It's happening again.. Your father got a new line of work so yet again you're moving cities.

Your family is never in one place for too long, you've lived in more countries than you can count. At least this time you're moving to a place you have family in.. seoul. The capital of South korea.. You get to see grandma and grandpa again.. You were just about to start uni here in the states though.. Term in Korea hasn't started yet so your father has enrolled you to start in KQ University.. One of the most prestigious and high end universities in korea..

 You've not been here in the states long so at least you have no friends you need to say goodbye to..

Tired, you exit the car when the driver opens the door for you and your mother.. You see the home of your childhood.. Familiarity flooding back to you. It's just outside seoul..the area being popular with mansions and estates yet kept to themselves, Being a mansion the grounds consist of the courtyard.. Garage.. The huge garden in the back and the home being 4 floors tall

“Grandma.. Grandpa!” you call out seeing the elderly couple at the door to welcome you back to the house

“Ah my baby how big you are now.. Come come.. Let's get you settled hmm?”

And you're quickly whisked down familiar halls.. And upstairs on the 3rd floor.

“Here baby you can have this room decorate it however you'd like.. This is your room when you're here and whenever you come to visit.”

You wheel your suitcase in..

“Thank you grandma.. I've missed this.. You and grandpa..”

“We’ve missed you too baby.. “ she tenderly cups your cheek thumb rubbing the chubby skin.. She smiles then makes her way back down the hall.

You look at the room.. It's plain and bare now..no personality yet..  A huge king sized bed rests on one side.. A Huge glass bay window, en-suite, walk in closet, desk, vanity. Just classic bedroom essentials really..

Workers begin bringing your items in boxes from back in the states

Soon the room is filled with boxes letting out a breath you extend your arms cracking your fingers.. 

“Okay~ let's do this..”

6:15pm.. 6 hours later you step back and look at the now decorated room.. 

The duvet on the bed is now your printed one along with the pillows and a few of your plushies rest on the bed.. The vanity is now stocked with all your makeup and skincare supplies and accessories, Closet arranged with your clothes, shoes and bags, en-suite your bathroom essensals and haircare products as well as more skincare and just feminine hygiene stuff.. The desk with books and scrapbooking things.. Your guitar rests beside the desk on its stand.. Some posters adorn the wall.. Different bands and places posters..  Your camera and a few jackets hang on some hooks you've attached to the wall. And you've decorated the bay window as a window seat with cushions and a cosy blanket. 

The room is now your own space. Cracking your neck you exit the room and head downstairs.. You can hear your parents and grandparents talking in the lounge room.

“That boy was a lovely boy..”

“Yes.. the Jeongs are very respectful, we've been friends with them for a while.. y/n will attend KQ right? He’ll definitely take care of her..”

“Oh yes, I hope so.. It was lovely to meet him and his grandparents..”

You can kind of hear muffled through the door.. You slide it open.

“What's this about?” you ask..

“Oh honey come.. Sit  dinner is being prepared.. And nothing you need to worry about just the Jeongs came over to briefly visit your grandparents and greet us.. You'll be attending the same university as their grandson..”

“Oh.. does he live in one of the estates nearby?” you sit.

“Oh no.. Yunho lives in an estate with his friends, they're all such lovely boys. They all go to the university.. Always so proper.. Not drinking or taking drugs.. On the right side of the law.. Not like some of the boys that go to KQ..goodness the things some of those boys get up to.. The Girls too.. Their parents would be ashamed..”

Soon the first day of uni rolls around, you get up in the morning and do your skincare and makeup routine, do your hair and then get your outfit sorted.. It's autumn so you go with jeans, converse and a sweater/jumper of some sort, still stylish and you get your bag.

You eat a quick and light breakfast and a driver drives you to the university dropping you off on the campus.. All the uni societies are out at their little tables trying to get new members.. You pass them for now and enter the main building heading to the front desk to get your class schedule..in the hall your gaze catches a group of boys looking at you..watching. They then talk and laugh amongst themselves.. You frown and focus on the receptionist who passes you your schedule and the directions to the first lecture hall on your sheet but then she stops.. 

“Ah hold on dear.. MR. JEONG! Could you come over here please..?” the receptionist calls.. 

The group quietly laughs at him and shoves him forwards.. He looks to the floor and kinda scratches the back of his neck.

“Yes, miss?” he says..

“Can you show Miss Lee around campus and to her first lecture hall? You can do that right?”

He sighs..

“Sure thing Miss.” he gestures for me to follow him.

“Can I see your schedule?” you pass him the piece of paper.. 

He's a handsome man that's for sure.. And damn he's tall..wow.. Bet he's popular with the girls.. He screams boyfriend material-

“Hmm.. homeroom first.. you're in luck im in the same one. You’re Mr and Mrs lee's granddaughter right?”

“Hmm? Oh yeah.. Ahaha that's me.” you snap out of it

He holds out his hand.

“Jeong Yunho. My grandparents and family are friends of yours.”

Oooh so he's the Jeong's grandson..

You take his hand.. 

“It’s Nice to meet you..” 

“Likewise.. You have a free class after homeroom so I'll give you a tour after, let's get you to the hall first huh?”  

He leads you through the campus to the building where the homeroom lecture hall was.  And the both of you enter the hall.. Its still pretty much empty apart from a few students and.. Some of the boys from earlier.. 

“Hey yun!! Whos your pretty friend~”

Yunho sighs.

“That's just wooyoung. He's my cousin, just ignore him. He’ll smooth talk anything on two legs regardless..”

“Hey!!”

I decided to take pictures of my collection since so many people asked! This is everything I've collected over the past two years. I'll give links for items that are still easily available. Also, please excuse how terrible these photos look. It took me over 3 hours to get everything out and take these photos, I was pretty tired and I was trying to figure out how to do it. I decided it'd be easiest to separate everything by type. And for some categories, I separate Gyutaro and Daki. 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬

These are all of the large figures that I have! There was a new one that was recently released in Japan, and once I get it shipped I'll make a review about it. I got all of these figures from BigBadToyStore. Most of them are still available and a few are even on sale right now. I'd highly recommend their website! Out of all of these figures, I'd have to say the large one in the middle with Gyutaro using his blood demon art is my favorite.

𝐆𝐊 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬

These are the garage kit figures that I own! None of these figures are official. The one on the right can be found super cheap on Amazon. I got this one from a good friend of mine. I'd say for how large it is it's definitely worth the price. The two on the left I got myself for my birthday. The one with the lantern even lights up, and it's definitely my favorite. You can still buy these, but only on eBay. The prices skyrocketed after I purchased mine, so I honestly can't recommend anyone buying them. They are just way too expensive now in my opinion. And here are the rest of the Gyutaro figures! I believe this is all of the ones that are currently released (except for the new one I mentioned earlier). A few of these are also available on BigBadToyStore. The one on the top left is one of my favorite items that I own. I've never seen him sold outside of Japan which sucks because he's absolutely adorable. The top middle one is really cool too because he comes with changeable arms and you can pose him in different ways - this one is also on sale on BigBadToyStore's website.

Here are the Daki/Ume figures! Most of these came in pairs with the Gyutaro figures so that's why I have a lot of these too. Again, most of these can be found on BigBadToyStore's website.

𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐬

Gyutaro plushies!! I don't know about you, but I am so obsessed with Gyutaro plushies. They make me so unexplainably happy. To be honest, all of them are my favorite haha. But if I had to choose, I'd say the teddy bear in the back. I also really love the Kitty Gyutaro on the left. The kitty Gyu, and the other Gyu doll on the right are not official. The one on the right was a gift from a close friend, it was custom made on Etsy. The Kitty Gyu was actually available on eBay (they are sold out now, but might restock later). I got mine elsewhere though. The human Gyu plush is also available on BigBadToyStore's website along with the Ume one. The little grabby Gyu's in the front right are some of my favorites too. I'll just clip them onto my laptop while I'm writing or drawing. I bought them from Amiami, they are out of stock now but I have seen them occasionally go on sale again.

And here are the Daki/Ume plushies! I got a few of them from AmiAmi with the Gyu ones, so they might come back up for sale eventually.

𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬

Sorry for the terrible photo, I tried my best to fit all of these into one picture. I didn't include the demon gathering diorama because that thing is way too big. It's so hard to pick a favorite for these ones. I love the holiday ones and the world tour one the most. Surprisingly these aren't often available outside of Japan. I have seen a few come up on eBay but they are usually overpriced. There are a few ones that I wanted to talk about because they are unique. Like the acrylic stand of the actor who played Gyutaro in the live-action play. I thought it was really cool that they made a stand for that. Also, the one where Gyutaro is seen fighting Tengen, it's hard to see in the photo but it has a lot of components to it that make it look 3D!

𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬

I love love love the Gytutaro keychains! There's a lot here so I won't ramble too much about them. My favorites are the kitty one on the top row, and the 2nd and 3rd one on the bottom row. Like look how cute he looks on his stomach like that, I swear that's the cutest pose I've seen them make for him. The kitty Gyu keychain was actually the first Gyutaro item I've ever bought! You might be able to find some of these on Mercari or on eBay.

𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐬

I used to have an ita bag that I would fill with these pins! But it got really dirty, so if you have any you can recommend let me know 👀 Anyway here are the enamel pins. The only one that is still available is the large FiGPiN one. It's limited edition and they only made 1,000 of them. It was for an event in New York I think? Anyway, here is a link to where you can purchase one on eBay.

And here are the other pins. I don't have as many of these because they stopped fitting in my ita bag, but I'd totally get more if I had a large bag to fit them in.

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬

Ok so I had a ton of miscellaneous items, so this will be the biggest section. Some of my favorite items are here like the ring, necklace, and perfume. Apparently, the perfume is illegal to ship outside of Japan because it's flammable so I have no idea how I got it. But I got it as a gift in 2023. The ring is definitely one of my favorite items though, I've had it for a really long time now and I love the pattern on it. It's hard to see in the photo but one ring has a motif matching his spots and the other one matching his ribbons. If you want to see my full post on the ring and perfume I'll link them here. More miscellaneous items. The only one I'll comment on is that pink little box in the middle. It's a gachapon and it's actually functional too. It's the cutest little thing. I also really like the pens too, the little chibi drawings on the front are adorable.

These are just a bunch of random cloth items I have. My favorites are the Gyutaro tote bag and the Gyutaro underwear. Yes, I said underwear... yes it is official... I'll make a separate post about it another day 😭 On the right is some Tengen toilet paper, no that isn't official. It has a funny story behind it I promise. So one day my little brother asks me, "Which character from Demon Slayer do you want to eat shit?" I said Tengen of course, and months later he gave me this for my birthday. I freaking love my brother 😭

I had to make a separate photo for this one since it was so big. This is a towel with all of the upper moons on it. I really love the art for this and I think it's just so beautiful.

Shikishi boards! I love collecting these because they have official art of Gyutaro that we don't get to see anywhere else!

I'm sorry I wasn't able to provide more links for these items as most of them sold out long ago. They are focusing on making merch for the Hantengu clones now, so Gyutaro item releases have slowed down a lot.

Okay I know i'm a bit late but I really want to talk about THIS

Now a lot of people have been saying it's 3, which for a lot of the fanbase would be the best case scenario. Now while I do know Luke LOVES to troll us on SMG34 and basically dangle it right in all of our faces, I'm going to look at this on a hopeful SMG34 perspective.

So we all know it's Pride Month, meaning this would be the BEST time to let 3 and 4 have their little gay moments.

I've seen a lot of people mention the Mickey Mouse monstrosity, but I also think the bomb should be noted.

The significance of the gift becomes exemplified when you realize 3 wanted Boopkins to rizz someone up with it. This means 3 sees it as a romantic item, something to potentially give to a loved one. The bomb 4 has in his suitcase also matches the ones on top of 3's cafe, meaning 4 probably got the bombs from YOU KNOW WHO.

So what does this all mean?

What I like to think is that SMG34 is already canon, except it isn't directly stated to the viewer's. I think 3 and 4 are going to show signs of romance, and if you put the pieces together you can code it's for each other. I think 3 confessed to 4 since it's Pride Month and gave him the Mickey Mouse statue plus some bombs because that's what 3 loves, and 4 accepted his confession. But I don't think we'll ever see this really happen, we won't see them kiss or anything but there will be moments throughout the month that can be seen as romantic coming from those two.

If my theory is right then for future episodes we'll be given hints regarding their relationship yet it won't ever be specifically stated. That is of course unless Luke decides to grow some balls and make it officially canon/j (Srry Luke ily)

Honestly I think the main reason why it hasn't become canon already is because of backlash from the community, especially now that OG SMG4 "fans" keep shitting on his content instead of minding their own business.

By making SMG3 and SMG4 have romantic moments/tension yet never be confirmed gay for each other, Luke is essentially making both sides "happy", wanting to please everyone because that's just how he is.

Sorry I got sidetracked! Honestly I understand if you didn't want to read all that, but if you did, kudos to you! I just kinda wanted to talk about this because it's been on my mind for awhile.

YEAH it's super unbelievably fucked up. i think i kinda remember the circumstance being a bit dire so everyone else was more worried about either 1. protagonist getting stomped on brutally or 2. saving the world from kyurem / the bittercold. i was totally under the impression that he was dead in that moment but i guess the characters may have known that he would just come back? i seem to vaguely remember partner being surprised that he came back and being like "but we watched you die :OOO" but maybe i'm misremembering that. i do create a lot of pmd lore on my own time so i have a hard time telling the difference between canon and fanon sometimes

Hello, I have heard that you wanted your followers to show their MLP/other collections, so here is mine! It's not much, but that was all I could find right now.

Here is my collection of MLP figures/plushies. Some of the figures have been messed up a bit...You can see some red marker on Fluttershy's hooves (it ain't blood, ya nutso!) and even one of the wings is missing on Starsong. I never found it but that's ok because imperfect is ok :) Funko Pops are also in here...Pre-Alicorn Twilight, Trixie, Seapony Twi, and Bluebelle (an exclusive!).

There's also other stuff I put in there like four little unicorns I got at the dentist, a unicorn stress ball (her name is Believe), a LEGO Creator 3-in-1 unicorn set (you can also build it into a peacock or unicorn seahorse), and the unicorn from the Inside Out movie.

Next up, comics and misc! There's the Elements of Harmony official guidebook (covering MLP FiM stuff from seasons 1-3 from the show), lots of comics bunched up, and even a signed comic from Brenda Hickey (to the left of the first-ever MLP comic, if you look closely)! The story behind that is that in 2015 my city held its very own comic-con called "Starfish Con" and Brenda just happened to be there. I also came home with the first FIENDship is Magic comic and a big poster featuring the Mane 6 and the Starfish Con mascot drawn by Brenda. Unfortunately, the con was short lived and ended around 2016-ish :(

And here's something else...a G3.5 sticker sheet from a coloring book with all the stickers still intact! (fun fact I started MLP from this generation)

And finally, some pins and buttons! I am a sucker for these things...anyway, some of these I found lying around at middle/high school (the LGBTQ equal-sign button, a button of some anime girl I really don't know about but looked cool, and the "love who you love" pin) while others come from places I went to in the past or given to me as gifts. The MLP buttons I have are Rainbow Dash, Derpy's Cutie Mark, and (new to the collection) a hilarious face of baby Flurry Heart and Misty Brightdawn from the G5 comics. I got them at my first-ever HarmonyCon back in February.

A very lengthy letter before the series' departure.

Hey, everyone, Hartley here.

By June of 2023, it would be my 4th year in the Hilda community, and i'm still in disbelief that i've been active in the community for this long, as well as the animated series is coming to an end tomorrow.

I have been wanting to post this since then, but i've been extremely busy in my life, as well as my personal computer was broken for almost an entire year - hence why my activity in the community also got died down a little bit.

I have a lot of things to say to everyone, from people in the community to the people who worked on the show, as well as the past, present and future, so for the convenience of your reading, i'll divide what i want to say into chapters.

I. About me & how i got into the show ( Trigger warning: Deaths ) I've rarely talked about this to anyone, but... I live by myself, and there's a good chance i might not be around for much longer. It's sort of the reason why i got into Hilda from the first place.

I first found out about Hilda in October 2018 when i was browsing on Tumblr, but never really watched it until May 2019, when a friend of mine gave me a month free subscription of Netflix. I started to go down the list of things i wanted to watch on the platform, and when it came to Hilda, i never thought i would get fixated on the show. Well, guess where we're at now?

I was stunned by the show's colorful vibes, amazing plot writing and how the show built the characters and mythologies, especially how they portrayed the mentality of the children in the show when the kids interact with each other or with adults.

The one thing that i also extremely adore in the show is the relationship between Hilda and Johanna... because it deeply reminds me of my parents when they were still alive. I had a similar life and relationship with them. Every time i see Hilda and her mum together, it always makes me remember about my former childhood life, how kind my parents were to me, and how i wanted to be the adventurous kid that never disappoints them.

I had a pretty good life until my parents got cancer when i was 11 years old - the same age with Hilda in first & possibly second season. Things got worse since then, and they passed away a few years after that.

Now i'm pretty much alone, with a good chance that i might follow them, so if i ever just disappear without telling anything, well... at least i had a good run, i never thought i'd make it this far anyway.

The show had made a significant change on my life, as well as some of my future decisions and helped me through hard times.

It would be an understatement to say this series meant a lot for me.

Because of this, and the feeling of the show doesn't get enough attention that it deserves, i've been dedicating myself for the last few years to help the show and its community thrive.

II. About the animated series Sometimes, i feel really sad that they couldn't have done more for it. - As someone who lives in Vietnam, it's really sad to see the show lacks Vietnamese subtitles and audio language - despite there being a huge number of Netflix users in the country. Due to this, the series basically got hidden from anyone who's watching with their Netflix's interface language set to Vietnamese, which makes the show really hard to be recommended to anyone here. At the same time, many other animated series on the platform have either or both of those. - A lot of merchandise of the franchise has either never saw the day or short-lived. Hilda's GUND plushies only lived for 1.5 years, and by my count, there were 3 Hilda board games that got reported to the news, but never got released. - Hilda video games. The only official Hilda game we ever got was Hilda Creatures, and sadly, the company that made the game went defunct in April 2022, dragging Hilda Creatures along with it. - Netflix. Batch releasing the show and giving it the bare minimum marketing. The same thing happened with Jojo and we all know what happened to its hype. - The mishandling of social media pages, which led to Hilda's Facebook page got hacked for an entire month during May 2023, as well as a lack of interaction posts after season 1 to keep the community up.

I really wish the show got better treatment in a lot of stuff, but at the same time, i'm grateful for the crew's work to get the series this far. One of the directors at one point confirmed that the show got pitched to various networks like Cartoon Network, Disney, Children BBC, Nick... and no one accepted the show until Netflix came along. If Netflix never took the show in, or if it was another network that got it ( which i suspect it'd change the direction of the show by a lot ), where would we be now...?

Though the show will definitely not be reminded by Netflix every now and then as other networks do, but at least it is going out with a bang. Really wish the show would become a sleeper hit at some point in the future.

III. About the community Genuinely, it's one of the most amazing communities i've ever been in. People who are younger, same age, or even parents who are much older than me... I had amazing experiences with all of them. I've made many friends from here, which sometimes makes me wish our community would stay the same like this forever after the series ends.

Honestly, i don't know what else i could say about everyone, other than thanking you guys for making my days within the community, as well as your efforts in making it an amazing place for me and everyone else to stay in.

IV. About the future Well, i've been thinking about it quite a lot.

After the animated series ends, i'll try my best to continue sticking around in the community and do a lot more stuff for it. The franchise will still seem to continue for at least some more time, with the upcoming release of the new prequel Hilda comic series, "Hilda and Twig".

I'd be selfish for saying this, but if the current state of animations improves in the future... I'd want to see Hilda's world return as animation at some point - either following the same blue-haired girl that we all know and love, or just a spin-off from an entirely different character. It's hard to imagine how the worldbuilding we've seen in the last 12 years, where "there's so much we've never seen, so much we don't know" and "there's mystery everywhere you look" would potentially disappear after this... I really hope i would see it again, as well as be around long enough to see it.

As of now, this chapter is about to come to an end. So before it does, i want to say thanks to everyone who has been involved in this show.

i wound up getting attached to utsushi-kyokan (master/instructor utsushi), ウツハン/utsuhan (utsushi x hunter) ship, and finding his Japanese fan community late 2021, and i've been chatting with mutuals and friends i made there since. at that time, capcom had opened up pre-orders for his nui (plushie). this plush is lovingly referred to as "Unui-kun", and people love to take him around and bring him places. here's my Unui-kun in new york city lol

fans love to dress him up and make clothing and accessories for him. had i known just how attached i would become, i would not have set my Unui-kun to ship via surface mail delivery because it took about 2-3 months extra for him to arrive... ;;

but anyway, it seemed that his popularity was growing because they continued to make more merch of him. he seems to have more than any of the other characters.

many of these are limited print/pre-order only, or were from specific events like the capcom cafe features. trying to get his merchandise became crazy, because scalpers started to pick up on how badly people wanted goodies of him?!

just how popular is this guy?! what's with the character tax!!

and how did this even happen... we're playing monster hunter, not an idol game! but i think it really speaks a lot for itself how rise had such colorful characters that you could get attached to. it seems he really jives with many female and queer players, so good on capcom for that hehe. many of the japanese fans i've met are either older women, very often mothers, or gnc, which i found to be really cool. the english-speaking utsushi fans are usually the same, too. the solidarity is real...

I found out that a lot of ppl, including myself, shared a similar experience: they missed out on a majority of utsushi's flavor text in base rise bc they didn't talk to him or the other NPCs very much during village and high rank quests, and therefore didn't even think much of him until after the fact. people double-taking when going through the game again and actually catching on to his antics... I think what really got things going was when they released his DLC voice and learned about his, uh, extremely affectionate lines towards the hunter when it comes to mew mew and blowing a kiss LOL. (the "welcome back, master!" line?!?! there's so much art of him in a maid outfit... and the way he says ace/manadeshi in his sleep at the table?!?! scandalous?!?!) even for me, he got my attention only once i saw the official art of him (realizing "hey he's got a cute design actually") and eventually encountering utsushi x hunter fanart on pixiv. another thing that got me noticing him was brian david gilbert's now deleted tweet about how zac efron and utsushi are the same. thankfully, we have the internet archive to save the existence of this post and i have to make sure people experience this lost media.

once i realized how weirdly close he was to the hunter, the gears started turning

i confirmed that ppl really did notice that it was unusual for an instructor character to refer to his pupil as "manadeshi (beloved/dearest disciple)" in the manner that he does, being so close to them in a way that felt so familiar and warm. he was already popular enough that by valentine's day 2022, fans literally sent real chocolates to capcom addressed to utsushi. i knew about this for a while, but i was shook that they wound up officially addressing that this really happened during the last update video.

after they received his chocolates, they immediately got one of the (female) illustrators on board to quickly draw that really cute valentine's day art of utsushi. the japanese tweet for that artwork had even a little bit more text than the english one…

that "i'll always be watching over you" line…

(and while i'm here, i have to mention the valentine's day art we got for 2023- i made a separate post about THAT.)

we started to suspect capcom caught on to this niche community's love for utsushi, and they started to kind of... troll us??? LOL.

throughout the previews of sunbreak last year, they would start obsessively sneaking utsushi into those chibi artworks. and when npc followers were announced, people were scrambling to find out if he was going to be one of them, but there also was some weird radio silence about him for a bit...

in one of the earlier trailers that showed the elgado hub for the first time, there was a very short part of the clip where ppl could see someone standing in the distance at the corner of the screen. all the utsushi fans went nuts because they were taking a magnifying glass and zooming up at there wondering if it was really him, because everyone wanted him to be there in sunbreak LOL.

of course we'd eventually find out that would be his perch for most of the game! it was only during the final preview trailer before the release of sunbreak did they finally announce utsushi as a follower, as if they were saving the best for last. and sunbreak dropped, we got to see him in elgado and enjoy hunting with him. and it didn't end there. he wound up being featured in two of the short stories released last summer, and we would not forget this incident.

when i think about how easy it is to just play through the story and miss out on following specific out-of-the-way flavor texts, let alone know about all this outside of the game, i wonder if utsushi joining the hunter in the battle against amatsu in the penultimate battle was strange, because he has such a spotlight on him, even being the one who allows you to ride an apex which was normally impossible. if people didn't acknowledge him before, certainly people would love him now.

his final line after you defeat amatsu: it's cute and silly in english... but in japanese, his line and delivery was extremely, almost unabashedly... romantic. many people were shocked because it sounded like a fervent confession.

"I'll say it once more... You are my pride, my beloved disciple."

finally, during the last update video…

we got this line straight from the director LOL. utsushi wound up being his personal favorite character in rise, and perhaps why we wound up seeing more and more of him in sunbreak.

all in all, if you kept up with the flavor text of rise, and if you followed utsushi's dialogue throughout the base game and expansion, the emotional pay off at the end was even better! and it is a shame when this stuff is mostly optional or you have to go out of the way for it, with so much being missable with every bit of progression. but making a monhun where story and character interactions are pushed more… i think they were on to something. it's probably something that could be divisive, but personally I think they should go all in on it more in the future. Rise proved that they could make charming and memorable (not to mention, named) characters... if they lean into it more in a future entry, then i hope they do it in a way where everyone can enjoy it and not feel like they missed out. but I also hope they would make it so that people don't feel overwhelmed with flavor text... it comes down to taste, but i think i have faith that monhun can try making more character-driven stories while still keeping the core of the series in tact.

here are some more miscellaneous utsushi things that i didn't know how to fit in earlier:

and for the sunbreak stories: a cake based on his fight with rathalos together with the royal guard, and then a drink that represents his... uh, struggle across the ocean to chase the hunter to elgado. because they will never let him live that down. i won't either.

here's a t-shirt of utsushi and kagami you can pick up on amazon right now. kagami was a very interesting arc when he was first shown- he was introduced as a long time friend of utsushi, training together in the past, but eventually parting ways.

his seiyuu in japanese is a sentai actor who loves monster hunter, so essentially, kagami is lowkey like a self-insert for him lol. he's goofy in english because he's voiced by a certain youtuber, but in japanese he takes a different direction of silly because he has a "chuunibyou" edgelord cringe way of talking. it's such a shame that kagami wasn't really in the game itself besides being mentioned in a few mission descriptions because i would've loved to see him interact with utsushi and the hunter, and i wish the royal knights and many of the NPCs had more cutscenes or something. it makes me think, if it weren't for the pandemic, could rise's story and scenario have been something more because of the DLC voice characters like hibasa/monju/kagami? anyway, a popular headcanon is that utsushi and kagami are ex-boyfriends lol (i personally like this one and adapted it for my utsuhan fanfics). but there are even those who ship kagautsu too (although it is rare because people overseas are a little wary of shipping characters who are based on real people).

Why yes of course, I have one myself! This is a Dismas/Dild plushie I've made three years ago, back when the official DD discord used to host fan content contests. It won third place and I've got the artbook as a prize-- there were only four contestants, but still! :D

For those who don't know about Dild, it was basically based on that meme where one breaks down a picture or more based on its syllables, and then mix and match the pieces for humorous results, as in such:

I'm not sure who came up with that, some searches on both the official DD subreddit and discord server seem to indicate a user named Coley was the first to post it, but I have no way of telling whether they created the meme or just took it from somewhere else. Dild's natural charisma quickly infatuated the community, resulting in lots of memes, fanarts, two mods and at least three plushies (no fanfics though, surprisingly enough considering what I've already witnessed out there in Ao3).

OKAY SO i said yesterday that i would make a post about how anime weekend atlanta went, so... basically it was a bit of a mixed bag because while i got to see tons of cool cosplays and merch and go to some neat panels, we (as in me and my dad who was traveling with me) ended up not only having car troubles the entire weekend but also had some absolutely ridiculous problems with ordering food. just as an example, one night we ordered a pizza and it took 3 hours to arrive and we never got told there would be any kind of delay 😭 BUT i will go ahead and share my cosplays and then list off some good things that happened! i'm slightly embarrassed about posting my face on here since i've never done that before but here goes:

i was edward elric on thursday and friday at AWA and lilia vanrouge (pop music club version) on saturday and sunday! i did a bunch of thrifting and DIYing (and pulling things i already owned out of my closet for lillia lmao) for both of these and i am especially proud of that automail glove. i also went to two twisted wonderland cosplay photoshoots on both saturday and sunday which was definitely fun, and i met todd haberkorn while in my ed cosplay and got him to autograph the same fullmetal alchemist artbook that i've previously had signed by caitlin glass! i also bought a handful of silly little trinkets and i will put photos of all this other stuff under a cut so people who don't care don't have it clogging their dash too badly.

and uhhh i think that's all i feel like sharing on here?? i wish i had gotten to go to more panels but the various unexpected issues i had throughout the con kept me from having the time to go to many, although the ones i did get to see were great. there was one where a nuclear propulsion plant operator and NASA software engineer graded various sciencey anime on how good or bad their science was and did a very thorough examination of whether or not the premise of planetes--a screw hitting a spaceship, putting a hole in it, and taking out an intercontinental suborbital flight--was plausible. he concluded that it is and gave the overall series an A+ for scientific accuracy, and i've never seen this show but now i want to.

Talking about plushies, I have my excuse for missing the whole december - not just my home-problems: I worked really hard to make her an Oliver Aiku plushie from her fav anime BlueLock - it was my first job, and I did not find the perfect fabrics in the shops, so as you'll see below, it is not my peak work, but I keep practicing to make BeeFormers plushies in the future. :)

It was not an option to keep ya'll updated, because at daytime while she's at school we talk via Tumblr chat, so I would unmask my secret with any post about it, and would definitely bust my own sorry-ass in a minute. ;D Also, I learned to make embodiery (!!!) - some fatass teardrops escaped from my eye, because I bet my granny laughed her ass off from Heaven: when I was a lazy teenager, I've never planned the learn things from her (though she was an official women's tailor), even She called me into her room, and now She has to see I am learning the same stuff from YT videos... hahaha... How the turntables...

I am so sorry I was a bit sad in the close past in comments, sometimes things pull me down - like missing friends I left behind the city; friends from abroad I cannot spend enough time with: sometimes it feels I am invisible, and everybody stepped over, and continue their lives, the challenges they meet day by day, and I don't fit in their lives anymore. It is hard to handle problems at home, while I just try to be happy, but others are unsatisfied with their own life, so they try to ruin others'... So nevermind, I just wanted to reach out to all of you, because I Love You SO MUCH, and I am greatful for following me on Tumblr and other sites (which I shall Update as well...), because you look after me, and never get tired to text me, ask me, love my drawings!!!

So, the main thing I've been working on for the past few years? A rickorty longfics series. It's got angst, fluff, smut, humor, drama, more angst, gangs, heroics, time travel, mindfuckery, and Interdimensional Cable. It's called A Tale Told By a Morty.

(I'd recommend clicking the above link before any of the ones below; that way you can see all the tags before diving in.)

Part 1 - Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Flesh Curtains (47k+ words) - Morty goes back in time and meets a young Rick. Mistakes are/were made.

Part 2 - A Citizen of the Multiverse (117k+ words) - Rick and Morty are bad at processing their feelings. But when they finally do, Rick's past comes back to haunt them both.

Part 3 - The Penitent Rick (131k+ words) - After his drunkenness indirectly gets Morty hurt, Rick swears off alcohol. While he's at a clinic, Morty deals with stuff at home, and meets up with old friends.

Part 4 - The Fears That Once Controlled Them (in progress)

Some things to note:

This series begins about four years after the end of season 5, which means A) Morty is 18 at the start, and B) It does not take the events of season 6 into account.

There's not much (percentage wise), but this series does have adult content. I mean ADULT.

This ain't just slow burn, it's downright glacial. The main ship doesn't officially get together until about halfway into part 2.

Another planet with an anthropomorphic sun. Fortunately or unfortunately, this sun is friendly and likes to sing. Populated by smoogians, cradhians, and throxoloxons.

Smoogians: They're almost all under three feet and they all resemble animal plushies. They eat plastic. The middle to upper class and abled Smoogians live in Smoogi City, while the poor and disabled Smoogians, as well as political dissidents, live in the outskirts. This is slowly changing.

Cradhians: They're an intelligent spiderlike species, about the size of a saucer, legs included. They communicate with a form of sign language using all eight legs. They emigrated to Smoogi City after their home was destroyed.

Throxoloxons: They're a hermaphroditic species that lived in the area that became Smoogi City before the Smoogians pushed them out. They're all masses of tentacles with eyestalks. They eat dreams.

Mayor Flumby: Faux affably evil (now ex) mayor of Smoogi City. Obsessed with keeping the status quo. Probably dead. Resembles a bear plushie.

Leelee: Mayor Flumby's second-in-command. Resembles a rabbit plushie.

Grobor: Blind. Mistrusts Mayor Flumby; leads a rebellion against him and the townsfolk. Sacrifices himself. Resembles a rabbit plushie.

Miss Mopple: Former friend of Mayor Flumby's. Current mayor of Smoogi City. Probably assassinated the old mayor. Married to Ilsilix. Resembles a raccoon plushie.

Zooni: One of Miss Mopple's guards. Ex-husband of Rovo. Resembles a lion plushie.

Rovo: Very tall for his species. Keeps Morty company and serves as a guide during his stay at Paerwesh. Ex-husband of Zooni. Resembles a horse plushie.

Cradhians

Ilsilix: Saved her species from genocide with diplomacy. Now married to Miss Mopple.

Sfilnin: Runs the daycare at Paerwesh.

Throxoloxons

Margeth: Child. Has a tendency to swear by accident.

Chlogul: Parental figure to Margeth. Takes over the rebellion after Grobor's death. Forms Paerwesh after the rebellion ends.

Places

Smoogi City: Where many Smoogians live

Paerwesh: A building where anyone who's down on their luck can stay. Formerly a house; served as the hideout for the rebellion.

Things

The censor: A structure that looked like a barbershop pole. Formerly used to censor anything inappropriate, if there were Smoogians around to witness it. Was dismantled and retooled, now disables hi-tech devices in its vicinity.

Goldorok Prime:

A planet with a barrier around it that prevents certain spacecrafts from getting in or out- including Rick's ship. There are pyramids in GP's sky that rain sparkles. Populated by tanglors and kithwiks.

Tanglors: They're a humanoid species with an extra set of eyes and an extra set of arms. Their skin is in shades of gray and their hair is cool tones. They eat primarily bark and bones. When threatened with serious physical harm, they will automatically teleport to a different location, although there is a limit to how far they might teleport. They also have pyrokinetic abilities, although it is not spoken of in polite company. Most can only generate heat, and at most, create sparks, but there are exceptions…

Kithwiks: They're purple blobs with snakelike lower halves. They have beaks they whistle out of, but the whistles mostly just communicate mood. For more elaborate communication, they use the long tendrils that come out of their backs, positioning them in all sorts of configurations. They can regenerate their flesh, no matter how much they lose, unless it's burned off. They have mild mind control powers, though most can only encourage others to do things they planned on doing anyway- basically, giving them a nudge. Most of the time, they have to be touching someone with their tendrils to control them, but the more emotionally close they are to someone, the further away they can be physically, while still being able to control them.

Gorra Seelins: Grijya's brother. Keeps getting in trouble with the gangs, but doesn't take them seriously.

Namrala Darlach: One leader of the Avatars. Usually called Mother Darlach. Might be dead.

Officer Helshon: Aided Commander Prynk in arresting Barros.

Tarrin: Prynk's second-in-command. Tasked with getting more information on the gangs.

Lorz Prennet: Namrala's second-in-command. Their motives, and fate, are a mystery.

Etebi (AKA Tenne) Kigati: Accidentally killed her parents. Kept prisoner by Dr. Mesile, who cut off her top arms. Freed by Rick.

Dr. Avran Mesile: Manipulated Etebi into killing her parents. Was going to train her to be a killing machine.

Zea: Frycook. Imprisoned by the Avatars. Freed by Morty. Very close with Charisma.

Pravash: Reesh's twin sister. Ex-wife of Barros. Overly cautious. Temporarily takes in Etebi and renames her Tenne.

Maziam: Gatekeeper. Helps Rick save Morty, betraying the Avatars in the process.

The Gateway: Protects the Avatars in exchange for sex slaves.

Kithwiks

Frozz, the Head Frozzulator: Works at Cafe Sweez, deseeding the eefee fruits. Keeps to himself. Takes over ownership after Barros' arrest.

Seven: Works at Cafe Sweez. Learns to write English so they can communicate with Morty.

Scythe: Imprisoned by the Avatars.

Charisma: Imprisoned by the Avatars. Very close with Zea.

Places

Skardoria: The nation where the story takes place

Café Sweez: Formerly owned by Barros, taken over by Frozz. Used to be a front, while also being a legitimate business in its own right. Unknown as of yet if Frozz plans to make it completely legit. They are famous for "eefee shakes."

Club Setweeba: Owned by Tiersi. Aside from hospitals and graveyards, is the only public spot where the gangs have unanimously agreed not to fight.

Lissal Street: A dangerous street that the gangs have completely taken over. Every building there is abandoned.

The basement: Tunnels that travel throughout the city, connecting different gang hideouts

The House of Shudrauth: A possibly sentient building that serves as the main base for the Avatars of Shudrauth. Whenever something tragic happens inside it, it will go dark and the rooms will move to random locations. The movement is not felt by the occupants. There is also a prison that is separate from the House, but considered part of it by the Avatars. The House has an anti-portal area of effect around it.

Things

The Slingers: A gang that makes and sells drugs in exchange for weapons. They wear blue.

The Gilded Knights: A new gang that causes trouble and does the whole protection racket thing. They wear gold.

The Avatars of Shudrauth: A cultlike gang. Some of them have tattoos of eyes. A subset of the Avatars are the Gatekeepers, whose job it is to keep the Gateway happy.

Eefee fruit: A fruit with multiple uses. The juice is used in drinks at places like Café Sweez, while the seeds are crushed and either kept as a powder, or formed into "eef sticks". Crushed eefee seeds get tanglors high while disrupting their teleportation abilities, and thus can be used recreationally, or for more nefarious purposes…

Hakorori-9:

A planet covered almost entirely in water or swamplands. Populated by rokaedas.

Rokaedas: They're an amphibious humanoid species. Some have fins, some have scales, and some have tentacles. They have greenish skin. They have a multi-purpose appendage that comes out of their forehead called a "prokei".

Prokei: A two-pronged appendage that comes out of all rokaedas' foreheads. They use it to taste/smell peoples' moods, and can transport someone to the "Mindscape" by inserting both prongs into the other person's ears.

Goeji: A breakfast food with a texture somewhere between a pancake and a marshmallow

haven't posted in a bit! just wanted to stop in & say i am not dead lmao. to be honest, i've been dealing with mental health issues that caused my physical health to decline a bit, but i'm trying my best to allow myself to rest & recover.

i'm probably gonna re-do my pinned post at some point cuz i'm officially 20 as of like 6 days ago & i might be able to give a better description of myself & my interests now that i've had time to know who i am on my own. long story short: 3+ yr relationship ended over a month ago, i didn't know anything about who i am without them, but i'm working on healing now & i'm returning to the things that bring me true joy, such as the happy aspects of my regression like toys & binkies & plushies & board books.

anyways i don't know what else to write but i got the random urge to share how i store my binkies so here it is, the giant bottle that is supposed to be a coin bank:

i figured this is the perfect way to store my pacis. like, the size of the container, the fact it's a big bottle, it just works lol.

anyways i hope everyone has a relaxing day of contentment, because i know happiness isn't always an attainable goal for a lot of us, so really all i want is for everyone to at least feel okay today.

Oooookaaayyy, I've checked out the stream and the news, and to say that I'm pumped would be putting things quite lightly.

Of course, it was fun to see the devs talk about stuff, some lovely folks I know from the Container popping up in the museum, and the Sanshee restock (that I'm contemplating about ordering from, even though my preordered Slugpup plushies haven't even been sent out yet).

But most importantly, we have the thing that everyone's been raving about....

A new DLC centered around Nightcat!

I very much adore this for many reasons.

The wording, as well as the screenshots in the Steam post imply that we're gonna be in a completely new area, away from the long abandoned facility grounds of LttM and FP. The new regions/areas were the absolute best part of Downpour, and having a DLC that is seemingly centered around them on an even bigger level just sounds incredible (Jadzio might also have some fun polling them, too :D).

The animation of the trailer is also pretty neat. It's short, sure, but there's just something about seeing Rain World in this new style that makes me smile. Style alternating is what makes me love League's animated media so much, and I'm very happy that RW is starting to dip its toes into that too.

The naming of the new Slugcat, as well as its stationary stealth ability... dude is a Slugcat Night Elf, fair and square. This could be a coincidence, sure, but I would absolutely not be surprised if there're some Warcraft fans amongst the devs, because that's a very obvious connection that I've made pretty much immediately. And I'm not saying that as a way of criticism - because I freaking love Night Elves, not just from a story and thematic perspective, but also their gameplay in Warcraft 3 (Terror of the Tides being an incredible campaign, and Eternity's End having a bunch of awesome moments helps a ton, too).

As for how me and the rest of the fandom will handle the Watcher in headcanons and potential content going forward, well...

It's gonna be a bit tricky, for sure. I imagine the DLC will not come out for quite a while, but it'll most likely shatter all my headcanons and lore ideas to pieces, and any plans of me writing stories about Nightcat just got even more complicated now. But I don't mind this too much, as I'm confident I'll be more than capable of figuring out how to integrate the official content into my stuff, and the same applies to the rest of the fandom, too (and if all else fails, I can always pull the "Nightcat and Watcher are two entirely different characters" card, but that sounds uncreative and boring, and I wanna avoid that, even if Enot was pretty much globally accepted as a different character, despite their color, and them mentioning 'being removed from Arena').

One other positive to mention is that Nightcat X Spearmaster might actually blow up a decent bit now. And if that happens, I'll get to claim the royal title of being someone from the original Inkblot gang, which will be amazing. Plus, more content about my favorite pair, who wouldn't be happy about that?

I just hope that the fandom isn't going to get into crazy arguments/dramas over the Watcher/Nightcat stuff. Everyone is going to change their content around the new revelations differently, and that's ok. I'm probably worrying about nothing here, but I have seen folks pick bones with creators over minor harmless stuff before, so my concerns are probably valid. Let's just let everyone have fun with whatever approach they wish to take, m'kay?

That's all my thoughts regarding the new revelations for now. If this post came off as a bit mixed, then I want to clarify that I'm still absolutely excited about the new content, and I'm very glad that this forgotten scug is getting its well deserved resurgence.

Everything is gonna be great and fun, and I am very much hyped about it! (I'm already in love with all the fan content, btw. The speed at which everyone is showing appreciation is simply staggering. You guys are impressive as all hell!)

Yeye! I get'cha and legit! Imma be honest when I played PLA (Pokemon Legends Arceus) I legit saw Ingo and was like oh, hes kinda cool ...hm hes familiar- and then it hit me- I was like ...THATS THE FUCKING SUBWAY BOSS N OOOO-

ah my beloved Pokemon Black n White ....those games haunt me /hj (i love em fr tho) but the goddamn Subway Bosses just- beat the shit out of me so many times when I was younger playing the games- I don't expect that to change, the one to give me the most hell was Emmet but I guess its fitting

and FGJDKJFHGKD frrrr tho- I will consume every bit of media of these two funky lil guys, they have legit become comfort characters and its so weird to me because, I've loved Pokemon ever since I was a kid, like a YOUNG kid- but I've NEVER??? gotten any sort of attachment to any of the characters? like, its only been the silly creechurs

Submas, Subway Bosses, etc- they gotta few titles that I know of- the silly lil train lads (btw! I got some plushies of them finally, not, not the official ones oh god NO- they would've emptied my monies, etsy had some alts <3)

and that's... Honestly a good question! As of right now, I don't know, but maybe in the future I'll write with the silly lil train guys both just of themselves and then well I DO have a Pokemon Trainer Sona that I've made and well, Ingo definitely plays a part in his story.

But for now I'm not sure if I'll write for them just yet
