Nothing more annoying than seeking the right sensation all day then going to play on a swing at night while listening to a specific song and the brain being like yep that’s what I was looking for. Bitch you told me you were looking for a taste.

It is very frustrating to me that I had such a good day yesterday. I was only nauseous a little. I had so much fun. But today I felt horrible for most of the day. I don't understand why. I could barely function. But I also couldn't sleep. Like I wanted to take a nap or something but instead I just sadly spent the whole day in bed. It was rough.
I tried to still have some nice parts of the day. I didn't sleep amazing. Just couldn't be the right temperature and woke up a ton to use the bathroom. I had planned on sleeping late but I forgot to turn off my alarm. I would still lay in bed until 9 but it was fine.
James came and spent some time with me just resting. I decided that I wanted shredded hashbrowns but that would not end up working out. That's alright. We would still go out for brunch.
I was not having the best time this morning but I was trying to be positive. It was beautiful outside and I liked my outfit. I was having a nice time being with James.
We would head to the Broadway diner so we could go to Home Depot after. And it was nice having breakfast together. James got a toasted blueberry muffin and scrapple. And I got a spinach and cheddar omelet. But they didn't have shreddy hashbrowns Soni got French fries instead and would share them with James.
And it was a really good breakfast and I was in such a good mood eating. I sometimes get in this almost euphoric space eating but it ends really quickly and then I feel bad. It's wild how quickly the swing happens.
I would stop eating before I started feeling to bad though. Got half the omelet and toast boxed to have for dinner later.
While we were sitting there we discussed groceries and what we needed from Home Depot. We wanted to get a shelf and brackets for over the washer and dryer. And I wanted to get curtain rods for the backroom. We had a few other things in the list that we wouldn't have any luck finding. But it was still a successful trip.
We were both surprised that they had all the Christmas stuff out. It isn't even Halloween yet!! Where are the skeletons??? Ridiculous.
After we got our things we walked through the garden center. I want to get window boxes for our front and do a small garden in the front next year. Do seasonal flowers out front. I think it will be really nice. James put up the mini pumpkins above our door. And I honestly think I want to put more. The 4 don't look full enough. But I'm excited that we can use that shelf for decor.
I was not feeling great. I had done my best while we were in the store but I really wanted to go home. We would make one more stop for gas. I did my best to hold it together. And soon we were home.
When we got back here I almost immediately went to lay down. James would start moving some stuff around for projects later. But I would just slowly start to fall apart.
James would go down to the harbor to kayak for a while. I sort of wanted to go but I didn't think I could handle it. I just got in bed and waited for James to be home.
Sweetp would join me. I would just start feeling worse and worse. Almost dizzy. I didn't recognize my eyes when I would catch them in the bathroom. It's pretty distressing honestly.
I wanted to sleep. But I didn't. I just laid in bed and watched videos. Sipped water. Tried to be okay.
When James got home they would shower and then jumped into projects. Hanging the curtain rods. Starting to put up wallpaper. They suggested me wearing my waist squeezer. I have found wearing it high on my ribs does help a little. It was the best I felt all afternoon. But eventually I would still take it off.
I went and laid on the couch in the baby room to watch James work on the wallpaper. Just picturing how it will be next year. How it might be when we do some construction and take down walls and add a balcony. It's nice to look towards the future.
I would go downstairs and had apple cider and laid on the swing out back. James came and sat with me. Eventually they went inside to play videogames. And once I was to uncomfortable I would come lay on the couch with them.
They warmed up leftovers for me. They had pasta. I tried not to be miserable but I was just having a terrible time. The evening worn on with not much improvement.
I put together outfits for the week. I laid in bed. I had a snack. James came and hung out with me. I would take a shower and washed my hair. I threw up again. Not a lot but it continues to be be distressing. But really now I'm just exhausted.
I have a double shift tomorrow. I have a field trip at camp and then I'm an educator at the museum. I really really hope it is a good day. I hope the hike it nice and that the art project is good. And I just really hope it's a fun day and I don't feel like I did today. That would not be very fun.
I hope you all sleep well tonight. I'm going to sip water and try to get comfortable. I love you all. Good night!

A few months ago I was complaining to my mom that family restaurants and other cheaper food places here had gone all fat all the time. Everything is fried, everything is meat-based. Hard to find any vegetables at all on a lot of the most common menus.
The yen tanking and issues related to covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war really drove places to cut back, increase prices while offering less overall. But the absence of vegetables was stunning to me. Talk to anyone, in Japan or out, and they'll say oh, the Japanese diet is so healthy. And even though we're talking about eating out, which is considered special and you don't necessarily expect the same dishes you'd make at home, people would really be surprised, I think, by how hard it was just to find even veggie sides. (This is restricted to the cheaper places, especially chain restaurants that like to keep costs low - if you go out to eat at a real restaurant-y restaurant in Japan I feel confident that you'll never be disappointed.) Japanese food is about color and balance, and for a very long time that extended to youshoku as well. That's one reason why when you go out for something like tonkatsu, you always get cabbage, and probably miso soup and Japanese pickles as well.
A few years before covid, I feel, is when I started to see things change. Maybe the expectation of so many foreigner tastes arriving for the Olympics played a part too, idk. But I remember Yoshinoya, a fast food gyudon chain, used to have a delicious curry with carrots, onions, and potatos - cheap vegetables commonly found in Japanese curry. Then they got rid of it and have just the roux with meat now. And most places that do takeout curry are the same these days. One exception is Matsuya, which now has a "My Curry" off-shoot that lets you customize with veggie options. A while ago they were doing a veggie-heavy curry that I loved, but was only seasonal :( Probably because of the price of vegetables. But at least the usual onion/potato/carrot seems here to stay. But even curry-centric places like Cocoichi don't do much with veggies. Cocoichi's veggie curry is like a kid's curry, bits of carrot, potato, and green beans. There's a spinach option and an eggplant option too, but to me they're still just so uninspired. I don't really like Cocoichi curry though so that's probably part of it. It's a shame because curry is a GREAT way to get kids (and adults who've never developed a taste for veggies) not just to eat veggies, but to learn to like them. It worked for me - I definitely wish my parents knew about the magic of curry when I was little, because I don't really blame my younger self for getting sick of microwaved frozen cauliflower and baby carrots.
Anyway - all that to say, recently I've been noticing veggies making a comeback! Yoshinoya didn't bring back it's veggie curry, but it's got some salad options, including a gyudon that comes with veggies mixed in. (Which I might try tonight.) I've been noticing it other places too, especially convenience stores. Lawson and 7-11 have been boasting about their healthy options for years, but these past months I feel that I've begun to see variety and thought for nutrition that was pretty absent before. I wonder if prices for vegetables have gone down, or if restaurants just noticed that everyone was selling the same brown or beige food options with very little flavor differences. I'm happy, because it felt like a pretty important part of Japanese food culture was wasting away, and it's such a healthy and pretty to look at part. Yeah, it was just the chain restaurants, but the loss starts when major groups of people get priced out of values that used to be available to all. I hope Japanese food, whether it's traditional or Western, continues to value balance and color no matter how many people insist they really just want red meat and fried stuff.

I think Tumblr ate my other post, so here's the short and sweet version above the cut:
January 2022:
*literally* every single week, every price-change night, grocery prices are going up.
There's four weeks in a month and that means grocery prices are going up at least 4x every month.
If you have the means, please consider stocking up on the staple foods of your households.
Don't clear the shelves or anything, but if you can, try to invest in a chest freezer (we got one for $200 a few years ago, you might be able to find them cheaper used), and maybe start grabbing an extra loaf or two of bread, and extra box or two of butter, and putting the extras in the freezer.
Stock up on staples that you know you will use.
Start buying the big boxes of instant oatmeal.
Start buying the big bags of rice.
Start buying big bags of the different kinds of dried beans (these can also be used as seeds to grow your own in the garden! Simply plant directly in the grown after your last frost, popping them in the soil and covering lightly)
Stock up on potatoes, and onions, and look up the best ways to store them (seperate from each other!) So rhat they last for months; if they start to sprout, you can plant them in containers. (Potatoes will grow more potatoes, while onions will grow greens and eventually flower and set seed that you can plant at the correct time for your zone.)
Stock up on sweet potatoes. (Cut the end off of one while you're prepping them and sit it propped up in a glass of water. It will send down roots and send up shoots-- once the shoots are long enough, gently break them off the sweet potato peice and plant directly, or stick into water to root further before transplanting.
.Sweet potato leaves can be eaten like spinach, and the vines if left to spread over the ground as they grow will root and form even more sweet potatoes.
Though they both have "potato" in the name, sweet potatoes and regular potatoes are completely seperate species and you should *never ever* eat the plant section of a potato plant.
If you are lucky enough to have your potato plant flower, hand pollinate it, let it set *inedible* fruit, and save the seeds when the fruits are fully ripened. Again, do not eat the fruit, it's poisonous-- but you now have TPS, or true potato seed. Clean it, dry it for a few days with a light fan, and store in a cool dark place like your other seeds. You can now grow your own unique potato varieites next year and save the tuber's of any that turn out well to clone them in the traditional way)
If your fridge is actually organized, you can stock up on apples that are on sale and store them in the fridge-- many of the newer varieites such as Cosmic Crisp and Envy are bred for storage; CC can last up to 6 months in the fridge with proper storage.
Stock up on canned foods your family actually likes, as well as canned goods such as "cream of" soups that can be mixed with rice to create a flavorful meal.
Stock up on ramen noodles-- not much, but it's something, and a hot meal even in the poorest of times. Grab spices and seasonings to refresh your pantry so you can jazz up even simple meals.
If the garden center in your local grocery store is set up, get your seeds early and learn when to plant them in your area, and how to save seeds from what you grow so you don't need to buy seeds again.
If your tap water isn't good (aka like 90% of Americans) stock up on gallons of water, as well as flavoring packets to make the tap water more palatable.
If you drink coffee, get at least one container of instant coffee, and a container of powder creamer if you usually use liquid.
Stock up on frozen meats that are still relatively cheap compared to their fresh counterparts, or buy fresh meat when it is on sale and freeze it, taking steps to prevent freezer burn. Meat prices are going up around a dollar per pound (or more!) each week that I have done the price changes on fresh meat.
Again, don't clear out the shelves, and I'm not trying to panic anyone.
But I work in a grocery store, and every single week I am watching prices go up over and over again.

Chapter 5.) In The Still Of The Night.
In the still of the night.
I held you.
Held you tight.
'Cause I love.
Love you so.
Promise I'll never.
Let you go.
In the still of the night.
As she slept peacefully in her new bed, Naia dreamed that she was running through the forest. She felt strong. She felt invincible. She could feel the wind on her face as she ran. It was exhilarating. She felt free. When she came out of the woods, she was a wolf. And when she looked up, she saw him. It was the wolf she had seen in her dreams before. It was him. When he howled she did the same.
That’s when she woke up. She sat up in bed, panting with her heart thundering in her chest. She looked around her room in order to get her bearings. That’s when something compelled her to look out her bedroom window. And when she looked out the window she saw a wolf staring up at her. When she shook her head, the wolf was gone. The image of the wolf was still in her head when she went back to sleep.
After waking up later that morning and taking a good hot shower, Naia couldn’t get Roman out of her head. She wanted to feel his arms wrapped her again. He was seductive and mysterious and she wanted more. She could still feel his warm breath on her neck and the closeness of his body to hers. She thought it was insane but never actually questioned why she thought that way.
When she went to the kitchen for breakfast, she noticed a note on the counter. It was from her uncle.
“Good morning. Gone fishing. Be back later. Help yourself to whatever is in the fridge. Uncle Z.”
When she opened the fridge, she grimaced because there wasn’t much in there to begin with. When her stomach rumbled she knew she had to change that.
“Okay well since a home cooked breakfast is out of the question. I think I’ll try the breakfast place I saw when I drove into town. Also I’ll do some grocery shopping while I’m at it. Because this right here ain’t hitting on nothing.” She thought to herself.
With keys and wallet in hand Naia set off for town. After shopping at Banner’s Family Market, she was just about starved and stopped by Tucker’s diner.
Tumblr media
After getting a table she sat down and looked over the menu. As she looked over the menu, someone was watching her. Or so it looked that way.
I remember.
That night in May.
The stars were bright above.
I'll hope and I'll pray.
To keep.
Your precious love.
At another table, Trent was eating breakfast with a few members of his team when Naia walked in. He felt a pull towards where she was sitting.
“Yo T! What is it?” Jenkins, one of his team members asked.
“I don’t know. Something weird just happened. Like she just walked in.” He replies shaking his head.
“Man! Please tell me that you’re not talking about that so-called dream girl again!” Sergei said to him.
“If you must know, yes I am.”
His crew collectively groaned.
“Dude it’s been almost a whole 2 months! Let it go already!” Hugo told him.
“As I’ve told you idiots before: I can’t.”
“Can’t or won’t? Which one is it T?” Jenkins asked him.
Trent never answered. He just sipped his coffee. Even though he’s blind he could feel her presence. After going over the menu for a solid 20 minutes, Naia decided on the Lobster Eggs Benedict and a sweet tea. Just as she was about to put her order in, Layla walked in.
Tumblr media
“Layla! Over here!” She called out to her new friend.
Trent nearly dropped his cup of coffee. Hearing her voice in real time both scared and excited him.
“You almost dropped your cup. You okay man?” Jenkins asked him.
“Huh? Yeah! I’m…I’m good.” Trent replied, while trying to hide the crack in his voice. With his hearing being better than most, he tuned into her conversation
“Hey! What are you doing here?” Layla asked Naia as she sat down across from her.
“Since my uncle has gone fishing, I decided to do some grocery shopping and I was starving so here I am. What are you and the little one up to?” Naia replies.
“The same thing as you. Have you ordered yet?” Layla asks.
“Just about to. What about you?” Naia replies.
“Oh girl! They already know what I want. A pitcher each of cranberry juice and ice water, their triple berry cheesecake parfait, double blueberry pancakes and a ham, spinach and swiss omelette.” Layla replied.
Naia’s eyes went wide.
“You’re actually gonna eat all of that?!” She asked.
“I mean…I am eating for two, ya know?” Layla replied, rubbing her belly. The two shared a laugh as they continued their conversation.
Trent turned his attention back to his team just as the twins came strolling in. His boss Bernard Sayre is a blowhard who only cares about 3 things. Making money, being powerfully unstoppable and his twins Dylan and Tyler. The twin terrors as they’re known around town, just love getting their way no matter what they do or say. And although it annoyed Trent, he was powerless to stop them.
“Heyyyyy boys!” Dylan called out to Trent and his team. Her voice sounded like banshee screech.
“And here comes daddy’s two brats…” Jenkins groaned as the twins approached.
“So what are you guys up to?” Tyler asked.
“We’re eating. Why?” Trent asks.
“Because we were hoping that you’d join us at Buck’s for the Friday night sing a long and pool.” Tyler replies.
“You’d have to ask Layla if we’re allowed back in. Especially after what happened the last time.”
The twins groaned.
“Well she’s sitting at a table with some girl. So I guess it’s worth a shot.” Dylan said with a sigh.
Naia watched in amusement and shock, as she watched Layla polish off everything she ordered with ease.
“I can not believe that you ate EVERYTHING!”
“Told you!” Layla replied as she swiped her finger on the inside of her parfait cup.
“Uhhhhh Layla…”
“Huh?” She asked.
“It’s all gone! Put the cup down!” Naia replies.
The two laughed as the twins approached.
“Hiiiiiiiiiii Layla!” They say in unison causing Layla to groan.
“Ohhh and hi Layla’s friend!”
“What do you two want?” She asked the twins.
“Weeeeeellllllllllll…we were hoping you’d let us have Friday sing a long and pool.” Tyler said in a cloyingly sweet voice.
“After the shit you pulled the last time? NO!” Layla hissed at them.
“Come on Layla! Our dad paid for the damage!” Tyler whined.
“Yeah he did…after I threatened to sue his sorry ass!”
“Please!” The twins begged.
Layla rolled her eyes then replied, “fine! You can come tonight.”
“Thank you!” The twins squealed.
“Whatever. Go away!”
“You don’t have to be rude!” Dylan said.
“Which would you rather: me be rude or me ban you two from ever stepping foot into MY bar?” She asked them.
The twins stood stuck.
“I thought so. Now again: go away!”
The twins turned on their heels and stomped away. When they were far enough away for her pleasure, Layla turned her attention back to Naia.
“Sorry about that.”
“Who are they?” Naia asks.
“Tyler and Dylan Sayre. Their dad Bernard owns Sayre Energy and Power. They’re a public nuisance.” Layla replies.
“They look harmless to me.”
“That’s because you haven’t been around them when they’re drunk.”
“Touché.”
“I guess since they’re having Friday sing a long and pool, you should come too.”
“Me?” Naia asks.
“Yes you! It’ll be fun as long as those two aren’t drinking.” Layla replies.
“I don’t know about all of that.”
“Also there’s normally a $1,000.00 cash prize for first place.”
“Why didn't you lead with that?!” Naia asks.
“Because Dylan normally wins because no one wants to challenge her.” Layla replies.
“Well as someone who’s still paying off student loans: Count me in!”
So before the light.
Hold me again.
With all of your might.
In the still of the night.
So before the light.
Hold me again.
With all of your might.
In the still…of the night.
That night at Buck’s the party was in full swing. People were dancing, drinking, playing pool and mingling amongst themselves. Naia stuck close to the bar and Layla as they watched the crowd. And like clockwork, Dylan was drunk and ready to sing her heart out.
“Alright you party animals! Let’s get this sing a long on the road! Now all of you know the rules. First place gets $1,000.00! And since that first place is always me I have nothing to worry about! So hit the music!”
“Ohhh God…” Layla groaned.
“What?!” Naia asks.
“Little Miss Banshee is about to assault our ears and sing Deborah Cox Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here.” Layla replies.
“It can’t be THAT bad, Layla.”
“Wanna bet?” She asks just as Dylan grabbed a mic.
After clearing her throat, Dylan began to sing. Sorta.
How did you get here?
Nobody's supposed to be here.
I tried that love thing for the last time.
My heart says "No, no." Nobody's supposed to be here.
But you came along and changed my mind.
I've spent all my life on a search to find. The love who'll stay for eternity. The heaven sent to fulfill my needs. But when I turn around, again, love has knocked me down. My heart got broken, oh it hurts so bad. I'm sad to say love wins again.
So I placed my heart under lock and key. To take some time to take care of me. But I turn around and you're standing here.
How did you get here? Nobody's supposed to be here.
I tried that love thing for the last time.
My heart says "No, no." Nobody's supposed to be here.
But you came along and changed my mind.
This time I swear I'm through. But, if only you knew how many times I've said those words. Then fall again, when will I ever learn? Knowing these tears I cry, this lovely black butterfly. Must take a chance, and spread my wings. Love can make you do some crazy things.
So I placed my heart under lock and key. To take some time to take care of me. But I turn around and you're standing here.
Standing here…
When Dylan got to the bridge, Naia thought her ears would bleed out.
No, nobody, no, no, no, no, no, no, ooh!
No, no, nooooooooo...
How did you get here? Nobody's supposed to be here I tried that love thing for the last time.
My heart says "No, no." Nobody's supposed to be here.
But you came along and changed my mind.
How did you get here? Nobody's supposed to be here.
I tried that love thing for the last time.
My heart says "No, no." Nobody's supposed to be here.
But you came along and changed my mind.
When she was done, Naia was ready to run out the door screaming.
“Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyy God! That was fucking horrible!”
“Told you.” Layla deadpanned.
“She has to be stopped! What other songs are on that karaoke machine?” Naia asks.
“Hundreds! So if you’re gonna sing, pick one and make it good! That way ears will stop ringing.” Layla replies.
Naia left her seat at the bar and walked over to where the karaoke machine was and went through the list of songs. Doing so, caught the ire of a very drunk Dylan.
“Ummmmmm what do you think you’re doing?!” She asks.
“Picking a song obviously.” She replies over her shoulder.
Dylan huffed.
“You actually think you can beat my melodious voice?” She asks.
“A dead horse can beat your voice. And just like that I found my song.” Naia replies.
“Good luck beating me!” Dylan sneered.
“Watch and learn young grasshopper.”
Naia took the mic and began to sing Give Me One Reason by Tracy Chapman.
Give me one reason to stay here. And I'll turn right back around. Give me one reason to stay here. And I'll turn right back around. Said I don't want to leave you lonely. You got to make me change my mind.
Baby I got your number. Oh and I know that you got mine. You know that I called you. I called you many times. You can call me baby. You can call me anytime, you got to call me.
Give me one reason to stay here. And I'll turn right back around. (You can see me turnin') Give me one reason to stay here. And I'll turn right back around. (You can see me turnin') Said I don't want to leave you lonely. You got to make me change my mind.
I don't want no one to squeeze me. They might take away my life. I don't want no one to squeeze me. They might take away my life. I just want someone to hold me. Oh and rock me through the night.
People started to gather around Naia as she sang. When she looked towards the bar, she winked at Layla. Layla mouthed the words “next drink is on the house.”
This youthful heart can love you. Yes and give you what you need. I said this youthful heart can love you. Oh and give you what you need. But I'm too old to go chasin' you around. Wastin' my precious energy.
Give me one reason to stay here. Yes and I'll turn right back around. (You can see me turnin') Give me one reason to stay here. Oh I'll turn right back around. (You can see me turnin') Said I don't want to leave you lonely. You got to make me change my mind.
Baby just give me one reason. Oh give me just one reason why. Baby just give me one reason. Oh give me just one reason why I should stay. Said I told you that I loved you. And there ain't no more to say.
When she finished the applause was thunderous. She had everyone on their feet. When she looked out on the crowd, she saw a visibly angry Dylan. Naia smirked and winked at her, which further infuriated her.
When Naia walked back to the bar, she got the feeling someone was watching her but she didn’t know who that someone was.
“Soooooo…how was that?” Naia asked Layla as she reached the bar.
“AMAZING! Now if you can beat her brother at pool, the bar is on the house.” Layla replied.
“Sold!”
“Well get to it girlie! Because you’ve been eyeing that bottle of tequila over my shoulder since you got here.”
Naia snickered then took off towards the crowd gathered around Tyler. As she went to WB w the crowd was she got the same feeling that she was being watched. And she was indeed being watched. Trent was tuned into her movements even through his blindness.
“Well this looks like fun!” Naia says as she reaches the pool table.
“Go away! Nobody wants you here!” Dylan hissed.
“What’s the matter princess? Scared I’ll beat your brother like I beat you?” Naia teased.
“You can’t beat me!” Tyler huffed.
“Wanna bet?” She asked him.
“Sure. How much are you willing to lose?”
“Since I beat your sister:  $1,000.00.” She replies. She didn’t think he’d take her seriously.
“You’re on! Best 2 out of 3?” He asks.
“Then you’ve got yourself a game.” She replies.
Once the balls were lined up and it was up to her to break. She got stripes while he got solid.
“Let’s go!” She tells him.
The two were evenly matched with the first game going to her and the second going to him. And it all came down to the last game. Naia had an impossible split. Or so that’s what Tyler and the crowd that was gathered around them thought.
“I’ll make you a deal new girl. If you bank this shot, I’ll up the bet from $1,000.00 to $3,000.00.” He said to her.
“Deal!” Naia replies.
Naia tucked a hair that out of place behind her ear, lined up her shot and sank both balls. Beating a very stunned Tyler.
“TAKE! THAT!” She squealed.
“But! But! I…we…” Tyler stammers as he goes pale.
“You lost just like your sister? Yeah I know. Now pay up!” She told him.
That’s when Dylan jumped into Naia’s face.
“You cheated!” She screeched.
“No, your brother ran his mouth and lost. And now he has to pay up. So give me my money!” Naia yelled back.
When Dylan reared back to slap Naia, Trent caught her hand.
“Hey! Let go T!” Dylan yelled.
“We’re not doing this again. Now Tyler pay the lady her money. You know you have it.” Trent said in a stern voice.
There was something about him that caught Naia’s eye.
“My dad will kill me if I pay her!” Tyler whined.
The twins looked at Trent with puppy dog eyes. But he didn’t budge.
“You’re no fun, T!” Tyler whined.
“Don’t care. Now pay her!”
Tyler groaned as he pulled money out of his pocket then handed it to Trent.
“Here!” Tyler pouted.
Trent took the money and handed it to Naia. When their hands touched, it set off a spark inside her. The same kind of spark she felt with Roman.
“Sorry about those two. They don’t know how to lose gracefully.” He said to her.
“Don’t worry about it. Thanks for getting my money.” She replied.
Trent turned to the twins then said, “beat it you two! We don’t need anymore trouble.”
The crowd dispersed after the twins huffed then walked out. And Naia found herself back at the bar gushing with Layla.
“Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyy God! Look at this! I just won $3,000.00!”
“I can't believe you did that! No one has ever beaten the twins. Their dad will be so pissed that they lost that kind of money.”
“In the words of T.I. ‘it ain’t tricking if you got it!’”
They two laughed.
“Okay but in all seriousness, thank you! It’s about time that someone brought those two out of the clouds. So here’s your brand new shiny bottle of tequila!” Layla said as she gave Naia the bottle.
“Thank youuuuuu!” Naia squealed.
Just then Trent called out.
“Layla! Another round?”
Layla groaned and rolled her eyes.
“Who is that?” Naia asked.
“That’s Trent. He works for the twins dad.” Layla replied.
“Is he their bodyguard or something?” Naia asked.
“No but he’s always around when those two cause trouble. Let me go fill their orders.” Layla replies.
“Okay. I’ll be here with my brand new bottle.”
Layla shook her head and headed off towards Trent and his crew. Naia couldn’t help but look the same way. Her eyes instantly went to Trent. He was beautiful and there was something about him that stuck with her.
He enchanted her and what she didn’t know was she did the same for him. After the bar closed, Naia began walking back to her uncle’s house. She got halfway down the street when Trent caught up with her.
“Hey!” He said to her.
“Hi! How are you?” She replied.
“I’m good. You must be new in town. I’m Trent.”
“I know. Layla told me your name. I’m Naia.”
“It’s nice to meet you Naia.”
“Likewise. It’s nice to meet another friendly face outside of Layla and my uncle.“
“It’s dark out here. Mind if I walk you home?” He asked.
“Sure. Especially when I’m not sure which way to go.” She replied.
“Where does your uncle live?” He asked.
“Just outside of town. His house backs up to the woods.” She replied.
Even though it was nighttime, he flashed a smile at her that made her heart leap. As they walked they talked about what their lives were like growing up, what college life was like and past loves. She had just met him but she felt she knew him her whole life. When they got to her uncle’s front door, they weren’t ready to say goodbye.
“So this is me…”
“So it would seem. Thank you for letting me walk you home.”
“No thank you. Because I probably would’ve gotten lost and would’ve wandered around the woods for days.”
“I think you would’ve found your way home.”
There was a magnetic pull between them that neither could deny. Before either knew what they were doing, they kissed. It was a slow, sensual and deep  kiss. And when it ended both were desperate for more.
“Wow!”
“What you said.”
“I better get inside.”
“Will I see you again?” He asked.
“Of course. I’ll be here for a while.” She replies.
“Good. Have a good night Naia.”
“Goodnight Trent.”
When she went inside her heart was racing. And she wanted more. She wanted him. This was the exact same way she felt when she kissed Roman.
The next morning after showering, she was in the kitchen fixing herself breakfast.
Tumblr media
Her uncle still hadn’t returned from fishing. She had just sat down to eat her breakfast when the front door swung open. It was a man and a woman. They were two of the people she’d seen with Roman.
“Come! The ceremony awaits you!” He commanded.
“1.) no. 2.) WHAT THE HELL?!” Naia replies.
“We’re wasting time! Come now!” The woman demanded.
“What the hell? Get out!” Naia screamed.
When the woman went to grab Naia, she danced out the way. That’s when the man grabbed Naia and threw her over his shoulder. He dragged her out of the house, with her kicking and screaming.
“Let me go!” She screamed.
She struggled to get free but he was way too strong. She was thrown in the back of a van and a hood was placed over her head. Naia had no idea where they were taking her. And she was terrified of finding out.

So I'm trying to eat healthier but I have a major hurdle. I can't stand the taste of most vegetables. I'm getting better these days (peppers, onions, peas, spinach) but basics like carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower are a problem. Any preparation suggestions to make these or other veggies more palatable?
Okay, trying to take a deep, calming breath, and answer this again after losing all the work I put into this ask, so if I am a little short in my answers, unfortunately it’s because I’m doing all the work over again and am frustrated.
Now, above all else, my answer is *shrug*. It is a pillar of my own happiness and health that I do not try to modify picky eaters, but simply to avoid them. This isn’t a personal slight on you, it’s just that I’ve spend plenty of time on the tumbles giving advice to people about a dozen things, as a healthy and reasonably well adjusted human being who gets asked for it, only to be told “I CAN’T because..” or “I have an AVERSion to..” and I just do not care anymore.
So, before I get into this, anyone reading this: Take the advice or leave it. Be picky. I literally do not care. I was asked, I am supplying an answer. What you do with your life is your own, you don’t need to explain things to me. Go in peace.
OKAY! People have this idea that I was somehow sprung fully-formed from the mind of culinary adventure itself, but that isn’t true. While my other was a more than competent cook, and it’s true that my family was poor enough that what was served was what dinner I got to have, my father was intensely boring and so I really did eat much outside of extremely basic meat and potatoes fare. When I was 17, I took it upon myself to be an interesting person, and I loved cooking, so I funneled my energy into having an expansive palate and repertoire. I had never eaten a brussels sprout, a beet, jicama.
Now, the only things I don’t eat are for religious reasons. So anyone can do it.
First things first: You don’t have to like everything you put into your mouth, and the sooner you get on board with that idea, the easier it’ll be.
They say you need to introduce a food ten times before a toddler will even be reasonable about something new, and this increases more and more as someone gets older. Exposure therapy is definitely a thing! I would set aside one day a week when you are adventurous. Where you take on things you like less (also, stop telling yourself it’ll be horrible)
Mixing in is a great way to get used to stuff! Take something you don’t like and mix it into something you do. Put broccoli into chicken pot pie! Half and half mashed cauliflower and mashed potatoes! Peas and carrots are a classic combo! The more you have it, the less terrible it’ll be. You may never LIKE it (I still do not care for green beans) but you may be able to eat it, which is enough. Not every bite of food has to be tenderly kissed by the gods. Sometimes, you can eat for health.
Second things second: You have to prepare shit better!
I have no idea why so many American parents boiled and steamed all the vegetables, but I do know that it is probably one of the worst ways to prepare them. It makes them mushy and it sours the flavor and I mean I suppose it makes them literally hot but at what cost? Steaming CAN be good, but honestly steaming a vegetable takes a better sense of timing than one would assume.
By all-purpose recommendation is always roasting. Roasting brings out the natural sugars, and caramelizes the edges for delightful textures. Obviously I can’t give you a timetable for every single vegetable, but it’s very easy to find online. Some olive oil, some salt and pepper, and boom, in the oven and amazing.
Sauteing and grilling are great too! Pop some butter in a medium-high skillet and swirl those puppies until tender. Brush on some olive oil and give great grill marks.
Third things third: For the love of god, season your vegetables.
It is the strangest thing to me that people utterly ignore the role of seasoning in pleasure. People completely fail to season their salads and then wonder why they are not good. Are you the same people who don’t season chicken? Inquiring minds want to know!
I know I am constantly shoving Penzey’s down your throat, but I have no intention of stopping now. This is the best, easiest way to season a salad:
Tumblr media
It is also good on sandwiches, as you might imagine, but I don’t often have people writing in to me asking “How can I eat meat and cheese on bread that I never in my life have any intention of putting vegetables on and in fact will pick them off if they come on my sandwich?” Anyway, i cannot speak highly enough of this stuff, and of making a good salad in general! I have a recipe for homemade croutons on here, add some dried cranberries or fresh strawberries, slice up veggies, don’t just throw lettuce a bowl and expect it to be good.
There are loads of other seasonings as well! Try dill and thyme and basil, see how you feel about different penzey’s mixes like revolution or justice, I often like some of the things McCormick has--they’re not for just meat! But you have to make seasoning and tasing a major part of your vegetable cooking experience.
Try sauces! And not just cheese sauce, but better ones. Equal parts mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, and minced garlic makes a great sauce for green vegetables. Greek yogurt with mint and garlic makes an amazing sauce for squash and such. It’s a quick way to perk up a vegetable, and there are LOADS of recipes on the internet.
That’s basically what I’ve got offhand! Good luck in being a better eater!

Well, whats good my guy? Anyway I love you and your fan fictions so much I'm actually addicted to hinny its like crack to me lol anyway I have written some sloppy one-shots and I would love to post them but I don't have much confidence in myself or my writting any tips?
I completely understand! Society really fails to understand the seductive power of a Hinny addiction! 😉
Anyway, if you’re struggling with your fanfic writing, here is a question I recommend asking yourself:
If there something in my fic that needs work, do I want to hear about it from someone I know/trust... or from a bunch of random people in reviews?
Really, to me, that’s what it boils down to. I would much rather hear “oof, Harry would never do that!” from one of my trusty, amazing betas than from a stranger on a review.
And YES, my betas have told me that more than once. Writing is a process, and it’s never done! On the Christmas chapter of Noticing, Hills literally highlighted an entire page and wrote, “Why the hell is Ginny acting like Snape? What does she even have to be mad about? I’m so confused!”
You know what? She was right! Ginny was randomly, inexplicably furious and acting OOC beyond belief. It was also the first time I realized I tend use fanfic as a self-care/projection thing? Which is also an important thing to figure out, no matter what you’re writing.
So. As my friend @el-eye-zee-aye says... if you want to improve, find yourself some Spinach-in-your-teeth friends betas who will gently tell you what needs fixing — assuming you don’t want the court of public opinion to give you that feedback.
Unfortunately, we don’t have control over what happens once our stories are posted — and imo, the most we can do is mitigate the damage by fixing things we might not see ourselves.
Oh, and once you get that feedback from your beta? Take it seriously! They read through every single word of what you wrote, and they’re only making comments to help you improve.
For some people, it’s hard not to take beta comments personally — but if you’re worried about that, tell your beta! It could be a simple conversation of: “Hey, just FYI, I’m a beginning writer and I’m a little insecure. I’m happy to accept constructive criticism, but if all I hear is negativity, I might feel depressed/defeated. Do you think you can offer me both compliments and suggestions for improvement?”
And if that person doesn’t agree? Find someone else! There are plenty of fish in the sea. On the HG Discord alone, I can think of more than five. If you branch into the HPFF Discord, you’ll probably find even more. Ffn has a beta search function, too, if that appeals.
Best of luck, friend! The only way to get better is to keep trying and get feedback. You will be amazing — just give it time/practice ❤️

What foods do you usually eat then? Lately everything's just been pretty much disgusting for me too and I'm at a loss
bread
ham and cheese sandwich + potato chips
peanut butter and jelly sandwich
eggos + peanut butter and maple syrup
eggos are super easy lil bitches to pop in your toaster and then slap some peanut butter on
cinnamon toast + maple brown sugar oatmeal
try mixing grown flax seeds into the oatmeal. it doesn’t taste super great, but the brown sugar and cinnamon pretty much mask it and flax seeds have protein, fiber, and omega 3
blueberry / lemon poppy seed muffins
if you don’t have the spoons to Make muffins, get a box of muffin mix designed to be made in a mug! you can find them in the breakfast aisle, and you just add milk or water and microwave for a minute, and they taste great~
pizza (alfredo sauce; I hate marinara)
you can also add garlic powder and shredded cheese to the crust mix for extra goodness!
wheat rolls
you can buy pre-cooked rolls in the frozen section that just need to be heated up in the oven
protip: rub some olive oil on your pan / baking sheet, salt it lightly, sprinkle different cheeses, and THEN press your rolls onto all that goodness. it will bake onto the bottom of the roll and taste great!
pasta
I buy Knorr pasta sides, usually in the boxed meals aisle but they come in bags and lots of different flavors
I like bland stuff, so I buy: spinach and kale, herb and butter, alfredo sauce, broccoli and alfredo but they have lots of flavorful stuff too
macaroni and cheese
my mom made me a really great recipe for homemade mac’n’cheese if you want it
but Kraft is super easy and tastes great too
secret ingredient!! boil your noodles in half water, half chicken broth or get some broth concentrate and add a few teaspoons of that to add flavor and a tiny bit of protein!
gnocci is really good if you need something kind of different
they’re made from potatoes but taste and feel like noodles after being cooked
you can cook them in whatever sauce you want or buy boxed meals with sauce already included; I buy Italia four cheese gnocci
ramen
I just buy regular chicken flavor in those orange packs you can get for .50 but there’s lots of flavors usually available
you can also look up a ton of recommendations on how to add more good stuff like spices and vegetables but I am BORING so here are my fave picks:
oil / butter - add a drizzle of olive oil and/or a pat of butter at the very start when you put your noodles in; this is solely to add calories bc since I struggle to eat anything at all, I rarely hit 2000 a day and bodies need that
an egg - add about halfway through; you can crack it directly in there and let it bake on top of the ramen, but I prefer whisking it up in a cup and then pouring it in while stirring to get a scrambled egg effect; adds protein!!
parmesan cheese - don’t add until you’ve scooped out what you want into a bowl bc if you try to cook it with your noodles it will goop up in your pot; sprinkle some shredded or dusted parmesan on top of the ramen in your bowl, it tastes great with the egg
ravioli
I get Buitoni cheese ravioli with the matching alfredo sauce, but they also have pesto and marinara sauce
you can get meat-filled ravioli too, and ravioli made with spinach and kale baked into the noodles / cheese filling for some extra nutrition
goes great with wheat rolls!
soups!
I’ve started buying canned soups to start with and then just adding whatever I want to them
things to add to soups: potatoes, carrots, broccoli, celery, corn, peas, chicken broth, you can buy shredded meat like chicken or roast beef if you’re into that, vegetable stock / bullion
I also have a quick and easy homemade chicken noodle soup recipe
boil egg noodles in chicken broth plus herbs (rosemary, thyme, celery flakes), then add cut up carrots and potatoes, (plus any other meat or vegetables you want) and boil until everything is tender
goes great with cornbread muffins!
I found little “snack packs” of carrots that had exactly the right amount of carrots for one pot of soup, and there were four packs. so that might be easier than buying an entire bag of carrots that you’ll only use ¼ of
and a good recipe for potato and broccoli soup
don’t have it on me rn so message me if you want it and I’ll find it
it has potatoes, broccoli, sharp cheddar cheese, and a creamy sauce; also great with cornbread
if you want minimal cooking, heating up a can of campbell’s chicken noodle soup is fine!
I make a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it
protein
anything with peanut butter
I like Munchies peanut butter crackers bc they taste the Best
lots of stuff with cheese
protein shakes!
I buy Bolton’s Farmhouse bc they also make good strawberry banana fruit smoothies and their protein shake tastes like chocolate milk
Cliff granola bars
very expensive, but I like peanut butter banana, chocolate chip, and peanut butter flavors; super easy to eat when you don’t have the spoons to make anything
yogurt
greek yogurt has the most protein if you can suffer through it like I do. oreo crunch isn’t bad and salted caramel is OK. whipped yogurt tastes the best but it doesn’t have as much protein
smoothies
you can buy a bag of mixed berries in the frozen section, then add plain yogurt, orange juice / pomegranate juice (fucking expensive), kale or spinach leaves (you really don’t taste them) Body by Vi (also expensive!), and blend it up
if you don’t have the spoons for that, you can buy smoothie drinks like I mentioned above with the protein drinks. I mix in some Vi stuff with that since it has a lot of vitamins and extra protein. I like the cream cheese flavor bc it’s sweet
roast beef and mashed potatoes
obviously cooking a roast takes a lot of time, so I just buy a package of precooked roast beef next to the tubs of premade mashed potatoes. you can heat up both in the microwave in about 5 min each, and it goes great with wheat rolls
I hope this helps and message me again if you want recipes for anything!

After coming back from food paradise (a.k.a. Singapore) what do I eat now?
My focus is on optimizing my body for muscle and longevity, and have it be something I can sustain for the long term.
Hence I am trying out one free day (a.k.a. cheat day) per week. 😁 I think that helps with psychological perseverance, but honestly I might have to reduce it to once in 2 or 3 weeks if I continue packing on the pounds.🤔 I'm 53/54kg now and used to be 51/52.
The one cheat day was mentioned in Tim Ferris' 4 Hour Body book. But that book is like an encyclopedia so it's pretty crazy, didn't read it all. Book summary here: https://youtu.be/vmJM8jpVygg
One the other 6 days I am eating foods listed in Dr. Gundry's longevity Paradox...because I find that it can be made to overlap well with Tim Ferris' method.
Dr. Gundry's main focus is Lectin free foods. His focus is on reducing inflammation in our gut and body, improving the microbiome. I'm following his latest grocery list from the 'Longevity Paradox' which was updated from his previous book'the plant paradox'. Comparison of the two books here: https://youtu.be/N4Zcz4LUkZY
So today for breakfast, I had Okinawan sweet potato. Which is already eaten in this picture.
Lunch is
Baruka nuts for appetizer (see barukas.com) . They look like beetles don't they? 😂
Legume soup with shrimp, shitake mushrooms, sage and cilantro for Entree.
88% dark chocolate, cherries and blueberries for dessert.
If I need dinner it might be celery or spinach or baby kale. But probably not. Not only because I want to practice intermittent fasting. It's because by not eating, I have one less task to focus on and full attention on my kids at night.
My daughter is good at understanding her work, but needs help to stay focused. My son needs more academic help. Parents will know what that's like, right?
Total calories for the day is 1340.
I must say...fatty keto meals were more delicious... 😆

I was wonderi if you had any recipe recommendations for someone just starting out as a vegan, I'm starting it on monday when I do my next food shop
Absolutely! I’m actually a horrible cook and stick to the basics. I’m not sure where you shop for food, but most towns have a natural foods store with fun stuff like vegan cheeses and meats. But you can easily find all you need at a big chain grocery store. Here’s a breakdown of what I eat on a typical day.
Breakfast:
-Cereal (most kinds are vegan surprisingly, just skim the ingredients list for any dairy or honey) with soy milk (or any plant-based milk you prefer, depending on tolerance and allergies, there’s almond, cashew, coconut, rice, hemp, oat, and flax. I prefer soy, almond, and cashew for taste.)
-Toasted English muffin with one half warmed in the microwave with Chao vegan cheese slice, the other half spread with Tofutti soy cream cheese (it’s the best cream cheese out there and real cheap compared to others, but there are soy-free vegan cheeses available if you can’t eat soy)
-Oatmeal (packaged or quick-make because I’m a noob) with brown sugar or maple syrup on top, and fruit if you have it!
-If you have a blender, go wild! Frozen fruit + banana + plant-based milk of your choice + protein powder (optional) = Perfection. I don’t even add sugar because the fruit makes it so sweet. (more smoothie recipes here)
Snacks:
-Kite hill soy-free dairy-free yogurt (complete with probiotics)
-Fruuiiiiiit if it’s in season (melons fill you up the most with the least amount of calories, if that’s something you are concerned with)
-Justin’s Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups(they’re not super cheap but they are worth every penny and they are SO GOOD)
-Fruit juices of any kind, but especially that thick green stuff (I love it)
-Carrots (or any finger veggie really) and hummus
-Tortilla/potato chips and bean dip if I’m feeling my junk food vibe
Lunch/Dinner:
-Pizza with tomato sauce and whatever veggies you like (I go for artichoke, spinach, mushroom, corn, and tomatoes)
-PB&J (I like Justin’s nut butters because they’re really smooth and usually cheaper than all the other more “natural” brands)
-Baked potato with Earth Balance butter, nutritional yeast sprinkled on top (it’s like a cheesy type of flaky condiment with lots of B12 in it)
-If you’re not terrified of using a frying pan like I am, you can stir fry literally anything with the right noodles, veggies, tofu, and tempeh
-SQUASH. Just cut that baby in half (I love spaghetti and butternut squash, but acorn squash is also really good and small). Put it in a microwavable casserole dish with some water, poke some holes in it, and heat it in the microwave for 7-10 minutes (maybe longer? you’ll know it’s done when you stick a fork in it and it’s soft), then put vegan butter, salt, and nutritional yeast on it, and eat straight from the gourd.
-Gardein Seven Grain “Chicken” Tenders over whatever frozen veggies I’m in the mood for (I CANNOT recommend frozen veggies enough, they’re cheap and they last forever, and Gardein’s plant-based meats have so much protein it’s ridiculous)
-Veggie burgers (there are a million different brands now, so don’t be afraid to experiment, my personal favorite is Field Roast) with Vegenaise (Just Mayo might be more widely available at national chains), more Chao cheese slices, and whatever veggies you want to heap on top (more veggie burger ideas)
-Pasta pasta pasta!
-Spaghetti with chickpeas, diced tomatoes, and capers. Real simple to make. My mom (who is not vegan) actually found the recipe in redbookmag.com. And for the life of me I can’t find it now, but this recipe is very similar, except it has panko bread crumbs sprinkled on top (which frankly sounds even more delicious and I will have to try it myself).
-More pasta because you can never have too much pasta in your life?
-30 Vegan Meals in under 30 Minutes
-10 Very Varied Vegan Recipes Everyone Should Know
-Tips on How to shop Vegan on a Budget (and how it isn’t any more expensive than a non-vegan diet)
I’ll also include a few links to some vegan starter kits that will also help you out. Thank you so much for this ask, I get super excited talk to people trying out veganism. Let me know if you have any more questions! Happy shopping!
Veganuary Starter Kit
Why Vegan?
Vegan Outreach Kit (they actually send you information in the mail)
Vegan Cuts - Not a starter kit, but a snack box you receive each month with lots of vegan goodies (there is also a beauty box for all your cruelty-free hygiene needs)
VegNews - A HUGE resource for for vegan recipes, news, travel, whatever you might be curious to know about veganism
And lastly, Roy thanks you for being so awesome.

My Top 5 All-Natural Anti-Aging Secrets
We are all going to grow older. Only you can control how you will age. The following advice will help you learn how to keep your youth for the longest amount of time possible.
Having healthy relationship is vital to growing older healthy. Being involved in local community activities has been proven to increase both your health and your life span. In order to get the greatest benefit of your social interactions, you should focus on those which involve intimacy with people you can pour your heart out to.
Challenge your mind often to keep it healthy. Older people are wiser, so you should work on furthering your intelligence as you grow. Taking a course through your local college or filling out a crossword puzzle can exercise your mind, and make you feel great.
One of the keys to successful getting older is to always be willing to learn new things. It is important to always learn through life.
Step up your workout routine. As you get older, your body requires more time and energy to maintain its strength and flexibility. Walking every day for at least thirty minutes is a great way to start keeping your body healthy. Try adding in strength exercises about two times a week. This keeps your body healthy and fit, and helps you avoid other age related problems.
Wherever you are, bring your happiness with you. Making others smile will make you feel great. Being happy does not cost a thing, it is a priceless gift to others.
Life is an adventure; enjoy and explore! Set milestones for yourself, and when you reach them feel proud of yourself.
Keep only the positive people in your life. Research indicates that smiling and laughing results in fewer wrinkles thus keeping you looking younger. So you want to spend your time with friends that will make you smile and laugh, not ones that make you frown!
Hormone balance is of the utmost importance to all men and women as they age. Hormone imbalances can cause a slew of problems as we age. Depression, weight gain and insomnia are a few problems caused by out of whack hormones, and these can lead to additional medical problems. If you find yourself suffering from any of these symptoms, please see a doctor in order to find the best treatment to balance out your hormones, so the aging process is a much more pleasant experience.
Have a little fun! Now is the time in your life where you have freedom to do as you choose with the power and ability to make it happen. Fill your days with the people and things you love.
After you have retired you will have time to pick up those dear hobbies that you had to leave behind. Now that you finally have plenty of time to focus on yourself, it is important to renew your interest in the things you once enjoyed. These activities will keep your mind sharp, active, and interested in life.
Check your blood pressure often. There are many times no symptoms are present if you have high blood pressure, which is why it is often referred to as "the silent killer". As you age, it becomes more important to have your blood pressure checked on a regular basis, because your cardiovascular system can deteriorate over time. If you catch your blood pressure spiking, this allows you to address the issue immediately.
Smoking will prevent you from looking your best - so quit! Smoking contributes to wrinkles, especially around the mouth. It also makes you age faster and can put you in the grave before your time.
Be sure to improve your diet in general. This is a big step toward combating the growing older process. You need to eat fruits, vegetables, dairies, meats, and avoid fats, sodium or large amounts of refined sugar. You may also want to try cutting back on snacks and eating three moderate meals.
Visit your doctor annually and complete all the tests that he recommends. Being proactive about your health can be beneficial to you in the long run. Early detection of disease or cancer is important. By taking care of your problems now, you have a better chance of getting proper treatment.
Anti-oxidants are something you should take every day. If you do so, you will have less free radicals. Most antioxidants can be found in dark-colored veggies and fruits such as spinach, carrots, tomatoes, squash, blackberries and blueberries.
Get hip to injection therapy! This procedure is specifically designed for wrinkle treatment. Through this treatment, the muscles of the face are relaxed and wrinkles are reduced. This process is more appealing then surgery because it is safer. However, it is not necessarily a "one and done" treatment. Multiple treatments might be needed.
Give priority to getting to routine doctor visits for check-ups. Checkups allow your doctor to see how your vital signs are and identify any potential problems. It helps to identify problems early before they become serious. Every condition or disease can be treated more effectively when caught in the earliest stages.
Taking care of your skin is especially vital as you age. Young people need to constantly protect their skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Spending time exposed to the sun increases the speed at which wrinkles or even skin cancer develop.
Stress causes premature growing older, so stay stress-free as much as you possibly can. Exercise is also a great stress reliever, and working 20 minutes of it each day into your schedule can be a great relaxant and health tonic.
Eat foods with a lot of fiber to curb getting older effects. If you eat fibers, your digestive system will be free of toxins. Additionally, it helps to remove bad cholesterol, slow digestion and stabilize blood sugar. In short, fiber keeps your stomach and other parts of your digestive system healthy so that they work as efficiently as possible.
The ideas in the article should give you some great tips on slowing the aging process and feeling younger. Best of luck to you and stay young!

hey everybody its Angie and welcome to hot and flashy today I'm going to share with you my top 5 all-natural anti-aging skincare secrets now this kind of a video with that kind of a title I feel like you are here because you're hoping to see some super all-natural magical thing that you've never heard of before that's going to erase all your lines and wrinkles all your age spots firm up your skin and make you look ten years younger I don't want to bait-and-switch you but since this is about all natural anti-aging secrets guess what they are all lifestyle changes so if you're not into making lifestyle changes you might be disappointed in what I have to say in this video but I want you to stick around and watch it anyway because I think that or at least I hope that you'll learn something from the video and you'll learn that lifestyle changes really can make a difference in how you look as you get older it's not that I'm afraid of Aging or you know there's anything wrong with aging obviously we can't avoid it it happens no matter what you do every second of your life the time is ticking away the point for me is to be the best I can be at every age to look as youthful as I can to be as healthy as I can so that as I do get older I can enjoy my life so I take my anti-aging very very seriously I'm also an equal-opportunity anti-ager which means that while I do live anti-aging in my lifestyle with the tips that I'm going to show you in today's video I also do other things some of the other things that I have done in the past are Botox fillers IPL treatments laser treatments I have never had any surgery whatsoever so I don't want you to be sitting there watching me wondering well issue full of Botox right now the answer is no is she full of filler right now the answer is no I'm going to be 54 next week in general I think that my skin looks pretty good for its age I think that it could also look a lot better for its age if I had started doing these five things that are going to tell you today when I was a lot younger and that of course leads me into my number one all natural anti-aging secret and that is to avoid UV radiation that is good old mr. sunshine I spent plenty of time in my youth baking in the Sun I don't do that anymore I stopped baking about 20 years ago now I'm not saying live in a cave obviously I lead an active life I bike I garden I paddleboard the point is to protect your skin while you're outside so I wear sunscreen every single day on every single part of my exposed skin it doesn't matter to me if it's winter or summer high noon or six o'clock in the evening if the Sun is out I have my sunscreen on and that's because the UVA rays are the invisible Agers that we didn't really know about until recently and they are the same strength at all times of the day and at all times of the year they come through clouds they come through windows so definitely apply sunscreen every day of an SPF 30 or higher now I've got a couple of natural ones that I wanted to show you today this one is one that I found in my recent roundup of all mineral sunscreens this is the my shell replenishing solar defense SPF 30 this is a great one it works really well under makeup this is burn out eco this is an SPF 35 also all mineral and then there are these think sports sunscreens this is a great brand all natural all mineral sunscreens Reap safe so if any of these sunscreens can help you to wear a sunscreen every day I highly recommend them if you want to see my sunscreen roundup video from this year I'm putting the links to all the associated videos in the information box below this video so just click that show more button that box will open up and you'll get to go over to those videos afterwards alright so the other thing that I do besides sunscreen I always have a hat with me so I want to show you a couple of my favorite hats this is an Eric Javits Fedora this has an SPF value of 50 this saved my skin on my recent trip to Spain where I was out there outdoors pretty much all day every day that with a cute pair of sunglasses and you're protecting your face and your eyes from the Sun so it's a great look it's very hip and youthful now sunglasses I definitely recommend for everyone because of course as you know our eyes are the first area of our face that start to show aging so sunglasses can go a long way to protecting the skin around your eyes so putting on a nice big pair of sunglasses whether it's you know a spending pair of Tory Burch aviators like these or an inexpensive $9 pair of sunglasses from Target these have 100% UV protection so wearing sunglasses every time you're out in the Sun prevents squinting it reduces crow's feet and it also protects against cataracts so you can anti-age your eyes on the inside as well tip number two is to sleep on your back with your head elevated now this is probably going going to be one of the more difficult things to accomplish if you're a side sleeper but I can tell you it will change your skin for the better I used to be a side sleeper I would wake up in the morning look in my bathroom mirror and I would have this v of wrinkles edged into my chest and that was over four years ago my wrinkles should be worse because I've aged but look I don't have any chest wrinkles and the reason is that I switched from sleeping on my side to sleeping on my back the clincher to have me do it was that I was visiting my dermatologist one day and she actually said oh you sleep on this side of your face don't you and I was like what how can you tell and she was like well your wrinkles on this side are way deeper than they are on this side and I was like oh my god you could tell just by looking at me it took me around 3 to 6 months to finally train myself fully to sleep on my back but now that I've done it I am so glad I did and when I look at it over the long term like I'm planning on living probably another 40 years or so with any luck three months is a drop in the bucket compared to 40 years of comfortable back sleeping but I ended up buying a sleeping wedge and this is like one of the best things that I ever bought I picked this up on Amazon it's just like a big wedge of foam it has this nice bamboo cover that comes off and I can wash it but I put my pillows on top of that and I sleep actually kind of with my upper body elevated and that really helped to train me to sleep on my back I sleep better because my hips don't hurt I'm not tossing and turning and when I wake up I don't have pain in my shoulders like I used to the other thing is that sleeping with your head elevated will help with dark circles and puffiness and eye bags because those three things are mainly caused by fluid pooling under your eyes while you sleep who knew and so sleeping with your head elevated actually helps those to drain out of your face and so it keeps your eye area looking younger longer and who doesn't want that tip number three is to feed your skin from the inside as it turns out what we eat directly affects how our skin looks and how our skin ages some foods actually help our skin to age slower and look better and some foods speed up the aging process oh my gosh and of course don't you know it's the things that we love the most that speed up the aging process so the foods to avoid are refined sugars unfortunately refined sugars promote glycation which damages cells and causes wrinkles alcohol is pro-inflammatory and it speeds up the aging process of course you've probably also heard those recent studies where resveratrol and ingredients in red wine actually help to slow the aging process so if you're going to have that glass of red wine every day to help with your heart and your aging then go ahead and do that just everything in moderation I love sugar I can't cut it out of my diet completely but I have cut way back on the amount of refined sugar that I'm eating so onto the foods that actually help us look younger antioxidant and vitamin rich foods that can protect your cells from free radical damage those are things like raw almonds dark chocolate so there you can get some sweets in there but without a lot of refined sugar blueberries blackberries strawberries dark berries green tea actually any tea all the teas have polyphenols and antioxidants and dark leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach now the other foods that I eat a of our salmon and fishes that contain healthy fats and omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids those fats work inside the cells to help protect the moisture barrier and so of course I have a video on what I eat in a day I've actually done two of them and I'm due for an update and the link for that will be in the information box below the video as well so you can see how I've worked all of these things into my diet tip number four is to nourish skin from the outside so just like I talked about nourishing skin from the inside with vitamins and antioxidants you can do that from the outside as well so while your skin's main function is to keep things out it is a little bit absorb and things do make it in there and some of the things that are the best and absorbing into your skin and making a change our vitamins and antioxidants my number one vitamin to use on my skin is vitamin A now I use a prescription vitamin A you've heard of this is called retin-a or this is the generic tretinoin that I get I can't say that this is 100% all-natural I'm not sure if it is so if you don't want to use a prescription retinoid you don't have to but you should definitely use some kind of vitamin A and vitamin A fortunately comes in all different forms obviously the other forms are not going to be as strong as this they're not going to work as well or as fast but they will work over time one great source of vitamin A is rosehip seed oil it's 100% natural you can get yourself some rosehip seed oil put that on your face your neck your chest there's also over-the-counter retinol creams I don't have a hundred percent natural one to recommend to you but one that I really do like a lot is this CeraVe skin renewing cream serum and what vitamin A does is it works at the cellular level to help your skin to generate more collagen and it helps to reduce wrinkles another vitamin that I love for topical skincare is vitamin C vitamin C is a very potent antioxidant it helps to scavenge free radicals that go around breaking down the scaffolding that holds our skin up it helps to brighten our skin on the surface and to reduce the appearance of age spots the one that I use in love and I believe this is all natural this is made in the US this is by timeless skincare it's their twenty percent C plus E Plus Peru liqu acid serum and this is a great way to get vitamin C into your skin it will absorb right in so it really works well the other vitamins that I look for our vitamin b3 which is niacinamide that's another antioxidant that is showing really great things that it does for skin it can reduce your pores it can reduce wrinkles it can brighten the skin it helps with skin cell turnover so that's wonderful a product that is all-natural that I like very much that contains niacinamide is the mad hippie face cream this has so much good stuff packed into it I love this stuff I brought the box over just so I could read you a couple of the ingredients so it's got the niacinamide it's got Matrixyl 3000 it's got argan oil it's got green tea extract it's got grapeseed extract it's got resveratrol acai berry vitamin E coenzyme q10 coconut oil I mean it is just packed with so much great stuff this is a great product especially if you are into all natural skin care products and all natural anti-ager number 5 is the one you guys have probably probably been dreading hearing but it is exercise exercise really is an anti-ager it helps your skin to produce more antioxidants to fight those free radicals it also helps with blood flow so as you exercise you know how your skin gets flushed that is the blood rushing to the surface of your skin and that helps to bring more of those nutrients in your diet to your skin to deliver those things to the skin cells where it's needed it also helps to flush out toxins and free radicals so increasing blood flow is really great for you especially as you get older now there wasn't really any clinical evidence of this before it was all kind of anecdotal but there was a study done that I just stumbled upon that they actually took a small group of people who were over 65 they were sedentary people and they took a little biopsy of their skin they examined that under a microscope and they found that their skin pretty much looked like the standard old person's skin where the stratum corneum the top layer was thickened and that's kind of what makes the skin look dull and more wrinkled and that the dermis the inner layers were thinner which also makes your skin look older so they took this group of people and they had them start exercising two times a week for 30 minutes after three months of that they went back took another biopsy of their skin and guess what their skin resembled the skin of a twenty to thirty year old so their stratum corneum had thinned and their dermis had thickened and so the guy that did the research was like I I don't want to say that exercise is the Fountain of Youth but you know I kind of think it is so when I saw that I was like yes I knew exercise made me feel better and I had this sense that it helped me to look better but there was no confirmation before and now that I've seen this study I'm like yes these are things that you can start doing at any age and they will have an effect on your skin of course if you started them in your 20s that would be better but what you'll find out is that research has shown that you are never too old to start doing these things if you start even when you're in your 60s it can still improve the look of your skin and your skin is such an amazing organ that you can turn back the hands of time on it even though you're getting older so those were my top five all natural anti-aging secrets so thanks for tuning in today everybody I really appreciate your time and I'll see you in the next video so take care bye

My Top 5 All-Natural Anti-Aging Secrets
My Top 5 All-Natural Anti-Aging Secrets
Like most people, you have probably heard hundreds of well-intentioned adages about growing older. Read this article to find out how you can feel and look younger than you are.
Starting and keeping good relationships is a vital part of the growing older process. Being active in your community has been shown to increase lifespan. Focus on relationships with people you can confide in to get the most of your social life.
To keep the aging process healthy, continuously teach yourself new skills. Learning is important regardless of your age.
Increase the intensity of your workout regimen. As you grow older, your body requires more exercise to keep it looking and feeling strong and young. You should at least take 5 days out of every week to go on a thirty minute walk. Include some exercises that emphasize strength a couple of times each week. This will help you stay fit, which will keep you young and lively.
Everyone gets older. We may find ourselves in a position to no longer be able to care for ourselves. When this happens, it is wise to consider moving into an assisted living facility or nursing home. While not the ideal situation for some, in actuality this might be the best available option. There are professionals who work at the facility who are licensed and able to give you any assistance that you may need.
No matter where you are living, decorate it to make it feel like home. As we age, we often find that our tastes change, so make sure you keep your home consistent with your tastes. If you do change your living arrangements, include lots of special things in your new space to make it feel warm, homey, and welcoming.
Friendships are essential to your balance. No one is ever too old to begin new friendships. If you feel lonely, go meet some new people and build friendships that will enable you to have a wonderful long life.
Take time to enjoy living. If you set goals for yourself, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment after you reach those goals and have a higher quality of life overall.
As you age, you need to take greater care of your eyesight. Some eyesight loss is natural and unavoidable, but it's important to keep getting them checked to look for diseases that can worsen your eyesight if left untreated.
Stay away from harsh environments. Staying in the heat or cold for too long can do damage to your skin. Doing so leads to premature growing older effects as well as increases your chances for skin cancer later in life.
You should have a healthy diet. Aim for a diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, and limit your intake of fats and sugars. A quality diet fuels your body, giving you the energy you need to be physically and mentally well.
Enjoy yourself! This is a great time for you to do the things you want and to make wonderful things happen. Look at every day as if it was your last.
Get a lot of water. If you are older, you are more prone to dehydration. Everyone should drink at least eight glasses of water per day.
Avoid falling. In older individuals falling is the main reason that people break bones and have serious injuries, some even die. Walking is a low impact exercise that can really make a difference in your health. Also try doing some light strength training exercises, and get plenty of vitamin D and calcium to keep your bones strong.
Make sure you compile a list of medications you currently take, and keep it with you. You should do this, especially if you fill prescriptions at different places. This is for your own safety, because many medicines should never be taken together.
Visiting your doctor can be pesky, but you need to stick with it and follow through whenever he or she recommends a test. By checking in with your body and health often, you can catch potential health issues early and have the best chance at effective treatment. The sooner you take action, the better.
Today it is considered wise, healthy eating to include a diet that is high in anti-oxidant foods for individuals in all age groups. They help fight against free radicals. You can find antioxidants in fruits and veggies that are richly colored, including spinach, carrots, tomatoes and blueberries.
Use injection therapy! This is a great way to reduce the effects of wrinkles. It works by relaxing facial muscles that cause wrinkles on the face. Additionally, unlike than surgery, many consider injection therapy to be fairly safe. It is important to remember, though, that multiple treatments may be necessary for the injections to work.
Getting fit and eating a good diet are great ways to avoid common growing older problems like loss of energy, loss of memory, and putting on weight. Eat a healthy diet, get plenty of exercise, and stay active to stave off the negative effects of getting older.
Use primer for applying makeup to wrinkled skin. This product is somewhat new and it uses silicone as its main ingredient. Primers will reduce the look of wrinkles making your skin look more smooth.
Keep your youthfulness longer by exercising regularly. Studies show that people who get regular exercise and follow a balanced diet show fewer signs of age than those who don't. Exercise is vitally important to a quality life, especially as a person ages. Exercise keeps skin looking supple and young, but it also improves muscle tone, encourages circulation and improves stamina.
By eating foods that are rich in fiber, you can better manage the effects of age. Fiber keeps your digestion efficient, preventing toxins from building up. These foods remove cholesterol, slow the digestion process and help keep your blood sugar normal during the day. Ingest some fiber because it will get your digestive system going strong.
It is hoped that this article has brought you a new understanding of the aging process, and how to keep yourself healthy. Keep having a young state of mind. Many elderly people today have active lives that were previously unheard of.

Shawn Fitzgerald from the director burn offices strength news yesterday I was searching for news items new interesting unique items for my show trend news and I happened to come across this article as advertisement it just came I just came across it of a skincare it's called better various skin care solution that makes you look 20 years younger takes away all your wrinkles and I couldn't believe it you know I know there's a lot of things on the internet and so they can do this but this was there with two things that caught me with us and first of all was the price it's for 49 I mean studying the price over of a meal you could take the skin the skin care solution and if it didn't work you to lose much money and secondly the before and after pictures which are fantastic and all the comments from the ladies and the men detractors also it's also for men now I'm in no way an advocate I don't work for this company I don't even know who they are they got a famous doctor on there as well so I was very intrigued about it I thought I'd share this this article with you guys so that you could you know you you and this is something that maybe you could try I don't know here's the article from the foot mom daily I'm not going to go through an extensively in the article I'll leave a link on my online in the video and you can go and check it out yourself but I'll just go through some of the pictures and what they say about this it starts off with the usual wording you know there won't need to buy something where would you spend 449 to look 20 years younger this is the question this miracle miraculous wrinkle remover does exactly that doctors call it better than Botox okay let's take 49 right there better better quarter better than Botox right okay when someone thought my husband was actually was actually my son that was the last straw she said we got the chance to sit down with a 71 year old woman who found an amazing new youth serum I used to just ignore those little wrinkles that started when I was about 40 but one wrinkle turns into a big one and it just leveled now interesting according to experts wrinkles and sagging skin get hot and hot Street as the months go by what women don't realize is that you don't just get a few more wrinkles every year your skin becomes increasingly weak and wrinkles multiply that old looking skin can be caused by poor diet sun exposure or lack of exercise things that most of us do without do without even thinking about as time goes by it gets harder and harder to treat your wrinkles okay so let's just go through some of this I mean this this is like a famous doctor and I've seen him on DSTV he's probably seen him on that on TV as well and he's showing this before and after and look at that further but the most interesting part is about this woman this woman there were 70 else there before she's seven years and look at her now I mean where is all over wrinkled squat I mean this is before and after so this is what intrigued me with us with a scream I was even very intrigued because I mean it's real no there's no real cure for aging I mean it nobody's everybody's looking for it but you know I'm intrigued by this now we're just gonna have a look at what Lauren she's a seven year old grandmother for the the deadness and you know how she perfected this Lauren a 70 old 71 year old grandma from jazz box African is a perfect example how little smart thinking and ingenuity can help you avoid unnecessary office and save you thousands of doctor's bills like most women wrote Lauren Lauren didn't have the extra cash to try every celebrity-endorsed anti-aging cream miracle cream let alone splurge on expensive selective medicines like plastic surgery or faceless before trying this simple trick she admits she used to spend almost every hour a day on an extensive skin care regime consisting of six different products with seriously disappointing results look sounds like my mother she was puts tons of cream on before she and my grandmother used to be the same she did eggs to go to bed cloaked in cream coltan and it doesn't help her okay so let's go through what a solution is after year of doing thorough research and speaking to other women about the own skincare but she learned of a product that was yielding real results and helping women take years of their skin beleve after after only a few days of adding beleve to his daily skin she saw noticeable results in the in the mirror okay I'm not gonna go through how it was this a long article but basically you need attribute vitamin C tightening you can look at it I'll leave the link in in in my pal and you can go directly onto this this this the site and have a look at this but this is how it works I'm just showing you the before and after look at the results of this lady yeah this lady - I mean can you believe it look at this lady okay okay finally yeah there's plenty of skip nurses where they sell a product and they give you a hundred percent I think it's a hundred percent guarantee back off I'm not as I'm percent satisfaction guarantee Oh or your full money-back yes interesting article not really a regular sort of a news article but I had to share it because I came across it and I was intrigued by I mean isn't it cure for aging I mean people since Egypt have been looking for ways to ladies since then I've been trying to cure themselves of all kinds of cream so I know for a fact you can't cure your inner organs I mean they still battling to find the cure aging skin nobody's really come up with a cure for that but when you see results like this I mean for the price first of all I thought geez the process is amazing and secondly I was intrigued by that but I've before and after pictures so yeah um you know this this could be something worth having a look at I don't work for this company I don't know anything about them I just came across this articles are not selling this item I just a lot share this with our viewers and see what they think about this and I think it's a great topic to talk about cuz you all want to look younger twenty years come on alright this is training news short is here from training using the dagger due north till tomorrow night with our next
