Why is there so many mementos of Daisuke ?

Something that intrigued me while playing the game was how Jimmy seems to only see stuffs reminding him of Daisuke death, at least in a mournful way. I was wondering why only him got respectful remorses when Jimmy is technically just as much responsible for the rest of the crew deaths ?

First we can eliminate Curly case because Jimmy relationship with him is on a whole different level compared to any other member of the crew.

Then we can also scratch Swansea out because if there is someone Jimmy won't feel sorry for, it's Swansea. He is the only one member perpetually going against him, the only one calling his bullshit out. After Swansea put an end to Daisuke suffering, we understand that Jimmy sees him as some crazy killing guy with an axe so maybe by killing him he even thought he did get rid of someone dangerous.

So now we are just left with Daisuke and Anya.

So why no Anya memorabilias ? We could say this is because he didn't directly killed her so he doesn't feel responsible for her death ? Yet he didn't directly killed Daisuke either. I would say from his point of view and how much he is not actually ready to take accountibility, it would be easier to pin Daisuke death on Swansea. This is where we are going for the "Jimmy is a sexist piece of shit" trope because it clearly shows that Jimmy doesn't make the connection between raping Anya and the distress that led her to kill herself, when his subconcious shows that he sees the link between sending Daisuke in the dangerous vent and his death. We can also add, as the youtuber Alleydreamer points out, that anything related to Anya in Jimmy's hallucinations, are only related to her pregnancy and the futur baby. This is not Anya though, this baby is something that Jimmy is a part of and this is why he cares about it on some level. Anya doesn't appear at all in this part of the game unlike the other crew members. There is not a single moment when he thinks of her as her own human being. There is also the tunnel part with the cards flying everywhere at the end of the game. We can see that the cards sticked to the walls with visible faces were only Jimmy, Daisuke and Swansea's. So no Curly because this is Curly, but we can see that anya face's is also always hidden ( The photos doesn't show it very good but I've checked ). To me, the fact that we are playing as Jimmy shows that this is not about him hating all the teammates that wronged him but about a profond indeference toward Anya. She doesn't even exist to him.

So to answer the question why so many Daisuke mementos it's because he's the only dead person that Jimmy can feel some kind of remorse toward because he didn't wrong him.... and he is not a woman. This is my conclusion.

tbh I find Caitlyn's use of the Gray really interesting not only as a form of chemical warfare, but of psychological warfare too. The way she deliberately designed the strike force uniforms to work in tandem with the Gray in order to mimic the appearance of a monster from Zaunite stories with very recent presence in Zaun's recent memory (it was only during Cassandra's lifetime that the Gray was "locked away") to evoke fear in ordinary Zaunites is so so crazy to me.

And Jinx REALIZED that!! that's (maybe.) WHY that showdown took place in front of a carving of Janna– she's using those stories (which likely evolved alongside one another) to frame her reaction to Caitlyn's crimes as a sort of divine retribution!

Caitlyn thinks Jinx is this terrifying monster of a girl, and while it's true Jinx has done some awful things, ever since the beginning of this season (arguably since after the timeskip, even) Jinx has been working in direct response to Caitlyn and Caitlyn's actions, whether or not either of them are truly aware of it.

thinking about how in s6 ep10 rick fell back so hard all bc his grandson that he cares for dearly called him boring.

how his thought process was "oh he thinks i'm boring so i'm not interesting. meaning i really have nothing of use to contribute anymore if not even my grandson can be entertained by me. did i ever contribute anything useful? i don't have control over how im perceived like i thought i did bc my grandson called me boring. my daughters are pissed at me, my granddaughter is likely tired of me, i've inconvenienced jerry bc i see myself in him (i think jerry is who rick was before he lost his og wife and daughter). for how long did morty feel like that??". how he was genuinely hurt that morty blatantly dismissed his feedback like that AND insulted him, and the insult actually had truth to it. which he knew. which probably hurt more.

how he then made an "idealized" version of himself to take care of his family that he believed would be able to provide them things he feels that he would never be able to give them and then isolated himself after that and knew nobody would notice and decided to pitch a tent in his own head.

how the fact that it resulted in rick spiraling and hyperfocusing (again) on avenging his dead wife and prioritizing that over everything else so much because at least he has control in how he feels in that situation. bc self isolation along with sitting in his own grief, shame, regret, and anger are what's familiar to him the most. how he is fully aware he could (and probably would) die in chasing prime and didn't care bc he probably thought his family wouldn't actually care if he died either, right? all because his grandson called him boring.

I really love the tit for tat and push and pull we're getting with Style and Fadel and the mirroring and flipping of their actions! There's so much tension and I love it! It took me a day or two, but I finally realised that it's even down to the way Style kneels (on one knee) between Fadel's legs at the gym mirroring how Fadel did that to him at the diner. These are the kinds of little details I'm a sucker for

i’ve never actually sat down and laid out why hawkeye was 100% right in preventative medicine apparently, i just went thru my season 7 tag and i just take it as read that we all agree he’s obviously right. so now i wanna do that.

So, despite how the ending is framed, Hawkeye isn’t trying to end the war by taking one colonel out of commission. What he’s specifically trying to prevent is this particular colonel defying orders and making a reckless, pointless attempt to capture a hill that would undoubtedly, as Lacey readily admits, get many men unnecessarily killed. As Hawkeye says, “You heard him. He’s gonna take those kids up that hill tomorrow and send them back to us in pieces.”

In taking out his appendix, he also causes Lacey to be taken off the front lines, and prevents even more reckless decisions down the road, at least for a while, which is effectively a bonus. He succeeded in his aim of preventing the deaths of many soldiers.

BJ thinks this is pointless because Hawkeye didn’t end all suffering in the world, apparently lol. “You treated a symptom. The disease goes merrily on.” BJ’s line of thinking assumes that all soldiers are interchangeable and saving one life doesn’t matter if another dies somewhere else.

All the specifics of their argument in the scrub-up room don’t really matter next to the main point there, but it’s also worth noting that BJ’s other objections are, “Cutting into a healthy body is mutilation,” “Some things are wrong and they’re always wrong,” and the guy who’ll replace the colonel might be worse. These are all bullshit objections. Hawkeye’s response to the mutilation accusation is kind of beside the point (plenty of doctors do unnecessary surgeries on people for money) when the real argument is “so what? better a mutilated colonel than a hundred dead soldiers” but he’s still technically right about that too lol, cutting into a healthy body isn’t always “mutilation.”

Hawkeye’s response to BJ saying it’s always wrong is “There are gonna be a hundred boys still alive tomorrow. Go tell them how wrong it is,” which is the perfect response to that kind of moral absolutism, no notes. And his response to the replacement colonel point is “So I’ll take them one at a time,” which is also the correct response. You can’t predict the future - if the next guy’s worse, Hawkeye will deal with the next situation that comes up in front of him in the best way he can. All you can do is focus on what practical steps you can take to mitigate harm here and now, and that’s what Hawkeye does. Plus considering Lacey is the battalion commander with the highest casualty rate of all, the odds are pretty good that the next guy won’t be worse.

The fact that the narrative backs BJ up by ending on Hawkeye’s guilt and BJ’s statement that the war continues (plus I’ve seen the writer directly state that Hawkeye’s action was pointless, somehow) is baffling to me lol, even ignoring the (forgotten by the writers) fact that Hawkeye and Trapper did the same thing to Flagg in season 2 and had a great time. Hawkeye accomplished his stated goal and saved a bunch of lives, and based on Hawkeye’s sound argument, the episode seems to understand that, until the end.

First project update:

I hated the way the fabric was laying (because I didn't believe in counting stitches at all), and I hated the shape. I've accepted early on that the only way to do good work is to get rid of bad work. This has probably taken me between 50-100 hours, and it took maybe half an hour to frog. I'm not angry about this, actually, and I was actually smiling most of the way through it. This is the only way to make good work, and I've learned that the hard way before. Why bother doing anything but good work?

Now does that make Guizhong an illuminated beast? Probably not. I think it's more likely that she is actually a Seelie, bearing the imagery of a phoenix due to Celestial association with birds.

I'm listening to Ashikai's video on Guizhong again from 2023's Lantern Rite, which is the first time since I've personally also gone rabid on the intense depth of Guizhong's moon references, the details of the Glaze Lilies and how similar they are to the Nilotpala Lotuses, and most importantly what that means. And listening to this again (and for those who happen to be curious, here's a link to her video which will have the above quote make sense, and I've timestamped it in case people want to skip past the run-through of Guizhong's lore and get to the extra-interesting stuff), so much just... clicks and works. I genuinely do think that Guizhong, at the very least, was a Seelie. But the implications of this, and the implications that I think might go beyond this. /shakes fist immensely, vigorously.

Thinking about Ghost Quartet and how it is a very real representation of generational female rage and especially thinking about the line:

And how in this moment Rose is not only angry at Pearl in the original timeline for the Astronomer, she's also angry as a daughter and a lover and a mother.
