Okay so I wasn't going to reply to this but I am still getting over being sick and this stuck to me. And for the record, it's okay that the OP feels this way and what I'm about to say doesn't mean they are wrong or bad or anything. Let's leave that person in peace. But as to why people don't like Valentine's day and some people even hate it, a gentle reminder:
There are a wide variety of reasons people can find certain holidays objectionable and one that tackles love specifically can be especially difficult for people who are struggling. A recent divorcee might wish to sit this day out because it can bring up how difficult being newly out of a relationship can be. This can be made even worse if the relationship was decades long and they aren't sure how to navigate the world of being single that looks nothing like when they were dating before. People who struggle socially who want relationships can find this to be a day that makes them feel a little more lonely. People who have lost a partner might feel their absence more acutely, even if that loss was years ago. People who have escaped abusive situations might have extremely mixed or hostile feelings about Valentines day (especially given how violent partners tend to become worse around holidays and this is extra true where the abused party is expected to behave a certain way). People who are in the closet might be feeling particularly confused or wounded right now as they feel worlds away from being able to accept or even find love.
The point of this isn't to drag the original poster, but it can be good to understand why sometimes hearts can be delightful for some and heavy for others. I know that some people can be well intentioned and say things like "think of the chocolate and candy" or "it's made up anyway" or "celebrate it with your friends instead", but those aren't really helpful. Love and its reminders can mean a lot of things to people and sometimes they bring up the bad emotions. Sometimes what people need isn't candy or hearts or even a pretend reason to see a friend. Sometimes they need to cry and a day that reminds them of loss or something they lack is what does it for them. Sometimes what they need is to know that they aren't the only one who feels like that when stores and displays and everything around them seems to point out what's making them feel sore.
It's okay to enjoy Valentine's Day. There are plenty of ways to do so if that's what you like. It's also okay to sit it out if you're sore or you're feeling a lot. It's alright if it's just another day in February.
dont understand people who "don't like" valentines day... I personally dgaf that its "made up" and "commercialist"... i love heart shaped things and i love everyone in my life. Its really simple

Every now and again, I'll come across some fanfiction in which an emotionally conflicted character will consult (usually kind of trashy) romance novels or in-universe fanfiction for advice or information. And it almost always snaps my suspension of disbelief.
If it's some terminally online teenage geek character or a hopeless romantic bookworm character? Sure! And, of course, there's great humor to be had in a sporty jock struggling with his queer awakening hesitantly picking up the bodice-ripper that his mum left on the coffee table. There ARE scenarios where "romance novels and fanfic as research" tracks just fine. I also understand the existence of the "I want to give this character I like the hobbies I like" / "I want to poke fun at this type / genre of fiction" aspect on the author's side.
But in any scenario with some normie adult man? Some straight, cisgender guy with normie dude hobbies and no evidence that he even CAN read, much less that he enjoys reading? Then it's a "not only would he not fucking do this, I honestly don't even believe he'd know this course of action exists" characterization situation.
Like, there are an astonishing number of people, especially dudes, who could not even name a romance novel to save their fucking life. No, not even a Jane Austen novel or "Twilight" or something. Their eyes glaze over that section of a bookstore. They are mentally filing that shit out to leave more room for sports or first-person-shooter video games or something. They have no respect for this type of fiction, if they're into reading fiction at all! They unconsciously or even explicitly believe that making eye contact with a bodice-ripper will permanently damage their masculinity, and they would flinch away from touching one like most people are scared of scorpions. They don't know aaaaanything about it! They have no concept of "the good stuff" versus "the bad stuff"; it's all soap operas and pornography to them, not a source of information.
And lots of people still don't even know that fanfiction is a thing. They go through life blissfully unaware of fandom wank. Or if they do know of fanfiction, it holds no appeal for them. Playing with other people's characters, or writing fictional stories about real people, is weirdo fanatic behavior to them! Not a source of information.
(And, to be clear, I'm not saying this tracks for all female characters. No, obviously, plenty of women don't like romance novels or fanfic. Plenty of women who do like those would never look at them as sources of information either, for a variety of very good reasons. It's just really funny when a story has the most normie bro guy to ever bro engage with this type of fiction.)
So, like, no, there are some characters whom I cannot be persuaded would ever read any of this stuff. (Speaking as a terminally online fanatic!) And honestly, there are plenty of more realistic and far funnier options for some normie dude character looking for love advice.
A) Friends and family. Or else colleagues and coworkers. It is almost always hilarious when a character goes up to someone else and says, "Hey, hypothetical scenario: [the stupidest shit you've heard in your life]. Any advice for that?" Also, you can have sincerely emotional conversations between friends! Or else good angst if the friend or family member reacts in a hostile manner or gives bad advice!
B) A magazine or chick flick movie. I can easily be persuaded that a normie dude would at least know these exist, or have one left at his house by an ex-girlfriend who made him watch it one time. Normie dudes are also more likely to consider these big publications more legitimate for advice than random romance novels or fanfic.
C) Some random advice column blog or non-fiction self-help book. Could be legitimately good advice for specific situations by a thoughtful professional, could be a money-grab scam written by a quack! How is some lovesick, emotionally dense guy supposed to tell by a book cover?
D) On that note: a relationship advice TikTok influencer or YouTuber or some random advice forum, probably Reddit or the like. The pros and the quacks are unhelpfully everywhere now! And possibly even have a live chat acting as their studio audience to make airing dirty laundry more toxic than ever. Potentially, you will find the kindest person alive with a terrible username willing to gently walk you through therapy, the online equivalent of meeting a figurative angel in a dive bar, but probably not. Bad advice is much more likely.
E) Doing no research, remaining uninformed, and blustering through the situation based on random pre-conceptions if anything. Honestly, I think some of these guys would just ignore the problem, even a potentially deadly problem, rather than touch a Harlequin romance novel, much less AO3 fanfiction. Sexism and internalized homophobia are a hell of a drug. It's just not happening.
I don't have a clean conclusion for this, it's just a funny thing that I've noticed every now and again. There ARE guys who like these types of fiction, of course! There ARE male characters who own an e-reader full of rom novels, sure, and don't give a shit what anyone else thinks. "This [normie male character who is both pretty offline and worries about appearing sufficiently masculine in a pretty toxic way] is reading a lot of romance novels and/or fanfiction as a form of research!" Yeah, no, that's really hard to pull off. If this guy is touching the internet at all, he's far more likely to make the most ridiculous Reddit post you've ever seen and then start belligerent fights in the comments.

OK, letâs say he comes back from a mission and it was really rough on him and he kind of relapsed into the winter soldier(slightly very very slightly) and Steve letâs reader know that a lot happened. Abby has went away with Natasha for a weekend together as reader was really busy w work. Bucky comes home and is so so on edge and is afraid he will hurt reader and isolates himself especially after he almost hurt reader when she crept up too silent behind him. so he hates himself rn. BUT THEN ABBY RUNS IN OUT OF NOWHERE AND HUGS HIM CUS SHE WAS WAITING FOR HIM TO COME BACK AND BOOM man either lets out the craziest sigh or low keys cries because he realizes he is okay. idk something like that if it makes sense ÂŻ\_(ă)_/
đ§č
Thank you, to my favorite anon!đ It took me forever to get to this one. This was a lot to go on. It could have gone really dark and angsty, but I'm trying to keep my Abby stories a little lighter. Hope you like it.đ€
Bucky was gone on what turned out to be an intense mission & word just came back that his team was returning. Steve and Bucky were heading the mission so you weren't too worried. You always like when they are sent out together because you knew they had each other's backs. ALWAYS
The quinjet touched down & the crew disembarked. You saw Bucky and Steve walking down the ramp, deep in conversation. As soon as Bucky made eye contact with you, you felt something was wrong. Then he veered away from you to another entry into the Tower and you knew something was very wrong.
You started to follow him, but Steve blocked your path. "What happened? What's wrong with Bucky??"
"Y/N, give him some time, this mission was rough on him."
"Is he hurt? Is he ok?"
"Physically he's fine..."
Impatiently, "then tell me what happened!"
"It's his story to tell. He needs a little bit of time to sort out the demons in his head. That's all."
"That's all?!?"
"It's what he wants."
******
You were able to give him 2 days to himself, until you caved in & tried calling Bucky just to hear his voice. For him to tell you he's ok but needs time to himself. You'd understand that. But for him to send your call to voicemail pissed you off. You left a message last night & today's you were leaving to pick up Abby, you tried again & you got his voicemail.
"Babe? Can you please call me back, text me...or something, so I know you're alive yet purposefully ignoring me? That would be great." You sigh, "Is this how we are going forward in this relationship? This will be the new communication norm?"
You gather your things to head out of the building, but up ahead you see Steve & Bucky. You hurry to catch up with them. You grab onto Bucky's arm & before you can even say his name, his hand is on your sternum, and you're shoved against the wall. A startled yelp escapes & he releases you immediately. "Fuck!" His hands drop to your arms, "Are you ok? Did I hurt you?" Steve pulls Bucky back.
You reach for his hands, "I'm fine. You startled me." You look up at him and he looks so tired. You go to hug him but he pulls away from you. "Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on, Buck?" You turn to Steve, "Would you do me a big favor and pick-up Abby from pre-school, please?"
"Yea, sure " He shoots Bucky a worried glance before he leaves.
*****
Once you're back at Bucky's residence, "Are you ready to tell me what happened?" You flop yourself down on his couch.
"I can't... I can't let those things...touch you. You don't need to know about HYDRA."
"Bucky, I know about HYDRA. I work here! Nick Fury is my boss."
"You don't need to know about the Winter Soldier. You don't need to know about me back then." Bucky stops pacing & drops down into his chair.
"You don't think I've done my research before dating you? Before I let you be around my daughter? What you did back then was not your fault. You weren't given a choice. HYDRA had control of you. Babe, you are not the same person."
"I'm still capable..."
You move to sit at the foot of his chair, "No! Stop it."
"Doll, I could have killed you back there!"
"You didn't. You wouldn't. You're James Barnes, not the Winter Soldier!" You squeeze his hands. "Talk to me, Bucky. Let me share your burden. We're in this life together. Please tell me what happened."
With a deep sigh, "We went to hit an active HYDRA base camp." You nod. "Doll, there were cribs there. In the lab, there were children's bed and restraints." You softly gasp, squeezing his hands tighter. "We couldn't locate any of the children, but now I know they're out there somewhere."
"Oh, Bucky." Tears prickling your eyes, "I'm so sorry."
"I killed them all. Whoever was there." You kneel up to wrap your arms around him. It took a while for him to return your hug, but you didn't let go. He gives in and pulls you tightly to him.
"You think I wouldn't do the same if I could? Wouldn't anyone do the same? The only difference is that we don't have your skill set." Pulling away, cradling his face between your palms to get him to look at you, "Just because you have the skills, does not make you the Winter Soldier." You give him a soft kiss. "The job you took on isn't an easy one, but you're making the world a safer place. For people like me and Abby."
"I saw the cribs and beds and I...I thought of Abigail. And...I snapped." You nod.
"I understand how that could happen." Bucky pulls you onto his lap & he holds you for a long time in silence. You offered him comfort any way you could. You understand now why he was so affected by this mission. "You need to talk to me and tell me what's going on. You can't shut me out, Buck. I was so worried. If the situation was flipped, how would you handle me shutting down on you?"
"Not well." He gives you a slight smile.
Nodding, "exactly." You lean back against him as he wraps you in his arms.
"I'm sorry."
*******
Steve picks up Abby and visits with Ms Grace before returning to the Tower, hoping you and Bucky ironed out your differences. He texts you both letting you know he's got Abs in the common room watching TV.
"You knows what, Uncle Steve?"
"No, what Abs."
"Chloe and Mia says a new Lilo & Stitch movies coming outs."
"Oh, yea? Wow."
Abby stands up on the couch next to Steve and slings her arm across his shoulders. "Rights?? I so 'cited! You know what, Uncle Steve?"
"No, what Abs?"
"You wants to take me to the Lilo & Stitch movies?"
"Won't your Mama and Bucky take you to see it? Did they say no?" Steve has to ask. He's not going to be caught up in one of Abby's tricks and get in trouble with you.
"Mama gonna takes me, but you can takes me," holding up two fingers, "two time." She gives Steve a sweet smile.
"Abigail."
She cackles. "What if I likes it so much and wants to sees it again? Like Wicked?"
Steve rolls his eyes, "Fine. If you like it so much, I'll take you to watch it again."
Abby squashes her cheek against Steve's while strangling him around the neck, "Oh, tank you! Yous the best Uncle in all the worlds!" She sees Bucky in the doorway and Uncle Steve is quickly forgotten. "Papa! You homes!!" She bounces off the couch and runs to Bucky with arms spread wide.
Bucky steps back, away from your incoming toddler, banging into you. "It's ok, Bucky."
Abby doesn't slow down, so Bucky is forced to catch her and lift her into his arms. "I missed-ed you so much!" Abby peppers his face with kisses. She pulls away & squishes his face between her palms, "You missed-ed me, too?" A happy hopeful smile on her face.
Bucky nods, answering quietly, "Yea, baby. I missed-ed you, too," dropping a kiss on her nose which makes her do a happy wiggle.

it ain't their fault they've been fucking lied from cradle to grave. Education, news, entertainment, all pointing them towards "these are the guys who make my life better and these are the guys that hate me and don't want me to be able to afford to fix my truck and will give my job to someone else who will do it worse because they don't know that Bob always tries to fix his own roof first before he calls somebody so they gotta work around that..."
Point is, everyone has reasons why they believe what they do, and a lot of them are good, honest people who care about their neighbors and the world around them but have been LIED TO about what would be best for them and their neighbors and the world because where the hell are they gonna learn that when their trusted elected officials said "I think it's time we take America back and focus on what truly matters" they meant "I'm going to kick out the nice old lady Maria and her hard-working sons José and Roberto who live next door, not just the fictional people I've told you to fear"
Who would tell them straight? The fear-mongering news? The sunny depictions of a post-election world they get from Facebook? The opposition, whose descriptions of the playbook, while entire, must seem so outlandish in their cruelty as to be *surely* hyperbolic from the perspective of someone who expects the government to act sane?
I plead to you, reader. for a better world, do not punish what you want to see. If you see someone doubting, encourage it, do not disparage them. Help them lean into that confusion, that dissonance. Give them the gentlest examples you can think of where things clearly won't match up and let them uncover deeper ones. It HURTS, like nothing fucking else, for your reality to crumble around you. I understand not having space to bear witness to it, give yourself grace, but please don't bite them before you go. Just go, and breathe.
This is less coherent than I would like, but thank you, dear reader.
ok so these new tariffs are likely going to be primarily affecting red states. i want yâall to ignore the urge to respond by saying the people in those red states deserve it because of the political representation we have. not because some of us are progressives but because this is an opportunity. if conservatives from these states start complaining about higher prices and financial strain, do not respond with âwell you voted for this!â this is your opportunity to pull them to the center. say âwow that is really awful. iâm sure this isnât what you wanted when you voted last year. you deserve representatives that will have your best interests at heart, you should let them know how upset you are! you deserve to be heard!â
because listen to me. republican politicians donât give a shit about what progressives in red states have to say. they arenât gonna change their voting trends for us. but if a bunch of small town conservatives start to get restless and angry with their politicians, if they lose support from their most important demographics, that has a shot at changing things. so swallow your pride and disgust and have a conversation with that republican truck driver instead of taking the pot shot thatâll get you 10 minutes of dopamine. do the hard work.

Breaking down "Even the Iron Still Fears the Rot" (almost) shot by shot!
The fan-animatic can be viewed here!
youtube
HEADS UP: This is a fan-made content. I am a fan. I just love Castlevania/animation a lot and I love storyboarding nuances and making people cry over character dynamics. Also apologises for any grammatical/spelling mistakes!
I wasn't planning to do another breakdown of my own work, simply due to imposter syndrome but I genuinely put so much love and care into this animatic! I want to talk about it! Also, people have been really open to hearing about my inspiration and notes, and why I take the directions I do for my work, even if it's fan-made, so here we go!
(Also the reciprocation of my animatics has been so kind and uplifting, and I'm really glad that there's a lot of love for them as much as I love doing them! I learn and grow with every single board I make, it's been really fun! I hope I get to shine this much passion in the future in actual work!)
Since this is also an adaptation of a fan one-shot by Aquila, (which you can read here!) I knew I wanted to evoke what they had written and interject some of my own nuances/personal readings to their story to elevate what they had! In turn, kind of created this monster (positive) of a fan creation haha. There are some changes/rearranging the placement of aspects of the one-shot to strengthen the existing tension going on!
With this out the way, let's begin!
(heads up, for any shots I completely skip over, it is because I'm reaching image limits here)
I wanted to evoke that strong halo light you see in a lot of media. Often than not, this visual is used to depict the character as a divine force of nature and/or when a character is bobbing in and out of death. It can also be a very very terrifying image, as, for example, s02e8, Mizrak is literally all dark with a brightly lit background. It is scary- BUT people will say hot because it's Mizrak but hey, look, all I can say is I fully understand haha. It all depends on your intentionality and what follows before and after to give context to your scene!
Mizrak is dead. Well, undead now. Olrox is the so-called angel giving him life and love and this halo of light gets repeated a few times!
By the end, not only do their literal positions switch, but their roles shift too so I hoped to convey that visually by also giving Mizrak that halo glow for the second last shot. At the start, Olrox consumes Mizrakâs love, and then it ends with Mizrak consuming Olroxâs love. Guh I love blood themes in vamprisim.
This shot honestly took me a bit to do, since I was going a lot cleaner than usual, the expression for Mizrak was super important for me to get right. I wanted him to look like he was about to die- yet still have an unwavering amount of life in him. (Also I hadn't warmed up drawing in this cleaned-up style so it definitely was me messing around). It was important for me for this to feel like a POV shot to contrast the first scene so we can get inside the mind of Olrox!
This too is where I only have sound effects since I can't have voice so I limit my SFX to the only most vital things to elevate things I personally find better elevate the scene with audio. It only happens TWICE. The heartbeat. His wrist is shown and from context clues from not only S01 of Nocturne with Tera's turning, but a whole bunch of other vampire media- the wrist is a place where the dead accept their new life of immortality!
Also, the pulse effect was definitely inspired by the transformation of Sekmet! I'm not sure personally if this went to a further stage I'd want to keep this since I'd personally want something more unique for vampire turning, more specifically for Olrox, HOWEVER, I think it still does a good job conveying the supernatural pull for the time being!
Wow who saw this coming HAHA
Immediately when I saw the line where Olrox said he went to straddle him immediately, my mind went to go and try to parallel this scene again! I don't have much to say about this shot rather than the feet are purposefully cut out for animation convenience's sake HAHA.
Jumpscare for sudden Olrox character layout (even though he's really off model and sketchy here HAHA)
I was again, wanting to depict Olrox BATHED in light and since this animatic is purely in greyscale (with accents of colour), I could really push for dramatic lighting when it called for it! This is also why some of the scenes just do not have backgrounds at all. I wanted to make some of the scenes as "heavenly" as possible and for Mizrak to be embraced by the light because Olrox is giving him a new a life.
If this were to ever be animated (I won't be since it would take too much of my time, but it's still a good thing to note when boarding anything... maybe I'll do cleaned screenshots since those are a breeze, or animate ONE scene from this animatic... we'll see what I have time for. I unfortunately don't have proper time to try and figure out the layout of s02e8 bgs and paint them. I did consider quickly doing a 3d mock-up but no haha), the light in the background can probably be lit with candles since it was already pre-established in s02e8! Also, the windows can reflect light into the room so there's that too since Mizrak was backlit in that episode too!
Fun fact, this entire scene was the first thing I ever thought up and why I started even making it. I thought about how cool of a visual it would be to have Mizrak's eye in the reflection.
I wanted to imbue the fact that Mizrak does not fear Olrox holding a blade, hell, he's not even looking at the blade. He's looking at Olrox. What is described as a relic from a terrifying past, Mizrak is not scared. Mizrak is not scared of Olrox.
This is where the heartbeat occurs AGAIN. This is mostly to signal to the audience what Olrox actually has planned. He's not feeding Mizrak from his wrist but from his actual chest, especially with how gently Olrox runs his hands over it.
I debated a lot on where the initial cut should go. The heart, for sentimentality, under the breast in the same way Christ had been pierced, etc etc- however I landed on just dead set in the middle so it could form a cross that would grow bigger and bigger as the animatic went on. (Fun fact, the blob of blood turns into a little heart as he squeezes his chest)
I wanted to put some weight to the repressed catholic guilt, so I thought a cool visual way to showcase that Mizrak has only known how to love is via worshipping God which has consumed his entire being and self. God has given him faith, a companion in the hardest of times when the world has abandoned him.
Now, once again, his world has abandoned him. The Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God is gone. In the face of death and fearing the devil will be waiting. Olrox has given him love, and he will be a companion in the hardest of times. He will not abandon Mizrak.
This aspect of the cross in the animatic gets expanded upon as time goes on. Both literally as the cross literally turns into a pool of blood more closely to the symbol Mizrak bares, but also it slowly expands upon Mizrak feeding off Olrox's love! I'll add some more of my personal notes when we get there!
Also by far one of my favourite scenes I've drawn. It's still rough but it decidedly made me go a lot cleaner with the rest of the storyboard!
This is supposed to be suddenly jarring because it cuts midway through Olrox in a midshot to a close-up of a hand! We need to see him actively halt Olrox for just a moment, but also to show that even when it's sudden- its not hostile, it's gentle.
This shot does a couple of things!
It showcases how gently Mizrak is reaching out to Olrox
It helps to continually establish Mizrak submission to vampirism. He is constantly placed on the bottom from the composition, or we as an audience, are always looking down at Mizrak! Seeing parts of Olrox here really cements this fact as Olrox towers over him to the point we don't even see him fully!
It helps to lead into the Fallen Angel reference!
This shot makes me sob because it is so gentle. Despite being placed constantly much higher in the composition in the animatic, therefore making him the most powerful in this dynamic- in no way Olrox is intentionally made out to be an intimidating figure. He is comfort. He is a companion. He will not abandon Mizrak. The act of turning Mizrak might be read as selfish. It may be read as cheating the natural cycle of life, it may be everything wrong and doomed as your mind makes it to be, however, it is done out of love. Morals, whether good or bad, no longer matters because Olrox is in love. Love has such a strong chokehold on this series, so I'm shoving as much love into these characters as I can. Both literally make these characters so sickly desiring love that it will be their doom and saving grace, but also me as an artist deeply putting love and thought into this board because care a lot about how to convey these complex emotions! Sure it is quite easy to churn out boards without care, but without putting care into your boards, your characters and stories lack life (in my personal opinion).
Immediately, this animatic shook me and told me to put in a reference to The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabnel!
Also, how does one portray the soul? EYES. Eyes are the window to the soul. Mizrakâs eyes are also considerably the most important/crucial part of his design. His eyes in both seasons âglow in the darkâ due to the highlights in his eyes. Mizrak is considerably really emotive too and that was important to me to emphasize. I wanted to capture his essence, his soul if you will, into this shot.
This is also why this shot is done really prettily if you will.
The reflection of Olrox's eye in Mizrak's is important here! Olrox is here to act to comfort Mizrak. Even when Olrox is not on the screen with us, he is majorly present here. He will not abandon Mizrak. Also, since it is coupled with this line, people can choose to infer what they wish with Olrox! It can symbolize Olrox does have a soul, it can symbolize how Olrox and Mizrak are now intertwined together, it can symbolize Mizrak reciprocating Olrox's love. The list can go on! I give that room for open interpretation (same as the rest of the animatic, the only reason I'm going through, breaking down almost shot by shot is that I deeply care about this sort of thing, and I know other people do too!)
This shot, is deceptively simple but it's here to actually initiate a bunch of scenes I wanted to happen after this!
Firstly, I needed a very nonchalant but easy way for Olrox to let go of Mizrak's hand without needing to overcomplicate. I needed something that gave it just enough importance for the hand kiss BUT not too much where it is the sole focus on the shot.
Secondly, I needed a way for Olrox to lean down to Mizrak and initiate him being way closer to him.
Thirdly, it acts to parallel another shot that happens with Mizrak where instead of going diagonally down, he goes diagonally up!
This is one of the points where I visually slightly deviate from the one-shot! I really REALLY wanted to emphasize Olrox's dialogue here so I chopped up and elongated the scene to make it that much more intense and tender. Which is why we get the next two close up shots!
Look it was very VERY important to me to have Olrox cup Mizrak's face and intentionally cut off his eyes. The important part I wanted to focus on solely was his hand and Mizrak looking up because genuinely, Mizrak's eyes are 'distracting' and it would remove the focus on the gesture! Also I am saving Mizrak's eyes for the next shot haha
After this shot too, you may notice the blood from his neck disappears for the rest of the animatic. This is because, after this, it began to take too much of a visual focus away from the blood on Olrox's chest since it is bright red against greys in the shot. We can chalk it up to Olrox wiping the blood off when he goes to cup him.
"The most beautiful soul a vampire can posses."
It was so important to me that we get a BEAUTIFUL shot of Mizrak. I needed the audience to see his entireeee face close up, unobscured by anything. Olrox is holding a beautiful soul in his hands. He's holding Mizrak. Actually makes me sob.
This shot by the way has been repeated 3 times with slight variations by this point. Yes, this is a very pretty shot so how could I not help but repeat it? HOWEVER, I was trying to make a reference to how Mizrak has said Olrox's name only 3 times in the show with a variation of what was said around it. After that, Olrox calls him my love, basically unlocking a new stage in their relationship.
So here, three times when he looks at Olrox, he's mentally calling out his name. After this, Olrox brings him to a new stage in the relationship.
Also in Catholicism, a lot of things are in 3s. One of the major ones is that three times, Christ fell over carrying the cross. On the third hour of that day, he died and on the third day, he was resurrected from the dead. The three sacraments that welcome someone into the Kingdom of God are Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation as they all build off one another! I could go on both those are the main points AND I feel you might get the gist now!
It was very important to me that when Olrox makes this promise, we HAVE to see his full face. This is why it's a close-up.
It lets for no shadow of a doubt that Olrox means what he says here. He's looking AT Mizrak. He's telling the truth to him.
This is a parallel to a much earlier shot of Olrox! He moves closer to Mizrak by going from top right to bottom left, while Mizrak moves closer to Olrox by going from bottom left to top right! You also both see them exit the screen too!
In this shot, we bring back that halo vibe but also this is a reference to S01E04 and S02E08! The curtain! It is BOTH their first-ever shots to establish a new scene, so I wanted to go âHey this is establishing a new scene- a new life for Mizrak and Olrox.â
The camera is super purposefully cut just below the eyes. You can see them open then closed, but we will never ever get to see the look he had in his eyes, the single decision in his brain that let him indulge. Thatâs only for Olrox, and only Olrox will know.
From here on out, A LOT of the shots of Mizrak get segmented/have his face hidden for that reason too (except for one shot, also done intentionally).
When Mizrak actually closes his lips around the blood- itâs on the growling sound in the song. Mizrak has turned into the animal that heâs been calling vampires. In this new life, he is now given the choice to be freed from the man-made shackles of shame and guilt. To be untamed and unrestricted. A wild animal so to speak!
Honestly, I spent a lot of my time here (besides the pretty Olrox frames) because I was super particular about how I wanted to portray Mizrak giving into sucking the blood. The way he accepts vampirism is vital because it sets the tone and mood for how the rest of the board feel since his face gets hidden and you now have to infer from when you saw his face last.
If you have seen my analyses or my work before, you will know how much I enjoy having a frame within a frame. I loveeee my boxes! They're in the box! TOGETHER! THE CENTER TOO! There are no real divisions with the exception of Olrox's head which is important because it's not Mizrak we're focused on at this point in time, it's Olrox~
This is because the one-shot, even in third person, is mostly through Olrox's perspective!
Also, the camera is moving around in this shot, and the following subsequent shots! It hopefully gives off the "hand-held" feel, which often is associated with feeling as if you're right there in the moment with them.
Why pillows?
This is me shaking you to say how the blood-drinking is an allusion for sex if that wasn't already obvious enough. So showing pillows coupled with Olrox groaning really goes "Yes they are technically doing it."
Originally this shot (and the previous shot) was supposed to be way more pulled out, but I was saving it for the very last shot of the animatic so I went to pillows with the tinest hint of their body in the frame to make it seem super scandalous. Like what on earth could they be doing for me to cut them mostly out of the frame? Also also, the pillow was supposed to have an embroidery of a painting from 1790s or earlier BUT, for the life of me, I could not decide what I wanted and I did not want to keep reusing the same references I have had in past work. I didn't want to fuss about it for too long since its more of an easter egg rather than adding to the story. The main point is pillow = fucking HAHA.
Side tangent, you can get away with SO MUCH by having blood drinking be an allusion to sex. Like obviously when you have an age rating you must abide by, you must be creative with how you go about mature topics (my age rating is YouTube hahaha)! Not only is blood drinking in vampirism just inherently queer-coded, but the intimacy of it can convey so much more if it was just a regular ol' sex scene! I actually deeply enjoy conveying nsfw topics into art because you can discuss character dynamics at a much more vulnerable, raw state that literally bares them to just their essence and their current desires/needs. However I am getting off-topic, let's get back to it!
This shot was actually heavily inspired by the statue Adoration by Stephen Sinding!
While there are a lot of differences now simply because Mizrak is at Olrox's chest, I still hope that the vibe of that statue is still imbued. It also gives the sense of not only Olrox adoring Mizrak in this very moment, but Mizrak is too despite not seeing his face. Again quite intentional because it's only for Olrox to see.
Also, a lot of people have been telling me how Olrox is breastfeeding him, and in technicality, they're not wrong, he's feeding blood, from his chest. It is the funniest thing ever LOL
This shot was important to really focus in on his throat and how, much like in the one-shot, Mizrak is literally not taking breaths and is just continually consuming Olrox.
Wet sounds fill the room as his throat bobs with each steady gulp...He doesnât stop, doesnât take a moment to gasp for breath.
I also just wanted to make this scene feel very slow in order to contrast with a much more passion-filled desire that consumes Mizrak in this animatic! Also hopefully the descent of blood and the descent of the camera helps to strengthen the idea of Mizrak descending into vampirism!
It felt really cheesy to have this close-up shot of his eye HOWEVER at the time, I thought this was by far the clearest way to convey the immediate switch from gentle devotion to devouring devotion and how suddenly rapid it is. In my brain, the stylization for his eyes open would be textured and pulse in the same way Olrox's wrist did, which is why it's just outlined. I'm once again not 100% set on the pulse look and it probably needs some iterations if I ever came back to it again.
Also, the green hearts in his eyes only come through when he's actively consuming blood from his chest! The heart motif comes back later when Mizrak ends up throwing up the blood!
Here's the cross again, except it is growing bigger. This was very important to me that you see how "gentle" the blood-sucking is at first. A gentle devotion despite the "terrifying" shadow of Mizrak. Also, super an excuse to have kiss marks in my animatic, I love painting them in my art because it can say a lot with placement and how aggressively smudged they are!
Also, I thought it would be SO FUN to have Mizrak's turned self literally have his eyes overlay where Olrox's eyes are. It conveys how Mizrak and Olrox are now switching roles in this animatic! For the first half of this animatic, Olrox has been placed pretty high up in the shot composition, or where the camera looks up to put him in a high place of power! It makes him appear way more etheral and otherworldly, while Mizrak was placed lower in the composition, always looking up at him! Which I'm hoping invokes religious imagery of a God and his worshipper/follower!
When Mizrak's transformation is set, the dynamic switches up. For the rest of the animatic, Mizrak is now placed at a more supernatural/otherwordly position, while Olrox is just there passively, letting Mizrak BE in this position. He does not fight it, he embraces it, embraces how Mizrak reciprocates his love, his desire, and all his messy complications, much like how earlier in the animatic, Mizrak embraces vampirism.
Also if you slow it down enough you can see how I accidentally left my perspective grids in it HAHA, but it goes by fast enough it doesn't really matter! (I guess it's also kind of indicative of my natural style when it comes to digital painting too, I genuinely like having my sketch still peek through into the final painting!)
Wow even more shots to cement the new role switch AND how much much of the passionate need to consume is controlling his urges! Free to consume at his leisure, he is no longer bound by human nature (for now)!
This shot and his leg shot help to really strip Mizrak of his humanity. Faces in a shot really help to connect people to the characters because we see the emote, we see them breathe, we see them live. Especially for a character like Mizrak? He's super expressive face-wise and I'm purposefully not showing you the defining features of Mizrak. Here I am basically going "Mizrak is no longer human."
This is why in horror/thrillers with antagonist characters, we don't see their faces much and are saved for only key moments (usually, again your intentionality matters). It doesn't allow us to connect with the character on a much more human level. Think of Count Orlok from Nosferatu (2024). Purposefully a lot of his character is shrouded in darkness, focusing on his hands and other aspects, never his face, and even then it is really hard to make out because so much of him is obscured. It makes him that much of an imposing intimidating character! Otherworldly and something that we cannot fully understand.
This is a flipped version of Mizrak's close-up eye shot much earlier when he asked if his soul would remain. Again to hark on how Mizrak and Olrox are switching roles in this animatic! Olrox is looking at Mizrak's soul as we speak.
Despite us not seeing Mizrak's face, we as an audience noticing how unhuman Mizrak has suddenly become, Olrox looks quite gently at him and that was important to convey!
Woo! Lot's of horizontal lines here! While the camera is moving towards the left, Mizrak is moving right!
Originally this shot was going to have Mizrak's teeth sinking into Olrox like a very cool Olrox throwing his head back and Mizrak's fang reveal HOWEVER, I want to leave the "carnage" and bloodshed of the feeding out of the frame and only have it show up in very specific moments so I can have those moments actually have their proper impacts. I did not want to show any part of the front of his face at all since it would dampen the effect later on, so I opted for this instead. The legs give a sense of "something is happening but we don't know what, but it's to a point where Mizrak's entire body is moving oh jeez." Won't lie, this looks very sexual and I'm purposefully toying with that line again because blood drinking is an allusion to sex.
Also, I'm continuing the concept of having aspects of Mizrak's face only for Olrox's eyes. What does he look like when he's actively consuming him with such passion? Idk, Olrox you tell me.
This is everything I was building up for when I introduced the small crosses! The physical manifestation of how Mizrak reciprocates.
My thought process here was that Mizrak only knows how to love by fully devoting himself because that's all he's done for God. So he applies it here. He is reciprocating love, but it is FULL ON. It is intense. It is all-consuming.
The face once again is obscured for all the reasons I have mentioned before, but also it REALLY helps to really hard cut to Mizrak choking on the blood after because before it seemed like he was doing just fine. He is literally looking DOWN at Olrox, he takes up A LOT of the screen with just his back and head. He literally gets pulled into full focus while Olrox is blurred in the background. He appears like he is in control of the situation, however it could not be further from the truth.
Also, I was mostly inspired by the insane amount of bible verses talking about blood, so I'll drop some of those here!
John 6:53-56Â ESV
So Jesus said to them, âTruly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
Ezekiel 16:6Â ESVÂ
âAnd when I passed by you and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you in your blood, âLive!â I said to you in your blood, âLive!â
Matthew 26:28Â ESV
"For this is my [Christ's] blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
Absolute contrast to most of the other shots, not only because I decided to add way more character acting here, but it's because we actually see his FULL face. It's intentional because Mizrak realizes himself now so we need to see him have this reaction. I wanted to show that he is still a person. He still has a soul. He may not be human, but he does have a mind that can think and a heart that can love. He still retains human qualities.
He's choking on all the blood (a physical manifestation of love) and his body is rejecting it. He's not used to consuming this amount of love and he's not used to being self-indulgent. It's deeply overwhelming.
I wanted to say I LOVED drawing blood it is SO FUN, planning the camera movement, and how Mizrak coughs at specific moments was sooo fun. I wanted this to be MESSY AND INTENSE. I wanted the audience to feel the weight of Mizrak's sudden distraught. I wanted to throw him around and to really hark on this line from the one-shot.
What has he done? What has been done to him? What has he become?
It helps to deeply contrast with how still and gentle the next scene is!
Yes, that is right, Olrox's pupils are DILATED :)
Coupled with the fact that the blood splatters are hearts! They're outlined in cyan! Olrox has a massive heart-shaped blood splatter on his cheek while Mizrak has a few heart-shaped splatters BUT there are gaps in his bloodied mouth that create heart shapes as if Mizrak spewed out those hearts!
Firstly this is because Mizrak literally eats at his chest where the heart is. Secondly, I'm again pushing for Mizrak to consume and throw up his love due to how overwhelming it is. Not only is Olrox's love for him literally beyond his imagination, but Mizrak is trying to love back in with that same amount of passion and utter devotion. A lot is happening for this new-born vampire that is pushing and pulling at him. His emotional state is so overwhelming that it is manifested in physical form.
The green reflections are shown to visually communicate Olrox anchoring Mizrak back, as, throughout the animatic, it is one of the things that ease or calm him down. I could not portray it through voice BUT I can portray it via visual (guys walk with me here, imagine the insane combo of audio and visual, it would be so tasty). The sole reason why I did not have hearts in his eyes here is simply because I reserved the heart motif for when he's actively drinking out of Olrox's chest (so he's literally consuming his love) or when he's spitting out the blood!
Also, the reason why I cut to his eyes rather than pan to them is purely because I wanted the violence of his mouth to be suddenly jarring to the gentleness in his eyes. I didn't want the slow reveal, I wanted the "OMG the blood- aw Mizrak...."
"Lulled into a sense of hazy compliance by Olroxâs voice, the former monk carefully lowers himself and continues though not for long."
This final shot was soooo important to me to include. The âmusty inn roomâ was mentioned much earlier during Mizrakâs transformation but there was a poeticism by having what is considerably the blossoming moment of their complicated relationship be the final shot. With the lyrics also ending with "Take me back to Eden" how could I not? Clearly, both the rooms between s01e4 and s02e8 are parallel to each other. The only difference is that s02e8 has the room be both red AND GREEN, while s01e4 is just earthy/green. Olrox has taken them both back to their earthly paradise. This is their Garden of Eden.
Woo ok and we're done! Also yes I do thumbnails for these, it's half the reason why I'm fast (this entire animatic, cleaned and everything, was done in 3 days good lord. Is that fast? I can't tell) I make the barest of bones chicken scratch of sketches to get a feel of pace/vibe, then I do my roughs/cleans and add/take away shots necessary for the story that needs to be told. I normally would not let this see the light of day because these are AWFUL BUT, this post is also half a documentation of my personal process so I'm going to close my eyes and share this HAHA
If you got this far, thank you for reading me geek out about this! I find a lot of joy in the visual storytelling medium. As much as I do enjoy animating, (wow could you guys tell in the name?) I have a deep love and passion for storyboarding personally and I get sit back, and enjoy crafting the entire picture! I still have a long way to go but I'm having fun and I'm pursuing my passions of storytelling!
I desperately want to make more animatics, dealing with different tones, pace etc, but I genuinely have to go prioritize other things for now that will help me build these skills hahaha. I say this but who knows, seeing my current track record haha, look I can do both. I follow wherever my creativity takes me. I may have missed a few things but I have to wrap this up now!
Thank you again! The final takeaway, go watch Castlevania again and go be inspired by animation <33333
#castlevania nocturne#artists on tumblr#mystery talks#i love storyboarding to death it brings me much joy#hopefully ill learn how to apply this to action scenes#all ppl on yt scare me in a positive way they're so nice#olrox/mizrak#castlevania spoilers#olrox#mizrak

Canada: The Crudest Crude Oil
So, Canada has some shitty oil.
I don't know what Canada oil ate, but it might need a juice cleanse or something.
Trump is putting a 10% tariff on this shit.
This is called heavy sour crude oil. Because not all crude oil is the same. It can be light. It can be sweet. It can be heavy. It can be sour. Light and sweet is the easiest to refine. Heavy and sour (the Canada poop) is the most difficult.
But the US specializes in refining the shittiest crude. That's why we import so much from Canada. We have developed the best technologies to turn this shitty tar sand oil into something useful. We buy it cheap from Canada, make it useful (gas, kerosene, plastics, asphalt, etc), and then resell it.
This ends up being about a $700 billion business that generates about $175 billion in tax revenue.
To make things more interesting, the US has a lot of its own oil. Which is why Trump loves to say "drill, baby, drill." But our oil is light and sweet. It's the good stuff. Easy to refine.
That's good... right?
Not so fast!
Since no other countries are very good at processing the shit oil, we send our good stuff to Europe. They can easily refine it and we make a lot of money selling it to them.
Here's the rub...
The US isn't really set up to refine the good shit. Most of our refinery infrastructure is meant to process the Canada poop. So even though we technically have plenty of our own oil, we don't really have a lot of places to process it.
So I guess we would have to send it to Europe and buy it back.
Or we would have to build new refineries.
Or we would have to get shit oil from other places.
And those places?
Russia and Venezuela.
I have no idea if Trump understands any of this. Or if he thinks all oil is the same. But I feel like fucking with a $700 billion industry is bad for the economy.
I really don't understand why this is happening. I don't know if Trump is going rogue and doing this on his own. Or if Putin set this up so we will buy oil from Russia. Or if there is some other special interest group that wants to torpedo our refinery economy.
None of this makes a lot of sense to me and I don't see many people talking about this aspect of the tariff problem. I don't think oil quality is well known to the general public and maybe Trump's puppeteers are counting on that ignorance to do some sinister shit.
In any case, I imagine gas prices are going up. I'm sure the MAGA crowd, famous for being angry at gas prices, will finally see the light and turn on Trump.
I'm just kidding.
They will find some way to say it is a good thing and keep kicking themselves in the nuts.

My God, your writings are wonderful, the way you express yourself in letters should be rewarded with an award
I'm so excited about pregnancy writing. Is there a way to know how Sevika would behave with an injured reader when she is pregnant or when she gives birth to her baby? I thank heaven that put you on my profile, I read this every night before going to sleep (don't judge me for being so weird ïżŁ(=â”=)ïżŁ )
â⧠Sevika with a pregnant girl ââ§
An: girl I understand (me too fr- I love writing stuff like this)
â⧠Sevika is protective as hell, always on guard when youâre around. The idea of you carrying her child brings out a deeper, fiercer side to her.
â⧠Sheâs not great at expressing her feelings verbally but shows her care through actions. For example, when youâre pregnant, sheâll make sure youâre never doing too much, offering to handle any physical tasks.
â⧠If you get hurt while pregnant, sheâs livid. Sheâll immediately jump into action, her protective instincts taking over. Sevika is usually stoic, but if youâre hurt in any way, youâll see a more vulnerable side of herâconcern, anger, fear.
â⧠In those moments, Sevikaâs eyes will burn with anger, and sheâll make sure to stay by your side until youâre safe and sound. If itâs a more serious injury, sheâll insist on taking care of you herself, even if it means staying up all night.
â⧠Sheâll be hovering around you during labor, but in her own wayâstaying close but not overly dramatic. Sevika has a quiet intensity, trying to stay strong for you while she watches you go through something as intense as childbirth
â⧠During labor, Sevika has a firm hand on your back, rubbing circles to calm you down, though sheâs visibly on edge. She might not say much, but her presence is comforting in a way you canât quite put into words.
â⧠Sheâs not one for saying sweet things, but you can tell sheâs paying attention to every little thing, from your breathing to how youâre holding up.
â⧠Her reaction when the baby is born is nothing short of awe. Sheâs trying to be tough about it, but thereâs no hiding how sheâs completely taken by this tiny human you both made.
â⧠Sevikaâs hand is right there when the baby is handed to you, and the way she looks at the two of youâher child, her familyâtells you everything you need to know about how much she cares.
â⧠After the baby is born, Sevika is surprisingly tender with the little one. She may not be the most openly affectionate person, but with her child, itâs different. Youâll see her carefully hold the baby, as though sheâs learning how to be gentle.
â⧠She takes on a lot of the heavier work at home, but always with the unspoken promise to keep you both safe and well. She might do things like bring you food or clean the house without you asking, all because she knows youâre doing the most important work: nurturing.
â⧠Sheâs not exactly cuddly, but when the babyâs in your arms, Sevika will give you both soft looks from across the room. Her love for the two of you is clear in her eyes, even if her expression is more reserved than anything.
â⧠If the baby cries, Sevikaâs instinct is to quickly check and see whatâs wrong, almost like sheâs scanning the room for danger. She can be a bit paranoid about protecting the baby but has the best of intentions.
â⧠Sevika will fight anyone who tries to harm you or your baby, no question. If anyone dares to cross her or her family, theyâll regret it immediately.
â⧠When youâre up late with the baby, Sevika will always offer to take the night shift. She knows how hard it is, and though sheâs not the best with soothing techniques, her strong, steady presence gives you some peace.
â⧠As the baby grows, Sevika will be the kind of mom whoâs constantly teaching them, showing them how to be tough, resilient, and smart.
â⧠Sheâll teach them about the world in a way thatâs practicalâhow to defend themselves, how to survive in a harsh worldâbut also instill in them a deep sense of loyalty and respect for others.
â⧠When the baby takes their first steps, Sevika will act like itâs no big deal, but her eyes will soften just a little. Itâs one of those small moments where her pride in her child shows through.
â⧠She might not say it often, but youâll hear her whisper âI love youâ to the baby when she thinks youâre not paying attention. Itâs a rare moment of softness that she keeps for her family.
â⧠Sheâll always be the one to ensure that both you and the baby are physically protected. When people in Piltover or Zaun look at you with a hint of judgment, Sevika doesnât flinch. She gives a glare that makes them think twice.
â⧠Sheâs a very practical mother, not one for over-the-top displays of affection, but the way she looks after the baby shows how deeply she cares.
â⧠When the baby gets older, Sevika is there for every milestone, though she might play it off like itâs no big deal. But youâll catch that proud look she gives when the baby shows their first sign of strength.
â⧠Sevika will be the first one to defend the babyâs honorâif someone tries to mess with them, Sevika will be the one to step in and put them in their place.
â⧠When youâre resting, Sevika is right there beside you, making sure the baby is fed, happy, and safe while you get the rest you need.
â⧠Sheâs surprisingly sentimental about keepsakesâif you manage to get her to keep something like a baby blanket or a little toy, itâs something she holds onto tightly, even when the babyâs grown.
â⧠Despite being a hardened individual, when Sevika sees her child laugh, she canât help but soften. That sound fills her with something sheâs not used toâcomplete, overwhelming love.
â⧠In her quiet moments, youâll sometimes catch her staring at the baby with that same sense of awe she had when they were born.
â⧠Sevika is a fierce protector, but sheâs also a caring and capable mother who does her best to provide stability and strength for her family.
â⧠Sheâll stay up late with the baby, rocking them to sleep in her arms, her stern demeanor softening in the quiet of the night.
â⧠Sevika will protect you both fiercely and provide for you, though youâll often need to coax her into being a little more affectionate. Sheâs still getting used to showing that side of herself, but for you and the baby, sheâll always go to any length.

I understand broadly that intersex is an innate characteristic but is it also something that can develop in someone beyond what is encoded in their body? Not in a taking HRT way but for example if an accident or illness permanently changes the hormones someoneâs body produces or causes variations in their sex phenotype. Not trying to ask this as a âgotchaâ question just genuinely trying to understand. Sorry if this is offensive in any way.
that's actually a very good question, im not sure! i feel like this could be a possible thing, as there are a lot of contactable/contagious illnesses that affect the body in different and often unpredictable ways, but i don't have any knowledge on this firsthand, actually!
if anyone has any more info for anon & myself please feel free to share! i'm curious as well :) take care for now!

proposing some kind of alternate 2/2, where the thieves decided to check on joker just to make sure he's not tempted by maruki's deal, barged in to the cafe, and found out that akechi's life on limbo. more in cut
so if you ask me, i actually enjoyed their rivalry relationship a lot! but i also think it's placed in an awkward situation: the thieves don't hate him, especially because he wasn't fully at fault, but also i'm sure some of them will hold grudge or mixed feelings about him (and i think this bleeds into the writers too*). or in case of royal trio (which interactions i also enjoyed, but have a catch:), it's kinda funny how sumire doesn't actually know what happened to akechi in depth.
it makes sense for their relationship to be more "secluded/secretive" from the team, but also this is why i find it to be rocky if their relationship continue further, be it platonic or romantic, whatever you prefer. i can't imagine how will futaba feel if she found out, for example â given how much she seems to not care much about akechi**. and the game (understandably, for pacing reasons) keeps on avoiding to explore the nuance of akechi-joker's relationship effects deeper in the game.
the concept is not only for joker to be even more torn seeing his friends arguing & akechi's fate, but also to see the polarization among the thieves, akechi being conflicted between disgusted and teammate care (boiler room but worse?), and maruki regretting seeing that he's not making things any better or easier for everyone, especially joker (hoo may be interesting to see how the thieves feel about maruki too after this).
well, i still wish for a P5RST game that reunites them all, one of them because i want this to be explored..... oh well. i know his arc has a closure already, but... yeah. i'm honestly more of a platonic akeshuake guy because of this (i've also always been a platonic guy in general, though), but i also don't like the crowd who thinks the PT hates him and thinks they only see them as a killer. and i think resolving the awkward situation between the PT and akechi could make more players open up about the dynamics between them that can be explored, instead of being stuck thinking the extremes.
* a prominent example of this was ryuji. ryuji brought up akechi a lot as one of the reasons upon confronting shido (he even banged the boiler room door), but then said "uh it was for joker" when akechi thanked them for taking shido down in 3rd semester mementos. while i think this is possibly because ryuji has a bigger affinity for joker because well, he's the team leader, close friend, and akechi is still at wrong, i thought it was a bit... backlashy tone wise? i was under the assumption that he did it both for akechi and especially joker, but the mementos dialog made it sound like he only did it for joker. just felt kinda rough in showing the nuance on how he feels.
** like the talk when they all found out the effects of maruki's reality wearing off. when the topic was about realizing akechi "dies" once again, she ignored it and brought up about her mother instead. though, i think this is still more of the consistent examples in writing how each thieves feel about akechi. she has always been bringing up about her mother more often in shido arc, while still can understand where akechi came from.

Thanks! I'm not sure why I missed this in my notifications. It does help. If you're interested in news about American politics, the website The Hill does a good job with factual reporting.
Yes, news organizations have their biases as well, but the good ones try to present enough factual information that readers can draw their own conclusions.
It's also important to be aware that American media finds Donald Trump very entertaining, so they will cover just about everything he does, whereas when Democrats do things that are important and help people, journalists often consider it boring and that stuff does not make it on the front page.
Still, I would say most newspapers are a better source than social media or YouTube, where
I think a problem with getting news off of social media sites and even YouTube, where all the news is treated as entertainment and gets filtered through someone's opinion. There is a lot of "both sidesing" on social media where Americans who should know better promote the idea that both political parties are the same. They really are not.
They used to be more similar, in that they both believed in following the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the body of law that has been built up over the course of the existence of the United States. In other words, they both valued the rule of law (at least to some extent, and always giving lip service to it even when they did not follow it), rather than ruling through any means necessary. That should really be the baseline for any American political party, but unfortunately it is not.
The Republicans no longer support the rule of law as historically understood in our country, and they don't even give lipservice to it. They have become more of a cult of personality and strong-arming. I am not saying this to attack. They are clear about this in their own materials.
So basically, the Democratic party believes in the rule of law as historically understood in the United States, while the Republican party believes in overturning more than 100 years of legal precedent in order to create more hierarchies and inequalities in society.
There are also a lot of policy differences, but those are the fundamental differences.
Are there any Australian news sources you would recommend? I am mostly familiar with ABC.
(oh, P.S. The KKK has always been recruiting. From the 1970s through maybe the 2010s, they did most of this recruiting fairly secretively and were ostracized by both political parties. They are now much more in the open and the far right of the Republican party openly flirt with them and other white supremacist organizations, or just plain embraced these organizations. Many of the January 6ers pardoned by Trump are affiliated with white supremacist organizations. The Southern Poverty Law Center is a good resource for understanding US hate groups.)
Itâs uncanny how similar Trump is acting like Hitler. People are now doing the Nazi salute. Theyâre drawing the symbol. The KKK was seen in Kentucky asking people to join them. ICE has been ripping families apart. Companies have pulled back Diversity Initiatives. Weâre no longer part of WHO and there wonât be any communication from the CDC at least until February 1st. Weâre being censored and the news canât be trusted. Thousands of Americans didnât know there were protests against Trump yesterday outside the U.S. Quotes from The Handmaidâs Tale and Anne Frank have been compared to whatâs going on right now.
According to The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Studies and Prevention the U.S. has officially been given a red flag alert for Genocide.
Iâm exhausted but I will never stop being angry.

i wanted to say your post about lu guang's morality is currently my favorite thing ever. im not sure if you're just incredibly smart or have the gift of prophecy but you are so right and the post is very very good
hi! i'm so glad you enjoy my post >.<
i tragically do not have the gift of prophecy, but i'm happy to explain my reasoning! spoilers ahead.
first off, i wanna say that when i made that post, it was less of a prediction and more of a reading of what the show had already laid out.
i've seen a few detractors of my post on twitter, all of them saying things along the lines of "this is a misguided take because lg is selfless. lg only killed vein bc vein killed csx. we have no proof that lg is sacrificing others." there's a lot to pick apart with these rebuttals, and i'll get to that, but i feel there is one essential point they are all missing: time travel in an of itself is an act of hubris.
going back in time with the intention of changing the past is one born out of great hubristic selfishness. anyone doing so is automatically (and wrongfully) assuming the role of a god.
the show is well aware of this. take the earthquake arc for example. as csx takes it upon himself to try and evacuate the village, lg points out that in doing so, he could end up inadvertently killing more people. this is because the butterfly effect is uncertain and lg knows this. that whole interaction functions two-fold. one: it establishes that the narrative itself is aware of the stakes here. it is an in-universe acknowledgment that changing the past, even if it's to save lives, is extremely risky and ultimately selfish. two: it establishes that lg is very aware of this truth, which is what makes the s2 reveal so shocking. despite being aware of the consequences, lg is still trying to change the past to save csx.
it also tells us that lg's steadfastness about csx not changing the past is likely born out of a fear of csx accidentally messing up the timeline lg is cultivating, and not out of some noble effort to minimize their impact on others' lives, which is how it was previously framed. all this evidence paints a very clear picture: lu guang is not the morally just character we once thought. he is placing his own happiness above literally everyone else's wellbeing. yes he is trying to save csx, but he's only doing that because he can't stomach the idea of living without him. his motivations are objectively selfish at their core.
back to the detractors: i feel some people are conflating lg's actions being done out of love for his actions also being selfless. and while i agree there is an (albeit twisted) form of love behind all this, there is nothing selfless about what he's doing. why does lg get to decide what the future should hold? why does any one man get the final say on what happens to the rest of the world, and all the billions of rich lives within it? hell, why does he even get to decide what happens to csx? yes he's acting under the pretense of saving csx, but does csx even want to be saved? would csx even be okay with what he's doing? i honestly don't think so. when csx believed lg had died, he contemplated using his powers to go back in time and save him, but ultimately decided against it because as far as he was concerned, lg wouldn't approve. he understands the potential chain reaction that comes from saving even one life because lg drilled it into his head. even if he is impulsive to a fault, at the end of the day, csx would never want to cause harm to others, especially not at this magnitude.
even if this effort to change the past/future fails, the fact that he was willing to take this massive risk in the first places says a lot about his priorities and overall character. while he probably doesn't actively want to sacrifice others, he absolutely will if it means keeping csx in his life saving csx.
in this most recent episode, just minutes before killing vein, he says to him, "do you know the butterfly effect? in a dynamic system, any subtle change in the initial conditions may lead to different outcomes. i've been thinking how to change a destined ending completely. if there is an additional point before this, an unchangeable point, what will happen? no need to fear the deviation. just let it happen more completely." lg killed vein partly out of revenge yes, but also to create another unchangeable node in the timeline. he is trying to secure csx's future by taking another life.
and none of this is even touching on how lg possessed a woman's body, which is a COMPLETE violation of her autonomy, to kill vein, knowing damn well she'd take the fall for his murder. lol.
so yeah. lu guang is (and always has been) a selfish, immoral bastard (she said with love), and the writers were very deliberate in setting that up.
there's so much more i could say on this but then this would get way too long, which it already lowkey is haha. thank you for the ask! i genuinely appreciate the opportunity to word vomit all this <3

Time Travel
trafalgar law x reader
what would happen if law finds himself back in the past where the person he secretly loved for years is still alive?

The battle had been hard fought, but victory was theirs. The crew of the Polar Tang had emerged victorious against a powerful enemy, though not without their wounds. Law stood at the bow of the ship, his eyes scanning the horizon, his mind too tangled with thoughts to focus on the quiet after the storm.
He wasnât prepared for what happened next.
The sharp crackle of energy, a distortion in the very air around him. Before he could even react, the world around him swirled into a blur. His ship, his crew, the oceanâall of it seemed to twist and bend in on itself, until everything went silent.
Law staggered back, the strange sensation of time ripping apart around him leaving him disoriented. He couldnât even register the shock of it before the world shifted again, and suddenlyâ
He was back.
But not back where he expected. Not where he was, not on the Polar Tang with his crew.
No.
He was on a shipâbut not the one heâd been aboard moments ago. The crew around him was⊠different. Younger.
He looked around, taking in the familiar faces of his old crew. The same crew, but so much younger than he remembered. Shachi, Bepo, Penguin, and⊠his younger self.
He swallowed hard, his heart pounding. This wasnât just an ordinary flashback. This was something else entirely. The situation was surreal...impossible, even. But there they were.
He was back in the past. The year when you were still alive.
The crew sense someone behind them and they all turn alarmed and see him, a familiar but different face. They gather on deck, buzzing with questions. Law stands with them, trying to appear composed despite his inner turmoil. His younger self stares at him with wide eyes, as confused as the rest.
âSo⊠what exactly is going on here?â Younger Law demands, still clutching his sword, his eyes darting between the older version of himself and the others âYou⊠Youâre me, arenât you?â
Law rubs his temples, trying to gather his thoughts. He canât reveal too much, he doesn't know what happened and why he was there, but one thing he knows is that he canât change anything that would affect the timeline.
âYou could say thatâ he replies quietly âBut I canât tell you everything. It could alter the future in ways I canât predictâ
The crew watches, sit all around him, eager, full of questions. But Law canât answer them. Not really.
"You don't look good Captain. It looks like something happened that changed you" Bepo says with a worried face "you look sad and dull"
"Yeah" Penguin nods looking between Law and his younger-form "did something bad happened? To us?"
"I can't say anything, I'm sorry" Law answers.
âWhy are you here, then?â Shachi asks, his eyes suspicious but full of curiosity. âIf you canât tell us about the future, why show up? And you keep looking around like you're searching for somethingâ
âI⊠I didnât have a choiceâ Lawâs voice is low, strained âI was brought here by someone or something. I canât explain it. But Iâm trying to make sure certain things⊠stay the same. You wouldnât believe me if I told you"
Law clenches his fists at his side, wishing he could just tell them everything. But the risks were too high. There was no way to undo the damage if he did.
He shifts uncomfortably âSome things⊠are better left unknown. It's for your own good tooâ
Penguin watches him for a moment before lowering his head in understanding âI get it. Itâs a lot.â
You, meanwhile, looked at the scene from afar. You were in the usual spot you used to hide in, watching quietly. Youâre studying Law with an odd curiosity, but youâre noticing how different he looks from the man you knew.
Eventually, the questions begin to fade away, and the crew starts to break apart for the evening, everyone heading off in different directions.
Law feels a presence behind him and turns, seeing you walking toward him.
As you walk toward him, you see his face completely change expression, becoming one full of sadness and regrets.
He stands up abruptly.
âYouâre not gonna run off, are you?â you ask, a small smile playing on your lips.
He blinks at you, surprised âI wasnât planning toâ
You tilt your head, studying him closely âItâs a little⊠overwhelming, isnât it? All these questions, all these things you canât talk aboutâ
He stares at you, unsure how to answer. The weight of seeing you alive again is heavier than he couldâve imagined. Your smile is just as he remembers. Your eyesâthe same ones he fell for so long agoâhold a curious warmth.
You break the silence again, your voice softer now âSo⊠I promise I won't tell anyone. What happens to us in the future?â
Itâs like a punch to the gut. Law wants to tell you. He wants to share everything with you... to make sure you know how much he loves you, how much he regrets never telling you before. But the words stick in his throat. He canât risk changing anything. If he tells you too much, it could cause a ripple that would undo everything.
âYou know I canât say anythingâ Law says, his voice quiet, almost strained âI wish I could. But Iâm pretty sure Iâm not supposed to change anything.â
You nod, almost as if you knew that would be his answer. You glance down at your hands, your expression thoughtful.
âRight⊠So I guess I wonât get any answersâ You look up at him again, eyes searching his face for something âWell, thereâs one thing I can ask thatâs⊠probably safe.â
Law blinks, confused âWhat?â
You hesitate for a moment before asking softly, âAre we together? In the future, I mean. Are we⊠together?â
The question hits him like a bolt of lightning. His heart races, the truth weighing on him like a ton of bricks.
He realizes, suddenly, painfully, that he never really knew for sure if you felt the same. He never got the chance to know because he lost you before he could even confess his true feelings. And now, here you are, asking him, and he canât give you the answer you deserve.
It was always a mutual love, but he never knew it. Not until now.
Law opens his mouth, but no words come out. Heâs too caught up in the truth of it, in the painful realization that he should have said something sooner.
You smile, regret in your face for asking him that. You look down to avoid his eyes "I take it as a no..."
âI⊠I donât knowâ he mutters finally, his voice barely above a whisper âI donât know what happens.â
You smile faintly, as if you believe his lie âItâs okay. I guess⊠I guess Iâll just have to live to find out later on, right?â
He watches you for a moment longer, the pain of it all almost unbearable. You smile again, but it doesnât reach your eyes.
Later that evening Law walks quietly through the ship, his mind racing. He stops at the railing and looks out at the ocean, his thoughts heavy.
He wishes that you could survive, that you don't have to die the way you did. But how can he change the past without destroying everything else? Is it selfish of him if he is actually thinking about destrying the whole future to let you live?
Then he sees itâhis younger self, standing on the deck, staring at you from a distance. The longing in his eyes is so clear, so painfully obvious.
Young Lawâs gaze lingers on you, a soft expression on his face. Heâs too scared, too silent, too unsure to say anything.
Now that Law knows about your feelings he wants to push his young-self into doing what he's so scared to do. Even if he can't change the future he wants the two of you to talk your hearts out so that in the future you won't die with the regret, so that he himself don't have to live with the same regret. Maybe the time you two have together isn't a lot but it's enough for living your love just a bit.
Law approaches him quietly, careful not to interrupt his thoughts. âYou need to tell her,â he says softly âBefore itâs too late.â
The younger Law turns, surprised, but doesnât ask for clarification. He just looks back at you, still holding back, unsure.
âI canât make you do anything, but if you wait, you might lose your chance foreverâ Law continues, his voice low, filled with the pain of his own unspoken words.
The younger Law says nothing, his gaze still focused on you. But after a long pause, he nods, a soft resolve settling in his eyes.
The next few days pass in a haze for Law. He tries to focus on the mission at hand, hoe to go back to his timeline and on the reason he was sent back in timeâsomething about the crewâs safety and preventing a dangerous chain of events. But all he can think about is you, and the heartbreaking truth that he canât tell you.
The most painful part is knowing that heâs already seen your death. Heâs already lived through the pain of losing you, but now, seeing you alive againâalive in this timelineâhe feels a gnawing desperation. He doesn't want that future to happen.
Later, on deck Law finds himself standing near the railing, staring out at the vast ocean as the crew moves around the ship. His thoughts are dark, clouded with regret, and he canât seem to shake the image of you from his mind.
That push on his younger self wan't enough, but he can't risk more. His younger self, as always, is keeping to himself, sitting off to the side, hands on his sword. Heâs quieter than usual, his eyes often drifting toward youâtoward the woman he loves but hasnât yet realized if and how to confess.
Law canât help the sigh that escapes his lips. Itâs a sharp, frustrated exhale, the weight of all the things he wants to say but canât. Itâs a constant battle in his head, fighting against the rules of time and destiny.
âEverything okay, Captain?â Shachiâs voice breaks through his thoughts.
Law turns to him, forcing a tight smile âYeah. Just thinkingâ
Shachi looks at him, clearly sensing the tension, but doesnât press the issue. Instead, he glances toward where younger Law is sitting, looking at you from a distance.
âHey, whatâs up with the kid?â Shachi asks âHeâs been acting kind of⊠strange, lately.â
Law looks over, his gaze following Shachiâs. His younger self is staring at you, his expression distant but soft. Thereâs something in the way he watches you, something that Law recognizes all too wellâlonging, fear, hesitation.
âHeâs⊠figuring things outâ Law mutters, his voice heavy. Heâs been hoping that his younger self would listen to himâthat he would understand, act before itâs too late. But part of him still feels a lingering doubt.
âYou think heâs gonna do something about it?â Shachi continues, raising an eyebrow âItâs kind of obvious he, or you for what it can mean, is in love with herâ
âI actually don't know but I hope soâ Law says, more to himself than to anyone else âI hope soâ
Shachi nods and is about to leave when Law stops him "Tell me... was I always so obvious?"
He looks shocked to hear is Captain asking this but compose himself into a soft smile "We all knew from the beginning that you love her, you started acting different as soon as she arrived here. On the other hand y/n is more difficult to read"
This makes Law lose himself in thoughts again. The whole crew knew, this means they have a lot of regrets as well for what happened to you, to the both of you.
Later that nigh, the crew sits around the table, sharing a quiet meal. Youâre there, of course, laughing with the others, the familiar warmth of your presence filling the room. Law canât help but glance at you from time to time. Heâs only allowed to watch you from a distance now, but itâs a sharp, painful reminder of everything he never said.
He catches sight of his younger self, whoâs watching you too. This time, however, thereâs something different in his expression. His eyes arenât just filled with longing, theyâre filled with determination.
His younger self stands suddenly, pushing his chair back and leave the crew confused. For a moment, Law feels a surge of hope. His younger self is acting on it. Heâs going to do something.
On deck, under the stars, Young Law walks toward you, the weight of what heâs about to do heavy on his shoulders. Youâre sitting by the edge of the ship, looking out at the night sky, lost in thoughts. When you hear him approach, you turn, offering him a warm, friendly smile.
âYou sure you should be out here alone?â he asks, his voice hesitant âItâs a bit⊠quiet.â
You tilt your head, a teasing glint in your eyes âIsnât that the point of being alone? You should try it sometime.â
He pauses, taking in your words, your smile. His heart beats harder in his chest, unsure of how to proceed. Heâs always been like thisâsilent, holding back, afraid to say the things he really feels.
But now, after hearing Lawâs advice, he knows what he needs to do.
âI⊠I need to tell you somethingâ he says, his voice quieter than usual.
You raise an eyebrow, your curiosity piqued âWhatâs that?â
He takes a deep breath, trying to steady his racing heart. Heâs scared, but the truth has to come out âI⊠I like you. I like you more than just as a friend. Iâve always⊠Iâve always liked you.â
Your eyes widen in surprise, and for a moment, neither of you speaks. But then, you smile, and itâs so bright, so genuine, that his chest aches with relief.
âIâm glad you finally said somethingâ you reply softly âI⊠Iâve always felt the same way.â
His heart stops. The words hit him like a wave crashing over him, drowning him in warmth and hope âWait⊠you do?â
You laugh softly, your eyes glimmering in the moonlight âOf course. It was pretty obvious, donât you think?â
Young Law smiles, a small but relieved smile. Heâs never felt this light before, this certain. For the first time, heâs no longer holding back.
Present-Law watching the scene from afar with the crew. Tears in his eyes because now he knows you got the chance to love each other even if for a short time.
Suddenly there's a blinding light and a few moments later when Law opens his eyes again he finds himself laying in a bed in the nurse of the Polar Tang. His mind is spinning..
He returns to the Polar Tang, to his crew, to the present. Was is all a dream? What actually happened?
Bepo at his side, sleeping.
He gets up waking him up and confused, the first thing Law asks "Did I ever got the chance to confess my feelings to y/n?"
"Captain are you okay? Why suddenly ask that?" Bepo says panicking.
Law sigh and firmly add "Just answer".
He's scared, he's scared it was all just a dream. Scared you died without knowing about his feelings just has it actually happened. Scared that maybe you actually never reciprocated his feelings, his love.
"Of course you did"
Law's eyes widened, his heart beating fast as never before. It wasn't a dream. He was actually able to change that small but important part of the past. You died knowing about his love. He lost you but not without giving you his full love.
He gets up and steps onto the deck.
There you are. Standing right in front of him, alive, vibrant, and here.
He stops, unable to breathe for a moment. His mind races. This canât be right. Heâs seen you die. Heâs seen your body fallâheâs seen everything. But now youâre here, smiling at him like nothing ever happened.
ây/n?â He barely manages to choke out your name, his voice filled with disbelief.
You smile at him, a familiar, gentle smile âYou finally woke up. Whatâs wrong, Captain? You look like youâve seen a ghost.â
Lawâs world tilts on its axis. He canât understand it. He doesnât know how this is possibleâhow youâre alive in front of him now.
But thereâs only one explanation: the confession. His younger selfâs confession. Somehow, it saved you.
He watches you, stunned, his chest tightening as emotions flood him.
âIâI thought I⊠I thought youâŠâ he stammers.
You tilt your head, noticing his confusion âWhatâs the matter?â
The weight of it all is too much for him. He canât speak, canât form the words. But deep inside, he knows this is itâthe moment when everything changed. The future he thought was set in stone, the future that broke him, had shifted. And you⊠you were still alive.
He shakes his head, trying to collect himself. He knows heâs seeing you right in front of him, alive, as if the death he witnessed in the past never happened. He swallows, his throat tight, unable to find the words to express the overwhelming rush of emotions.
âYou⊠YouâreâŠâ He struggles to speak, but the confusion weighs him down. Itâs not just the shock of seeing you aliveâitâs everything that led to this moment, everything that shouldnât have happened.
You raise an eyebrow, stepping closer to him âWhat happened? Is something wrong?â
âNoâ Law says finally, his voice hoarse âNo, nothingâs wrong. Itâs just⊠I donât understand.â
âAre you okay?â you ask, your voice soft with concern, breaking through the tangle of thoughts in his head.
Law doesnât know how to respond. He doesnât know what to say to you, not when everything feels like itâs slipping through his fingers. Heâs terrified that this shift in fateâthis small changeâcould lead to something even worse.
âIâm fineâ he says, forcing a smile, though it doesnât reach his eyes. His mind is still racing, trying to process whatâs happened. He doesnât know how this happenedâhow the timeline could have been altered so drasticallyâbut he knows one thing for sure.
âYouâre hereâ he repeats, as if the words will make sense of the situation âYouâre alive.â
You blink, a little confused by his intensity âWell, of course Iâm alive, Captain. Why wouldnât I be?â
A sharp pain stabs at Lawâs chest as he recalls the pastâthe version of the future where you were dead. It had been so final, so irreversible. The pain of losing you had been one of the deepest regrets of his life. But now? Now, thereâs a chance, maybe a small one, but still a chance, that things could be different.
The realization crashes over him like a tidal wave.
He looks at you again, this time with a weight that wasnât there before. Youâre alive. Youâre here. And he didnât have to lose you, not like before. His younger self had given him a second chance, and now⊠he has to hold on to that. He has to protect it.
He runs to close the distance between you two and hugs you like he never has. You're too schocked to move at first but then you put your hands around him.
Later, in the crewâs quarters, Law lies awake in his hammock, his thoughts spinning out of control. How could things change so quickly, so drastically? He canât understand it. He should have never interfered, never given that advice to his younger self. But then again, he couldnât let you die "again" without knowing that you were loved.
A soft knock at the door pulls him from his thoughts. He doesnât need to ask who it is.
âCome inâ he says quietly.
The door creaks open, and there you are, standing in the doorway. You look at him with a slight frown, your arms crossed over your chest.
âYouâre still awakeâ you say, your voice gentle âEverything okay? Youâve been acting⊠different.â
Law sits up slightly in his hammock, his heart racing again. Heâs never been good at hiding his feelings, and right now, his emotions are a whirlwind. How could he explain to you what heâs feeling? How could he tell you whatâs going on in his head when he barely understands it himself?
âIâm⊠fineâ he says, though it feels like a lie. Heâs anything but fine. âJust thinking.â
You step into the room, closing the door behind you, and sit down on the chair across from him. âAbout what?â
âAbout⊠everythingâ he mutters âAbout how things are different now.â
You look at him, studying him closely. You can tell somethingâs weighing on him âDifferent how?â you ask, your voice soft but insistent.
He looks at you, torn between the need to protect you and the crushing urge to be honest. But heâs afraid of what that honesty might cost him. Heâs afraid that if he tells you too much, it will change everything again.
âYou wouldnât understandâ he says, his voice low. He canât bring himself to explain the truth, at least not now.
You fake to be offended with a funny expression, and he loves when you do that because it makes you even cuter. You study him for a moment, your expression unreadable. Then, as if deciding something, you stand and walk over to him. Without a word, you reach out and gently place your hand on his arm.
âI understand more than you thinkâ you say quietly, your fingers warm against his skin âYou donât have to carry all this on your own. You donât have to hide from me.â
The softness in your voice, the warmth of your touch, cracks something deep inside him. His chest tightens, his breath catching in his throat. How could he have been so blind to what was right in front of him all this time?
He looks at you, really looks at you for the first time since he arrived in this timeline, and suddenly, he sees it all... the way you care for him, the way youâve always been there, despite the unspoken distance between you. He realizes that he never really understood the depth of your feelings until now, and maybe thatâs what changed. Maybe thatâs the gift he was given, a second chance to finally get it.
âYouâre right" he whispers, his voice thick with emotion âI donât want to hide anymore.â
You look at him in surprise, your eyes widening slightly âWhat do you mean?â
He swallows hard, gathering the courage to say the words that have been buried deep inside him for so long.
âI⊠I love youâ he says quietly, but with absolute certainty. The words feel like a weight lifted off his shoulders, the truth finally out in the open.
You smile, a small but genuine smile, and take a step closer to him âI think Iâve known that for a whileâ
You both sit in silence for a moment, you studying him while he's still lost in his thoughts. The weight of the admission must hit you differently, given all the strange tension and confusion his behavior has caused since his return to the present. But then you speak, and your words pull him back from the edge of his spiraling thoughts.
âWell, if itâs any comfort, I love you tooâ you say, your tone light but sincere âI mean, youâre kind of an idiot sometimes, and youâve got this whole âbroody lonerâ thing thatâs exhausting to keep up with, but⊠yeah. I love you, idiotâ
The way you say it, so unguarded, so natural, he didn't realise how much he needed to hear those words until now, even though they come from you here, in this altered present.
He exhales a shaky breath, running a hand through his hair âYou really donât make things easy, do you?â
You smirk, stepping closer to him, your arms crossing over your chest âThatâs part of my charmâ
Law shakes his head, the corners of his lips twitching upward despite the heaviness still clinging to him. For the first time since he returned to this timeline, he feels lighterâlike the crushing weight of regret and grief that had followed him for years is finally lifting.
But thereâs still a lingering doubt in his mind. Did he truly rewrite the future, or is this just a fleeting moment of borrowed time? And if things really have changed, how much has been altered?
You notice him deep in thought again, so you lean in and press a quick, gentle kiss to his cheek. The sudden gesture pulls him out of his thoughts, and he turns to look at you, his expression of surprise. You canât help but laugh at his reaction.
âCaptain, why the shocked face? Weâve done worse than thisâ you tease, offering him a playful wink as you start walking towards the door âSleep well now.â
On the Polar Tang, it doesnât take long for the crew to notice the shift between you and Law.
âUh, are you two⊠okay?â Shachi asks, looking back and forth between the two of you as you stand side by side on the deck.
You raise an eyebrow âWhy wouldnât we be?â
âDunno. Maybe because since the day he fainted, Captain here looks like he saw the ghost of his past mistakes?â Penguin says.
âEnoughâ Law snaps, his voice low but firm. He doesnât need the crew making a spectacle of this, not when heâs still trying to make sense of everything himself.
You, on the other hand, seem entirely unfazed by their reactions. You smirk, leaning against the railing with an air of casual confidence. âWhatâs the matter, Captain? Wanna give them something to really talk about?â
Law groans, pinching the bridge of his nose. Youâve always had a way of getting under his skin, but somehow, it feels different now, lighter, even.
âDonât you all have work to do?â he mutters, turning his back to them and stalking off toward the shipâs interior.
But as he walks away, he catches the faint sound of your laughter behind him, and for the first time in a long while, it doesnât sting.
Later that evening, Law finds himself alone in his quarters, staring down at a stack of charts and papers heâs been meaning to sort through. But his mind isnât on his work, itâs on you, on the way your presence has started to fill the cracks in his carefully constructed walls.
He still doesnât know how this timeline shift works. Did his advice to his younger self truly rewrite everything? And if so, how much of the past is still the same? Did your future really change or is it just temporary?
His thoughts spiral as he recalls the moment his younger self finally confessed to you. It was a subtle nudge, a small push in the right direction, but it had changed everything. If his younger self hadnât listened, if he hadnât acted, would you still be gone? Would you have died with regrets, with unspoken feelings left between you?
A knock at the door pulls him from his thoughts, and he looks up to see you standing there, leaning casually against the frame.
âCaptainâ you say, your tone light but teasing âYouâre brooding again.â
He sighs, gesturing for you to come in âWhat do you want?â
You step into the room, closing the door behind you âJust checking on you. Youâve been acting really weird latelyâ
Law leans back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest âIâm fine nowâ
âYou always say thatâ you reply, walking over to stand in front of his desk âBut we both know itâs not true. So whatâs really going on?â
For a moment, he considers brushing you off, keeping the truth locked away like he always does. But then he looks at you, really looks at you, and he sees the concern in your eyes, the genuine care that youâve always shown him, even when he didnât deserve it.
And he realizes that maybe, just this once, he doesnât have to carry the weight alone.
âIâŠâ he hesitates, the words catching in his throat âI was afraid Iâd lost you.â
Your eyes widen slightly at his admission, but you donât interrupt, giving him the space to continue.
âThere was a time when you werenât hereâ he says quietly, his voice thick with emotion âAnd it was⊠unbearable. I didnât know how to fix it, how to stop it. And nowâŠâ He looks down at his hands, his fingers curling into fists. âNow, youâre here, and I donât know if itâs real or if itâs just another cruel trick.â
You take a step closer to him, reaching out to place a hand on his arm âIâm here, Law,â you say softly âI was always here with you and I'll always be. Whatever happened, whatever you went through⊠Iâm here now. And Iâm not going anywhere.â
He looks up at you, his eyes searching yours for any sign of doubt or hesitation. But all he sees is the same fierce determination that heâs always admired in you.
For the first time since his return to the present, he feels a flicker of hope, hope that maybe, just maybe, this new future is something he can hold on to.
Most of the crew is asleep, leaving Law in the solitude of his quarters. He stares out of the small circular window, his mind a battlefield of thoughts. He knows he should be relieved, grateful, that youâre alive, but a part of him canât let go of the fear. The fear that this could all slip away in an instant.
The soft creak of the door pulls him from his thoughts. He doesnât need to turn around to know itâs you.
âYouâre still awake... againâ you say, your voice quiet but firm.
He sighs, his back still to you âI could say the same to you.â
âTouchĂ©.â You step further into the room, and the door clicks softly shut behind you âYou know, Iâve been thinking.â
âDangerousâ he mutters, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips despite himself.
You roll your eyes, though he canât see it âFunny. But seriously, Iâve been thinking about⊠us.â
That makes him turn. His eyes meet yours, and for a moment, he feels his breath catch in his throat.
âWhat about us?â he asks, his voice low.
You take a deep breath, stepping closer to him âIâve been thinking about what you said yesterday. About how you were afraid youâd lost me.â
His jaw tightens, and he looks away âI shouldnât have said that. It was selfish.â
âNo, it wasnâtâ you say firmly, closing the distance between you âIt was honest. And I donât want you to think you have to keep all of that to yourself anymore.â
Law exhales, running a hand through his hair âYou donât understand,â he says, his voice barely above a whisper âIâve seen what itâs like to lose you. Iâve lived with it. And I donât know if I can do that again.â
Your heart aches at the raw vulnerability in his voice. Without thinking, you reach out and place a hand on his chest, right over his heart.
âYou wonât lose meâ you say softly âNot if I have anything to say about it.â
He looks down at you, his eyes searching yours. Thereâs so much he wants to say, so much he wants to explain, but the words catch in his throat. Instead, he reaches up, his hand covering yours where it rests against his chest.
The silence stretches between you, thick with unspoken emotions. And then, almost imperceptibly, he leans down, his forehead brushing against yours.
ây/nâŠâ he murmurs, his voice trembling.
You close your eyes, leaning into him. âIâm here, Law. Iâm right here. We chose a life thatâs unpredictable as pirates. I know that. But that doesnât mean we canât allow ourselves to love. Do you think it would hurt less if we didnât use the time we have together to love each other? Because I donât think so. In fact, I think the opposite.â
Something inside him breaks at your words, the walls heâs so carefully constructed over the years crumbling in an instant. He tilts his head slightly, his lips brushing against yours in a tentative, almost hesitant kiss.
The contact sends a jolt through both of you, and for a moment, neither of you moves. But then you press closer, your hand sliding up to cup his face, deepening the kiss. Itâs not hurried or frantic, itâs soft and deliberate, a silent promise that neither of you is willing to let go of this moment.
When you finally pull away, youâre both breathing heavily, your foreheads still pressed together.
âIâve wanted to do that for a long time,â he admits, a small, nervous laugh escaping.
You chuckle softly as his thumb brushing against your cheek.
You smile, and for the first time in what feels like forever, he feels like the weight of the world isnât resting on his shoulders.
âI mean it, Lawâ you say, your voice serious now. âWhatever happens, weâll face it together. You donât have to do this alone.â
He nods, pulling you into a tight embrace.
âThank youâ he murmurs against your hair.
For the first time in years, he allows himself to hope, for you, for him, for a future that no longer feels so uncertain.

hiii! i came across your blog yesterday, and i love your advice. that's why i feel like you would be the best person to ask these questions that I've been having for the longest time (sorry, long read ahead).
I've studied LOA for the past 2 years or so, and even though i have a good understanding of it, there are some things that always trip me up when it comes to shifting.
how do i deal with waking up to the 3d? yes, by assuming that you are in your dr and that you shifted last night. that's the most logical answer. but even though i know that, sometimes it is a lot easier said than done. for example, a few days ago i wanted to manifest shifting by simply deciding i could shift on command and that i am there. i could be 100% sure the day before that it would happen. the whole day, and even a few days after that I'd stay in that state of being a master shifter, and i would feel amazing because of it. but it's like there always comes a point where i wake up to the 3d and i get discouraged (yes, i acknowledge that i am manifesting that reality by saying this, but i finally have to get this off my chest). my thoughts get all messed up and i start spiraling, returning to my previous state. i start questioning myself a bit and feel down. the main reason for that being time.
it took me so so long to figure out this issue about myself. I'd be like: how long is it gonna take? when will it happen? i know i have it in the 4d but when will it appear in the 3d? having it in the 4d isn't enough, i need to have it in the 3d right now. stuff like that. i find it very difficult to formulate my thoughts, but basically I'm in a spiral of:
watching a video/reading a post about LOA/shifting that reminds me of how easy it is -> applying LOA to shifting/any desire in a way that feels good for a few days at most -> starting to question myself after a few days because it hasn't shown up yet in the 3d (which is caused by me forgetting the role the 3d plays and how LOA works) even though i did everything "right" (e.g. letting go of control or the outcome, deciding, not wavering, etc.) -> falling back into a state where i question how i can shift, what i am doing wrong, etc. -> repeat
how can i break out of this cycle?
i think the main problem here is time and in general the 3d.
i know that the 3d is not a measure of my success, only made up of my current assumptions etc. i know that. but it's like i forget it once i step into the state i wanna be in and stay there for an extended period of time.
i always hear people say that "time isn't real" but i still don't really know what that means, how to apply it or how to internalize it. i really need that mental "click" to finally understand it and use that concept in my favor. because my problem is that with manifesting/shifting, after a while i start asking questions about why it's taking so long the 3d. for example, most nights i fall asleep with the assumption that I'll wake up in my dr (while letting go of control and not wavering) the next morning. but when it doesn't happen eventually, i start to question why, because since time comes from consciousness aka me, it should work in my favor.
I'm honestly so lost right now and i would really appreciate some help because I'm spiraling again. I've known about shifting since 2020 but only realized how ridiculously easy it is after joining tumblr this year and yup, i acknowledge that i am desperate to shift, preferably right now. it's not something i admit to anyone or myself because that's basically continuing to tell a story i don't want to experience (a surefire way to fail), but it is unfortunately the truth as of right now.
thank you for reading, i know this was a lot to get through!! (*^^*)
So pause for a second, because Iâm going to tell you something I hope to ingrain in the mind of everyone who sends me an askâand that you need to remember before reading everything Iâm about to say:
YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SHIFT. The ability is inside you right now. The moment you read this, your mind already knows how to shift. Everyone does.
The moment you accept this, you solve half of your problems.
And then you tell me, "But if I know how to shift, why isnât the 3D reflecting that?"
Well, yeah. You painted the house, and now youâre sitting there watching the paint dry.
Look, watching the 3D closely and looking for results isnât a problem for some people. Some can assume, âIâm already in my DR,â open their eyes, and BAMâtheyâre in their DR.
Some people assume, âI will shift tonight,â and just like that, they shift that night.
Some people let go of their DRs, stop putting them on a pedestal, and they shift.
Some people clutch their DRs close to their heart until their knuckles turn whiteâand they shift.
It sounds a lot like youâre forcing yourself into a method of applying the Law of Assumption that doesnât serve you. Why?? If you recognize that your issue is focusing on time and constantly checking the 3D, work around it. Remove time from your shifting journey.
I donât like assuming I already have something, then checking the 3D and not seeing it there. Hell, I can shift on command, and yet, if I were to lay in bed right now and tell myself, âIâm in my DR,â I guarantee you I wouldnât shift. Why? Because that doesnât work for me.
My dude, change the way you affirm. If affirming in the present (âI already shiftedâ) doesnât work for you, change it! Say, âIâm going to shift.â If even that hasnât been working, let go of implementing time into your affirmations.
Change âIâm going to wake up in my DR in the morningâ to âIâm going to wake up in my DR at some point because I KNOW I can shift.â
Change âIâm in my DR right nowâ to âI canât wait to be in my DR.â
Remove time from your affirmations and assumptions, because thatâs clearly the problem here. Instead of trusting that youâll shift tonight, trust yourself because you already know how to shift. Or trust your mind because it knows how to shift. Trust your awareness because it knows how to shift.
âI fall asleep with the assumption that I'll wake up in my DR (while letting go of control and not wavering) the next morning.â
If this were completely true, you wouldnât be sending me this ask. You wouldnât be doubting yourself as much as you just did in everything you typed. Truly letting go means releasing the need to see results in the 3D.
So, take time out of your assumptions. From now on, say âI will shift.â Or say, âI already know how to shift.â
Your brain then goes: ââŠâŠ???âŠ.uhâŠ.â looking at the 3D all confused âWhen? We haven't shifted!â
And you tell it, âIt doesnât fucking matter because Iâm going to shift eventually.â
Now, letâs say hypothetically, one week passes and you havenât shifted. One month passes, and you havenât shifted. Two months pass, and you havenât shifted.
And then you come back and say, âClover, why the heck havenât I shifted yet? Itâs been (insert amount of time). You told me to remove time as an expectation, so why havenât I shifted yet??â
And Iâll smile at you and ask, âSo youâve been counting the days?â
Let me tell you something about letting goâand hypothetically, ignoring the 3D.
Treat your ability to shift like your fortune. You have a fortune sitting in your bank account right now, and youâre rich. Do you think a rich person checks their bank account every hour to confirm theyâre still rich?
"Well yeah, Clover, because a rich personâs reality already reflects that, theyâre sitting in a mansion with all their riches."
Your fortune, what makes you rich, is your ability to shift. You already know how to shift. Shifting isnât something you learn how to do, just like breathing isnât something you learn how to do. Just like chewing isnât something you learn how to do. It is an integral part of every human being. If you have awareness, then the ability to shift exists within you.
You donât learn shiftingâyou learn yourself.
You learn what makes you shift. What makes you manifest easily. What makes you assume easily. What kind of affirmations your subconscious doesnât argue against. What makes your self-concept skyrocket.
Because everyone is different, everyone shifts differently. What works for Person A might not work for Person B. What works for Person B might not work for Person C, and so on.
Even my reply to you, it might not resonate with you. But thatâs not my fault, and itâs not yours. If that's the case, your job is to look elsewhereâand, in the best-case scenario, look internally because thatâs where the answers always are.
Letâs go over your fix options because I just yapped a lot:
YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SHIFT.
Remove time from your affirmations and assumptions. Removing time from your shifting process makes it so you have nowhere in the 3D to look.
Stop paying attention to the 3D and pay attention to yourself because whatâs going to shift is your awareness, not the damn 3D. Every time you catch yourself thinking, âOh, but itâs not showing up in the 3D,â remind yourself:
A) You already know how to shift.
B) Shifting is something you can do.
C) It could happen at any moment, so why should anything else matter?
If you were promised a million bucks from a 100% trustworthy source, would you spiral?
One more thing before I wrap this up:
It could be that actively using the Law of Assumption isnât what works best for you. Maybe you work better with visualizing. Maybe you induce the feeling of being in your DR or being a "master shifter." Maybe subliminals work better for you. There is a world of options out there, and it is completely useless to force yourself to do something that's only bringing frustration in the end. Because there is no singular way to shift. There is no singular way to manifest. And sometimesâfor some peopleâwhile the Law of Assumption is always true, focusing on it directly isnât what serves you.

The spousal person and I chose each other when we were 18. We're 44 and 43 now (I'm seven months older than him which I'm sure scandalizes antis, like I could roll over on my own while he was still a fetus so clearly I am preying on him) and we are still very happily monogamous.
Here's the thing though.
We're both autistic, neither of us grew up religious (well, the spousal person went to Catholic school K-8 but he never believed in it), we both lost a parent before we met (my father died when a month after I turned 7 and his mother died when he was 17, a few months before we met) and on our first date when we were 18 we both agreed that we did not want children and that we cared more about being happy than about outward markers of success and status.
Now 25 years later we don't have kids but we do have a lot of cats, and I often tell him that my dream is for him and the kitties to be happy and he says his is for me and the kitties to be happy. :)
We got married when we were 21, in a drive-thru chapel in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. No rings, no fancy outfits, no guests, nothing like that. Just paperwork and then driving around to the window for the officiant to say the official words, lol. I didn't change my last name.
I've been learning more about autism lately and listening to the Autistic Culture podcast and things, and maybe it's the autism, I don't know. Neither of us really understand conformity or social pressure. Neither of us are real good at socializing long term with other people. We like our routines and our rituals. We're comfortable with each other and very much not comfortable around strangers. Dealing with other people is A Lot for us.
The main thing though is that it was all completely our own choice, from the moment I emailed him and asked if he wanted to hang out without our other friends to now, when I am sitting here with a cat in my lap and he's in the kitchen making a dinner that we both talked about and chose, and then we'll eat it while watching two kdrama episodes that we talked about and chose.
Also I get really confused about things I see on here about marriage and relationships with dudes, because I don't recognize any of what the haters are saying. The spousal person does all the housework except vacuuming. I don't do all the emotional stuff. We take care of each other and support each other. He's really cool and fun and I love him more than the universe and when we're watching a kdrama and something funny happens and he laughs and I look back at him and I hear his laugh and I see his face....it's the most beautiful perfect experience in existence and I want to be near him for always.
But if you didn't choose it, if you felt pressured into it by society or religion or family, if you don't even like the person you're building your life with, if you don't support each other and you don't talk and you don't feel free to be yourself and you're just performing to please some weird external Other....yeah, I can see that being awful.
If what you really want is monogamy and lifelong commitment, you absolutely cannot force it on an unwilling pseudopartner. Domination is not commitment. Abuse is not commitment. Performing to please an external other is not commitment.
To me commitment isn't hard at all. It's the easiest thing in the world. It's just hanging out forever with my most best friend who is also the coolest cutest human to ever exist in all possible realities.
But based on what I've learned about other people since I got internet access...it's not going to be easy if you can't accept yourself for who you are and if you care more about conformity and social status than your own happiness and if you haven't taken responsibility for your own emotions and you aren't willing to work on healing your own trauma.
And if you do work on healing your own trauma and take responsibility for your emotions and get comfortable with who you are and with respecting other people as their own unique self and you find that what you want is polyamory or being single or whatever, go for it! That can be commitment too, to a steady set of multiple partners or to yourself and your own integrity.
I don't know. I think the point is that domination and abuse and forcing others never works and never results in long term happiness, no matter the number of people involved. You gotta respect the autonomous selves of others if you want mature committed relationships, of whatever kind.
Gotta stop here because he says dinner is ready. :)
everybody talks about men in trad marriages having affairs with their secretaries but itâs worth noting a lot of women back then had side pieces too. you can force a woman to submit to you legally but you can never force her to love you or maintain fidelity against her will. you can get rid of no fault divorce and get rid of abortion but you canât get rid of fun.

i found this on a joke post about first aid, but it's hard to tell how serious this person is being so i feel the need to clarify and maybe help some people learn some basic first aid. this is going to be for small, superficial cuts to the skin.
healthcare isn't free, but gauze and superglue are cheap
in today's political climate, who knows when you're going to have to rely on yourself. plus, as an American, i'm only $3000 in medical debt, all from avoiding hospitals after learning to treat myself, so you can trust me. (i am not a trained medical professional and am speaking from personal experience and research)
i'm going to start by saying you should approach personal first aid with an understanding that at any moment, you might have to accept that you can't treat this on your own and you will need to go to a hospital. just make sure it's always an open possibility in your mind. it's not a quitter's attitude, but actually an incredibly smart attitude. it's much more dangerous to push yourself past your limits over spite or stubborness or fear of debt or judgement. i'm especially talking to those of you who might have some kind of shame about self-inflicted injury.
it can be very healing and nice to tend to your own wounds, but ALWAYS be prepared to need help, and be prepared to make the decision quickly by knowing exactly what consititutes a medical emergency that is out of your scope. i talk about a couple of those scenarios in this post.
cleaning and medicating:
so first of all, for the love of GOD do NOT LICK YOUR WOUNDS. there's some factoid out there about spit having 'healing compounds' but you know what else spit has? LOTS OF BACTERIA. people get nasty tooth infections for a reason.
you don't need soap either. nor do you need iodine or hydrogen peroxide. if your wound is dirty enough that it needs soap, you should just go to the ER. soap will not stop a deep, rusty wound from giving you lockjaw.
you SHOULD rinse your wound with clean, lukewarm water. no pressure-washing, okay? just a gentle rinse. you can use soap to clean the area surrounding the wound, but don't put soap IN your wound. after rinsing, dab (don't rub) the wound dry.
a topical anti-bacterial (not anti-septic) cream or gel will do the heavy lifting in preventing infection. use a q-tip or clean fingertip to apply enough to completely cover the wound in a thin layer, then wrap it up.
wrapping:
band-aids are kind of a scam, yeah. they're okay on fingers. gauze is NOT a scam, though. the worst thing gauze can do is keep your wound too moist, but that's why it's reccomended to change the wrapping regularly. i prefer wrap gauze over pad gauze and bandaids. it's a bit excessive and makes me look like i just came out of the operating room over a papercut, but it's secure. if the gauze keeps falling off, replace it and wrap it better next time. sorry, that's just a skill issue. our limbs are mostly round and easy to wrap. anywhere you get gauze, you can also get gauze tape, which does what you think it does.
gauze holds the wound closed, keeps any medicine you applied in contact with the wound, and keeps dust and debris from the outside world away from the wound. use 2-3 layers of gauze directly applied to a clean wound and wrapped around the limb. just change it at least once a day. while you're changing the gauze, rinse the wound again and re-apply any topical anti-bacterial medicine. depending on the severity of the wound, you should only have to do this for a 3-5ish days. if there are signs of infection, it's a good idea to keep applying the medication every day even after you stop wrapping.
stopping bleeding:
the other main thing gauze does is stop bleeding. if the wound is deep or in a highly vascularized area, and the bleeding won't stop on its own, applying pressure with clean gauze will help. if it doesn't stop bleeding after a full five minutes of pressure, you're going to need to close the wound.
IF THIS IS SEVERE, I.E. IT IS GUSHING, THERE'S A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF BLOOD COMING OUT, IT'S SOAKING THROUGH MULTIPLE LAYERS OF GAUZE, YOU'RE GETTING WOOZY AND LIGHTHEADED, ETC. GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY.
deep tissue damage:
if it's just trickling some blood but it won't stop, it's likely not dangerous, only annoying. depending on the location, it's a good idea to assess if there could be any deep tissue damage, like a tendon, muscle, bone, nerves, or large vein. typically you'll be able to tell pretty quickly due to pain and loss of function. if you cut a tendon, for example, you'll lose mobility down the anatomical line. if you cut a nerve, there will be an electric burning sensation or numbness and loss of mobility. most of these structures move out of the way of a piercing cut, but a slicing cut can easily sever things. research what the signs of various types of deep tissue damage are so you can be prepared to report it to a medical team, because you're going to need to go the ER for that one too.
closing a wound:
if there's no deep tissue damage and you feel you can close this wound on your own, the first thing to try is binding. clean the wound, apply medicine if needed (might be difficult with trickling blood but just do your best), and just wrap the thing up with gauze. wrap it tight, not so tight that you lose circulation, but enough to stabilize the edges of the wound so they don't slip or seperate. this won't work if the wound is in a highly mobile area like near a joint, or in an area with tight skin that pulls away from itself, like over the shin bone.
the second option is superglue. this works best with short cuts, no longer than half an inch. it's a good idea to have medical grade superglue in your first aid kit, because it's formulated to be totally safe, but regular hardware superglue is essentially the same thing and will perform the same function, and a drop of it to close up a skin wound isn't going to hurt you. just don't drip it into your eyes, mouth, other holes and orifices, or directly into any open wounds. yes, i knew this for years before the veritasium video about it.
to use superglue to close a wound, first clean the wound and apply whatever medicine. if you can, a light tourniquet to slow down the bleeding might make it easier. i've used hairties on my fingers and shoelaces on my forearm. just don't make it tight. you just want to slow the bleeding enough to keep the wound clear for a couple seconds. the thing is, superglue will cure FASTER when it's in contact with blood (or water), and youre going to want a bit of working time.
position your joints so the skin around the wound is loose. apply a drop of superglue to the outside edge of one side of the wound. NOT inside the wound but as close to the edge as you can get it. it's honestly fine if a little bit gets into the wound. place a finger and thumb on either side of the wound, not touching the glue, and then just pinch it closed. hold it until it cures. clean the wound again with just water and check if the bleeding is contained. if you did it right, there shouldn't be any blood seeping out around the edges of the glue. if there is, it should stop pretty quickly. if it doesn't, apply another drop without pinching and let it cure on top of the wound.
third option for closing your wound is to learn how to suture. if you can sew, you have a leg up here. you don't need a medical degree to suture your own wounds, although if you do a bad job and go to the ER to get it redone, they might laugh or scold you. so this isn't difficult, nessecarily, but it's pretty advanced and it will take prior research and practice before anyone should be confident poking threads through their skin. i've never done this, i just stick to glue and gauze and those have worked fantastically for even really bad and bleedy cuts i've had.
go forth and deny, defend, depose. while you're at it, learn to grow veggies too

thinking about what foolish told ros after tango insulted her . how he swore he'd do whatever he could to make sure ros felt welcome and safe in the kingdom........ how devastating it would be for her to leave.... oh foolish where r u when we need you.......
Foolish: First of all, you're an absolutely invaluable member to the kingdom, and sure like, y'know. I think you and me might be in the same boat; I don't know if either of us are particularly vicious level 80 archmage warriors of the- of the nighttime terrors, okay? But that doesn't mean- that doesn't mean that like thats where all worth is. Foolish: All worth isn't just your ability to be able to fight and kill and set traps, okay? So, I don't want you to be thinking that way, uh, whatsoever. Uhm, in terms of Tango, I'm definitely gonna have to talk with him because it's one thing- even, even as a joke you can't be- can't be joking around saying some red faction member is more valuable than a- one of our- one of our literally starting members of the kingdom! Foolish: What, 'cause it was you, me, and Owen on that first fateful day and the first basically minutes, for some reason I said 'I'm gonna start a kingdom!' and for whatever reason, you and Owen decided to follow me. Ros: Yeah! Because we- we believed in you. As a king, y'know? Foolish: And with that loyalty, okay, I want to reward it. I want you to be able to continue believing in me. So I want to be able to make any steps to rectify any problems going on, and be able to figure out a way that you can feel happy and safe and feel like a valued member in the kingdom. Ros: Oh. Thank you so much, I appreciate that. Foolish: And I might need a little bit of time to, y'know, come up with the best solution to all this, but I do want you to know that I'm- it does weigh heavy on my mind. 'Cause I think it would be an absolutely devastating thing if- if you weren't happy in the kingdom, or let alone somehow, ended up not wanting to be a part of it anymore. [...] Foolish: And also, on a sidenote, I understand the value in your building. I know I don't really build much anymore, okay, but I understand the long hours, the constant place a block, remove the block, place another block, place it again, take 10 steps back look at it be like 'aw that's not right,' you go back do it all over again. Okay, I get all that okay? And, y'know, I think with any art you'll complete it, or keep working on it, and you'll never get all the props you deserve but just know, I know it's a lot of work. Ros: Thank you, thank you so much. Foolish: Mhm. And having a nice castle is a valuable thing in and of itself.
#saph speaks#the realm liveblogs#the realm smp#save#FOOLISH WE NEED YOU PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#and then he spent six hours with her oh my god foolish please u need to mend the relationships in your kingdom asap
