To answer this reblog https://www.tumblr.com/molinaskies/756745213630939136/alexs-prompt-folder-anonymously-or-not-tell
This was extremely difficult to answer considering the amount of MOMENTS that had me melting, like the photos in Chapter 6. But if I had to pick, it would be:
"Who was it who taught Gamma, a non-sentient robot, how to think and feel? Who appealed to Shadow's love and dedication when he was blinded by rage and fury and revenge and pain? Who stepped up to keep Cream and Big hopeful when Metal Sonic kidnapped their friends? Who kept my head on straight when I was all bummed-out over 'mister monster guy'?" I squeeze her shoulders tighter with each question. "Amy, who keeps me fighting every single day?"
Ik this line may not be as deep as later on in the fic (won’t say what for spoilers to others 💅please go read it, it’s better that way).
But my heart was in joy having Sonic tell Amy about her efforts and what she accomplished from literally just being unashamedly Amy, even when it’s not acknowledged often or seen as important as what the other characters have achieved.
And the last line??? 🫠
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get to this one! Thank you for your kind words 💕
I’ve seen some feedback that Amy’s arc in ILYCWM feels “out of character” or “regressive,” in that Amy’s been more confident and productive in recent iterations. I get that, to a degree, but I still completely stand by my decision to delve into Amy’s anxieties the way I did.
I started writing ILYCWM in 2021 as an “in defence of Amy Rose” from Sonic’s perspective. I wanted to showcase how Sonic views Amy, what he appreciates about her, with the overall “point” to prove that he’s always loved her. My original outline was built on the different traits of Amy’s I wanted to highlight: chapter 2 focused on Amy’s silly, adventurous side; chapter 3 focused on her compassion and stubbornness, with hints of a strong desire to prove herself alongside a weakness to (rare) praise; and so on.
Of course, as I kept writing, Sonic’s character arc evolved in a parallel to Amy’s, but it was important to me to build up Sonic’s view of Amy in order to shatter that paradigm with how Amy views herself. That’s where the climax you quoted came from! It serves the purpose of not only showing Amy her value but showing the audience her value.
As for the last line, I’m not sure which one you’re referring to, actually! Depending on when you read the fic, you would have read it before or after the prologue was released (which came about 4 months later). Let me know!
“[…] her shield of optimism shattered in front of me, and seeing the dysphoric state she lives in daily shattered mine. We put each other back together, but we traded a few shards in the process, and I’ve been living the effects of our new mosaic ever since.”

“I Love You - Come With Me”
What if when Sonic asks Amy to go with him on an adventure, she says yes? They’ve always been inseparable kindred spirits, but what exactly makes their bond so unique, and where do they make each other stronger?
This is my Sonamy Thesis. This is that story.

There's too many moments from ILYCWM to list (it's legit the best-written fanfic I've ever read and not just out of ship-fics), but if I had to name ONE: "From a union between Earth and Tartarus sprang the Giants and whatever Amy just mumbled, apparently." I'm a sucker for inner monologues getting seamlessly sidetracked, in prose fiction. In this context, it was hilarious and in-character.
Ahahaha, thank you!! And thank you for your high praise 🥰
This is also one of my favourite little moments from “I Love You-Come With Me”. I like the humour I achieved!
For context, in this chapter, Sonic and Amy are taking a short vacation at the Winterberg Chateau (yes, from the chao race arc in IDW). Sonic is reading a book about Greek mythology, for which I took actual excerpts from author Robert Graves’ The Greek Myths. The line, as written with the proper formatting, looks like this:
“From a union between Earth and Tartarus sprang the Giants and whatever Amy just mumbled, apparently.”
Amy, on the other side of the couch, has fallen asleep, and her little quirks keep distracting Sonic, much to his chagrin. Sonic tries to let her be, but finds himself repeatedly drawn to her. This line is probably the 3rd or 4th failed attempt at focusing on his book, and after this, he gives up and studies her appearance, reflecting on their closeness.
My goal with this scene was to demonstrate the pull that Amy has on Sonic—and that it’s getting stronger. By the end of this chapter (which has some tension and action), there’s a fundamental shift within Sonic and Amy’s dynamic as the cup of emotion starts to overflow.
“A breathless chuckle escapes me as three more tears slide down my face and into her quills. Only Amy, man.”

FIIIIIIIIIIINE, I'll read "I Love You, Come With Me" again 😉💙💙💙
This is literally my favorite line in “I Love You Come With Me.”
“He only comes out with you, y’know. I think the only reason I could even admit to all that is because it was to you,” I say, but shake my head. “No. No. I know that was the only reason. With you, I feel like a partner and not like I have to call all the shots. I can fall because you’ll catch me. I can recover because you’ll protect me. I can cry because you’ll never judge. I can be honest with you because you’ll understand. That Sonic is at his strongest with you, Amy, and… and he loves you so much.”
It’s just SO SWEET. I’d like to know your thought process on writting this if you don’t mind.
Awhhhh!! This is fun :)
I’m glad this line resonated with you so much. Thank you, again, for reading ILYCWM and for sharing ♥️
In terms of my thought process, there are a couple gaps here and there because I wrote ILYCWM almost three years ago (isn’t that crazy??), but the major takeaway is that this, in some form, was one of the first lines I ever wrote for the story.
I knew from very early on that I wanted to end up here, with Sonic admitting his feelings out loud to Amy. ILYCWM isn’t a story about Sonic falling in love, but him finding the bravery and courage to express the love he’s known he’s felt for a very long time. Alongside that, the story is about Sonic realizing his emotions are an asset more than a liability and that he deserves, like every other being, to express them.
A big barrier to Sonic having this realization is that he never felt safe (or willing) to explore these ideas. Through his time in close proximity to Amy, those barriers naturally degrade because Sonic’s love for her makes him feel safe—and out comes his more authentic self.

Where do you personally feel Sonic started developing feelings for Amy? I like to think deep down he's had a crush since SA1 but would always brush it aside and be in constant denial to himself about it, before fully realizing "wait I really do love this girl!?" sometime around Unleashed to IDW
P.S. - Ever since reading ILYCWM, I can't stop associating "I Miss You" with these two
since the moment he laid eyes on her in Sonic CD
Lol while this ^ is an interesting take on the ship that I do like to think about sometimes, I’m not sure it’s the easiest to justify! I don’t adamantly disbelieve it though.
That said, I think you’re just about right on the money! Sonic needed to see Amy as an equal (and vice versa, honestly) before any real romantic connection between them could flourish, and that’s what happens in SA1. Amy sets out to be her own hero not only to impress Sonic, but to prove to herself that she can do it (and that she is just as special as he is). Conversely, Sonic needed Amy’s persistence to simmer down into something tangible before he could even engage with it. When Sonic sees more of Amy doing her own thing and even standing up to him, he can actually take her in and like what he sees.
There are some questionable situations between SA1 and Unleashed, for sure (thank you so much, SegaAmerica /s), but more often than not, I think we see a lot of situations where Sonic likes teasing her and having her around. It’s not until Unleashed where they get to interact on more neutral grounds and Sonic brings himself to consider her more seriously.
@multiisketch had an awesome take recently on one of my posts about them (talking about the sonamy idw cover for the 5th anniversary). To paraphrase and simplify, “Sonic rejected his feelings for Amy for so long because the whole idea of her intimidated him so much until she mellowed out.”
(And I’m sorry to leave you with that little brain worm lol! “I Love You - Come With Me” is a Sonamy fanfic I wrote. It’s in my pinned post!)

Nice to find another Sonamy fan, as well as Sonic prime! I wanted to know if you got any Sonamy fanfiction recommendations? If not, that's fine! Thinking of writing my own anyway but not really confident in my writing skills, but I absolutely love reading others' works and seeing all the different writing styles. So if you got any, I would love to read some!
Also, I really liked reading the Sonamy relationship post! I enjoyed watching Sonic X and loved their moments, no matter how small. Including those in Sonic Prime.
Hey! Thanks for reaching out :) it’s nice to meet you!
If you have the passion for it, write! Don’t let your perceived lack of ability get in the way of sharing your stories! And besides—practice makes perfect, anyhow!
Regarding fanfic recommendations… I, uh, *ahem* have a couple (shameful plug lol). They’re pretty okay, but I’m a bit biased hehe
Here’s a breakdown:
Molina’s Sonamy Literary Universe (the accidental continuity I’ve created lol)
I Know (the prequel, of sorts—even though it came first)
I Love You-Come With Me (the big one)
Dazzling (formerly called “Night Adventure”; Fluff overload; Post Sonic Frontiers/Post ILYCWM)
Other, much older stories:
Cavern Secrets
The Power of Words
How Could a Cold be so Good? (FF.net only because I REALLY don’t rate that one anymore lol… It’s my first)
AO3 | FF.net
As for fics by other people, I can’t think of any off the top of my head as it’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to read fanfic, BUT here’s one review I wrote about StarryStarscar’s It (Re)started in the Cafeteria, which is a highschool AU. I also believe my favourites and kudos’d works are public on FF and AO3, respectively. If not, let me know and I’ll follow up!
Lastly, thank you for reading my sonamy post! I’m glad you enjoyed! Maybe I should do a follow-up analysis about Frontiers, but I bet everyone’s done that by now 😂
Thanks again for all :)

Hey! By any chance, do you speak Spanish? I was reading "I love you - Come with me" and immediately recognized the Chiquitita song and came running here to ask you!!
I'm from Colombia, saludos desde aquí!! Esta haciendo un calor horrible estas navidades.
Happy Holidays!! Love your blog (◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*。
Hello! (and Hola! hehe)
Thanks for reading my fic, the compliments, and for the ask! ♥️
I, unfortunately, do not speak Spanish--or any other language besides English. I got the monolingual short end of the stick in life, haha! That said, I discovered ABBA's "Chiquitita" through someone's reposted tiktok around the same time I started writing ILYCWM and thought the words really resonated with the story I was trying to tell and the arc Sonic experiences in the narrative. I had to use Google Translate to define the word because I was curious.
Speaking of translators, if my reliance doesn't fail me now, I'm sorry to hear of the hot weather in Colombia! I hope it's not too uncomfortable! Up here, in my little corner of Canada (greetings! 🍁), we're starting to enter the deep depths of winter!
Happy holidays to you, too, and I'm wishing you a wonderful, happy, and safe new year!
