Quick update: I didn't forget about this blog and the ffs, I've just been too busy and tired to manage them 😅 For now, I have the drafts and the ideas for the Apollo one shot (which is about 50% completed) and for the next chapter of King. And for my other ffs, I have ideas for their next chapters, but I'm not really satisfied with them, so no updates for now. For all of them, I just need some time (and disposition) to sit down and write 😭

Also, I want to share some news with you: next month I'll start college 💜💜 I'll be studying History, which has been my dream since my teenage years. I know I'll be busier than ever, but I'm really excited about it!

Can I ask a question about your story? Where did the name Pomegranates and Honey come from? I also super love Jean's character but your OC sheet for her said her name was Jennah? Did you change it? Also if she knew Stan and Wendy broke up, why was she flirting with her in Chapter 1?

So my friend actually gave me the suggestion. Originally it was supposed to just be a typical OC/Canon story? Have it solely be about that, but honestly it wasn't fun to write. There was nothing there, empty kinda?

So I decided to scrap that, and that's when I saw some fanart that invoked such a strong feeling in me that I knew that's what I wanted it! A coming of age story!

Pomegranates are a very strong symbol and I can't go into it too much because I feel like it'll give beats of the story away.

In other stories (that I've never posted and never will) I've described Jean's eyes like pools of Honey. A rich brown with subtle gold hue. Something like that lol?

Jennah is her real name, but she introduces herself as Jean. She just doesn't like the sound of her own name, it brings up some pretty painful memories. I don't think that little fact will ever come up in the story, so I don't mind sharing this little tid-bit!

As for the last question. Hmm, I don't think she really thought about it? I showed a little instance of it in chapter 2. She tends to speak before she thinks. On top of being a natural flirt, that's her favorite way to hype up her friends! That and if you show her any ounce of kindness, she tends to cling to it.

More of that will come up later though I'm afraid that's all I can spare!

been seeing homies get deep into "the terror" and making me want to rewatch SO i spent two hours in the dead of night reading the wiki/the subreddit/other linked articles and like. one of those articles was deadass fucked up

there was a woman who spoke inuktitut who was writing a book containing a lot of inuit oral histories, and in nunavut she was able to hear passed-down recollections of when survivors from the franklin expedition were passing through

and like. i can't imagine being an inuit family/group, knowing that europeans exist but having never seen them, seeing 8-9 shambling, blue-skinned, cold-to-the-touch out-of-their-minds white men come wandering by. they invited the men inside their igloos for warmth, for food, to be hospitable. the men refused to eat, refused to speak, and when trade was offered, clutched their possessions close and refused to entertain the idea of trade. this was, offputting, to say the least. the group set them up in their own igloo, with their own fire, and left three whole seals for them to eat. and then they fled cause what the FUCK get out of there. they came back in a few days to check on the strangers. the three seals were completely untouched, while all of the men had killed and eaten each other

i mean. fuck dude. there are obviously pretty dark angles to view the franklin expedition from– honestly can't think of a good angle, it's pure colonialism and british exceptionalism– but that specific interaction, that inuit group who were living lives as normal until a dozen fucking walking dead showed up and did cannibalism. no wonder that story got passed down, i'd be shitting my pants if i saw that
