There's one specific aspect of Deadpool & Wolverine that's important in relation to the queerness of Wade/Logan:

The fact that Vanessa isn't single.

Doesn't seem like people are talking about this so I'm going to be the one to say it I guess!

So… beyond trying to save his world / family, Wade's (flimsy) motivation is indeed partially motivated by Vanessa – or more specifically by things she said to him during their break up. He wants to figure out how he matters or how he can be a hero without being an Avenger, etc.

Shitty as it is that Vanessa is relegated to being a two-dimensional motivation mouthpiece… She and Wade didn't just break up; they tell us immediately that she's seeing another guy. By my memory, Wade never disrespects that, not even jokingly. And the plot isn't framed as a quest to ~win back the girl~ either.

The end scene underlines this too, where [SPOILER] he says he did it for her even if she doesn't want him or whatever the line is. Their little hand touch isn't really a romantic rekindling.

So, what am I getting at?

This all gives weight to Wade's mischievous flirting and (later) built connection with Logan.

If Wade and Vanessa were framed as "taking a break," or if she was still single and he was trying to win her back, the queerness with Logan wouldn't work quite as well. There'd be more room to claim it's an unserious joke.

But Vanessa's moved on.

Wade, taking LOGAN home, did too.

waow 2024 is almost dead!!! gone too soon. feels like it’s been a big year for me art-wise for many reasons, BUT. i’m making 2025 bigger.... hopefully....i’ve made some art goals for next year which i won’t explain in detail but they boil down to 1) do more studies 2) tackle my weaknesses (backgrounds, dynamic poses/angles, uhhh lots of stuff i am a one trick pony right now) 3) get into drawing comics, all of which are in preparation for 4) take my story ideas more seriously and get started on one of the many graphic novels living in my head. i have one in mind i HAVE to complete in my lifetime or i will die, but firstly i’m gonna mess around with some little standalone svanhildr comics perhaps. goat fans rejoice.

ABSOLUTELY. My controversial take is that Kate and John have fucked before and that's why they are so good at this. Hear me out though, it was totally platonic in both instances.

The first was just circumstance to be honest. They had been stuck in the desert for months and were both needing to blow off some steam. The second was when Price wanted help figuring out if he could bottom when he first took an interest in Ghost and Kate is a good friend so obviously they spent a pleasant weekend figuring out if he liked taking dick (Kate's strap got quite the work out).

Point being, they are so incredibly pragmatic. If they spot that you seem a little frustrated, their go to is lazy head while getting fed on a Sunday afternoon. Doesn't bother them none to work together, Price between your legs and Kate feeding you bites of fancy snacks to go with the fancy aperitives as casual as anything.

It would definitely take some adjusting to how easily they work together and how casually they treat deep intimacy. They don't touch one another the way they touch you. With you they are doing it out of sheer enjoyment, the times they touch each other it's pure pragmatism. John needs hardening up but you are busy being suffocated under Kate's pussy? She's fine blowing him to get him ready to take you. Kate is fucking you with her strap but needs a little help getting there herself? That level of platonic bond means they are so incredible as partners when it comes to all walks of life. There isn't jealousy or competitiveness between them. It's overwhelming just how quickly they become an integral part of your life. They're not super subtle about the fact they would love you barefoot and pregnant and never working another day in your life (if you protest they will kindly back off, but they're going to continue to make your life as luxurious and comfortable as you'll let them). They'll both propose, get you rings, have a big ceremony. It'll be John on paper because that gives you legal rights in every country so it just makes the most sense, but the two of them are taking you on a wildly luxurious honeymoon together followed by an individual one with each of them.

You're convinced that you can't go wrong; Iwaizumi has adored, praised, and cherished your body so many times that you can't imagine him ever being disappointed in anything you do.

You slowly dance to the music, gently swaying your body while maintaining eye contact with him. You do a little twirl, just enough to let your skirt flutter a bit, earning an approving hum from him. "Always so fucking pretty for me," he runs his hands over his pants and takes a deep breath, his eyes tracking every movement of your body.

"What should I take off first, Hajime?" you ask, batting your eyelashes as seductively as possible. You feel a shiver run down your spine at his expectant gaze, your body growing warmer as you stand before him, swaying to the music.

"Oh? Should I keep it on, then?" You let your hands fall to your sides, ensuring that you continue to sway to the music and let your hands wander down your sides.

"Baby," he groans in frustration, his hands caressing the fabric of his pants once more, and you decide to give in. You bring your hands back to the hem of your shirt and slowly lift it. You expose inch by inch, his gaze fixed on the movement of your hands as it trails down your chest, leaving your upper body clad only in an almost see-through lacy bra. Once you've finally pulled the shirt over your head, you hear his breath hitch. You know how much he adores the bra and the matching panties, that's why you chose to wear them today to surprise him - the perfect choice as it seems.

"What next?"
