I have woken up sick in bed for the third day running and missing some childhood foods I grew up with in Southeast Asia. So of course the first thing my brain spits out at me are the Tamrielic origins of es puter (es poot-er, lit. "turned ice"), a traditional Indonesian ice cream. It looks like this!
Tumblr media
Es puter is traditionally made by pouring sweetened or flavoured coconut milk into a metal or plastic vessel, which is submerged in ice and rotated periodically until an ice-cream texture is achieved. Some popular es puter flavours include sweet corn, ube, chocolate, and coconut.
While es puter is totally fine to eat on its own (it is served in little scoops at roadside vendors and you can buy them in tubs at the supermarket now), the true experience is when you turn it into a heaped sundae!
Es puter can be served with any number of toppings. Popular additions include small cubes of white bread (somewhat akin to bite-sized bread pudding), sweet corn, jelly, azuki beans, cendol, avocado, or sago pearls. It's often drizzled with a good amount of chocolate syrup to finish.
I'd like to call es puter an Argonian treat, made predominantly in more urban areas around and within Black Marsh like Lilmoth and Stormhold, due to the availability of alchemical ingredients to preserve the ice (like frost salts and saltpeter). That isn't to say that rural Argonians aren't fans of es puter, but ice mages can be a rarity out in the swamps, making this dessert a treat for travellers in bigger towns and settlements.
Other popular Argonian es puter flavours in Black Marsh include scuttlebloom nectar, banana, papaya, and seaweed. Top your scoops with some fresh tropical fruit, candied mealworm, and a dash of scuttlebloom nectar, and you have a cold treat of legendary proportions!

Hi Cat! I hope the day/night has been treating you kindly today. I’m wondering if you can help me find a female Korean fc (preferably with acting roles and in her late 20s) who can pull off a rock/heavy metal musician vibe? I was originally going to use Park Gyu-young because of her role in Sweet Home, but she’s already being used. I’m sorry if this request was oddly niche, but thank you in advance for any and all help! <3

Release me (short horror story)
Note: You can find our stories also on our YT channel in audio format!
A young girl was weaving through the busy crowds of people. It was almost midnight, but the street was still full of life. The coffee shops and restaurants were still open and the street vendors were inviting passersby to buy some of their merchandise in a mixture of Indonesian and sunda. Occasionally they could be heard a word in English, but that was rare.
Near the fountain, she could see a group of people in black and white. A guy in a black wig and white dress, a girl dressed as a bloodied nurse, a girl dressed like a stereotypical witch, and a guy bound in a sheet with a bloodied face. That one looked odd since the sheet he was born in was pink with red hearts. While she was passing by them she made eye contact with the guy in white dress. His eyes were hidden underneath white contact lenses. The brightness of the light eyes was uncanny. She stared into those bright eyes, while she played nervously with the new bracelet she bought.
The tension in the air was dispelled when she noticed another figure heading toward the group. It was another figure bound in a shroud. The white cloth looked more intimidating than the one with red hearts on it, but the little waddling steps, the performer was forced to make to move looked comical.
The girl almost busted into laughter, but she passed by the group, made a beeline around Captain America, and headed toward the center of the busy street. She took out her phone to order grab. She did not even bother to order a car. A motorbike will be there faster and she will get home faster with a bike weaving through Indonesian traffic. She chose parallel road as a pickup spot since it would be easier to find the driver.
She ducked into one of the side streets heading towards the pickup spot and just barely escaping one of the pushy street vendors. The stark contrast between the busy main street and this empty side street was eery. The noise of the main road was fading quickly with each step she took into the dark alley and when she emerged on the correct road, it was completely silent. She stood underneath a street lamp watching the driver's road on the Grab app. She was nervous, it was almost midnight and she could not wait to be home. She was playing with the metal bracelet, brushing her fingertips over the intricate ornamental pattern.
She jumped at a sudden loud noise, and when she looked for the disturbance, it was two stray cats chasing each other. The girl released the breath she did not know she was holding. „I almost had a heart attack.“ she laughed. Another movement caught her eye. When she looked properly, she could see a person in a white shroud and bloodied face staring at her from across the street.
„Well somebody is taking their job way too seriously.“ Muttered the girl. The figure just stared at her. „Leave me alone! I don’t want a photo with you!“ The street lamp above her flickered. When the light returned the shrouded figure was two meters in front of her. „This is not funny!“ She yelled as she tried to back away. Then the street lamp dimmed and the street was plunged into darkness. She could hear a raspy voice, but she could not comprehend the words.
She sprinted away. She did not know where she was heading, just away from there. She stepped into the hole in the pavement and stumbled. As she caught herself from falling. The light from her phone illuminated white clothed figure. The raspy voice could be heard again. „Release me.“ Her nose was hit with the putrid smell of rotting flesh. She turned to run the other way, but not even two steps before she bumped into the same figure. The stench made her eyes water, her heart was beating fast and she could taste a metallic taste in her mouth as she put herself in her tongue.
„Release me.“ The voice sounded like two rusty metal plates scaping each other. The Street lights flickered and she could see the sticky blood on the bluish-dead face before the street became dark once again. She tried to back away, but she could not, her bracelet got caught in a shroud of that ghostly figure. „Release me“. She kept tugging on to free herself. „Release me“ She kept tugging the heart beating rapidly. Her eyes are still blurry with tears. „Release me.“ With the last tug, she stumbled backward. She fell, and the lights flickered once more. She could breathe, the street lamp once again illuminating the street and the shrouded figure nowhere in sight.
Her hand still felt heavy. She realized the bracelet was still tangled into the piece of cloth that tied the shroud of that creature together. She detailed herself from it and got off the ground. Her phone pinged with a new notification. Her Grab was almost there.

The Playlist of Strangers
Tumblr media
[His thumb hovered over the screen, muscle memory ready to select the same tired tracks that had become as routine as brushing teeth. The playlist stared back at him, a digital mausoleum of songs he'd played until they'd lost their magic. Each track title blurred into the next, like faces in a crowded subway car.]
"씨발," 진은 재킷 주머니가 흔들릴 정도로 세게 휴대폰을 주머니에 넣으며 중얼거렸다. 아침 출근길이 빈 캔버스처럼 그의 앞에 펼쳐졌고, 수년 만에 처음으로 그는 오디오라는 지팡이 없이 그것에 맞서야 했다.
["For fuck's sake," Jin muttered, pocketing his phone with enough force to make his jacket pocket swing. The morning commute stretched before him like an empty canvas, and for the first time in years, he'd face it without his audio crutch.]
[The silence felt wrong, like a missing tooth you can't stop probing with your tongue. But in that silence, he started hearing things - snippets of conversation, hummed melodies, tinny beats leaking from others' headphones. A symphony of human existence he'd been drowning out.]
"뭘 흥얼거리고 있어요?" 그는 평소 커피를 사는 곳의 바리스타에게 물었다. 평소의 말 없는 거래를 깨뜨리며.
["What's that you're humming?" he asked the barista at his regular coffee spot, breaking their usual wordless transaction.]
[She blinked, caught off-guard. "Oh, it's this Ukrainian folk-metal band. They mix traditional instruments with heavy guitars. Sounds weird, but it slaps."]
[Jin scribbled the name in his phone, the unfamiliar characters looking like ancient runes. That evening, he found himself nodding along to guttural vocals and haunting bandura solos.]
[The next day, he asked his elderly neighbor about the classical piece drifting through her open window. The day after, he cornered the IT guy about the jazz fusion playing in his cubicle. Each recommendation came with a story - memories of concerts, breakups, road trips, first kisses.]
"70년대 인도네시아 사이키델릭 록을 들어봐야 해요," 치과 의사가 진의 입 안에 손을 깊이 넣은 채 말했다. "녹아내린 무지개 속을 헤엄치는 것 같은 기분이 들게 해요."
["You gotta check out this Indonesian psychedelic rock from the '70s," his dentist said, hands deep in Jin's mouth. "Makes you feel like you're swimming through melted rainbows."]
[The collection grew: Mongolian throat singing, Brazilian funk, Norwegian black metal, West African highlife. Each genre a different flavor of human expression, each song a thread connecting him to another soul.]
[His new playlist became a tapestry of humanity - messy, eclectic, sometimes jarring in its transitions, but alive with stories. The German techno track reminded him of the taxi driver's eyes lighting up as he described Berlin nightclubs. The bluegrass tune carried echoes of his building's superintendent's childhood in Kentucky.]
[One month into his musical odyssey, Jin sat in his apartment, surrounded by sticky notes covered in song titles and recommendations. His phone buzzed with a notification: "Based on your listening history, we can't predict what you'll like next."]
[He smiled, feeling a peculiar pride. The algorithm couldn't pin him down anymore. He'd broken free from his digital echo chamber, finding something raw and real in its place.]
[The next morning, as a young woman settled into the seat next to him on the subway, he noticed her mouthing words to whatever was playing through her purple headphones. Instead of retreating into his own playlist, he tapped her shoulder.]
"저기요," 그가 말했다, "뭘 듣고 계세요?"
["Hey," he said, "what are you listening to?"]
[Her face lit up, and another musical journey began.]
[The story ends not with a perfect playlist, but with an endless appetite for discovery. Jin learned that the best songs aren't the ones that sound familiar, but the ones that make you lean in closer, that make you ask questions, that remind you how vast and varied the human experience can be.]
[His thumb still hovers over the screen each morning, but now it trembles with anticipation rather than habit, ready to press play on someone else's world.]

Dear, Loren.
CHAPTER 7
Recently, Loren's father's business became extremely popular, attracting not only Indonesian customers but also international clients. Every day, his business earns around $30, and it's steadily increasing until he reaches $10,000! Loren is so happy to hear this news. She has always prayed to Allah for her father's business to thrive and prosper.
Their lives changed significantly. They continued fixing Pinus, their second house. Fixing Bb house along with all the adult responsibilities that Loren didn't quite understand. But in the end, Lauren and Loren finally had their own room! So happy for them! Even their parents gave them $3000 for pocket money. She finally had her own digital pays and card.
On that day, Father, Mommy, Lauren, and Loren visited one of the Apple stores in their city. She felt rich, lol. They purchased the newest iPhone Pro Max, iPads, and MacBooks for Lauren and Loren. Their father also bought an iPhone Pro Max and a MacBook. She felt a deep sense of gratitude and happiness filling her body, mind, and heart.
She couldn't believe that this was happening. In her heart, she often expressed gratitude, saying, "Alhamdulillah," "MasyaAllah, tabarakallah," and "Thank You so much, Ya Allah." On the way home, she looked at the bag filled with their new phones, tablet, and laptop. She felt a surge of happiness as she silently smiled at Lauren. Lauren returned the smile, and it was clear that they both felt overwhelmed with joy and disbelief.
At home, they needed to synchronize the data from their old phones to the new iPhones. Once they finished, she went to her room to admire her iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. She gave each device a kiss and expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much for everything, ya Allah." She prayed that the fortune Allah had given her and her family would bring great benefits and blessings to their lives. She hoped they would use their devices for good and become better people.
Afterward, she opened the camera and took some pictures. Then, she visited a marketplace to browse for phone cases and iPads. She remembered that she had saved some iPhone cases on her wishlist. A fun fact about Loren is that she prefers clear cases because she enjoys decorating them with stickers. As a result, she mostly buys clear cases. The available options include: a standard clear case, a clear case with a mini door on the back, a clear case with a pocket available in white, black, peach, and hot pink frames, a clear case with silver and pink metallic frames, a clear case with pink and silver glitter frames, a clear case with white and black frames, and a clear case with a pink frame featuring metallic and diamond embellishments on the boba design. Additionally, she also purchased some coquette designs and phone accessories.
Next, she searched for an iPad case. She remembered that she had saved a video of a girl showcasing an iPad case that had caught Loren’s attention, which is why she saved it. She also had a few iPad cases on her wishlist. In the video, the girl mentioned a marketplace link for iPad cases. She decided to purchase a silver swivel case with a keyboard, a clear rotating case, and a bag for her iPad and MacBook.
She also purchased many stickers and planned to print some pictures to turn them into stickers. After she finished checking out her shopping, she said, “Alhamdulillah, MasyaAllah, Tabarakallah, thank you so much, Allah, for everything You have given me.” When Loren was about to sleep, she looked at the wall and giggled, feeling incredibly happy about her day!

Introducing, The One Adorned in Shades of Grey
In the somber mist of dawn, where whispers of dreams fade into the grey, lies a world of quiet introspection. It's in the subtle nuances of shadow and light that we find the depth of our existence, the beauty of our journey. Grey, neither black nor white, but a delicate balance between the two, embodies the essence of life's complexities.
Makhiel Joe Schalber
Greetings! Makhiel Joe Schalber at your service, allowing me to acquaint you somewhat with my personage. You can call me Maki, I'm in my 20+, I'm an Extrovert, and I use He/They as pronouns. I use this account to socialize with new friends, share my writings, share my thoughts, and share other random stuff. So, I don't label my account, nevertheless, I can be friends with other labeled accounts except Real Accounts and Roleplayer Accounts.
Books and writing are my jam. This year I've already finished 2 books, and it will continue. I can read all genres of books, and I've read many of them, but I've never read a biography before. I like reading those from Japanese, Chinese, English, and of course Indonesian authors. Indonesian literature is what I like the most.
I listen to a lot of music genres, from rock, metal, jazz, pop, rap, and others. I listen to songs from bands, both Indonesian and international. I also like listening to classical music and lo-fi as balms to soothe my turbulent mind.
Tumblr media
I don't have any rules that make it difficult for you. I really like and care about you, that's why I suggest not to interact with me because my account is not safe for minors (there will be a lot of adult conversations in it).

Exploring the aesthetics and meaning behind the 41st selected work of Denny Ja: the strongest light
The 41st Denny Ja art exhibition with the title “The strongest Light” has become a hot topic among Indonesian art lovers. This exhibition features the chosen work of an artist known for his unique vision and courage in experimenting.    Denny JA, a multitalented artist, has long been known as a figure who has a deep thought about art and aesthetics. In this exhibition, he presented the work that reflects his thinking and life journey that reached the peak point in the “strongest light”.    One of the works that attract attention is the essay poem entitled “Enlightenment”. In this essay poem, Denny JA uses unique techniques by combining oil paint with photography elements. The result is a mysterious but captivating work, with a combination of colors and textures that describe a person’s spiritual journey into light.    In addition, this exhibition also featured an astonishing art installation entitled “MimpimiKu”. Denny JA uses various media, such as glass, wood, and light, to create extraordinary visual experiences. Visitors are invited to enter a room full of light, bringing them into a color world that is full of color and imagination.    Not only that, Denny Ja also presents interesting photography works, such as a black and white photo of “self -exploration”. In this photo, Denny Ja uses dramatic lighting techniques to highlight emotional facial expressions. Through this work, he invited the audience to reflect on their own identity and journey of life.    In this exhibition, Denny Ja also presented three -dimensional artwork that attracted the attention of the audience. One of them is a statue titled “Darkness Past”. By using metals and other solid materials, Denny Ja created a statue that represents a person’s journey through a difficult time in his life. This work reminds us that even in darkness, there is the strongest light that can produce beauty and meaning.    Through this exhibition, Denny Ja managed to arouse feelings and trigger thoughts in the audience. Untitled The Mask of the Imperial Family 1981, Mimic (Bandcamp)
The Mask of the Imperial Family/Yasuo Sugibayashi has a small but somewhat tangled discography: two 7” EPs as Yasuo in 1980 and 1982, and between them this 12” which has been variously credited as a self-titled or untitled record by the Mask of the Imperial Family, and on a 2017 reissue as Yasuo Sugibayashi—The Mask of the Imperial Family. (More confusingly still, the reissue is a mix of tracks from the three releases, and as they’re all untitled I don’t know which is which.) This is very minimal early electronic/industrial music. Although the tracks share a gloomy, at times outright sinister ambiance, the recordings cover a lot of ground. Sugibayashi primarily used a Roland System 100m modular synthesizer and an electric guitar, but he also blends in more exotic musical elements from time to time.

The first two tracks are austere bleep-bloop proto-techno that isn’t wildly far off Manuel Gottsching’s E2-E4, with Sugibayashi using his electric guitar as an additional beat element, joined by a decaying synth (or vocal?) line that flaps around in the background like a ghost’s tattered robes. Better still are the middle tracks, which more explicitly take on Eastern sounds. “Untitled 3” is a lurching odd-time beast that incorporates metallic percussion. It probably takes influence from some Japanese form I’m not familiar with, but it puts me in mind of the clangorous rhythms of Indonesian gamelan. The lengthy, comparatively sunny “Untitled 5” features almost folky electric guitar over what sounds like a digeridoo sample amid whirring industrial noise. The reissue closes off with “Untitled 6,” an unsettling, tape-hiss ridden evocation of classical Japanese music and taiko drums that is also strongly reminiscent of a washing machine running with a pair of shoes in it.

The Mask of the Imperial Family’s bold, geometric cover has the kind of iconic design sensibility a forbidden book about like time-travel or human experimentation would have in an ‘80s horror film, so it’s no wonder reissue label Lullabies for Insomniacs makes a point to refer to its occult” nature. Is that what Sugibayashi was going for? I don’t know. But the album is certainly an evocative, moody listen, and it will hold just about any interpretation your mind feels like mapping onto its impassive azure and black mien.
