Hello everyone! With the poll on my main blog, many ppl have voted for a psd tutorial so here it is! Here are some things to note:

✦ ・ There is NO fixed way on making psds and this is simply my way of going through it.

✦ ・ this will be a in depth tutorial so it'll show u my whole process! Skip to step 3 for actual process.

✦ ・ there are other tutorials on tumblr that i def recommend! Such as @/canarysage and @/imbermagnvs

1. Lets get straight to the point! Choose the image(s) you want, i often make a moodboard first but thats optional and you can just choose ur image. (not sure if anyone needs this but to import or place images, press file -> open)

2. Next, make a folder by pressing the layer button (the 5th button the right based on my image)

3. Firstly, i use hue/saturation to make her a lil more vibrant so my colours can be more uhhh vibrant or vivid.

4. Now, every editors fav! Selective colour 💓 I'm not really good at explaining so pls visit canarysage to see what it is! It's good to tweak some colours without affecting the other colours.

5. I recommend adding more selective colours as i added few more but cuz of the limit i can't show u help but i recommend adding 2-3 anyways! This is the psd so far which seems okay but to me it doesn't pop out so I'll be adding on

7. So i decided to add hue/saturation w the same reason as point 3.

8. Next, i use vibrance to not oversaturate the image.

9. Now i use brightness and contrast, It’s often used for quick n straightforward edits to enhance visibility.

10. Let's add another hue/saturation layer cuz why not! Please remember to experiment w what u do since this is how you can have your own "style" of making ur edits.

10. Next, let's add levels! I recommend checking out canarysage since they explained it better than i ever could.

11. Now, another layer of selective colour

and tada! This is my psd so far but i love those psds that r bright so I'll add on but this is optional!

12. Now let's add a channel mixer to create some custom effects <3

And here's the psd outcome! You'd wanna save it as save as psd (i HIGHLY recommend you put ur psd on a 100x100 canvas w a pic so it doesn't take much space)

ANOTHER NOTE!! i always test my psd on dark skin characters afterwards and made adjustments when needed i realised my selective colours made em abit red so feel free to adjust if ur using this tutorial! If u made it this far drop a follow 😈

Whitney is gonna shit on it but refuses to give it back. "Fine, fine! I'll eat it." He really loves it and comes to expect it but he'll never say it, just yells at you and asks where his food is.

Kylar is over the moon and wants to save it so you have to tell him to eat it. He eats everything, praising and thanking you once the food is gone.

Robin is very thankful and compliments you on how good everything is. He knows you can only make so much at the orphanage since Bailey limits ingredients.

hiiiii im rly enjoying ur occultist posting :3 i have a wuastion that it seems you might be in a position to answer: does it make sense in your opinion for him to be wearing a turban or is that just orientalism? and/or do you have a headcanon for him related to that? from what i understand it rly isn't that common for arab muslim men to be wearing them at all times, and while the characters' backgrounds/worldbuilding is ofc v vague, it kinda seems to me like they just went off a bunch of stereotypes without bothering to put further thought into it and that's why he's designed to be wearing one but if there's a way to adopt that design into sth that makes sense and deepens his character a little bit i wanna hear it :3

the turban style is less common today but it WAS a popular style in the middle ages. its believed to have originated in mesopotamia give or take 4000 years ago.

Golden Middle Age has a good video on this! we also have some examples in historical art (check out ibn sinna, the islamic golden age and also like almost every ottoman ruler)

i personally theorize that lovecraft's abdul al-hazred was inspired by ahmed al-buni (author of shams al-ma'arif/"knowledge of the sun") and other golden age scholars considering that al-hazred canonically lived sometime during that era. i like Lets Talk Religion's video on shams al-ma'arfi.

here are some of my headcanons for DD al-hazred and how he might wear his kufiyeh. while lovecraft's al-hazred is yemeni, i headcanon DD al-hazred to be from like. a fantasy al-andalus (with fantasy yemeni and syrian ancestry). (ive kind of always seen the DD world as Not earth)

so, for history's sake it's accurate headgear! there's many ways to wear a kufiyeh, and nowadays the turban is less popular among arabs but i think thats really recent and it could be dependent on the amnt of industrialization.

i do have some things about the rest of his fit, that i mostly chalk up to the fact he went to school in fantasy england but still prefers to wear a robe and kufiyeh (i can relate except not the england part). the things that i can say are Really Delightful for me to see personally

on topic of kufiyehs, i like kufiyehs that are tassled bc theyre so fun and fashionable. that's a personal preference and i have drawn him that way before (its somewhere on my blog)

i have the nablus kufiyeh from hirbawi and it's my favorite.

i highly recommend looking up archival / antique photos of different countries to get a sense of what that particular culture's fashion looks like. these countries also often have museum pages or heritage websites available in english (machine translate is also an option)

i would avoid french and british art. you can actually filter by place and time on most digital collections like the met, the british museum, or university of chicago (UC doesnt get specific though rifp)

i'd be more than happy to! happy holidays to you as well! here's the kind of poster i'll walk you through how to make:

the most important thing you need to think about with this type of poster is which shots will blend best with each other. i recently made a blending tutorial for another anon and you can find it here. in it, i go a bit more in depth on what types of shots will blend best, and you can also check out the blending tutorial tag on my resource blog, @gifmakerresource.

overall, dark on dark blends the best. the lighter your scene(s), the harder it's going to be to see. when making this poster, i went in knowing i wanted to use this silhouetted shot of van helsing. silhouetted shots are one of the best kinds of shots you can blend with because the silhouette itself will be much darker than the surrounding area.

this is what i started with (after cropping and sharpening). the dimensions i used are 540px x 700px but the height can be whatever you want. next, i wanted to focus on lightening the background and further darkening his silhouette.

here are my coloring layers (which will, of course, vary with every shot and every movie):

and here are the specifics for each layer in order from bottom (first) to top (last)*:

*note: the blue selective color layer also makes the same adjustments to cyan

i created a new layer (ctrl+shift+n) and painted over the extra-bright parts around his head for later blending. this is a layer i added after the fact once i found all the shots i wanted to use and blend together.

this is the second shot i used:

once cropped, sharpened, and converted to a smart object, i bring it over to the existing canvas, making sure it's properly aligned with ctrl+t, and set the blending mode to screen.

here are my coloring layers:

and the details for each (and if you're wondering, to color code your layers, right click in the box where the eye is and select your color):

and this is what the gif looks like prior to using a layer mask:

it's not terrible, but i wasn't happy with how much of the second gif could be seen outside of the silhouette. this is also a good illustration of how dark blends with dark best, compared to dark and light or light and light. i grouped together the second gif and the coloring layers (select the appropriate layers and ctrl+g) and then added a layer mask to the group by clicking this at the bottom of the layers panel:

when using a layer mask, you're only working with 2 colors: black and white. using a soft circular brush (0% hardness), as you can see in the selected thumbnail titled Group 3, i used black to color all around van helsing's silhouette. if you make a mistake when coloring, simply press x to switch to white and brush over the desired area and your gif will reappear. it's a way to "erase" a layer without permanently deleting it and is something i use frequently!

i used another layer mask so the gif was only visible right around the top of his hat:

and the coloring layers (note the gradient map is applied to the gif using a clipping mask [right click on the gradient map layer and choose 'create clipping mask'] so it only is applied the the layer immediately below it [the third gif] and not everything below it):

for the typography, i don't really remember why i didn't just use a transparent png of the movie logo other than knowing i had the actual font they use on the poster already installed. you can find it here (dafont). at the top of this screenshot, you can see my font settings and at the bottom, you can see the blending modes i added:

using the same font, i added these two layers and positioned them where i wanted:

the names layer is 24pt and adventure is 36pt. to create/position the typography, i was referencing one of the movie posters btw!

for the final two layers, i used the font sf movie poster, which you can download here (dafont) and decreased the opacity of both to 30%:

ignore the warning symbols - i had to replace the font files and ps is mad at me

the "larger" letters are just capitals while the smaller ones are lowercase. i'm pretty sure this is the typical font used at the bottom of movie posters. i believe i either typed all this out referencing one of the posters or i went through the imdb page for the movie and went through the cast and crew sections.

and that's it! we have our finished gif! making a poster like this can result in a large file size, so keep in mind that tumblr's upload limit per gif is 10mb. i believe this gif is 45 frames, which is probably pushing it with these dimensions. if you finish your gif and find that it's over the limit, i HIGHLY recommend using ezgif's optimizer. you upload your file and then adjust the lossy slider and you'll be surprised just how much it drops the file size down without a noticeable difference. i also use this site to convert webp files to gifs/pngs when necessary.

She's very affectionate! She loves love, just not for the public. Anything and everything goes when behind closed doors. Regardless of the status of your relationship, she prefers to stay away from prying eyes but she has no problems hugging, kissing, and talking to you for hours.

B - Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How did the friendship start?)

You and Kitana met when you were kids and have been inseparable since. She's very caring and attentive to everything. When you're around her, sometimes you forget she's royalty; very down to earth. Even when you guys were younger, she would beg her parents to let you work for them.

C - Cuddles (Do they like cuddles? How would they cuddle?)

Before, she only allowed her family to touch her, Kitana isn't a fan of skin ship. But when it comes to you she warmed up to it quickly, hence why she could be with you for hours. As soon as she's away from you though she's right back to where she was before.

D - Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How good are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Kitana hasn't really ever thought about getting married because she was focused on helping Mileena. Would she want to settle down? Not entirely sure, but she really does like being around you! As for cooking and cleaning I think she'd be decent at it since she has everything done for her but I can see Sindel teaching her and Mileena.

E - Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

I think she'd be straightforward about, but still very somber. For whatever reason you two can't be together anymore she's very upset about it but knows she must get it over with. Kitana would definitely want to end on good terms too, she'd leave off with either a hug or holding your hands one last time.

F - Fiancé (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Adding onto when she hasn't thought about marriage, she'd fully expect you to either A) do a private but very sentimental proposal or B) an extravagant proposal during a big event. There's really no in between but both would really win her over. She'd want to get married right away!

G- Gentle (How gentle are they, physically and emotionally?

Kitana has a kind soul. She may not always show it because that's just the way of a fighter, but she's very gentle with anyone she feels deserves it. From her physical touches to her words she's a well-rounded person. She's pretty good at toggling it on and off too.

H - Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Kitana's hugs are warm and meaningful. She's doesn't hug just anybody since she's not a fan of skin ship like I mentioned before. She's gotten used to hugging Mileena before doing solo missions but other than her parents she doesn't really hug anyone. But when she does they always have a purpose.

I - I love you (How fast do they say this?)

It would take her a while to say it first unless she's really in love with someone. If she does say it first, she'd probably wanna do something like a letter to you and sign off with it just to make it extra special. If you said it first, she wouldn't hesitate to say it back.

J - Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?)

Kitana doesn't get jealous. She thinks of herself too highly to worry about things like that. In any case she'd apply that to you too, watching you from afar and knowing nothing will happen with that person obviously flirting with you. I mean, who the hell would willingly fumble a princess anyway??

K - Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Kitana's kisses are soft and thoughtful. She's the kind of person to give you surprise kisses if you're alone. She loves to kiss you on the cheek, forehead, and lips and she likes her cheek and the back of her hand to be kissed.

L - Little ones (How are they around children?)

Kitana loves kids. She loves being around them, telling them stories, teaching them some kombat knowledge, you name it. She smiles ear to ear whenever she hears them coming, cheering her name when she comes back from a mission.

M - Mornings (How are mornings spent with them?)

If she's not busy with royal tasks, trust she is much more willing to stay in bed. She's used to getting up early and training, but with you she'll either get up and let you sleep or re-wrap her arms around you and fall back asleep.

N - Nights (How are nights spent with them?)

Once finished with her 12 step nightly routine she will sometimes read in bed to calm her mind down from the day. She really enjoys quality time with you in any capacity. Sitting in comfortable silence, pillow talk, letting you watch her routine before bed, you name it!

It would take her quite some time to open up. The biggest burden on her heart is most likely her father's death, as probably for Mileena and Sindel too. Very slow to anger unless you insult her family, her skills, or intelligence. Then she channels her anger into absolutely whooping ass.

Every. Single. Detail. She's like that with everybody she loves. Just little acts of love here and there when she has the time and super attentive. You mention something you like one time and suddenly it appears in your quarters/shared bedroom like every night.

R - Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Kitana loves sparring with you. Mileena has been her main sparring partner since they were kids, but a fresh face and fighting style was always welcomed. Especially because you two always go out to eat afterwards, but you can tell she secretly loves when you have the upper hand sometimes. Gives her a challenge, and ya look quite good doing so 👀

S - Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Kitana is very protective, always has been. If the public knows of your relationship, she would try everything in her power to keep you from roaming the streets. But if you must, you'll have a guard with you, even if you are perfectly capable of your own safety. She's also not expecting you to go to great lengths to protect her like her guards. She really prefers to take care of herself.

T - Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Kitana puts 100% into everything she does. It's how she was raised. So fully expect all these things to be the most extravagant and well thought out things you've ever seen. And the gifts are typically sentimental, although she might get the idea to randomly gift you some crazy expensive jewelry to match hers.

U - Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

The only bad habits she has is being a workaholic and terribly worrisome. The word "break" is foreign to her and she may even work herself to exhaustion. The same worry that goes into Mileena's wellbeing also extends to you, mostly geared towards your safety.

V - Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

She's very concerned, she kinda has to be. Her every move is watched by the public eye whenever she's present. From her looks down to her mannerisms and demeanor. From a young age her and Mileena have had all these things engraved in their minds some birth.

W - Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Yes and no. By default her concerns have to do with Outworld and the empire at all times. However, she does find herself longing for your presence if she hasn't seen you in a while.

X - Xtra (A random headcanon for them)

I have a hc that if she were to be introduced to Earthrealm cuisine, she'd crave it like all the time. I'm talking acquired taste, ESPECIALLY if she gets her hands on Madam Bo's food? Omg

Y - Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

In general, she hates selfishness and arrogance the most. She's very confident in herself and her abilities, but she'll never boast or brag, she'd rather put her money where her mouth is.

Z - Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

I feel like she sleeps on her back and is the lightest sleeper ever. The slightest bit of noise has her up and ready to slice somebody up. If she sleeps on her side she's especially sleepy and comfortable, but her back is never towards the door.

Hii, I saw your fic and I thought that the name is kinda familiar and I was righttt! I read through your blog and I agree with u esp with the ah l*stappen. For me, I don’t really get the lore of the relationship. And tendency is that they usually drag other drivers to further their uhm visions ✨ but not really in a good way.

So here are my opinions on the things you've asked me:

1. Charlos: I seriously love them. But recently they remind me of a divorced couple. (I'm a child of divorce. I'm talking about Charlos btw. Not actually a child of divorce) And it HURTS!!! if you told me a year or two ago that I'd be going through this, I'd laugh in your face. But I love Charlos and the angst, the humor, and the clinginess. They're honestly so cute. They're not my fav (we all know who my fav is) but they definitely made it to my top 7. But also, I feel like Carlos fans and Charles fans have different opinions abt Charlos. 2. Carcar: IT'S HONESTLY SO GOOD!! It's such a random ship bc it came out of nowhere and we all started loving it. The jokes that are made (check Oscar's tt comment section) are so funny. It's probably in my top 5 because I love random funny ships like them. I also love the whole "we share a mutual good friend who wants us to get along but we low-key don't think we ever will" type trope. But Carlos has come forward and talked about their "rivalry" or lack of, I should say. So I approve of Carcar

3. Versainz: idk if I have talked about them, but if I have, oh well I'm gonna talk about them again. Versainz is the best ever. I miss them being teammates and the whole "we're both nepo-babies that need to make our dad's proud and we're fighting for the same seat" I WISH Carlos got that seat, tho I'm happy for Checo. Diluc had been looking around the lesser patroled areas of Mondstadt to search for the Architect

He didn't even need those incompetent knights to tell him their god had finally descended

He already saw the signs long before Mondstadt

Bc youve been in Wolvendom, the area has flourished over time, more fish in the water, more game to hunt and bigger, crows making circles in the sky despite there being no corpse

And one of the closest places to you,

Is the Dawn Winery.

Diluc's security against Venti began to hold up better, the staff didn't have to clean as much things like dirt or weather damage to the manor,

His hawk had never been faster delivering his letters, he almost thought the little guy had been drugged with something

He patroled Stormterror's Lair, and deep in the woods surrounding the manor that the knights hadn't bother to go into

Afterall, he figured you'd never had a mortal form before, so u were unlikely to fend for urself for very long in the woods lol

so he wanted to find u quick (aww softy :')

He even made a trip out to the Thousand Wind Temple and Dragonspine (he did report that one to the knights, he didn't want Amber, Bennett, or Creator-forbid Klee, being the few pyro users to have to explore it)

Finally, after doing the further away locations, siginificant in history and rich with leftover magic

Diluc figured that's where you might land first, so he saved Wolvendom for last

It would at least let him check on that wolf kid and maybe get to talk to him long enough to ask him if he's seen anything unusual.

The lord of Dawn Winery manor heads into the Wolvendom woods, just as sunset colors the trees...

It was a Friday evening, the sun was setting, the weather was pleasant and it was time for all of the Lupical to come together and eat a big feast!! :)

About once a month, Andrius will come out for a few nights and dine with all of yall

Hes an old wolf give him a break, he takes long naps

So u cook lots of Mondstadt favorites to eat on and a few Liyue dishes too

Razor, ur favorite helper, has helped u finish the last dish and is now romping around with the puppies bless <3

U guys have dragged ur coffee table dining table setup out to sit and eat at

Andrius lets out a not too loud, not too quiet howl, and as the wolves, Razor and you lmao join in

It filled the air of Wolvendom like no howl before it, as he used the glowing lampgrass to help light the path deeper

He scans the woods, and figures he'll search the woods besides the path after he gets to that old stone carved pit-

Diluc sniffs the air, and squints deeper into the forest

The black branches shade the way ahead, but just barely... he can see the flicker of orange and blue light?

He summons his claymore, bracing it on his shoulder, and creeps into the treeline to better hide him

You swear to god (dammit swear to.. you??) someone is watching you.

You look around the piles of fluffy doggos, happy and stuffed full they r slowly forming puppy piles

Andrius is finishing his meat platter, also sitting on all four legs on the ground

Razor is splayed on his back beside you, eyes closed, his feet sticking out the other side of the table, u chuckle at him

But not a single Lupical seems to be looking at you.

Gulping down your last few bites, you scan the treeline

U refuse to be that bitch in a horror movie where their gut says smth is off and they brush it off or barely look at their surroundings

Turning around to the treeline behind you, u see something... red fur?

U sit up some more, peering over the bushes at the bottom of the trees

You meet a pair of warm brown eyes, widened like they're just as shocked to see you

As u notice his familiar red high ponytail (but also not?? Its weird going from 2D to 3D and still recognizing bitches)

U peer down at his chest, as he carefully stands out of the foliage-

That familiar star shaped button that u can press for the character menu screen, the same thats on Razor, on Benny, on Fischl, on Lisa-

Hovers over Diluc's chest.

Diluc is in the bush, observing the human(???) stranger (he really doesnt want to attract the attention of that.. giant spirit wolf thing)

The figure sitting at a ... table?? (He can barely process all these absurdities at once, hes only got so much brain space)

Has sensed his presence, and as he grips his claymore, ready to demand answers,

Razor startles, and jumps up, smelling the pyro user, he summons his weapon-

The figure locks eyes with him, and all he sees is gold.

Diluc drops his claymore.

I will always support people with my disorder, even if they support people who make a mockery of it. Do you know what DNI stands for, Anon? it stands for Do Not Interact. It's exceedingly simple.

I doubt you'd care enough about the reason as to why I have such a simple, easy to follow rule for my blogs. Yet I'll always be willing to repeat myself. Pro endos and the endogenic community heavily traumatized me and my system.

We were avidly groomed by multiple people who either identified or supported endos. We were told point blank our trauma would never be enough, that the abuse we went through as a child and young teenager wasn't actual abuse in any way and that we should be thankful to have it so good compared to others.

We were manipulated into believing that our trauma was point blank - not real. The symptoms we showed meant we were endogenic and that we deserved much worse treatment if we ever disagreed with that. We were manipulated into sending adults sexualized photos of ourselves to prove that we supported endos against those bigoted anti-endo sysmeds!!

We were threatened with being doxxed, among other things, if we talked about our experiences publicly. It sounds so stupid as an adult who Knows Better - but I need to be kind to our younger self. We just wanted to fit in, we craved approval, and we didn't care how we got it or from who just so long as we were liked and valued.

Got to the point where we eventually met our ex partner system, one that over time convinced us that alter death was a real thing and that they were able to system hop and kill our alters for stepping out of line.

Multiple people routinely used our trauma against us (after they couldn't claim it wasn't real anymore) to cause us to forcibly split new parts to mold into however they wanted. Oftentimes, they'd attempt to mold the alters into a new efuck buddy <3 our in our ex partner systems case yet another fictive to roleplay with and date <3<3

It took us far too long to recognize that as harmful and abusive behavior because it was heavily normalized in the spaces we were in. We are WELL aware that not every single pro endo or endogenic person is like that.

That said, I don't think its unreasonable for not wanting them to interact with the damage a certain subset of the community has caused me. Even still with how the majority of the community continuously harms people with severe disorders with the blatant misinformation they push - willingly.
