OCtober Day 14 - Who/What inspired your OCs I don't really ever deliberately base my OCs on existing characters, but I definitely do so subconsciously - at this point rereading a book I loved as a kid, or re-watching a show I was obsessed with years ago, will always inevitably lead to me going 'wait a fucking second. is my OC just (previous blorbo)???' at some point - tbh its extremely funny every time, I wouldn't change a thing
took this as an excuse to draw my two favourite ocs interacting with the characters I think most influenced their personalities - Gabriel and Rincewind (Discworld) are probably bitching about whatever quest the universe has bullied them into against their will, and Viamo, Regis (The Witcher), and Giles (Buffy) are probably all extremely confused as to why none of their vampire knowledge seems to line up, despite the fact they all claim to be experts on the subject.

#degrassi#saad al'maliki#this one has been cooking in my drafts for a while#in case it wasnt obvious from the fact that this video is months old#anyways in case it needs reiterating yes saad is in fact the best brooding artsy boy this show has ever had#well maybe not BEST i still prefer eli over him but definitely the most interesting#i made a post on this a long while ago but i love Him and he deserved so much more#on rewatch im definutely more disappointed that his story ended up making him an extention of lola#even though i reslly liked their relationship. i just wish there was more of a focus on him and not how he relates to lola#and my other major problem w his storyline that isnt even his own fault#is that the person to heckle him when he gave that speech was fucking BAAZ#that part pisses me off bc i love baaz and i hate how the show constantly bends his character to make him worlds biggest asshole#bc baaz despite being less devout than his sister is a muslim#and is literally HOUSING A REFUGEE like out of the entire gamer crew he wld be the most supportive#but thats about baaz anyways back fo saad#i think the best part about saad over eli or craig or miles is that his angst feels more. idk. heavy#not that being abused by a parentsl figure or having a severe mental illness or suffering addiction isnt heavy#but saad being a traumatized refugee from a war torn country . its so#its heavy and its just so real idk maybe im biased bc my parents also come from a war torn country but it just Hits#and the way he processes his grief and trauma through his photography#and his unhealthy relationship w maya where rhey feed off each others trauma i cld talk about that all day#hes so tragic to Me the little spoingly#saad doesnt get mentioned in this three way angsty white boy debate bc hes not white and he came in too late into the series#to finish his arc properly#but i will ride for him til i DIE his NC4 storyline was soo fucking GOOD#he never gets the praise he deserves i will praise U my pookie!!!!!!

what are your thoughts on the hyuga siblings and their relationship
OOF now thats one of my favorite naruto dynamics lmao. i think neji and hinata have a very interesting relationship and i say that as someone who really didn't (and tbh still doesn't) love how that relationship developed in canon
i really like the hyuga fight in the chunin exams because the way it's perceived is sooo interesting to me.. neji comes off as an outright bully and i don't even blame the kids for calling him an asshole after all of that, but from reader's perspective it's really obvious that his animosity only exists because of a larger issue...
neji shouldn't treat hinata the way he does, but he does so because of her unique position as a scorned heir. she still benefits from everything that makes his life awful - her life is still valued more than his - but hiashi hates her enough that he won't care if neji dishes out verbal abuse on her. it's an awful dynamic and definitely contributes to hinata's terrible self-worth, but it's a symptom of the life they have been forced into by the man who the manga is intent on letting escape all of the blame for this situation lmao
(hiashi himself can be a really fascinating case honestly. i think he fully means everything he says, which is what makes him so grating but fun to me LOL. his apology to neji is entirely sincere AND it completely misses the point of all of the issues, but neji is young and deprived of acknowledgement enough that he accepts it wholeheartedly. hiashi thinks he's the best uncle of all time.)
hinata herself has so little belief in her own worth that she just sits there and takes whatever abuse people throw at her... i don't actually think neji's anger towards her was a constant - i think some people interpret it that way - rather i feel like it was something that came up whenever he was pushed too far. in more normal circumstances where he's not being made to fight her directly, he was likely more detached than anything. he wanted nothing to do with her.
in one of the filler mini arcs ive mentioned before (i think. the one that focuses on hanabi and hinata) there's a scene that rang very true to me (and im gonna recount this without rewatching it atm so sorry if i get details wrong,): neji was being made to train with hinata, asked to be allowed to leave because he felt his time was being wasted and correctly noted that it doesn't have to be him here, was told no by hiashi and then he started getting vicious and violent. towards hinata, of course, not hiashi. he then got horribly punished for it LOL i think that's the general dynamic they were living in, neji reaches a limit of disrespect that he can take and explodes on the nearest most acceptable target (we loove a boy with no emotional regulation <3), goes too far and suffers the consequence of it while nothing else changes. to him interacting with hinata at all is just asking for pain, either emotional or straight up physical
But, for hinata, she saw herself and neji as similar (the black sheep of the family i suppose), and would have liked to bond over that fact; theyve known each other since they were very little and she outright refers to him as a brother. it's clear to me she's always cared a lot about neji and imo feels responsible for what happened to his father (something that hiashi doesn't help with. Dad of the year), so she saw their match in the exams as a chance to close the distance between them and get neji to see her as a person, an equal instead of a symbol to lash out on.
but, you know, she was 12 LMAO so she ended up pressing all of his buttons instead and it led to his famous outburst, which led to the famous moment of Every Single Jonin (other than asuma.) coming to stop him and further cementing his belief that her life is seen as special. i think (and this is a mix of Shit I Made up, and Me trying to make sense of the manga's insane mishandling of their plotline) that despite her trying her hardest to reach neji she didn't really grasp the horror of his situation. that's the tragedy of neji's life really LMAO, no one really tries to grapple with the severity of what having that curse mark does to a person. she thought of his fatalism as more of a psychological, metaphorical way of dealing with hurt and not like... "my life literally does not belong to me no matter how much i try to fight it"
this is loooooong take this readmore.
i think hiashi-hizashi were hoping that the cousins could have had a better relationship than they did... letting them hang out often and stuff, introducing them early, hizashi not discouraging neji from being friendly with her, to me it all reads as very "ok well this didn't work for Us, but what if it works out for them... even though literally nothing has changed". they were proper family once and hizashi wanted to die for his brother, not his leader, so that just makes sense to me.
i do nautttt like the naruto vs neji fight so to keep the post positive i will gloss over it <3 but hinata and neji's relationship post-chunin exams to me is peak like. God i wish this was done better because it could have been soooo good
neji realizes that his anger is consuming him and adjusts his behavior accordingly, getting a lot of his kindness back, and he becomes intent on fixing his relationship with hinata... i don't hate that premise at all, it's just the way it's executed that bothers me!
the impression i got (and i could be mistaken im in the process of rewatching the anime + rereading the manga) is that their relationship getting better is done exclusively through like. neji repenting for being mean to her. which, don't get me wrong, he SHOULD apologize (AND THAT WOULDVE BEEN A COOL THING TO SEE ONSCREEN, BTW) but you CANNOT divorce his behavior from the hyuga system in general. from the way they act after the exams you would think their issues were born solely from neji being a bully for no reason, and not, like... him lashing out on her because his uncle is literally the devil.
i don't think hinata has the power to change a lot in her clan on short notice (she did get disowned. did that un-happen offscreen? we will never know. Hiashi gets to be a grandfather to her children btw.) but i certainly would have liked to see her standing up for branch members and in the stuff i draw that's the story i have in mind LMAO. like, her gaining a deeper understanding of neji's situation and trying to work against her father trying to make her cousin's life better? i think that would have been really sweet and even show her gaining more confidence in herself and her beliefs. you can still have neji fussing over her and being protective because he feels bad for how they used to be, i actually really like that because neji IS a very sweet person, i just reject the idea that it's his sole Moral Obligation to put everything aside and make things better by the power of I Will Die For You Now, But This Time, For The Right Reasons
as for hanabi i wish she had more screentime soooo bad because i'm obsessed with how she gives off Haunted Child vibes lmfao. talking abt her requires me to expose myself a little bit and have to admit hiashi is kind of a blorbo to me because of how much he sucks ass, but like. Essentially his insane resentment of hinata was born when hizashi died, it doesnt matter it wasn't really her fault, he needed someone to blame and he would never blame himself, at least not outwardly lol. hiashi did genuinely love his brother, it just didn't stop him from being a monster to him, and he is certainly not gonna grapple with that now that he's dead!
(and, you know, the whole "sorry we sent a guy to kidnap an heir. you do need to die for killing him though" thing is really dumb but if we stop at every single stupid thing in naruto we will be here all day.)
with all that being said i think hiashi tries his best to make hanabi everything hinata isn't, and he has very little interest in having her and hinata have any bond at all. he just left neji and hinata to fester in that god-awful dynamic with no supervising, and took hanabi as the best direction for the clan to head towards. but, you know, father of the year is very demanding and doesn't seem to be very fatherly to her at all from the little we see of them. she's just like. a good soldier, and that's what he needs.
i think hanabi growing to resent her sister for the situation she's been put into (if hinata weren't 'weak' she wouldn't have so much responsibility) is very interesting! by the time we meet her i think she's learned that the best thing to do wrt her sister is to just ignore that she exists. as for neji he barely registers as a presence to her; neji has no reason to interact with her and hiashi has no reason to incentivize it. it's very fun to me!
in general i really like all of their dynamics can be used to explore how hurt and trauma drive people apart, i could talk about them for hourssss LMAO i love the suna family for the same reason!

sherlock season one analysis ramble (feat. johnlock. a lot of johnlock.)
ok so i had a sleepover with my best friend and she may or may not have introduced me to bbc sherlock and i may or may not have gone on an hour-long tangent (after watching ONE EPISODE) about johnlock that i cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER but im just gonna keep typing and see what bullshit i end up with. also i have only watched season one, and we are going to rewatch it before moving on to season two because!! I JUST WATCHED LIKE FIVE HOURS OF TWO MEN FLIRTING. THEY ARE SO IN LOVE ABHUDFGNZMRNCGAJBghnsccbHVHAUVHAAAAAAAAAAAUGHH
shit ok so, ahugsabhfbdn okokokokok so i'm going to yap in two sections (mainly, they will cross over and blur at one point and i will not apologise for that), one regarding mainly sherlock and one mainly regarding john, because both their characters are so incredibly complex and interesting (aaaaahhh)
firstly, sherlock
he is... so incredibly interesting. he investigates crime because it excites him, not because he's concerned for the wellbeing of others- no, he wants to get into the criminal's head, to understand. he states that he is married to his work, but what i see there isn't love; what kickstarted it was likely this need to know what was off about a case, like an itch he desperately needed to scratch, which then developed into a habit, a passion, and then a(n unhealthy) obsession - at least, that's how i see it. venturing into more johnlock territory, to me, john is definitely his first love. i see him with past relationships, but i think he would've had them because that is what is standard and expected, but it was never truly love, you know? this is why we get the flirting-but-not-flirting when he's talking to john, because he's used to flirting, he knows how to, he just has to get accustomed to the new feelings that now come with flirting. i also believe he's definitely not a virgin, he gives far too much power bottom energy (the way i see it, john def tops and sherlock is being a flirty brat until he actually gets flustered and gets hit with the "oh shoot, he's hot")
this kind of brings me to john, though i'll probably get back to sherlock when i actually remember what else i have to say
john was immediately my favourite character, he's... i lack the words to describe him properly in the moment but HES INCREDIBLE AND I LOVE HIM. having been a soldier and a doctor, he is more stoic and reserved than sherlock, definitely braver, while sherlock is just stupid but never has to face the consequences due to his brilliance; how my friend put it was "if he was an average person, he'd die first in a horror movie, but since he's sherlock holmes there's no way he wouldn't survive". this gives us a lovely contrast of character which is wonderful as it paves the way to so many corny ship dynamics and tropes that i will be taking advantage of. firstly, i want to draw attention to the fact that while john makes himself as small as possible, sherlock wants to occupy and cover as much room as he possibly can - this also leads to john being more sturdy and reliable while sherlock spreads himself just a little too thin.
i do think it's interesting that in hindsight, throughout this section i have mainly analysed john's character by comparing him to and showing the contrast between him and sherlock, which, ironically, also tells us a lot about him as an individual. he is always second to sherlock, to others, because without someone else to bring attention to him he'd be able to live practically unnoticed by anyone - this can be attributed to his trust issues and lack of people he can, or wants to, rely on. this is especially funny when you consider his hesitance to trust people in the context of sherlock. because while he may not trust him, completely, he's definitely already developed this form of unwavering loyalty. one of my favourite scenes where this is shown is in episode one (i think ?) where when sgt. donovan warns john about sherlock, he is so quick to doubt her, his "why?" is so fast and delivered with such intent and confidence it shook me, and left me with such a lasting impression it is still such a core line i associate with him.
next i want to touch on just how much gay (johnlock) subtext there actually is, especially in the first and third episodes, because trust me when i say there is a lot. i obviously won't be able to explain and analyse all of the gay scenes as there are far too many but i will try, and will spend the most time on my favourites. firstly, within 24 hours (i think) of meeting him, john watson has killed a man for sherlock. what the fuck.
[insert 15-ish minute break where i paced around the kitchen muttering to myself like a lunatic]
this man is, somehow, in a way that even he can't comprehend or understand, completely devoted to helping sherlock. "why??" you ask? because he is also a fucking madman. he isn't traumatised by, but rather misses the war, and to get back to that sense of adrenaline and excitement he is willing to go around with a (technically) unqualified, unemployed detective who is thrilled by serial murders and bombings. though he might look at sherlock differently, or even so much as get scared by his attitude towards his their line of work, he gets off on it as much as sherlock, and the only reason he hasn't left, like a normal, sensible individual who values their life would've is because he too indulges in the thrill of the chase, and is very content to be able to marvel at sherlock's skill and hang onto his every word*, though he refuses to admit this to himself, as he seems to value independence pretty highly. this is interesting in contrast to sherlock because while he too values independence, he seems to not mind relying on others - that is, until you consider his refusal to trust in or rely on the police, professional organisations, other detectives, etc. this is when you notice that the people he doesn't seem to mind relying on are himself, and john.
*again with the complete and utter devotion. also half of season one is just john listening to and being in awe of sherlock's rambling.
i just got very sidetracked, though i'm still technically on topic (and still typing) so i count that as a win. in episode one, when john and sherlock go to the restaurant (i vaguely remember it being for something relating to the case but that's besides the point), their conversation basically goes like this:
john: so... do you have a girlfriend?
sherlock: no, not really my area (im gay haha) (...but why is he asking me this? [gears turning]
wait.)
john: (oK, OK OK)... do you have a boyfriend? that's cool btw im uh... ally! woo (im gay. i'm GAY)
sherlock: (oh sHIT he's hitting on me) *fast* i know its cool (I KNOW YOU'RE GAY)
john: (ah, ok *resignation*) so you have a boyfriend-?
sherlock: *way too quickly* no
john: (OH, :0) so you're single - i'm single btw too (what the actual FUCK am i doingggg)
Then we have 1) sherlock just rocking up to john's date
and 2) THE MORIARTY POOL SCENE
i can't even EXPRESS how incredibly i was giggling and squealing and kicking my feet im sorry??? as soon as he thinks jim is gone and he can drop the calm and composed act he- i-
[thoughts then proceeded to refuse to let themselves be expressed in writing so here have a video clip]
youtube
moriarty: i am going to burn, the HEART, out of you
sherlock, completely apathetic/used to people telling him he's too heartless/cold/etc.: i have been reliably informed that i don't have one
moriarty, after seeing him completely flip out (internally) when he saw john in the bomb vest with a sniper pointed at him: but we both know that's not quite true
(^^ i don't know that quote just stuck out to me. a lot.)
another thing, that, now having rewatched i am able to string into coherent thought, is sherlock as soon as moriarty is gone is concerned with nothing other that is john okay? is he alright? will he be alright? he doesn't seem to be able to recognise that his life was on the line as well, because he doesn't think his own safety is nearly as important as john's. (godAMMIT THIS MAN)
alright, thank you for coming to my ted talk, i have more thoughts that didn't make it to this rant that i will likely post over the duration of the next few weeks, but that is the majority. thoughts? :)
BONUS FOR READING TO THE END

i know that there is a lot of people out there that believe that wills love towards mike in season 4 is forced, and i just wanna say, if you truly believe that, you most definitely need to take a rewatch.
its literally the least forced thing ever. its been THERE infront of our faces since the first episode, the only difference is that they revealed it in season 4 and started putting more light on it. there is a clear difference between forced inclusivity in shows, and actual well written storylines. forced inclusivity is half assed, not taken seriously, and for the most part only there for fan service. but wills love towards mike is genuinely a beautifully written example of queer love especially during the 80's. i have seen so many queer people out there talking about how much they relate to will, and you dont really see people talking about how they relate to forced inclusive characters.
i dont understand why people are against it so much. dont get me wrong, i used to ship mileven until season 3 when it became obvious that they are not compatible, and they make each other feel like shit. i absolutely love eleven as a character, like thats my girl. and if her ending up with mike in the end was the best for her character then i would absolutely want that for her, but thats just simply not the case, thats why a lot of people ship byler and are against mileven.
if you actually pay attention, you can see that mike/will being the end couple makes wayyyy more sense and is actually the better option. i hate when people just look at everything from surface level. "oh sad traumatized queer boy pines for his straight best friend who is in love with another girl."
like no, it's so much more complex than that, mike is such a more complex character. and there are many analysis' on here that will back up everything im saying, so maybe take some time to read them and you will understand why mike/will is the better couple.
thank u if you read all this

Do you have any fav soviet Holmes episodes in particular?
*sweats heavily*
Ookay
If i have to choose, i definitely would look into the earlier episodes, as they are better. I mean, i barely remember what the latest episodes were about, and I’ve been rewatching the last month.
Well, i really like two parts of the series: the first episode, with mottled ribbon case, as the meet of Sherlock and Watson is played out remarkably good, and Baskerville episodes.
The latter… they just stand out to me due to the beautiful fusion of music/vibe/editing. Soviet Sherlock just… managed to show the Baskerville case in a r e a l l y beautiful way. On the verge of supernatural, magical, mysterious and dangerous, the story slowly lures you in with how different it is from any other part of the series… it is almost like a fairytale…… and it’s so freaking romantic, by all means im enthralled by Baskerville eps the most.
Shortly on the vibes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
UGHHH I REMEMBERED, THE COLOURS, THE CREEPY ATMOSPHERE - watson and sherlock really had to kiss in the middle of the haunted mires. Really would’ve elevated the plot. You know.
I mean, they also have more characters there, the ones which are really to remember, incredibly lovable - take Sir Henry at least. Their friendship with Watson. Them getting drunk in the castle.
Soviet Baskerville is some really well written fanfic. i say.
Anyway listen to this soundtrack for yourself and CHECK THE EPS ON YT

MORE BYLER SYMBOLISM
Ok so like I said before I’m currently rewatching Stranger Things, I am now on S4 E2 and I am noticing SO MUCH STUFF I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE
This is a very small detail I just thought it was something fun to point out—
First, the song choice is Tarzan Boy which we all know what this is about I’m guessing by now, bc I know the bylers have analyzed the heck out of the Rink-O-Mania scene, but for a reminder what it’s about:
Tumblr media
Yep.
Ok so we get the song playing right:
Tumblr media
Then we get this little fun Extra popping up on screen with some interesting colors:
Tumblr media
Yeah, people wear blue and yellow in the show all the time, doesn’t mean that specific person, object, thing is symbolism to byler…
Well in this case it most definitely is a hint/symbol —whatever you wanna call it to byler bc of the one word that it on his shirt.
‘Dude’
Tumblr media
Not to mention this Extra is sporting a nice looking hair cut what looks like Will’s…
But even down to the socks, which yellow is on top, closing the blue in—same with the shirt and pants, all the yellow is around the blue.
Yellow is more open — Will being more comfortable with his sexuality, or accepting of his feelings towards Mike that are real and genuine
Blue is closed in — Mike still not sure what is going on with how he is feeling about his sexuality, if he’s in love with his friend or not
… Im reaching again, aren’t I?
Thanks for reading, I’m going crazy 💛💙

just a little thing i noticed!! spoilers for danganronpa despair time chapter 2 :)
i was rewatching a little bit, as i havent kept up with the series in a while and needed a recap. i screenshotted the rules because i got an odd feeling.
Tumblr media
i noticed something. rule 14 is a bit vague. it says:
'All murderers must be held accountable for their crimes.'
i know this is definitely supposed to refer to execution but it gives me a weird feeling idk i feel like there could be a twist to this? again, could be for a more sinister effect, but the rules of the blackened and what happens in the case of a murder are explained earlier, in rules 2, 3 and 4.
so i had a bit of a thought?
we know that levi is a murderer, right? he admitted it himself.
rule 14 says all murderers must be held accountable for their actions, not just blackeneds. levi said he was never held accountable for his actions, because hope's peak cleared them or something i forgot?
so isn't levi technically breaking a rule??
sorry if im kind of clutching at straws here but i feel like this would be a good twist, like maybe him and ace get executed together considering ace is a blackened and levi supposedly admitted to breaking school rules
not sure tho, even if it was true monotv has been lax on rules, he let arei put a rope around his neck etc i don't think it's too likely
any feedback on this? tagging it as a theory, but it's more of a rant thingy :D

one thing i'm fascinated with is how after betty made her wish and reset the crown, gunter/orgalorg seemed to physically FUSE with the crown, making it so it can never be taken off or used by anyone else (simon) in ooo ever again
Tumblr media
farmworld finn was cured of his crown curse by prismo (in the funniest fucking way to address an animation error ever) removing the crown and placing it back on corpse simon's head before the bomb detonated again, removing it from the playing-field of the farmworld reality im assuming
Tumblr media
my guess is that in every universe they venture to they're going to find one reason or another why simon can't access the crown again, all as an extension of betty's wish
... and going back to the subject of her wish
rewatching 'come along with me' got me thinking again. the line from betty's failed wishes to "banish golb from ooo" or for him to "disappear", that golb is "too powerful, even for the crown", it makes me think her assessment of the situation wasn't completely accurate. we know that wish magic is super powerful, but in the crown's case it needed to resonate with the deepest desire of the wearer - which in betty's case was having "the power" to keep simon safe
prior to her wish, she referred to golb's magic as "the most powerful force in the universe", which she was trying to use for the purpose of saving him. i'm wondering if maybe the pre-requisite for making a wish to banish golb/have control over him—the "most powerful force in the universe"—would be having to re-write reality itself to give someone else a level of power above even golb. with that in mind, this now kind of looks like a being above golb taking over his mind and possessing him instead of a straightforward fusion of the two
Tumblr media
one thing keeping me rolling with this theory is that in the flash of golb before accidentally portal-ing cake, we see pre-wish golb's eyes flash, not the eyes of golb as we last saw them, and we do see them in prismo's time room.
Tumblr media
my conspiracy theory that im definitely wrong about is that i dont think she actually fused with golb, i think she's actually something beyond comprehension now: a force in the universe that can control even the most powerful beings like golb, hold dominion over the multiverse, she can overwrite them and force them to obey her one and only command: get your fucking hands off my cringefail malewife this instant

i've found your account only a few days ago but ever since then I've been STUCK here rereading your fanfics, especially ones with damian. i wasn't even a dc fan (heard about some stuf, watched some films and cartoons, but that's it) but now im reading comics since im Obsessed and need more batboys in my life (rip my productivity😔)
Anyway, after Sleepover i'm curious what will Bruce (and maybe even Thalia) think of batboys strange behaviour towards reader. He's smart, so he definitely notices it early on, but how he'll react....
I can see him being weirded out (like he was by Jason's anger issues, before his death), but he also can be an enabler, since Robin (literaly any of them) had a hard life, so if those relationships can help him why not pretend that everything is normal? you'll be safer in a Wayne's Manor anyway
All in all, thanks for a new hyperfixation 💞💞
P.s. About games:
1. Boyfriend to death 1&2 - since you're into yanderes you might want to check this game out. I prefer the second game, but the first is also fun. But beware the trigger warnings!!
2. Long live the Queen - more of a raising sim than dating sim but you still can romance some guys and girls.
,3. Hatoful Boyfriend - mostly a comedy, but there is a yandere.
4. The Royal Trap - it's been a long time since i played it, but it used to be one of my favorites so i'll just mention it.
5. Higurashi - once again not really a romance sim, but its an interesting horror mixed with a slice of life
;A; AWWWW THANK YOU IM SO HAPPY YOU LIKE MY STUFF.... THAT MAKES ONE OF US GIJSDOFAFGHFOJDSD
and yes yes get into DC!!! (girl who hasnt even read a full run since like. injustice)
damn now you got me thinking and excited. incoming spiel
i agree entirely about bruce just knowing how Bad things can get, so to make things simpler, he's like "yes, your darling(s) can stay in the manor, boys. 🙄"
mmm yes..... when it comes to bruce noticing the batboys are yandere, i think it's always sinfully delightful to just have him be reluctantly okay with it. 😈 it's also easier narratively ngl but i also like the idea that the batfam is all just corrupted.
bruce's thoughts are that they (his sons) fight for vengeance and justice but this is where they could use some leeway.... we all need our vice... they fight so hard for gotham, they deserve a little treat (getting rid of your human rights)... it's very "Dad who wants his sons to have happiness even if its not healthy" of him. in fics where bruce is a yandere, well, he's the exact same way so he can't judge. although if that's the case, i like the idea of bruce just being like "yes what we do isn't right. let's not talk about it. just don't kill <3"
still wondering what i like more. a yan!bruce who's self aware what he's doing is wrong but he just refuses to think about it. or a yan!bruce that justifies it all because of his paranoia, Tower of Babel style (if you don't know, that's when it's revealed batman has plans to subdue/kill the justice league just in case they go rogue.)
for the batboys depends on their personality... for damian, he's so resolute in things that i prefer when he just believes 100% what he's doing is okay, if not actually righteous. ^_^
hmmm talia.... I'M STILL UNSURE HOW I PREFER THAT AS WELL... i think talia being a you-arent-good-enough-for-my-son mom is a little cliche but also. she kinda would say that. you'd have to prove your worth somehow but idk how tf darling would do that LOL. in the end, i think talia is just relieved/comforted that her son indeed feels desire and wants love and will continue the family legacy (regardless if youre afab/can biologically have children.)
no THANK YOU FOR THE ASK!!! AND THANKS FOR RECS!!!! heheh yeah ive checked out btd and im not averse to the warnings its more like im not that most of into the designs ngl. fox guy seems cute? AND LMAO FUNNY BC IM ON A HIGURASHI REWATCH (never played it tho)

here's the thing about gravity falls:
i remember being a kid at my cousins house the first time i saw it. i remember being in awe of what i was seeing. i remember watching the inconveniencing and absolutely losing my marbles. i remember that was the day i got hooked.
i remember going home and watching that damn show religiously. i had my parents record every episode, just in case, and then id rewatch the recordings until the new episode would come out.
i remember my little brother becoming hooked as well, watching each episode along with me. i remember the two of us asking our parents what certain jokes meant, only for them to come up with an excuse as fast as they could to preserve our innocence.
i remember running to the tv when the final episode came out. i remember the feeling of not wanting it to be over, but accepting that it was.
then, i remember being in a bookstore with my family, seeing a copy of journal three, and immediately snatching it for myself. i remember reading it in a day and definitely not staying up past my bedtime so i could read.
i remember getting hooked all over again, rewatching the show with my brother when things would get stressful in my house.
cut to 2020 lockdown, i remember rewatching it again with my little brother, for old times sake. i remember watching it on my couch that hadn't moved since the first time we saw weirdmageddon.
now, i'm grown up, and i feel as if gravity falls has grown with me. sure, there were times that the show scared the shit out of me as a kid, but it's nothing compared to what's in the book of bill. however, i can handle it now that im older.
gravity falls is a show about growing up. so, now that its audience has grown up, it's time for a new adventure. i am so excited to see where this leads.

HIIIIII
Omd I love your work so much the analysation between Kaveh and Alhaitham is just so ??? (Beautiful wth I probably read like 99.9% of your work bc I just love reading the analysis between them) literally EVERYTIME you post I get so excited like it just makes me smile
Anyway if it’s not rude to ask, Ive read some of your fanfics about them and I just wanted to ask how you make them so.. accurate? Ive just recently started writing fanfics and do you have any tips?
Also knowing how much you analyse these two are there any like details about them you found out abt the pair? I would normally do it myself but im not even up to the Sumeru archon quest 😭
And another thing, do you have any head canons revolving the two or do you just stick by the canon? (If you do head canons i would LOVE TO HEAR THEM.)
Hope this isnt too much to ask!! (Also ignore my horrible punctuation it’s normally better than this i swear)
Anyway like i said your work is amazing and byebyeeee have a good night/day/afternoon
-🍀
hiya!! AHHHH i'm so glad you enjoy my brainrot analysis of these two <333 i'm way too invested so i'm happy that people are invested in them just as much!! HELPPP now i'm kicking my legs and giggling that's so sweet :'''')
firstly !?!?! thank you for checking out my fics!! and !!!!!! i'm glad you like the characterisation! :'''') when i first got into haikaveh, all i was doing was reading fics before i got to sumeru. i had ideas for writing, but i was way too scared of actually getting them up in full in case they were inaccurate, because i felt that i didn't have a great grasp on their in-game characters? (not that this fear should stop anyone - where would haikaveh nation be without the authors who wrote for haikaveh before kaveh was even released??)
personally i spent a lot of time going over their individual character stories and voice-lines, as well as constantly rewatching character trailer videos and clips where haikaveh are together onscreen, and also apart, so i could start the essay, and this definitely also helped me develop a voice for both of them in fic in terms of dialogue and inner monologues.
for me kaveh's inner monologue is going to be almost the complete opposite of alhaitham's, where kaveh's empathy comes out in overthinking, and is fuelled mainly by emotion as he tries to rationalise his perspective (in relation to interpreting alhaitham), whereas i write alhaitham's inner monologue to be more observation based, and where emotion is implied rather than stated - which i find is used in his character stories, particularly character story 5 where his past is given. although no emotions are mentioned, it's evident how essential his grandmother is to him, only there is no detail about how he felt when losing the last of his family, and having to arrange her funeral, and enrolling in the akademiya when he previously believed it to be boring, and the years spent after his graduation, up until the point where kaveh moves in - in contrast to kaveh's character stories which are extremely detail heavy in these regards.
there's a clear contrast between kaveh and alhaitham's experiencing of emotion in inner monologue, especially when it comes to alhaitham's grandmother's last wishes, as it's an impactful line about her wanting him to lead a peaceful life, and there's no further elaboration on this; the emotion is there to be interpreted, whereas kaveh will be explicit about his exact feelings at the time, and how these feelings change, or don't change.
for me, both are interesting to write, as kaveh's empathy ensures that he will be in constant motion, avidly aware of each shift of mood in any conversation, or aware of a thought that alhaitham might be chasing. if writing when alhaitham and kaveh are not in sync, then justifying kaveh's mindset and his interpretation of alhaitham can fuel the dialogue (whether it be typical banter or strained conversation). on the other hand, alhaitham's emotions are more subtextual, perhaps he'll notice kaveh beginning to frown when working, which shows that alhaitham has been staring at kaveh rather than reading, or something. i interpret his inner monologue as him being thoroughly aware of how he feels towards kaveh, and therefore he has no need to reiterate this when thinking - again, in contrast to kaveh, whose mood and feelings fluctuate depending on those around him.
those are just my personal approaches in case it's of any interest to you! if you're hesitant to write because you feel like things won't be 'in-character', i'd argue that fanfiction as a medium ensures that works can't be in-character as it won't be the game's canon; especially as characters can be reinterpreted for each person depending on the plot and the themes. in general, i'd say write whatever, and however you want, so long as you're writing something. you can come back and edit it later, and you may find that new ideas come to you as you start writing. so long as you're having fun!
as for things i like about them in terms of in-game canon(?), i would say that aside from the writing of their dialogue and their character stories, their arguments on the bulletin board posts around sumeru are so sacred and special! when you get to sumeru i highly recommend running around to find them! it feels very rewarding to click through each post to find alhaitham responding to each and every post that kaveh makes <3
additionally, there's the idea that as alhaitham accidentally created an aesthetically pleasing rug print design, with (supposedly) kaveh doing the same by creating a practical, affordable rug, mirroring each other's traits of artistry vs practicality (thanks to haikavehtimely). the devs being thorough in their haikaveh propaganda is so insane, but if i had made haikaveh i would be doing the exact same thing???
as for design inspiration, the idea of them resembling plato and aristotle in terms of their beliefs is rather interesting?? especially with kaveh talking about beauty having a whole form, in that it's a concept intrinsically understood! especially with their splash art poses in mind (which is written about in the haikaveh bible)
blessed be headcanons! i end up writing them into my fics, but i think the spaces in canon leave a lot to interpretation, so i think i end up working around that? a lot of them are domestic for me, for example, kaveh definitely has a skin/hair routine, and i think while alhaitham may not go to such lengths, he values cleanliness and has a lengthy bath time (alhaitham likes the smells of kaveh's skincare and kaveh likes the subtle smells of alhaitham's bath oils).
also!! that kitchen is TINYYY!! i think it's !?!?!? that alhaitham canonically had that research lab redesigned into a house, and approved a design that had TWO bedrooms, even after kaveh rejected the building?? i think he prioritised his dreams of a reunion over realistic living conventions and that kitchen is atrociously small, and kaveh complains about it all the time and clowns on alhaitham, so they have to scrunch up when cooking, or they establish a cooking schedule, which, a lot of the time, goes out the window, as they go to the tavern or get take away <3
thank you so much for your ask! it was really interesting to explore all these questions, i hope it's been useful to you in any way :''') and thank you for your support!

Touch prompts: “leaning into the other’s side” for Shawn and Juliet
i apologize in advance for the peter pan references my mom rewatched it and they overtook my body before i knew what was happening. anyway this was like 4 different half-formed moment ideas and 3 different half formed thematics that sort of got stitched together - there was a lot of material on the cutting room floor, much of it suited for a very tonally different fic - and im not sure im 100% happy w how it turned out, but im trying to be unserious about it. enjoy!
One morning, three months into dating Shawn, Juliet digs a VHS of Peter Pan out of storage and does her paperwork in the conference room.
Tamara Goldberg is seven and CPS is stuck in the traffic pileup that happened after that semi got flipped over by the salsa dancing studio. Minimal casualties – Vick sent one of her other units – but Juliet is strangely grateful. Tamara (sweet-faced and quiet for her age and giggly when Shawn pretends to pull a packet of fruit gushers out of her ear) needs the distraction: Mom arrested, Dad a nonstarter, Uncle nearly incoherent when they brought him in. Therapy, Juliet thinks – therapy will be good for everyone involved.
Juliet never used to be big into therapy, but the department made her get one last year, and it’s actually kind of helped.
This case, Tamara’s case, was one of those long-haul things that dragged out over the span of two weeks and messed with everyone’s heads. Nothing close to Yin (Juliet does not want to think about Yin, therapy or not), but mundane bad. Can’t stop ‘til it’s figured out bad. There’s a little girl involved, bad. Shawn and Gus definitely slept at the Psych office a couple times (a fact Juliet knows) and Carlton might have slept at the station (something she’s forced to deduce, but Juliet is a good detective), bad. Juliet herself hasn’t had a good night’s sleep in days, hasn’t eaten anything but takeout for a week, and hasn’t had sex with her boyfriend for longer. Kind of hard to get laid when you’re both doing overtime at the same workplace that also happens to have a strict no interoffice dating rule. She’s mostly been too exhausted to dwell on it. It’s over now, almost, anyway.
“There it is, Wendy! Second star to the right and straight on til morning!”
Tamara kicks her feet slightly as the Disney music plays. She’s completely absorbed by the conference room TV, enough that the bustling sounds coming through the half-open door and the scratch of Juliet’s pen on paper don’t bother her. They don’t really bother Juliet either; she likes knowing that everything is mostly back to normal.
“Don’t you two pests have anywhere else to be?”
