Astral Fortress was formed on June 22, 2023 by 18 year old virtuoso Richard DeBerry. Named after the 2022 Darkthrone release, Astral Fortress originally formed as an instrumental project with heavy influence from Black Metal giants Emperor and Burzum, focusing on heavy use of synths and atmospheric elements, but soon took a more depressive sound that is more influenced by DSBM and Doom Metal bands like Xasthur and Bell Witch. Overtime, Astral Fortress released numerous albums within a span of only a year, experimenting with different genres and styles. From black metal to dark ambient, Astral Fortress is an atmospheric powerhouse! This album implements a lot of gothic elements, creating a cold and melancholic atmosphere similar to bands such as NONE and ColdWorld. Lots of cool riffs, leads, and synths!! Astral Fortress takes a whole new approach towards atmospheric black metal with this release, going above and beyond Astral Fortress' early work.

Agony by Default is a solo studio project from Laramie, WY musician and engineer Matthew Brammer. AbD originally began as a melodic deathcore/deathgrind project in early 2013, but changed gears quickly and became predominantly known for its unique blend of melodic and blackened death metal with a wide variety of influences. By 2020, Agony by Default finally shifted closer to melodic black metal. The first Agony by Default album in over three years, it's a fitting follow up to the breakthrough 2021 album "A Serenade For Eternity".
