Nine tailed fox!Fushiguro x Human!Itadori

I've got a lot of ramblings so I'll leave it under the cut

I think when they first meet Itadori thinks he’s a cosplayer or something 💀 And Fushiguro’s insisting his tails and ears are real but Itadori just thinks that he’s answering in character or somethinng.

And by foxes I mean they're kemonomimis, so mostly human with a few fox traits.

Fushiguro’s only half fox so his life span’s pretty similar to that of a human’s. Gojo is a full fox so he’s pretty old but if he was a human he’ll be almost 30 (like in canon).

Their tails grow in as the age so Fushiguro only has 2 rn. Gojo has all 9. Also bc of his genetics Fushiguro might not be able to grow all 9, but I haven’t decided yet.

Im gonna lean pretty heavily into Japanese folklore with this one in terms of lore :] (Partially bc I want to do more research on my own culture and the best way to do that is to tie it to one of my special interests.) All that I know rn is that foxes are seen as messengers, and good omens in Shintoism.

I also need to look up what the traditional garb for Shinto priests are bc thats what their jobs are. (Generally speaking bc they can't actually reveal themselves to humans. Fushiguro and Gojo do that anyway but shh.) They're protecters of the shrine, and can perform miracles.

I need to draw them to figure out the colours bc colours and my brain don’t go well together. And by that I mean that I will just forget everything I learned about fashion and what colours I just chose a second ago.

Whatever colours I choose, Gojo will always have purple somewhere in all his outfits. Bc Geto has purple eyes :3 He has his work outfit and a few others, some being bought by Geto. So he does have clothes other than kimonos. Fushiguro does too but he doesn't go out bc humans are scary. (Gojo was trying to teach him stranger danger as a kid and it was just a little too effective.)

Also I have this scene in mind of Fushiguro’s tail growing in but it’s kinda horror adjacent. Bc it’s like describing the bones and tissue growing in, in real time. My senses when it comes to horror is kinda busted so idk how bad most people would say it is.

It’s like titans materializing from thin air in attack on titan. But it’s just a tail. Is that horror tho? Does that count? I will tag it as such for people who want to avoid it but idk if it really counts.

Also I need to think of courting rituals for these guys bc Itadori has been kinda doing that unintentionally since day 1. He thinks he's hiding his crush really well but he's not doing that in the slightest 💀 He thinks he's just being a good friend by bringing him human food and other gifts. (Food as a metaphor for love my beloved.)

Idk where to put this (none of this is really organized anyway) but the foxes can shape shift, (like how they can in Shintoism). They have a human-ish form, and a fox form. I haven't decided if they can hide their animal features as a human or not, or if they can hide their tails as a fox. They probably won't be able to just to cause problems. (Also they were never meant to blend into human society in the first place.)

I just have a lot of little scenes rn so idk when I'll actually start writing it but I have ideas.
