8 and 18 for the YGO ask meme? P.S. Helloooooo ^.^
8. Favorite antagonist/villain
You know? Shoutouts to Brron! He doesn't get enough love. I really love his design and they way he's animated in the show, this sort of creaky dusty mummy that doesn't have any bones and joints in all the Wrong places.
18. A random headcanon
Ooh I can't narrow it down to just one so I'll do some for each series I've seen.
DM: Atem is stupid nearsighted and this is why he does the squinty squinty whenever he takes over. This is really impressive because he's the one who actually passed the drivers test for Yugi (Yugi's a fine driver, he just couldn't get through the exam without having a panic attack) and to this day no one knows how he did it because the man is coke-bottle-glasses-blind and needs help crossing the street most days. Yes, this means Yugi has technically driving illegally his entire life. No, he doesn't feel one bit bad about it.
GX: Listen to me. I am looking directly in your face. Tyranno Hassleberry would be an amazing principal/chancellor of duel academy. He's a friendly leader type who loves learning and being in charge of rowdy hooligans. He effortlessly takes command of the student body like three times in the series. He's weird and fun and would be utterly beloved by his students because yeah he talks like a retired army colonel but he also goes off on hours long tangents on the cretaceous period and lets any student who wants avoid going home over the holidays tag along on his archeology digs and/or camping trips. He seems to be friends with the entire work force of pro duelists and duel historians and duel physicists and regularly invites them to the island to give presentations. I know Shepard set the bar low but Tyranno Hassleberry is going to raise it.
5Ds: I haven't posted any art of it, but I like to draw Yusei with tattoos! He gets a new one for every person that's important to him, so he has a full sleeve on his right arm (though his tattoo for Martha is right over the scar on his stomach) and even gets the dragon head inked back on after the end of the series. Also as stated previously I fully believe in my heart of hearts that Carly Carmine is a lesbian. And I believe with certainty that she should go on a date with Stephanie (the server from blue eyes coffee). Stephanie opens up her own little queer coffee shop called "Les Bean" or smth and Carly becomes a full on investigative reporter who keeps getting in trouble with the cops because she and her six foot tall emotional support himbo investigate leads by picking fights with violent criminals and there's really nothing anyone can do about it.
Zexal: I haven't finished with the series yet but I am full to bursting with headcanons for what astral world is like and if the show wants to contradict me it is welcome to try. I think astral world is completely underwater and filled with bioluminescence and weird deep sea creatures. Everything is floaty and sways in the currents and an astral's hair is like the fronds of a sea anemone and it is customary/fashionable to have schools of fish swimming around in it. Some astrals decorate their bodies with coral and plants and are floating ecosystems. There's a good deal of Societal Value attached to how many creatures you are in symbiosis with. Astral himself doesn't know exactly why he feels so grief stricken when he sees Yuma fiddle with the beads in his hair, or feels so lonely when he looks in an aquarium, but he's working on it, and as far as he's got Yuma, then he's not alone at all :)
#I've gone in to depth on my favorite villains in each part in my part breakdowns so yeah shoutouts to Brron#GX season 3 really is such a specific brand of body horror#this kinda turned in headcanon central whoops#answered asks#ask game#yugioh dm#yugioh gx#yugioh 5ds#yugioh zexal

I'm curious. What was everyone's first anime amv's that you watched and what ones stays in your mind rent free?
youtube
This Ryou Bakura/ Yami Bakura amv got me into RED back in high school. If ya'll have read the og Yu-Gi-Oh manga and Duelist, ya'll know. If not, let's just say its wayyy darker than the 4kids anime we grew up with and a lot of stuff was censored. All the crap Yami Bukura put poor Ryou through, Yami was super creepy and throwing out death punishments left and right, but the people deserved it. That was even before the card game was introduced!
youtube
I know, I know, Inuyasha is basic and over memed to death, but it's still very close to my heart. It was my first anime in middle school and is very close to my heart, say what you will, but I love the dub. I've re-watched the series 5 times before The Final Act aired, I watched it every week both in subbed and dubbed. I've read the manga online years ago after the original anime ended cuz I had to know what happened! I bought the VizBigs and have a couple of the anti-manga which I hope to finish collecting someday, have other merch and games too.
I'll even share that I used the instrumental version of "Dearest" while walking down the isle for my wedding. Why? The song fit my husband and me so well, we had been through so much together and our love only grew stronger. Even while we were apart, we never stopped thinking of each other.
youtube
Eternal Snow always hits me with heavy nostalgia. Do I always cry while singing it? Of course, I do. I always come back here in winter to listen to this beautiful song. I remember watching the whole series on YouYube in high school after reading the manga. The story really sticks with you and inspiring, no matter what your dream is.
youtube
This amv I think best summarizes Kai Chisaki, Overhaul perfectly as a character. He has such a twisted mind, but that's part of the reason he was such a great villain, and his style/quirk made him such a bad-ass villain.
The way Pops found Kai as a boy, alone, covered in filth and I imagine he was hungry, always made me feel as if we were missing something from his past before the latest chapters came out. He wanted more than anything to replay the man who saved him, rebuilding the Shie Hassaikai's former glory and reputation along with returning people quirkless. Might have saved so many lives who were eventually lost, but at the end of the day, he still choose the darkest route and solution.
"You have no place here", hearing those words from Pops, his father figure, that's probably what finally pushed him to do everything he did. Ignoring Pops wish and taking matters into his own hands, its brief, but it hurt him, he's shocked before recollecting himself and putting Pops into a coma.
Kaiâs final scream makes me cry every time because you just know thatâs when he realized heâs lost literally everything he ever had, his quirk, the ability to fix Pops, the Shie Hassaikai his only home, and the quirk erasing bullets and serum, his plan that's been pouring so much time and who knows how long working on.

I haven't said it often on here at least, haha. But MDZS is one of my favorite BL anime, danmei, and manhua I've been obsessed with since 2020.
If you haven't watched MDZS, or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, I highly recommend it. The world building, music, the characters, the animation and raw feelings it pulls out of you.
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's love is only a part of the series, the depth of their feelings cannot be matched by anything after what theyâve gone through together. No boundaries to their relationship and not even death stops their love.
Lan Zhan let go of everything to protect Wei Ying and tried to feel the pain he felt. They went through life and death together. It was literally them against the world. Even though they had no one by their side, they were with each other.
I still have to catch-up with The Untamed... XD I always play their song, "WANGXIAN" before "Mourning for Love."

If you don't mind me asking, who are your favorite âvillainsâ (or antagonists) in all of MXTX novels? (Whether you want to do a ranking or just write out in no particular order)...Sorry if you've answered this question before....Thanks....
part of me wants to do a full ranking but I feel like that's the devil talking. so I'll just name off some of my favorites.
Su Minshan is the obvious one, because he's basically taking THREE types of character i usually like a lot (villain with Failed/Gone Wrong Hero vibes; sneaky cursing & poisoning bastard energy; devoted subordinate of other villain I like) and combining them into one package.
Jin Guangyao is a close followup, tho. I'm also a huge fan of villains with incongruous personalities to their main role in the story, and appreciate that he's a genuinely well done 'villain with some good points'--genuine good balanced against genuine bad, and a lot of crunchy neutral and gray stuff in between. Also it's so common to have villains that are trying to get High In Society look down on or plan to discard of any villainous connections they have, but JGY eschews that to have genuine relationships with both XY and SMS. we stan.
...Fuck I'm gonna have to put Xue Yang third. MDZS just knocked it out of the park with its villains for me, lol. I've mentioned in the past that I've been very fond of 'slightly childish ~crazy~ murderer' character types in the past and were always disappointed with how little depth they had, so XY is a gift in that way. And every other way. The Yi City arc is one of the, if not the, best MXTX subplot of all time, and it couldn't be the way it is without XY.
Tianlang-Jun and Zhuzhi-Lang from SVSSS are right up there as well, just because they're so entertaining. A friend described Zhuzhi-Lang as being like a fairy that decides it owes you a favor so it keeps trying to help you out, but it just does it in the worst and most unhelpful ways possible. Tianlang-jun is just... such a creep, but in such a straightforward way it's hilarious instead of offputting (him dragging up a chair to (presumably) watch SQQ and ZZL fuck is one of my top funny moments from SVSSS as a whole) and both of them have an entertaining Blue and Orange Morality vibe to them I enjoy. Not to mention ZZL's extra chapters killed me emotionally đ˘
Aand last but not least, can we call the Three Tumors villains? I feel like at least Ling Wen can count as an antagonist, considering that she acts as one for a chunk of the book. Ling Wen, and Shi Wudu if we can stretch the definition. (I feel like General Pei, with his extremely tenuous Token Good Teammate qualities, doesn't quite make the grade but rest assured I love him too). I just *points at top of list* love horrible people that care about each other! The truest of friendship is knowing where each other's bodies are buried, metaphorically, and Pei Ming and Ling Wen both reacting in a way that indicates they KNOW about the He Xuan business really speaks to the depth of theirs. Shi Wudu kind of hits me where it hurts as someone who came from a bad family and got out with one sibling, and Ling Wen just. Has my heart. 10/10 would bring her tea every morning and never ask about her murky past.
#replies#and nobody has asked me this before so thanks for it ^ ^#i would have done a full ranking but... i would have taken Days#elaine2895

For the 500 word fanfic passage thing. I checked and it's 482 words. This is my fav scene from LOTS of your fics (I've been following u since 2016) and I would really love to hear about it <333
"Barry snuggled back into Lenâs chest, but while he hid his face for a moment, he soon looked up again. âLen, can youâŚpleaseâŚjust tell meâŚâ
âWhat, Barry?â Len asked, because if Barry needed to hear him say âI love youâ, as much as the thought made Lenâs insides twist with so many people listening in, heâd comply in a heartbeat.
But that wasnât what Barry asked. âWhat color are my eyes?â he said, timid, fearing the answer no matter how much he tried to be brave.
Len ached from the depths of his chest to the base of his spine, he loved this kid so much. âGreen, Scarlet,â Len said, and smiled a little wider for how heâd unintentionally used the one nickname that conjured another color. âTheyâve always been green. Or that gorgeous yellow Iâll never tire of seeing.â He stroked beneath Barryâs eyes again, and wished he wasnât wearing his gloves so he could feel the kidâs skin.
âIâm not like himâŚâ Barry said, eyes drooping in exhaustion.
âNever.â
âIâmâŚâ and then Barry went limp, all his remaining weight falling against Len in a rush.
âBarry? Barry?â Lenâs voice rang with a note of panic, but the others were there, all at once, so many helping hands reaching down to take Barry from him. Half of Len wanted to fight against their intrusion, but then he saw Caitlin and Cisco, and he knew that Barry needed them to get better.
Scudder had left Barry starved and dehydrated and soul-weary. Barry needed more than just Len, just like Len needed more than only thieving and a place to rest his head, more than a single dear friend, a sister he couldnât live without, and a handful of others he kept at armâs lengthâand it was Barry who taught him that.
Iris and her brother reached down to help Len stand, while Mick was the one who finally hefted Barry into his arms in a bridal carry and followed Caitlin and Cisco into the med room.
Hartley and Singh asked questions over the comms that Lisa fielded so Len wouldnât have to. Iris smiled at Shawna and thanked her, which made the tension creeping up in Shawnaâs shoulders ease away despite being back in this place again, a place that reminded her of the worst that had ever happened to her and the worst sheâd ever done. She smiled back at Iris with a grateful nod.
Then there was West, who moved toward Len with watery eyes and too much emotion bare on his face. He gripped Lenâs arm, not to fight, but to offer gratitude that Len wasnât sure he deserved. Barry had saved the day, and Shawna, both far more than he had, yet West met Lenâs eyes and said âThank youâ in a way that made Len feel like maybe their merry band of misfits wasnât so impossible a team up after all."
I think the biggest thing about this scene, which thank you, anon, is also one of my favorites, and from Lovesick, my favorite fic ever, is that it all ties back to what really prompted everything in the story â Barryâs broken emotional state. Heâs in a bad place and wants so desperately to not be like Eobard that he inadvertently acted more and more like him with his awful plan to break Lenâs heart.
He thought it was justified because Len was just another villain whoâd hurt him and others and deserved it, only to discover how wrong he was, and slowly realize how far gone he is, not only on Len, falling in love with him, but just to the darker part of himself that he now realizes only Len can ever really understand. The difference from Eobard is that Barry wants to be better, he wants to change, but heâs still so scared he canât.
This is also such a pinnacle scene because itâs right before Barry and Len finally get to truly make up for everything and get back together, but clearly the desire, the love between them, is there even before they hash out the final things they need to say to each other.
I also cannot get enough of Len being forced to show his softer side in front of everyone. Like he canât not hold Barry and be willing to do anything for him when he thought heâd lost him, even to the point of thinking heâd say I love you in front of this huge audience if Barry asked, but all Barry wants is to be told heâs not the worst of himself anymore, heâs better, itâs going to get better, and he needs to hear it from Len, whoâs the person he hurt more than anyone else.
I love vulnerable Len, and I love that he gets validation here too, because everyone is with him, theyâre a team, and people who once never would have trusted him are right there at his side too. The culmination being Joe, because no one else could be more against the relationship, but to see the lengths Len was willing to go for Barry, even Joe accepts him, thanks him, and Len gets to be the hero.
Itâs also the last of Barryâs rock-bottom. After this, they get to healâtogetherâeven though they still have the final fight ahead.
Plus, I love making you guys weepy, and making myself weepy in the process. ^_^

If there ever does happen to be a Gone TV shows, is there anything that you would want them to do/ change?? I've been thinking about it a lot recently and I think it has the potential to be good but at the same time I feel like (and this is such a rare line of thought from me) if they strictly stick to canon it could be...uncomfortable??
thatâs an interesting thought! i think i get what youâre saying. there's a lot of distinctly uncomfortable moments in the series that i think mg didnât really think through the implications of (like caineâs veiled rape threat to diana that i guess isnât supposed to affect our feelings toward him to such a degree that we donât want him to get redeemed, lots of caine being evil for the sake of it, sam being horrible to astrid because she wouldnât have sex with him, everyone being racist to edilio in the first book and then it...never really comes up again except for the human crewâs cartoonishly evil bigotry which also doesnât have lasting impact on the fayz after zil and lance die). oof, and that isnât even touching all the ableism informing little pete and the misogyny you detailed in your post!
if there was anything iâd like the show to do, itâd probably be to streamline the plot a little. like, i love the series, but it gets super messy. the events that happen in individual books seem to rarely carry over aside from major character beats. i love the booksâ individual contained subplots, like those that center the perspectives of duck zhang and hunter and zil, and i really hope the tv show maintains them without minimizing them. i think they do a lot to flesh out the fayzâs general population and the scale of morality mg is dealing with. and of course i really hope they adapt orcâs subplot, which is my favorite. but i think some other stuff could be minimized--i liked orsay, but what was the point of giving her a pov? she lessened in importance almost right off the bat once she entered the fayz; she was just a tool for nerezza. and nerezza herself seems like an odd character. i really enjoyed lies for astridâs arc and the general focus on the fayzâs politics/morality, but honestly i think the tv show should cut back on nerezza and focus on the human villains, meaning zil and the human crew...honestly i think most of my suggestions would be on the structure of the show throughout its seasons (iâm thinking idealistically, of course), because tv shows are so different from books. i guess i worry about the focus being all over the place because thereâs so many different povs throughout the books! speaking of...
this may completely contradict my prior point but i literally love the rotating povs of the books and i kind of wish that would be amped up a little in the show? like, instead of being mostly focused on sam with subplots focusing on other characters scattered throughout, iâd love if it was a little more of an ensemble show. in the first season (which i imagine would adapt the first book), iâd really love maybe a few scenes showing off howard and orcâs characters in more detail. we get that scene in gone where orc reveals his fatherâs abusive nature, and thatâs definitely essential if they want to give him some pathos and set up his arc, but iâd love to have little moments where the audience just sees the kids of bully row just vandalizing stuff and messing around. like, establishing that as dumb and bullying as they are, theyâre still just kids, and theyâre nothing compared to the outright villainy of caine and drake. we get that vibe in the first book, definitely, but i think weâd need more scenes establishing that. iâd love it if we saw that there are certain lines that howard and orc as bullies wouldnât cross. that would make us feel even more shocked when orc accidentally murders bette. also, i hope weâre shown that scene in the show instead of just being told about it like in the book.
i also hope that the first season gives astrid, like, an actual job/role to fill? thereâs like a line in gone where sam calls her his assistant, but i kind of wish sheâd be deemed the fayzâs resident researcher or something, preferably before she gets together with sam (which iâll talk about later) so that the only job description the audience has of her isnât âsamâs girlfriend.â i also really want the show to give us a couple scenes establishing astrid and edilio as potential leaders of the fayz as well, not just automatically discounting them because theyâre not the protagonist. sam can still eventually come out on top, i guess, because it happens in canon, but at least let the characters discuss it in more detail.
also, i want little pete to have an actual relationship with astrid! show how much they care for each other in their own way. astrid can still have her negative feelings toward the responsibility she has in taking care of him, but alongside that should be love. astrid should also keep working with him on his therapy as a means of communicating with him more effectively, which is something iâm super frustrated no one thought to do in canon!
as for character relationships...i sort of wish astrid and sam donât get together in the first season. focus on building up their friendship first. sam can still have his crush, but there should maybe be some tension whether astrid reciprocates or not. remember that weird plot point where itâs revealed in the later books that astrid was manipulating sam in order to get his protection? even though thereâs like...no indication of that in the first book? bring that in from astridâs pov, with her realizing how dangerous the fayz is (maybe after bette dies). make it ambiguous whether sheâs really romantically interested in him. give her sympathy; show her fear for herself and her little brotherâs safety. and show sam and her friendship! but also thereâs ambiguity there. that maybe could be a cliffhanger for season 1--is astrid tricking sam, or does she really like him? bonus: itâs her that initiates their first kiss, preferably at the very end of the season instead of happening midway through, just before sam goes off to battle. though sam has a crush on astrid, sheâs not his reason for not poofing; instead, he thinks of his friends and the innocent kids heâd be leaving behind to the mercy of caine and realizes that he has a responsibility he canât shirk.
also...flashbacks!! iâd love it if we got flashbacks through each episode (with the focus being on one individual character per episode) of the charactersâ family dynamics. would give the characters more depth and pathos right off the bat. maybe leave off on that for antagonists like drake and caine though. speaking of--show dianaâs better qualities!!! show her fear of the rapidly escalating events happening at coates, show her tenuous grasp on caine, show the vulnerability behind the mask of glib snark. maybe she reveals this vulnerability when sheâs alone. maybe show her trying to persuade caine not to string up andrew in order to observe the proof. show her looking on in horror at the kidsâ cemented hands. little things like that can go a long way to humanize her. also, show the casual sexualization sheâs subjected to by her peers at coates--maybe that could be part of the reason why she doesnât leave immediately after caine does evil stuff. maybe she feels like she wants revenge for the things she suffered in the past from her classmates. itâs a misplaced sense for vengeance, but itâs still sympathetic. and diana can realize âoh, this was a huge mistakeâ the minute things get real. make her desire to be caineâs queen an extension of her trauma over her past powerlessness, subjected to the abuse of her momâs boyfriends. donât necessarily make her a wilting flower, keep her pettiness and meanness, but give her a little more humanity!
also--okay this is more of a self-indulgent thing but--iâd like more scenes between orc and astrid! just a few, just to flesh out their relationship a tiny bit in the first season so the coates scene* comes off as powerfully as possible. remember when orc was okay with drake potentially torturing astrid because he didnât want to lose face in front of sam in the first book? because he was too prideful to admit he cared for her? show astrid reacting to that! show astrid using that to attempt to sway him to her and samâs side! maybe thereâs a moment where, in the scene where the kids see orcâs growing mutation, orc catches a glimpse of the bruise on astridâs cheek from drakeâs slap and feels visible regret. maybe astrid notices that and tries to subtly manipulate him over to the side of good, while still having genuine compassion for whatâs happening to him mutation-wise. i just think their dynamic is so good and iâd love for astrid to utilize one of the few personal connections she had pre-fayz.
anyway, this is getting way too long, so iâll cut it off here. sorry for the length! thank you very much for the ask! :)
*the coates scene in plague is one of those few scenes in the series that comes off as exactly as uncomfortable as mg intended, imo. like the implications probably should have carried over to orcâs arc a little more but still! i want it to be preserved in the tv show. it could be so good! the writers would have to tread lightly, but if they get it right, it could be phenomenal (in my obviously biased opinion lol).

I've basically fallen from. The face of the earth, I ended up doing construction full time??? It's awful 10/10 do not recommend. Have ghosted everyone and everything. I come back and peep but am a giant scaredy cat to interact. If you're still down I'd love to hear director's commentary about Fatal Ties?? đ
Itâs very flattering that youâre this interested in my writing. I already sent you a private message about the other parts of this ask so this is all commentary. I had way more to say than I thought but it was fascinating to re-visit these passages and realize some things I missed before, and just expose myself I guess haha.
Before I start this is one of two warnings. I hardly ever get to talk about my writing in depth so Iâm going to be indulgent. In other words, this will be lengthy. Iâm putting it all under a read more.
Fatal Ties Directorâs Commentary
Chapter 1:
Firstly, Iâve edited this chapter on my own and it reads completely different now. No, I will not be posting the edited chapters here. Iâve change the pov and given each character a different name in order to make it a full, original mafia story. I have not gone back and read this story in months at this point though so the thoughts that spring to mind should be interesting/informative if not entertaining. Also of note real quick, there will be dark and less than savory topics mentioned; namely violence, child abuse, human trafficking, nonbinary erasure, drugs, and sexual violence. None ad nauseam, but they are themes strung throughout this story and I feel itâs important youâre warned before continuing. If you are sensitive to these or think you may be triggered please do not force yourself to read this. Most of it is in chapter 5, but still. That being said, it wonât be all doom and gloom so letâs just jump into it.
Typically I enjoy starting off a story with dialogue or an action. Here, it was dialogue. Baekhyun entering the Bossâ manor to meet them. I think the best starting point for a story is the inciting incident for the main plot-line. Many mainstream scripts are structured so you see what the main characters lives are like on the regular before the balance is upset, but in writing I feel that bogs down the first few chapters so I skip it. This is fanfiction for fun so who cares about setup. Itâs Baekhyun. Thereâs an arranged marriage. You know the drill.
For âFatal Tiesâ the Boss has been working on this truce for years, but the main plot of the telling is them actually meeting Baekhyun, and how that changes them as their relationship grows. The Boss doesnât like the idea of marrying a stranger. Let alone someone from the rival syndicate. Who would? Baekhyun, as they find out rather quickly. Heâs too amorous about it all. They donât trust Baekhyun. They believe heâs a honeypot the other boss sent to spy on them. I mean, of course they think that. Baekhyun is clumsily flirting and overly flattering. Spitting compliments out excitedly at every turn even though itâs clear he knows nothing about them. Calling them princess and doll. Theyâve worked too hard for too long, and sacrificed too much to suffer being mis-gendered in their own home by some immature idiot. They donât suffer being looked down on or erased anymore. They will be recognized for who they are, and as an equal to every other mafia boss.Â
Their rage boils inside them with every slip. The moment the Boss grabs Baekhyunâs collar is when I tried to set up how precarious this all is. That threat isnât empty. The Boss will kill him and the rest of his family if this contract doesnât work out. Theyâd rather just sign a contract though. Less work and no sloppy transition times as mentioned in the next chapter.
Speaking of which, this contract isnât legally binding. Itâs more an honor contract than anything. Thatâs why Baekhyun is there to marry the Boss. Itâs really just another business deal to the Boss. Thatâs how real mafias joined their houses in the past. I made this more clear by adding this line to the Bossâ dialogue in the edit: âAlso contracts in ourâŚrealm of business arenât legally binding so itâs insurance. Symbolic more than anything, really, but thatâs that.â
As a side note, I ended up doing far more research than I anticipated for this. Most of the knowledge I acquired hasnât been utilized yet, but I refuse to think I wasted hours of my life reading business, money laundering and fraud law for nothing. Limited liability, shell corporations, deficits, ugh itâs giving me a headache just thinking about all the jargon I had to sift through.
Okay back to the thing. I made a conscious decision to describe the Bossâ manor as such. Their dad built up the drug business. Theyâre just tweaking it to be more profitable. It hasnât been revealed yet, but their dad wanted to surround himself with expensive things to feel more important and successful since he started from near nothing. The Boss, on the other hand, doesnât enjoy living in this big house. Itâs too cold and empty. They want to live in a normal home further from the city and have their only worry be about if their garden is getting enough sunlight. A peaceful life. That wonât happen unless a truce is called between them and Baekhyunâs family. It truly means everything to them that this marriage go well.
Had someone tell me it was so satisfying when the Boss smashed that mug over Baekhyunâs head. That felt good. I figured thatâs the first major tell of their character. They get annoyed at being mis-gendered and harassed, but instead of leaving or yelling or anything a regular person might do, they lash out with violence. They were raised in the mafia where mistakes were atoned with blood. You ever seen âJohn Wick 3â? Fucking love Keanu Reeves. Some of my favorite action movies. Anyway, sort of like that. The Boss has very little mercy in them. Or patience. Bad combination. But for good reason. Any small slip-up could result in life in prison, so yeah.
The other major tell of character was in what the Boss did right after. Cleaning up the broken mug. They take responsibility for what they knew was a mistake. They clean up their own mess. They immediately know to call for Yixing the doctor and calmly explain things to Baekhyun when he wakes up. I intentionally never had them say âsorry.â They admit they were wrong to hit him, but they donât apologize. Even so, the moment Baekhyun sees a glimmer of a chance for approval from the Boss he jumps in to help cover it up. Knowing that if his parents found out they hit him any peace that mightâve been forming would be tenuous at best. More likely, his dad would take it as a personal attack and retaliate.
Then right at the end Baekhyun shows some kind of guilt and/or concern for causing their hand injury and it throws off the Bossâ instincts. Suddenly heâs willing to shoulder the blame and offering to help. Being respectful. A total flip from before. It makes the Boss harden their guard more. Proving he shouldnât be trusted. Or, at least, they canât entertain the possibility that heâs trustworthy. Not yet. Still, heâs saving them significant stress by lying to his parents about his head, so the Boss is much more gentle in turning him down before going to bed.
Chapter 2:
Despite what it looks like, this sex scene was not put in gratuitously. Itâs very, very important setup for just about everything else, and itâs filled with foreshadowing. I knew it would be important to get a glimpse at the Bossâ secret affair in itâs normality before it got twisted a few chapters later. It shows a peek into the Bossâ hidden personal desires. They crave real affection. Their issues prevent them from actually believing that Kyungsoo loves them, but deep down they hope itâs true. Theyâre wary of entertaining those hopes however, because that means they could have a weakness for others to exploit. See literally any secret agent plot-line ever. The loved ones are threatened first and used as leverage for the villains. So the Boss denies that itâs anything more than physical.
I tried to convey the timeline a bit better later, but just so itâs clear Baekhyun meets the Boss three years after theyâve taken over from their dad. So Kyungsoo and them met back then and very painfully slowly the tension grew. I will admit to having fun imagining this bit in my own head just cause I love sexual tensions that build until they break and itâs this massive burst of passion. The Boss doing their best to keep everything professional, turning Kyungsoo down when he tried to talk to them, until finally they caved. Realizing after having a few conversations with him that, âfuckâŚIâve liked him this whole time.â Theyâre around each other literally all the time. A bond had formed without them even noticing. Once it was noticed it took yet another year of Kyungsoo flirting and finding excuses to touch them, like, on the base of their spine, their hair, their hand, etc, before their will broke and they gave in. Theyâre both horrible at communicating it, but they do care for one another. Maybe at varying degrees, but they care. I hope that was made clear in this chapter.
Of note, Kyungsooâs immediate hatred of Baekhyun, the fact he brought it up after the Boss had already switched off their brain to be submissive, the pet names he uses, the fact that the call for silence at the end is explained from the Bossâ perspective, and when he brings up the idea of wiping out Baekhyunâs family without a contract thereâs this sentence: âHe was back on this nonsense again.â
The theme here is control, if you didnât notice. The Boss enjoying a space where theyâre safe out of control, Kyungsoo trying to convince them not to give up sole control of their business by partnering, etc. Thatâs not all the foreshadowing, but I donât want to make the plot too easy to predict by giving them away.
The last few paragraphs are the deep dive into the Bossâ motivations and reasoning. I think itâs also the second time Baekhyunâs familyâs business is alluded to, but Iâll reveal that in a later chapter commentary when itâs possible for the reader to have deduced it on their own. It also shows in the last few lines where the Bossâ priorities are. The contract is number one. They will sacrifice everything for it. Even what may be their only chance at something close to love.
Chapter 3:
This is the second time Iâve written the main character eating eggs on toast. Itâs delicious, and I lack the creativity to describe different foods. Itâs just to pace the scene with actions because theyâre eating instead of just sitting around. If one day my works are looked at by English professors theyâll probably say it symbolizes the Bossâ practical, fast-paced lifestyle. It doesnât. I just like eggs on toast.
The fact Baekhyun doesnât lie about snooping is the first big revealing thing showing that he doesnât really want to. He doesnât care about being caught because he just doesnât care that much. He makes the remark about firing the guards posted outside his door as a joke. Ha-ha I walked around your house doing nothing with no supervision. He doesnât realize how grave a mistake that was. He doesnât realize that remark was the cause of two lives being ruined by the Boss. He will understand later because, as you learn later, he listens in on the Bossâ meeting with those guards via bug he put in their blazer. I have not written the effect of that yet, but it did affect Baekhyun. Thereâs a very clear butterfly effect from this one small choice.
Next he tries to get Kyungsoo to talk. He plays it off as trying to get to know the head of security. Needling the Boss to try and prove his hunch that it was Kyungsoo he heard them fucking the night before. I didnât bother insinuating he had suspicions about anyone else because Baekhyun is smart and he knows that 1) Yixing is the only other person heâs met so far and that wasnât his voice. 2) Kyungsoo is at the Bossâ side all day, and he hasnât spoken around Baekhyun yet.
When he sees the Boss is about to leave he uses the name âkitten.â Baiting them by antagonizing them. Switching his tactics. The day before he had played up the whole âIâm here to do what you wantâ thing and now heâs realized he should be more domineering. He doesnât always succeed because thatâs not entirely in his nature, but here it sort of works to, as John Mulaney and JJ Bittenbinder would say, âthrow them off their rhythm.â
I amuse myself by adding in little quirks to the Boss. Each time I describe a room itâs meant to be pictured immaculate and modern with everything in perpendicular lines. Showing that theyâre a little peculiar about style and cleanliness. Anal retentive one might even say. All their clothes are tailored, most of them are suits, the mass of cabinets in the kitchen so the counters are clear, etc. Another side note, this is set in the 2000âs mostly for law reasons. Some didnât exist until later which made what the Boss does near impossible to get away with, but I wanted cell phones and Iâm picky about realism like that. So 2000âs decor. Black and white with pops of color in the decorations, chrome, clean finishes. I work in interior design so I was a little particular about some stuff for no reason other than my own amusement like the big kitchen with white countertops, and the blue and grey paisley wing-back chairs. When I edit this chapter Iâm going to go into more detail on the rug though to give a clearer picture when the blood ruins it. Which really did cause the Boss dismay just like the bloody hand wrappings. For cleanliness but also they donât like conducting business at home outside of paperwork and research. I thought it showed more about their character that they were upset over the bloody wrappings rather than the dead body and such.
My favorite part about writing the Bossâ character is how theyâre constantly in a shade of darker grey. Everyone operates in shades of grey, but I love it when I see characters that are closer to the black and yet youâre still cheering for them. Theyâre morally corrupt and objectively not a good person, but you still like them. Theyâre still the hero, so to speak, of the story. Thatâs what Iâm trying to achieve with the Boss. Back to âJohn Wick.â Heâs a good example. So is Loki. Theyâre mass murderers, but we as an audience still love them because they feel like real people. Their motivations garner sympathy, and itâs their methods that are skewed. I love the challenge of threading that line between the Boss being the protagonist and villain simultaneously. Referring back to a line Kyungsoo had; they may need to be protected from themselves. Disney villain style I guess. Their actions cause their own doom. Not necessarily because the hero did anything. Gaston, Clayton, The Evil Queen, Frollo, Scar, etc, etc. You get it. I love that. Thatâs not giving away the ending, by the way. I donât like following formulas too much. I honestly havenât even decided on an ending yet. Thereâs lots of options. Iâll decide when I get there.
Anyway, this chapter was my attempt at showing more of that dark grey for the boss. They could have just as easily let the guards off with a warning, or broken a finger or something, but instead they went for the extreme. âTheir offense was too greatâ as the chapter says. All they did was let Baekhyun out of his room, you might say. The Boss doesnât see it that way. They donât know what Baekhyun did unsupervised all night. But somehow he already found out about one of the few secrets that could topple everything out of balance. Their affair. Not that his family is sensitive over infidelity or anything, but it was what the Boss was afraid of; Kyungsoo being used against them. A weakness. Baekhyun found their weakness just like that, and they thought the reason was the guards letting him out. If Baekhyun hadnât gotten restless legs, or just not teased the Boss about walking around that morning, they probably wouldnât have checked the security footage, and those guards wouldâve survived.
Instead, the Boss outright kills one and mutilates the other. Framing him so heâd go to prison. They enjoy taking out their frustration on the guard. In their mind he deserves it for being careless.
Had someone comment a reference to Yixing with the whole âact of kindness, act of cruelty. Balanceâ thing, but that was actually inspired by a scene in season 2 of Fargo. Although both people end up dying in that show. Love that show. Inspired this whole thing actually. I know Iâve mentioned that somewhere else before, but itâs true. Itâs one of my favorites itâs so brilliant. I donât think this will ever be up to par with that, but Iâm okay with that.
Point being, consequences. Baekhyunâs choices had a ripple effect, and they continue past this chapter.
Chapter 4:
Obviously you find this out later, but Baekhyun was listening to the Boss and Kyungsoo on those headphones. Not music.
The Boss gives in to talking with Baekhyun in the car because they find it cute heâs acting like a puppy. Also because he might let something else slip. Oh, also, the line about them lying about nothing being wrong was them being worried about Baekhyun blabbering about their affair with Kyungsoo.
Baekhyun attempts to have a normal conversation, but it doesnât stay that way for long. All the Boss can talk about is work. If youâve ever watched âHot Fuzzâ I imagine this interaction playing something like the first day Nicholas and Danny are together. Itâs not as sharp as in that movie, but the feeling of a less experienced person questioning this serious person with the least serious questions. Baekhyun sees this as a game or a movie more than something real and dangerous. He only heard the meeting in the last chapter, after all. He doesnât realize yet that the gunshot killed that guard. Heâs watched his mom get married to a mafia leader and live rich like an actress. Heâs naive of the price it takes to stay comfortable like that. Itâs still a movie where people are killed off screen and there are no major repercussions. Even in his answer about the knife he says he would kiss them as if it were some James Bond film.
I tried to make it clear, but just to spell it out, Baekhyun is the rival leaderâs step-son. He has two step-brothers from the rival leadersâ two previous marriagesâMinseok and Jongin. So he didnât grow up in this dark, depraved world like these other characters. He was folded in at an older age. Heâs more the black sheep of the family because heâs not blood related. Thatâs why he says he was happy to marry the Boss. But itâs still seeing through this movie lens. He doesnât know what it really means to learn how to run a syndicate, and the Boss sees that. They scoff at him and canât take him seriously.
At the meeting the reason the Boss wants to crack the mask of Minseok is to feel out his real personality. In their mind, every lawyer is an actor who writes a script before trial and reads it for an audienceâthe jury. They wanted to see Minseok when not acting. When they see he has a spine, oh buddy, they wouldâve dropped Baekhyun for Minseok right then and there if it was their choice.
Oh, yeah, and theyâre totally straight up manipulating Baekhyun. Using that nickname as faux affection. Letting his family think Baekhyunâs honeypot skills were working, and Baekhyun that his regular charm was getting them to like him.Baekhyunâs mom mentioning they operate hotels, yes, interesting. Sheâs also in fantasyland if you can tell. Planning their wedding as if they were in love and not out of business arrangement. Sheâs not naive to the real purpose of the meeting, but her focus and excitement is in the wedding which is why everyoneâs just kind of letting her do all the planning.
The last thing Iâll say on this chapter is from part of my response to someone asking about the Bossâ goals. They want to gain customers, profit and influence. Expand their drug empire. Itâs a smart business move. Simple as that. If you want more detail, then they want symbiosis. Itâs a hassle having to work an underground drug ring when thereâs cops, let alone another gang out for their blood. Getting Baekhyunâs family to stop the violence against their group and help is the only smart move in their eyes.
Chapter 5:
Oofda strap in this one gets real dark. This is the chapter most of those warnings at the beginning were for so feel free to skip to the next chapters commentary if you want.
Yes the lapel grab was an intentional mirror of the one Baekhyun did at breakfast in chapter two. Just felt like it. No special reason.
An extreme disconnect from human lives? Hotels? Even the Boss thinks itâs wrong? What the fuck does Baekhyunâs family do? Congrats if youâve figured it out already. The major giveaway is in a bit though.
The whole, âI like things that are beautiful and strongâ thing is a reference to a video game character named Zevran whoâs a pansexual assassin and one of the loves of my life. Life-changing, that dialogue. Perfectly worded how my pansexuality felt. It meant a lot at the time so itâs stuck with me. When I edit this though Iâm gonna change it around a bit. Itâs too close to the actual game dialogue right now.
When the Boss retreats itâs because they felt breathless. Theyâre in denial about being afraid, but itâs cause theyâve never felt attraction like that before. Sincere fondness, and it went both ways. They actually felt something for Baekhyun. So they counteract it to the extreme and pretend to be emotionless and dismissive. To the point of being cruel when speaking about him to Kyungsoo as if he were a dog that needed to be locked in its kennel.
The throwing things is just Baekhyun being petty. He is angry, but not super mad. Enough to want to make the Boss hear his anger. Not enough to keep it up for long though.
More foreshadowing once Kyungsoo comes in. Thereâs been other stuff in between too. I like reading it and cackling in villainy because I know all the secrets.
Now letâs take a moment while reading the first part of this sex scene and just reflect on how Baekhyun is listening to everything happening.
âŚ
âŚ
âŚ
Alright letâs continue. We stan a man whoâs good at oral.
Okay sorry letâs actually continue. Iâm delaying the inevitable here.
This section was hard to write, and I know itâs hard to read too, but itâs important to the story to have it described. Not only for awareness, as I have experienced something very similar and didnât know what was wrong, or why I felt the way I did afterward, until much much later. But also because this is a major event that drastically changes how the Boss interacts with just about everyone, and their relationships. I know there are stories out there that use sexual violence as a plot device, and Iâve tried my best not to do that. I hope Iâve handled it with sensitivity and care. Being mindful of how certain things are worded and such. If you donât take anything else away from this I do want you to know this: this is consensual. It is not rape. The Boss is just as confused about what happened as Iâm sure some of you are. Theyâre deeply conflicted about it, but they push it down and ignore it at first. Thatâs the point. Shades of grey. Conflict. Revelation of characters. Okay, on with the rest of it.
The consent. The unreadable twinkle in his eye. If it wasnât obvious, Kyungsoo gets off on having control over the Boss. This possessiveness is turning into a poison. Hearing that they want him unequivocally ends up being the toes hanging off the edge of the cliff before the plummet.
âHe took what he wanted from you and you gave willingly.â Thatâs the line that explains why the Boss doesnât do anything when Kyungsoo starts going too far with the pain levels. Gripping their thighs too hard. He already gave them the tension release and satisfaction. They were reciprocating, they thought. They felt safe with Kyungsoo. Thatâs why their trysts worked. They trusted Kyungsoo to keep them safe at all times. They could let go and not think, but for some reason that night turns out to be different.
When Kyungsoo screws his eyes shut, itâs the point of no return. No matter what they did from then on it would end the same way. Heâs blocking out the expression on their face. Heâs trying his damnest to focus on finishing. Heâs lost control. As stated, some conflict is making him frustrated, and heâs taking it too far. He should have stopped, but something makes him keep going.
When they hold Kyungsoo closer, theyâre in denial. And theyâll stay in denial that anything wrong had happened for a while. Kyungsoo slows at this point and thereâs hope that heâll come back to himself. He moves them into a more comfortable position and removes his hands from their bruising grip. Kissing their neck and chest even. The pain when he thrusts inside is more layover from the previous actions than rough treatment in that moment. They could still call the night rough play. Letâs call this the good timeline.
I still have so many emotions when his hand clamps tighter on their mouth and he mutters, âalmost there.â The desperation and pain and guilt laced through his tone in my head breaks my heart a bit.
The Boss is not a fragile person. Theyâve always been able to exert some amount of control in their life. But when they canât stop Kyungsoo suddenly they feel helpless. The person they trusted is hurting them, and itâs not even malicious. They canât even think through all the pain.
After Kyungsoo finishes neither of them have time to process what happened before Baekhyun screams. By the emotions flickering on Kyungsooâs face though, itâs implied he knows he fucked up very, very badly and is experiencing clarity.
I really just added in the Baekhyun struggling with guards in his underwear thing for some levity in the transition between heavy things. He couldâve been dressed and just yelling from his doorway, sure, but thatâs no fun.
Baekhyun ends up confessing to planting multiple listening devices after convincing the Boss to get Kyungsoo to leave. But instead of their first thought being one of anger or worry over leaked secrets, the Boss thinks about his confession. Itâs the second time this chapter theyâve thought about Baekhyun in a positive light when there were more pressing matters.
âI know the difference between playing rough and abuse. I know what real pain sounds like. Trust me.â And, "Kyungsoo is much more suited for working for my family. You know that right?â are the two biggest clues about what Baekhyunâs family does. Have you guessed yet? Locked in your answer? Itâs prostitution and sex trafficking.
When Baekhyun says he was terrified hearing their screams itâs because heâs scarred from his step-dadâs "hotel business.â Saying that Kyungsoo is more suited for his familyâs work implies things about his character that the Boss refuses to question. However Baekhyun crying is also out of relief that he didnât find them more severely injured. With his family he was powerless to help the people they extorted and manipulated and took advantage of. He was able to do something here, though. He was able to scream and kick and call attention to it, even if he was a little late. He was able to help. Which is why he so readily agrees to get rid of the bugs to get the Boss to call Yixing.
Right before he leaves he contemplates trying to kiss them. His relief doesnât overpower his smarts though, and he thinks better of it. I think the Boss wouldâve called Yixing anyway, but they couldnât pass up the opportunity to also get something from Baekhyun.
Chapter 6:
I am soâŚemotionally exhausted from that last chapter, but thereâs not much left at this point so letâs finish.
Jongdae calling himself Greased Lightning. Just felt like referencing Grease that day I guess. Wanted a dumb code name no one actually uses.
Agh that should say white collar crime oops.
âIâd call you a genius, but Iâm in the room.â Lazy reference to Sherlock. Should take it out.
âOpening him up balls to brain.â Honestly thatâs just straight up out of Game of Thrones. I loved the line too much haha. Took inspiration from Petyr Baelish on the bit about killing an innocent man with the guilty one to throw off suspicion too.
I actually did math the figure out the dimensions of the tie grid cause Iâm like that I guess.
Originally the Boss was gonna reward him by just spending more time with him, but after theâŚincident, they decided to teach him a bit too. They realized he was smart and amicable to change.
âThey know, and they know when to bailâ is actually a reference to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood with something Olivier said up on the North wall.
The âthere are plenty worse than youâ realization hits a lot harder knowing his family does what they do. It still gets me reading that line. Heâs been through so much.
Pretty self explanatory on why the Boss doesnât give in to their desires about Baekhyun. Heâs too submissive still. They want someone to challenge them. Baekhyun gives them a glimpse at the possibility heâs capable, but it disappears just as fast.
As I was describing the city theyâre driving home from I was thinking of Chicago, but as someone whoâs visited many major cities it could be any of them really. In my head itâs Northern California though, mostly because 1) thereâs plenty of stories out there now about mafia in New York or Chicago or Las Vegas. 2) they have history with mafia in real life that moved up there from the L.A. areas. 3) lots of coastal cities up that way where Baekhyunâs family could be doing business. Letâs not even get into all the organized crime in San Francisco and San Jose. Of course for this fanfiction version it could be in South Korea who knows. I only know American law so thatâs how I think in terms of writing the Boss avoiding cops and what-not.
The fact the chapter didnât end with the ties being purchased shouldâve been the warning that something bad was gonna happen. This chapter was going too well, and thereâs still no major conflict. Enter gunmen.
Also side note, I always end up doing way more research than necessary on almost every story. Spent a few hours reading about and looking at videos of bulletproof cars being shot with different calibers and doing 180âs and stuff to more accurately write this chase. I just like doing research I suppose. Definitely love learning new things. Iâll go down several google deep dives on any given subject during a month. Itâs fun learning new things. The last one I did was a deep dive into fashion in the 1700âs which I think Iâve decided to use in the next requested story. They didnât ask for it to be historical, but now I want to write about elaborate dresses so there.
âIt was lucky.â It wasnât. I canât explain why yet though.
Chapter 7:
Y'all ever experienced stitches before? The scars are hard to get rid of. Okay thatâs my commentary on that.
Actually no. If Baekhyun had gone to a legitimate doctor they probably wouldâve used glue so the scar would be faint, but mafia doctor. Okay moving on.
There are handguns that hold more than seven rounds, but I couldnât pass up referencing âJohn Wick 2.â
âI donât know. Were you thinking, âholy shit holy shit, I just almost got shotâ?â is a reference to the movie âGet Smart.â Y'all seeing a pattern yet? haha. Mostly just wanted a joke there. It sprung to mind. Although I do have a few lists with lines or words that Iâve seen and written down to use later, then I try to work them in somehow. Itâs a dangerous method. Itâs breed whole chapters and stories before. But I have a horribly inconsistent memory. Gossamer is a good example. Saw that word used somewhere, went, âooh I like that wordâ, wrote it in the list, then used it in this chapter. While weâre on writing technique, I also really love using alliteration to emphasize certain sentences or pretty-up descriptions. It started because I was writing a character that talks in prose and poetry, and he does that all the time, but I liked how it sounded so I just kinda kept doing it. That character is Cole from Dragon Age by the way.
The rest of this is just setting up the mystery. Who in the car was the target? Who was shooting? Whoâs the mole? Is there even a mole, or is someone simply following them? Will Baekhyun keep pushing for answers? Will the Boss cause the trouble theyâre trying to avoid by retreating inward? Will any of them get killed? How could Baekhyunâs decision near the beginning possibly butterfly more?
Interesting, yes, hm. Time for more sinister cackling.

ok seeing the post you made Skittymon do I have to ask. Least favorite characters from Dm(Cause I've seen your Zexal tag .... Asking you to do both would take a month)
Goddamn it. I havenât talked about the holy trinity in a while. Alright... *pulls out the vodka to recall war flashbacks*
Letâs do this.
Ryou Bakura
can you believe it took me 20 years to give a shit about this character and it was only after Kazuki Takahashi retconned his backstory for DSOD and gave him actuall emotion? Like, talk about a fucking self-insert, empty shell of a character. Almost every fan Iâve seen of his always screamed about how he was misunderstood and under-loved by the show and the fans and how much of a deep and complicated character he was. Thoough they casually forget to mention the part where they only like him cuz of one thing that happened in volume seven of the manga and he never reaches that same usefulness ever again. This character is inconsitent, NOT THAT IMPORTANT, really boring tbh... like, people talk about how selfless he is for sacrificing himself to save his friends but like... have they seen ygo? All the characters do that? Jou dies like four times for his friends, get on his level lol
Or how heâs âforgottenâ in the show but lol, ther eare whole chapters and volumes he donât even fucking TALK in the manga. Shit, KT didnât give a shit about him either lol. And I am still 85% certain that fans only like him cuz he is a blank slate that can easily be used to tendership and be a fuck toy for Yami Bakura. I mean... this character bores me but the majority of the reason I hate him is how obnoxious his fucking fans are and how much they shoved him down my fucking throat on how âunlovedâ he was when lol i canât go anywhere without seeing this fucker. Donât make me think about him, thereâs nothing to him. âHe has an occult aestheticâ awesome. Cool. What does that have to do with him being important or even interesting?? Why should I focus on his interest when I have the spirit of a pharaoh as the main character and all these other ancient powers? He ainât unique. And worse, he has no personality. NOOOO N EEE.
God, Iâm getting a headache from remembering all the wank on him. Frankly, I forget about this character a lot but once in a while, I remember his fans and how absorbed they are about this character and how ridiculously annoying they are about him... which brings me to the next fucker.
Yami Bakura
HELLO MOST USELESS VILLAIN!
Oh my god... heâs so useless. Hes so forgettable. He honestly fails as a villain cuz NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT HIM. NONE OF THEM DO. THE ONLY CHARACTER HE IMPACTS IS HONDA. Yami forgets about him and defeats him quite easily for the first half of the show (which makes their third showdown all the more laughable tbh). Kaiba donât even give a fuck about him. The fact that the main villain of Battle City (Yami Malik) defeats without losing a SINGLE LIFEPOINT is quite amazing.
Like, I can ALMOST respect a villain working in the shadows and ultimately being the final boss and having be unsuspecting and shit. However, he fails at this. Bakura fails at this SO FUCKING HARD because he never actually wins and is constantly beaten by everyone. He only wins once and thatâs against the most minor of fucking minor characters. hE LEAVES NO IMPACT ON ANYONE.
Malik quickly forgets about him, moving on to Anzu to help get his sister to help him hide Rishid and Bakura is gone from his mind. Shit, Yami forgets about him every time he defeats him and is âsurprisedâ each time he comes back. Iâd say thats cool but he is easily defeated anyways. Pegasus and Kaiba and fucking Malik left impact on Yami and Yugi... Bakura leaves none. Heâs just there, like a fucking cockroach. I GUESS he leaves an impact on Ryou but Ryou is such a bland character that itâs hard to tell what the fucking impact is.
If Bakura was removed from the story, it wouldâve flowed better. Been smoother. Heâs just this random parasite that sucks depth from the story as well as wastes time. Not to mention he has one of the most irritating fucking fanbases ever. Like, Iâm glad they finally realize that he sucks and arenât screaming about how heâs the greatest villain.
Also, for being the âmain villainâ lol... he sure is in a coma a lot. and even left out an entire fucking season (doma arc) which coulda been used to develop him. another thing, he has no development or depth. i canât analyze this underdeveloped character who has nothing with anyone.
âbut wait, he has a sad backstoryâ
Oh yes. The last fucker.
TKB
I hat ethis boy.
This isnât even the fandomâs fault. Thatâs the ironic part.I hte him because of the story. I hate him because this entire time, the whole show was building up to the fight between the Nameless Pharaoh and a Priest who was entrapped in darkness.
IT WAS EVEN STATED IN CANON OK
http://reijiakabutt.tumblr.com/post/72859179115/i-feel-like-this-describes-my-feelings-to-season-5
AND THEN, THIS FUCKING CHARACTER OVERTKES THE WHOLE SEASON AND STORY. AND THE PLOT THAT WAS BUILT UP TAKES A BACKSEAT AS A BLURB.
Like... TKB shouldâve just been a catalyst and then gone away to make way for the real build-up. For the real story between Atem, Seto, and Aknadin. To the palace affair. to this actual fight.
like, whatâs laughable is how Bakura suddenly becomes this unbeatable force when heâs been this easily defeated fucker whose strategy never works. And like, it fails cuz he was never shown that way throughout the whole show so him suddenly becoming OP makes no goddamn sense and is a total asspull. And omg, his âtragicâ backstory is told through flashback of the guy who is COMMITTING the atrocity within his own tragic backstory. AND I FEEL MORE SORRY FOR AKNADIN, WHO WAS THE TRUE BADDIE OF THE SEASON.
CUZ HE HAD DEVELOPMENT. AN ARC. BONDS. I GAVE A SHIT.
TKB I DIDNâT. I donât know if itâs him who wants vengeance or if its him being controlled by Zorc or anything. this characters fails because I DONâT KNOW SHIT ABOUT HIM and heâs suddenly hailed as important and tragic when it all comes out of nowhere and does not impact him in the slightest.
Why the fuck is he called thief king?? i have no idea. shit, they were able to give me backstories for all these other characters and shit but not bakura... and like, i know KT was rushed with the egypt arc and it shows cuz this character who was never given focus was suddenly the main focus out of nowhere. that part where he dies and time is rewinded and he lives and other shit only to die again?
yea, ok. iâm fairly certain he was actually supposed to die there and thatâs when aknadin was supposed to be the main act but sadly, KT was sick and just kept TKB and rushed through.
TKB inflates the story, clogs it up and took the spotlight from the actual story and conflict and the worst part was itâs so obvious he was never meant to be that fucking important.
itâs not eventhe fans fault - the fans almost make him sound like an interesting character but for me, he took away from the plot that the show was building up to and was just... incredibly poorly written.
