today was just a nice day to yourself, walking around, shopping, eating, with only your own company. it was nice. at the end of the day you find yourself on a bench, infront of a cute park near your apartment with some lively kids screaming and playing. you smiled at the thought of of their youthfulness. it was still chilly, your cheeks and nose were flushed red from the air. some person sits down next to you, you don't pay them much mind, them probably being one of the children's parents, or just someone random.

"hey, y/n."

you stopped in your tracks, the familiar voice bringing back all the memories you shared with that voice. you glance back at the voice, secretly hoping it wasn't who you thought it was. god you hope it wasn't him. what could you even say to him, he scares you, the last memory isn't so fond. and yet, here he was, sitting next to you on this park bench. acting like nothing ever happened between the two of you.

you feel like you can't breathe anymore, "hello, suna."

suna laughs hesitantly, he's scared. it's weird to see this man be hesitant just to talk to you. "let's talk."

you blink at him, wondering if you heard him right, "talk?" you sigh, running your hands through your hair. "what else is there for us to talk about anymore?" your voice is quiet, barely above a whisper.

suna leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees and his hands on his cheeks. "you know i hate it when you say stuff like that y/n." his voice is quiet too. "i just want to talk, about us, about this park, about anything." he peaks back at you, his hands still on his cheeks and he tilts his head backward to get a glance at you.

you avoid his lingering gaze, you can feel his eyes scan every part of you. from your outfit to your face. "you look pretty, you always do." he smiles, his voice is just as beautiful as the day you met him.

"there's no us anymore and there is nothing for us to talk about anymore. i have a boyfriend. he makes me happy." suna's eyes narrow at your words.

"does he?"

"does he what?"

"make you happy."

you hesitate, your first thought would be to say yes, but it just won't come out.

"thought so."

you glare at him. "don't put words into my mouth rintarou. he makes me happier then you ever could." that was a lie.

"you're lying. why?" suna sits back up, his eyes locked on the view infront of you two.

you stay silent, unsure of what to say to him. "and how do you know i'm lying? you don't know my life."

"how could i not." suna laughs voidlessly. "i know everything about you, the things you do, how you start twirling your hair in awkward situations, how you avoid eye contact when you're scared, every single facial expression you make depending on the situation." suna sighs, his voice lowering. "i know everything about you."

"bullshit. you don't know anything about me. it's been too long."

"no it hasn't."

you don't know what to say anymore. silence and awkwardness fills up the space between you two. "why did you come and talk to me. you're the one who left. not me, you." your voice is shaky. "what the hell are you even doing back in tokyo."

"i never wanted to leave you." suna replies. "i had to."

"whatever. it doesn't matter anymore. it's too late. i don't even know why i'm talking to you." your legs tremble as you walk away. suna doesn't stop you.
