She'd barely even reached his side before the words crept through his teeth, and Kaz's ever-vigilant leer didn't falter from a sweep of the club surrounding them. Glasses clanked. Cards shuffled. Chips rattled. Wheels clicked. Nevertheless, Itsuki's voice still found a way to cut clear through the commotion. Try as Kaz did, he failed to fully ignore her.

At first, little more than a passing glance, a crack in his demeanor giving him away. But by the time Itsuki spun toward him with a beaming smile (What, expecting praise?), Kaz's focus had been pinned. He blinked slowly. A barely perceptible exhale skirted past his lips.

“Oh, now that depends,” he crooned, at that moment allowing the inklings of a smirk to cross his face. “Whose fragile life are we discussing? If it's that of a girl wandering places she shouldn't, then congratulations: you're absolutely right.”

A few days ago I was watching "The Princess and the Frog" and in the scene where Tiana and Naveen dance (still turned into toads) I couldn't help but think of Silver (as Tiana) and Sebek (as Naveen) dancing and in the background Malleus and Lilia as Louise and Ray

With Reader's brain cells basic dead at this point, lays on his stomach, resting his head on to Tim's stomach and wrapping his arms around Tim's waist. Ending up falling asleep, with Tim just trapped in his arms.

Headcanons

Been a while since i wrote something cute like this, so this was kinda refreshing.

Whether you were a fellow hero, a student, or just helping Tim with some kind of research, pulling all nighters was common. Pulling all nighters multiple days in a row was also common, you were very proud of how good you had gotten at staying awake for longer periods of time because of it.

But staying awake longer than 48 hours was hard, as that was the point where the body started performing at a lower level.

So, when you were hitting the 72-hour mark, you were seeing double, and could a barely feel your fingers, and you knew if you tried to stand up your legs would immediately give out under you and send you crashing to the floor.

Tim was more skilled than you at staying awake, so he at least was able to keep typing, even though you both knew it would be gibberish when you checked on it again later.

But even Tim seemed to be drooping, maybe that’s why he didn’t notice you placing your laptop down and shuffling towards him, until you flopped down against him.

Tim gave a small jump as your weight suddenly pressed down on him, making him lift his arm on instinct, giving you an in to crawl in closer to him, pushing him onto his back in the process.

Tim soon found himself laying down against the art rest of the couch, laptop in his hands as you laid your head on his stomach, your arms wound around his waist.

Your entire body felt like lead as you almost melted against Tim, head and limbs heavy as you sigh, letting yourself go limp and letting all your weight press down on Tims legs, trapping him there unless he used some of his hero training to kick you off, which he didn’t want to do.

You fall asleep almost immediately, not giving Tim a choice in being your pillow until you woke up. Not that Tim was complaining, since he had always kind of held a candle for you to some level.

But as you slept and Tim held the laptop above you, unable to place it down without bothering you, he realizes he can’t keep working either. So, with a sigh of defeat, he puts his laptop off to the side and wraps his arms loosely around you, rubbing your upper back.

The rubbing on your back only seems to make you melt even further against him, a soft content mumble leaving your lips as you snuggle deeper into the fabric of his shirt.

Having you sleep against him has Tim feeling giddy, but the 72 hours of no sleep is starting to catch up with him. And having you laying on top of him like some kind of sentient weighted blanket, sleep starts pulling at the edges of his consciousness, and Tim soon finds himself sinking into the comforting embrace of sleep.

The two of you sleep for a long time, as you are both so exhausted after going so long without sleep. The rest of the batfam knows not to bother someone when they are sleeping, as they sleep very little already, so they leave you two alone on the couch. Alfred does leave water bottles and snacks for when you wake up though.

Tims the first one to wake up, used to running on less sleep than you. In his groggy state, he cant help but run his fingers through your hair and caressing your face, just admiring you.

When you wake up, blinking up at him with sleepy groggy eyes, the confession of his feelings just seem to slip from him with no control, Tim barely conscious of his actions until after he’s already said it.

You chuckle a little as Tim blushes and sputters, trying to play it off as a joke. Its only when you scoot up to give him a soft kiss on his still rambling mouth that he seemed to quiet down, blue eyes wide as you lay down on top of him again, with your head on his chest this time.

“I like you too, now sleep, we both need it” you mumble, already out like a light again before Tim can fully comprehend what you had just said, his heart racing and a giddy smile on his face when it hits him.

Tim gives you a squeeze, but let you rest back against him when you mumble, displeased at being jostled like that as you try to sleep some more. A smile does twitch onto your lips when he kisses the top of your head and then your forehead, snuggling closer to you as he closes his eyes.

Maybe sleeping wasn’t so bad when you were with him, he could see himself enjoy it quite a lot actually. Those were the last thoughts he had before he drifted off again, still lacking a lot of sleep, and now feeling more at ease with you in his arms.

It's BOOK TIME again! It has been forever since I last bound a book wow.

This is Interim by @punishandenslavesuckers, which is a fantastic botw post-canon Link/Zelda/Ganon fic that you all should go read if you haven't already. It's great, go check it out. I stayed up way too late reading it.

The binding is a sewn-board binding, which means the cover stiffeners are sewn directly into the text block, instead of wrapped around and glued to the endpapers. This makes for a very tidy and modern looking binding, AND because the boards are doubled (sewn in like the endpapers) allows for fun shenanigans like that indented triforce.

I'm SO proud of how the triforce came out! I was really careful with all of my measurements and it really paid off.

Oh yeah and I finally found a place with a good guillotine, so now I can make SMALLER books and still have nice crisp edges. Look at it, it's such a cute size. Perfect for holding.

I like to think that Nik is a bit of a nerd himself, he feels like the kind of person to dabble in older, retro type video games. Like I feel that this man has a figurine collection, all in the box, mint condition, the works. So when he meets you and realizes that he FINALLY has someone else that he can talk about his interests with, he is over the moon!

He'll just be working on something, maybe some blueprints, maybe he's chatting with John about an upcoming plan. He'll ask you to sit there and tell him everything about that new game you got. Or the newest release from your favorite author. "I just adore the graphics, and the voice acting is amazing!"

"Sounds much better than your last purchase, you were distraught about that one."

"Oh, it's five times better, and this one was free too! I had to like fight fifty other people to try and download it when it released but it was so worth the lag, because-"

He might not always follow what you're saying, especially when you get really into your rambling about game mechanics and such, but he just loves hearing you so happy about something.

If you ever got him any kind of action figure or even something similar, he would actually potentially start crying because like... You got that for him??? You cared that much about him??? that makes him so happy, regardless of the fact that it was a bootleg version of one he already had, it's 100 percent the thought that counts. (Also the official one cost him like a small fortune, if you actually got him one, he would likely worry about your finances.)

He would be the type to cosplay cute little couples cosplays with you. Especially if it's something you both enjoy watching together, he might even be the one to suggest it in that case. Doesn't matter if it's halloween, comic con, or even just because you feel like it. He thinks that the idea is such a fun one, and he's never been able to do it before. Now that he can, there's no way he's gonna throw away the chance.

He probably met you when he was browsing through the game store that you worked at. Off duty, just looking to see if you had anything that he had yet to collect. (Which wasn't likely, but one could hope.) You were restocking the shelves and something caught his eye, although it wasn't the array of colorful plastic figures. It was the cute worker that had an armful of them. None of them were new, but he wasn't about to miss his shot to try and talk to you a little bit.

"Is there any new stock coming in?"

"Pardon me?"

"New stock, new figurines. I like to collect them, but I've already got the ones that the store has on the shelves." He explains awkwardly, thinking about backpedaling and just leaving.

"Oh! No, we don't have anything new, I don't think, sorry." You gave him that customer service smile, trying to be polite of course. Although you appreciate that someone comes here for something other than their child's gaming hobby. "Y'know, it's pretty impressive that you've collected all of those. We have a large selection, I can't imagine how expansive something like that would be."

He does a double take, his heart skips a beat for a moment. You're impressed? By him???

"Yes, I like collecting various pieces, this store is the best place to get them for a reasonable price..." the silence is incredibly uncomfortable, so he breaks it almost immediately. "Do you? Collect, I mean. Even just like cards or something similar?"

"No, my paycheck doesn't really allow for that. Although I have managed to harbor my video game addiction somehow." Your little joke makes him crack a smile and wow this guy is attractive...

"Really now? What do you play?" Maybe he would have to frequent this shop a little more often...

John probably dabbled a little bit in video games as a young man, before he enlisted, but he never considered himself the type that was worthy of the "nerd" title. He gladly listens to you though when you talk about the lore for Lord of the Rings for an hour straight. (don't ask him about anything you said the entire time, please...)

He's as supportive as the next guy, but he just does not understand the appeal of all those video games you play. In his mind, so many of them look repetitive. You scream at the screen more often than you seem to be enjoying yourself, even with the cozy games. He admires the dedication to the craft, but for fuck's sake, please step away from the keyboard. You look like you're going to snap it over your knee...

Books, however, he can get on with, same thing with movies. Newer ones, good old classics, doesn't matter. He's always down to sit and watch an entire movie marathon with you snuggled up next to him under a soft blanket. He doesn't mind, even when you start commenting on every little fun fact that you remember from the film documentary you watched a while back. "Did you know that the line right there was improvised by the actor? They thought it matched up with the character better than the original line." "Hm. I'd agree to that, mate knows the character better than the script does."

Takes you to game stores so that you can buy whatever you want with his credit card. What else is he going to be doing with everything he has sitting around from working in the SAS? Don't even worry about it, he wants you to be happy and what better way to show affection than getting you that limited edition signed copy you wanted?

He'd regularly take you out on movie dates, just to have an excuse to sneak kisses in the back row during the fight scenes because nothing important happens during those. Kissing down the side of your neck while the main character fights some minor side character, you're trying to focus on the screen but you can't help leaning into his touch just a little bit.

"John..." "mmh?" "What're you doing?" "Nothing... Just keep watchin' love. Someone's gotta watch and tell me what happened later."

Menace to the rest of the theatre, best hope it's a late viewing or something, because man isn't all that worried about being seen. Is it a crime to show some affection in public? He thinks not. You better get home before he decides that he wants a lil more than affection-

Honestly, he has no clue what the hell you're on about most of the time. Like he tries his best, but all he hears is utter nonsense. Not to say he doesn't listen, because he does, he straight up memorizes what you say, even if he doesn't know what it is. He won't ever tell you, but if he has extra free time, he tries to research and watch/read whatever it is that you love so much.

Sometimes he finds it intriguing, so much so, that he becomes a bigger fan of it than you are. (Low key what happened when you introduced him to farming games, man is an absolute beast at cozy games now and you're not sure whether you're proud or jealous of how much better his island is than yours in Animal Crossing.

"How did you get apples!? No fair!" "It's called being good at something, love."

Stares at you sideways if you ask him to play a FPS with you, like "I literally play that for a living, why would I do that?".

Lets you cozy up in his lap while you read your latest fantasy novel, nodding along when you make comments about what's happening in the chapter. He's not listening, he's too busy staring at you and thinking about how much he loves you, but cut the guy some slack, you're prettymuch giving him footnotes about a book he doesn't read.

Comments about the realism of the previously mentioned FPS when you play them. It'd be funny if you weren't in the middle of a ranked match while he was ranting.

"What are those muppets doing?" "trying to kill me, Si." "They're doin' a shit job of it. A proper waste of ammo." "Yeah, well, I'll let em know that."

Just about died when he saw you in cosplay of one of your favorite characters, stared at you with those big ass eyes and asked you kindly what the fuck you were wearing.

"It's cosplay, Simon. Like a costume?" "You look..." "Watch yourself, Riley." "Unique. Why again, are you wearing this?" He looked you up and down, holding his tongue surprisingly well. "Because it's fun, Simon. It's a character I really like, and I made most of this myself." You gave a slow turn so that he could see all of the detail and hard work you had put into the clothing. "Not sayin' it doesn't look good, just sayin' you look proper strange in a getup like that."

Bro says this all like he doesn't run around on the field in a skull mask like some edgy middle schooler. He means well, and afterwards, he'll admit that you looked plenty nice and you clearly worked hard on it. But don't just walk up on him like that.

Honestly? Raven’s first reaction is to laugh. Really, really hard. It’s funny to her.

When her giggles fade away, though, she’s all smiles and sparkles, as Raven tends to be.

“Aw, isn’t that adorable, Chief? Looks like you’ve got a chick all of your own, now!” She will keep making comments like this, and god knows that neither Chief nor Hella will be able to stop her.

As something of a mom herself, not to mention a teacher, Raven likes to give Chief “parenting tips” from then on out. Some of them are a little silly. Some are things that Chief already knew. And other things are complete godsends that Chief has no idea what she’d do without.

Also, if she wasn’t inspired to write parenting help books before, she is now. As with most of Raven’s self-published textbooks, they fall into the category of “surprisingly useful but lacking in professionalism.” Still, Raven’s advice certainly won’t hurt a child… but Chief nevertheless figures it’s best not to mention how helpful the book actually is.

Raven also definitely drags Chief into chats about their kids. She’s a proud mama bird and will brag about Crache and her achievements until the cows come home. Naturally, she’s also incredibly supportive and proud of Hella, too – she’s her teacher, after all!

She will also absolutely prod Chief into accepting the title of “mother” to other kids in the Bureau. Hecate, Oliver, Dolly, OwO, Yanyan, Lynn, you name it and she’s already assigned the role of “Chief’s kid” to them. Good thing Chief had pretty much already accepted that role!

She also makes jokes that Chief can be Crache’s stepmom from time to time. Crache hates it. Raven’s kids, when they find out, won’t shut up about it. It definitely fuels the Raven x Chief gossip train that’s going on in her class.

Zoya

After the shock fades, the first thing Zoya feels is… warmth. She feels warm and fuzzy inside.

At first she has absolutely no idea why she’s feeling like this, and it baffles her. Okay, Chief didn’t care that Hella called her mom, that’s cool, why is it making her feel all weird inside?

It takes a few days for it to click with Zoya that what she’s feeling is affection. Seeing the Chief be accepted into a maternal role, caring for a young Sinner, made Zoya feel affectionate towards her.

Okay, great, she figured out what the weird feeling was, but Zoya still doesn’t understand the why. She thinks to her own life as a point of reference. Sure, Horo looks up to her as a role model, but Zoya always saw herself as a big sister/mentor figure to her, not so much a mother.

The answer, when it finally comes to her after another few days of dwelling on it, hits her like a bolt of lightning. It completely freezes her in her tracks as she tries to process the realization she just had: she felt affection because the Chief behaving motherly towards Hella? She found it cute.

Frankly, this realization opens a whole can of worms that Zoya is not emotionally equipped to face right now, so she seals that can right back up. But some things can never be fully repaired to the way they once were, and well, Zoya tries to comfort herself by thinking that surely she isn’t the only person who thinks of the Chief in such a manner. Surely.

Hella

Hella is, in a word, mortified. It was embarrassing enough that she’d accidentally called Chief mom, and it was even more embarrassing that Chief had accepted it so easily!

She still tries to play it off as an accident or a joke, though. She would rather the ground open up and swallow her than be seen as Chief’s daughter for real! Besides, she’s a proud, independent Syndican who relies on herself. She doesn’t need a mother!

…And yet… there is that tiny part of her, that part of her that made the slip-up in the first place. The part that she hates. That part of her that is still a terrified little girl, who wants nothing more than the comfort of a maternal figure. No matter what Hella tries, she can’t fully deny that that part of her exists.

…but Ninety-Nine is the only family she needs, so the idea that Chief is a mother to her is ridiculous, and anyone who ever believed that crap is stupid!

But… the slip-ups happen more and more often, and each time, Chief takes it in stride. Every time, it makes Hella burn with embarrassment, but as time goes on, she begins to realize that… hey, this isn’t so bad.

Of course, she still has her pride. She’ll never openly admit to see the Chief as a mother in a public setting. But in private… Well, maybe then it’s okay to willingly call the Chief “mom,” and to cling to her for comfort after a nightmare and to otherwise be vulnerable around her.
