As we ease into the Halloween season I would like to announce that I will be posting a new hand drawn spooky drawing daily throughout October as part of Drawlloween 2024. Here is a little teaser, a redrawn (from my sketchbook) of "He Who Kills", the Zuni hunter doll that appeared in the third segment of the made for TV movie Trilogy Of Terror (written by none other than the great Richard Matheson). Although Karen Black was in all three segments this guy was really the star of the show! This drawing is not part of the challenge because I drew it on my computer using Photoshop and my Wacom tablet. Keep watching this Tumblr throughout October for more Halloween fun and, as always, check out my website www.deadcatcomix.com for more artwork. Below I present to you the list of drawings for Drawlloween 2024, join along if you like!

A spaceship from Earth lands on a mysterious planet. When they depart something has hitchhiked on board. It begins stalking the crew… killing them one by one…
Sound familiar?
Nope, it’s “It! The Terror from Beyond Space” (1958) - 21 years before that other movie you were thinking about.

Movies for Halloween
It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958)
I have a weakness for 50's SciFi movies and this is one of the first I remember seeing on one of the creature feature shows from back in the day. In it, Col. Edward Carruthers is the only survivor of a mission to Mars gone bad. When the rescue ship arrives, they accuse him of having killed the other members of his mission for their food and water rations. On their way back to Earth, however, they find that they have a stowaway, and Col. Carruthers might not be the culprit after all! Enjoy!

For Throwback Thursday / Flashback Friday, here's a piece I did on a forgotten gem of a film, that happened to have an enormous influence on "scary" Sci Fi going forward, most especially for 1979's "Alien". The 1958 classic, "It! The Terror From Beyond Space". https://retrorevelations.blogspot.com/2014/10/silver-sreen-stories-it-terror-from.html
