you know what's so disappointing? the way people keep saying 'don't be afraid to portray mental illness and disability in media!! in your art and writing!!! normalise it and don't shun it!!!' and then the MOMENT you bring up a symptom that's too messy and uncomfortable to handle, they take a fuckin u-turn and go "UM no that's bad. like. you're a bad person if you do that. that's weird and it makes me uncomfortable so it's wrong."

here's the thing!!!!!!! it's not convenient!!!!! it's not simple!!!! i can't be honest and keep writing about how depression paints your whole world blue and all that shit!!!!!! because guess what!!!! depression and disabilities and borderline personality disorder and SO many other things are just. not neat and clean or easily consumable. they WILL make you uncomfortable and sad. they WILL make you feel bad. honesty is not easy. it's not meant to be.

and dehumanisation of sociopaths and psychopaths is genuinely distressing. not all of them!!! are!!!! bad people!!! it's a medical condition!!!! a mental illness!!! a person's illness doesn't make them bad. their actions and the decisions they take decide that and I am SO sick and tired of people watering down every complex human trait and toxic behaviour as good and bad and right and wrong. don't you see!!! some things are simply just. human. that's all. people fuck up. badly, sometimes. but that doesn't mean they are not people. I know Vi's depression and angst next season is serious, but I can't help thinking about how goth make-up would have her looking like a clown. Unfortunately, I might not be able to take Vi seriously in those scenes (or at least not serious enough) , because she's literally Boo Boo the Fool.

It's one thing to feel disconnected from your community when you've been gone for so long, and it's a whole other thing for the community see you openly run around with an enforcer. And even more for the community to see you run around with a Councilor and a SQUAD of enforcers to basically arrest factory workers, including children, and leave a bunch of bodies behind, including a kid. I'm sure their families would be pissed to see you in the street.

Obviously Vi's depression is real and she's in for a real battle with her demons. But if I see her drinking in the club with her clown (KISS) makeup my brain's going to make a sad trombone noise, whomp whomp whomp.

I think people overestimate how feminist team black is. If someone brings up how Baela should be the heir to Driftmark, it's always "she would've been Queen if not for the Greens!", ignoring that 1, she would be Queen consort, not a Queen in her own right, and 2 she has a legitimate claim in her own right to Driftmark. Team Black's goal is to crown Rhaenyra, but Rhaenyra becoming Queen isn't a win for feminism because it does nothing to dismantle the rest of the patriarchal system that exists in Westeros. From what we've gotten so far, it reads that Rhaenyra wants to be the exception and not the rule. Rhaenyra has made a lot of bad political decisions, which means she can't acknowledge Baela's claim because it would weaken her own claim (blatantly admitting her eldest sons are illegitimate would not end well for her to say the least). So she betrothes Jace and Luke to Baela and Rhaena to kind of atone for that, like as a consolation prize Baela will be Queen and Rhaena will be lady of Driftmark, neither of them would hold either title in their own right. It's good matches because the kids like each other and will treat each other well, but it's not a feminist win or a feministic liberation. It's usurpation, usurpation that takes place because Rhaenyra has to do damage control after having illegitimate children and after a serious of bad political decisions (both hers and her fathers, Viserys is the arbiter of this entire mess). To me, Rhaenyra is very reminiscent of Mary Queen of Scots, I can see a lot of elements drawn from Mary's history in Rhaenyra's story and character, down to their sons eventually taking the crown they failed to claim/keep.

I know it must be very hard feeling like the most impotent man on earth, to look at the IPs you own and realize that the two biggest critical successes who have withstood the test of time were the two that succeeded in spite of you instead of because of you. Nobody understands you and your incredibly bland and tenuous grasp on worldbuilding and good storytelling. Don't people realize that the only thing cooler than generic European landscape is a colder generic European landscape? And why does nobody understand the intricacies of your post-apocalyptic dream of "gray landscape with an ending so bad that you had to retcon it" or "brown landscape with a story so bad that you refuse to address it out of fear."

I know. I know it's difficult. Your self esteem must be as small as your penis right now. Poor baby.

However, if you could stop fucking nuking things that make you feel like a wittle baby, I would appreciate it. It was already cheap when you shrugged and decided that destroying Vvardenfell was canon, but to go and nuke Shady Sands as well and follow it up with, "Vegas is also over. My big boy mean marines are in charge now :)" just reeks of you being a toddler (TODDler, do you get it?) who picks up your toys and goes home when the other kids decide they want to play a different game than you. Or worse, somebody complimented the other kid on their toy, so you broke it and then took home the pieces.

This doesn't even seem like you taking a chance at risky storytelling. It reeks of you being a jealous little pissant. It doesn't seem like a coincidence that you've done this specifically to the game you were tricked into taking risks with (and is therefore regarded as a better game than your D&D ripoff afterward) and the game you had minimal to no involvement in (that was well regarded because it was written by people who had an innate understanding of and respect for the source material).
