually the go-to muse for that bc he’s. Himself. but roh is also sometimes hit with them, aha i also love threads that take place in very surreal or dreamlike settings, but i haven’t done one of those in an extremely long time

But Undyne... sweet violent Undyne’s very important to Undertale’s story! *fangirling START* Besides being the mid-point antagonist in the game, Undyne adds a layer of the theme of DETERMINATION to the game and how it can manifest in monsters if their bodies are strong enough to handle it. In an allegorical sense, she represents extremism in reaction to oppression and how that passion can take on the form of extreme love or extreme hatred depending on circumstance. So HELL YEAH she’s important to the main story of the game! AAAHILoveThisFish!! *fangirling END* ]]

Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [[ Same as the previous answer for my teen Undyne: begrudgingly marking this with a ‘no’... It’s a YES for canon Undyne. In all routes, original game’s Undyne is the first character who is purposefully trying to kill the Player. Players can’t get the best ending without helping her hook up with Alphys and not incurring her wrath by killing any monster. In the worst ending, she’s one of the two antagonists that put up enough of a fight to make any player abort the Genocide Route. ]]

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO [[ My muse WANTS to be significant to her world. In the original game, Undyne’s only mentioned by others in Snowdin and Waterfall (not counting Alphys in Hotland). She’s described as a “local hero” by Gerson. I get a sense she’s not exactly famous to the people in the entire Underground compared to, say, Mettaton. ]]

How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL [[ Oof. Pretty sure my teen fish annoys the residence of Waterfall for being a loud-mouthed little scamp. The only reason she’s not considered ‘bad’ is because it’s pent-up energy and misguidedness, not flat-out cruelty. In canon, it seems like the people who talk about Undyne do it in either a positive or neutral light. You have Monster Kid, Papyrus, and Onionsan singing her praises. The Royal Guard members respect her. Asgore thought of her well enough to have her lead his military. Uhh, for a neutral instance, I remember an NPC in Snowdin saying she’s “loud, rude, and beats up anybody who gets in her way” (I don’t remember the exact quote). To weigh this more on the side of my muse, I’ll mark this answer as ‘neutral.’ ]]

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?  [[ Since I have an aged-down character, canon is literally my END GOAL! I gave her a “starting point” on her journey to the determined, dedicated, and excitable warrior fish we all know and love from the game. I filled in the gaps from there, using parts of her past mentioned in the game to glue the headcanons together. Deciding what she was like when she was younger – What’s her family background? What aspects about her changed as she matures? What internal and external conflicts would she deal with as a teen? – THAT’S the non-canon part. My Deltarune AUs are… different. Canon is my end goal too, but the timelines are all wonky to fit the needs of wanting to interact with the Fun Gang. LOL ]]

Questions for mun

5. What is the most difficult thing about writing your current muse?

[I don’t know exactly... Since I enjoy writing characters like Yomiel, with sad, tragic backstories and psycological issues, I think I already have some experience writing this kind of character. What I think is a bit challenging is writing Shard because I haven’t written him much on this blog and haven’t had many threads with him. What I think is challenging about him is his constant anger and desire for revenge and to hurt others because I always feel bad about the poor soul he is messing with! But I think this just means I’m doing a good job with him? Idk!]

11. When did you start roleplaying?

[I think it was in 2012, if my memory is clear enough lol. I started rping a character from a Dragon Ball webcomic called Dragon Ball Multiverse, an alternate version of Bra (Bulla) and I joined a big Dragon Ball RP group at the time. ]

12. Have you roleplayed anywhere other than tumblr?

[Yes! In a site called Ask.fm. We only RPed there with other brazilians so all my RPing there was in portuguese. I was a part of a big Dragon Ball group at the time but soon other characters from other fandoms joined in too and we even had a Game Master who was conducting our adventures, creating bosses for us to defeat and Character Arcs. It was a very good time and I had lots of fun and I made some good friends too! I miss it dearly.]

happy #rkfifth ! PT. 1

so, i’ve finally found some time to get around to this! rkfifth is a big thing for me, so i definitely wanted to write something for it!

i first joined rookies back at the very end of 2015 with rkjaehyung. he was a pet shop worker who managed to hit it off with a lot of people really quickly, but sadly he didn’t last long, and was soon replaced by a muse i still hold very close to my heart despite him not surviving long either. that muse was rkhansol/solrk. he was my first dancer muse who, in all honesty, wasn’t very nice to begin with. it took a special friend (rkbyxngjoo) to loosen him up and make him a lot less cold towards people he didn’t know. sadly, having been hit really hard by his first failure after trying to get signed, and rkbjoo’s departure, i let him go, and subsequently took a break from rp for a few months.

when i returned, i came back with rkhyukkie. he was another muse i cherished a lot (which was clear from how many times i brought him back over the years). to this day i still somewhat miss him, and have to stop myself from throwing everything away to bring him back. he started out as a playful, witty, and genuinely surprising (for me) at how he changed from me thinking him up, to him actually interacting with people. he fell in love, but he ended up being dropped too, then brought back a few months later, and once again didn’t last long. i realised there was something off with him, that kept me from finding a comfy way of writing him, to keep him a stable muse, so i left him alone for a while. 

after him, i had multiple muses, i also brought back rkhansol, who was now solrk. he was nicer, having been living life peacefully pursuing dance in the months i hadn’t rped him. he was still in love, and still living in a dingy little apartment though, but this time he managed to snag the boy, and eventually decided he’d rather not be an idol, but simply stick to dancing in other ways, so that he could have a more peaceful life with his boyfriend. 

after this point my memory gets hazy and i know i had rkshiah (who may have been before solrk but im super unsure on this one) for a while somewhere, but she didn’t have as much impact on me as minhyuk and hansol had. 

then comes december 7th of 2016, and this is where something frankly miraculous happened. tenrk was born. i’d been a very casual fan on nct since they debuted in april of that year, but hadn’t gotten truly deep into stanning them. on a whim i thought ‘hey this guys cute, i’ll rp him and see how it goes!’. i had no idea at that time that tenrk would become something so special to me. he started out very different. he was sarcastic, and liked to tease people. he liked sports, and was more creative than charismatic, but after i started stanning irl ten, tenrk became heavily influenced by him (without me even trying). he softened up a lot, and his attention moved away from creativity, and he became less of a cheeky, annoying teen boy, and more of a tender, sweet young man who loved nothing more than dancing and his friends. 

throughout 2017 i had multiple muses, all of whom i cannot remember (i’m so sorry to all of them). none lived long, because beside tenrk, none of them could really stand up to how important he was to me and how much i enjoyed writing him. towards the end of 2017 i had dahyunrk and rkdaniel, but later dropped dahyun and swapped daniel out for rkhyuk.

now, to this day i still adore rkhyuk, who was a more mature, calm version of rkhyukkie. in a way, he was rkhyukkie, but with a few changes in his past. he lasted quite a while, which was rather surprising to me after how rkhyukkie didn’t hold up well, but rkhyuk, sadly, went through multiple heartbreaks in his time here. people he cared about leaving took a toll on him and eventually he became lonely, and being an idol just wasn’t what he wanted anymore. he tried his hand in the mgas, but it only solidified for him how he didn’t care much for performing anymore. whether it was due to the sadness he was battling with, or him just having grown out of his desire to be an idol, i’m still not sure, but i do know i still miss him, and i still want to rework him as a muse and if possible bring him back one day to try and get him that happily ever after he always dreamed of. 

during the time i had rkhyuk lucas debuted, and as adamant as i was about not falling for someone so loud and seemingly heterosexual (lol im sorry down with the hets bois), his soft side quickly showed, and i fell for the tall goofball. yukheirk was born on march 7th 2018. he was one of those muses who seemed to hit it off well with people to begin with (though that died down a lot later on sadly). he was that typical hetero ‘no homo bro’ type guy, which was really just him hiding a deep fear for his suspected bisexuality. 

yukheirk went through a lot in only his first few months here. he dated two girls, kissed na jaemin (sorry donghyuck), had a sexual awakening and feel in love, all before his horrible accident that ended his skating career. he became rkxuxi after adopting the nickname sicheng called him as his official name, since the name he chose for his skating career, lucas, now brought only bad memories. he’s still recovering now, many months after the accident, but now he’s got the boy of his dreams, and is working towards full recovery, and a happier outlook on life. he has some exciting things planned, and a bit of a change of direction in a way, but you’ll just have to wait to see all that!

now, for my newest baby, who honestly, i’ve been neglecting a little (especially since i started working recently it’s taken up a lot of my time). on september 26th 2018, rkguanheng arrived in rookies, who i talked about a lot before actually bringing him in. for a while he was just for fun dm rping, but he seemed so different to my current muses that i felt it would be beneficial to me to bring him in. he’s not as easily pacified as ten and xuxi, and speaks up when someone does something that bothers him. he’s not afraid of ruining budding relationships by speaking up when someone’s done something that upsets him, and that’s what i like about him. ten and xuxi are more likely to grin and bare things in silence, guanheng, however, knows when something isn’t fair.

guanheng is the most focused muse i have - he’s a creative writer. currently not a great dancer (and i don’t think he ever really will be) which is so unlike my muses (i’m such a sucker for dancers). i really like him so far, and am excited to write for him more when i find the time to plot more and get him really going. 

but for now i think that’s the entirety of my history here at rookies. i didn’t really go much into depth on tenrk, but all i really can say is he’s been through so much over the years, and having just passed his two year mark (which i studpidly missed as usual), he’s my longest ever tumblr rp muse. writing for him is almost like writing a journal sometimes, because out of all my muses, he’s the most like me. i put so much of myself into him that i suppose that’s why he’s lasted so long. to lose him would be like losing 2 years of my life. he’s had heartbreaks, emotional rollercoasters, and became one of the first boys in rookies to debut. when i first came to rookies, all those years back in 2015, i never thought i’d be here today, with a muse lasting longer than 2 years, who’s debuted, and had such a long romantic storyline, but, here’s the proof.

this is only part one of my rkfifth post, and since this has gotten so long, i want to stop here and make another post to thank each and every person who has made my time here so amazing.

NAME  OF  MUSE(s) :  EXPERIENCE  /  HOW  LONG  (  MONTHS  /  YEARS? ) :  Some of my on-site muses include Micha (my OC in my world built with @cultleads!) and Godric from Trueblood (@celestialfangs). Offsite I have been writing The Riddler (Batman 2022) and a few of my other OCs. I've been RPing for a very, very long time. Like 2010 - 2011, I was obviously awful at it back then being as young as I was. On Tumblr I've only been here since 2022, but I RPed on so many different platforms to count or list.

BEST  EXPERIENCE :   Oh man. I don't even really remember tbh! My experiences have mostly been off-site, I have RPed on Discord for the vast majority of the recent years. I would say one of my most fond RP experiences is RPing with my fianc��, since we worldbuild a lot and curate our OCs and muses in worlds where we can express ourselves freely. I've never really had that before, and it’s very refreshing to have it. I’ve always suffocated my desire to create content for my OCs, and really only RPed what other people want to write. Recently it’s a lot different tho!

RP  PET  PEEVES  /  DEALBREAKERS :   I don't like it when people make connections between the IC to the OOC. One thing I've dealt with countless times before I met my fiancé and established worlds with him is people assuming my character's feelings reflect my own (whether that be negative, positive, etc). Or people asking me really invasive personal questions about the RP, which always sketched me out. My character is not me. Godmodding or people winding up my character for the sake of it is a close second, though. 

MUSE  PREFERENCES  FLUFF,    ANGST  OR  SMUT :   I prefer angst-based, action and horror the most with RP partners outside of my fiancé, but with him I do really enjoy fluff, slow burn and smut.

PLOTS  OR  MEMES :   I prefer plotting as it gives me a bit more control over the direction of the RP, but I don't mind memes if it comes to that.

LONG  OR  SHORT  REPLIES :    Longer! I really do try to make my writing short and sweet on Tumblr but I genuinely struggle with it. I really can't leave out any detail. I prefer writing 2+ para (generally I'll write 5-7 but tumblr isn't really the platform for that).

ARE  YOU  LIKE  YOUR  MUSE(S) :   I relate to Micha in some ways, yes, I think he's different to me in the way he copes and he can be vicious and horrible. I understand him on a level where he has a hard time forgiving himself, as well as his need to have some social guidance. His social struggles are relatable, and we both have a similar taste in music. Other than that we're very different, Micha is far more destructive than I’ll ever be haha. My Riddler is very headcanons based and a bit self indulgent but he's very much one of the most relatable characters I've ever written and above all else is my core ‘ #1 relatable’ character. Some other characters I've written I relate to are Leon (Resident Evil) and Godric (Trueblood) most of my OCs have bits and pieces of myself, some don't.

A ϙᴜɪᴄᴋ ɴᴏᴛᴇ ᴏɴ ꜱʜɪᴘᴘɪɴɢ: Slow burns are A++.  Chemistry is a requirement, even if that chemistry is just us discussing their chemistry and history, but I love playing things out and just seeing where they go and greatly prefer that to ‘we should ship!’ and expecting things to just. Happen as a result.  At the very least, a few platonic interactions before seeing if something can actually be attempted is preferred, lol I and my muse prefer to feel things out.  Furthermore, I’m totally down for onesided feelings, crushes, bangmates, hateshipping, etc.  I’m also down for 'we don’t really talk about it oocly but they kinda figured it out themselves icly’ lol so if you’re worried over talking to me for some reason, just kinda come at loch! he gets attached fairly easily. You’ll have the easiest time with him if you’re a member of Team Skull, especially if you outrank or are on equal or similar ranking to him.  But I’m down for anyone and anything, really.

Furthermore, relationships with Loch will likely not be the healthiest.  Loch has somewhat stalkerish tendencies when he's interested in somebody(romantically or not, but especially romantically,) and his submissive and anxious nature will shine through if he’s very fond of someone, doing anything even if he doesn’t want to for the sake of their happiness.  Getting to a point of equivalence with him will likely take some time. Alternativly, it could stay unhealthy forever, which is also fine by me!!

Polyshipping/polyamory/same-verse-multishipping is very, very welcome here, so long as discussions have occurred between all involved muns.

OH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY romance is not my main thing for rping anymore. For a long time, in the past shippy stuff was like. All I ever rped. But I love characters and character exploration and I'm trying to learn development and advancement, so I’d love, love, LOVE to be able to have threads of them just…being them. Not necessarily on dates or doing romantic things, but.  Doing their own thing(s), but together. Working with the power of their relationship. Slice of life. Drama. Other genres, featuring this couple, not necessarily focused on them being a couple but being two people who are together, you know? One’s whole existence isn’t about their partner once they find one–there’s much, much more to life and to one’s individuality, and I don’t want to lose that.

Oᴘɪɴɪᴏɴ ᴏɴ Tʀᴜᴇ Lᴏᴠᴇ: He hasn’t really thought much about it.  He has other things on his mind. If love comes his way, then that’s pretty cool, but he’s not one to seek things out. However, he’s well aware of how feelings can come and go.  Assuming true love implies permanence or being fated or whathaveyou, he’s probably not one to believe in it, especially not in regards to himself. . .but he's sure others could enjoy such concepts more. He tends to consider himself more of a hold-over or an accessory to a relationship or partner than an actual partner. Hᴏᴡ ‘Rᴏᴍᴀɴᴛɪᴄ’ ᴀʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇʏ?: Not too romantic…? He’s pretty inexperienced in the ways of…emotions, period, let alone love.  He’ll try and imitate romantic behaviors as read about in books/seen on tv or movie or others’ relationships/expressed or recommended towards him/etc, but by nature he’s not too romantic if anything, he’s a little sporadic and, again, submissive/excessively selfless and will go out of his way for the sake of his partner’s will/interests.

Iᴅᴇᴀʟ Pʜʏꜱɪᴄᴀʟ Tʀᴀɪᴛꜱ: He’s not too picky. He tends to like people that are bigger than him, and he finds sharp teeth, strong smells, and inhuman features(not necessarily like. ears and tails although that too, but like. Again, sharp teeth, things like that.) Iᴅᴇᴀʟ Pᴇʀꜱᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ Tʀᴀɪᴛꜱ: Again, he's not picky at all.  Feelings just kinda happen for him…but he likes people who are kind to him, who respect Team Skull and his Master especially, people who are very individual-seeming and adventurous and. Interesting? People who seem like they have or are a story in and of themselves.  Authoritativeness is a plus, or maybe that’s his dependency showing…? But also easily influenced and it is possible to cause him to cheat by making him think that he’s strongly needed or desired by another party.  .furthermore, loch doesn’t consider most of his relationships committed relationships unless, like, plainly stated. Again, he sees himself as more of an accessory–a friend with benefits or a sidebitch kinda deal. So he may mess around, cluelessly, not realizing his partner thinks it’s just supposed to be them.  It kinda depends on the person. He’s not bothered much by cheating, himself–again, he doesn’t really see himself as a proper partner anyway so his partner being with someone else is very rarely an issue for him…but if someone makes him out to be important and valued then seems to disregard him, he’ll get upset and panicky and lonely.  Oᴘɪɴɪᴏɴ ᴏғ Pᴜʙʟɪᴄ Aғғᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ: Loch is an easily flustered bean.  He enjoys public affection, but he’ll likely be embarrassed or shy about it depending on what it is/where they are/how he’s feeling.comfort levels/etc.  Pᴀꜱᴛ Rᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘꜱ: He and @deliveryboi had something…it’s kind of ambiguous as to what, though.  (´・ω・`)  If you mean other ships…a few Guzmas, two other skull grunts, and two skull admins, kinda.  I feel like there were others, but I’ve had a long hiatus lol

Who the heck is my muse anyway:

Fiona was born in a land of peace as one of the most powerful fairies to ever exist in the world of fairies. Her duty as a fairy was to care for children and help them as well as others who needed her help as a fairy godmother.

A long time ago while Fiona was a good fairy, she was known to be different and even went against some fairy rules and became intimate with a human man. Eventually having a child whom cared dearly for. So when she heard of a prophecy that dictated he’d become a great hero, but die by a great evil’s hand it consumed her every waking moment to the point she was so obsessed with protecting him that she couldn't eat or sleep. It got to the point she turned to the darkness and created dark magic as stronger more powerful forms of magic to use. She was prone to using these dark arts and began doing things considered evil by other fairies even if at the time she had good intent. But soon Fiona was able to create the Dark Curse. Fiona had been willing to even banish every child away to a land without magic in order to ensure safety for her son so this “Great Evil” will never be able to threaten his life one day.

Then when her friend tried to stop her then Fiona ripped out her heart and proclaimed if she had to kill her son’s fairy godmother to protect him then she will. Thus crossing a line and causing her to become fully dark and become the Black Fairy, revealing she was indeed the great evil destined to kill her son. Then shortly after, using the shears of destiny she cut away her son’s destiny to become a hero rather than surrendering her powers claiming she needed them and began to embrace her darkness. She caused an immense about of damage and destruction before she was banished by the Blue Fairy to the Dark Realm for all her misdeeds and lost her wand in the process.

Shortly after arriving in the Dark Realm she spent years alone and in time she truly embraced herself as the great evil and began to kidnap children and raise them like they were hers but despite once having a child of her own she used heinous methods to gain complete obedience and loyalty for them to work for her and mine dark fairy dust for her. 

Points of interest:

Notably she is the architect of dark magic, as a result she is connected to the black magic that she created and grows stronger the more evil there is in the world and the more darkness she creates or light she destroys. Essentially making her the Mother of Darkness, Fiona is also responsible for creating the dreaded Dark Curse,  all her life she’s been responsible for many terrible things from the shadows. Whispering in the darkness and in dreams to other villains or encouraging darkness in others who she felt had potential to be powerful practitioners of the craft. While in her free time she had her “children” harvest black fairy dust from the mines which would help her achieve her current plan.

What they’ve been up to recently:

Fiona is still in the Dark Realm, but she has planning ways to free herself from her prison for good, and in the meantime has been forcing children she’s kidnapped to mine dark fairy dust for her.

Current plans:

Fiona plans to use the dark fairy dust to create a terrible new curse with it so she’ll be able to use it to destroy all other realms besides the one she will reside in so she may get her “unchecked powers” and thus be unstoppable. But first things first, she is focused on finding a way to free herself from the Dark Realm.

Desired interactions:

I don’t get many interactions with her currently, I would like to meet other OUAT muses to interact with despite going canon divergent with her. In terms of crossovers, I am completely okay with rping with anyone that would like to rp, and I would really like to rp with any hero or villain character out there no matter who it is really. 

Offered interactions:

I’ve thought a lot about Fiona, because I thought with all the build up that she was given she had a lot of potential as a villain, canon divergent or not she’s easily the most evil character I’ve rped as too. I offer a lot of dark themes here because of the kind of person/fairy she is, but you can come to expect that from the origin of darkness herself and I’m alright with most things in rp because I also have no triggers and any hero or villain character that would want to rp with her, I’m all for it.

APPLE - first muse? 

{out of breath} Hmm... depends on what you mean by “first.” First OC I ever made? First one I wrote? First one I rped? First one I brought to Tumblr? XD Okay I’ll just list all the firsts I can think of, lol.

The first OC I ever created was a prince named Shian whose father, the king, died and he basically panicked and fled the kingdom because he didn’t want to be king. It was... a very simplistic story, the first book I had ever written. It was titled Story, haha. Eh, my teenage self thought that was supposed to be profound or something. 

The first OC I ever roleplayed was Silence Leaflin (also my pen name), who I played in a friend’s in-person D&D game. She was a half-human, half-vampire sorceress with a tiny bat familiar named Fizzle. She grew up in a very isolated and cult-like village who believed that sorcerers were cursed and doomed to die young, because every one born in the village had left in their teenage years and never come back. Really, what it was, was that once they left, they realized how crazy the village was and never wanted to go back, heh.

The first OC I felt like I ever really put a lot of effort into and fleshed out like a real person as far as world, background, timeline, personality, skill class, magic, race, mental health, etc. was Channe ( @fxcelessqueen ). I created her for the first D&D game I ever ran myself, and she is a main character in a fantasy book I never finished entitled The Mask of Truth. Unfortunately, I think she was just a little too weird for Tumblr, and her blog just never gained any permanent writing partners.

The first muse I ever wrote on Tumblr was Ned Stark of Game of Thrones, and it was completely by accident. I had a fan blog for the character that someone mistook for a rp blog, and they sent me an ask and just basically started rping... and I had been following rp blogs for GoT, so I knew what was going on, and instead of correcting the person, I just went ahead and rped with them. It ended up being a lot of fun, but the GoT fandom was a bit too expansive and oppressive as far a fans really wanting everything perfect in their rp threads for me to stay in it.

The first muse I ever deliberately brought to Tumblr and made a blog for was Nuada of Hellboy II ( @fallxnprxnce ), which is my main on this account. All other muses are sideblogs of his. He had been a favorite character of mine for a while and he was a very easy character for me to write, so I figured he’d be a great way to get into the whole rping community here on Tumblr. I had a lot of fun with him, but his blog has been dead for a while now. I intend to bring him back, but I need to revamp the blog first and I want to finish writing my Nuada in Silent Hill fanfic first. 

PEACH - least favourite muse?

Hahaha, well... I did have one completely failed baby on here. Lacryma ( @crackedbellsandsilenttears ). She has a really complicated back story, but simply put, she is a sentient spell of sadness who really just wants to be happy and make friends. In other words. If a spell could develop its own persona, and the longer it remained “alive,” the more it became like a real person, that’s what she would be like. She’s a character from The Mask of Truth world as well. The reason her blog failed was because I let it, pretty much the same day I created it, heh. So... what happened was that I thought she would be a neat character to write on Tumblr and I had seen a movie that had the perfect FC in it for her. Aaaaaaaand then I ended up really badly triggering the very first person I told about the blog because the FC was too scary. I... felt... HORRIBLE. And it basically killed my desire the write the character completely. Like I just felt so totally terrible that I had really upset this person that I just wanted nothing to do with the blog after that. I tried a little bit to write her, but... nah... It died, heh. I’ve been watching horror movies since I was little, and sometimes I forget that things are a lot scarier to other people than they are to me. I still feel really terrible about scaring that poor person, ugh.

TURNIP - most damaged muse?

Oh MAAAAN... That’s going to be a hard one to answer because that’s kindof my thing, heh. I tend to collect muses that have really been through SomeShit™. Almost all of my muses have tragic backstories and/or anxiety, stress, or trauma disorders. But hmm... let me think... Yeah, Imma split this one up too because I can’t pick just one, heh.

The most physically damaged muse would have to be my poor Nemmer-kins, haha. Nemesis ( @freewillacquired, of Resident Evil ) used to be a human man named Matt Addison, but he was captured by Umbrella after being infected with a highly mutagenic strain of the T-virus. Matt is a carrier of the virus (my headcanon), so instead of being killed by it and becoming undead, he suffered monstrous mutations, fueled by his own natural genetics and enhanced by experiments performed on him by Dr. Isaacs and Major Cain.

The results of the mutation were basically that he looks beyond recognition as a human. He’s a lot taller now, a lot more muscular, and is basically a tank that can take a shit ton of damage without dying. Basically as long as his brain is intact, he will regenerate. He is virtually unaffected by bullets, resistance to fire and nuclear blasts, and is of course immune to further infection by the undead. His teeth are razor sharp and oversized and he lacks lips, a nose, and ears. Well he’s got the holes for them, heh, but no physical ears or nose anymore. But after he is awakened and remembers himself, he’s basically a human man in the body of a horrifically mutated monster. And Matt’s a nice guy, heh. So, not to minimize the psychological anguish here at all by saying that Nemesis is my most physically damaged muse, because he’s in constant physical and emotional pain every minute of his life, basically. But yeah... no other muse has been so physically violated and had their body changed against their will the way Nemesis has.

My most mentally damaged muse... would be a tossup between Wanda Maximoff ( @thiscrimsonsoul ) , Luther ( @armed-and-alxne ), and Channe, I’m guessing. But... Channe actually makes a pretty good recovery over the decades of her life and becomes more stable and at peace with herself and what’s happened in her life, so Imma eliminate her. Early on in her life, yeah, but considering the whole journey of the character, she’s doing okay. And Wanda... we still don’t even know how she is going to deal with everything that’s happened to her. I guess we all have to wait for WandaVision. I’m guessing... not well at all, heh, but since we don’t know, I’ll eliminate her. That leaves Luther, who I guess is my most damaged muse baby, heh.

Luther was born to a father he never knew at all and a mother who didn’t want him and who was a drug addict and alcoholic. He was left to fend for himself and learned at a young age that if he didn’t want to be hungry he had to steal what he wanted. He was headed for the criminal justice system when was taken off the streets at age 12 by a man he looked up to as a father figure. The problem was, the man was the head of a bratva (Russian mafia family) and selected Luther specifically because he had a personality conducive to mental conditioning. By the time he was 16, Luther was conditioned to believe that he owed this man what is known as a “life debt,” which is basically... I saved your life so now you belong to me and owe it to me to spend your life serving me. Luther served this man and his family for 27 years as basically a glorified salve. 

He was everything to the family but never family. Bodyguard, bouncer, handyman, bartender, chauffeur, debt collector, security specialist, accountant.... and hitman. He was physically and mentally abused as a teenager into complete subservience, and to believe that he was innately a lesser human being. He was lucky to serve the family, was what he believed. Lucky to even be in their presence. He was in love with the man’s daughter for nearly all the years he was with the family but couldn’t ever say anything because he probably would’ve been killed for it. He watched her marry someone else, have kids, be happy... and then one day his boss asked him to kill her husband. Yep, his daughter’s husband. Long story.

Anyway, it went against everything Luther believed in because at his core he’s actually a very honorable and protective guy. But he’s so conditioned to obey... that he does it. And then his boss has him lie... to this woman he loves... and her kids... for months about it... and pretend like he had nothing to do with it. Anyway I won’t ramble on, but yeah, the mental prison this man lived in for almost 30 years, the speak only went spoken to, you work for the family but will never be family, on call 24-7, not permitted to have friends or a pet or a girlfriend nature of his life... was incredibly sad. In the end he gave his life for the woman he loved, taking a bullet for her. Because that’s the kind of guy he was, even under all those layers of abuse and trauma.

What drew you to start roleplaying? Is there anything you would do differently if you here to start over?

I was on tumblr hmmm...roughly six months or so before I started RPing. It was a personal/fandom/fanfic type of deal. Anyway, so of course I made some friends via fandom stuff like ya do and one of them got into RPing. So I was seeing this stuff and thought it looked neat and she was telling me about the experience and so I made a blog for one of the main characters of the fandom I was all over at the time. Also was experiencing a bit of writer's block with fanfic, so I thought that maybe it would help shake that rut. Hmm...I think we all made mistakes in the beginning. I wish I hadn't gotten a writer friend on here involved in RPing, promising her a ship only to abruptly lose interest in it when I suddenly started getting so into a ship with another mun's muse that I went single ship with them. Which...was kind of awkward since we predominately RPed on Skype. So here I was, writing an extremely popular and desirable character and single ship with an invisible partner. They had a blog on tumblr, mind, but they were rarely on it. Anyway, kinda shitty of me. I was also not so great with plotting in the beginning. Like...I wouldn't say that I expected people to come to me with ideas, but I was very inflexible. Granted my muse's situation in canon made him difficult to crossover with other fandoms a lot, but I could have made verses or something. Been more open-minded Idek. There was a lot of back scene, interpersonal drama that I let people drag me into. Probably because I was depressed and had too much time on my hands being unemployed and stressed out by a failing and frankly abusive relationship. I was using RP as escapism in a lot of ways, but not in a healthy way. When I started writing John, it was a bit like starting over. My previous fandom was dying and I was losing my muse as John got louder and I just fell hard with him. Most of my partners were either severely inactive or long since gone, so when I started up in the DC/Marvel end no one really knew me from the other aside from a couple. I've tried to learn from my previous experience to be a better partner and writer. Well. I do have one other thing I wish I could change, but yeah. Just um, wish I'd had more time with someone before they were gone. That's all.
