#artists on tumblr#been super busy all year#but trying to sketch some personal art sometimes too#there's so many pieces i want to make#but most of them are massive and will take a lot of time#if i vanish for a month just know i'm somewhere out there cooking#also just got my plane tickets to finland for this summer...#the prices are nuts but i need to go back at least once a year#to see my mom and my friends#as much as i hate flying#excited to visit a con this summer#the first one in many many years#just as a visitor#though it would be awesome to do artist alley one day

ART RAMBLES: as i mentioned on the tags of my last drawing this piece gave me SUCH a headache#i think it's probably cos it was just supposed to be a quick sketch so i used a more stable pencil brush#but then i really liked it so i decided to properly colour it instead of just doing the watercolour thing i usually do for sketches#but with finished pieces i like the lineart to be kinda messy and the sketch to even show through bit#and since i used the more stable brush for the sketch it ended up looking WAY too clean. not like my stuff at all.#so i just started throwing stuff at the wall to see what could make it more interesting. full background! actual lineart! texture layers!#and this here is what i was the happiest with. i don't... love it though. it should be looking way more interesting given the pose#and then i also did the purge girl halfway through this and it looked SO good right out of the bat (pun intended)#so i went a bit into a spiral. did some realistic stuff i'll post soon. and now am trying out a thick black lineart style.#(i'll definitely still use the coloured lines for the sketchy watercolour stuff though. it just looks way too cute)

A plushie manufacturer reached out to me a couple of days ago, asking if I would be interested in a collab with them and I of course said yes!
So many people have already made JayVik plushies inspired by the show, so I was thinking about having Jayce and Viktor plushies made based on my designs for the knight/prince AU.
Would you guys be interested in that?

Someone from the Nie sect started to clap.#A JGY moment that I don't see talked about enough: He absolutely wishes he could go candidly apeshit in court like WWX did.#He's too concerned with his reputation to risk it though. #pokemon#pokemon ruby and sapphire#hoenn#gen 3#flygon#aquanutart#i made this in the dead of winter a couple of years ago#after wanting for the whole year to enter the tcg illustration contest but i ended up working on something at the last minute as usual#i don't like competition but i enjoy having a reason to draw a pokemon with a lot of other people#i was waking up early before work to keep making progress on it but i thought i wasn't going to make the deadline#and when i had just decided i had done as much as i could and couldn't get it finished#i went out on that cold snowy day and on that day and that day only for some reason my car wouldn't start#we tried starting it with jumper cables but i'm not sure i know how to use them.. anyway i had to call someone and wait for them to come#i had to call in late to work and then i was waiting for two hours. which was just about enough time for me to keep working on this#i was able to submit it seconds before the deadline the next morning#and it's very cool to me that i was able to participate even though i didn't place (i'm actually glad i didn't place)#(because i would rather it go to someone who worked longer on their entry and/or started earlier before the deadline)#(i just wanted to join everyone in drawing a pokemon but i would prefer for it to just be its own thing and not compared to other pokemon)#this is partly why it's cool to me to have the tcg cards from the contest i also entered!#i chose to draw flygon because gen 3 is one of my favorites and i grew up in the desert and always wanted to imagine pokemon running around#that was the last era of my childhood before i moved and had to grow up where everything was new and different#for 12 years overseas i was homesick for this sun#i'm in a snowier place now but i see the sun even in winter so i'm happy!#since drawing this i appreciate and notice flygon a lot more! i always thought trapinch was very cute#i love the scene in twilight wings final episode when flygon is looking around and scanning; it's so cool#and because of this i got very excited to see flygon in the pokearth documentary flying like a dragonfly#i had wanted to imagine it landing a bit like a bug
