“Thank you, mom!” Callum beamed as he engulfed his mother in a warm, bear hug. He usually tried to play it cool and tough, but there was no denying he was a bit of a mama’s boy. His was the best in the world. There weren’t a lot of students in Auradon that could say they had supportive parents, but Callum had been lucky in that area. “I have you to thank, you know,” he promised, kissing her cheek as he drew away. “Did you see that last shot? It was straighter than the arrow I shot with?”

“Mommm.” Callum really wasn’t one to whine, but his mother would just not stop messing with his tie. And his jacket, and the hem of his pants… – he’d only gotten a few crumbs on his suit. It was still in perfectly good shape. It was enough to get him in one as is. “It’s fine. I don’t think the ladies are going to shy away from me if my tie is a little crooked.” While Callum loved dancing, and a chance to sweep someone off their feet, he hated how stuffy these royal balls could be. “You’re not trying to marry me off yet, are ya’?”
