my question is this – is there anything you'd like to infodump about in thab au (characters, lamb's past, wordbuilding details, that fact that narinder's third eye seems to be much more emotional and honest than narinder himself)? I can give you THaB's cast! Not everyone is here, because some characters are not very important and/or not very developed. As a bonus tho, you'll get everyone's name in the Lamb's conlang I made =D

COtL characters:

Lamb and Nari! The two most important characters of the comic! Since the bullshit revolve around their relationship. No anecdote for them, because everything can be spoiler-

It comes as a surprise to no one I think, but the bishops will be there =D Fun fact, in this image, I put them from younger to older, based on one of the co-writter (@wowowhy) head-canon that the more eyes the bishops have, the older the are! Making Narinder the middle child-

Mystic Seller, Claunek and Ratau wont be seen very often! They'll have more of a technical roles in the story. Giving key information, giving state of things. But I try to keep wiggle room in the writing, so things might change!

THaB characters:

Lamb's disciples! Put from older to youngest. Salky is Lamb's right hand. She was the Hathor demon in Nari's fight! Loki loves to look for frogs from time to time. Deimos sometime sneak some alcohol from his bar-tending job. Pixie likes to drink a cup of tea when she get the time. Nimwé goes to the cemetery pretty often to change the flowers of the graves.

Have some of the followers we'll see! Litsy loves everyone (to everyone's dismay). We saw him as an Orcus demon during Narinder's fight! Purna likes how lively her kitchen get when it's time to prepare dinner. We saw her as a Vesta demon earlier! Nysus is the self appointed resource manager of the flock. But some people would just call them a thief. Meralon, the flock undertaker, he is also Gérard drinking buddy. Gérard is the unluckiest person you could ever found in the Land of the Old Faith, which makes him a very good janitor.

Even before I got into COTL and started obsessively drawing jaguars (I've settled with that now that I know the difference between them and leopards) this was my FAVORITE image in my "spooky animals" board.

It's fucking EYES are so unbelievably horrifying, it's claws fully extended wrapping around the fish, and the TEETH?? I'm planning a comic with horror Nari soon, and this is all the terrifying inspiration I need to make the fear come through

I was really intimidated by the thought of coming back after all the new updates and announcements and everything, but this feels right. Hello, saw your post on sheeps and was wondering a few things. Do you do commissions? Do you have any huge tips or anything for drawing sheep? I've been trying to do it but can never get it right. I saw you were taking requests for Cotl characters but one of my friends has a sheep oc that isn't cotl and i was wondering if you'd do that or just cotl.

sorry for the late reply and get ready, there will be a lot of chatter here… REALLY A LOT

1) Not yet, I don't have an adequate price list for this

2) Okay, here's what I learned: sheep always have horns that curl behind their ears (the exception is "Jacob sheep," which have four horns, one that curls behind their ears and one that goes up);

sheep have a noticeably divided upper lip, and long, drooping tails;

Sheep come in a variety of colors, depending on their breed. The most prominent colors I've seen are black, white, and several shades of brown. Their eyes are usually amber or brown (dark brown eyes can be mistaken for black), but they can sometimes be gray-green or gray-blue.

I draw the legs for the sheep in two ways, but both are made up of 4 separate parts

in the first the fourth part is the hoof; the first three parts are evenly divided in half for convenience:

I use this method to draw more stylized (or cartoonish) characters that are more removed from reality in terms of anatomy and are builded on the author's style.

For example, here is a quick sketch with a stylized lamb design that relies on the author's style and convenience. Anthea belongs to @the-artist-grimm (Sorry for the ping, it is important for me to indicate the author)

the second type is more anatomical in relation to reality, but still relies on human anatomy and style:

Each part is a kind of hinge and is responsible for movement. The previous one has one too, but since the second one looks a bit more complicated, I'll try to explain it

this sketch I have marked with circles the places that are responsible for movement

here it's more clear, to be honest it's like an app with a mannequin, where you can make virtual pose (although I haven't done that for a long time)

I mainly use human anatomy with a bit of sheep anatomy because I don't feel comfortable with completely animal anatomy (in percentage terms, human are 60%, animal are 40%. This doesn't only apply to sheep, I've extended this to several other four-legged animals)

I'm still figuring out about the sheep's muzzle myself. I mostly use a circle or rectangle to represent the head. For more cartoonish or feminine characters, a circle is perfect, and if the opposite is true, a rectangle

but again, it depends on comfort and style

for the nose bridge I use a diamond shape, its adds some debt

My style of drawing sheep wool is "airy", you could say I draw in semicircles. I also sometimes add some curls lines to give it more effect

Ahh thank you!!! That's really flattering fkljgfjf....It's always a pleasant surprise that people like Neves :'-) (and I love when I get an excuse to post my doodles of her and the Lamb lol)

I am in the works of trying to write a cotl fanfic abt this specific au (I call it The Apostate & The Martyr in my head lol), but writing doesn't come as easily as drawing to me SIGH. I've actually written quite a bit, but the problem is putting all these random excerpts together to make something coherent LOL. But yes, the fic is intended to be the story of The Lamb and Neves' friendship amidst the brutality and terror of the Lands of the Old Faith, how to deal with the consequences of their choices, and the mutual alienation they experience in their positions....as silly as that sounds lol. It's very self-indulgent! I just liked the concept of the "Outsider" POV, so to speak, being subjected to the sort of normalized violence that exists in cotl. Though, I might end up just making comics if I can't pan out this fanfic well enough!

Hi! So I've been following you for a while for your amazing SL fic. I'm not into fnaf, and don't know much of the lore outside what I've seen in let's plays. But your phenomenal writing and art really breaths life into the characters and pulled me into the fandom.

And you did the same with cotl. After seeing all the art, and reading your fic, I finally decided to play the game. I LOVE IT. played through the main game in one weekend, and just finished the relics of the old faith plot.

I'm loving your fic, and how youre giving depth to Nari's situation where the game doesn't.

Here's my ranking of the cleansed(?) Designs for the bishops!

10/10! Love it! My game gave me the quests backwards for some reason so I knew what was happening and kinda hoped to see what leshy looks like with an eye, but this works better honestly

7.5/10 Not much is changed here, mainly just different colored bandages

6/10 Looks a little goofy, but it works alright. Again, my game's weird, so this was the first one I saw. Little webhead lol

4/10 It might just be me, but her neck looks weird here. No other followers really have necks, so her having such a fat neck kinda throws me off. Might be me just being used to the bandage, I might warm up to it.

The culprit. He didn't change or anything, he's just guilty.

I really didn't expect this, but i love it. Not only does it tie up the bishops' story with a nice little bow, it also gave us the Narinder "proposal" scene. Love the update all around, I've seen people say it's a little underwhelming after sins of the flesh, which I can see, but they had to add a whole multi-player mechanic alongside more tarots, relics, traits, spies, cursed followers, etc. I think the past updates might've set a false standard in some people's minds. It's all for free, I think we're lucky we get this much at all.

Oh, thanks for the question!

First of all, this concept is my loose representation of the sequel after the final quest with the bishops. I wasn't too fond of how their story was skimpily ended halfway through. Actually that's why I introduced this sequel after their redemption for the past. In my AU, the bishops had lived long enough as mortals to realize the gravity of their decisions, the mistakes after them. And had no hope of regaining their divinity at all. So when the opportunity arose, not all of them agreed to change their habitual lives.

In another way, developing the idea of Lamb as the last deity, it meant a great burden for the young lamb. The lands of the old bishops are falling apart, their followers infiltrating as spies to either reclaim their masters or plot to undermine the trust of the Scarlet Crown. Lamb, in doing so, besides fulfilling his leadership duties, needed to do all the same work Narinder did before him, circulate life and death through Limbo.

So the random finding of crowns in the temples of each of the bishops, forced a change in the essence of the usual things. To let the bishops show their good side. I might say this was the beginning of the creation of a new religion? Like the Old Faith of Shamura, but now led by Lamb.

And so, in sum, all of this explains why I came up with this idea, why both Lamb and the bishops look similar, so and yet cooperate with each other.

there is something to be said for candle run burnout for sure, like it now takes so many candles to get things that you want, as well as the pricing for paid items of course. The entire thing just makes me wonder if sky: cotl should follow in the footsteps of animal crossing: pocket camp and just make a paid game with no in-app purchases. I think the team are trying to tackle the CR burnout tho with different mechanics such as revamping daily quests (personally i don't like the revamp as it is now, but it's clearly in its early stages!). There's just...a lot going on and it would be better in my opinion if there was no IAP at all, especially because I've seen players be weird in the past about it, like trying to justify paid items by talking about veteran status (idk how veteran status correlates with being able to pay for IAP). Overall I think there needs to be a revamp of sky as a whole.

Again, this got long. I have thoughts.

Yeah, IAP is a really tricky topic. On one hand, it's kinda how free games make money, so I personally get not cutting it out completely. On the other, it really seems like ALL the good cosmetics are IAP.

I mean, in Days of Sunlight, there are 7 IGC items (50 Tickets, 384C, and 30 H). and 11 IAP items ($200+ USD). What's worse is most people can't even afford all the IGC items so you end up getting 3-5 items out of the total 18. For a game that's a lot about cosmetic collection, that sucks for the average player!

I'm not personally bothered but the 20+ ticket values. If you're more or less collecting, you can get them fairly easily. You can miss almost half the days and still get the two items. (84 tickets over 14 days. 50 tickets for the two cosmetics. you can miss 5, almost 6 days and still have enough) I have more to say on Ticket Cosmetics, but I'll save that for later.

I wouldn't be as bothered by this insane IAP to IGC item split if they were affordable and if IGC items as a whole stood up to the design and demand of the IAP. Apparently, the earrings were GOING to be IGC but were last minute switched with the floaty. There are SO few earrings, so making them IAP really sucks. It feels like the umbrella problem now. (of the 7 umbrellas, only 2 are IGC as TS)

I would love to see the IAP disappear altogether too, but that's just not realistic. From a financial standpoint for the company, as well as just in general. People hate them, but people still buy them. If anything I could maybe see a price reduction in IAP but with that comes the fact that now those who paid the higher price were "scammed" and that could create legal problems.

I have no idea what TGC could do, but for starters, I'd ask to lower IGC item prices and make fewer IAP items. Whether that will happen or not, I'm not optimistic, unfortunately.
