Hoodies are an essential item for me since I wear them all the time, so I created one again.

This piece went through a lot of effort: it was dyed with a distressed finish, bleached, and then printed on top. Each one has slight variations in the dyeing, which makes them all the more special and easy to grow attached to.

The staff at the production company insisted that gray would also turn out amazing, so I gave it a shot—and they were totally right. I’m so glad I made it ⚡️

That’s why I created this hoodie in two colors. Working with the staff and enjoying the process together was another great memory.

Knit Sweater This is another new item.

I took the design from the one and only original guitar I own and translated it directly into this knit sweater. It took quite a bit of effort to create that pattern on the guitar, and getting the same texture with this knit material was just as challenging. Haha.

One of the highlights is its comfort: no shedding and no itchiness 🎸

New black shirt.

For the shoot, I dyed my hair black as well to make the contrast with the white stand out sharply. Going all black every once in a while feels great.

What stood out to me during the shoot was how much the model loved this black shirt—she even took her own photos of it.

I think it suits both men and women, so please give it a try.

New item🕯️ This is a candle I’ve been wanting to create for a long time.

There’s a story from last winter: after Koron passed away, I lit a candle at home every single day until it burned down completely. Afterward, I repurposed the empty jar as a vase for preserved flowers and ultimately offered it to Koron.

That candle brought me so much comfort, and it reminded me how scents can leave a lasting impression.

I’ve always loved candles, but I’m glad I waited until now to create one instead of doing it back then.

I named this candle LAST HEAVEN, the same name as the first perfume I made.

This is NIL’s very first candle.

It smells amazing, so I hope it can bring peace and comfort to everyone.

NIL New Item (shirt) This was the first item I started designing for this collection: an embroidered shirt.

Back in the day, I often wore my own shirts during encores, so I thought about what kind of shirt I would wear now and created this piece.

The white shirt idea came from last year’s Christmas live performance, where I wore a white suit. I realized white could look surprisingly good, so I decided to make this shirt in both white and black.

I’m particularly fond of the black floral embroidery.

This time, I also had a lot of photos of myself taken for the first time, so it became a great memory. I’ve shared a bunch of them, so I hope you’ll enjoy them 📸

I worked hard again this year to create these pieces, so I hope you’ll give them a try!🔥

"And so, this year as well, I was able to announce new items from NIL.

This will be a long one, but I want to leave my thoughts here.

When I didn’t want to listen to music anymore, when I couldn’t create anything, when everything went blank—it was only then that I truly realized how precious it is to have an environment where I can create something.

Slowly but surely, the feeling of wanting to cherish what I’ve built over time began to overflow. With the help of many staff members in a rush, I was able to bring this 11th collection to life.

I poured myself into this project with the mindset that I want to give my all to what I can do and leave behind right now, because I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t.

Now that it’s all been uploaded, I feel once again that this is just one more step toward what comes next.

There were challenges in continuing to push forward and keep updating, but because I decided to create exactly what I love without holding back, I feel like I’ve also relearned the importance of enjoying the process, even amidst the difficulties.

I gave the collection the title "BREATH," with many meanings in mind, including the idea of taking a breath, when you sing.

I think I was able to shape something that I want to incorporate into my daily life.

And this year, which marks seven years since starting NIL, I decided to capture "My Current Self"—Ruki as I am now, with makeup for the first time.

I feel that preserving this moment in some tangible way holds meaning.

I don’t plan on doing this every time, but I’d be happy if people could see me as I am now. And I’m sure these items will suit you all as well, so if you pick them up, it would make me happy.

As always, I personally made everything, from the music to the editing of the promotional videos 🎧

These items are filled with so many thoughts and feelings. I hope you’ll enjoy them 🙏

Experiment 101 — Part 1

Warnings: Mention of neglectful parents, kidnapping (I’m still learning on how to tag these, so please tell me if I’m missing something)

Summary: Y/N is kidnapped by the RDA and then brought to Pandora where they use her and three other people as lab rats, but can they escape the sky people? And what if some Na’vi brothers find her unconscious in the forest?

Notes: Heeey, sooo this is the first story I post here, I hope you like it <33 English is not my first language so have mercy on me. Also, Neteyam and Lo’ak doesn’t appear till the end, this is more of like an introduction to Y/N and what happened to her. I’ve already planned a few more parts, so let me know if you’re interested ;)

Life on Earth was harsh. There was no bright colors, only the gray of the concrete surrounding everything. It was sad. The place that had been once paradise on Earth, was now pure concrete.

War was something people were used to, fighting over anything. Like I said, it was sad.

But sometimes life wasn’t that bad when you have a loving family around. Sure, the lack of nature and the constant war surrounding humans was depressing, but once you’re with someone you love -and loves you back- all the problems seem smaller.

But unfortunately, that was not Y/N’s case. She was alone. She had no one. Well, she still had her parents, but they meant nothing to her. They were both just strangers to the girl.

They didn’t even noticed when their daughter disappeared for several days, only returning home to grab a few things and made her way out once again.

They also didn’t noticed the bruises that formed all around her body, like I said, they weren’t parents of the year.

The truth is, she was kidnapped by a group of men. And not only her, there were a few other people in the same situation as her.

There were two boys, maybe around their late teens, and another girl that seemed a bit older than them.

“What the hell do you want from us!?” One of the guys asked, the blonde one, more specifically.

The masked men that kidnapped them didn’t say a word. They just remained quiet, causing fear on the four hostages.

“Can somebody tell us what the fuck is happening?” The oldest girl said this time.

But again, nobody answered.

A few minutes later, the men left the room, leaving the four victims alone. The other boy stood up and tried to open the door, but to no one’s surprise, it was locked.

“Hey” Y/N heard the blonde boy talking, but she didn’t pay much attention, being consumed in fear of what possibly will happen to them. “Hey” She heard again, turning her head to meet the boy’s gaze.

“Yeah?” She replied a bit uncomfortable.

“What’s your name?” He asked. The girl looked at him in disbelief. Is he seriously trying to make small talk while being kidnapped? “C’mon, I mean, we’re all locked up here against our will, so maybe we should at least know each other's names, right?”

She looked to the others, noticing they were paying attention to the blonde guy. She sighed. “I’m Y/N”

“Nice to meet you, Y/N, I’m Cameron” He said, then looking at the two people left.

“My name’s Madison” The oldest girl said, looking a little afraid.

“Well, I guess that only leaves me… I’m Thomas”

Soon enough the men were back, but with a new person joining them. It was a woman. “Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, I’m General Ardmore, and I have an offer for the four of you” She said with no expression on her face.

“And for that you had to kidnap us?” The blonde boy, now known as Cameron, replied with a mocking tone. What on Earth is this guy doing?

“Shut it” The woman demanded. “You’ll be grateful that I took you out of your shitty lives” She paused for a second. “I assume you have heard about some planet called Pandora, am I right?” The four of them nodded. “Well, we need some… volunteers, if you want to put it that way. We have some experiments we’d like to try”

“By volunteers you mean us, I guess” Y/N dared to speak for the first time.

“You’re correct, miss Y/N” Ardmore responded with a sarcastic grin. “The four of you are alone. You have no one, so I guessed you won’t be missed if we take you to Pandora”

What a bitch, Y/N thought to herself, but the woman was correct, at least in her case, no one would notice she’s missing.

“And what will we have to do?” Thomas asked.

“Don’t worry about it, for now, we leave in 24 hours, in the meantime, you’ll be granted the opportunity to go back home and grab a few personal things for your survival up there, but don’t even think about escaping, because we will found you and you won’t like what’s next, am I making myself clear?” All of them nodded, but the woman wasn’t satisfied. “I will repeat myself one more time and I want you to answer me right… Am I making myself clear?”

“Yes ma��am”

“Fine, escort them to their homes and bring them back to me in less than 12 hours, okay?” She then asked the men guarding the place.

“Yes ma’am”

A few hours later, they were boarding an actual spaceship, every little kid dream, but it wasn’t in a way they enjoyed.

Everything surrounding them had the initials ‘RDA’, making the girl wonder what that meant. Y/N then walked towards some strange looking thing, it kinda look like a modern coffin.

“Alright, this is a cryosleep capsule, you’re going to get in one of these and sleep till we get to Pandora, okay?” A scientist explained to them what was going to happen next.

“So, how does this exactly work?” Madison asked with curiosity.

“These things basically freezes you and that maintains you alive and well for long periods of time, when you’re in cryo state you don’t dream, and don’t need food or water, it’s like you’re being put in pause” He explained. “It basically keeps people in perfect shape, they don’t age a second, it’s quite awesome”

“And why do we need to be in one of these?” Y/N asked.

“It’s because the trip to Pandora last about six Earth years, and we don’t want our people being six years older that when they left”

“Six years?!” Cameron asked in shock.

“Yeah, blondie, don’t you know how space works?” Y/N asked him and a small laugh slipped through her lips.

“We’ll, then, hop in.” The scientist told them, the four of them doing it. Y/N laid down in the cryo capsule, the only thing in mind was hoping her life in Pandora would be a little better than on Earth, but oh, how wrong was she.

It seemed to have been only a blink of an eye for her and the three others, but after six years of traveling —which felt like a second to the four young guys—, they were arriving at Pandora.

Well, not exactly. They arrived at the RDA base, which was exactly like Earth, the gray color predominating the place. But surrounding that boring looking facility, a huge forest was in sight. Seeing the color green for the first time in quite a while, Y/N thought maybe life in Pandora wasn’t going to be so bad.

She was wrong. Life in Pandora was hell, no, it was worse than hell. Or at least on the RDA base. She would rather be sent to hell to serve Satan himself than stay there for one more day.

Being an experiment to the RDA people was horrible. She was in a dark room with 5 cells, one for each person, and one free. They were glass cells, and someone was always watching them. If it weren’t the scientists trying to observe the effect of the serum they previously injected in them, it was some guard.

They were never alone. It was hell. They didn’t know what that serum was supposed to do, but they came to the conclusion it wasn’t working, every three days some new serum was injected into their body, and each one had different side effects. It was torture. They were in pain for the next few days when the serum entered their body. They were just torturing them, there was no effective serum, so they kept going on. It was killing them.

But one day, after 2 years in Pandora, the serum seemed to have worked. The scientists seemed happy, and so did General Ardmore. They wanted to try and confirm the serum was finally correct, so the RDA organized a trip to the forests of Pandora.

A few days later, the soldiers were getting ready to enter the deadly forest, some scientists came as well, just to assure the well-being of the four people, well, not their well-being but to control the effects of the serum on them.

The four of them were given a mask, which someone later explained was for them to be able to breathe outside.

“I feel like fucking royalty walking with all these guys protecting us” Cameron said to Y/N while walking toward the forest.

She raised her eyebrow at him. “Are you for real?” She asked. “They are not protecting us, they are just making sure their little lab rats are ok with the serum”

He shrugged. “I’m just trying to lighten the mood, jeez”

Y/N rolled her eyes but a small smile escaped her lips. “Sure, whatever”

Their hands were handcuffed in front of their body, just to make sure no one tried to escape, so they had limited mobility. “Ok, we’re here. Let’s get it done.” Y/N heard a soldier talk. Then they all stopped walking, all of them with their eyes pointed at the four people. “Take out your masks” He said again.

“What? No!” Thomas replied angrily. What the hell, aren’t these supposed to be to not die while outside?

“There’s no way we’re taking these off, we’ll die!” This time it was Y/N talking. “You said Pandora air is toxic to humans, and that just breathing it for a second will make us faint, and in four more seconds, die?!”

One of the scientists sighed. “Get to your main mission, we will take care of them” She told the soldiers accompanying them, "We'll see you back here in 20 minutes, okay?”

The soldier rolled his eyes. “Yes ma’am” He said and later they went further into the forest, only leaving the four guys with some scientists and a couple of soldiers.

“Do you know what the serum is supposed to do?” The scientist asked. The four of them shook their heads. “This serum is supposed to make humans breath Pandora air without any fatal consequences, and you just happen to be our test subjects” She grinned. “So please, do as I said so and take. of. the. masks” She said losing her patience.

None of them obeyed. They weren’t idiots, what if the serum doesn’t work? “Take their masks off.” The woman now said to the soldiers. They obeyed and they walked towards Y/N and the others.

“Please, don’t” Madison said with fear in her voice.

“Shut it” The woman replied.

The men took Thomas and Cameron masks first, and it seemed like they were holding their breaths. Next, they took Madison and Y/N’s. The two girls doing the same as the boys.

“Breathe” She commanded. Neither of them did it. “Breath. Now!” But still, no one obeyed. But humans can only hold their breath for a while. After one minute, Madison took a breath, followed by Thomas, then Y/N and finally Cameron.

We’re going to die, Y/N thought, but after 30 seconds, they were still alive and felt okay, whatsoever.

The scientists started to cheer, still with their gazes on the four people in front of them. The serum had worked. Finally.

But the sound of gunshots followed by some screams wiped the smile off their faces.

“What is happening?” the woman asked the soldiers, but they only shrugged, pointing their own guns to the source of the sound.

“Withdrawal, withdrawal” They heard someone shout, shortly after, the soldiers from before were running towards them. “We have to go, now!”

“The natives found us! Withdrawal!” Another soldier shout just before being pierced by an arrow.

The sound of gunshots and screaming stunned Y/N, who was only looking at what was happening. She didn’t know what to do. A hand grabbing her forearm caught her attention. It was one of the scientists, but she didn’t want to go with them.

What was worse? Going back to the RDA base and being a fucking lab rat for another two years, or getting lost on Pandora’s forest and maybe being killed by an animal or some natives? She definitely didn’t want to be trapped on the base for one more second, so she freed herself from the scientist's grasp.

The other three saw this and tried to do the same, but only two of them were successful, Madison couldn’t lost the scientist that held her, and she was taken once again.

A few seconds later, no RDA people were left there, only Y/N, Cameron and Thomas. The gunshots and screaming stopped, the silence was restored and the only sound that could be heard was the wind going through the leaves of the tall trees.

“So… I guess we’re free” Cameron started the conversation.

“I think so” Thomas replied.

Y/N watched the two men. “I wouldn’t call this ‘being free’, we’re just lost in the forest. What are we supposed to do now?”

A new sound was heard by the girl. It was something moving on the trees. “We are so dead” Cameron said, he also heard the sound. “It was nice to meet you, guys, although I would’ve liked more to have met you in other circumstances”

“Yeah, maybe meeting you while being kidnapped and used as lab rats wasn’t the best, but it is what it is, now we’re going to die in some weird animal hands, so I guess we lived a shitty life and we’re going to die in a shitty way” Thomas replied.

Y/N looked at them annoyed. “Guys, stop making things even sadder!” She wanted to say something more but her chest started to hurt.

“Y/N! What is happening?” Cameron asked worriedly, but soon his own chest started to hurt too. Thomas was in the same situation as them. The three of them grabbed their own chest with their hands still handcuffed, trying to breathe, but it only hurt more. They began to lose consciousness and soon enough, they were lying unconscious on the ground.

It seemed the serum didn’t work once again.

From the top of the trees, two young Na’vi watched the humans lying unconscious on the forest floor. “Bro, we have to go there” Lo’ak said with his gaze still on the humans.

“Are you mad? What if they wake up and try to kill us?” Neteyam asked, looking at his little brother like he was crazy.

“C’mon bro, haven’t you noticed? They don’t have an oxygen mask, they are unconscious! They won’t wake up, and if they do, we knocked them out again”

“Fine, let’s go!” The oldest said, making his brother smile. “But…” Lo’ak’s smile faded. “We call dad right after” Neteyam said.

Lo’ak rolled his eyes. “Fine, fine, whatever, lets just go”

The young Na’vi came closer to the three human bodies lying unconscious. They were quite curious. They saw them surviving more than half a minute breathing Pandora's air, there was something weird about them.

“Did you hear when they said they were kidnapped?” Lo’ak asked his older brother, who nodded.

“Yeah, and that they were lab rats or something like that” Neteyam replied while looking closely at them.

“We definitely should call dad” The youngest said. “Even if he gets mad for not returning with the others right away the soldiers left”

“I’m on it” Neteyam touched his communicator. “Dad, we have some humans here, they are unconscious”

“What do they look like?” The oldest asked through the communicator. “And why are you still there?”

Lo’ak rolled his eyes. “I told you'' He whispered to his older brother.

“There are three of them, two guys and a girl, they look young, maybe like 19 or 20, and they’re handcuffed”

“What? Handcuffed?”

“Yes, and we heard them talking right before they were knocked out, they said some things I think you’ll find interesting” Lo’ak intervened.

“Fine, what’s your location?” Jake asked his sons.

“A few miles away from the base” Neteyam replied.

“Fine, I’m coming, do not move and make sure they don’t wake up” Their father ordered.

“Copy sir” The two youngest Sully boys replied. “What do you think lab rats meant?” The youngest asked. “I mean, I know what lab rats mean, but what do you think the RDA was testing with them?”

“I guess we’ll find out sooner or later”

Jake Sully arrived with a few other warriors at the spot his sons were waiting for him. “We’ll talk later” He said, both boys knowing they were in trouble for not going back home after they attacked the sky people. “They look young”

“I told you” Lo’ak said, gaining a bad look from his father and a hit in the head by his brother.

“We’ll take them to our base, have Norm and Max check on them, and when they wake up, we’ll question them” Jake said to his warriors, who nodded. “They aren’t wearing oxygen masks, are they even alive?” He seemed to finally notice the obvious.

“They are pretty much alive, sir. We’ve heard them saying they were kidnapped by the RDA and that they were just lab rats to them, I guess that has something to do with them not wearing a mask” Neteyam replied with a serious face, gaining a mocking look from his brother.

“Fine, take them to the base” Three warriors lift the sky people and started to get back. “And you two are coming with me” Jake said to his sons.

He was angry at them for not following direct orders, but he was more intrigued by the unconscious humans he just saw, and he wasn’t the only one. Neteyam and Lo’ak couldn’t leave their minds either.

Hi! I want to start by warning that this will probably be a long rant about how much i love your IFs. But first, I hope you feel better soon!

The first IF of yours i played was the pjo one, which sent me down a rabbit hole of going through the rest of them (still haven't played tcs but i will soon 🤞🏻). It was just BAFFLING how people could be so purposefully ignorant about the concept of fanfiction and accused you over and over of plagiarism like, please go outside and touch grass, clearly the internet has stopped your brain from developing critical thinking.

Anyways, the adaptation was so well done and faithful while also exuding a newness to it that i am very excited to see unravel. I understand at the moment it has been paused (and I don't know if you've addressed why it's no longer up) and i hope with time you can feel comfortable with it again. None of the shit you've gotten was deserved or even understandable but alas, it still happened. As a content creator myself, i truly truly sympathize with you. I hope these words offer some comfort, however small.

Same goes for WLB, but the awe at how descriptive and raw your writing is really peaked through in something of your own creation. I find myself revisiting it and experiencing the exhilaration from my first reading all over again. I can't wait to watch everyone around my mc descend into eldritch madness as they become more and more unhinged. Consequences of my own actions? Never heard of them, i want my mc to go apeshit!

Now, gods where do i start... TBOTYG is *chef's kiss* flawless, i never thought i could become so obsessed with anything with only one part. I awaited the demo with baited breath, already anticipating all the ways you would surprise and impress (and you did). Every choice, every scenario, the way you build your plot and characters, your descriptions (I don't know if you can tell that I'm a little too hung up on the writing aspect of it) of characters and actions and feelings. The amount of work and effort you put into characterization is so very clear and it feels very freeing to have that amount of control over a character that we're supposed to "relate" to (in the context of the narrative, almost as if living vicariously through them). i think that no matter how much time passes, your IFs will remain a staple in the community and every player who finds your gems will feel blessed and changed after playing.

It's gotten to the point I've created a whole google doc of my MC, and made fake ig accounts with interactions (just for myself, to cope with the anticipation) and this is a level of commitment I've only felt with my own OCs and works. In such a short time, your IFs have carved a deep space for themselves in my life. I find myself replaying and going through their official pages religiously even though I've read every post already.

a question! will every LI's gender be chosen individually? I'm wondering because C and D are suitmates, but is it doable if they're different genders? same for mc and V. I'm thinking yes but also wanted to be sure

Honestly very very sorry for the long rant, I'm sure you have better things to do 😭😭 but i had the uncontrollable urge to express my feelings on your art and it took me an entire day of trying to talk myself out of it (i failed).

i’m speechless (sentimentally), dear reader 😭 i still can’t believe some people would take the time out of their day to think about my silly little worlds and the characters in it, less of all like how i’ve written my works. every single time i hit a writer’s block or have the whole doxxing trauma flare up again, i think of quitting but it’s the urge to write stories and the joy of sharing it with everyone that is still keeping me going.

i can’t explain how much your words mean to me because this is what i write for. to have people relate to or identify with or adore the world and characters i’ve built is such a dream within itself. from the bottom of my heart, i am thankful for every single reader who has always been nothing but supportive from day one. if elias has his apple, i have y’all. and no, it doesn’t mean y’all can have my meagre inheritance but it’s the sentiment that counts.

to answer your question, every single LIs gender will be selectable! blackthorne hall has individual bedrooms per suite so y’all will only be sharing the common areas and kitchenette with V while having your own personal space. it’s more like an apartment than a usual college dorm tbh.

hi, I believe this person or someone who also read this post and/or simply has the same arguments sent them to me already. to be fully transparent, this whole situation is getting murkier by the minute for me & I'm extremely confused as to how to feel. on the one hand, I am now fully convinced that the broad labeling of joss as a "trump supporter" which I've seen plastered on tiktok, twitter & reddit posts when I googled the situation... is likely false. to be frank, it's a little harrowing for me bc I've received multiple asks defending joss in what seem to be honest messages, but I've also seen & received others that are against him, which makes it hard to know my own full opinion bc, as someone who's not plugged into the thai bl fandom at all, I tend to believe other people in the fandom's opinions more than I would for other topics where I actually feel educated. however, if it's just all a misunderstanding, which I've been open to & frankly HOPE for, I don't understand why joss didn't simply release a statement. it feels so simple to release a small tweet or something in his ig story to clear up the various assumptions, but the fact that he hasn't definitely doesn't help with coming up with a stable opinion on the situation for me. meaning, as there will probably not be a statement bc it's been a month & joss hasn't addressed it... I think I just need some time to sort my feelings about the situation by myself.

Hi Anon, some Extreme Shippers will pull out their FALSE and altered SamCait receipts in perpetuity, so it's really a lost cause to try to convince them otherwise aka convince them of THE TRUTH. There is only one.

But here are ACTUAL TRUE AND FACTUAL RECEIPTS, proving Sam Roland Heughan could not have been in Ireland at Cait's father's funeral on August 10, 2022. He is a verra talented man, but bilocation is not something he has mastered yet, despite Extreme Shippers assertions.

I believe it was actually on August 10, 2022, that Sam posted this IG story letting us know he had attended the John Legend concert. John Legend was playing in Las Vegas. But Sam didn't attend the show on August 10. More on that down below.

I posted this video screencap sent in DM showing Sam and a tall brunette enjoying the concert. 👇 We later found out the brunette was Karina Elle, with whom Sam had been traveling throughout US national parks in a camper van in July of 2022. (Search my blog for those posts and that proof). 👇They obviously continued their time together in August of 2022 in Las Vegas.

I know, I know, Extreme Shippers will say that this means he could have been at Cait's dad's funeral on August 10. Uh, that would be a negatory. Unless, ES think Sam is in a romantic relationship Cait, yet went to a concert in Las Vegas with Karina Elle just a few days before the funeral. AND was so unfeeling as to post the August 10 "What a show!" describing the John Legend concert ON THE SAME DAY as Cait's dad's funeral. It's SO obvious Sam either didn't know the funeral was that day or wasn't paying close enough attention...since he's not actually in a real life couple with Cait.

BUT, here is PROOF POSITIVE Sam could NOT have been in Ireland on August 10th because he was in MEXICO. After hanging out with Karina Elle in July and then being with her in Las Vegas in early August, Sam went to Mexico with Alex Norouzi for his tequila business. So, I hope that's what you were looking for Anon. Despite the CONCRETE proof above, Extreme Shippers will still find a way to pretzel their brains around it, which is what they already did. They claimed Sam was in a wig, a disguise at the funeral, etc. It is SO ridiculous, it boggles the mind.

The other thing I don't understand about ES is WHY would they want to ship a couple that seems to continuously "lie" to them, "deceive," them, "hide" their love from them? That's not a fun couple to ship. If I'm going to ship a couple, I want them publicly all over each other, declaring their love from the rooftops, parading their 10 kids all over the place. NOT a couple who denies their love at every turn, wears wigs, disguises, and only acknowledges one of their kids, and the kid has a different decoy dad. 🤭 Makes no sense. And sounds miserable to me. 🤷‍♀️

I have a question!! So I’m a long-time BSD enjoyer but I haven’t read nearly as much of the manga as I would like. I’ve seen all of the anime though, most of it multiple times through. I didn’t realize until looking at the comments on Danny Motta’s video at how much people fucking hate Fukuchi and his sword. Up until this point I’ve thought it’s cool as hell and he, along with the sword, bring something kinda new and fun to the series.

HOWEVER, I know BSD is FAR from perfect and there’s a lot of dumb shit that faithful manga readers have a better perspective on. Would you mind explaining why Fukuchi and the sword are such a sore point? I hope this isn’t too much to ask. I just really want to know.

Unfortunately the answer to that is best explained in the context of ALL the issues I have with the manga/show so... this is going to be v long... and im done giving this show more credit than it deserves but don't take it that seriously lol I hesitate to even consider my pov to be on par with the average manga reader but ig we'll see how my opinions hold up after i post

And disclaimer: I don't mind answering this but ONLY with the context that this is 100% my opinion (as of late, bsd as a whole has just been REALLY bugging me so im just gonna take this opportunity to explain my gripes since most of them apply to or tie greatly into fukuchi's character/design/motivations/development)

I simply don't want anyone to come for my head bc of anything I say here tho, bc I feel like I may disagree with a large portion of the fanbase but WITH THAT SAID...

***from this point forward there will be a few spoilers from s5e11***

Here are my gripes with BSD...

1. BSD and its "magic system"?

bsd powers suffer from what i like to call a "lack of scope"

granted this could be due to the fact the story isnt complete HOWEVER im sure any anime fan can tell you this story doesnt feel like it is leading anywhere its just... going... (ill get to the awful pacing later)

for comparison sake im going to also talk about The Case Study of Vanitas since it is the world I have the most experience in

what does BSD not have that VNC does?

simply put, the magic system doesnt reinvent itself character to character

in VNC if you have an ability it is EXCLUSIVELY connected to "manipulations of the world formula" which is essentially elemental control (fire, ice, gravity, etc.) based on a sci fi version of chemistry (alchemy, if you will) and this rule applies to EVERY CHARACTER in VNC

its a structure that starts developing from the beginning

BSD however introduces a WHOLE NEW magic system for each character

some character abilities are similar, yes, and can be classified as such, but many cannot be classified

again a magic system doesnt NEED to have strict rules (its actually more boring that way if the rules are too simple) but it DOES need RULES... and solid ones

otherwise its tempting to use the MAGIC system to fill in PLOT RELATED gaps

and if that system isnt defined, well, to me that looks like lazy/sloppy/illogical writing

if you like the whiplash of not knowing whats gonna happen next, fine, (i did for awhile too!) up until the unpredictability started to come from powers that as a whole look like an authors way of trying to write themselves out of their own plot hole

ie: time travel

specifically time travel that isnt introduced FROM THE BEGINNING...

2. Fukuchi and his "deus ex machina" sword

time travel is NOTORIOUSLY difficult to pull off and especially by my standards

I have watched Doctor Who since 2008, before I even knew what tumblr was I was doing my own solo fandom stuff (basically just watching a LOT of youtube video essays) but basically I have high standards when it comes to time travel in stories

Amenogozen has the POTENTIAL to be a great weapon if used in a logical context... but theres one thing the sword (and BSD as a whole) does not follow

RULES

time travel is TRICKY mostly bc it has consequences... in BSD fukuchi gives nothing in exchange for his powers

lets even toss time travel aside for the moment

what is Fukuchi's innate special ability? Mirror Lion... (read below)

its essentially an attack multiplier of x100 at CLOSE RANGE

lets say your average untrained human punch is 150psi (pounds per square inch) which is the pressure equivalent of a point 100m below the surface of the ocean...

with Mirror Lion's multiplier you get 15,000psi which would be 10,000m or 10 kilometers

a pressure equivalent to the deepest part of the ocean (i dont need to remind you how powerful water is... we all know about oceangate)

MY POINT IS HE'S OVERPOWERED AS FUCK

dont even get me started on his motivations too

im glad we got backstory for him in ep 11 and im sure we are just supposed to sum up his motivations into "he was willing to pay the high price for world peace" but tbh royally fuck that

dont TELL me thats what he believes

PROVE to me how you made that conclusion

also the only reason he even dies is becasue he wants fukuzawa to kill him... we dont have any sense of accomplishment for stopping his scheme because NOW the scheme has been PLOPPED right into fukuzawa's lap which fukuchi intended to do from the start... apparently

and this seemingly retroactive decision-making is a problem A LOT of bsd characters have, especially the one and only character i hate THE MOST... *drumroll*

3. Osamu fucking Dazai

oh boy...

I have thought long and hard about Dazai... im not going to lie, after ch109 and ep10 I was about to admit Dazai might actually have grown on me BUT

this was all erased after 6 minutes into ep11 when he was confirmed to indeed NOT be dead

Dazai just *knows* everything thats gonna happen

Chuuya was never a vamp... he knew this... and somehow his ENTIRE escape plan was just hinging on that? bc yknow... hE kNeW fRoM tHe bEgiNniNg

OSAMU DAZAI IS A PLOT DEVICE USED *ONLY* TO FILL IN NARRATIVE HOLES

HE IS A WAY TO FORCE PROGRESS ON A STORY WITHOUT EVER GIVING A REAL EXPLANATION

HIS CHARACTER IS AN INSULT TO INTELLIGENCE

His character is paper thin, with motivations that do not translate to his actions

and frankly... im tired of it...

additionally... if sigma doesn't survive, all of Meursault was literally useless... so why pick him for nikolai's prison break game?

even if he does, it means the ONLY thing we get out of the arc is information about fyodor... as to WHAT information, who knows... but regardless, a villain arc that has been going on for TOO GODDAMN LONG (40 chapters?) should have a resolution that isnt "i knew what was gonna happen all along"

we spent the whole time being SHOWN that fyodor and dazai were of equal intelligence levels... or at least higher than what dazai was used to dealing with

if dazai could just predict shit like this from the beginning why was fyodor a villain for so long? makes ZERO sense, dazai would've defeated him AGES ago... what makes THIS time any different?

also... why is he even suicidal? yeah ok the author was... but like... why make it such a present character trait?... so we can fake kill him over and over? idk

can you tell i dislike him?

4. THEORY vs PRACTICE

I am a "show dont tell" girlie

ALL BSD DOES IS "TELL TELL TELL" ...its infuriating

almost every power/special ability has an element of "trust me bro" ok SOME OF THEM DONT but most of them do

ie: atsushi is a tiger (what does that even mean), kenji gets strong when he's angry (ok hulk?), and THIS JUST IN we STILL don't know how fyodor's ability works... and now he's DEAD?... we also dont know almost any detail about sigma's ability and he might ALSO be dead

but thats only regarding abilities...

when it comes to writing stories using people of high intelligence it is VERY difficult to not get into the aforementioned "trust me bro" mindset which BSD does REPEATEDLY

im not listing off every example but off the top of my head is one scene from s4...

ranpo explains his plan for saving yosano loosely involved "replacing the engine [of an armored vehicle] with an electric motor and playing engine sounds over the speakers so no one noticed" ...and only i can pick this claim to shreds lol (i engineer electric vehicles for a living) but this is so wrong on so many levels...

Internal combustion engines and Electric motors are IN NO WAY EQUIVALENT

ranpo would never be able to power a vehicle the size of an armored truck with a motor that he installed an hour before the truck was put to use... he just wouldnt... the vehicle is too big... ugh *facepalm*

and dont even get me started on batteries...

MY POINT IS

if you want to write some *genius move* at least TRY to do some research to make the action believable

thats like saying "oh yeah i ran out of gas so a threw a couple AA batteries into my gas tank until i could make it to the station"

BUT THAT WOULDNT FLY BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE KNOW THATS NOT HOW CARS WORK

*sigh*

5. Manga Readers' POV

the.chapters.are.too.short

especially for a monthly released manga

i am relatively new to anime and manga... like late 2020, so I am part of the "new gen" I guess you could say so i know i dont have any right to complain about pacing in comparison to like... the dressrosa arc of One Piece

with that said, not enough in bsd BUILDS on itself

it all feels like a self "one-up"

its been too long since any of my large questions have been answered

honestly its rare that any of my questions are ever answered because the narrative rarely follows logical progression anyway and any scenes thats ARE useful are cut from the anime

characters do not *develop* their powers, they just simply ARE

whatever ability you are born with limits what you can do and thats that... which leads me to...

6. Types of Ability Users

the most coherent thing i think i can speak on so this will be short lol

there are 3 types... i think (excluding lightnovels, i have not read 15, Stormbringer, or any others)

(1) natural abilities (ones that can be nullified by dazai or stolen like in Dead Apple)

(2) human/god fusions (chuuya) -> but this can ALSO be nullified???

(3) when an ability isnt an ability (it CANT be nullified) -> ie: whatever the fuck Lovecraft is

Sigma -> ??? (he could be part of the natural ability category but like... it feels weird to put him there)

but... there is never a comparison between these types so im not even sure of this "list" is exhaustive

this is just another way the story is leaving open ways to dig itself out of a plot hole... which isnt fun... bc now there are no stakes... there are no rules... its disorganized chaos where anything can happen

everyone will always be fine because there is a way out of everything

and thats BORING... and for me, downright infuriating

fukuchi likely falls into the first category... but then again he's also using a tool from another ancient ability user... so does he even fit there?

7. Anime Adaptation

and i know why...

BSD is so thin on STABLE plot the story would feel like its dragging if Bones wasn't animating at the pace they are (see Manga Readers' POV)

so to try and counteract the feeling that nothing is happening they are cutting "irrelevant" scenes BUT ALSO important portions relevant ones (ie: aku's death)

do all the plot points from the manga happen? by definition, yes... but the nuance the manga has is lost almost entirely

Atsushi doesn't physically throw an injured Aku's arm over his shoulders... Aku doesn't smile upon his demise... Aku doesn't reach out through the fog of the fire extinguisher (the adaptation of this scene was personally my last straw)

and then we have the new anime content...

why did we tack on an additional fight? zero context... didn't even tie up loose ends from fukuchi like...

is sigma alive?

are chuuya/dazai/nikoali still in france? europe?

is fyodor going to return in some way? (we know nothing of his motives, ability, or MOST importantly, what information did he learn from Sigma??? his ability is an EXCHANGE so why even have that happen if they are both dead anyway?) why would you fucking kill off a character like this

WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS ENTIRE ARC??? The mere reason I'm asking this question is, in and of itself, unacceptable

we MAY get an answer later... but its been 20 episodes... why the fuck dont we know anything about the arc we just completed? ...ludicrous

Final Thoughts

BSD does not have enough reliable rules in its magic system to form a solid foundation of... anything

Fukuchi is a disjointed character trying to do too many things at once, he doesn't have solid motivations, and his arc provides more questions than it answers

Osamu Dazai is not a character... he is a plot device used like a saving throw in DND

BSD frequently insults my intelligence to cover it's ass in its storytelling

being a manga reader is like taking 30 days to rip off a tiny band aid... the pacing is unbearable

even with the end of fukuchi's arc now known, there was no sense of accomplishment in defeating him bc technically we didnt… he gave himself up... so the sword was just to make him overpowered... it was pointless

the anime adaptation was rushed, scenes cherry picked, and plot narratively thinned into water... there was no depth this season

In my opinion...

There are very few redeeming characteristics about BSD now

The few meaningful scenes we do get in the manga are overwritten by later context that negates any emotion initially associated with the scene

even with the end of fukuchi's arc now known, there was no sense of accomplishment in defeating him bc technically we didnt... he gave himself up

Dazai is the worst written character I have ever read

It is very likely i drop this story entirely

If I seem salty/upset/etc. its because I am. However is NOT directed at you, it is simply a manifestation of my disappointment in this story.

Step By Step, ep 1-6

I have caught up on the aired episodes and have compiled some thoughts below the cut. Couples first, then some general show notes.

Sp*ilers ahoy!

Jaab/Jen

Jen kissing Jaab, when he seemingly has a boyfriend: Is this him giving in to pure physical attraction? Mistaking close friendship (influenced by the flattery of that friend pursuing him) for more? Is something wrong in Jen’s relationship with Mon and that’s why he kissed Jaab? (This is my preferred explanation, because I love angst and there is a lot of excellent drama potential there. However, considering they are a side couple, I think they won’t be going the evil!Mon route.)

I do think there is more to Jen’s story. I’ll be very surprised if they’re doing a straightforward cheating storyline with Jaab and Jen.

Apart from that: dang do those two have intimate chemistry. The kiss was intense. And the symbolism of ‘crossing the line’ between the two beds in order to kiss was perfect. (It also explains why the beds were so close to begin with. I’ve never once seen hotel beds placed so closely together, which I found amusing until Jaab made his move.)

Put/Pat

Up until episode 6, I half thought that maybe Put had history with Jeng too. Jeng’s interactions with Put seemed very comfortable and familiar, so it seemed like an actual triangle might be building. But it seems like that’s not the case. Too bad, because it would have been a lot better than a pining/jealous Put. In that vein, I need some ex-lovers to show up for Jeng, because he’s losing to Pat 2:0 so far. (That’s assuming Kong is an ex. Pat’s reaction to his IG posts made me think he was, and if he is it makes what Kong did even worse and might also explain why he went so far.)

I like what they’ve done with Put and Pat’s relationship so far. I like how the reveal of their history developed, and that Put isn’t actually a stalker. He’s just pining and regretful. At this point in the show, I definitely see them dating for awhile until they both realize they are trying to go back to what they had. (And also, Pat is half in love with Jeng.) It would also give Jeng the push to pursue Pat. In fact, I really hope that is the direction the rest of the season takes because I can see how it all shakes out over the next couple episodes and it would be great.

Jeng/Pat

The slowest of slow burns. I think we’ll get one kiss (and maybe an overnight) before one of them decides they can’t date while Jeng is Pat’s boss. The office-related plot (with its emphasis on appropriate workplace behavior) has been too prevalent so far for me to believe that either of them would be okay with a boss/subordinate romantic relationship. Pining/in love, yes. Actually going through with it and still working together as they are, no.

Also, I don’t mind age gaps, but Jeng looks old enough to be the CEO rather than the CEO’s son (even in scenes with his father). It throws me off a bit. He needs to smile more because when he does, he looks much younger. Perhaps that will be part of his continued character growth; learning to loosen up in general.

I am impressed with what they’ve done with Jeng so far. I don’t think I’ve seen an office drama with a character like him working on improving himself in this way. It’s nice to see and I like him more and more every episode.

Chot/Krit

10/10, no notes. Just kidding. I LOVE THEM. Bruce is the reason I started watching this show while it’s still airing and I was not disappointed. Chot is an absolute delight. And I know what Krit said about the words being enough, but I do think Chot would love a little beach ceremony, just saying.

Ae/Kunan, Beam

They are great side characters, but I did not expect a pining best friend. Not thrilled about that. Two love triangles in one show is two too many.

Selections From the TV Journal

Some of the ost music+scene pairings are jarring and odd. Music should either ‘disappear’ into the background or emphasize a significant moment. The viewer shouldn’t be distracted by song choice. Also, some of it sounded like tv commercial music.

I almost quit after episode 2. Too close to home. Also, who doesn’t use templates in PowerPoint? That’s like the first easy shortcut you learn.

Loved the product placement meta joke in episode 3.

I am past being over all of the office gossip happening out in the open where anyone could overhear. I do not like Ying.

Did those two kids really put up a fake out of order sign on the showers so it’d be free for them to fool around?! Hilarious.

I really like Nan. She’s such a good work friend/mentor for Pat.

The BL industry call out was so pointed and well done, even as frustrating as it was to watch in-show. I felt for Pat and Chot in that scene.

I want to know more about Chot and Krit. Why aren’t they the main side couple? I cannot help being suspicious about the little side pairing montage in episode 5. I’m hoping it was just a straightforward ‘catch up’ deal rather than foreshadowing.

Big sighting, yay. Someone give him a lead role.

The IKEA ‘date’ was cute.

I’m glad that I stuck with the show. I’m enjoying it a lot and am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

🌻: writers block fr. my brain jus stops working. what keeps me going is that i love writing, i can just shut my brain down and type and end up with 3k words like nothing even happened. i love it.

🌿: creating makes me feel powerful idk like writing is such an escape , even when most of my writing is projection, it feels better to put it on someone else and something else. it gives me a chance to breathe and to think about things

🍉: like i said, projecting. it helps in terms of being able to sort things out, to problem solve. if i can figure it out for my characters, i can figure it out for myself. it helps

🎀: my writing has improved significantly since i was 14/15. i really love the writing style i’ve settled on.

🎈: again, big on imagery and behind the scenes things. love it.

🎉: dude?? every time i post a fic i lay down and read it and feel proud of myself. always celebrate your work!!! always!!!

💞: the most important part of the story, to me, is being able to picture it. when i write things i want to be able to see it in my head, i don’t want unanswered questions. i want to be able to feel what the characters are feeling and be there with them u know? i am a sucker for imagery and racing thoughts. i want to be in the characters head.

💝: definitely my first one. was super worried ab posting that one.

🕯️: probably my religious one and the one i did about theo and his guilt. lots of projection, like, so much. but it wasn’t difficult to write so much as hard to realize what i was writing? and ig just recognize how much i was hurting.

🍭: i started writing as a diary type of thing. it helps to smash a keyboard instead of anything else.

Hi Nonnie! ♥️ Thanks for the ask! Sorry the answer might be long and trigger warnings: Traumatic events (second question)/A quick reference to s**cide (first question)

1- It’s fine, I can answer that no worries 🤗 What happened is that I realized the ACOTAR toxicity made my depression worse and constantly had me in a haze of anger as I could not really ignore everything going in that fandom, not with how deeply I was involved in it.

I was heavily bullied numerous times for liking a different fictional ship and I guess the last straw for me was when I was falsely accused of racism because of a commission of mine- never mind that the one thing they (-the usual suspects and bullies) complained about was the decision of the PoC artist I worked with and who they silenced or that their complaints actually highlighted how they automatically viewed a WoC serving tea as her being a slave.

I think we pretty much all knew that it was never our (the artist and mine) intent or that this drama was started with something else in mind. I even had numerous PoC in my asks and IG inbox telling me it was all good and that they couldn’t understand the issue at all. BUT… I was at a very low moment of my life, my mental health was extremely bad and I did a massive panic attack which was quickly followed by some pretty bad s**cidal thoughts where I almost did something really bad.

That’s when I decided to stop everything and after a 4 months long break from the internet and social medias, I came back but with not much love for ACOTAR anymore. I do not find joy in anything related to this fandom. My maximum is liking pretty arts from artists I like or friends and sometimes making games with the characters in my Insta stories. But I don’t even care about the characters anymore and I even feel a certain dislike for the author, for allowing us all to suffer this shitwar for the sake of her mental health. I know that, PERHAPS, the issue is more complicated than that from her side but I consider that my anger is justified anyway.

Will I come back at some point and rewrite posts and theories about the characters etc? Hopefully, but I’m fine in my little bubble right now. I’ll let the dogs eat their bones.

I hope I answer that first question for you and I’m sorry, I know it’s quite a long answer. 😅 I do love to hear you enjoyed my commissions! Always glad when I know they brought happiness to someone. ♥️

2- As for Ghost, funnily enough, he is not my favorite CoD character. I’d say he’s actually third on that list behind Soap and Price but he’s so aesthetically pleasing and makes for such beautiful art pieces! ♥️ I do appreciate his character though, mostly because I’m appreciative of his inner strenght. Now as you’re not familiar with the lore, to make it short, Ghost had a pretty horrible childhood, tortured by his father who was a notorious trash (like forced to kiss living snakes when he was terrified of them kind of stuff). Sadly, when he was in the army, he was also captured and tortured for month before finding his freedom again. Only to lose his mother, brother, sister-in-law and nephew to an atrocious murder. His past is basically the worst thing you could be imagining and if you’re interested in it, there is actually a comic about it you can find online. Do beware though, it’s pretty graphic.

So what I like is that even with that, he still remains level headed, tactical, and, to some extend, even kind. Seeing him develop a relationship with Soap and open up, even making jokes when he’s seen as this gigantic grumpy man, was actually a nice insight in who he really is! 🤗

Also watching plenty of tiktoks of him and Soap, even before I played the game (and I had never touched a CoD before!) helped me so much during my hard post acotar time.

Hmm. Maybe House driving his car into Cuddy’s living room? That or the handling of his disability in certain areas, either s3 or s6. s3, I like the thematic resonance but my research indicates that even if the ketamine were a magic cure for the nerve pain that he might have a bit of a limp / balance issues still & I would’ve liked to see that. s6, I’d have liked to see them try different medications & address the fact that antidepressants treat nerve pain. And add something like gabapentin to address it directly. And that ibuprofen probably isn’t a helpful treatment at all. And maybe see House struggle with the tension between something that gets him to manageable levels of pain but makes him sleepy or brain foggy and the tension in that. But of course there’s always fic.

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

Hmm. I tend to be more on the tame headcanons side ig? I headcanon that Cameron had to “fix” her parents’ marriage like Chidi from the good place, except maybe multiple times. @dr-cameron has a lot of cool thoughts on Cameron’s backstory. Sorry, that’s not very wild haha. I do like the “post-canon” theories all the cast members had, I thought Chi Park as a dominatrix was very very funny.

🚀 Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?

Longfics, outline (I looove my outlines). Shorter fics, no outline. Or just a few lines if they’re going to change direction / goals. But I think I wrote all my shorter fics that are up in one go.

🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?

This is definitely a different answer than it used to be. Maybe not in the actual “who it is” but just in the experience. Wilson takes a lot of effort for me to get into his headspace, but ESPECIALLY in this part of HH:Reprise that I’m writing bc there is so little canon material to knock me back into it. Also the man has so many layers. But I also find Foreman pretty tricky. Actually I think the hardest part is rotating through the cast and making sure everyone comes out as themselves in the bigger fics. Once I’ve settled into a POV I don’t usually have trouble, but of course I have to keep the whole cast moving in HH:Reprise, even if it’s in the background.

📗 Do you want to write something outside of fanfiction? If so, what about?

So technically I’m a self-published author! I wrote a sci-fi book about four people who wake up with no memories. I also used to write a lot of original fantasy and horror (creepypasta, mainly) short stories. Kinda want to get back into it. Id like to be a full-time creative one day, and I do have novel #2 in the works. It turns out it’s really hard to make it in sci fi as an indie author (you either have to write in genres I’m not into, or write like 50 books to get traction, and if you look at my fic posting, I’m not that fast.) So I jumped into fantasy + romance. (I do love fantasy.) But my real dream is to write an audio drama. Two ideas I had were a supernatural one about ghost hunters, or a sci fi one about a newbie who gets thrown in the deep end navigating conflicts on her first assignment.

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

I would probably literally cry. Any of my fics would probably be cool. I made half an Art of Thirteen flipping off the ceiling at Notre Dame lol. But probably HH:Reprise would be most meaningful to me. Of the scenes so far, karaoke would be fun. Thirteen hugging House would be fun. And, naturally, some scenes that haven’t been published yet. (I fully intend to create as many fake screencaps for the fic as I can.)

Ohhh this is SO hard. I love comments so much. Like, I go back and reread them often. I try really hard to respond to every comment I get. I think more detail is what really rocks my world, whether that’s specific feelings, specific ways my fic affected someone, or anything else. I don’t see a lot of thematic analysis or line by line responses, so when those do come in, they’re precious to me. I think those make me feel Seen.

AHHH i’m just a chronic rambler so i always end up writing way more than i plan to but no it’s not at any cost to me!! it actually makes me happy to see smth i’ve written getting to be a high word count hehe. the only ‘cost’ ig would be that it takes a bit longer before i can post but as long as you all are willing to wait i don’t mind writing lots (plus then i feel less bad about randomly disappearing and taking writing breaks because i’ve left a lot to be enjoyed LMAO)

YES I AGREE sae has like established himself almost?? he’s not striving for anything anymore and he’s been recognized by some of the best strikers in the world (ex luna from the world 5) + he’s a ng11 so it just feels to me like he’s kinda relaxing?? he has the time to think about other things just not the motivation/will, but it’s easier to write him gaining an interest in someone than justifying rin giving up on the pursuit of his goal for another person. i also really like to write love interests that are down BAD (or end up being so anyways) which would make sense w sae being lonely in a foreign country more than rin who would prioritize soccer over everything (as he did in cherry tree when he told y/n to come back to him after the world cup or smth like that iirc)

i think it was probably not one at a time — there were probs multiple fields, but i doubt they had 300 that they could use so everyone could go at once!! they probably had like 10 (arbitrary number) and as people were finishing other people would enter, so someone like kiyora might’ve just entered in an earlier round than karasu, who probably waited a bit to feel out the situation or smth. shidou was probably too busy being up to random nonsense to go early which is why he was like 111 despite being bllk’s number 2 😭

And being with someone who has to deal with all of that on top of having mental heaths issues of their own (so assumably you’d be there to support) and having to also juggling your anxiety and now having to deal with being more in the limelight due to her relationship (that’s 100% on them for making it public btw) and possibly now having people also stalk and harass you, your family and your friends. It’s gotta be hard right? And again, this doesn’t mean you have to like them or be a fan/stan and it doesn’t mean you’re wrong in any way for pointing out their wrongdoings and sketchy behavior. I agree with you. I just think the criticism should be toned down a couple of notches because not everything means something. Not EVERYTHING she does or has done is out of spite or insecurity, or to prove something. Maybe she really is just posting ‘some’ things just to do so because it entertains her. Not to entertain everyone else at all times you know? And about the deleting of a bunch of her photos and stuff from instagram, wouldn’t it be normal to delete photos and things about your ex if you get together with someone else? Why is it a thing that’s brought up as like a bad thing with red? I’m genuinely asking, I’ve never been in a relationship so I’m kinda lost with that one 😭

“Not everything means something.” – I totally agree with you on this one, but from my own experience, more often than not, especially when posted on social media, there’s usually some kind of meaning/purpose behind it. Like when people post some quote in their stories. Maybe they just really liked it, but sometimes it’s directed at someone they’re hoping will see it, or it relates to the situation they’re living at the moment. But we’ll never know for sure, of course.

And about the deleting of pictures from her IG, especially the ones with her ex, I don’t think people brought it up like it was some kind of bad thing, they were just trying to compare those to the ones she posts now, trying to see if her posting style has also changed to match Alex’s or not.

I’ve spent the last 20 minutes looking at Christina’s profile. I’m being careful not to accidentally like old photos. I don’t want her to think I’m a creep looking at her photos from 2017. Though, I guess I am exactly that. 

It’s funny to see how her photos have changed. The older ones are mostly her with friends or on holidays with her family. Then we have a lot of nights out until we get to the last couple of months when she started to post mostly professional photos. She’s always been pretty, but it’s easy to see she’s grown into her looks to take her from cute to gorgeous. 

“Who’s that?”, asks John while I was distracted looking at a photo of Christina in Brighton with her family.

“Um…no one”.

“I’m not your mum, Rúben. I won’t tell you off for looking at pretty girls on IG”, he laughs.

“It’s just…the girl that interviewed me yesterday, I was being nosey and checking her IG”.

“Let me see her”, John says, asking for my phone. 

I give it to him and he takes a quick look.

“How is this fair?”, he says dramatically. “That I get the middle-aged dudes interviewing me but you get the hottie”.

I shrug and laugh. 

“Anyways, how was your date?”

Not the change of subject I was looking forward to.

“Alright, I guess. She only seemed interested in us in one way but I guess I wasn’t planning a life with her either so whatever”.

“Wow, that sounds horrible, Rúben. I feel for you”.

“Shut up!”

“Maybe you should invite your journalist friend to be your next date”, suggests John. And I try hard not to show a reaction to that. 

Because I’ve thought about it but I don’t want to scare her away by being too forward.

When I go back to IG, I see Christina has uploaded a new story and click on it. It’s of her and a guy, called Matty according to the tag, and she’s written “coffee and Matty, my favourite combo”. I show it to John.

“I guess she’s busy with her boyfriend”.

“Wait until they break up, then”, he says laughing.

I roll my eyes at him and go back to the story. Her head is on his shoulder and they both have big smiles on their faces. I can see his hand is on her waist. I mean, of course she has a boyfriend. I shouldn’t be surprised but it bothers me anyway.

After my coffee with Matty, I go back home to work on some articles that are due soon. I’m struggling to concentrate so I pick up my phone to scroll through social media.

Friends have posted, so I like and comment on their photos. My sister Lily has posted a new story with my nephew, so I like it and answer with a bunch of emoji hearts. And I see Rúben has posted a new photo too. He’s wearing the outfit all City players wear when they travel for away matches. But I have to admit that even though the outfit is horrible, it doesn’t look half bad on him. I debate for a second before liking the photo.

I mean, I’ve liked some of his photos before. But, he wasn’t following me back then. What if he thinks I’ve only done it to get his attention or something? Not to be all I’m not like the other girls but I’m sure many use that trick. Ugh, why do I have to overthink everything? He won’t even notice I liked the stupid photo.

Ok, phone away. Back to writing.

Once I’m done with work, I reward myself by making a delicious frozen pizza for dinner. And I might even take a bath later. Glamour and luxury 24/7.

When I go stop the timer I set on my phone I see I have a few notifications. But one stands out. A DM from Rúben. So he is like the others. What a surprise!

I still open it to see what he has to say and it confuses me even more.

“Hi Christina. I’m playing in London tomorrow, against Arsenal. I have a couple of tickets if you want them. For you and your boyfriend. Let me know if you want them. Xx”

For me and my boyfriend? I didn’t have one of those last time I checked. But I do want the tickets. I’ll gladly support City against Arsenal. I’ll support literally anyone that plays Arsenal.

“Hey Rúben. Hope you are ok. That’s super generous of you and sure, I’ll love tickets to the match. But…I’m a bit confused. I don’t have a boyfriend but I’ll be able to find someone to take to the match with me if the offer still stands. Xx”

aww well, firstly thank you for keeping up with them bc i know it’s a lot and it probably seems like i’m just pulling ideas out of a hat at this point 😭 however i will offer you some insight to my madness:

tl;dr i’m an idea hoarder

planned however isn’t like always the case with all my stories. i generally separate my ideas into 3 camps:

stories where i have the characters + plot thought out or planned out (most developed and ones i usually write for and ramble about)

stories where i have a half baked idea—so it’s usually either a bare bones plot, bare bones characters, or a little bit of both

stories that are mostly vibes. even if i have certain aspects thought out there’s like entirely too many holes to make anything coherent & i need to think on them more lol.

NAD (one day this will get a good title) — what do a forcibly turned psychic nurse (nyseah), a college student who works as a secretary of a large conglomerate (alona), and a jaded detective investigating the murder of a up and coming pop singer have in common (donte)? more than you’d think lmao. these three intersecting storylines take center stage in the corrupt city of new mananza, leading to the exposure of a horrific plot that’s been in motion for near as long as the city’s been around.

CELESTIAL WEDDINGS — dagmar of dattenmaow from a young age is one of the eight hopefuls chosen to have a shot at becoming the next celestial ruler, as the previous one, rava, died extremely prematurely. in order to have a chance, he and the other hopefuls must travel to each of the eight spheres (or lands) to woo a member of the royal family for their hand in marriage, discovering what lead to rava’s death along the way. this is a poly story so dag ends up with 8 partners & everyone is nb with rotating pronouns so it’s fun :)

PURPLE HAZE (including the sequel blue jeans) — calvin and jake have been best friends since they were 5, next door neighbors always attached at the hip. at the end of their hs years everything that they had going for them suddenly comes crashing down, between jake’s suicide attempt and calvin’s long time gf hailey breaking up with him suddenly and without warning. 2 years later the two of them are on complete opposite sides of the world trying to pick up the pieces and get out of these dark spots. purple haze is a super personal story to me cuz it does take some direct inspo from my life and i’ve had cal & jake as ocs since i was 8 lmaooo. the sequel blue jeans follows their younger sisters; the twins penny and jenny (cal’s sisters) and katia (jake’s sister) and how they slowly enter adulthood. there’s a bit more emphasis on penny and katia bc the two of them have some romance to sort out, meanwhile jenny is the most well adjusted of all of them 💀

AZAB AND THE HERO’S SHADE — this is a story en progress but tldr i have a self insert oc for legend of zelda (and a side blog for it here: @breath-of-reincarnation ) however i thought it’d be cool to make an original story with some of the concepts. i haven’t gotten too far into worldbuilding but the chosen one character is azab, his love interest/the stand in for my oc is jas & zelda is princess narindi

SHROUDED IN DARKNESS— alessandra of the kingdom of darkness has always felt as though she’s been denied her people’s birthright; the ritual blinding of oneself under the light of the moon (their goddess), this is bc of a vision her mother saw when she had her. alessi doesn’t understand why she must stay sighted until she is proposed to by their sworn enemies the empire of light to end their endless war through political marriage. it seems unfair all things considered, as the empire of light has been carrying on a genocidal crusade against the kingdom of darkness for as long as anyone can remember. but it is with this proposal that alessandra realizes her purpose: she must keep her sight until she brings the empire of light to its knees by killing the entire royal family. this is very much a vengeance story and touches on a lot of dark themes and it’s pretty gory but i’m excited to write it one day

NOBLE — a heavy scifi story this is. noh bell wakes up adrift in space, with no knowledge of himself (apart from his name) and where he is. he’s found and taken in where his name suddenly flashes across a news reel as being a wanted fugitive but he can’t remember why. so he has to figure out why he’s wanted, who he is, and how to stay alive. while i don’t know everything 100% i do know that noh was a former member of the space governments police special ops super soldier program thing called the JACK&JILL project, where basically super soldiers are taken as babies, enhanced, and then assigned in groups of two to deal with shit. jacks are the brains of the operation and jills are the brawn. noh is also mute (from these experiments) & he uses sign language :)

GOD EATER — this story is mostly vibes but from what i’m understanding basically the life force of the cyber world that exists has been stolen and heaven has to descend into the underbelly to catch the culprit who stole it. in their descent, they become nevaeh and among the many cast of divine concepts and characters they meet, they find an ally in thei, the god eater, the last in a race of terrifying beings who can literally snuff out the light of gods (by eating them LMAO). this confirms the suspicion that a god is responsible for the theft of “the sun” (which is what ig we’re calling it) and so nevaeh, their guardian little bear, thei, and thei’s keeper taj along with others possibly set off to do the thing. cuz basically if the sun isn’t returned the whole world will collapse into a singularity or black hole LMAOOOO

TRAIN MASTER CHIDORI — vibes for my boy chidori!! still trying to work out the actual plot and happenings but it’s cyberpunk and fun pfff

THE VIRGIN OF MOUNT HEREDOSA — nyoka has been a ward of “the temple” (can u tell i’m great with names 🙄 this will get a better name eventually) since they were young, with the express purpose of one day fulfilling their duty of becoming a sacrifice to the gods. but nyoka REALLY does not want any part of that shit. after trying to sneak out for the millionth time, nyoka is pulled before the council of elders and is told they are next in line to be sacrificed. the only way nyoka can void this situation is if they lose their virginity basically lmao. so they start on a quest to do that & end up meeting an outcasted god who offers some “help” ahem. this story is gonna be pretty explicit and monster fucking is gonna happen tm.

THE WHITE SHIRTS — a couple of decades removed from ww3, twins prosper and jane live out their day to day lives in a small town. their life is disrupted when out of the blue men in convertibles wearing white button up shirts and black shades show up and start slaughtering people—but prop and jane are able to escape. being hunted by the white shirts (since that’s what they start calling them) leads the two of them to meeting a slightly older teen, marin, who has had a run in with these white shirts before and is making his way to the east coast. there are rumors that there’s a boat there that can take you away from the ruins of america and obvs away from the white shirts. while jane is more trusting, prop is wary of this stranger suddenly helping them but he has no choice. so the three of them start heading east and yknow. fight to survive all that.

BOYS UNDER FLOWERS — this is based off of the k drama boys over flowers bc i HATE IT. i don’t have ocs yet but basically instead of the actual storyline when that rich guy starts being shitty towards the mc, they’re just gonna plot to kill him lmaoooo

MARVIN & LINDA (or the spy story) — marvin and linda (code names obvs) are two secret agents who have just completed a job together and are waiting for extraction. they however get blindsided by a notice from marvin’s company that they won’t be extracted for two months and now they’re suddenly stuck in this hotel room together until then. it’s less about them being spies and more about two private people opening up to each other A LOT due to the close proximity with a bittersweet ending lol.

SACRIFICE — mostly just vibes. i know edgar and naja are step siblings and i think they’re on the run from a cult???? but what else is going on i have no clue lmaooo

and this doesn’t include all the ocs that i have kind of… lounging about with no real purpose yet, or any of the stories i have with my partner either lol
