That moment when you open your laptop because it has a bios battery error code on the start screen, only to find out you need to replace your main battery, and have no bios battery......
So why is there an error code for bios battery then?
My only logical assumption is previous version of the system. Notes for items not to do later in my own hardware implementation.
Ah well, guess I need to buy a new battery regardless and the 2032s can be used elsewhere.

An introduction to VR passenger carriages, part 4: double-decker Intercity carriages
So we come to our newest broad class of passenger coaches. The chunky, beautiful and utterly comfortable double-decker Intercity coaches. Whereas the Eil and single-decker IC coaches covered in previous entries were relatively small series build during a short timeframe, the double-deckers have been in production since 1998 and to date over 300 coaches have been built in different variations, making the coaches a true successor to the blue carriages.

Planning for the double-decker coaches begun already in the beginning of the 1990s, while the single-decker IC coaches were still being built. A Swiss double-decker coach was loaned to Finland and displayed at Helsinki central station to get customer feedback (I actually remember my grandmother taking me to see it). Rather than directly copy the Swiss example, new coaches for our needs were designed based on the experiences gained from these. A notable difference to most central European double-decker coaches is that entrance is from the bottom floor, meaning step-free access on most stations.

The first batch of 42 carriages (30 regular 2nd class coaches in class Ed and 12 Eds coaches with a children's playspace and facilities for disabled passengers) were ordered in 1995 and delivered in 1998-2000 by what was then Talgo-Transtech near Kajaani in Finland. All double-decker carriages have been ordered from the same builder, which was eventually sold by Talgo, operated for some years as simply Transtech before being sold to Škoda and becoming Škoda Transtech.

The first double-decker sleepers (Edm) were delivered in 2005, with the first restaurant cars (ERd) and control cab cars (Edo) following in 2014. Meanwhile, a number of Ed carriages have been rebuilt into Edb and later CEd coaches, with business class seats in additional to regular second-class seating. In 2006, the classes were rebranded, with 2nd class become Eko class and business becoming Ekstra class. Of course, all double-decker coaches were repainted in the current white and green livery starting 2010.

The initial batch of coaches were delivered with a 160 km/h service speed, but this was upgraded to 200 km/h in later series, with the first batch rebuilt to match. In 2000, we introduced new Intercity2-branded connections from Helsinki to Turku, Tampere and Jyväskylä, which were operated exclusively with double-decker coaches. The IC2 branding was discontinued in 2014, as by this point single-decker coached had been largely phased out from daytime IC trains.

The (to-date) last double-decker carriages were delivered in 2021. As we are currently concentrating on new locomotives (Sr3- and Dr19-classes) and the new electric multiple units for commuter services (Sm7), it's likely there will be a gap of some years before we contract new passenger coaches.

This is a bit of a catch-all, ideas-dump type document of various concepts for crossovers between BtVS and the Rivers of London books, which feature a branch of the Metropolitan police dealing with magic. Predictably, the one I've fleshed out most is a Calendiles version, in which Peter, the main RoL character, seeks out Jenny to learn more about the Buffy-verse kind of magic.
Here's a snippet which hopefully makes sense even without the book context!
I pulled into the courtyard and parked up next to a mud-spattered Citroën people carrier. I was just getting my holdall out of the Asbo’s boot when a woman’s voice – American – greeted me. “Hey, Peter! I’m Jenny.” When I turned around, the woman leaning against the back doorway was much more what I’d been expecting. She was slight, with short dark hair and an olive complexion – I’d have pegged her as IC2 at a guess. Probably early to mid-forties, wearing copious eyeliner, lots of silver jewellery and a hippy-dippy gypsy skirt. The Bristol Rovers shirt was an unusual addition, though. She noticed me eyeballing her and glanced down and laughed. “Quite the eyeful, this ensemble, huh? It’s laundry day, okay?” “That’s your story and you’re sticking to it, yeah?” I said. “Uh huh,” she said cheerfully. “Find the place okay?” “Not really,” I said, closing the boot. “Always a bit of a struggle outside large expanses of concrete.” “I know the feeling. Plus, it’s always worse in the West of England,” she agreed. “Must be the ley lines.” “Right?” I said, delighted to be vindicated by an adoptive local. She didn’t exactly invite me in, but she did stand to one side in the doorway and say, “I think Rupert’s putting the kettle on,” which was good enough for me.

Teensy 4.0 With NMEA 2000 Connector And 240 x 240 IPS LCD for Marine Applications
This board carries an Arduino-compatible Teensy 4.0 microprocessor system, a 240x240 pixels IPS LCD, and a Micro C NMEA 2000 connector. The board receives power through the 12 VDC NEMA 2000 connector that feeds an onboard 5 VDC regulator. There is also a 4-way 1mm (Qwiic) IC2 connector for external sensors. The example sketch reads data from an NMEA 2000 wind sensor and a temperature sensor and displays the reading on the LCD.

I got started on Knuckles’ route in Sonic 3! I’m a little disappointed the story isn’t just the main story, but from Knuckles’ point of view, but I understand why. It wouldn’t make sense for him to fight his ally’s robots, and it wouldn’t make sense for him to fight the local wildlife, either. Is there a timeline on when this takes place, relative to Sonic’s campaign?
But gameplay-wise, so far, he’s got the most fun moveset of the characters! Gliding and climbing make exploration fun, and being able to walk into destructible terrain like a Terminator is amusing and helpful!
Levels-wise, I had to look up how to beat Hydrocity 2’s boss, but Carnival Night 2 and Ice Cap 1 were far more tolerable! The beginning of Ice Cap 2, however, was not very forgiving. One slip-up, and it was into the icy depths for me.
Out of curiosity, in the original release, if someone only had the Sonic 3 cartridge, was Knuckles still playable, or was that a feature only added by connecting with Sonic & Knuckles?
Knuckles' story is implied to take place right after Sonic's. For example, you can't see the sea in Angel Island anymore, because the island is now in the sky. In stages where you'd see the Death Egg with Sonic, it has disappeared. The idea is that a random Egg Robo has broken loose and is still terrorizing the island, and Knuckles has to stop it.
That's very far already! Yep, you have seen how easy CN is for Knuckles lol, a very rare act of mercy from the devs. (You can take Sonic's route if you want to, right at the beginning! In the original it would softlock the game, though) IC2 is the perfect representation of Knuckles' campaign: Sonic and Tails are free to run in the open, Knuckles is stuck in the dangerous caverns. Oh well, he's strong enough to survive :P
Knuckles has a very fun moveset, yes, and 3&K is the game that by far takes the most advantage of it. Mania tries, and it has some very good levels for Knuckles (including an act designed for him only!), but 3&K really was dedicated to make his campaign a different experience. What's better is that, unlike future games, you don't have to play as him! He's just an extra if you want to experience the game in another way :)
No, in Sonic 3 vanilla you can only play as Sonic, Tails and the two combined, and in Sonic & Knuckles you can only play as... well, Sonic and Knuckles :P the whole attractive of owning both cartridges was exactly the chance of playing as Knuckles in S3's levels and as Tails in S&K's levels. If you mess around with the debug mode in S3 (again extremely hard) you can see that the paths for Knuckles were already implemented, but he's missing. Well, this is his state in the November 1993 prototype, again a few months before release, so yeah.
