Thank you so much for the support. I've seen more people mention how excited they were to find cute, mild, and nonnsexual regressions for Wade, so I've decided to put it on A03 for more people to enjoy.

I actually was nervous about posting them in general because of the stigma around it but seeing how supportive you all have been (I dont know why im even shocked) it's made me a little more confident in my writing. I was abused quite a bit as a child, and while I don't regress, I do have a special attachment to my stuffed animals and find comfort in kids' shows. Annnddd, as someone who was working towards becoming a geneticist? It's comforting to know that some very intelligent and successful people also do.

While you're waiting for me to write more or upload to A03, have some HCs:

Depending on what's going on, he fluctuates between 5-8.

Wade has 3 caregivers, Al, Vanessa, and Logan. He loves them all so much but certian care givers are for certain things. Al (Mama) is he goes too for booboos, Ness (Mommy) is who takes him out the most, to the park and doctors (If things get too out of hand, she can pull the "He's my disabled son you bastard" card, and Logan (Kitty) is general. The one youll find when wade is casually colouring or playing tea party with.

He'll take "sippies" but hes a bit too old for them because he chews the tops off.

Cereal, mac and cheese, pizza, bassically anything he already eats as an adult, including spicy tacos.

He doesn't have a lot of toys (and if he does, they're from a give away or a dumpster) so is very possesive of them and will instantly get upset if you try to take them away or "hurt" them.

Wade is the type to just chill with you on the couch and eat snacks if you don't have the energy to play or take him to the park. Even as a child, he was very emotionally intelligent, and it shows.

Most kids would have tantrums, but he seems to either be understanding or go cry in silence while isolated (its what hes used too)

As much as people say he's a potty mouth, I don't see it. Not yet anyway. Sure he'll say "bad words" sometimes but as someone whos used to being screamed at to shut up all the time, I believe he talks so much as an adult BECAUSE he wasn't allowed as a kid so he's more of an observer unless you are unfortunately his favorite and then hes going to tell you random facts.

Oftentimes, the "perfect child" are ones that are independent, quiet, and who monitor their emotions/ actions around other kids and adults. This means being forced to act older than you actually are, walking on eggshells around adults and trying to do things by himself.

He likes to wear clothes that are too big for him rather then tight. (Bonus points if they're a hoodie or a sweater)

He likes baths and sometimes will tell you that his "Skin hurts" when really it's just itchy/peeling/ needs lotion.

He's not big on babytalk but "puppy" "mama" "mommy" "park?" "Kitty scratch bad guys" "I watch tv?" "Go home?" "Play horses?" Are common. Its either small unfinished sentneces or endless rambling with full sentences that repeat themself. Logan has once heard "Did you know-?" 30 times once all in 10 minutes

He has a stuffy of a Wolverine named Fluffy from Kitty, a unicorn named Buttercream from Mommy, and a bear shaped dog toy from Mama. In her defense she didn't know it was a dog toy (because shes blind and cant read duh) but Wade loves it more that it squeaks.

Because kidWade (He is "NOT little", he's a "Big boy") is bigger than them, he has issues playing a little... rough... with other kids. He has infact shoved a kid into the sand while playing tag.

Wade is very erm... possesive.. over his caregivers and will act out if he believes Kitty is ignoring him. Because of their history, hes even more prone to acting out with Ness and has gone as far as telling someone they looked like a burnt quesodilla that "had a baby with a wrinkled cucumber" before (and will do it again)

Flappy hands. Giggles. Screeches. That is all that needs to be said.

Wade likes music, arts, and crafts. Physical exercise is nice too but naps are needed afterwards.

Naps must be willing. If you tell him to go take a nap he'll just stomp his feet and cry that hes "being good" so "doesn't need one" bassically, naps are punishment.

Tw for sensitive topics such as mental and physical health

The worst part about having Wade isn't that he is a "brat" or "bad", no infact wade barley ever is a brat. He's very people pleasing because he just wants as much affection as possible. it's the fact that you can't trick him or keep him from doing something. He's too smart.

"Come on baby, we're going to the park"

"Yay!!- wait.... Mommy... Mommy the park is that way...Mommy this is how you go to the mean doctors! They're gonna rip my teeth out!"

It's even HARDER to care for a kid who can escape literally anything and can run all the way home if you upset him too badly. The only thing really you can do is call a different cg and double up on the reassurance. (And maybe a bribe)

Another thing is that just because he's in this headspace doesn't mean his issues are gone. Between the nightmares, the flashbacks, the scary hallucinations that he can't understand, intrusive thoughts about harming a person, impusive thoughts, and just straight up having to deal with cancer on top of it all, etc.

Do you know how hard it is to explain to a child that they're nauseous and exhausted because the cells inside of him are eating the other cells, dying, and healing all at the same time?

This week, the miscellany begins with the first hesitant signs of an emerging, post-neoliberal order. The FTC, under direction of the force-of-nature that is Lina Khan, has brought its long-awaited case antitrust case against Amazon. I am very excited about this. Disoriented, even.

When was the last time you greeted every day with a warm feeling because high officials in the US government were working for the betterment of every person in the land? It's enough to make one giddy. Plus, the New York Times let me call Amazon "the apex predator of our platform era"! Now that it's in the "paper of record," it's official:

Now, lefties have been predicting capitalism's imminent demise since The Communist Manifesto, but any fule kno that the capitalist word for "crisis" also translates as "opportunity." Like the bedbugs that mutated to thrive in clouds of post-war DDT, capitalism has adapted to each crisis, emerging in a new, more virulent form:

But "anything that can't go on forever will eventually stop" (Stein's Law). Perhaps our mistake was in waiting for capitalism to give way to socialism, rather than serving as a transitional phase between feudalism and…feudalism.

What's the difference between feudalism and capitalism? According to Yanis Varoufakis, it comes down to whether we value rents (income you get from owning things) over profits (income you get from doing things):

By that metric, the FTC's case against Amazon is really a case against feudalism. Through predatory pricing and acquisitions, Amazon has turned itself into a chokepoint that every merchant, writer and publisher has to pass through in order to reach their customers. Amazon charges a fortune to traverse that chokepoint (estimates range from 45% to 51% of gross revenues) and then forces sellers to raise their prices everywhere else when they hike their Amazon prices so they can afford Amazon's tolls. Now, feudalism isn't a straightforward proposition. Like, are you sure you mean feudalism? Maybe you mean "manorialism" (they're easy to mix up):

Plus, much of what we know about the "Dark Ages" comes from grifter doofuses like Voltaire, a man who was capable of dismissing the 800 year Holy Roman Empire with a single quip ("neither holy, roman, nor an empire"). But the reality is a lot more complicated, gnarly and interesting.

Now, while it's true that Enlightenment thinkers gave medieval times a bum rap, it's likewise true that a key element of Enlightenment justice is transparency: justice being done, and being seen to be done. One way to distinguish "modern" justice from "medieval" trials is to ask whether the public is allowed to watch the trial, see the evidence, and understand the conclusion.

Here again, there is evidence that capitalism was a transitional phase between feudalism and feudalism. The Amazon trial has already been poisoned by farcical redactions, in which every key figure is blacked out of the public record:

This is part of a trend. The other gigantic antitrust case underway right now, against Google, has turned into a star chamber as well, with Judge Amit P Mehta largely deferring to Google's frequent demands to close the court and seal the exhibits:

Google's rationale for this is darkly hilarious: if the public is allowed to know what's happening in its trial, this will be converted into "clickbait," which is to say, "The public is interested in this case, and if they are informed of the evidence against us, that information will be spread widely because it is so interesting":

In 2023, the world comes at you fast. There's an epic struggle over the future of corporate dominance playing out all around us. I mean, there are French antitrust enforcers kicking down doors of giant tech companies and ransacking their offices for evidence of nefarious anticompetitive plots:

Crowley dying in s3

I wasn't sure how to start this meta. I've had this theory with possible (big possible) evidence sitting around for ages and I just didn't know what to do with the information.

After I'd already had this information, I only seen a hand full of others talk about it, but none have touched on it in the same way as the things I've found in my research.

So let's get on with it. For reference I'm going to tag @nightingalecottage and their lovely post here. I really recommend reading it. This theory only saw the light of day because of their post and I told them I would tag them with my meta since it lends a lot to it. And I promised myself that I would finish this for them.

Now for the meat and potatoes. I'll break it all down about how I found this information and how it might lend some theory about possible plot to s3.

This got really long so I put a cut.

The facts were these.

To start I was doing research for a fic I'm working on and the details don't matter much but I'd planned to make my 'human' crowley a barrister. I was googling famous barristers for inspiration.

This lead me to wikipedia naturally as you do. And as I was looking over the list I saw this.

After seeing this name on the list of barristers in popular culture I had a mini freakout. Mainly because two things NG is a huge fan of Charles Dickens and A Tale of Two Cities is on the bookclub reading list. And I kept thinking why did this seem familiar and this is why.

A Tale of Two Cities is on the list of books that they recommend we read or were found in s2. So after I stopped freaking out I immediately went to the wiki page for this character. I wasn't too familiar with this book so I wanted to know more. As I was now super invested and intrigued. And found this.

Sydney Carton

I couldn't help be blown away by the similarities here between Sydney Carton and a certain depressed snake demon from s2. Morosely asking Shax on a bench in the first episode "What's the point of it all?"

For some context, in the novel Sydney Carton and his later best friend Charles Darnay share a striking semblance and are easily mistaken for each other. This is how Sydney is then able to make the switch with Darnay in the end saving his life.

This brings to mind of the lore that we know that Crowley and Aziraphale were once long ago one character and split into two. Also with the ideal casting choice that Terry Pratchett wanted one actor to play both roles. That would have been really interesting and funny. Also this plays into our favorite duo MS and DT having not worked together before because they were up for the same roles.

Let's move on to

Charles Darnay

Darnay resents his uncle's views much how Aziraphale resents certain aspects of heaven, but is never able to act on very much.

The note about Darnay being tutor of French made me chuckle considering what we know about Aziraphale being terrible at French. With that whole scene centered around it in s2.

Ok so we all are well versed and familiar with the famous Bastille scene. We all know the one and its clear the inspiration here for it comes from A Tale of Two Cities possibly.

Side note Darnay and Carton are both in love with Lucie here, but I posit that in the case of Good omens, Aziraphale is possibly both Darnay and Lucie. Making him the best friend and love intrest.

And finally why does any of this matter and what does this have to do with Crowley maybe dying in s3 you ask?

The one important detail in all of this is that at the end of the novel Carton heroically sacrificed himself to save his best friend and for the women he loves. He feels it gave him purpose and felt as if his life finally had meaning.

Two things here. The scene in which Carton swaps places with Darnay being able to pass as him well enough to save his life. Is very reminiscent of our Body Swap from s1. As well as the idea that in s3 this could also happen, but in the sense that Crowley does it to save Aziraphale's life. I clearly have no idea how s3 will play out.

Now I'm not saying that s3 will be as dramatic as all of this. It is still a comedy at its core. As others have touched on in meta and in nightingalecottage's post there are many little hints that point to the similarities and the idea that Crowley maybe doomed by the narrative. In a way, I personally don't think that Crowley's hypothetical death will be permanent. I just do not see that happening at all. A temporary death I could definitely see and it could also serve to show how much Crowley truly means to Aziraphale. The shock of it would maybe be similar to how Crowley thought he lost Aziraphale in s1 and could be a parallel.

In the end this is all speculation and theory. Either way the idea of it all makes me vibrate and I needed to finally share this with someone else. They wouldn't have recommended this book if there wasn't some sort of meaning here right? And its entirely possible I'm looking in the wrong direction.

Overall there are many parallels and similarities here between A Tale of Two Cities and certain parts of Good Omens, I'm sure I may have missed some and I just wanted to end this now before it gets too long. When you arrived to your room, Nora was nowhere to be seen. She was probably out on another night shift. You kicked your slippers off and climbed into bed, hoping you could sleep away any thoughts that would come to you. Unfortunately, you were restless. More and more memories of Boston filled your brain, making it hard for you to sleep.

~flashback~

What do you mean they're dead?!" You yelled at Marlene, top firefly in Boston QZ.

She had found you in the hideout after she found Ellie and Riley in the mall.

Riley was with us. She wasn't dead while she was gone. She must have payed Ellie a visit and then took her to the abandoned mall. I found them both infected, I had no choice but to shoot them." She explained with a somber tone.

Your heart shattered into tiny pieces. Riley and Ellie were the only people you had after your parents were killed by fedra.

"I don't fucking believe you. They can't be..dead." Tears fell from your eyes as Marlene wrapped her arms around you. "It's okay. You can come with us, we're going to the Salt Lake City outpost. There are other kids your age, I'm sure you'll settle in just fine." She announced, soothing you by rubbing your back. You felt weak. Nothing made sense anymore, why would they go to the mall without you? Why would that just leave you out? At least you would have died with them if they only took you.

el°ve already sent one of my people to grab your belongings, we're leaving tomorrow night. You can either stay the night here in your hideout or you can come with me to our safe zone." She explained softly.

"I think I'll stay here tonight. Are you going to pick me up tomorrow?" You ask, wiping your tears.

"Yeah I'll send a group to collect you a few hours before we head out." She finished before walking out the door.

It had been an hour since you'd returned to your safe place, but you were restless. The thoughts of Ellie and Riley couldn't leave your head, you hated them for not including you, but you couldn't hold it against them.

You dragged yourself out of bed, deciding you were gonna go on a short walk around the settlement to clear your mind. Putting on your shoes, and grabbing your Walkman, you headed out the door.

A few minutes passed when your head collided with someone's back, knocking you to the floor and breaking your Walkman.

"Ow-..shit!" You yelled, scurrying to your now smashed Walkman.

"No no no no no!" You said, trying to hold yourself together. You still didn't know who knocked you over. You picked up the pieces of the beloved Walkman and stood up, facing the girl who you bumped into.

Calm down it's just a Walkman, can get you another." Abby spoke.

"Just a Walkman.?! Abby this has sentimental value. Nothing can replace it to me." You whisper yelled, trying not to wake up the whole WLF. Your voice was wobbling as you tried to keep your cool in front of Abby.

"I don't understand what your fucking problem is. You spat, walking back towards your room.

Before you knew it, you heard footsteps behind you.

For fuck sake Abby can you not take a hint?" You spat again, stopping in your tracks.

“Y/n just wait please..” Abby spoke, sincerity laced in her voice.

"What do you want?" You asked, clearly pissed off.

“I’m sorry." She started. You're joking, right?

“Just leave me alone..” you demanded, your voice wobbling as you ran back to your room and cried yourself to sleep.

“Y/n!! Hey. Riley is waiting for us at the hideout. We have a surprise for you!” Ellie announced in a sing-song voice, dragging you by the hand. “Cmon! We don’t have all day.” She said impatiently.

“I’m comin’, I’m comin’.” You giggled, following Ellie. When you arrived, all the lights were off and Ellie was navigating you around with your eyes closed.

“What’s going on els?” You asked, clearly confused.

“Shhh just trust me okay.” Ellie replied.

When you finally arrived to the main room of the hideout, you saw a birthday cake on the table, lit up with candles.

You covered your mouth as you gasp, you couldn’t believe they did this for you.

“Happy birthday!! We’re not gonna sing because we know how awkward that would be. Hurry up and make a wish so we can give you your gifts!” Riley said confidently.

“Gifts?” You asked, surprised.

“Hurry!!” Ellie yelled with excitement.

Once you blew out the candles, Riley turned the lights back on and they both handed you a present each, both wrapped up in old Christmas paper.

“I cant believe you both. You’re too kind.” You said, trying to not get emotional. You opened Riley’s first, revealing an old, but working, Walkman. You started jumping around happily, before hugging Riley and thanking her.

“Open mine now!” Ellie hurried you.

“Okay okay okay.” you giggled.

You opened her present to reveal a cassette, which you could play on the Walkman.

“No way! Is this queen?!” You gasped. You hugged Ellie, thanking her and Riley took the cassette and Walkman, connecting it to a speaker.

“How about we have some more fun?” She smiled before playing the first song; Bohemian Rhapsody. You all sang along, dancing. You had no care in the world in that moment, for you were the happiest you’d been in a long time.

There was a light tap at your door, shaking you from your sleep. Groaning, you dragged yourself out of bed and opened the door, immediately rolling your eyes.

“What do you not understand about the words ‘leave me alone’ abby?” You asked frustratedly.

“I just need to apologise and explain myself. I’ve been a really shitty person to you for no reason and i am not okay with myself because of it. It’s not fair for you, or anyone around us who has to listen. Just please, hear me out.” She begged, sincerity laced in her voice.

You sighed, interested in what she had to say before letting her in.

“Whatever you have to say, you better make it quick. I’ve gotta help out at the nursery in an hour.” You explained, sitting down and signalling for her to sit too.

“So why have you been such a dick to me since I got to Salt Lake City?” You asked.

“I was intimidated by you.” She said, not looking you in the eyes.

“Intimidated? Elaborate.” You demanded.

“You had lost so much in such a short amount of time, yet you had such high spirits. When you arrived to the outpost, Marlene explained your situation and asked me to befriend you. But when I met you, I felt intimidated by how strong you were mentally. I envied your cope, I envied your way with knowledge and i guess to make it go away, I had to push you away.” She explained slowly, to try and leave room for you to understand.

“When my dad died, I was in bits. I didn’t understand how you could move on so fast from your friends back in Boston, I’m still not over my dad and I’ve already gotten my revenge.” She spoke, finally looking you in the eye.

“I put on a mask Infront of everyone. It was a fresh start, I didn’t need my emotions to get in the way. Behind the scenes I was drowning in my own tears every night. It’s not so bad anymore but I still miss them a lot, and I still can’t allow myself to forgive them for leaving me.” You spoke. Abby’s face softened into a sympathetic, worried one.

“I am so sorry for how I’ve treated you. It probably didn’t help your grief, and it definitely didn’t help your mind. Me being a dick was the last thing you needed. I am truly sorry.” She spoke.

This was a side of Abby you had never seen before, she spoke with so much care and adoration in her voice, and there weren’t any snarky comments or sarcasm. It was all true to her mind.

“I can’t erase what I have caused and I don’t expect you to forgive me now, or ever. I just hope that one day we can maybe be friends? And start over?” She asked softly, looking in your eyes with care and concern.

“I’d like that.” You replied.

So, I was able to revisit the instagram chats. I thought I’d deleted the message thread on my end, but luckily I hadn’t, I just didn’t recognize it since Ves changed their pfp. In this series of collages, I hope to provide context to some of the cherry picked screenshots that were used to establish the case of me being a pedophile, and show them in a fuller context, as back and forth that were only meant as jokes. I’ll also be providing samples of our roleplay. One message just establishing we’d roleplayed before then, and we’d generally had a good time. Another one, showing how far we would take an intimate scene before we’d cut it short and skip ahead, one which is an extension of an excerpt posted by Ves to prove that I was “lying” when I said I didn’t recall us roleplaying smut, revealing that in the context of the conversation, the mentioning of those actions is in a hypothetical sense and not something we are playing out, and how I bridged the gap from before the explicit scene that we didn’t play out, to after. And finally, our conversation from earlier on about what we’re comfortable with conveying smut wise, where they’d like to stop, and what they were okay with including and playing through up until.

For that last one, I do need to make an explanation. In my initial message to them, I end it with “I don’t care either way” in regard to whether they’d like to roleplay the intimate scenes we might have faced or not. This is indeed a huge red flag, and implies that I would have roleplayed smut with Ves, but to this end I’d like to say two things. First, that I myself was a minor who roleplayed smut, Very willingly, and very consentingly. And second, that I was a very fresh adult at the time. I wasn’t used to having to consider that I was roleplaying with a minor, because I was just so used to being a minor and it not mattering. I had not yet taken on the mental understanding of what role I was playing in this community as I understand it today two years later. This is not a valid excuse to roleplay smut with minors, I recognize this, and I recognize that that is not an appropriate thought to have at 18 when talking about boundaries with minor roleplayers, and should not have been on the table at all. What I can attest to, is that the boundaries we did set as described in that photo were suggested by Ves, agreed upon by myself, and as far as I can tell from everything I’ve re-read in our messages, faithfully upheld so that we could carry out our story without causing discomfort to anybody.

This post is in the name of honesty, transparency, integrity, and disclosure. Wether you see these individual moments as right or wrong, or better or worse than they first seemed when posted out of context by Ves is completely up to you, but THESE are the extent of my crimes. This is how we spoke, and joked, and roleplayed scenes, and though you may not find them acceptable, it’s what I believed to be comfortable for both of us at the time. I’d once again like to offer my remorse for any and all discomfort these interactions did cause. There are things in here that I wouldn’t be comfortable with knowing about either now that I’m more mature and understand the importance of the age divide between adults and minors and what that means in terms of safety, but I don’t believe that whats shown makes me a pedo or a predator.

yeah i’m relating this to bsd! Mori. BITE ME!! ahem. so in this essay i will be talking about Elise and Mori’s relationship. i’ve already established i don’t see her as his “wife” or the object of his sexual desires, and i’ve also mentioned i like the “Elise is his daughter,” way of seeing things, however … well, there’s more than just that.

1) Elise represents his inner child

2) Elise preserves the memory of a dead lover and is his “partner”

3) Elise is a child-figure to him

those numbers will be reused in that order to mean the same thing later, but first, background and “Dancing Girl!”

so i think that, within the definition of his and Elise’s relationship, Mori embodies Toyotarou from “Dancing Girl” more than Kanei from “Vita Sexualis” (i think i learned which type of media went in italics and which sort in quotes some time in third grade, but it’s been entirely too long and therefore i’ve forgotten all of it and you’ll have to excuse my poor grammar if im messing it up). why, you may ask? well, first of all, Elise is literally from that novel. second of all, i’ve just skimmed vita sexualis (- an asexual) while “Dancing Girl” managed to catch my attention a lot more. plus, Mori was one of the characters that Asagiri explicitly stated he wanted to add in, and we all know just how evil Asagiri Kafka can be when he feels like it.

… why is the space so long ? why are these spaces different sizes?? this is really bugging me … but whatever, i’ll try my best to ignore it … (nevermind it looks perfectly normal when i post it i guess it’s just a. draft thing)

ahem, so, in “Dark Era,” Mori basically goes “damn Dazai you’re suicidal as hell! you remind me of myself hahah!” and i feel like that’s pretty concrete evidence Mori Did Not have a happy childhood (i mean, duh, considering he was trigger-happy to friendly fire as an important military man at 20 some years old) and was likely suicidal in the past too, to some extent. in that sense, the chains that tie Dazai down, if they’re Odasaku’s last words, are the Port Mafia for Mori. he cannot die as long as he’s sane and capable of leading the PM, because he’s basically the very embodiment of it.

⚠️SPOILERS FOR “DANCING GIRL!”⚠️

alright, onto “Dancing Girl.” i’ll give you a quick rundown. it’s basically about this college dude (25 or so) (haha that reminds me of the, “am i the asshole?” posts. i (M26) just fell in love with a girl (F18) of whom i’ve known since she was a minor and i was still an adult. i got her pregnant by some time after she became of-age, then i left her to pursue my career. am i the asshole?) (godamn it tai you just spoiled the whole novel) (i’ll put a spoiler warning up somewhere in the beginning) (bear with me) with depression who falls in love with a… looks at the parenthesis and sighs deeply.

he doesn’t see any point in anything because his life was just a glorified projection of his mother and school’s desires, so he starts being a little more hedonistic and learning about the arts instead of becoming a lawyer like they wanted him to. he meets Elise (her name) and basically immediately feels attracted to her in some way he can’t put into words (she’s 17ish when they meet btw) and starts teaching her things and basically acting like a sponsor to her. they don’t start getting romantic and/or sexual until some unsaid period of time passes. now i personally choose to interpret this as her turning 18 before they do all that stuff, but since it never explicitly says, well… yeah. Toyotarou is used to living his life in a cushy-ish manner as a child prodigy and what have you, but he eventually gives that away to live with Elise. that being said, his “giving it away” was less of a choice to be with her and more of a digression from a perfect machine into a person with his own stunted feelings.

she makes him satisfied, and he makes her very deeply happy, but eventually he chooses his career over her and she goes crazy because of how betrayed she feels- she really deeply loved him, after all. he pays her mother enough to keep her afloat and to take care of the baby he left in her stomach, and went back to Japan without another word. Toyotarou! you bastard!! (it’s not like he was without remorse, though)

anyway back to the numbers.

1) Mori’s past is pure speculation, but he was a military doctor ranked quite high as a very young man, one that didn’t hesitate to shoot someone on his own side no less (like i said) so it’s probably a given he didn’t have a stress-free childhood. this is an excerpt from “Dancing Girl,” in which i think explains the possibility that Elise represents the angry child inside of Mori that he never got to let out as a real child.

2) given what i said above, this also feels pretty self-explanatory. we basically only know two things about Mori, that he would do anything for the greater good (which is usually the PM/yokohama), and that he longs for a “partner” who will understand and not leave him. it’s possible Fukuzawa filled that role for a while, but Mori is a little unhinged and did some bad things out of obsession, which severed their ties because of Fukuzawa’s innate nature. Mori has called Elise his partner (tsuma, AKA person who stays by my side) (i know nobody says tsuma and means it that way but considering “Yatsugare san” exists (yes i’m looking straight at you, AKUTAGAWA RYUUNOSUKE), i wouldn’t put it past Asagiri to use tsuma in that manner) before and acts dramatic as all hell when she dies. it’s almost like … someone called Elise really DID die before?

3) this requires the least explanation. we already know Mori likes children in a non-pedo way, shown by things like how he helped Atsushi gather his courage in Anne’s room (which did nothing for him, btw) and his profession in the beast AU. but what sort of mafia don has a cute daughter?? that’s like ASKING for her to be killed. so Elise, the product of Vita Sexualis, is the next best thing he can have!

Elise also is a lot like the Toyotarou, while Mori acts more like Elise when they’re together. it’s just something i noticed watching the two interact in BSD and DG. the whole idea of having no autonomy is kinda Elise’s (BSD) thing, isn’t it?

What made Rhaenyra x Alicent so popular when it's very badly written and don't make sense story-wise?

To oversimplify it, and there is a lot of overlap:

A)

Because they don’t know the actual canon story. 

Some believe that because Ryan Condal and some of the show writers read Fire and Blood, they know what they are doing and what’s presented on screen is what happened in canon. (This is dependent on them not caring to engage more and/or not being people who care to think more about what they are consuming).

B)

Because wish fulfillment.

These two women in canon lore where 9 years apart in age with Alicent being the older and hated each other. Because we have:

two women hating each other and fighting for power

the use of the evil stepmother trope

we have some people think these in of themselves indicate sexist writing. A case of women fighting each other because their womenhood makes them vulnerable to competing for scarce resources that men determine for them.

And many people feel that they could have been friends if only the men around them didn’t force them into it. (Meanwhile, this was not the case at all and an extreme misunderstanding of medieval society.)

C)

Because misunderstanding feminism.

Some think that female friendships, by themselves, are enough to gainsay male aggression on a systematic level. Thus they find the relationship inspirational and ignore details or inconsistencies. 

Despite the fact that Rhaenyra and Laena Velayron had a deep friendship in the canon lore. Maybe even a romantic connection. They connected after Laena and Daemon came back from Pentos to birth her last child. Gyldayn writes that:

Whilst Princess Rhaenyra misliked her stepmother, Queen Alicent, she [Rhaenyra] became fond and more than fond of her good-sister Lady Laena. With Driftmark and Dragonstone so close, Daemon and Laena oft visited with the princess, and her with them. Many a time they flew together on their dragons, and the princess’s she-dragon Syrax produced several clutches of eggs. In 118 AC, with the blessing of King Viserys, Rhaenyra announced the betrothal of her two eldest sons to the daughters of Prince Daemon and Lady Laena. Jacaerys was four and Lucerys three, the girls two. And in 119 AC, when Laena found she was with child again, Rhaenyra flew to Driftmark to attend her during the birth.

(Fire and Blood; A Question of Succession)

This is our canon female friendship of the Dance, which makes so much more sense with their shared personality trait -- daring -- and genuine love for dragonriding. 

I do not want to say that the people who do ship Rhaenyra and Alicent -- or the actors who played them who acted as if these two characters did have some sort of pseudo-romance -- are all brainless. I mean to say that some don’t bother to actually get to know, analyze, or read between the lines of the text for the sake of shipping and superficial enjoyment from seeing two women share intimacy where before, in the canon, they were enemies since Rhaenyra was 10.

They see women-as-enemies as unrealistic or simplistic when the story and context is anything but. If anything, the story shows us the multiplicity of women...you know because they are human. Who want power and still be flawed (Rhaenyra) or evil (Alicent). 

Basically, they think that making a saint or pacifying women is feminism. When it’s actually pedestalizing them and making men “natural” aggressors. And making women into passion-less, ambitious-less pawns for men to use AND assigning their worth to how and when they have sex.

This idea of men-evil-and-women-helpless/pacifists is prevalent in our current society (consider this POST by @rhaenyragendereuphoria).

D) 

Because some are very anti-intellectual and anti-feminism. Misgoynists.

They hate that their idea of femininity is being criticized. This ideal of women-want-power instead of simply being a good wife, mother, “soft”, etc.

E)

Because there are those who genuinely just find both Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are very attractive and see the show as just something to be apart of the zeitgeist of. 

They don’t want to engage any deeper than that. 

Some might feel “attacked” and dig in their heels and try to find justification to keep shipping the two. Pride then may come into it.

F)

Because performative activism, capitalism and marketing.

WHY THE TMS MERCH STORE HAS BEEN ON HIATUS FOR SO LONG + WHEN TO EXPECT ITS RELAUNCH

Wanted to be transparent with people since I know some are out there who've been waiting for the TMS merch store to come back for awhile. This will be a long post, so look at the red text for the key points in case you wanted to know something specific.

Q: Why did you take it down in the first place?

A: I was using Teespring (Which I'll refer to as Spring as that's what they rebranded to,) and it's quality, in my opinion, was BAD. I did not do research before choosing them as a POD service. I've had people who have ordered who told me their apparel DISINTEGRATED after barely any washes. I own a sample from them, and I can confirm. While their shirt and print quality is decent at first glance, after washing your apparel, the print will soon begin to disintegrate. I'm not sure a better way to illustrate this with text, but it reminds me of those Thanos Snap "I don't feel so good" memes from a couple years ago. Yeah, it looks like THAT after washing. Not to mention, their payment process is shady. I know 100% that some people placed orders, as they had shown proof, and it did not show up in the dashboard. I wasn't worried about making money off of it at the time, because I just wanted to provide people with merch of their favorite characters, but there was no excuse for this.

Q: Why don't you use a service like Redbubble or something else?

A: While it is true that there's lots of other options available for POD merch creation with built-in storefronts, I took the hiatus to do research, as well as included past experiences I've had with other services to support my decision— (which I'll state further down below—) and Redbubble's quality is also not good in my opinion. I've owned shirts from them before and they have a weird sticky feeling to the print that I don't like, it's not very appealing in my opinion. But this isn't only about Redbubble, other merch services I've come across don't have the quality as the issue, they have the PRICE as the issue. I am not about to make ANYONE pay $40 for a damn T-shirt even if it lasts longer than the other services. TLDR for this: It's always a mix of services having bad quality, too little options, or being way too pricy.

Q: So what are you going to do now? It looks like they all aren't for you.

A: I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to run my own store. No, I won't have all of the stock on me. There will be a few items that I'm responsible for packaging on my own, but the majority will not be shipped by me. I have to use POD services that do not have built in store fronts, which means that I have to import your order to them before they create it. This is unlike POD services with built-in storefronts, which handle everything themselves and (are supposed to) pay me after you receive your order. So this means going forward it will be more hands on for me. I've been working on building my own store for a few months now, and the pieces are finally falling into place, so I'm excited for what's to come. :)

However, there has been a bit of a roadblock.

I was really close to being able to do a soft-launch of the new TMS merch store, but unfortunately I'm unable to do so. Why? Because I went to create a Paypal business account specifically for TMS funding (to better keep track of funds that will get put back into the production and seperate everything from my personal expenses,) and when I created the account I got flagged as 'being under 18' when I'm 20 years old and my ID clearly indicated such. After repetitively getting put on hold by Paypal customer service I was told "It is just a generic email, YOU actually need to be 21 because you live in Mississippi." ...Which is ridiculous in all honesty. Through this Paypal adventure I learned that there are only 3 US states where the age of majority is not 18, and I just so happen to live in the state with the highest age of majority. ...Great. At the very least, I turn 21 in a few months, only then will I be able to link the account to the store.

As for a launch date, I do not have an exact date, but I have a rough, definitive one...

Expect the TMS merch store to re-launch sometime early 2024!

1)Last book I read I read Ocean at the end of the lane in two days recently. It was a very fun concept. It's the kind of book that would have left a lifelong impression on me if I had read it young. But now it was just one good book in a long line of others. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2) A book I recommend Let's go with a Taste of Gold and Iron. It's a very fun mystery, and the main character made me go. Wait. I know that feeling! I have a brain exactly like that too! (Riddled with anxiety and self-doubt at the most mundane things, but when things get serious, it's suddenly all business.)

3) A book that I couldn’t put down: I don't know if it exactly fits, because I wasn't fully invested from the start. But I did read all 500+ chapters of Omniscient Readers Viewpoint in just three days. And it is the only book I've ever read that make me go "Wait. I didn't know you could do that with a book." There are so many levels of meta in this book. It's like three books in one.

4) A book I’ve read twice (or more): I reread a ton of books. Let's go for Kalevala just because I was reminded of it while taking the picture at the end of this post. I used to read it every 6 months or so as a teenager. When we were told to read it for school I just read it again instead of telling anyone I'd read it like six times already.

5) A book on my TBR: One that has been there for ages is the Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. I hope to get around to it one day. I already bought it after all.

6) A book I’ve put down: Putting things down (as in meaning to continue then forgetting about it) happens often. Putting down and deciding not to continue very rarely. Last was The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal. I have no idea why. In concept is sounds like just my thing and I have enjoyed her other books. My mind just couldn't get a grip on it, my attention always started to waver instantly.

7) A book on my wish list: I want an ORV official english translation SO BAD. Where is it??? It's announced and everything! Same for Nirvana In FIre, actually. Usually if I wish for a book I just buy it. It has to not exist to stay on my wish list long.

8) A favorite book from childhood: How young are we talking? Roald Dahl's witches book was my favourite at age 5. His dark materials at age 8. Good omens at age 12. Farseer trilogy at age 14. (all ages approximate)

9) A book you would give to a friend: 've gifted two people with All systems red. I would love to give it to everyone I know.

10) The most books you own by a single author: Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. As long as all 8 physical tgcf books and 4 svsss books count as separate. Though Brandon Sanderson comes very close. I think I have 7 of his books as physical copies and a few as audiobooks.

11) A nonfiction book you own: The Dawn of Everything is both excellent worldbuilding material, and really opened my eyes on how uncreative and stuck I was about how societies 'must' work. Applicable to real life as well.

12) What are you currently reading: I am still reading Exordia. It is an excellent book I'd recommend to everyone (as long as you are not particularly sensitive to body horror). But that is also why I'm going slowly because I only want to read it when I can concentrate properly. I am also reading Trash of the Count's Family when I need a less serious book, and an isekai manga, and What technology wants. The best way for me to read stuff is read whatever I feel like at the moment.

13) What are you planning on reading next? I got The Traitor Baru Cormorant at the same time I got Exordia so that's probably next.

DIVYA BHARTI - BEFORE & AFTER.

Be only natural to get a little excitedly curious, especially being a film historian, upon receiving news, that an 18 yr old girl, who's just officially worked for 2 yrs in Bollywood, has amassed a whopping 15 Hindi film releases in those 2 yrs alone (2 releasing post death), 24 films in all 3 yrs, & who till date holds the world record of sorts of having the most (13) films on floor as absolute rank newcomer (just on basis of one South hit at age 15), moreover, that lands up in those 2 yrs garnering quality, enough to beat many veterans over the entire decade's film tally..what more, to as we now know, emerge as Queen of the 90's at Indies!

Thus setting upon my minimum research, trying to know more about this wonder-girl, & as it would turn to, about her untimely teenage death, a death that evidently till today, per broadcast news clippings of interviews with Divya's late parents, kept meandering to point of making them irritated, around the sheer mystery of it.

& Watching all that archive footage past 2 days (ppl like me were little too young to follow msm news,let alone entt news,then), & I challenge anyone today trying to fetch those news archives available all over Youtube, to also not feel the same way, making one instantaneously draw comparisons with SSR!

Hanif is the co-producer of one of Divya's earliest films signed, 'Dil Hi To Hai', started in ~Sept 1989, who it turns out was also a big time underworld gang member, convicted for supplying illegal guns-grenades to Dutt's house with others, before March 12 1993 serial Mumbai blasts, for which was jailed & released after 5 yrs on bail, only to be killed in 2001, apparently by Chhota Rajan gang as revenge for blasts.

RAF Service Part 1 - 378 M.U. July 1945

I have visited the National Archives in Kew. It was fascinating, although not entirely sure what I was expecting, and so I did leave a bit disappointed and deflated.

The idea was to try and find out as much as possible about my grandfather's time in the British RAF. His military record, which I had obtained via government request, was lacking in any real detail, but it had listed the units he had served in during his deployment between 1945 and 1947.

This is what I learned about those units from National Archives documents.

At the final stages of WW2 (VE day having been declared a couple of months before), he was recruited into the RAF from "in the field". I am still investigating what "in the field" means and why he was in Italy in the first place.

The second line of his military record lists 378 M.U. No other details.

However, from a document obtained in the National Archives, this is what I have learned about Maintenance Unit 378.

This document in the National Archives shows the unit as being located in Castellamere, Naples

The document itself holds a detailed account of the MEDICAL HISTORY OF THE WAR JUNE 1945. In a series of typed pages on incredibly thin and delicate typing paper, the document gives an account of a number of different inspections and activities at 378 MU throughout 1945.

There are three spearate monthly reports in this folder, MAY, JUNE and JULY 1945. My grandfather was there during July 1945, during which time it was recorded;

The increase in size of No.378 M.U. led to some overcrowding.

There are excellent facilities for recreation. At the local stadium ground, league and intersection games of football, cricket and hockey are played. A sports day was held during the month.

Keen swimmers are given facilities for training in Naples and with the sea 20 yards from the billets a large number swim locally.

Morale is good.

In Naples, with Mount Vesuvius as its backdrop, there is an airfield, a possible location for the work being undertaken by Maintenance Unit 378.

There also appears to have been a cookery school co-located with the maintenance unit which had been set up at Torre Annunziata.

From these medical reports, written between May and July 1945, you would not suspect a war was going on. They are practical, calm and without any real incident (a spitfire has to make an emergency landing - the pilot "sustained only minor abrasions and bruises"). The men are looked after by doctors and even a visiting dentist and there is plenty of food and water available.

This must have been in stark contrast to previous conditions, whether this was whilst he was interned or was making his escape. The welcome from the British RAF must have been a relief which in today's day and age it would be almost impossible to appreciate.
