Sebastian crack fic

Heya! Really hope you enjoy this fic. I'd say it's pretty funny, have fun reading!

You've started to forget when the first time you explored the blacksite was, or when you even started working for UrbanShade.. or why you started working for them.. When was the last time you died? You seemed to lose track, the memories just keep blurring together.

But there are some pros, on most of your runs and all of your returns you would see and talk to sebastian!

You and him were somewhat friends? At least that's what you thought. With the amount of times you died he would chat with you a bit, you and him could hold up a good conversation for awhile. He'd laugh at you. You'd laugh at him, you guys would banter and just have fun.

Though during one of your runs you found.. something very interesting and odd, no matter what happened, what routes you took, how fast or slow…. You had never seen something like this from the outside world. A fucking air fryer, where on earth did this come from? How did it get here? So many questions were going through your head. Your main question was how did this get here, God probably doesn't know where.

And neither do you.

Next to it you found some gold. A mini-fridge next to the air fryer. You might've found food in the blacksite! You eagerly open the mini-fridge as you seem to find diamonds. Food. You actually found a normal frozen package of food in the blacksite! You pick it up and look at what glorious type of food it might be… and its fish sticks.

The irony is almost painful. Emphasis on almost. The fact you're friends with Sebastian doesn't matter right now when you cook them in the air fryer. This is food, he out of all people would take this chance just as you are.

It felt like forever for them to cook but when it was done and you opened the air fryer it smelled like heaven, even if you didn't like fish before. You burn yourself getting some normal food out of the airfryer and trying to eat them, this was heaven, you were at the pearly gates of heaven eating these.

At least it was heaven compared to this hellish place you've been in for god knows how long. You've died so many times, but.. with this. You feel like you're not stuck here, like you're still in the outside world. Like before you were trapped in this hell.

You do eat most of the fish sticks but this heaven pack had a lot of them, you did cook them all. While putting the rest of them back in the bag you get a terrible great idea! Why not trade these to sebastian for an item? You didn't actually plan on doing that but you thought it would be a funny idea!

Going through the rooms you see that familiar vent break open as sebastian calls you in.

He greets you as normal, seemingly not noticing the heavenly smell of the food. He turns on his light for the shop, smiling at you. “Hello.. good to see you’re back, in need any items?” His tone is neutral but you can tell he's genuinely happy to see you. Sadly, what you're planning on doing to him might ruin that happiness.

You have a lot of research but you're gonna see what happens if you try to bribe him with food. You may not have his file but you know he's been here for a long time, who knows when he's last eaten?

“Why.. why would I want fish sticks instead of research???” His confusion just keeps growing, with a hint of sarcasm slowly building up.

You start to ask as confusion etches itself on Sebastian's face. “Could I buy something with fish sticks?” the confusion just sets in more as the silence is loud, after what feels like hours he just stares at you with utter confusion in his voice. “I'm sorry, what did you just say?” Poor sebastian is just completely confused. He doesn't know what to say. You hand him the bag, he opens it, looks inside for a minute, he just stares at you again, possibly even more confused. Somehow.

Unfortunately he steals the rest of your fish sticks and asks you “How on earth did you find and cook fish sticks!? How did you find normal food in the blacksite??” You start to explain and his confusion just seems to grow, in fact.. You've never seen... So much confusion on anything, ever.

“So.. let me get this straight. You some random expendable somehow found an air fryer and a mini-fridge, just to open the mini-fridge and find fish sticks. You somehow cooked them, you came here and tried to bribe me with fish sticks?? And you thought that would work??” He stares at you desperately waiting for an answer

“kinda??” as you say that he face-palms “Why would you do that when we've already established that RESEARCH is what you buy my items with.” his voice tells you that he thinks you're an absolute idiot.

“Not really, I thought it would be funny, to be honest it kinda was” you just caused him to have another face-palm. This annoyed you, because he refuses to give you back your fish sticks.

Sebastian picks you up like a mother cat would their kitten, but with his hand and it's the back of your uniform. “You'll what. I am a giant mutant fish with a shotgun. What are you going to do to me? There is quite literally nothing you can do.”

You manage to get yourself out of his grasp and while he realizes that you aren't in his hand anymore you have to be fast, so you quickly get up to grab a flash beacon from his tail and shoot him to make sebastian let go of his food.. you then shoot him with the flash beacon “GUAGH” he pulls out his shotgun and shoots you.

You don't get a file document from sebastian, although it wouldn't take a genius to know who killed you. All sebastian tells you is.. “I warned you..”

Next thing you remember is waking up back in your bed, of the UrbanShade prison. You get up knowing you'll have to get ready for your next run. Memories coming back about how you were killed by sebastian over fish sticks.

You really can't tell if it was a stupid dream or sebastian really killed you over fish sticks.

At least you'll be able to go back to the blacksite and get your answers. Let's hope sebastian will talk to you and answer your question.

you know what, I actually will talk about this because it's bothering me. The issue with focussing so heavily on syd and carmy's potential for a romantic relationship isn't that there's something inherently unintellectual about romance or whatever, it's that a lot of people seem incapable of doing that without immediately flattening the story and ignoring or intentionally misreading any and all nuance for the sake of that romance. Every scene suddenly becomes about how it impacts their relationship, every analysis is done through a romantic lens, every frame or line of dialogue becomes about finding some easter egg or hint that "proves" these people should start dating. Their dynamic is absolutely a fundamental part of this show, but if you can only see it as a will-they-won't-they, you miss so much of what the story is actually trying to say with these two.

There are good versions of this story where their relationship is romantic and there are good versions of this story where it isn't, but as soon as you decide them being together is "the point," you lose the ability to actually judge the story for what it is, not what you want it to be.

Which canon character respects your OC most? What gained that respect?

LORE TIME !!! (sorry this took a while to answer too, i've still got the school debuff </3)

going to once again preemptively cut because i ALSO expect this one to be a long one. Also, just a heads up that while I try to be canon-compliant as much possible, a lot of the lore for this AU I have with my oc has some canon rewritten to better fit with my vision of the story/make for better character dynamics !

So I don't think there's necessarily one single character that respects Hanh the most. If I really had to try and narrow it down, it would probably be Kyle. I talk about it more in detail in here but to make a long story short (oh uh let's hope I don't turn like those people in the zipline episode), they're both very responsible, have strong moral compasses, and they're both basically the "moms" of the group. Hanh would specifically be kind of the "last line of defense" and voice of reason if even Kyle ends up falling victim to the whims of South Park shenanigans.

Though in a more general case, there are two events that caused Hanh to gain respect from most of the kids at school.

The first one was when Hanh first moved to South Park and was considered the New Kid. In typical new kid in South Park fashion, she'd probably gain a little bit of attention seeing as no one ever moves there (I'm imagining this takes place before the town becomes super gentrified and a lot of people start moving in). But other than the usual whispers and gossip, nothing really out of the ordinary happens, and life goes on. That is until the M4 get an idea (wuh oh).

Something, something, Cartman finds out that Hanh is Vietnamese (and not actually Chinese) and decides to formulate a plan where they use Hanh to help write their Vietnam War paper (this is actually entirely based Season 2 episode 6, the one where the M4 ask Ned and Jimbo about their experience in the Vietnam War).

So, once again, in typical South Park fashion, the boys go to pester and bother her about questions on the Vietnam War. To which, y'know, the 9 year old has no clue how to answer because she was born in the US and knows nothing about the war, lol.

For the most part, she just politely tells them she doesn't know anything. This of course completely infuriates Cartman, maybe he even goes on to believe it's some kind of conspiracy by the Chinese to stop them from getting an easy A on their report.

It all culminates into one boiling point where Cartman goes to confront her in the middle of the school yard. He starts throwing accusations and racist remarks while Hanh just kind of. Stands there. Not really knowing what to do. Stan and Kenny kind of stand just as awkwardly as her, while Kyle's yelling at Cartman for him to stop.

Up until Cartman decides to grab part of Hanh's hair and pulls on it. For a second, time slows down, and a little voice in the form of her mom rings in Hanh's head: "If anyone ever tries to bother you at this new school, you need to defend yourself. And if that means punching someone, you do it. What do you think we enrolled you in all of those karate classes for?"

And so, she does. She punches Cartman square in the face, practically instinctively, and he stumbles back. A thin line of blood starts streaming down his nose, staining the pristine snow underneath his feet, and Hanh's just about to shit her pants.

She runs off, utterly terrified at what kind of trouble she's going to get into, while the boys and anyone who had the fortune of seeing the scene unfold laugh at Cartman for getting his ass handed to him by a girl. For the rest of the day, Hanh just actively avoids the M4 as much as she could, thinking they're going to beat her up for punching one of their friends. So imagine how funny it is when they finally catch up to her and tell her "Dude, anyone who punches Cartman is cool in our books." To which she responds with "ISN'T HE YOUR FRIEND???"

So yea! It's both the catalyst for Hanh's friendship with the M4 and how she gained their respect (save for maybe Cartman).

The second event is also pretty similar to the first one, which is also based on another episode! Specifically, Season 8 Episode 10, the one with Trent Boyett.

In this one, instead of going to Shelley for protection against Trent Boyett, they go to Hanh (much to Cartman's dismay) because they remember an offhanded comment she made about taking martial arts classes and being a red belt. They were initially going to go ask Shelley first, before remembering she'd probably kill them anyway after protecting them from Trent.

When they come to her begging and pleading to Hanh, she's initially completely against the idea. She's especially appalled at Kyle, considering he's usually the one to take the moral high ground. Though, after a lot of convincing and tearful sobs, she finally concedes, only on the condition that they would own up to their mistake to everyone and give a heartfelt apology to Trent Boyett (in this universe they'd still get Trent sent to juvie, but probably not due to burning Ms. Claridge). Though, before they get the chance to agree to her terms, lo and behold: Trent Boyett shows up.

With nowhere left to go, the M4 hide behind Hanh, which Trent Boyett makes a comment on how of course they'd be cowardly enough to hide behind someone again instead of owning up to their mistake. Hanh (once again, shitting her pants) would try to reason with Trent by telling him the guys have changed and are willing to apologize and make up for everything they did. There's a moment of hesitation from him as he sees Hanh put her arms up, almost as if to shield her friends. But he dismisses this and just goes straight for them.

She uses herself to basically block Trent's way, following his every movement. After a bit of back and forth, he tries to push past her but she just pushes back, until he finally has enough and he just goes for it and beelines to them. This causes him to suffer the same fate as Cartman: with her fist connecting with his teeth. If she wasn't pissing herself before, she certainly is now, LOL

Everyone's reeling back from the shock and realization that Hanh's just punched the meanest, nastiest, cruelest kid in school (and also praying for her soul to rest in peace because only God can help her now), and there's a thick silence in the air. Mr. Mackey thankfully comes in before anything further happens, and seeing Trent Boyett at the scene already makes him think the worst. Mackey starts his spiel on how "fighting's bad, m'kay" and is about to take Trent away to presumably give him another suspension. Before he could do anything though, Hanh speaks up and takes the blame for starting the fight. Pretty much everyone is shocked, especially Trent (and also the M4 because if Hanh gets suspended over this, who's going to protect them now???). She goes on to recount what happened (albeit with a very shaky voice), and explains that she's the one who landed the first punch. Hesitantly, Mackey explains that she would likely have to face some kind of punishment, and maybe even suspension if this turns out to be true. She just nods.

But to everyone's surprise, Trent sighs butts in, retracting Hanh's statement by admitting to Mackey that he was in fact the one that started the fight, and that Hanh's just trying to cover for him. She tries to convince him that this isn't something he needs to do, but he just shrugs and says that "a few days of suspension isn't going to kill me."

Before he gets taken away, however, he turns to the M4 to give them a piece of advice: “You’re lucky you’ve got a good friend. I have no idea why someone like her would hang out with the likes of you, but right now it’s the only thing stopping from beating you guys to a bloody pulp right here and now, so take my advice: don’t fuck this up.” 

(she later gave them a good smack to the head to each boy for putting her in this heart-attack inducing situation)

And that's how Hanh managed to not only gain the respect of Trent Boyett, but also scare pretty much anyone (even her own friends) who ever thought about crossing her!

There's a lot of details and dialogue I omitted from the second part since I was worried I wouldn't be able to convey my thoughts well in writing. I've actually been wanting to make a mini-comic of this scenario someday!! so hopefully once the semester's over and I have some time i can finally put it to paper <3

Blood Pearl Of The Sea has been my favorite fanfic since twenty fucking twenty two and every time I reread it the plot gets better 😭 if I was to summarize it, imagine if someone made heterosexual women shoujo yaoi into a straight wattpad ao3 fanfiction and put a confused lesbian as the female lead. I loathe the "I read your fanfic" type videos that everyone seems to do at least once (this is more of a general youtube complaint tbh). Partially because I cannot fucking stand secondhand embarrassment, and partially because they don't even choose good fanfic. Stop going to wattpad for your fanfic videos, nothing good is on wattpad. Go to ao3 like a real man.

I think that part of what like. kills me about the whole media literacy and critical thinking aspect of enjoying media these days is that people refuse to like. contextualize that

A. Bad media can still hold significant meaning to people

B. Media made for a demographic you aren’t apart of is not inherently bad media

C. Media made for and consumed by the opposite demographic is not inherently shallow or flawed nor is it above criticism for its media tropes either.

SPOILERS but...

There's two things I keep noticing in my playthroughs that would have so much of a bigger impact if the game gave them a bit more time to marinate. Killing Alfira and Astarion's ascension.

You're pretty much guaranteed to murder Alfira before the tiefling party and she's REALLY easy to miss at the grove if you don't know where to look for her and are not the "I must explore every nook and cranny" type of player so her death is just shocking, the element of "Fuck, I really cared about that character" missing. But what if she really stayed at your camp for a few long rests? What if you could chat with her, get to know her a bit more? And only THEN do you wake up covered in blood with her gutted body at your feet. It would mean a lot more story-wise too, make Sceleritas' threats of "You don't want a repeat of what happened with the bard, right?" more impactful. Because in-game right now she was simply a temporary stowaway and Durge can rationalise "well I would never hurt my friends", lulling themself into a false sense of security and an illusion of being in control. With Alfira being able to become their friend before they kill her, the stakes suddenly become much higher. I honestly would have had my heart in my throat every time I made the party long rest when playing good Durge after something like that, just WAITING for something bad to happen. It would make Alfira's death more of an omen than simply just a reveal that there's something seriously wrong with the character you're playing as.

(I'm overall team "there should've been more Urge saving throws/unavoidable bloodshed, but that's just me. You can't deny it feels a bit too easy to be good, though. Right?)

With Astarion's ascension I really did not like how he IMMEDIATELY switches once the ritual is finished. How there are red flags all over from the second he speaks to you for the first time. Magical means or not, people don't work like that. He's too fucking obvious with it to me. From the start you know EXACTLY what you're getting into if you stay with him and I think a more compelling and narratively sound way of going about it would be to not have it be so instantaneous. Astarion did not know what he was getting into when he accepted Cazador's offer, you not knowing either and being convinced that everything he's doing is really out of love not whatever the hell that whole situationship becomes in canon, would really make the circle of abuse theme shine. Have him seem genuine, don't have him press so hard. If his words did not have "I WANT TO OWN YOU" written all over them and his angle was instead not wanting to lose Tav/Durge to their mortality, it would be so much sane to accept the offer, only to have it later become obvious that it was a mistake. And I know that's not the angle the writer was going for, only the "good" ending deserves to tackle heavy themes, ascended ending is for the loveless vampire fetishists, but I still mourn what could have been if they kept with the themes of Astarion's story better, let it play out more instead of the ritual and long rest cutscene being basically the end of it.
