The Ballad of a Dragon ⥃ Modern!Aemond Targaryen
Summary: after an argument with your husband, you find him playing his frustration away and eventually apologizes to you on top of his piano.
Warnings: 18+ mdni! Smut, angst, fluff, p in v, oral(F!receiving) fingering, Aemond eats pussy like a champ, both parties are so petty, post argument/make up sex, hand kink, body worship, Aemond knows how to work with those fingers, he plays piano👀 tell me if I’ve missed something. English isn’t my first language<3 no beta...
Word count: 3.15k+
A/n: so this pure filth is based on this post, and @barbieaemond motivated me to write it! So thank you, my love, and thanks to Aemond’s long fingers for being a great inspiration to write a hand kink fic. I’m also taking a little break from writing for a month or so<3
“You just came home, Aemond! We had a reservation for tonight that you missed, you arrived at midnight from work and now you are taking a call to go and fix Rhaenyra’s stupid mistakes again?” You groan, pacing around your bedroom with Aemond burying his face in his hands, sitting on the bed in front of you.
“I can’t just turn a blind eye to them when they need help!” He explains, raising his voice a little. He is frustrated beyond words; work has been hectic lately and the company’s responsibility has fallen on his shoulders, forcing him to carry the weight alone.
“You’re already half blind, it wouldn’t hurt to close your other eye and ignore them for once!” You know you shouldn’t have said that, but you’re fed up with all the negligence, nights staying up just for him to either sleep in his office or crawl into bed at four in the morning.
It isn’t his fault mostly, it’s the pressure his father, siblings, and Otto put on him, but you wish he would say something and stand up for himself.
“That was a very low blow, wife,” he says through gritted teeth, glaring at you as he puts his elbows on his knees, “I can’t let her mess up everything we have worked so hard for! This company will be ruined if I don’t fix Rhaenyra’s fuck ups!”
“It’s not your responsibility, Aemond! It’s hers! It’s her mistake, it’s her fucking fault! I shouldn’t be begging my husband to make time for me, his wife, and spend some time home! You reserved the table, you told me to get ready because you wanted to take me out on a date! I’m just glad I didn’t go to the restaurant myself or tomorrow’s headlines would have been worse for your reputation than Rhaenyra’s mistake can ever be.”
“My work is my priority! This is my family’s business, do you know what that is? Family? Because by the way you’re acting, I’m not quite sure you have the slightest idea.” He stands up as well, running his fingers through his hair as each word falls from his lips and you feel the sting of each one in your chest.
“I can’t believe you, Aemond. How can your work be any more important than your wife?! How? I get it, you’re this tough guy, knight in shining armor always trying to get on your father’s good side and want his praises. I get it, you’re desperate for his affection. But what about me? I spent hours getting ready for my husband, just for you to treat me like trash! I left my family because of you, Aemond, and I would do it a thousand times more because I love you. Although I can’t say the same about you.” You know it was a pathetic move to get a rise out of him, but after what he said, it’s only fair to treat him just as he is treating you.
Tears sting your eyes as you look at how red he has gotten, knowing that you’ve woken up the hot-tempered dragon inside him. Good, he needs to feel ashamed and angry for how small he made you feel with each mean word that he said.
“You think I don’t love you anymore?” He asks, his voice barely above whispering, but you hear him perfectly and see how rapidly his chest is moving with the deep breaths he is trying to take.
“No, but I can’t deny that I’m doubting it. You put work over the family we created together, over your wife, and you want me to accept it without complaining, without telling you how much I miss you and how it hurts to be apart from you while you constantly choose your work over me!” You sob, putting your hands on your hips as you turn away from him. Even the sight of him makes your heart clench.
“I’m working my ass off for you to be content with your life, to have enough money to waste on petty and unnecessary stuff—“
“Don’t you dare guilt trap me, Aemond Targaryen! Don’t you fucking dare make me feel bad for wanting to spend time with my husband!” You nearly scream at him, tears now falling freely from your eyes as you turn around to look at him.
Even at this moment, he looks so beautiful — silver hair shining under the dim light of the room, his white shirt unbuttoned a little and his sleeves rolled up, showing off his toned forearms. If you weren’t so mad at him, you would have jumped on him the second he walked through that door.
“I can not control my siblings! They are idiots, sure but do you have any idea how bad their actions can destroy everything we have worked so hard for? I need to go because my father called.” he tries to reach for you, but you pull your hand away from him, taking a step back because you can’t bear him trying to sweet talk his way out of this like he always does. You shouldn’t let him minimize your feelings.
“Your father or Otto? Did he say if you save Rhaenyra’s ass, you would become Viserys Targaryen’s favorite child? It looks as if his affection is worth more than our marriage.”
“Stop with this nonsense, you know it’s not!” he glares at you, his pupil blown with rage. How could you ever think like that? Did he truly drive himself away from you to the point that you doubted his love for you?
“Do I, Aemond? Do I? Because instead of apologizing to me you are telling me how your work was more important than not showing up for a date you organized! I felt so beautiful, Aemond, so happy that after such a long time my husband was going to come to pick me up and spend the night with me! Now I just… I just feel so fucking stupid for getting my hopes high.”
You watch him take a deep breath, shaking his head as he marches out of the room swiftly, not bothering to spare a glance at you. He is frustrated, you get it, but to leave in the middle of an important argument like a child being denied a candy is pretty immature of him.
You sigh and wipe your tears, walking towards your wardrobe to pull out one of your sheer nightgowns, changing into it to sleep in something comfortable while your husband's side of the bed gets colder by the second.
The sound of music fills the house gradually, taking you by surprise. The last thing you expect is to hear your husband’s favorite classical piano piece echoing within the walls, and you halt in your steps, guilt creeping inside your chest as you listen to the distant sound of the piano before you grab your robe and walk toward the playroom.
You find the door open already — the orange hue of the lights illuminates his silver hair and sharp jawline, his eye is closed while his fingers move in rhythm, each finger pressing the right note on the tempo, and you can see the frustration and tension leaving his shoulders the longer he plays.
Nocturne in C-sharp minor fills the air around you, and you remember how he played this the first time the two of you met; it was filled with so much laughter and excitement as he gushed about his love for classical pieces, how hard he tried to regain his posture and strength while he lost half of his eyesight. You guess you fell in love with him at that very second he sat behind the piano in the instrumental shop.
Your gaze falls on his hand, long denty fingers moving with grace, pressing the keys one by one, and you lean on the doorframe, fidgeting with the hem of your robe while you rub your thighs together, the images of how those same fingers have given you the most blissful orgasms ever flooding your mind.
You watch him pushing the pedals down, his eye following the path of the notes he has memorized on the keys, and you keep admiring his ethereal form. Sometimes it feels unbelievable to be the wife of such a beautiful and otherworldly man, to be this lucky to call yourself Mrs. Targaryen, yet, there are moments you recall how everyone told you that the same name comes with a curse, that Targaryen men are ambitious and cunning. They are right on both matters.
The slickness between your thighs gets worse the more you stare at him and his skillful fingers move as if this is the easiest piece known to mankind with how smoothly he is playing it.
He plays the last note, sighing softly as he retrieves his fingers from the keys, turning around to look at you with an easy smile on his thin lips.
“Thought you had left before I heard you playing,” you say, matching his smile, growing a bit nervous with how his eye drinks the sight of your exposed thighs.
“I had half a mind to do so,” he replies, extending his hand to show he wants you close, “C’mere,”
You push away from the doorframe, walking to where he is sitting before trailing your hand over his extended arm, his large palms coming to rest on your waist. He looks up at you, fingers gently massaging your back.
“I’m sorry, I…”
He shushes you, pressing a kiss to your stomach before placing his chin on the soft flesh, “I should apologize. I didn’t realize how terrible I was treating you. You are my priority, I should have treated you much better.”
“I…I was in the wrong too. It was very pathetic of me to act so desperately, I know how much your work means to you—“
“No, no,” he stands up, caging you between his body and the piano, forcing you to sit a bit on the keys, a not-so-great sound coming out of the instrument, “You aren’t desperate, and even if you are, you do have a great excuse for it. I neglected you for a job that can be done by anyone.”
“It was a petty argument anyway, I’m sorry for being mean. I miss you so much, that’s all,” you say, gasping when he picks you up so effortlessly by the back of your thighs, putting you on top of his royal piano before he takes home between your legs.
“I miss you too, sweetheart,” he whispers, leaning down to peck the corner of your lips, “I could see how truly desperate you were when you rubbed your pretty thighs together.”
“Y-you saw that?” You exhale, craning your neck to give him more space to attack the skin of your neck, littering his little bruises and bites all over you.
“I know my wife, I know her weaknesses. I could smell you from here, and I’m sure if I were to touch you down there…” he locks his eye with yours, one of his hands traveling down towards your panties, chuckling darkly, “my my, so wet and I haven’t even touched you yet.”
He brings his fingers to his mouth, licking your essence off them while he holds eye contact, watching how your lips part in desire as you keep your gaze fixed on his lips and tongue.
“Lay down, I need to apologize to my wife properly,” he pulls the strings of your robe, dropping the fabric on the floor, revealing the sheer fabric to his hungry eye, “I’m an idiot for taking you for granted. Fuck, baby, you look so delicious.”
You pant as his words go straight to your core, heat filling your belly and your wetness oozing out of you slowly. He puts his palm on your chest, gently pushing you back on the cold surface of the piano before he spreads your legs properly, humming as his good eye finds your glistening cunt.
He kisses your knee before pulling his chair closer and sit on it, his tall body giving him the advantage of coming to the same height as your body. Aemond preps your inner thighs with kisses, marking his territory with each nibble and bite which are rewarded by gasps and whimpers from you ever here and there.
He kisses your navel sweetly, nuzzling his head into your hand when you reach down to smooth a few wandering strands of his hair out of his face. You keep him close when he finally, after who knows how long, gives into his urges and attaches his lips to your buzzing clit, moaning as your sweet nectar finally roots its taste onto his tongue.
He is starved, and you realize soon with how he keeps his face buried into your cunt, tongue flickering over the bundle of nerves, teeth sinking into your flesh a little. He doesn’t seem to care about how messy he is eating you out, he has set his goal of making you at least come on his tongue twice tonight.
“Aemond!” your moans fill the room, back arching off the piano as he keeps you down by his hands on your hips, the tip of his tongue collecting your wetness happily while you writhe beneath him, feeling the knot in your belly tightening by the second.
He knows you like the back of his hand, so he speeds up a little, focusing on sucking and licking your clit while you buck your hips to his face. He loves how desperate you are for him, all laid out and pretty and ready to come just for him.
“Fuck, love, I’m—” You throw your head back, tangling your fingers through his hair before you explode on his tongue, whines of pleasure making him dizzy. He keeps flickering his tongue until you stop twitching and push his face away from your swollen pussy.
He grins at your breathless form, caressing your thighs as he stands up and kisses a path from your lower belly up to your lips over your nightgown before he pulls you in a searing kiss, letting you taste yourself on his pink bruised lips.
“I could feast on you all day, sweetheart. I should write a ballad in honor of your pretty cunt,” “You are unbelievable!” You giggle, leaning on your elbows to kiss him again, moving until you are at the edge with your husband between your legs, “You said twice, why are you still up here?” You whisper against his lips.
“I saw how you looked at my hands earlier. I think it would be only fair to make sure you forgive me if I fuck you with my fingers, hmm? You love them, I’m sure they can be convincing enough.”
You nod, words failing to come out of your mouth when he pushes the strands of your nightgown down your shoulders, the chilly air of the room hitting your bare breasts. He leans down to kiss the top of your chest, writing the ballad he promised with his lips over your skin.
His hand moves down where he was a few minutes ago, long digits rubbing between your soaked folds slowly. He makes sure you aren’t as sensitive as you were before he pushes one finger in, keeping you close to him with a hand on your back while the other works his finger in and out of you, drowning your moans with passionate kisses.
He adds another one, curving his fingers inside you slightly as he pushes them deeper, reaching your sweet spots effortlessly with how skilled and long his fingers are — courtesy of practicing piano from a young age.
“Aemond, fuck—please!” your desperate whine adds fuel to the fire starting inside him, and he compiles, fucking you faster with his hand while the rock of his palm rubs your clit with just the right amount of pressure.
You fall apart again easily, gasping as your thighs start shaking with how good he makes you come, lips forming into an O-shape while he keeps his pace up, making sure that you ride your high gracefully before he pulls you in for another rough kiss, his tongue invading your mouth quickly.
“I need you so much, sweetheart,” he says, unbuckling his belt before he pushes his pants and boxers down enough to pull out his weeping cock, “let me have you, baby, please.” “Yes, yes I need you too. It’s been so so long, Aem,” you reach to stroke him gently, scooting closer to him so he can pull you down a little, keeping you tucked between his firm body and piano while somehow holding you up by his large palms under your ass.
You guide him toward your entrance, gasping in union as soon as the fat tip of his cock breaches past your ring of muscles before he pushes himself deep inside you until there is none to take.
You cling to his shoulders as soon as he settles inside your cunt, his hot breath fanning on your face as he gets adjusted to your warmth. It’s been too long for both of you, but he makes a promise to not make the same mistake again, ever.
“Fuck, love, I missed you so much,” he groans in your ear as he starts thrusting up into you, the angle making him reach the deepest part of your pussy easily.
“Me too, baby…” you gasp, hips snapping into his as he goes faster, less patient and ready to devour you thoroughly. You take what he gives you, deep hard strokes that rock your world and leave you breathless and a moaning mess. He relishes every sound that falls from your lips, thinking to himself how no classical piece can ever come close to how beautiful you sound when he pleasures you, and he silently beats himself for neglecting you so much.
He is close, embarrassingly fast and he can feel you tightening around his girth with each thrust. Aemond hides his face in your neck, quickening his pace as he fucks you roughly, pulling screams of ecstasy out of you with ease.
“Come inside me,” you bite his earlobe, your breasts rubbing against his covered chest as you lean upward a little, “I need you, please, husband.”
“Then come with me, come now so I can give my girl what she wants,” he replies, snapping his hips faster into yours until you crumble in his arms, gushing around his cock a few seconds before he follows you, keeping his hips still as he pumps you full of his warm cum, your name falling from his lips like a prayer.
“Don’t you dare put us through that again, Aem, do you hear me?” you ask him, kissing the side of his face lovingly.
“I’d rather die than upset you again, beloved.”

"It's always something with you, isn't it? It's always an emergency," you say cheekily, a playful smile spreading across your face as you stand at the doorway of Lewis’s driver room. The paddock is a hive of activity, the anticipation for the race buzzing in the air, but here, in this moment, it feels like just the two of you.
Lewis grins, his eyes twinkling with mischief as he sits on the edge of the small sofa. "What can I say? I needed to see you. Forgot my headphones, can you believe that?" He pats his thighs, inviting you over.
You roll your eyes, knowing full well that the 'emergency' was just an excuse to steal a moment with you. “I knew it! You didn’t forget your headphones. You just wanted to see me.”
He laughs, a warm, rich sound that makes your heart flutter. "Guilty as charged. Come here," he says, his hands reaching out for you.
You step closer, and he gently pulls you between his legs, his hands settling comfortably on your waist. The familiar warmth of his touch sends a shiver down your spine. You lean into him, your foreheads touching, sharing a quiet moment amid the pre-race chaos.
"I missed you," he murmurs, his breath warm against your skin. "I’ve been so busy today with meetings and interviews, I barely had a second to myself."
You smile, your hands resting on his shoulders. "I missed you too. It’s been a hectic day."
He pulls back slightly, looking into your eyes. "I couldn’t wait until after the race to see you. I needed a little bit of you to get through the day."
You feel a warmth spread through you, your heart swelling with affection. "Well, here I am," you say softly. "Consider this your pre-race good luck charm."
Lewis’s grin widens, and he leans in to kiss you. It’s a gentle, lingering kiss that makes your heart race. When he pulls back, he starts peppering kisses all over your face—your cheeks, your nose, your forehead—making you giggle.
“Lewis!” you laugh, trying to squirm away from his playful assault. “You’re going to smudge my makeup!”
He chuckles, his hands firm on your waist. "I don’t care. I want my kisses!"
You melt into him, wrapping your arms around his neck. “You’re so clingy and cute, it’s adorable.”
For a few minutes, you just stay like that, wrapped up in each other, sharing soft kisses and whispered words. It’s a precious respite from the frenzy of the race day, a moment to recharge and reconnect.
As the minutes tick by, you continue to chat, the conversation flowing easily between you. You talk about everything and nothing—his meetings, your plans for the rest of the day, little inside jokes that only the two of you share. It’s these moments, the simple, everyday interactions, that make your relationship so special.
Lewis’s fingers trace idle patterns on your back as he talks, his touch sending pleasant shivers down your spine. "You know," he says, a thoughtful look crossing his face, "I’ve been thinking about taking some time off after the season ends. Just you and me, somewhere quiet. What do you think?"
Your eyes light up at the idea. "I think that sounds perfect. Where were you thinking?"
"Maybe a beach somewhere. Just us, the ocean, and no distractions."
You smile, imagining the two of you lounging on a sunny beach, the sound of the waves in the background. "That sounds amazing. I’d love that."
He leans in, his lips brushing against yours. "Then it’s a plan."
You kiss him softly, your heart swelling with love. "I can’t wait."
The sound of a knock on the door breaks the spell, and you both look up, slightly startled. Lewis sighs, his hands slipping from your waist. “Time to go.” he says reluctantly.
You nod, stepping back to give him space. "I know. Go do what you do best. I’ll be cheering for you."
He stands, pulling you into a final, tight hug. "Thank you for coming baby, even if it was just for a few minutes. I needed this."
You squeeze him back, your head resting against his chest. "Anytime, baby. I’m always here for you."
He kisses the top of your head, then reluctantly lets you go. "I’ll see you after the race."
You smile, giving him one last kiss on the lips before heading for the door. "Good luck. I love you."
"I love you too," he replies, watching you leave, a soft smile on his face.

A few days later, you’re at home, the quiet peace a stark contrast to the wild energy of the race track. You’re in the kitchen, baking some of Lewis’s favorite cookies, when you hear the door open.
“Baby, I’m home!” Lewis calls out, his voice filling you with warmth.
“In the kitchen!” you reply, smiling as you wipe your hands on a towel.
Lewis walks in, his face lighting up when he sees you. “Something smells amazing,” he says, coming over to wrap his arms around you from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder.
“Just a little treat for my hardworking husband,” you say, turning your head to kiss his cheek.
He smiles, a contented sigh escaping him. “You always know how to make everything better.”
You lean back into him, savoring the warmth of his embrace. “I try.”
The two of you spend the rest of the evening together, enjoying the simple pleasures of home. After dinner, you settle on the couch, Lewis’s head resting in your lap as you run your fingers through his hair.
“I’ve been thinking about that beach trip we talked about,” he says, looking up at you with a soft smile.
“Oh? Have you made any plans?” you ask, intrigued.
He nods, a twinkle in his eye. “I’ve booked us a place in the Maldives. Just you, me, and the ocean.”
Your eyes widen in surprise and delight. “Lew, that sounds amazing honey! When do we leave?”
“Next week,” he replies, grinning at your reaction.
You lean down to kiss him, your heart overflowing with love. “I can’t wait.”

The moment you step off the plane, you’re enveloped by the warm, salty breeze and the sound of waves gently crashing against the shore. It’s paradise, and you can’t wait to explore it with Lewis.
Your villa is a stunning overwater bungalow, complete with a private deck and direct access to the crystal-clear ocean. As you step inside, you’re greeted by the sight of a beautifully decorated space, the perfect blend of luxury and comfort.
“This place is beautiful,” you say, turning to Lewis with a wide smile.
He pulls you into his arms, his eyes sparkling with happiness. “I wanted this to be special. Just for us.”
“It’s perfect. I love you.,” you reply smiling, feeling a surge of gratitude and love.
“I love you” he says as his lips meet yours.

Meet & Greet... and more? Pt. 9
Pairing: Lando Norris x reader Words: 2937 Click here for Part 8
Please do not repost, thank you, and leave some feedback :)
The months passed by with Y/N and Lando’s relationship growing deeper steadily. In the 11 months they had been with each other they both had learned to cope with Lando’s busy lifestyle. The next Grand Prix was just around the corner and Lando had always thrived on the adrenaline of racing but today the excitement was dimmed by a heavy feeling of responsibility. Every detail needed his attention and this meant missing Noah’s fifth birthday party, which was less than a week away.
He glanced at the demanding schedule on his desk and felt a pang of guilt. He opened his laptop and called Y/N, hoping to at least share a moment of happiness remotely via video. When her face appeared on the screen the dining table in the background was cluttered with birthday decorations ready to be hung up, of course racing themed.
“Hey baby,” Lando said, trying to sound upbeat. “How’s everything going for the big day?”
“Hi,” Y/N’s smile was warm. “We’re getting everything ready, he’s really excited and he’s been asking about you a lot.”
Lando tried to mask his sadness with a smile. “I’m sorry I can’t make it, things are just incredibly hectic right now.”
“I know,” Y/N replied, her eyes filled with understanding and concern. “He understands and he’s so proud of you! He even drew a picture of you racing and he’s been showing it off to everyone. He’s really looking forward to when you’re back and we can all spend some time together.”
Just then the boy appeared on the screen, holding up the drawing with a beaming smiley face. “Lando, look! I made this for you, it’s you in the car!”
Lando’s heart melted at the sight. “Wow, Noah, that’s fantastic! I’m going to keep it in my suitcase to remind me of you.”
Noah’s face lit up. “Will you win the race for me?”
“I’ll definitely try my best,” Lando said sincerely. “And when I get back, we’ll have a special day together. How about we finally go to a go-kart track and race like I do? You can show me how fast you are.”
“Really? That sounds amazing!” Noah’s eyes sparkled with excitement and Y/N gave Lando a grateful look. “Thank you for making the effort to connect, even if you can’t be here in person.”
‐—-------
In the days following the video call Lando couldn’t shake the guilt of missing Noah’s birthday. He had promised to make it up to them and he was determined to keep that promise. Between the hectic preparations for the Grand Prix and the relentless schedule it seemed nearly impossible but Lando was set on finding a way.
Late one evening he sat in his living room and stared at his calendar. Meetings, strategy sessions and media obligations filled every available slot. But the more he looked, the more he felt that missing Noah’s birthday wasn't just a minor oversight, it was an opportunity lost to be there for someone who meant so much to him.
The idea was simple: create a small window of time to surprise them before the Grand Prix. It would be tight, but with some help he believed it could be done.
“Hey, Oscar, do you have a moment to chat?” Lando spoke into his phone after his team mate had picked up.
“Sure, what’s up?”
“I need a huge favor,” Lando said. “Noah’s turning five this week and I’ve been looking forward to celebrating his birthday with him. But with all the media meetings and events I have lined up I’m struggling to figure out how to be in two places at once.”
Oscar listened carefully. “What can I do to help?”
Lando took a deep breath. “I was wondering if you could cover some of my media meetings and sponsor commitments for a few days. Noah and Y/N are my family now and I can’t bear the thought of missing this day.”
“I get it, Lando. Family is everything, I’d be happy to help out.”
“Thank you, Oscar,” Lando felt a surge of relief, “Noah looks up to me and Y/N has been incredibly supportive during our entire relationship. I want to be there for both of them just this once.”
Oscar chuckled softly, finding Lando’s dedication endearing. “You know, it’s kind of cute to see how much you care about them. It’s clear how much they mean to you.”
Lando smiled, a bit embarrassed, grateful that Oscar wasn’t able to see him. “Well, when you find the right people it changes everything. I’m really lucky to have them in my life.”
“Just send me the details and I’ll make sure everything runs smoothly. You focus on having a great time.”
“Thank you so much,” Lando said gratefully. “It means more to me than you know. I’ll get you all the details in a bit.”
“No problem at all,” Oscar assured him. “We’re all part of a team here and we support each other. If there’s anything else you need just let me know.”
With their conversation wrapped up, Lando quickly called his assistant to inform him of the changes and then compiled the necessary details for Oscar, relieved and grateful for his friend’s support.
_________
The day of the surprise arrived and Lando boarded a private jet early in the morning, arriving in Y/N’s city just in time to make the most of his brief visit. He kept his plan a secret, even from Y/N, to ensure it would be a complete surprise.
When Lando arrived at Y/N’s house, he was greeted by colorful birthday decorations and the buzz of children’s laughter. Y/N opened the door, her eyes widening in disbelief when she saw him.
“Lando! What are you doing here?” Y/N gasped and hugged her boyfriend tightly before kissing him for a few seconds.
“Surprise! I couldn’t miss his birthday, so I rearranged my schedule to be here.”
Y/N’s face lit up with happiness. “He’s going to be thrilled. He’s been so excited for today.”
As Noah ran up to the hallway his face brightened when he saw Lando. “You came!”
Lando crouched down and the two of them hugged tightly for a moment, then Lando handed the birthday boy a large box wrapped in orange, his favorite color. “This is for you, happy birthday, buddy.”
Noah eagerly unwrapped the box to find a high-quality remote-controlled race car. His eyes widened. “This is amazing, it’s just like the car you drive!”
“It is,” Lando said with a grin. “And I thought we could have some fun together testing it out.”
Before they could start playing Noah’s friends, who had been watching from a distance, gathered around, their eyes wide with disbelief as they recognized Lando. The kids stared in awe, their excitement growing as Lando greeted them. “Hi everyone,” Lando said with a friendly wave. “I’m glad to finally meet all of Noah’s friends.”
The children took turns asking Lando questions about racing and they all spent the afternoon racing the remote-controlled car around the yard, with Noah’s friends eagerly joining in to cheer them on. The party was a huge success and after seeing the joy on Noah’s face Lando knew he had made the right decision.

The next evening Lando was preparing to leave for the Grand Prix when Y/N approached him, Noah standing next to her with a small, carefully wrapped package.
“Before you go, Noah has something he made for you,” Y/N said. “He and his class had a project where they crafted gifts for the special people in their lives. He was really excited about this and he wanted to give this to you next time you were here.”
The boy, standing beside Y/N, handed over the gift. “I picked you because you’re my hero.”
“Aw,” Lando responded, visibly touched by the gesture, “thank you so much, I can’t wait to see what you’ve created.”
Lando unwrapped it eagerly but just as carefully and he discovered a handmade notebook. The cover was decorated with stickers, including race cars, stars and an orange glittery “L.” Inside, the pages were filled with Noah’s heartfelt notes and colorful drawings about their adventures at the tracks so far together.
Lando felt himself tear up as he flipped through the pages. Each drawing depicted a different scene, a race car zooming across a track, Lando in his racing suit and Noah himself with a big smile in the garage. But it was the final page that truly got to him.
The last drawing was a vibrant crayon depiction of a family. It showed Lando, Y/N and Noah together, smiling and holding hands, surrounded by stars and hearts. The drawing was labeled with the words: “Our Happy Family.”
Lando could barely keep himself from crying. He turned to Noah, who was watching him with wide, hopeful eyes. “This is the most beautiful drawing I’ve ever seen. It means so much to me that you see us this way.”
“I wanted you to have something special because you’re always so busy and away from us.”
Y/N, seeing Lando’s emotional reaction, added softly, “Noah was so proud of his project. He wanted you to know how much you mean to him.”
Just in that moment Y/N’s phone rang and she stepped away to answer. Lando took the opportunity to grab Noah’s hand and guide him to sit down next to him on the sofa. “Can I tell you something, Noah?”
The boy looked up, curious. “What is it?”
Lando took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. “I want you to know how much I love both you and your mom. Being with you two has made me happier than I’ve ever been.”
Noah’s eyes widened with interest. “Really?”
“Really,” Lando said, nodding. “And there’s something I’ve been thinking about. I want to ask your mommy to marry me but I wanted to make sure you’re okay with it first.”
“You mean you want to be our family forever?” Noah’s face lit up with excitement and the young man smiled, feeling relieved. “Yes, that’s exactly what I mean. I want us to be a family, just like in your drawing. What do you think?”
Noah thought for a moment, then asked shyly, “If you’re going to be our family, you kind of would be my dad then?”
Lando’s heart melted. “That would make me very happy. But let’s keep this a secret for now, okay? We’ll surprise your mommy together when the time is right.”
Noah nodded enthusiastically. “Okay, I won’t tell anyone,” he whispered and the both shared a big smile while Noah snuggled up to the man.
_____
Lando had spent the last few weeks juggling the thrill of Formula 1 races with the excitement of planning a surprise that meant more to him than any victory on the track. He had been dating Y/N for well over a year now, a year that had flown by in a blur of love and laughter. Their relationship had grown and Lando knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
There was just one thing missing: the perfect proposal. So, he decided to involve someone very important in his plan, someone who would have a unique perspective and whose opinion mattered a lot to both Y/N and Lando. That someone was Noah.
During his next weekend off Lando gently woke Y/N one morning and informed her about the day’s agenda.
“Good morning, love,” Lando said softly, smiling and kissing her forehead. “I’ve got a little surprise planned for you today.”
Y/N blinked sleepily. “Oh? And what’s that?”
“I’m taking Noah for a boys’ day out. You’re going to have a day to yourself; shopping, pampering, whatever you want, baby. Just relax and enjoy.”
“And what are you two up to?”
Lando gave a mysterious grin. “You’ll find out soon enough. Have fun today!”
With that he placed a loving kiss on her head and quietly tiptoed over to Noah’s room where the boy was already awake, the space a cheerful mess of toys.
“Good morning, buddy,” Lando greeted, tousling his hair. “Are you ready for a little secret mission?”
Noah’s eyes widened with curiosity. “A mission? What kind of mission?”
Lando knelt down to Noah’s level, a playful grin on his face. “It’s a very important mission. I need your help to plan something really special for your mommy.”
“What is it?” Noah’s face lit up with excitement.
“Remember when I told you a while ago that I wanted to ask your mom to marry me?” Lando asked. “I need your help to make sure it’s perfect. Can you help me with it?”
Noah’s eyes sparkled with delight. “Yes, I’ll help! What do we need to do?”
Before they were able to head out they had to get ready. First he had to get the boy dressed. Lando picked out a pair of comfy jeans, then held up a colorful, striped shirt and a grey hoodie.
“Which one?” Lando asked, holding them up for Noah to see.
“This one,” Noah pointed at the hoodie, “so we look like twins because you’re wearing a similar hoodie.”
“Great choice,” Lando laughed, setting the clothes on the bed. “I have to start selling some LN4 merch for kids…” he mumbled to himself, still giggling while helping the kid put on the hoodie, carefully guiding his head through the hole and then assisting him with the jeans.
Next up were the shoes. Noah struggled a bit with the laces, so Lando patiently demonstrated how to tie them with the boy sitting on his lap and intensively watching the man make two bows and soon Noah was proudly showing off his neatly tied sneakers.
“You’re all set, bud” Lando said, giving Noah a playful fist bump.
Noah looked down at himself, beaming with pride. “Thanks, I look great.”
“You sure do,” Lando chuckled and a few minutes later they were on their way.
Lando could hardly contain his own excitement as they headed out, Noah chattering away about superheroes and cars. They made their way to a luxurious jewelry store that Lando had carefully selected and once inside Lando crouched down to Noah’s level.
“Okay, buddy, here’s the plan. We’re going to pick out the prettiest ring we can find for your mommy. I want it to be perfect and I need your expert opinion. Do you think you can help me with that?”
The boy nodded proudly. They wandered through the store and he would occasionally stop to inspect a ring with intense focus. Lando enjoyed watching Noah’s careful consideration, amazed at just how seriously the little kid took his task.
After a while, Noah stopped in front of a classic, elegant ring with a solitaire diamond. His eyes grew big and he looked up at Lando with a confident grin. “I think this one is the best! It’s so shiny and pretty!”
Lando studied the ring. It was perfect; timeless and beautiful, just like Y/N. He smiled and nodded, clearly impressed. “I think you’re right. This is the one!”
Noah beamed with pride as the ring was carefully packaged. “I can’t wait to see mommy’s face when she sees it!”
With the ring selected they headed to a nearby fast food restaurant where Lando turned to Noah for ideas for the proposal. Over shared chicken nuggets, fries and milkshakes they came up with a perfect plan and after they had finished their meals and bought the rest of the supplies they would need they quickly made their way home knowing that Y/N was still going to be out for another few hours.
Back at the house they worked together to prepare the living room. They created a colorful path by lining the walls with some pictures Noah quickly drew, depicting past memories the three of them had made together and at the end of the trail is where they were going to wait for her.
When Y/N arrived a few hours later she followed the trail of Noah’s drawings, her heart swelling with emotion as she admired each piece, confused about what was happening but curious to find out what was awaiting at the end of the trail. Eventually she saw Noah with the biggest smile on his face, holding a large sign that read “Will You Marry Lando?”
In the center of the room and next to her son stood Lando, surrounded by Y/N’s favorite flowers and big red shiny heart balloons scattered around him and Noah. He took Y/N’s hand, his voice filled with emotion. “Y/N, we’ve been planning something special for you today.”
Noah, proudly holding the sign and not being able to wait any longer, added, “Mommy, Lando and I picked out a ring for you. We wanted it to be perfect!”
Y/N’s eyes filled with tears as she looked back at Lando who dropped to one knee, holding out the beautiful ring. “Y/N, I love you more than words can express and I want nothing more than to be a family with you and Noah. Will you marry me?”
Overwhelmed with emotion Y/N nodded, tears streaming down her face. “Yes, Lando. Of course I will!”
Noah jumped up and down with joy just as Lando slipped the ring onto Y/N’s finger. They embraced each other tightly, with Noah joining in, sharing kisses knowing that the journey of their little family was just starting.

leon kennedy x consensual somnophilia
it was never something leon would have ever considered.
sex was always something leon would do with you, not to you — and he wanted it that way. he loved making you beg for it, loved watching your reactions, loved watching you start off shy and end up a mouthy mess, barely making any sense. it was part of the fun.
he’d been coming home late as of recently, either called out onto some kind of ridiculous mission, or stacked high with paperwork that kept him back after hours working overtime. he was making great money, you couldn’t complain — leon using his overtime earnings to spoil you like you deserved, but it was stealing the most valuable thing of all from you, and that was him.
you were needy, needed his physical affection, his cock bruising your insides and strong arms wrapped around you grounding you — reminding you that he was here, and yours, and safe. it just wasn’t possible lately, only seeing him in the mornings before he’d leave. you tried really hard to stay awake when he’d get home, yawning and rubbing your eyes as you’d text him and tell him— but you’d usually get hit with the ‘You need your rest, baby. Go to sleep.’ text response and who are you to argue? you couldn’t if you tried, often falling asleep with the lamp on, sprawled atop the sheets. his tired frame would find you like that when he returns home, shaking his head with a tired chuckle and tucking you in. leon looks after you like that.
you’d awoken with a plan, waking up earlier than leon’s alarm and padding into the kitchen to make him breakfast before he leaves— making his morning easier by laying out his clothes, his badge, his wallet — really playing at housewife, which you both enjoyed.
he was smiling sleepily when he found you in the kitchen, serving up his food to go so that he wasn’t late.
“whats all this, hm?” he smirks as he approaches you, pulling you toward him by the hips and pressing a grateful kiss to the centre of your forehead.
“just wanna treat you right, i know you’re working hard and you’re tired… i miss you though.” you exhale slowly, still sleepy yourself as you burrow your cheek to his chest. his heart pangs a little at your sad tone, stroking down the back of your dishevelled head.
“i know, sweetheart. i’m sorry i’ve been so busy, works been hectic lately but things should be clearing up soon. then i can take some time off, spend time with my number one.” his sympathetic tone fades to a grin, running a thumb over your cheek when you smile with him.
“‘kay.” you seem satisfied, walking him to the door, watching him pull his fur lined jacket on to protect him from the chilly winter weather outside. the jacket makes him seem even bigger than he is, which makes you bite back a needy giggle as you hand him his brown paper bag with his breakfast inside.
“alright, baby. thanks for the food. i’ll be back later.” he pinches your chin affectionately. “wheres my kiss?” he tilts his head a little with a playful smirk, and you don’t wait another second before standing on your tiptoes and planting a kiss to his lips, savouring the feeling knowing you’ll miss him all day. it was then time to propose your plan.
you pull back, and he goes to step away but you speak, as casually as possible.
“oh, and leon. if you come home and you need me, you can use me whilst i sleep if you’d like. i don’t wear panties to bed.” you smile innocently, before pulling back fully. “see you later!” you usher him out as he stares back in shock, not giving him time to respond. you all but kick him out as you giggle, going about your day.
he’d thought about it a lot that day.
he couldn’t do that to you, right? use you whilst you slept. it was… degrading. inherently wrong. his sweet girl, unaware of his touch. and yet, you were so willing, the look in your eyes when you’d permit him access to you whilst you slept haunted him all day. you’d tried to play it cool, but leon knew you too well — knew that needy, neglected look in your eyes. you were practically begging to be touched. had it really been that long?
he’d arrived home late as usual, and by the time he did, with all the work that had been lumped onto him he’d pretty much forgotten momentarily about that morning, that was until he entered the bedroom.
it’s like you’d set the scene perfectly for him.
he puffs out his cheeks a little as he exhales, running hands over his cheeks like he was trying to wipe off water. you were there, fast asleep on the bed wearing just his t-shirt. the blankets had been kicked down to just cover one foot, bunching up on your other side — and your leg was cocked up as you lay on your stomach. he creeps further into the room, sighing at how beautiful you looked illuminated only by the bright moonlight. his tshirt had ridden up, revealing your plump ass and glistening wet cunt in the low light. poor thing, he thinks — you’d gone to bed all needy.
he’s surprised the sound of his belt clinking as he undoes it doesn’t wake you, usually having a rather pavlovian effect on you to make you salivate whenever you hear it. he still feels slightly guilty despite the clear permission you’d given ringing bright and new in his memory. there was nothing wrong with just getting comfy and laying beside his girl, right?
he wedges himself gently behind you, still wearing his clothes, and in your sleep you habitually shuffle up closer to him, pressing your bare ass against his cock. he winces, hand coming up to caress the skin there. “fuck.” he murmurs, cock hard in his jeans.
maybe he could just jerk himself off, right here beside you. that wasn’t so bad, right? he pulls his pants and boxers down to his knees and quickly gets to work, the other hand carefully pinching the material of his tshirt and lifting it slowly to reveal more skin to him. he inhales, jaw slacking a little at the sight of your curves as he touches himself— and he feels himself getting more desperate. what’s the harm in playing with you just a little?
he slows his movements on his own cock, bringing his hand slowly to your ass again, rubbing soothing circles on the skin. his hand creeps from there to between your legs, his fingers experimentally swiping through your soaked folds. you must’ve prepared yourself before you slept. a wave of heat rushed through him as he wondered if you went to bed this wet every night since he’d been working so much and not pleasing you. without thought his fingers slide up to your clit, giving it a few affectionate rubs like he usually would. you whine sleepily and he shushes you.
“it’s okay baby, it’s me.”
you don’t seem to stir, and his blood is fucking pumping. he leans over you, using his strong arm to hold himself up and swipes his tip through your folds, coating himself in your slick. “so god damn wet.” he hisses, brows knitting. he gets himself into a comfortable position before pushing himself a little just past the tip.
you cry out a little into the pillow, and he hears himself shushing you again. “i know sweet girl, just me.” he sighs, pressing his forehead against your back.
he keeps you like that for a while, arm trembling a little whilst he holds himself up. you just feel so good, swallowing half of him — and he realises just how pent up he’s been since he’d been working overtime. he slowly bottoms out, letting out the most pornographic yet quiet moan, perfectly forming an ‘ugh’ sound in the air as you squeeze around him. he starts to grind in and out of you, and only then you stir — always the heavy sleeper.
you let out a disorientated yet pleased whine, clenching down hard as your consciousness comes to the surface. leon, mounting you still, wraps one thick arm beneath your stomach, effortlessly holding you to him as if you were a pillow or a stuffed animal — the other thick forearm wedged itself beneath you to work at your clit, light but slightly frenzied circles pressed against it. you let out a sleepy sob, drool painting your chin as your noises come out muffled to the pillow.
“you’re okay, pretty girl. s’just me remember. fuck. you still sure you want me up in here?” you feel his clothed stomach against your back.
“mhm!” you rasp, barely awake just drifting in and out of what felt like a perfect wet dream.
soon you’re clenching down hard again, almost trapping his movement. he lets you hump your clit on the heel of his hand as he tried his hardest to look round at you from his position. “you wanna cum on it, baby? yeah?” he cooes, slightly whiny and high pitched signalling he wasn’t far behind you. “such a good girl giving yourself to me like this. gonna treat you all fuckin’ night, make up for lost time.” he really is whining now, the soft sounds of his pelvis clapping against your ass filling the room.
you snuggle against him as best as you can, eyes squeezing shut as you feel yourself waking up properly to a hearty orgasm on your boyfriends thick cock.
but leon wasn’t done yet. needless to say, he was tired at work the next day.

txt reaction: random kisses
summary: in which you miss your boyfriend so much you can’t help but kiss him!
pairing: reader x ot5
genre: fluff; 1.7k total
a/n: trying something new! I probably won’t do these too often because I have been overthinking each prompt for months! let me know if you prefer short or long stories for these! beomgyu’s is already longer lmao im having a bamtori moment ><
yeonjun - when he’s busy
between group schedules and inkigayo appearances, it seemed like the universe didn’t want you and your boyfriend to have a moment together. of course you understood. he’s a busy idol after all, but it still didn’t make it hurt less. but one thing that yeonjun always told you is that the offer to visit him was always open, no matter how guilty you felt about it. and today just seemed like one of those days where you might actually take that offer.
after talking things through with the boys’ manager and getting a staff member to guide you, you arrive at the inkigayo filming area. it was strange to see how small the interview set was in real life, especially because everyone seemed to think it was an actual room!
you politely squeeze past a few people to get a better look at your boyfriend in action. you can’t help but smile at his cute mannerisms, charisma, and how everyone in the room seems to adore him. after a while, one of the staff members taps you on the shoulder and asks if you would like to move to his dressing room. you agree and wait patiently.
the sound of the door opening interrupts your thoughts, and you look up to see your boyfriend with a shocked look on his face. “baby? you came?!” he exclaims excitedly. you smile warmly and run up to give him a sweet kiss that just so happens to be long overdue. yeonjun giggles as you deepen the kiss and wrap your arms around his neck. “mmph– I hate to interrupt, but what made you decide to finally come?” he pulls away, slightly flustered at how eager you are (but in a good way).
“i’m sorry!” you whine, burying your head in his chest. “I missed you so much, and I’m sorry if this is a bad time–” yeonjun cuts you off by lifting your chin and placing another kiss on your lips.
“never a bad time, baby.” he shakes his head. “I’ve missed you so much, and I know things have been hectic lately…” you smile sadly and nod in agreeance. “but! i’m going to make it up to you this weekend, ‘kay? they just told us we have some free time.”
your eyes light up, and you hug your boyfriend tightly.
“I love you, yeonjun, thank you.”
“anything for you, baby.”
soobin - when he’s sleeping too cutely
you watch as your boyfriend’s chest rises up and down, letting out small puffs of air. you smile softly at how peaceful he looks, knowing full well how busy promotions have been lately. sometimes your boyfriend looked the most beautiful when he was sleeping. the one time when his mind wasn’t full of worries, and his shoulders no longer held the burdens of others.
you quietly giggle as you scan over his body laying in a position that you just can’t seem to wrap your brain around. why is his leg twisted that way? you try your absolute hardest to keep your laughs to yourself. he needs his rest, but he just looks adorable… aaand you kinda miss him an abnormal amount. maybe it would be best for him to move anyway. he wouldn’t mind, right? whatever happens, please forgive me. this is your fault for being too damn cute.
unable to resist your cuteness aggression, you lean down closer to his face and place a tender kiss on his cheek. then another. and another. and finally he shuffles. “mmm… y/n?” he murmurs sleepily. you bring your hand to his cheek to rub it softly. “hi baby, i’m sorry for waking you..” you whisper.
soobin pulls you close, copying your previous actions by kissing your cheek too. “s’ okay, i’ve missed you too.”
wait what?
“ you… miss me too?” you echo. your boyfriend nods his head, shutting his eyes again as if nothing happened. “how did you know I was thinking that?” he lets out a snort at this. “because I love you, and I also know you like the back of my hand.” before you could even respond or complain, soobin leans in to kiss you deeply, making you sigh and melt into his arms. as you pull away, you quietly chuckle and tap the side of his arm.
“let’s head to bed, my love.”
beomgyu - when he’s playing video games
you could hear the echoes of your boyfriend’s yells from the other room. the two of you had spent the afternoon together visiting a local record shop and decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing at home. after watching a movie, you inevitably went your separate ways to do your own things.
however, you eventually got bored. there were only so many tiktoks you could scroll through without feeling drained. so, feeling curiosity take over you, you sneak back into your shared room, peeking at the back of your boyfriend’s round head. you watch him silently, waiting for his team to capture the objective. you had watched him play enough times to know when it was coming to an end.
“ah shit! that was a good game.” he says into the mic as the winning sign takes over the screen, then he queues into another game. as you tip toe closer to him, the chatter of his friends start to louden as the sound leaks from his headphones.
you wrap your arms around beomgyu’s neck, resting them on his chest as you place a kiss on his cheek.
“babe?” he flinches a little at your sudden movement. “hey, what’s up?” he cancels the queue, ignoring the commotion and confusion coming from his discord call.
“nothing… I just missed you…” you smile against his neck, turning his head to kiss him properly. as you smack lips, beomgyu gets a little dizzy. he lets out a few groans and a few giggles, eventually pulling away to look up at you with his lips curling into his famous v-shape
“you want me to log off?” he asks shyly.
a part of you wants to say yes, but you already spent so much time with him for the day. you knew that he’s been trying his best to rank up recently, and time was never really on his side. it was important that you allowed him to have fun with his hobbies as well.
you shake your head, fingers playing with the hair that was soon growing to meet his shoulders. "no, it's okay. enjoy yourself! besides, I missed watching you play," you smile, eyes filled with affection. “that is… if it’s okay? can I?”
beomgyu can’t help but smile. one of his many favorite things about you was that you didn’t mind him playing his favorite games, and you even liked to watch and cheer him on too.
“c’mon my little lucky charm,” he chuckles, patting his lap enthusiastically while pulling you down by your waist.
despite the sound of keyboard clicks and endless trash talking coming from both your boyfriend’s mouth and his headphones, you drift off to sleep, occasionally feeling his lips meet your forehead.
taehyun - when he’s working out
it had been an hour or so since taehyun left a small kiss on your cheek, telling you that he was going to the home gym room. with schedules in the way, it was hard to him to do his proper workouts the way he wanted to. you knew this, but you couldn’t help but feel a bit clingy after the tiring day you had.
after tiptoeing over to the doorway, you’re met with the sight of your boyfriend facing the other way while lifting a set of weights. you sneakily tiptoe over to wrap your arms around his waist while nuzzling your head into his neck.
"hey," he says, a mix of amusement and affection in his voice as his body vibrates with laughter. "i’m kinda in the middle of something here, darling.”
you giggle, leaning in to give him a quick kiss on his sweaty cheek. "I know but…” you begin, smile slowly fading away as you remember the way you were late for work. the way your boss looked at you in disappointment as you gave your presentation. “I missed you a lot, i’m sorry.”
taehyun’s expression softens, and he sets aside his exercise equipment for a moment to hold you in his arms. "I missed you too," he replies, returning your affection with a passionate kiss, reminding each other that even in the busiest of times, your love was always a priority. “how about I finish up really quickly, and then we can go out somewhere together?”
you smile and nod.
“now, I could use a liittle more motivation to finish this set."
huening kai - when he’s practicing the piano
you peek in through the door that kai often used to practice, the sight and sound of your boyfriend’s fingers dancing across the piano making you smile. he notices your presence and stops. “oh? hi princess!”
you ignore his words and walk over to the stool where he was seated. you cup his face in your hands and kiss him softly, making him sigh happily.
“mmph- sit.” he manages to let out through kisses.
“huh?”
“sit on my lap.” he smiles at you.
you chuckle softly, a blush coloring your cheeks as you comply with his request. you gently sit on his lap, arms circling around his neck while you continue to shower him with affectionate kisses. a piano bench isn’t the most comfortable for two people on top of each other, but in this moment, with kai’s fingers lingering on your waist, it was the most comfortable place in the world.
“I missed you, y’know…” you confess quietly, pulling back to rest your forehead against his. kai chuckles and tilts his head in confusion. “I haven’t gone anywhere, though?”
“I know, silly! but sometimes, even when you’re here, I miss you,” you sheepishly try to explain your feelings, starting to feel a bit embarrassed, “sorry if it doesn’t make sense…”
kai’s expression softens, and he holds you a little tighter. “no no, I understand! I feel that way too sometimes,”
“can we stay like this for a while?” you ask.
“of course, princess.”

୨ৎ Keeping it Cute (& Dangerous) Masterlist
“If I could describe you in one word, Suo, I’d say that you’re –” “Intelligent? Patient? Cheeky?” “Insufferable.” He laughs lightly at your words as if you hadn’t just offended him, before gazing down at you with a look that screams mischief and something else that you can’t quite place yet.
It’s funny – before all of this, you didn’t think life could go any other way for you but the path you’d chosen.
You were fine with being alone. If it guarantees the safety of your hometown, then so be it. If your brother could make sacrifices, then so could you.
And you did.
Leaving wasn’t supposed to be easy, that much you knew. Walking away from the town meant you were leaving the memories you’d made there and the people that you’d grown to love.
Was it lonely at first? Of course. But as with everything in life, it just took time for this to become your new normal. You knew what you had signed up for when you left – so were you really that shocked that you began missing the presence of others or the feeling of being needed?
Everything was fine – at least, that’s what you told yourself.
But, being here, in Makochi – you didn’t think you’d ever experience those feelings again.
That feeling of being wanted, needed, and loved.
And suddenly – you weren’t so alone anymore.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
It didn’t take much longer for the other boys to finally find where you and Suo were.
They came running in a frenzy, eyes wide and out of breath, and you couldn’t help the small chuckle that left your lips at the sight.
Did they really care that much? They didn’t even know you. But … they wanted to, and that meant more to you than you’d like to admit.
… It was getting harder to ignore the budding warmth in your chest and the crinkle in your eyes.
Whether it was due to Suo’s words or the overwhelming feeling of being, for the first time in what felt like forever, seen and understood – you allowed yourself, just this once, to hope again.
Fine. If they wanted to, you’d let them. You’d take Suo’s words for face value, and meet them first with your head held up high, like a tiger would. Were you afraid? Absolutely. But – you were hopeful, and that made all the difference.
They stare at you, their faces expecting the worst, and you pity them just a bit. It wouldn’t do them any good to worry – and you were every bit gracious and kind, so you throw them a bone.
You were, after all, weak to dreamy guys.
“Alright,” you let out a deep sigh, “Who wants my number?”
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
It starts with a simple invitation through text.
Nirei messages you first, inviting you to meet him at a place called Café Pothos, and you genuinely consider saying no and that you’re busy – but then, you remember the puppy dog eyes that he has so diligently mastered, and you just can’t find it in your heart to say no to a face like that.
(Unbeknownst to you, he’s quick to catch on. This would become your downfall.)
When you arrive, you recognize it as the place that they had brought you to before. Back then, you’d been in a much more hectic headspace, so you hadn’t taken the time to appreciate all the little details about it. Now, though, you were able to admire the flourishing plants all over the café and the aroma of coffee in the air.
Upon entering, you see a girl behind the counter, and you’re quick to take a sharp inhale because – she’s pretty.
You weren’t sure what the people in Makochi ate, but it was terribly unfair that everyone here happened to be blessed with the most spectacular genes that you’ve ever witnessed in your life.
It was, quite honestly, so fucked up.
As you glance around the café, you notice that you’re the only one here – and that she’s staring at you with a good-natured grin on her face.
She’s warm and inviting as she beckons you over, asking what you’d like and if you’re from out of town.
(You make a mental note to gain some sort of backbone against attractive people.)
You easily fall into a conversation with her as she prepares a cup of coffee for you, and you learn that her name is Kotoha and that she’s over at the café more often than not.
“You could easily be a model, you know,” you tell her earnestly, and she blushes as she waves off your comment.
Once you introduce yourself, her face lights up with recognition – and now, it was your turn to blush.
“Oh! That’s you! I’ve heard about you! In fact, they haven’t stopped talking about you –”
You should’ve expected this, really – but you didn’t. It had been so long since you were on the receiving end of showered praise like this, and you’d already gotten your fill a couple days prior. So, to say that this was overwhelming was an understatement.
“...And,” she continues with a wink, “You’re as pretty as they said you were.”
Your fingers shoot up to cover your lips – partly in shock but mostly in disbelief because you can’t wrap your head around the fact that they’ve been telling people that and –
“Oh! What’s got you looking so red, bunny?”
…
You weren’t sure if you were going to make it long enough for Nirei to arrive.
Actually, you weren’t sure if you were going to make it long enough in this town.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
To your relief, Nirei comes soon after, and you’re saved from the onslaught of the two biggest instigators that you’ve ever met.
The minute he walks in, you’re immediately jumping out of your seat to greet him, and he matches your energy in a heartbeat. He’s greeting you just as enthusiastically, though you don’t have it in you to explain why you’re so happy to see him. And – you notice that he’s tacked on “-san” to the end of your name.
(If you squint, you can almost make out the furious wagging of a tail.)
The eyes of Suo and Kotoha glinting with sadistic delight behind you only serve as a reminder of the hell that you had once endured, and you silently thank whatever higher power is out there that Nirei has the heart of an angel.
“Thank you for meeting me here! I meant to ask you this when we first met, but you just kept running away!”
On second thought, you’re not so sure now about that last tidbit.
He begins bombarding you with questions, from your height, to your blood type, to what you look for in a partner, and you briefly wonder if the town of Makochi is hell personified.
“How about we sit down first, Nirei? At, uh – the table right over there in the corner.”
Nirei nods, and you’re so glad that he’s at least a good listener – until he spots Kotoha and Suo.
In the same fashion that a puppy would, he instantly goes over to greet them, takes a seat, looks at you, then pulls out the seat next to him – and pats it with his hand.
“I –”, you stumble over your words, shaking your head at him.
Oh god, were you the puppy?
… No. You were NOT a puppy (or a bunny).
You would stand your ground, and give him an ultimatum. That’s what you would do.
But then he starts giving you the eyes, the puppy dog eyes, and you feel yourself start to waver — but you must persist.
When faced with a challenge, when standing in the path of uncertainty, you must prevail and —
Kotoha and Suo join in, though their eyes don’t quite hit that same twinkle of desperation that Nirei’s does.
Still — you admit defeat.
You sigh before slowly trudging over to the chair that had been so kindly pulled out for you. You really had to pull yourself together.
Tomorrow, you tell yourself. Tomorrow. I’ll have a backbone by tomorrow.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
You do not, in fact, build a backbone.
At this point, you’re not even sure you know what a backbone even is anymore.
What you do know, though, is that –
Muscle Power is one of Tsugeura’s favorite food joints in Makochi. You personally really like their banana pound cake – and he knows this. So, whenever he’s in the mood to go when everyone else conveniently can’t – he knows that he can always count on you to keep him company.
You also find out that he’s really into wrestling, though you’re not so sure if this was much of a secret in the first place. It had all happened so casually too, and honestly, you hadn’t even noticed when you chimed into the conversation.
The 6 of you were sat at the café, though you were sat at a table separate from theirs as you calculate your budget for the month. You thought it’d be a peaceful experience, just you in a corner and Kotoha behind the counter, but once one of them starts filing in, they all file in.
You try to block them out as best you can as you do calculation after calculation, but you were never that good at multitasking. As your concentration shifts to focus on the numbers in your notebook, you subconsciously start picking up on their conversation.
You hear Tsugeura go on a tangent about BxB Hulk, a wrestler that both you and your brother had really admired, but he seems stuck as he tries to remember the year he made his debut.
“...2005,” you say absentmindedly, deep in thought as you stare at your notebook, “... with the Dragon Gate Dojo.”
You go to circle something, but Tsugeura’s gasp of shock makes you jump instead. You go to give him an accusatory look, but they’re all looking at you in a similar fashion.
You blink at their reactions before tilting your head, “What?... I’m not wrong, am I?”
You had no idea that those words would give you a permanent spot as Tsugeura’s #1 person to talk about wrestling with – and you’d never admit this but – you were just as passionate about it as he was.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
You learn that Kiryu is stupidly good at crane games – though, you’ve been able to win a couple stuffed animals for him too so you’d say it’s even. He also teaches you some of his favorite hairstyles, and you do, in fact, confirm that his hair smells as good as it looks.
When you find out about his older sister, everything suddenly clicks for you, and you understand now why you’re so comfortable around him and why he’s so good at being able to pick up on even the smallest changes in you.
Whenever your time of the month came, he’d seem to always be stocked up with chocolate, an extra pad or two, and ibuprofen. If you did something new with your makeup, like a new lip color or a different pair of lashes, it’d be the first thing that he comments on when he sees you. And – he always checks in on you. If it’s been a couple of days since you’d last seen them, he’s sending you a quick text asking if you’ve eaten or inviting you to a casual hangout.
There seems to be no end to his thoughtfulness, and it’s something that you learn to appreciate very deeply.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Sakura, despite the attitude he portrays and the things he may say, is a huge softie (you belatedly find out that the pink, sometimes red, on his face that blooms at the most random of times is in fact not a skin condition but indeed his blush).
And, you’re glad to learn that he’s as strong as he says he is.
It begins with a petty argument – something about vegetables and how he doesn’t eat them – but you’re both so stubborn that your harmless comment eventually turns into an all out confrontation. And, when he asks if you want to take it outside – you say yes.
You admit that you were worried that he’d be the type to pull back his punches in a fight because you’re you, but you’re pleasantly surprised when he, instead, runs towards you with all the strength of a bulldozer.
As you dodge and evade his moves, you realize how talented he truly is. You had a feeling, of course, but to see in action the way that he has total control of his body is a different beast altogether.
When you get in close to try and land a kick to his head, you see a smile on his face as he blocks it with his arms. But his smile isn’t condescending or mocking. No, this is a smile that shows that he’s having fun, that he finds you worthy – and you don’t try to stop the smile that’s growing on your face either.
He really reminded you of your brother.
Your sparring only lasts for a couple of minutes before Nirei pulls out those damned puppy dog eyes, but it's enough for you both to find newfound respect in one another.
And, as he goes to fix his jacket, he mutters a quiet, “I took that seriously, y’know.”
You grin, a radiant laugh bursting from your lips as you look up at him and say, “I’d be offended if you didn’t.”
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
To your surprise, Nirei has a sharp memory and an even sharper tongue.
You’ve tried to lie your way out of several hangouts – he always calls you out with no remorse.
(“Ah, man, I’d love to, truly, but I forgot that my laundry is out drying so I really should –”
“You said you folded your clothes yesterday, remember?”)
But as much as you hated it, you couldn’t help but also appreciate the way that he genuinely cared for his friends with his heart on his sleeve. He was earnest, loyal, and caring – everything that you’d soon come to admire about him.
And, when he finds out that you enjoy going to secondhand stores too? Oh, he blows up your phone at least 3 times a month asking if you’d like to join him on yet another “hunt”. This, though, was a hangout that you’d never say no to. It was always so fun getting to dig around together to see what you could find (your brother was never one for shopping), and you enjoyed this time because you got to know even more about the other boys through Nirei, who spoke about them with shining eyes and pride in his voice.
He really was an amazing storyteller – and an even better friend.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Kotoha is as honest as she is loving – and you’re so grateful to have grown so close to her within such a short time. After your initial meeting, you find yourself hanging out at Café Pothos way more often than you’d like to admit, and you come to admire how diligent, hardworking, and compassionate she is.
Your friendship with her blossoms naturally, and at some point she begins to join you and Nirei on your little thrifting trips. She becomes someone that you feel comfortable with confiding in, and you’re delighted to find out that it goes both ways.
And aside from all of this – she also manages to help you get a job at Café Pothos alongside her.
When you’d mindlessly mentioned once that you were running short on your funds from your last job (as a result of all the hangouts that you were, regretfully, indulging in), Kotoha was the one who offered to see if there was an opening available at the café. When you came in on your first day for training – she was the one showing you the ropes and guiding you with her hands.
And, when you finally met her brother, well –
The first time you meet Umemiya, you (understandably) burst into tears, and he (understandably) freaks the fuck out.
Nirei, with your tearful eyes and a nod of approval, clues him in on your backstory.
By the end of it, you’ve managed to slow down the crying to only a few tears, a fond look on your face as you listen to Nirei speak.
You open your mouth, ready to apologize but Umemiya beats you to it.
He has a hand gently patting the top of your head, and a smile on his face.
But that smile – it says so many things all at once.
So many things that you haven’t felt in so long.
“He would be proud of who you’ve become.”
And, for the first time since his death, you finally let your body relax.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
But Suo, despite all of this, remains ever mysterious and tight-lipped.
You still don’t know too much about him, and you’re not privy to prying for information either (though you admit that you’ve asked Nirei about him once or twice). What you are able to gather, however, is that Suo is a huge pain in your ass. The teasing never ends, he always has his eye on you at all times, and –
At first, you think he’s just being nice.
A warm hand on your lower back guiding you through the bustling crowd of the town.
A sweet smile on his face whenever he greets you or catches sight of your familiar head of hair.
A passing remark about how pretty your eyes look that day.
But then –
You notice his hands linger just a bit longer than normal, and they’re starting to gravitate just a little bit lower or just a bit higher, until the resting of his hand on your waist or your hips becomes a new normal.
His smile, you realize, is much more than just sweet. Sometimes, you’ll catch a hint of endearment or amusement, as if he’s in on a joke that you know nothing about.
And the remarks? They progress from just being about your eyes to your hairstyle that day, or your outfit, or your smile, or your laugh.
But it doesn’t just stop there – it seems that, if you’re not working, he’s got to be touching you at all times. Your legs pressed firmly together whenever you sat next to each other. His hands wrapped around your waist when he moves around you. Your arms always touching when you’re standing beside each other.
And any chance he gets, he’s whispering in your ear. It could be anything, from explaining something that gets brought up when you’re with the group, to casually talking about the weather.
But sometimes, with his lips so close to your ear that you can feel the warm puffs of his breath, he’ll lower his voice just the littlest bit, make his words sound the tiniest bit breathless and then –
He pulls away, with that stupid little smile on his face and mirth in his eyes.
Everytime, everytime he does it, you’re left flustered and alone, with a hand held up to your ear as if to hold on just a little bit longer to the sensation, to the feeling of his lips so close to you.
And he never ever calls you your name. In fact, you don’t think you’ve ever heard it leave his lips – at least not when he’s around you.
“Wow bunny, you’re so strong!”
“Bunny, play nice –”
“Oh bunny, you’re here!”
All the “bunny” this and “bunny” that messes with your head. So much so that Suo could say it in a crowded room and you’re already turning your attention to him to see what he wants.
(And if you were to think about it a while longer, you’d realize that no one else uses that affectionate name on you. You’d realize that people have tried, but when they look up, Suo’s already got an eye on them and a tight-lipped smile on his face – and it sends shivers down their spine. Not like you’d recognize that they’re calling you though, your ears only attuned to the way that Suo calls it out.)
Working at the café doesn’t help.
From the moment you clock in to the moment you clock out, you can expect Suo to pop in at least once during your shift – twice if he comes early in the day to have a cup of tea with Sakura and Nirei.
And everytime, everytime you clock out – he’s patiently waiting to walk you home.
It starts on your first day – and you were not prepared for the sight of him, in all his lovely glory, to be standing outside with a smile on his face as you locked up the doors. It was such a shock that you’d dropped the keys in panic, and he quickly bent down to grab them before handing it to you.
When he grabs your hand and gently drops the keys in your palm, you don’t miss the way his thumb caresses yours.
His hands were so damn warm – and soft.
“I – what are you doing here?”
“Is it a crime to escort you home?”
Your lips part in surprise, and you can feel the way your breathing is starting to quicken in response.
“No, uh … it’s not. But –”
He laughs, and you notice that he’s still holding your hand in his.
You don’t make a move to remove it.
“Everyone’s been hanging out with you. I just wanted some time for myself, that’s all.”
His words catch you off guard, and he takes that silence as an invitation to continue.
“Besides – I’m the one who convinced you to stay. Shouldn’t I be able to spend time with you as well?”
You … don’t have a good enough reason to say no.
So, you let it happen.
During the walk, you talk about all the mundane things, from how your day went to what you had for lunch.
And, if your shoulders occasionally bump into one another or your fingers accidentally brush, well –
Neither of you mention it.
When you finally make it to your apartment, he follows you right up to the door. You feel his looming presence behind you, and the warmth emanating from his body, and it takes everything in your power not to drop your keys again.
And, once your door finally unlocks, you feel a shift behind you.
Suddenly, his hands are on either side of the doorframe, caging you in, and your back is pressed flush against his chest.
And goodness did his chest feel strong.
He’s so so close that you can hear his lips part and his soft inhale as he whispers coyly into your ear, “Sweet dreams, bunny.”
Before you can react, he’s already taken a step back with his hand waving goodbye and an innocent smile on his face.
You think about it for the rest of the night.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
It goes on like this for months, and you’re not sure what sick and twisted game he’s playing at, but he never explains his behavior, never confesses his feelings, never addresses the elephant in the room.
And you – well, you’re not sure how to even bring it up.
It’s not that you’re mad about it (quite the opposite), but every touch, every whisper, every smile leaves you wanting more.
But you weren’t sure if you could handle more. Not if it was going to be like this. Your poor heart wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Suo had started a craving that you weren’t sure could ever be satisfied, but no matter how much you tried to ward him off, he remained persistent and stubborn.
“You really don’t have to do this, Suo — though I appreciate the gesture,” you remark, your head tilted up to gauge his reaction as he walks in stride with you.
“But I enjoy doing it, so what’s the issue?”
“The issue, Suo, is that I’m perfectly capable of walking home alone. Shouldn’t you be – oh, I don’t know – spending your time with people who might actually need help?”
He takes a moment to think about this – at least, he acts like he does. But, you know better. You’re starting to be able to differentiate when he’s being sarcastic and when he’s not, and right now, as he brings his finger up to tap “thoughtfully” on his chin, you can’t help but feel the urge to humble him just the tiniest bit.
So you do.
“If I could describe you in one word, Suo, I’d say that you’re –”
“Intelligent? Patient? Cheeky?”
“Insufferable.”
He laughs lightly at your words as if you hadn’t just offended him, before gazing down at you with a look that screams mischief and something else that you can’t quite place yet.
And, with an air of casualty, as if you’d both just been talking about the different blends of tea, he responds with –
“If you find me insufferable now, I can’t imagine how you would describe me as your lover.”
…
You come to a stop, your eyes blinking rapidly as you try to take in what he’s said but he cuts off your train of thought.
“Looks like you’re home now, my little bunny. This was pleasant, as always.”
Looking around, you deflate at the fact that he was right, youd stopped right in front of your door, but you needed answers – now.
You go to open your mouth, but he’s quicker – “Oh, sorry, but I really can’t stay and chat. I’ve got to, oh, I don’t know, see if anyone needs my assistance.”
That … shut you up real quick.
You hated when he made you eat your words.
Biting back your tongue, all you can do is huff as you make your way inside, his eye burning a hole into the back of your head – and, if you weren’t so deep in distress, you’d hear the soft twinkle of satisfied laughter in his wake as he walks down the street.
God, he really was insufferable.
—
That night, you sit up with a sudden realization as it hits you.
You knew that look.
That was the look that he gave his opponents –
The one that would dare them to fight him, to challenge him, to provoke him.
He was challenging you, daring you, provoking you.
He wanted to see if you’d break first.
He wanted to see if you’d give in.
You laugh so hard that your eyes start to water – and it’s full of disbelief and shock and amusement.
Like hell you’d let that happen.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
You are your brother’s sister, and his stubbornness and competitive streak had been passed down to you tenfold.
So, you catch up to Suo’s speed – fast.
Now you were the one initiating contact, touching him, teasing him.
Whenever he walked you home, you made sure to hold onto his arm, running your fingers up and down his bicep as you conversed.
And, you don’t just let go.
No. You were better than that.
Instead, you’d run your hand down his whole arm as you separated, until you got to his hand – then, you’d hold onto that until all that was left was the tip of his pointer finger.
You’d give it a gentle squeeze, thanking him for walking you home, before letting it drop from your grasp.
You don’t miss the way his eyes follow the path of your hand every time, as if entranced by the feeling and the sight.
Anytime he came into the café with Sakura and Nirei, you’d make sure to briefly touch his shoulder whenever you passed him, or hold onto his hand just a beat longer when handing him his tea.
(And, without fail, Sakura and Nirei erupt in striking hues of red and pink everytime. Though, Suo and you don’t pay them much attention. Kotoha will give you a knowing look, but you feign ignorance.)
You were no stranger to sugar coated words, either – so, you make it a goal to compliment him at least once every time you see him.
And, of course, you give him a nickname too. You take your time when you think of it because you really want it to stick – you really want it to have the same effect on him as it has on you.
So, you start calling him by his first name – and it works.
“Hayato, you smell so good today.”
“Oh my Hayato, aren’t you looking handsome~”
“Ah, I missed you, Hayato.”
And, the first time you whisper in his ear, light and airy and sweet, you feel dejected when it doesn’t have the same effect on him as it has on you. You’re brought back to the night that he had confronted you, and you’re honestly a bit sad that it seems things haven’t changed.
You begin to pull away, but something catches your eye. So slight and so small that you wouldn’t have noticed it if you weren’t so close. It’s the way his jaw tightens, the way he presses his lips together hard and restrained, the way that he clenches his fists until the whites of his knuckles peek out under the heated skin. And, you hear it – that sharp intake of breath.
His reaction makes you sway just the tiniest bit – and you want to see more. You want to see him flustered and flushed and desperate in the same way he’s made you.
You wanted him to lose his composure.
But – you and Suo keep it cute and casual and friendly.
Simply waiting for the other to break first.
If anyone is brave enough to bring it up, well –
You both shake your heads in denial, a quick “no” rolling off the tips of your tongues.
(They’ll simply nod at your responses, but their eyes stay glued to the spot under the table where Suo’s got his hand splayed out on your thigh and the arm you’ve got wrapped around his to keep him there.)
… Who knew a friendly competitive sparring match amongst Bofurin would be his downfall?

Painted Smile
Painted Smile XXII
<- Previous Chapter I Next Chapter ->
Summary: You couldn't wait to meet new friends. What you didn't expect was this smiling little boy, only one year older than you, that would take such a big place in your life.
Notes: Well, folks. It took us 22 chapters, but here it is. I was strangely emotional during this chapter, would you feel the same? I wonder... Please, tell me your thoughts!
You looked around you, curiously. You were in Alastor’s basement, sitting on a chair as he was preparing to invoke the last spirit he needed to bound your soul together. From what he told you, he just needed to talk with the spirit to finally know what was needed.
This week has been hectic so far. you had to prepare the wedding, writing the invitations once you had found the place where it would happen. You were looking for a cake, Alastor would like, and also other sweets for the guests. Alastor also had his own schedules, he was busy with work and the organization of your wedding with the mayor. You didn’t even manage to see each other that much, but Alastor would always try to come at night, even if you were asleep, so he could rest with you, two or three hours before leaving.
Which brings you to where you were right now. Alastor placed a cup of black coffee on a table with a cigar and wrote symbols with chalk on the walls. You bit your lips, you never saw another spirit than Papa Legba, would you be able to see this one?
“ Are you nervous?” Alastor asked, walking toward you. You tilted your head backward so he could kiss your lips multiple times. You hummed against his lips, stroking his cheeks with your hands.
“ A little. I’ve never seen another spirit… And this one, is supposed to be the one who controls death… This is a little scary.” You pecked his lips as he chuckled.
“ You don’t have to be there.”
“ I want to.” you smiled at him. “ Can you just… Explain to me who you are going to meet.”
“ Of course, dearest. Baron Samedi is invoked to contact and communicate with the dead, he determines whether they can come visit or not. He may be asked to remove bothersome ghosts and invoked to ward off death. He is a powerful healer. Baron Samedi rules the cemetery: no one can die until he gives permission for their grave to be dug.” He stroked your cheeks, staring at your eyes. “ I don’t know if you are going to be able to see him… “
You squeezed his hands with a confident smile.
“ Do everything so nothing could tear us apart.”
He kissed you deeply before walking in front of the table with the offerings. You bit your nails as Alastor began to talk. Everything was going to go smoothly. You didn’t know if the spirit could curse you because you were too greedy about each other.
You blinked when you felt yourself becoming dizzy. You tried to stare at Alastor as you saw him stumble. He was holding his head which immediately made you worry. You stood up and walked clumsily toward him.
“ Alastor…”
“ Are you okay, dearest?” You felt his hand grab yours.
“ Aren’t you adorable ?”
You both turned around toward the table where a man was smoking the cigar that Alastor had put on the table, a moment ago, staring at you with an amused smile. The genlteman looked like an older, dark-skinned man in formal attire, dressed completely in black. He was wearing a black top hat, black suit and impenetrable black sunglasses which were missing a lens.
“ You asked for me?” he smirked before sitting on a chair, taking the cup of coffee. “ Well, I already know why. It’s not everyday I see Papa Legba and Kalfu in the same room. How are you doing, my good fellows?”
You blinked before looking behind you and saw Papa Legba, smoking his pipe while staring at you, with his usual warm expression. His back was against the wall, seeming completely calm.
“ It is nice to see you again, little lady.” he nodded toward you which made you wave shyly at him. “ And it is nice to finally meet you, Alastor.”
You looked at Alastor who was staring at Papa Legba, his eyes wide opened. You didn’t know what he was feeling right now and that was stressing you out. You squeezed his hand in your but freezed when you felt a cold presence next to you.
“ Must be nice to finally meet me, right, little missy?”
You turned your eyes toward the voice and yelped when you saw a man crouching next to you, his red eyes staring at you with a mocking smile. He looked like Papa Legba but his frame seemed more muscular and his expressions weren’t welcoming like the spirit you were now used to working with.
You felt so…little.
“ Well, it’s nice to finally meet all of you, gentlemen.” You heard Alastor talk with his usual confidence. “ I didn’t expect to have all of you with us today, but it might be for the best.” He beamed at the spirits as he took a chair to sit down.
“ You truly have beautiful eyes.” you turned around as you felt your hair being touched. You looked at The Baron Samedi who was looking at you, still seeming amused. You took a step back before being tugged on Alastor’s laps. You looked down and smiled softly at his shadow which was frowning, keeping its hand around your waist.
“ You really didn’t change, Alastor !” Baron Samedi laughed before sitting on the table, smoking his cigar. “ I used to heal you when you were unconscious after your father was done punishing you, your Mother was always asking for my help, what a caring woman.”
You felt Alastor tensed underneath you. You stroked his hand while staring at the three spirits in front of you. You were lost for words, you didn't know which question to ask.
“ Well, it’s not for being healed that I called you.”
“ ‘I’ ? Boy, you didn't call me all alone. Your darling is also in it.”
“ Nonsense. She didn’t prepare anything to summon you.” Said Alastor, his smile twitching. You knew he didn’t like when you were with him and he didn’t have full control on the situation. But you were confused.
“ Why? Am I connected to Alastor in some way?”
“ Well, little lady, of course. If not, why would you be able to see me, summon me or even work with spirits?” Papa Legba asked you with his usual calming voice.
“ Alastor already created some kind of bond between the two of you, but you already saw it, right little missy?” Kalfu smirked at you, making you shiver. He looked dangerous.
“ What are you talking about?” You asked, squeezing Alastor’s hand.
“ When you asked for your soul to leave your body to see Alastor. Didn’t you see a red thread linking you to him?”
Your eyes widened. Was that the bond? But you and Alastor didn’t make the ritual. You just thought it was guiding you toward your fiancée, nothing more. You could feel Alastor’s stare on you, stroking your thigh, surely trying to calm you.
“ But… It was so.. weak?”
“ Of course!” Laughed Baron Samedi. “ Alastor bound you the first time he tried to summon our dear Papa Legba, he had a tissue with your blood on it. Blood is really important here. That’s why when Alastor summoned Legba, he went toward you because the first thing he felt was your blood.”
“ And then, I came in, because I wanted to work with Alastor. This boy has a lot of potential.” Kalfu smirked. “ It’s in his blood.”
You looked at Alastor who was still smiling but you could see conflict in his eyes.
“ Then, how did the bound apparead when I didn’t do anything to make it happen?” Asked Alastor, looking at the spirits.
“ Well, like Kalfu told you, you have huge potential. You could have created the bond, you already had summoned me and him. You made the first step but stopped when you made a deal with Kalfu for power. That is why, right now, your bond is half-made.” Legba said, inhaling smoke from his pipe. “ But now, your other half is working with me, which makes you, in a twisted way, work with me.”
“ But you told me you would cut our deal if I were to work with..Kalfu?” you asked, feeling more confused as time was passing. “ Alastor is working with him, and yet..?”
“ Of course, little lady. Even if your control on your spirit is impressive, it’s not in your blood. You can do all that because Alastor ‘tainted’ it. If he were at his most powerful, and your bond were created, you would have maybe half of his abilities. Your body wouldn’t be able to take more.” He said to you with a sad smile. “ You would lose yourself to the spirits and end up mad.”
“ Or dead with me!” said Baron Samedi with a laugh which echoed in the basement. “ I’m joking, Alastor.” he smirked when he saw Alastor’s hand clenching on your waist.
You looked at your hands, your spirit was already giving much more than needed to protect yourself and Alastor. You just needed another thing… You looked up to Baron Samedi who whistled.
“ Ooh, red eyes? Sexy~ Tell me.”
“ You said you had the power to heal, right?” You waited for him to nod. “ I want it.”
You heard Kalfu laugh like a madman while Baron Samedi was looking at you, up and down, thinking about your demands. He asked you why, in a more serious tone.
“ I asked Papa Legba to have power so I could protect Alastor, I don’t need anything more. I can protect him but I know I’m going to fail him one day, I need to be able to help him more if he happens to be injured.” You said, you voice firm.
“ So, you would want to work with me, for my healing capacity? You know, it’s different from working with Legba? You are asking a skill of mine. Papa Legba just gives access to a spirit to work with you, the spirit chooses when to go back, if Legba allows it, unless you ask him to leave. You’re asking for a power that belongs to no small spirits, the price will hurts.”
“ Then, she doesn’t need it.” said Alastor, forcing you to look at him. “ I won’t need this power, who could hurt me?” He asked you with his usual charming and confident smile.
“ Please… Having this would put my mind at ease…” You sighed before standing up, looking at Baron Samedi who seemed in deep thought. You could feel Alastor’s shadow rooting you in place. You looked at Papa Legba for advice. “ What are your thoughts?”
“ I think it might be a great idea. “
Your eyes widened, you didn’t expect that and it seemed like Alastor and Baron Samedi were as surprised as you.
“ Her deal with me is to protect Alastor, if she keeps this power for Alastor’s use, I would allow it.” He nodded. “ It doesn’t break any rules.”
“ Then, she needs to be able to heal herself too. You told me I would be able to use her abilities but it seemed like it’s not going to happen any time soon. So I need her to be able to heal herself in case anything were to happen.”
“ When you will be powerful enough, trust me, Legba’s protégée won’t be able to do anything against you. You could just use the shadow to bring her to you.” Kalfu smirked, staring at Legba with a competitive glint in his eyes.
You stared at Alastor who looked at you with an obsessive glint in his eyes. You bit your lips, being at Alastor’s mercy was… exciting. But you wouldn’t go down without a fight.
“ So, I’m sharing my healing power with our little doll?” asked Baron Samedi with a smirk. “ Well, why not, I can’t wait to work with you. You shall be able to heal yourself and Alastor.” he stretched his hand toward you.
You looked at his hand. That was pure madness.
You shook his hand, staring at him.
You felt power invade you, swirling around you, making your hair move in the air. You could feel the energy going from your hands towards your eyes, it was a strange sensation. You were used to Legba’s warmth when you were calling him but right now, you could feel only coldness in your veins and your eyes.
You opened your eyes and looked at Baron Samedi who was grinning, holding a mirror in front of you.
“ A pleasure to work with you, doll.”
You looked at your red eyes which had now a purple hue inside them. You looked at Alastor who immediately took your face in his hands, staring at you. He frowned, keeping his smile, before wiping blood from your nose. You smiled at him to reassure him, you were feeling surprisingly great, exhausted but good.
“ Beautiful.”
You grinned at him, feeling your cheeks warm as he looked at you with so many emotions.
“ Well, before leaving. Should we talk about the rituals?”
You sat on the chair and looked at the four men talking, you couldn’t hear anything. You were so tired… You should close your eyes for a minute, it should be enough. You couldn’t believe it, you were now someone who could heal… You wondered what kind of injuries, you should ask them…
“ Darling, open your eyes.”
You opened your eyes and smiled at Alastor before looking around, confused when you saw the empty basement. The only thing that remained from the spirits was the smell of tobacco. You looked at Alastor.
“ Did I fall asleep?”
“ I’m afraid you did, dearest.” He kissed your forehead with a soft gaze. “ We should sleep.”
You looked at his face, he seemed exhausted too. You nodded and stood up, walking out of the basement, walking toward his bedroom. You took Eamon in your arms, signing in bliss. After all those years, your plushie was still there.
“ Undress, dear.”
You whined but undressed quickly, throwing your dress on his chair with the rest of your clothes. You bury yourself under the cover, trying to stay awake until you felt Alastor’s warmth against your back.
“ Is everything ready for the ritual..?” you asked, yawning.
“ Yes, you don’t have to do anything.” He kissed your naked shoulder. “ You just have to think about the wedding.”
You nodded before falling asleep in your fiancée’s arms.
—------
“ I’m doing her makeup, back off woman, back off!”
You laughed as Alice kicked off the woman who was supposed to do your makeup. You were in front of a big mirror in your wedding dress.
Today was the day you were to be wed to Alastor.
You looked as Alice came toward you to do your makeup and your hair. She had a big smile on her lips, her sapphire eyes shining with pure joy. You were touched that she was this happy for you.
“ I think we should do your hair up,showing off your neck and shoulders. You don’t have any hickeys, right?” She mocked you.
You rolled your eyes, chuckling. Of course not, you and Alastor haven’t seen each other for three days straight. You have told him that the groom wasn’t supposed to see the bride before the wedding or bad luck would be cast upon the married couple. He did laugh at you but you were now working with spirits so you didn’t want any chance with karma!
However, Alastor did send his shadow toward you sometimes or he would stay under your window and you would both talk without looking at each other. He did try to tempt you into giving up this silly traduction and just join him, but for once, you didn’t fall for his sweet words even if it was difficult. Alastor had his way with words after all, resisting him was very hard, and you did miss him.
“ You are going to look amazingly beautiful. You are going to take their breath away.”
Alice had a cute pink dress with pink and blue makeup, she looked beautiful. You knew Alyzée would just melt at her sight.
After a little while you opened your eyes and gasped as you saw yourself in the mirror. You didn’t think you ever felt this beautiful. Alice really had a way to show people’s best traits. You stood up and turned around when you heard the door open and smiled when you saw your mother and father.
“ Oh, my little girl…” Your father walked toward you and hugged you gently. You were feeling so emotional but you couldn’t cry, you didn’t have the time to redo it again! “ Yesterday you were still calling me your prince charming.”
You laughed, hugging your mother who already had tears in her eyes.
“ Oh, sweetie. You look beautiful. Bravo, Alice. She looks even more breathtaking than usual.”
“ I didn’t have to do much, really.” She waved her hand , smirking at you.
You rolled your eyes at her, smiling widely.
“ Is it time yet?”
“ Can I have just one moment with you before we leave for the aisle?” asked your father, taking your hands in his. You nodded, looking at your mother and Alice leaving you alone. “ I talked with Alastor.”
“ You tried to scare him?” you chuckled which made him laugh.
“ No, no. I made him make a promise. If he ever, which I don’t think is possible but, if he ever happened to lose feeling for you, I asked him to brough you back home. He doesn't need to hurt you because he lost feelings, I just asked him to take you home. You will always be my little girl, at your lowest I will be proud of you, at your best I will also be proud. Never doubt that you will always be welcome home as long as we are alive.”
You tried so hard not to cry. You were this close to tell him everything, about the murders and everything but you held your tongue. You hugged your father tightly, those words smooth something inside you, you didn't even know needed to be appeased.
“ I love you Dad.”
“ I love you too.” he kissed your forehead, wiping his tears. “ Ready for your future ?” he smiled at you.
You nodded, taking the bouquet before holding onto your father’s arm. You walked down the stairs, trying to calm your breathing. Your father put your veil in front of your face. You found that ironic. Everyone would see you with this mask on and the only one who was going to accept your twisted self was the one who was going to take the veil to truly see you.
Your father opened two big doors in front of you as the music started playing. You began to walk down the aisle, looking at the people around you. You smiled as you saw your mother wiping her eyes while Alice was almost sobbing on Alyzée’s shoulder. You watched as Mimzy gave you a thumbs up which made you chuckle.
And then you saw him.
Alastor was standing properly, his arms behind his back, his hair slicked back like you loved it. You couldn’t see much because of the veil but you thought you saw a curly lock on his forehead.
Your father stopped next to Alastor, giving you to him.
You slid your hand into Alastor’s, shivering as you finally felt his touch after three days away from him. You saw his hand twitched before reaching for your veil, before lifting it so he could see you. You smiled warmly at him as you saw his eyes widened as he saw your face.
“ Who blessed me with you, I wonder…”
You didn’t want to cry right now. You were just feeling emotional, that was it!
You turned toward Alyzée’s father who began his speech. You weren’t really listening to his words, all of your attention was on Alastor’s hand who was stroking your hands. You didn’t notice but it was time to tell your vows. You turned toward Alastor, your eyes already wet from tears you refused to shed.
Alastor was staring at you with a soft smile and a fond gaze. He chuckled when he saw your face.
“ I shall begin. We all know she is the most emotional between the two of us.” he smirked when the crowd laughed fondly. “ Dearest…”
You sniffed. There it was.
“ I don’t think I can recall a day where you weren’t at my side. Your voice is the best melody I can remember, your touch healed much more than any doctors could have achieved. You are the first who showed me genuine emotions, you never hide yourself from me and the most important… I never felt the need to hide myself from you.”
You felt your lips wobble.
“ You waited, dearest, you waited for me to open myself to you, which is admirable in a lot of ways. But what was more important for me is that you didn't run away. You accepted me.” he kissed the back of your hand, keeping his eyes on yours. “ You decided to put your trust in me even though what we share isn’t what you used to believe in, right?” he chucked as you nodded with a shaky laugh. “ What I’m willing to give you is much more than what you have ever read, ever seen, ever experimented with. Death itself couldn’t tear us apart, I swear it , my love.”
You sobbed, your head bowing as you heard the new nickname. You tried to find something to wipe your tears and thanked Alice when she gave you a tissue. You looked at her and laughed a little when you saw she was sobbing just like you.
You tried to wipe the tears without running the makeup. You looked at Alastor who stared at you, caressing your cheek.
“ I shall love you in the way you accepted. In sickness, in health, poor, rich, I do not care. As long as you are by my side, this life is worth living.”
You smiled at him, tears gathering once more in your eyes. You saw Marie crying as everyone was clapping after Alastor’s speech. You bit your lips before taking a deep breath.
“ Alastor.” you smiled at him. “ I always thought I would have to learn how to love, that is one of the reasons I began to read romance books. And yet, I don’t think I ever question what was happening between us. I did wonder what it was called, but I didn’t have to learn to love you.” You shakily took a deep breath as you saw Alastor beamed at your words. “ It was just like breathing, it was natural.”
You squeezed his hands.
“ Being by your side is just like an evidence. Every choice I made until today, I don’t regret any of them. My heart, my mind, my soul is yours. Hell or Heaven, I know that if we are together, no obstacles could bring us down. “ You felt tears in your eyes once more, your voice trembling. “ I love you so much, it might cost me my sanity, my love.”
You gasped as Alastor tugged you against him, caging you in his arms and squeezing you. You heard the crowd clapped as you hugged him as tight as you could. You took a step back after a moment, wiping your tears without running your makeup. You looked at the mayor who asked for the rings. You smiled when you saw your cousin’s child bring them with a happy grin.
You took the ring as Alastor did the same before sliding it on your finger. You did the same before taking his hands with yours.
“ Alastor Sanglar do you take as your wife, Miss-”
“ I do.”
You chuckled as the crowd laughed. Alastor smiled at you, his eyes shining with so much emotion that were just for you. You felt like you could faint from happiness.
“ Well, someone is eager!” the mayor laughed before looking at you. “ Do you take Alastor Sanglar as your husband?”
“ I do.”
“ I declare you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride.”
You smiled as Alastor tugged you toward him, kissing you like tomorrow wouldn’t exist. You felt tears on your cheeks once more as you held his face between your hands. You broke the kiss, staying near him as the crowd was shouting and clapping.
“ I love you, Alastor.. I love you, I love you..” you whispered against his lips.
“ I love you, dearest, in a way that no human would dare to love.” he whispered back, making you kiss him one more time.
You turned toward the crowd with a big smile. You looked at Alice who was clapping like her death was depending on it. Alyzée gave you a shy smile while Mimzy was winking at you, still giving you a thumb up.
You walked out of the town hall, holding on to your husband’s arms. You stayed on the stairs as journalists took pictures of you and Alastor. You laughed when the women were asking you to throw the bouquet. You turned your back to the crowd, closed your eyes and threw it.
“ Oh my gosh!”
You turned around and screamed in glee when you saw Alice with the bouquet. She walked toward you and hugged you, sniffing.
“ I’m so happy for you, sweetie.” she said.
You hugged her tighter before looking at the car, stopping in front of you. Alastor took your hand and guided you toward the vehicle before opening the door for you. The reception was going to happen in one of Alice’s father’s hotels, so you needed a car to go there but…
“ Is it our car..?”
“ A gift from Alyzée’s father.” he winked at you before you entered the car, Alastor closing the door behind you. He settled behind the wheel and began to drive until your destination.
“ I feel like I’m dreaming…” you sighed in bliss.
“ I don’t think I ever felt this… happy.” you looked at Alastor who almost seemed confused. “ Even killing my father didn’t bring me this much joy. You really are something, my love.” he smirked as he parked in the hotel’s parking lot.
Once everyone has arrived you all went into the banquet hall. You looked at all the tables and the band that was on stage, preparing themselves. You sat next to Alastor as Alice walked toward you with a piece of paper.
She did a speech, an emotional sarcastic speech. You almost cried when she was talking about your friendship with her and how lucky she was to have you in her life. You did cry though when she shed a few tears and once she finished her speech you both fell into each other's arms.
Mimzy also did a speech for Alastor, thanking him for being a friend , a gentleman she could trust.
You almost bawled when Marie walked to do a speech. You felt Alastor’s grip on your hand tightened.
“ Mon bébé… Not everything has been easy, I’m well aware. You always asked me what you could do to make me smile, to make me happy.Well, mon coeur, by being happy, you make me the happiest mother on earth. Je t’aime, quoi qu’il puisse arriver, tu seras toujours mon fils que j’aime.”
You wiped your eyes but almost sobbed when you saw Alastor’s eyes beginning to have tears. You leaned against him, sniffling. At the end of Marie’s speech, you let his hand go as he stood up and walked toward his mother before hugging her tightly against him.
You clapped with everyone as they stayed in each other's arms for a few minutes. When Alastor came back to you, you kissed his cheek with a soft smile. He gave you a vulnerable smile before taking your hand in his.
You looked as Alice’s father walked toward you.
“ Well, I do not know Alastor, but I know a woman who has always been by my daughter's side. No matter what was going on, she would take my daughter’s side. As a thank you, for being yourself, Mr and Mrs Sanglar, please accept as a wedding gift the house we wanted to sell.”
You almost fell from your chair as gasps could be heard around the room. Your eyes were wide open, you looked at Alice who seemed as shocked as you.
“ This is too much..!”
“ Please, it’s really a pleasure to give you such a gift.”
You looked at Alastor who seemed surprised too. He composed himself quicker than you and thanked the man, shaking his hand with a firm grip.
“ Well, now, we shall see the married one dance! Band, some music, please!”
Alastor guided you toward the dancefloor as a soft song began to be played. You danced with Alastor, never breaking eye contact with him. He was moving you against him until he made a gesture to the band who began to change the music, they were now playing jazz.
You smiled widely at Alastor as you both began to dance, twirling, being lifted in the air, under everyone’s eyes. No one could detach their gaze from your.
After a while, couples began to come dancing, you smiled when you saw Marie walking toward Alastor who gently took his mother for a slow dance. You danced with your father, his eyes still full of emotions.
You danced with Alice, with Alyzée, with Marie, with Victor, with Alastor. You danced until it was dark outside.
After a while you decided to take a break. You held your dress and left the party. You left the hotel, looking at the sky. You could already feel Alastor’s shadow behind you.
“ Mom, look, a princess !” You looked at a child who was pointing toward you.
“ No, she is a bride, my sweet.” she waved at you before leaving as you waved at the child.
You smiled as you closed your eyes, savoring the fresh air.
“ You look beautiful.”
You opened your eyes slowly and looked at John who was next to you. You didn't feel any anger, today was an amazing day that no one could ruin, spirits or humans.
“ Thank you.”
“ I…I’m here on behalf of my parents. Even if our friendship is no longer… They still wanted to congratulate you for your wedding, here.” he gave you a letter which you took. “ I’m not going to ruin your day so.. Goodbye.”
“ Are you going to finally leave Alastor and me alone?” you whispered but you knew he heard it because he froze.
“ … Goodnight Mrs. Sanglar.”
You watched him leave before going back to your wedding party. You smiled when you saw Alastor with a glass of whiskey , chatting with people. He looked at you as you entered the room, asking with his eyes if you were okay. You nodded before walking toward Alice who was drinking wine.
“ There she is ! Come on, girl ! You have your own home! Your own car! Your own husband!” she exclaimed while giving you a glass you quickly drank. You smiled at her.
“ I’m so happy I could faint.”
“ Please, don’t.”
You drank with Alice and Alyzée, even your mother and Marie joined you. After a moment, Alice and you went to the balcony so you two could speak. You weren’t sober anymore so you both were walking with difficulty which made you both laugh.
“ So~ Can’t wait for the honeymoon~?”
“ I don’t even know how I managed to not jump on him.” you giggled drunkenly with Alice.
“ Who are we talking about?”
You smiled as you turned around and saw a smiling Alastor.
“ We are talking about my husband.”
“ What a lucky fella! May I know what he looks like?” he smiled as Alice winked at you before leaving.
“ He looks… like sin.” you whispered as you stared at him. “ You shouldn’t be this close to me, you don’t want to meet his wrath.”
“ I’ll try my luck.” He kissed you, making you feel lighthearted. You grabbed his shoulder as you moaned his name. “ You’re finally my wife.” He looked at your ring.
“ You’re finally my husband.” you kissed his lips one more time as you both stared at each other with so much passion, tenderness, obsession, lust and love, it would almost make you faint.
“ I love you.”

Gojo x gn!reader
Warnings: none
Thank god that’s over.
You grabbed your bag and basically ran out of the classroom as fast as your legs could take you, not wanting to spend another second thinking about that dreaded class you just attended. Between all of the projects and homework you’d been assigned, finding time to do practically anything outside of that class was near impossible. Not to mention, the subject was definitely not an easy one to learn.
Safe to say, you desperately needed a break.
Your annoyance continued to grow as you felt your cellphone ring incessantly from inside your bag. You didn’t even bother checking the caller ID before clicking the small green phone icon.
“Yes?” you answered with an aggressive tone, wondering who needed to contact you so urgently that they were calling every five seconds.
“How’s my favorite student doing?” came a cheerful response from the other end, clearly unbothered by your irritation.
“Oh! It’s you, Satoru,” you breathed out, your mood already starting to lift at the sound of your boyfriend’s voice. “I’ve been better. This class is exhausting me.”
“I can tell with the way you were ready to jump through the phone and murder me,” he said, making you laugh for the first time all day.
“Yeah, sorry about that. Everything gets on my nerves easily after sitting through those lectures.”
“I have just the thing to make you feel better,” he told you. “Come over to my apartment as soon as you can and I’ll meet you there.”
“Are you sure? I know you’re busy teaching today.”
“Eh, I’ll let the kids out early. Give ‘em a group project to work on, I know how much you scholarly types love those.”
“You’re evil, but I’m grateful you would burden your loving pupils with something like that for me.”
“Anything for you, y/n,” said Gojo. “See you soon, okay?”
“Okay,” you nodded, hanging up and letting out a long sigh of relief. On your way over to Gojo’s place, you decided to surprise him with something sweet to show your appreciation for him. You stopped by your favorite bakery and ordered a few of their pastries, making sure to get plenty of the super sweet ones for Satoru. Satisfied with the results of your shopping, you made your way to Gojo’s with an extra pep in your step that definitely wasn’t present earlier.
You rang the doorbell to Gojo’s apartment, brimming with excitement. Yours and Gojo’s schedules had been hectic lately and finally being able to spend time with him was making you giddy. When the door opened, you were surprised by the appearance of his bright blue eyes that met your own.
“No blindfold today?” you questioned, stepping inside as he closed the door behind you.
“I wanted to see you with all of my eyes,” he said, a lazy grin on his face as you leaned in and gave him a gentle kiss.
“Have you always been such a hopeless romantic or is it because we’ve been apart for too long that it’s messing with your head?” you teased, placing the pastry box on his kitchen counter.
“It’s been too long since you’ve been here, I’ve missed you,” he declared. You would’ve found the sentiment to be swoon worthy if he was actually talking to you instead of the pastries.
“Should I leave and give you two some alone time?”
“No, don’t leave, I was joking,” Gojo whined, powdered sugar from the desserts covering his lips. You couldn’t help the laugh that slipped through, filling his apartment with the sound of your joy. Gojo’s eyes softened as he watched your face crinkle in delight; he had missed this lighthearted side of you. Your happiness had been affected by bad days and hard classes for much too long and it bothered him that there was nothing he could do to help you. However, he would never stop trying to keep a smile on your face, even if only for an afternoon.
“So what was it that you had for me?” you questioned, referring to what he said during your phone call.
“Right! Are you ready? Close your eyes,” he said, and you did so. “Okay. Open!”
You opened your eyes and saw… him standing in the exact same spot with the exact large smile he had before you closed your eyes.
“It’s me!” he said excitedly. You were confused for a split second until you realized what he said.
“You’re all I could ever hope for,” you said earnestly, throwing yourself into his tall frame and wrapping your arms tightly around him. Gojo was taken aback by your sudden movement but he wasn’t anything less than ecstatic; he was just happy you weren’t frustrated with his lack of an actual surprise.
“C’mon, let’s go comfortable.”
Gojo felt you pull away from him and he knelt down. “Hop on.”
You looked at him with a cocked eyebrow.
“For a piggy back ride! It’ll be fun!” he said, trying to convince you.
“I will literally hit my head on the ceiling if I hop on your back.”
He brought his lips into a pout. “I promise I’ll duck as low as I can.”
“Fine. But if you knock me out on one of the doorframes, please let me sleep because I need the rest.”
He gave you a thumbs up. “Will do!”
You rolled your eyes playfully and climbed onto his back. The journey to his bedroom was short lived but plenty of fun, just as he said it would be, and little by little your stress was melting away. You landed on the bed from Gojo’s back with a soft thud and you eagerly began to snuggle in the warm sheets. Gojo climbed in the bed as well and pulled you in close to him, your head resting perfectly under his chin as he pressed his chest against your back. The steady rhythm of his heart was having a calming effect on you and you relished in the peaceful atmosphere.
“You wanna talk about everything that’s bothering you?” he wondered, sounding surprisingly serious for once. “It’s not good to hold it in.”
You agreed and began to vent all of your pent up frustrations about your difficult class and life in general. The whole time, Gojo was intently listening and the feeling of his chest vibrating with every “hm” and “mhm” of acknowledgement was helping you stay grounded and not become overwhelmed by your emotions. When you said things he found particularly sad, his hold on you became subconsciously tighter.
“I’m sorry you’re dealing with all of that,” he murmured when you were done talking, pressing a kiss onto the top of your head. “I hate seeing you having to go through difficult things and knowing I can’t stop any of them.”
You turned around to face Gojo, taking hold of his hands in yours. “It’s the same feeling I have toward you, Satoru. You go through impossible situations and I feel bad that I can only offer advice instead of actively doing something about it.”
Silence permeated the air for a little bit as you two got lost in thought.
“We make quite the pair, don’t we?” Gojo eventually said.
“We do.” You brought a hand up and lovingly ran it through his fluffy white hair. “Thank you for inviting me over. This is exactly what I needed to feel better.”
“I could get your professor fired if you want. That might make you feel even better.”
You immediately halted. “What? No, please don’t do that.”
He shrugged. “Why not? Throw enough money at a school and even their most tenured teacher can disappear by the next week. It doesn’t seem like you’re learning anything anyway.”
You shook your head and chuckled in disbelief. “You’re seriously crazy, Gojo.”
“Just crazy in love,” he replied, cheekily winking at you.
“You’re talking to me this time, right? There’s not a pastry box behind me?”
“I’m never gonna be able to live that down, am I?” he groaned.
“Nope,” you said, cuddling into his body once more, “but you’re lucky because I’m crazy in love with you too.”

The week felt like it took forever to be over, exams, loads of homework, part-time job, all that hectic stuff. But this weekend you get to-well you’re not really sure exactly what Sukuna has in store for you but whatever it is you’re excited for it.
You had texted your roommate the day you were over Sukunas apartment that you’d be staying there at least until the weekend was over. You often stayed at Sukunas for long periods of time when you needed a break or just wanted to hang with your best friend. He never really minded you were pretty good company, in your own words, and he was used to spending long periods of time with you. During school, after school, in the summer, whenever your moms wanted to have a girls night, just whenever.
Anyways your roommate was obviously cool with it, she had mentioned she wanted to have “company” over anyways so it all worked out. You took Sukuna’s advice and blocked your ex, you were probably going to do that anyways since the relationship was definitely over, so you have no idea if he’s texted or called. Not that you care though, he’s an ass and he should have enough shame, decency, and brains not to call and understand it’s over.
To be honest you’re at the acceptance stage of grief, it is what it is he wasn’t the one for you, but it still sucks. Sukuna has actually been really helpful, he’s been, for lack of a better word, a great distraction. He won’t tell you what he has planned for tonight though, all he said was to be ready in pajamas. Maybe a movie night?
You guys used to do those every Friday, but then college got too hectic with it being senior year and all. Sukuna said his classes are pretty easy, although you aren’t too surprised on that one he’s always been exceptionally intelligent, he claims it’s because he just decided to major in business since he’s not exactly sure what he wants to do.
He didn’t want to be a chef, even though he’s exceptionally talented in cooking too, but he’s a waiter at a restaurant for his part time job. When he first got that job you visited to see the restaurant, and him, it was a nice little quiet diner. He was annoyed and disgusted about it on the outside but you could tell he was embarrassed about you visiting, mostly because one time there was a couple that sat in the booth behind you and made comments about, “young love.” And every time you would sit in that same booth just to annoy him because you knew he thought about it each time, it was honestly hilarious. You and him? Being a couple? What a joke.
Sukuna texted he was on his way back, he had a lecture that was in the evening that day and he left a little early to start you guys’ weekend plans. Apparently you hadn’t been paying much attention to any calls or messages because you had about 10 missed calls from your friend and a dozen text messages. You immediately called back.
“Hello? Girl! Why have you not picked up, I’ve been calling you for forever.”
“I’m sorry! I was just laying here, and I had on dnd from when I was in classes earlier. I guess I never turned it off,” you replied in an anxious tone.
Mai just sighed before continuing, “anyways your boyfriend-“
“Ex,” you cut her off before she could even begin.
“Your ex-boyfriend,” she corrected herself with irritation, “has been showing up like every other hour asking about you, and I wasn’t paying much attention before but I’m pretty sure his car was outside yesterday for a while. He’s probably waiting on you, has he texted?”
“I don’t know if he’s texted I blocked him. That’s probably why he’s showing up, he thinks I’m home. Just ignore him, and if he continues to knock call the police or something.”
“Why can’t he just leave you alone? It’s clearly over, there’s nothing there anymore.”
“I know, I’m so sorry by the way.”
“You’re fine, enjoy your weekend babes! I just wanted to give you a heads up.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Mhm my company should be over soon, talk to you later, be safe.”
“Kk you too, bye Mai,” and with a small beep, the call ended.
He was coming by every hour? How insane. You hoped he wouldn’t give Mai much trouble, but then again she could handle herself. What if he knew you were at Sukuna’s? Well he didn’t know the address….he’s dropped you off before though. Maybe he doesn’t remember it? Oh no what if he shows up?! And then your whole weekend of distraction will be ruined, and all of Sukuna’s hard work will be-
“-n? Y/n! Hey, Earth to y/n again. Seems like I’m having to do that a lot this week huh?” Sukuna jokes.
“Hm, oh yeah sorry-“ you say lost in your thoughts.
“Uhh you sure? Why’re you all spaced out?”
“It’s nothing-“
“We both know it’s not nothing you might as well tell me, you’re not very good at your poker face I’ll have to teach you sometime,” he says playfully.
“It’s just- he showed up at my apartment. He was looking for me-“
“But you’re not there so what’s the problem?”
“Mai is there, which I’m sure she’s fine he’s not crazy he’s just a whore, but what if he shows up here?”
“Wow never thought I’d hear you slut shame someone, that’s a new low y/n,” he smiles and then continues, “but you don’t have to worry about him showing up here. That is if he knows what’s good for him.”
Oh yeah one small thing, the time your ex dropped you off him and Sukuna did not get along. It was the briefest moment, it felt like when your dad dropped you back off at your moms’ after spending a weekend with him, but it was tense. You could tell, Sukuna’s sharp maroon gaze stayed on him even after you had stepped inside. So, safe to say he’d have to be pretty ballsy to show up here.
“Put on some boots or something we’re going out,” Sukuna says gruffly.
“Going out where? I’m in pajamas-“
“I know, good. I told you to be, glad to know you listen.”
You scoffed, “no way I’m going in public like this-,” you gestured with your hands waving in an up and down movement to your unprofessional getup.
“Relax. You won’t be the only one, I’m about to change too.”
“Oh because two of us looking like we just rolled out of bed is better than one,” you said sarcastically.
“Exactly, I knew you’d get it I had to admit I was getting a little worried there,” he teased.
“Oh shut up dimwit,” you said smiling.
There it was again, stunning.
Sukuna went to quickly throw on some sweats and an old faded t-shirt, probably sporting some random band. He grabbed his keys, and you were out the door.
You loved night time drives, everything just hit different. The music vibed better, especially when Sukuna let you have the aux, the car ride is just more fun at night. When you arrived at the destination Sukuna parked the car and reached to turn the knob on the volume down.
“Look where we are,” he said turning to stare at you.
You immediately turned to look out the window, and even though it took you a second you realized-
With a big shriek and gasp you turned back to Sukuna, “this is-!”
“The ‘best convenience store ever in our hometown’ I know you said it to me so much it’s engraved in my brain.”
Sparkles were in your eyes, along with some unshed tears. So many great memories were here. Every time you passed a test with an A your mom would bring you here to get your favorite snack, and since Sukuna always did well on tests you’d take him about once a month to continue the tradition. But then you guys’ campus was at least a 35 minute commute from here, and when it was busy during the day maybe 45, so you stopped coming. There just wasn’t enough time and you guys got really busy. But not many people were on the road at night, and with Sukuna’s driving you guys probably made it there in 20-25 minutes tops.
You were so happy you could scream. It was apparent in your face, the brightest smile. You jumped out of the car and immediately ran into the store, Sukuna not far too behind you.
You had already grabbed one of the small dark green dingy looking baskets, ah the same as always, from the entrance and were halfway down your favorite aisle by the time he got inside.
He greeted the kind old lady at the register who had witnessed your excitement just moments ago, screeching with joy, which scared her when you rushed in.
He quickly found the aisle you were in and watched you decide which snacks you wanted, carefully picking the items and placing them in the basket.
You rushed from one place to another, grabbing drinks, chips, snacks, anything you wanted because who knows when you’ll visit here again. Then you just stopped, and Sukuna watching your madness didn’t think you were ever going to. Then your eyes started to well up with worry.
“What’s wrong?”
“I- I left my wallet back at your apartment, I can’t buy any of this-“
“What? I’m obviously buying, dimwit,” he scoffed repeating your words from earlier.
“Really?” You asked, the excitement immediately perking back up inside you.
He didn’t even get to answer before you continued happily on your shopping spree, how could he say no anyways? By the time you were done you couldn’t even pick up your basket. You quickly looked to Sukuna for help, and he rolled his eyes taking the basket with his left arm. You began to giggle watching him walk to the register. You couldn’t help it, the sight of him carrying a basket like a soccer mom was just too funny.
A stuffed full basket being carried by his well built arm, the vein bulging from the somewhat strenuous task being carried out. His hand flexing and unflexing to stretch after putting the basket down, making the veins even more visible as they pop out due to his contractions-
“Y/n? You coming? Don’t you wanna get home to eat all this stuff?”
You quickly snapped out of your haze, and ran up to the register where Sukuna had already taken his wallet out to pay, making a comment about how you were most definitely going to eat it in his car. You left a happy customer that day.
Before you left you made Sukuna stop in front of the shop so that you could snap a quick photo of the two of you together, you wanted to send it to your moms.
You smiled the whole car ride home, and when you got in the house.
“Thank you,” you said sincerely with a huge grin on your face.
“Yeah, yeah I know I’m the best,” he replied with a smirk.
“Can you cook the ramen please?”
“Who else was gonna-“
And then the shrill ring of the doorbell rang.
“Are you expecting someone?”
“No, no one comes over here. Maybe it’s just a package.”
“At 10pm?”
“I don’t know, maybe some drunk has the wrong door.”
Then it rang again.
“Okay maybe not…”
“Sukuna just go get the door I’ll start prepping-“
Before you could finish your sentence though, he already opened the door ready to tell off the drunk.
“Oh. It’s you.”
You didn’t like Sukuna’s tone, and being the nosey person you are sometimes, you rushed to the door. You immediately understood his tone.
“Oh, of course it’s you.”

undercut - L.MK
idol!mark lee x reader
wc: ~1.2k
warnings: nothin. kisses. fluff.
A/N: MARK UNDERCUT!!!!!!!!!! I NEEDED TO GET THIS OUT OF MY SYSTEM also ive been extra delulu don't mind me.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
“Can I come over? I’ll ask hyung to drop me off at yours.” I could hear the cars passing by him, louder than I expected the city streets to be at 3 am.
“You don’t have a schedule for tomorrow?” I ask, barely holding the phone between my head and shoulder. For some reason, I thought it’d be a good idea to paint my nails at this hour.
“Also blue or red?” I cut him off before he can answer my previous question. I clink the nail polish bottles in my hands.
“Blue. And nooo, it’s my off day…” And then he’s quiet, I can hear his nerves through the phone.
“You want me to say ‘yes,’ don’t you?” I smirk, hoping he can feel my teasing nature from his end.
He groans, annoyed that I’m making it difficult for him and I bite my lip to stop myself from giggling. He’s such a baby.
“Of course I want my girlfriend to say ‘yes’ to me asking to come over. Are you insane?” I listen to him huff and I can sense the text I’m about to get from Renjun, telling me to get Mark to quit whining.
“So dramatic,” I snicker. I start to pack up the nail polish, already knowing he’ll be here in five minutes regardless of my answer. “You’re on your way, right?”
I’m met with silence and I hesitate putting my clear coat back in the cabinet.
“I’m outside.”
“Of course you are. No respect for my decisions I see.” In contrast to my words, my heart is actually racing. I almost slide across the floor at how fast I run to the buzzer.
“Just open the door,” Mark whines some more and I can hear the buzz from the other side. I hang up the phone and open the door, ready to see his face.
It’s been a week since I’ve last seen him, if you’re not counting the facetime calls at random hours – he’s lucky my job isn’t strict on my phone use. I never know how much I miss Mark Lee until he’s busy with his hectic schedules. It took me awhile to accept and appreciate the nature of our relationship. Mark thanks me whenever he can for putting up with his lifestyle. What he doesn’t know is that I love him so much that I can easily make his lifestyle mine. Even if that means seeing him randomly at 3 am on a Wednesday.
I poke my head out and I see a figure stalk down the hallway, a hoodie hiding his head.
“Psst,” I whisper and his head lifts to find my voice. He speedwalks over and I tug him in, carefully closing my front door.
“You know I know where you live right? Like I won’t get lost,” Mark laughs, leaving no time to pull me in for a hug. I feel my muscles relax into his and I don’t realize how much I needed it. His time. His space. Him.
The more I soften in his embrace, the tighter his arms squeeze. “You’re precious cargo. Gotta make sure my man arrives safely.”
“Your man?” Mark leans back to show me how happy my word choice made him. Even on his tired face, his smile shines brightly. No eye bags can hide the gleam of his brown eyes.
I roll my eyes and slap his chest. “You heard me, weirdo. Stop acting like it’s new news.”
“Ahhh,” He lifts my feet off the ground to nuzzle into me some more. “I can’t help that it sounds so good.”
“You know what else sounds good?” I ask when he puts me down. “A movie sesh.”
I split from his embrace, scurrying to the kitchen to hide the new dust of pink on my cheeks. The effect he has on me never wears off, even after all this time. It’s almost embarrassing.
“Ah, my girl’s a genius,” I hear his feet chase after me to hug me from behind as I grab a pack of popcorn from the cabinets. I can feel his soft breathing on my shoulder and it feels unreal that he’s physically here. I can actually feel his chest rise and fall against my back. I’ve gotten so used to listening to him fall asleep on the phone.
“Your girl?” I mock.
“Shut up.” Mark mutters into my shoulder. I reach back to stroke his hair when I’m met with the fabric of his jacket.
“Why do you still have your hoodie up?” I twist around in his arms to face him and his head swiftly repositions to fall into my chest. I try to push his head back up, but he’s stubborn.
“What are you hiding, Mark Lee?” I flick his head and he exclaims.
“Ow! Why are you so violent?” He finally looks up and I flip his hoodie back before he could protest again.
It’s gone. His hair.
“Your hair.”
Mark looks down at me shyly, biting his lip. I watch him run his hand through his undercut, focusing on the fact that it’s so short his black strands don’t file through his fingers anymore. Or that his ends don’t slightly curl around the nape of his neck. He even has etchings shaved into the sides. I can’t remember if I already knew about this and saw it over facetime or if it’s a new change to his appearance. Maybe it’s been longer than a week since I saw him last. The shock on my face is evident.
He squeezes my hip to bring me back. “You like it?” So it is new.
Mark grabs one of my hands and guides it through his haircut. It almost hurts with how prickly it is, but it’s fun. It’s new. And the way he sighs into my hands makes my chest tighten.
“It’s… it’s kinda hot.” I take both of my hands and run them through, not really missing how easy his hair was to tug before. It’s a new look and I can tell he’s confident in it. I wonder if I could get him to shave my initials next time.
“Yeah?” Mark stands up straighter, a fiery look in his eyes as he watches me admire his cut. My fingertips dance across the hair. I barely miss the way his tongue swipes across his lips.
“Yeah, I love it.” I can’t contain my smile, and he chuckles at my reaction. He tugs my waist in closer before planting a long kiss on my cheek. “I can see your pretty face so much better.”
He groans, letting his head fall into the side of my neck, nipping at my skin instinctively. I snicker at his reaction, letting my fingers massage his scalp.
“You’re killing me,” he says, almost like a whisper. I pull his face in front of me, watching the shy pout form on his lips. I give him a peck and watch him chase my mouth for more.
“Ditto.” I admit, caving into his cry for more kisses.

SCREAM FOR ME ─── NRK
西村力 + 𝑓. reader suggestive, established relationship, comedy, thriller ✉️ : hi so I’ve been convinced to make ghostface riki fic by my 3ki girlies (doin this for yall) @elysianiki + @nshmuras .. also, please don’t take the title out of context bro omg 😭 the ghostface movie is literally called scream .. and special thanks to sia for picking out these photos for me :p — 𝐌𝐒𝐅.
entering you apartment in a hurry, you closed the door and locked it behind you, trying to avoid the cool air from entering your home.
it had been a hectic day at uni with trying to finish up any missing assignments before the semester ended and studying for upcoming tests. the only thing you wanted was to curl up on the couch and watch all the slasher movies you could find.
you wished you could start the weekend with your boyfriend, riki, but he had sent you a quick text saying that he was sick and you didn’t hear from him for the rest of the day. which you thought was weird but didn’t really pay it any mind. he probably just needed his rest.
you dropped your bags at the door, walking over to the kitchen to look for any snacks you could bring along with you to the couch.
as you shuffled through the space, your apartment seemed eerily silent, making you feel a bit out of place. the stillness wasn’t something you were used to, normally riki would be playing his game or you’d play some music. but tonight was different.
you shrugged the uneasy feeling off, trying to let yourself get used to having no noise around. you grabbed your bowl of the snack that you had craved so badly, heading to the living room and turning the television on.
you began eating your snack, becoming immersed in the movie you were watching. the tv’s volume was turned up enough so that you could hear it but not enough to miss the sound of something brushing against the hallway wall.
your brows furrowed as you turned your head in the direction, seeing nothing but the darkness of your empty corridor. the thought of something down there made you shutter but you tried ignoring it. maybe it was wind?
just then, your phone rang loudly, prompting you to turn away from the noise and pick it up.
“hello?” you answered.
“‘evenin’, pretty. alone again, i see.” the voice was one you’d never recognized before. but for whatever reason, the person’s words sent shivers through your body.
“who’s this?”
“whoever you want me to be, baby.” they let out a twisted chuckle, their voice dripping with something sinister.
you couldn’t reply, too confused and in shock.
“let’s play a game, shall w—“
“how do you know i’m alone?” you cut the person off, which sounded like a male’s voice but you didn’t pay much attention to it.
he laughed once again, “a little birdie told me.”
he paused for a moment, as if he was going to say something else.
“actually, your window was open.”
you sat up straight on your couch, eyes widening as you looked around frantically. you heard the unknown laugh on the other line, as if he could see the fear on your face.
you hung up, throwing your phone to the side before placing your bowl on the table in front of you.
now you were really worried and way too uncomfortable to continue watching tv.
your phone began to shriek again, the ringtone going off. you were hesitant about answering, but what would happen if you didn’t? would this stranger hurt you?
too afraid of the consequences, you pick the phone up with a trembling hand, clicking the answer button and bringing it to your ear.
“you keep answering me.. it’s almost like you wanna hear my voice.”
your breathing was unsteady as you listened to the stranger, too afraid to speak.
“what’s wrong? cat got your tongue, hm?” he said, faux sympathy in his voice. he could hear the way your breathed, how shaky you were.
“what do you want from me?” you mumbled into the phone.
“i just wanna have fun, sweetheart. that’s what halloween is all about.. right?”
you didn’t respond, too busy looking around the room, studying any corner and window to see where this man was or how he got into your home.
“why don’t we play a game, huh?”
there was another small noise in your hallway, causing you to turn around quickly, seeing nothing but pitch black but still hearing the sound.
it sounded like an object dragging against the wall.
“what kind of game?” you shuttered, backing into the table as you kept your eyes on the hallway.
“how about a game of.. tag?”
the dragging noise became louder and sounded as if it was getting closer.
“wh-what do you mean..?”
“you’ve never played tag before, silly? it’s easy,”
his voice grew more mischievous as the noise intensified, your ears ringing with fear as you let out a small whimper.
“i’m it… and now, all you have to do is scream.”
the call ended abruptly, the scraping noise fading with it. In the darkness of the hallway, you could make out the faint outline of a white mask. it moved closer, as a figure in a Ghostface mask emerged from the shadows.
you dropped your phone to the floor as the figure drew closer. paralyzed, you tried to move, but the shock held you in place— frozen in fear.
the mask tilted, as if studying you— relishing the fear in your eyes. as he headed toward you, the dim light had caught on the sharp edge of a blade in his hand.
suddenly, you didn’t feel so frozen anymore. the glimpse of the knife had knocked you out of your paralysis, causing you to dash into the direction of the kitchen.
the stranger didn’t run— it only took a few strides across the room for him to have a hold around your waist, pulling you into him tightly.
“where you goin’, pretty? the game just started.”
he lifted the blade up, as if he was going to press it against you, but he didn’t. instead, a familiar laugh came from under the mask, as you wriggled around in his arm.
“riki?!”
he continued to cackle as he let you go, lowering the blade. you turned around to back out of his arms, surprised to see that the “stranger” was none other than your boyfriend, who was always playing jokes.
your heart was still racing as you shoved his shoulder, half relieved and half furious. “that wasn’t funny, ki, you could’ve given me a heart attack!”
he just grinned, clearly proud of his scare.
“got your heart racing and i didn’t even have to try. was i that good?” he joked, taking his mask off so it sat on top of his head.
there was a sheen of sweat on his forehead, his face slightly flushed as he grinned at you.
your heart was slowing down now but a different kind of nervousness took over. you looked up at him with a slight pout on your face, playfully shoving his shoulder.
“no, babe, that wasn’t funny..”
he mirrored your pout, teasing you as he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you flush against him.
“aw, i’m sorry, mamas..”
he gently tilted your chin up, his gloved hand squeezing it gently. his eyes softened as he looked down at you.
“c’mon, don’t be mad,” he murmured, brushing his thumb along your cheek. “i’ll make it up to you… anything you want.”you couldn’t help but roll your eyes, though his warmth and closeness were making it harder to remain annoyed.
“anything, huh?” you replied, crossing your arms but leaning into his embrace.
riki grinned once more, pressing a light kiss to your forehead. “anything.” he repeated, letting his lips linger as he pulled you even closer.
“how about this?” he lowered his face, brushing his nose against yours, before leaning into to capture your lips in a soft, but urgent kiss.
you melted against him as his hand rested on the small of your back, not wanting to let you go. he deepened the kiss, making your heart race, a fluttering excitement coursing through you. your hands came up to rest on the sides of his face as you leaned into him more.
the world around you faded and you nearly forgot all about your scare from moments ago, only focused on the way riki held you so closely.
you pulled back slightly, breathless, look up into his eyes.
“forgive me?” he asked, his voice low and inviting, eyes sparkling with mischief. you smiled up at him, all of your anger gone now.
“do that again and i’ll think about it.”
he chuckled softly, leaning in for another kiss, this one deeper and a bit more passionate. his warm embrace and plush lips had you in a trance, drowning out all thoughts except for the sweet taste of him.

Can we get a fluff with Vil and Riddle in the villain au?
Villainess au Side story: the villain in my heart feat: Riddle genre: fluff note: follows the villain/ess series Riddle ver. but can be read independently, no pronouns were used, roughly 1.5k word count
Vil's part will be in a separate post because I didn't want the post to get too long (typical me)
“He’s busy again?”
Cater had a hard time keeping his smile as he watched your mood damper over his answer. He doesn't want to be the bearer of bad news but what was he to do? You have been asking for Riddle but the monarch has buried himself in his work since the proposal of an alliance with a neighboring kingdom. “I’m afraid so, your highness”
You let out a sigh as your mind wandered to the last time you had the chance to be your husband. As competent as Riddle was, you worried that he may soon suffer from overwork should he keep his schedule the way it is.
“I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen him take a break” you lamented on your Riddle’s bad working habits. “His temper is not the best when he’s gets too stressed”
“It’s not exactly the greatest to begin with, though” Cater muttered a joke under his breath but made sure no one heard, lest he wants to be “off with his head”.
To his luck, you didn’t hear (or perhaps just ignored) his quip and instead decided on a plan for Riddle’s sake.
“I will get him away from his work for a break” you looked straight into the red-haired advisor with conviction in your eyes and a mischievous smile on your lips “and you’re helping me”
Riddle was ever diligent in his work, efficiently breezing through his paperwork with appropriate time to go over his preparations for the appointment later with the noble heads. Trey stayed by the redhead’s side, poised and alert to Riddle’s needs and commands. Nothing was out of place and were in order, to Riddle’s satisfaction.
But during his less hectic tasks, he finds himself wondering how you were doing and where you might be while he was kept away from you since the influx of work on him. He denies the need for your constant company since he is not a child (of course not) but he misses the earlier days where he had more moments with you other than meal times and the nightly routine of wishing each other goodnight, something you insisted and he was later grateful for.
A series of knocks rang through the room and Cater’s voice was heard behind the door. With Riddle’s permission, the red-haired aid entered with a letter in hand. Riddle raised his brows curiously and motioned to the letter.
“Who’s letter is that?” Most of his urgent letters were delivered early today and unlike those letters, this new one was much simpler without so much as a wax seal. “It’s poorly made without even a seal of identification on it.”
“It is from your partner your highness, King Riddle”
“Hand it over”
As soon as Cater reached out his hand, Riddle snatched the letter from his grasp before slowly unraveling the letter as though he feared he would tear it. To avoid his wrath, Trey and Cater stifled their laughter with all their might.
Hello Riddy,
Do you remember days like this? Where we would exchange letters during our time apart to keep each other company. I cherish those moments but I’m happy to be with you again in the kingdom.
How unfair of you to stir Riddle’s feelings like this through mere written words. Riddle can feel his heart flutter at the thought of you and how you enjoyed writing letters together with him. He held every letter you wrote to him and was even kept away safely in the family’s treasury room, even your last letter which haunted him when you announced your initial plans to escape the kingdom.
But I’m a little upset that my dear friend and husband has been working all these days and I haven't been able to even have a glimpse of him aside from our shared meals and the dead of night. So, I prepared a challenge to the great Riddle Rosehearts as retribution. There are clues scattered around the palace and you must follow them to find me before your meeting with the ducal family.
Riddle checked his pocket watch and saw that there was roughly 30 minutes before his guests were to arrive. That seems to be enough time for some people but for Riddle who rarely sees his beloved, that’s hardly the case.
”Cater, tell me where my beloved is right now” he commanded but said man kept his mouth shut, to Riddle’s shock.
“Um…King Riddle, have you read the entirety of the letter?”
In his impatience, Riddle missed the last contents of the letter which he then read,
If you command Cater or anyone else to tell you where I am, I will refuse to speak or look at you for the entire day and night, which includes our nightly goodnight wishes.
Your first clue is ….
Riddle left his study room and proceeded to breeze through the clues you’ve left behind which should lead to you. Your first clue brought him to the imperial library, specifically to an aisle towards the corner of the large room where the two of you first hid together when Riddle played hide-and-seek together with Chen’ya and Trey. The second clue he found brought him to the stable where a letter was placed atop of the box of apples which is the preferred treat of Riddle’s favourite horse, who whined happily seeing Riddle after so long. The next clue led him to the main kitchen where the kitchen head had just brewed his preferred tea blend at the request of his partner.
Each new clue gave Riddle a new burst of energy which fueled his steps as he got closer and closer to the end of adventure. The last clue implied that his last stop was in the palace garden, at the gazebo in the heart of the maze. As he got closer, he could hear your voice and soon his feet quickened his pace and he saw you at the gazebo as he predicted.
Though he didn’t think he would come face to face with a distressed look of your face which appeared when your eyes caught his.
“Riddle? You’re already here?!” You panicked as you stumbled with arranging the tableware on the table before giving up with a sigh “What an absolute failure”
Riddle looked at the contents on the table and saw what you were attempting to hide. A plate of strawberry tarts but the edges had broken off and the tart looked to be breaking apart, barely in one piece. It was an unusual site as the patissiers of the palace were handpicked by Trey from his family’s business for their talents. Such a mess would not be their handiwork.
“I wanted to surprise you by baking your favorite tarts but it started crumbling and the filling was leaking out” you groaned at the sight of your baking disaster. “I’m sorry for how disappointing it must be”
You feared the redhead’s reaction to your failure but instead, you were surprised by the sudden embrace you found yourself in as Riddle wrapped his arms around you, with him resting his head on your shoulder. It wasn’t as though you don’t share hugs like this but it was rare for Riddle to initiate them, especially one so close and tight. Regardless, you were quick to reciprocate by encasing Riddle in your arms as well.
Riddle couldn’t help himself. You chose your clues based on your time with him. Riddle’s heart was set ablaze at the thought that you not only remembered your cherished past with him but also kept his current interests and preferences in mind. In under 30 minutes, you managed to give him more love and attention than he had in such a long time.
“I’m unbelievably happy” he whispered softly into your shoulder, but you heard him which brought a smile of your own. “Thank you, truly”
“I’m glad” you replied but even if Riddle was pleased, you weren’t satisfied with how this adventure ended so you adjusted your position to force Riddle to face you. “But I still want to give you something before your appointment. Is there anything else you might want?”
Riddle looked to be in thought as he looked into your eyes. You guessed that he was taking great consideration which on one hand made you happy he’s taking this seriously but at the same time you felt a little nervous. Then Riddle spoke.
“I would like…to ask for forgiveness”
Before you could question him, Riddle proceeded with his plan. Carefully, he placed a hand on your cheek guiding before leaning in to place a light touch on your lips with his. The young King’s cheeks were burning red but you were no better as you could feel the scorching heat building in your body, your face must be hot to the touch under Riddle’s palm.
Riddle continued his bold actions by adding pressure into the kiss, his mouth fully closed on yours as he subtly brought you closer by your waist. He was not usually such a daring man but your letters and your sadness over something as trivial as disappointing him drove him to capture your lips in an impulsive act of affection.
You bring silliness to his orderly world and he’s ecstatic that you do.

————
You never thought you would make it back.
You had just arrived in Coruscant after being cooped up in your ship for 16 hours straight and you thought you were going to lose it. You had traveled to Alderaan to visit your family despite being in the midst of a war. Your family was excited to see you and told you they were alright. Things were a bit hectic in the city, but what did you expect when there was a war breaking out? At least you were back where you belonged.
You sighed when your ship finally made it onto the landing strip. Before gathering your belongings, you made sure to take a quick stretch because of how demanding the long journey had been on your body. When you finally stood up, you grabbed your luggage that was in the overhead compartment and made sure to thank the pilot. The thing that made you excited the most was seeing your best friend, Anakin, after not seeing him while you were away. Don’t get it wrong, you were glad to be back in the great capital to fulfill your senator duties, but the thought of seeing Anakin filled your heart with even more joy. All you had to do was step out the door before you were reunited with him.
You open the door with a huge smile on your face, but it slowly falters once you see who was waiting for her. It was Obi-Wan. You were obviously glad to see him since he was an old friend of yours, but you felt disappointed at the fact that it wasn’t Anakin. You try to keep your manner a polite one, but the disappointment was still sinking further into your heart.
“Obi-Wan, what are you doing here?” you say playfully in an attempt to conceal your true feelings about the entire situation.
“I had to take Anakin’s place since he’s busy being Senator Amidala’s bodyguard,” he says with a slight smile. You look like a puppy who had just gotten kicked when you heard Anakin wasn’t going to be around. You tried to suppress any and all negative emotions from Obi-Wan, but it must’ve failed when he looked at you with concern.
“I know how you must feel. He’s your friend and I know you must want to see him, but he must put his duties first,” he says honestly.
He was wrong about one thing. He wasn’t just your friend. He was your crush. The two of you had met not that long ago through Padme of all people and you hit it off right away. It was as if you guys had known each other for a lifetime.
“I completely get it, master,” you say to him, understanding where he was coming from.
“Let’s walk shall we?” Obi-Wan asks rhetorically. You give him a nod before making your guys’ way towards the senator building.
—————
After having a rather fulfilling conversation with Obi-Wan, you guys finally made it to the senator building before walking in. You admire the lovely interior of the building and realized how much you missed seeing it. Even though it sounded crazy, you had grown to love the environment around you. Despite all the challenges the job of a senator possessed, you still loved it nevertheless. As you were reminiscing all the memories that had happened in that very building, something snapped you out of your wandering thoughts instantly. The sight of Padme and Anakin…together. It evoked many emotions and you couldn’t help but feel every single ounce of them. The pain, the sadness, and a slight sliver of fear.
You could see the way Padme talked to Anakin with a cheeky laugh and a smile to go with it. She looked at him with admiration and you could feel your heart sink. It gave you no choice but to look away because of the pain it caused. You knew she liked Anakin and he probably felt the same way about the brown haired senator. I mean, who wouldn’t like her? She was pretty, kind, caring… all of the traits of an amazing girlfriend. Anakin seemed to just walk smoothly by her side with his arms laying beside his hips in a nonchalant manner. Yep, he definitely liked her.
All of a sudden, you hear Obi-Wan start to talk to you and you jerk your head toward him to listen to him better. “Let’s go say hi to them,” he suggests. Before you have time to protest, he walks toward them with a pep in his step. You silently groan knowing you now have to follow him since you and him were in the pairs line of sight. This was going to be dreadful.
You notice how both Padme’s and Anakin’s eyes light up with joy the closer you get to them and you brace yourself for the interaction you were going to have with them. You knew it was going to be nothing short of awkward, especially if you couldn’t contain your mushy-gushy feelings in for Anakin during the conversation.
“Anakin, Padme… I didn’t expect to see you guys here,” you say.
“Anakin was just getting some air with me, isn’t that right?” she asks, directing her question at both you and Anakin.
“Yeah…” Anakin murmurs loud enough for you to hear.
“Well, what are you guys doing here?” she asks the two of you in a chipper voice.
“I just got back from Alderaan and Obi-Wan here decided to meet me outside of my ship,” you say with a fake happy tone in your voice as Obi-Wan smiled. You saw everything except the way Anakin was looking down at the carpeted ground with a sad look in his eyes. He missed you for so long and wanted to be the one to accompany you when you got back. Then he became Padme’s bodyguard and told he was to watch over her at all times instead of being with the one person who mattered in his life— you. He hated this arrangement more than you knew and not because he hated Padme. Not at all. He was Padme’s childhood friend and he enjoyed seeing her when he first entered the order. Yes, he harbored feelings for the senator when he was just a nine year old boy and she was the queen, but things were different now. He remembers it as an innocent type of puppy love where nothing came out of it.
“It’s good to see you guys again,” she says with a smile.
“We can say the same,” Obi-Wan says proudly.
You wanted nothing more than to say something to Anakin, but you couldn’t muster up the courage. It was agonizing knowing that you couldn’t form a sentence to the boy you liked when you knew he didn’t feel the same way about you. You could feel the tears start to strain in your eyes and you fought it with every fiber of your being even when it grew to be tiring. Somehow through the pressure, you felt something fall just below your eyelids and you knew you had failed. Tears were now cascading down your cheeks and you could feel the stinging pain that went along with it. Unknown to you, Anakin saw how stained your cheeks had become from your tears and it absolutely crushed him to see you like this. He had a feeling that you thought he didn’t feel the same way about you and all he wanted to do was tell you otherwise. He wanted to tell you that you were the most pretty, selfless, and caring person he had ever met. Similar to your situation, he had words to say, but just couldn’t get them out of his throat. You knew you had to get out of here as soon as possible if you were crying this soon into the conversation.
“Excuse me senator, I just realized I have somewhere to be. If you don’t mind, I have to excuse myself,” you say to her.
“No worries,” she replies.
“It was nice seeing you guys again. Take care,” you say with a faint smile before walking away from the group, knowing damn well that was the absolute worst and most awkward way to remove yourself from that situation. However, you knew it was for the best because of the toll it would’ve taken if you didn’t do so. You just needed to be alone right now.
“Hmm… that was rather odd,” Obi-Wan says with a confused look on his face.
————
It had been hours since you left them and returned to your apartment, which made Anakin puzzled. He was still pondering all the possible reasons you had cried and couldn’t come up with a solid reason. The thing that troubled him the most was seeing you in such a fragile state. He hated how he seemed to be the only one to notice how distraught you were yet did nothing to comfort you. He hated himself for it. He knew he shouldn’t be feeling this way about you since it was forbidden by the code he swore to. Plus, attachments and overwhelming feelings were seen as leading a Jedi over to the dark side. Anakin felt conflicted. The thought of never being able to fully have you suffocated every ounce of his soul. You were the tiny bit of light in his life that hadn’t burned out yet and he didn’t want that to change. Anakin knew he should be worried about other things like protecting Padme at all costs especially since he’s also in the same room as her right now.
Things had never been so boring with her like they were right now. The both of them were currently watching one of her holodramas and he could feel himself fighting the fat urge to fall asleep if it meant he wouldn’t have to watch this shit. To his surprise, Padme didn’t have the same endurance to stay up as late as him which became pretty evident as she was now yawning up a storm. He silently thanked the maker for letting the ball fall into his court in this moment.
“I think I’m going to go to bed now if that’s alright with you, Ani” she yawns.
That fucking nickname. He absolutely hated when she called him that. She had called him that when they first met as kids because it was normal, but he never thought he would hear her use it again. Quite frankly, he didn’t want her to call him that. The only person he would let call him that was you. Only you. And instead of being around you to hear the name fall from your lips, he was stuck with her.
“That’s probably a good idea,” he says, technically not lying. She nods at his comment before walking away, now entering her bedroom. He sighs when he hears the door shut, being happier than ever. The quaint atmosphere around him is deafening and he doesn’t know what to do to kill time while she’s asleep. He thinks of every possible option yet comes up with nothing. Reading? Not his thing. Watching sappy holodramas? Absolutely not.
The only thought that remained in his head as he was slumped over on the couch was you. He was imagining how he would make things right, tell you how he really felt, stuff like that. It was driving him mad. He never wanted anything more… not in this moment. Uninvited thoughts of all of the good times were flooding his mind. The times you guys laughed up a storm until it hurt, telling each other about your guys’ days, comforting the other when it was needed. Those were the highlights in his life despite not knowing you for that long. You were the best thing that happened to him and he couldn’t deny it at all. He knew he would be an absolute fool if he let you get away knowing that you were the one. With that in mind, he knew what he had to do even if it meant going against the orders of the council. He couldn’t be bothered to give a damn when you were restlessly in his thoughts. He had to see you. Right now.
He got up from the couch and quietly walked over to the front door before opening it and making his way to your door. He was feeling uneasy about the entire thing and he didn’t know why. He was truly into you— that much he knew. What he didn’t know was the territory that came with it. His entire life would change forever if he went through with admitting his true feelings for you. He would have to constantly lie to the council, sneak around with you, risk getting caught, and so many more unthinkable things. But through all of these thoughts, one thing became abundantly clear to him. He would do it all for you.
Anakin finally breaks out of his thoughts and timidly knocks on your door, feeling his heart race faster than ever. He was scared.
————
You were a mess sitting on the couch. After the interaction you shared earlier, you had become an emotional wreck. Here you were, shamelessly eating ice cream from the tub and watching your favorite holodrama in your comfiest silk pjs in an attempt to distract yourself from the pain. You were having such a great time until you heard a set of knocks against your apartment door. You wondered who could possibly be here right now at the dead of night. You groan before getting up from the comfy couch and make your way towards the door. You open it slowly until you were met with a familiar figure. It was Anakin.
“Anakin, is everything alright? What are you doing here?” you ask him.
“Can I come in?” he asks.
You hesitate for a second, but then remember how he’s always there for you when you need someone to talk to. He made you feel better when you were feeling down whether it was with his witty jokes or his contagious laugh. You knew you owed him.
“Of course,” you say with a faint smile. He steps into your apartment with an awkward stride, which was unusual because he always had a carried himself with confidence.
“Nice place you got here,” he says, now wandering around your apartment. He was deflecting.
“Ani,” you call out.
“Yeah?” he questions.
“I can tell something’s bothering you. Tell me and I’ll listen,” you say.
You can hear his breath hitch at your proposition. That much is clear. Clearly whatever he had to say was slowly eating away at him and it hurt you to see the once confident Padawan now reduced to a turtle hiding in his shell.
“It’s not that easy,” he mutters softly.
“Ani, you know you can talk to me about anything, you know that right?” you reassure.
“But this is different… It’s about you,” he finally admits.
What?… What could that possibly mean?
“About me?” you question.
“It’s complicated,” he says.
Come on Skywalker, just say it already.
“I think I can handle it,” you say with trepidation.
He sighs heavily with glints of sweat forming underneath his robes, nervous but also ready to get this over with.
“I’m in love with you, Y/N.”
You almost look shocked and you can’t help but take a second to process his words. Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one, was in love with you? It sounded crazy just thinking about it. You felt like you were dreaming, but with the desire to never wake up. You felt your heart flutter in your chest but also quiver at the same time. It was so much to take in.
“Y-You’re in love with me?” you stammer like a fool.
“I have ever since I met you,” he admits.
“What about Padme?” you question.
“Padme? Nothing’s going on with me and Padme,” he clarifies.
“I see the way she looks at you, Anakin,” you say with a sad expression planted on your face.
“Is that why you were upset earlier? Because of Padme?” he asks, concerned for your wellbeing.
“It doesn’t matter,” you let out.
“Well it matters to me. I always care about the way you feel,” Anakin says to you.
“Then you should know how I feel right now,” you begin with dread filling your body before taking a rather shallow breath. “Truth is… I’m in love with you too,” you confess.
“You are?” he asks with confusion evident on his pretty face.
“Maker, Ani… Of course I am. I mean, why do you think I was sad about Obi-Wan greeting me instead of you?” you say.
That nickname.
“You’re not the only one,” he admits. “I wanted to see you return more than anything in the galaxy”.
“I did too,” you say softly.
That felt good to get off your chest.
“The only thing I want more than that is you,” Anakin pleads with tears threatening to spill from his gorgeous blue eyes.
It hurt to see him like this… so vulnerable and raw. Because of you.
“Trust me, I do too… It’s just not possible with the council and everything,” you counterclaim.
“I don’t care about the council,” Anakin tells you straight up.
“I can’t let you throw your entire life away for me even if we both want each other. I mean, you would be expelled from the order if they ever found out, you say in an attempt to bring him back to reality.
It was truly bittersweet. Here you guys were, finally admitting your mutual feelings for one another before it was ruined by the fact that the council would never allow such a thing to occur. For makers sake, couldn’t they let you guys to be happy? The whole attachment rule seemed to be entirely stupid to you guys because it felt like the two of you weren’t allowed to express yourselves through romantic feelings. In short, it fucking sucked.
“They would never find out… I wouldn’t let them,” he claims.
“I don’t know about that, Ani… It’s all too risky,” you say back to him.
“I would risk anything and everything for you,” he says softly.
“Are you sure? I mean, you committed yourself to the Jedi code for life…” you stammer.
All of a sudden, he leans in closer to you as to answer your question before softly kissing you on your lips. You should be pulling away right now… it would be the right thing to do, but your feelings felt more right. Finally overcoming hesitation, you accept the kiss and maker, it was everything you’ve ever wanted in a kiss. You had imagined kissing him multiple times, but the real deal felt better than anything your mind could’ve pictured. It was soft but also full of passion. You felt like you were going to pass away, but if you were going to, at least you were doing something you loved with the boy you loved.
The two of you fall deeper into the much needed kiss which was fueled by all of the built up emotions you guys had held in for what seemed like forever. It was nothing short of bliss. He finally breaks the contact before smiling at you.
“I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life,” he finally says to you with a fat smile on his face.

Hook Man
(Master list, Previous Ch., Next Ch)
The spring breeze rustles my hair as I diligently sip on the chai latte in front of me, the small outdoor cafe we sat at bringing me some much needed peace after a hectic last hunt.
Deans next to me, his arm around my chair practically bringing us closer even as his brother stands at a payphone on the phone with the FBI.
Suddenly my phone rings, the familiar yet annoying buzz ringing in my sweater pocket. Dean looks at me with a raised eyebrow. I shrug at him, I have no idea why or who would be calling me. I fumble the phone out of my pocket looking at the name that was printed on the screen of my flip phone, ‘B/N :D’ sliding across the small screen.
“Oh! It’s my brother!” I smile at Dean. He smiles at me back beneath the cup he brought to his lips, he pulls it away from him “Say ‘Hi’ for us” he requests. Both boys have kind of always been close with my brother, especially Dean who was closer to him in age.
I scoot my seat back, getting up from the white metal chair and walking away slightly, the opposite way in which Sam stood. I flip my phone open with a satisfying click, answering the phone “Hi B/N!” I answer.
“Hey! How are you?” He asks me, his voice sweet and smiley as he speaks. “Busy and tired”, I answer, “What about you?”
“Oh you know, tired also…but I haven’t heard from you in a couple of months. Like at all, you could have texted you know” He lectures and I know he’s more disappointed in me then angry, he’s always been scared that we would become distant considering we lived in different states and that I wasn’t the best at communicating first.
“I’m sorry” I sigh, disappointed in myself too, “I’ve been hunting.”
“All this time? Alone?!” he shoots back without missing a beat.
“No! no no. I don’t do long hunting trips alone… I’m, uh, well Dean came to me and said he needed my help an-“ I explain getting cut off by my brother, “And you can’t say no” He laughs.
“Yeah” I exhale, laughing along with him, “They say hi by the way.”
“Say hi for me too and that if anything happens to you I will personally track them down and remove their orga-“
“Okay okay! I get it yup!… You know they’d never let anything happen to me” I explain, even though under the concealer I wore there were bruises still healing from the shapeshifter hunt. (I don’t blame either one of the boys for what happened.)
“Yeah well I love you and miss you and I wish you’d call more especially if ur out hunting, I need to know you’re safe.” He tells me.
“I love you too, I promise I will call you at least twice a week for updates.” I smile.
“You better, anyways I wish I could talk longer but I’m sitting in the parking lot of my job and have to go in.” He explains. “Alright, bye bye love you!” I finished. “Love you too” he says before hanging up.
I pocket my phone twirling around with a smile on my face. Sam’s back at the table now talking to his brother and by the scowl on his face I'd say his call hadn’t gone well. I walk back over to my seat, Dean's arm still around the chair, “What did I miss?” I ask as I sink down into the chair.
“Dads not in the FBI’s Missing Persons Data Bank and Dean found a possible new hunt for us” Sam brings me up to speed, looking disappointed.
“Here check it out” Dean turns the laptop towards me scrolling up to the beginning of the article, “Ankeny, Iowa. It’s only about a hundred miles from here.”
I read through the article quickly, years of having to read as well as just for fun making me a fast reader. A key point sticking out to me, ‘The mutilated body was found near the victim’s car, parked on 9 Mile Road.’
“I think it might not be anything. One freaked out witness who didn’t see anything? Doesn’t mean it’s the Invisible Man.” Sam points out as I finish reading. “And I think it’s worth checking out, Dad would” Dean counters, giving his brother a pointed look.
“I mean emotions can affect the liability of an eyewitness. However, the fact that the body was suspended from a bridge right over the car in presumably a matter of minutes, considering the time of death and the arrival at the scene, without the witness seeing a thing- like at all is a little bazaar. It’s probably worth checking out.” I ramble out.
“Ha! See” Dean smirks.
The Impala comes to a stop in front of a fraternity house, a big white townhouse, where the victim Rich used to live. It seems like an army of men are outside working on all sorts of cars, was this some sort of bonding thing?
I may have gone to college but I never interacted with frats and I certainly have never seen them all working on different cars all together. Is this normal? Is this what guys do?
We get out of the car immediately getting the attention of the guys working, all their eyes pinned to us.
“Nice wheels.” Dean starts, gaining weird looks from the younger men, “We’re your fraternity brothers. From Ohio. We’re new in town. Transfers. Looking for a place to stay.” He grins. One of the boys nods slowly at him, his gaze then switching to me. He eyed me up and down as if he’s never seen a woman before, despite being in a frat. Maybe that was unfair to say, stereotypes and all that, but it still made my skin crawl and I was suddenly all too aware of the fact that I had chosen to wear a skirt this morning.
The man that looked at me wiped his hands on a dirty rag, “You guys can check it out, but,uh, sorry, no chics allowed here. She’d need to find a sorority spot.” He nods towards me, his eyes a shinny kind of creepy.
“Aw, don’t worry she’s my girlfriend” Dean smirks wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to his body till my side was pressed right up against his, “Gotta make sure my girl knows which rooms mine” he winks at the man and my face flushes. My heart lurches at the phrase ‘my girl’ even though I knew it was just for a cover- it was a lie and yet it felt so right.
*****
We walked through the frat house which was cleaner than I expected, only a few cups lying around and only a small smell of booze.
Dean's fingers were intertwined with mine to keep up the act of me being his girlfriend, and I didn’t mind one bit. Maybe I'm touch starved.
After one last turn in the house we found someone to talk to which happened to be a shirtless guy with yellow shorts painting his face and body purple. Dean knocks on the door with his free hand while Sam and I share a look of confusion with the purple man in front of us.
“Who are you?” the guy asks, turning his body halfway towards us. “We’re your new roommates”, Dean smiles walking further into the room.
The man holds up his paint can and brushes to Dean, “Do me a favor? Get my back. Big game today.” I try to conceal the horror on my face. Dean smirks pointing to his brother, “He’s the artist. Things he can do with a brush.” Sam takes the brush and can with a total look of mortification on his face as he begins to paint the guys back.
Meanwhile, Dean occupies the worn armchair, effortlessly tugging me towards him. He manspreads in the chair, then practically places me on his right thigh. My legs slip between his spread legs. His grip releases my hand, transferring possession to my exposed thigh, the frigid touch of his ring kindling goosebumps along my skin. Suddenly I'm back to not regretting my choice of a skirt this morning.
I search his face for a tell, but all I find is a cryptic smile. He's not giving anything away, engrossed in a magazine he casually picks up from a nearby table. I swallow hard, attempting to regain mental composure, but the echo of 'my girl' and the weight of his hand disrupt any coherent thought. A fog settles in my mind as butterflies riot in my stomach, leaving me dizzy and utterly consumed.
“So…Murph. Is it true?” Dean starts, most likely getting the name from the magazine he had picked up. “What?” he answers.
“We heard one of the guys around here got killed last week.” Dean leads him.
“Yeah.” Murph sighs.
“What happened?” Sam asks, still painting his back.
“They’re saying some psycho with a knife. Maybe a drifter passing through. Rich was a good guy.” Murph explains.
Dean's hand suddenly flexes on my thigh, squeezing it slightly right as I was about to talk, “R-Rich he was with somebody?” I stumble over my words, my voice seemingly a higher octave as I speak. Either way I only asked to see if my assumption was correct- the eyewitness wasn’t just a witness but a possible victim who got away safe.
“Not just somebody. Lori Sorensen.” Murph laughs a little.
“Who’s Lori Sorensen?” I ask, Dean cutting in right after me to poke fun at his brother, “You missed a spot. Just down there- on the back.” Sam glares at him before getting said spot, Dean grins like crazy.
“Lori’s a freshman. She’s a local. Super hot. And get this…she’s a reverend’s daughter.” Murph smirks
“You wouldn’t happen to know which church, would ya?” Dean asks.
The church looked a little worn on the outside, a clear sign it’s been here for awhile but the inside was beautiful. Cherry colored wood used in the whole inside except the walls which were laid with cobblestone and big stain glass windows depicting certain bible scenes. The sun shone through them illuminating the people sitting in the pews with a light of oranges and reds. Yes it looked like any other church sure, and maybe it was the people here showing the love that they felt for someone who was no longer here that made it so beautiful, whatever it was brought a certain warmth to my heart regardless of the fact that I wasn’t religious.
The steady voice of the reverend flowed through the church, the peaceful atmosphere and his voice was interrupted by the heavy brown door that slammed behind us entering. The whole room fell silent for a beat and people turned towards us, the source of the disruption. With an awkward smile as an apology the sermon continued as usual.
“As a community, and as a family. The loss of a young person is particularly tragic. A life unlived is the saddest of passings.” The reverend begins again as we find a seat towards the back. “So, please, let us pray. For peace, for guidance, and for the power to protect our children.”
An odd feeling of familiarity and sadness fills my veins, my fingers twitch with the countless memories I had of what now seemed like a lifetime ago even if it really couldn’t have been more than ten years. I bow my head in prayer and respect, the act coming naturally to me. But I can’t find it in myself to actually pray, to talk to a god again.
The last time I talked to a god was when my mom died, I thought if I prayed she’d come back or at the very least the hole in my chest wouldn’t be there anymore, that he could take my pain away when I hadn’t wanted to feel that way.
I kept praying. Every night for it to change.
I never got an answer, not a sign, not a peep of comfort.
I don’t remember when I stopped believing… but I do remember praying to a God that would not answer.
****
Outside the church, people stood around talking in small groups and hugging each other before moving on to another person or leaving all together.
A brunette girl in a green and white top speaks with her slightly taller friend, and with a lasting hug their conversation is over. According to the picture Murph had shown us of Rich and Lori posing together, the brunette just had to be her.
We walk up to her, mostly confident in the matching identity, “Are you Lori?” Sam asks in confirmation.
“Yeah.” She nods.
“My name is Sam. This is my brother, Dean. And my friend, Y/N.” Dean waves a little awkwardly and I smile sweetly at the girl in front of us.
“We just transferred here to the university.” Sam explains, Lori nods “ I saw you inside.”
“We don’t wanna bother you. We just heard about what happened and…” Sam trails off eyebrows furrowed. “We wanted to say how sorry we were” Dean finishes his brother's sentence.
Sam clears his throat as if his words were hard to get out, “I kind of know what you’re going through. I-I saw someone..get hurt once. It’s something you don’t forget.” Lori nods sadly, her eyes turned down instead of the previous eye contact.
Suddenly the reverend came over to his daughter, a hand placed on her shoulder, “Dad, um, this is Sam, Dean, and Y/N. They’re new students.” The older man shakes each of our hands. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir. I must say, that was an inspiring sermon.” Dean smiles, his dimple on display.
“Thank you very much. It’s so nice to find young people who are open to the Lord’s message.” He looks between the three of us.
“I was actually hoping to catch you after the sermon” I begin, my fingers ghost over Dean's hand, “We’re also new to town.” As if understanding my plan to give Sam time to talk to Lori in private Dean intertwined his fingers with mine, continuing my sentence and leading us and the reverend slightly away from his daughter, “And, uh, we were looking for a, um, a church group.”
The boys follow after me as I search through the rows of bookshelves in this large library, “So you believe her?” Dean asks his brother.
“I do.” Sam answers plainly.
“Yeah, I think she’s hot, too.” Dean smiles. I turn my head towards him slowly, giving him a sharp look, “Would you like to say that again” I smile at him. “No ma’am” He puts his hands up in defense and defeat.
“Look, man, there’s something in her eyes. And listen to this: she heard scratching on the roof. Found the bloody body suspended upside down over the car.” Sam continues, ignoring what just happened.
I turn towards the boys behind me swiftly, my skirt swishing against me at my movement, “You think we’re dealing with the Hook Man?”
“Yeah I mean that’s one of the most famous urban legends ever” Dean tries to rationalize.
“Every urban legend has a source. A place where it all began.” Sam replies.
“Yeah, but what about the phantom scratches and the tire punctures and the invisible killer?” Dean asks.
“Well, maybe the Hook Man isn’t a man at all. What if it’s some kind of spirit?”
*****
The nice librarian brings over the last of the heavy boxes we asked for, the number of which I lost count of, “Here you go. Arrest records going back to 1851”, she announces placing the box down. Dean blows some dust off the box immediately coughing. A laugh escapes my lips, “What did you think was going to happen?”
The librarian walks away, Sam catching her to say thanks while Dean and I “bickered.”
He rolls his eyes at me pushing over one of the boxes towards me. I stand up from my seat to see in the box better, I pull out one of the many manila folders sitting back down to start what I know is going to be hours of research.
“So, this is how you both spent four good years of your life, huh?” Dean asks, eyebrows raised as he leaned back in his chair, a folder in his hand.
“Mhm” I hum, getting too focused to give a proper response.
“Welcome to higher education” Sam sighs as if to get comfortable.
I finished the first folder quickly as there weren't many papers in it to begin with, plus it was about a kidnapping case. I’m glad the guy got caught but it wasn’t what I was looking for, I put the folder to the side before picking up another.
“I’m sure you’re wishing hunting didn’t have so much research to it” I inquired, slightly mumbling.
“Yeah no kidding” Dean huffs
****
Hours later and multiple boxes down, Sam suddenly speaks up, “Hey, check this out. 1862. A preacher named Jacob Karns was arrested for murder. Looks like he was so angry over the red light district in town that one night he killed 13 prostitutes.
Uh, right here, ‘some of the deceased were found in their bed, sheets soaked with blood. Others suspended upside down from the limbs of trees as a warning against sins of the flesh.’”
I leaned over to pick up a paper from the folder he was holding that he must have put to the side, “And apparently the preacher lost his hand in some sort of accident and had it replaced with, get this, a silver hook of all things.”
“Look where all this happened” Sam points.
“9 Mile Road” Dean reads.
“Same place where the frat boy was killed” Sam adds, the pieces connecting.
Dean smirks, “Nice job, Dr. Venkmen. Let’s check it out.”
The pure darkness of the night cloaks us, despite the fact we weren’t wearing all black, the trees hide us and Baby as we exit the car heading towards the rear. Dean opens the trunk and hands both Sam and I a rifle, “Here you go”. I shift the gun in my hand, opening the magazine to make sure every slot is filled with a bullet.
“If it is a spirit, buckshot won’t do much good.” Sam points out, having opened his gun magazine too.
“Yeah, rock salt.” Dean smirks, showing him a bullet cartridge as an example. “Huh. Salt being a spirit deterrent.” Sam mumbles in astonishment.
“Yeah. It won’t kill ‘em. But it’ll slow ‘em down.” Dean adds as he picks up a coil of rope from the trunk.
“You know, your brother has been quite the creator since you’ve been away at college” I acknowledge, hoping it didn’t come off as a backhanded comment. Dean winks at me as he slams the trunk shut, a slight warmth spreading on my cheeks. “No kidding, first the homemade emf and now this, you and Dad think of this?” Sam asks as we walk towards the trees.
“I told you. You don’t have to be a college graduate to be a genius.” Dean's smile fades to a hardened look at the sounds of walking and rustling in the trees.
I come to a full stop, my boots skidding in the soft dirt below me, I raise my gun towards the sound and I realize to anyone else I must look a little silly wearing an outfit that includes a skirt and holding a heavy shotgun.
“Guys!” I whisper-shout at the sight of a figure approaching. Both boys appear on either side of me, Sam with the only other gun standing slightly in front.
“Put the gun down now! Now! Put your hands behind your head.” The figure yells raising his own gun as he approaches us, I curse mentally at the Sheriff. But before he can get too close I whisp the gun out of my hands, transporting it safely back to the trunk, if we were gonna get arrested at least the confiscating of one gun is better than two.
Dean and I are quick to follow the guys instructions as Sam slowly neals down to place the gun, his hands raised in defense. I would have loved to hide his gun too but the sheriff most definitely saw at least one gun, his gun.
“Now get down on your knees. Come on, do it! On your knees!” The Sheriff demands. Slowly I drop to my knees, the boys following, the cold dirt sinking into my exposed knees. Frick.
“Now get down on your bellies. Come on, do it!” He yells next. This is just annoying now I think to myself as I lie down. “He had the gun!” Dean throws his brother under the bus, lying down too.
“Shut it!” He yells, kicking the shot gun out of reach before rounding to the back of us. Figuring out by sound alone, he pockets his gun before patting us down thoroughly. Then he tells us to stand again and get in our car. He will follow behind us to the sheriff station and “there better be no funny business.”
****
Exiting a sheriff's office after being “arrested” is a weird experience, especially when all the cops of sorts are looking at you while whispering to each other.
“Saved your asses! Talked the sheriff down to a fine. Dude, I am Matlock.” Dean slaps his brother on the back.
“But how?” Sam asks, looking annoyed, and truthfully I'm not surprised Dean got us out of this.
“I told him you were a dumbass pledge and that we were hazing you.” Dean shrugs.
“What about the shotgun?” Sam points out.
“I said that you were hunting ghosts and the spirits were repelled by rock salt. You know, typical Hell Week prank. And while you were ‘hunting ghosts’ I told ‘em I was gonna try and get in her pants” He motions towards me, my face flushing red with a mix of embarrassment and anger.
“Hey!” I grumble.
“And he believed you?” Sam questioned in disbelief.
“Well, you look like a dumbass pledge and she looks like an easy girl to play no offense” Dean laughs.
“Hey! Offense taken!” I say this time with actual frustration. I slap his shoulder and I know he was expecting it, old habits die hard, but he lets me hit him. “What?! You look all innocent and you’re wearing a skirt which is perfect for banging in the woods!” He says all ‘matter of factly.’
“Dean!” I yell going to slap his shoulder again this time harder but before I can reach him he clasps my wrist. Naturally I try to go at him with my other hand but seemingly reading my mind he grabs my other wrist with the same hand. Now holding both my wrists in one large hand at his side he quirks his eyebrow, I should be a little mad at him but somehow he’s able to diffuse me in a matter of second and to be fair I can’t decide where to look either his veiny hand or his eyes that seem a shade darker than usual.
Suddenly several police run out of the building and jump into their police cars before speeding away. Dean drops his hold on my wrist, the three of us exchange a look.
The car comes to a stop on the street behind the sorority house, getting out of the car we move closer to the white building. “Why would the Hook Man come here? This is a long way from 9 Mile Road” Sam brings up.
“Maybe it’s about something else.” I answer, pulling pairs of latex gloves from my pocket that I made sure to grab from my bag before leaving the car. I hand each of them a pair, Sam putting them on without question while Dean looks at me weirdly “Getting fingerprints on an active crime scene doesn't seem so smart especially when we were already found at the original crime scene” I explain, he makes of face that reads as ‘fair enough’ before he puts his own pair on.
Two sorority girls come out of a side entrance near us looking like they’ve been crying, we push up against the side of the building, the girls passing us.
“Dude, sorority girls! Think we’ll see a naked pillow fight?” Dean asks, a little too happy turning to see his brother climbing onto the balcony of the house. “Yeah cause these girls would have a pillow fight when someone just got murdered in their house” I answer in disbelief as I climb up after Sam, thank god for wearing shorts under skirts and upper body strength. As I reach the top I swing my legs over the railing straddling it before swinging my other leg around, my boots landing on the white concrete, Dean following quickly behind me.
Sam opens a window that leads into a walk-in closet, Lori’s closet, just a door away from the crime scene.
I crawl in after him, Deans right behind me except ever so not gracefully he knocks into one of the dressers.
“Be quiet” Sam snaps.
“You be quiet!” Dean bites back
“You be quiet!”
“Boys!” I whisper yell, their bickering immediately stopping though they glare at each other from the corner of their eyes.
I walk over the closet door, pulling it open slowly just enough to see a cop in the room writing down something on a notepad before leaving. I count to ten in my head before opening the door fully exposing the bloody mess of a crime scene from the walls to the bed the girl must have died in, considering the blood pool.
“‘Aren’t you glad you didn’t turn on the light?’” Sam reads off the wall, the words written in blood, “That’s right out of the legend.”
“Yeah, that’s classic Hook Man all right.” Dean acknowledges, he taps his nose in regard to the horribly strong metallic smell, “It’s definitely a spirit.”
“I don’t think i’ve ever smelt ozone this strong before” I add, scrunching my nose from the smell, Sam nodding in agreement.
Dean walks over to the window in the room, “Hey, come here. Does that look familiar to you?”
****
Outside again, gloves disposed of, we stare at a cross symbol with little t’s or x’s in each space, a symbol that dangled from the hook-hand the preacher from our research had worn. Also the same symbol Dean had found on the windowsill and written in blood on the wall.
“It’s the same symbol. Seems like it is the spirit of Jacob Karns.” Sam confirms.
“All right, let’s find the dude’s grave, salt and burn the bones, and put him down” Dean announces, going through the usual steps.
Sam reads from the yellowed paper in his hands “After execution, Jacob Karns was laid to rest in an Old North Cemetery. In an unmarked grave.”
“How fun and easy” I remark sarcastically.
“Ok. So we know it’s Jacob Karns. But we still don’t know where he’ll manifest next. Or why” Sam brings up.
“I’ll take a wild guess about why. I think your little friend Lori has something to do with this.” Dean comments, getting into the driver's side of Baby.
The bass pounds loudly, the sound thumping in my chest as the bright neon lights illuminate the drunken atmosphere of college students. I weave through the crowd to get back to the main room where Sam said to meet, having barely enough time to shower, change and take a nap before night fell again and the frat party started.
Suddenly an unfamiliar hand grabs hold of my wrist pulling me back towards them. I looked up at the guy who pulled me back, a blonde spiky haired college student with a red solo cup in hand looked down at me “Where you going, pretty girl?” he asks me his breath reeking of booze. He pulls me closer, my chest nearly flushed with his, I pull my head back at an awkward angle to get away from him as I pull my wrist away. This guy really represented every reason why I rarely, if ever, went to parties as a college student, “Oh you know tryna get back to my boyfriend!” I yell over the music, finally snatching my wrist free at the lie.
“Oh.” His face falls quickly turning around to head to some other girl, I roll my eyes before continuing my way down the hall and the stairs to the foyer.
“There you are!” Sam yells over the music as I approach him, Dean not yet in sight. “Sorry! A college boy stopped me!” I replied.
“Sorry, You alright?” Sam asked with eyebrows scrunched, he apologized to me as if he was the one to do it, ever the sweetheart. I nod my head in response just as Dean approaches, “Man, you’ve been holding out on me. This college thing is awesome!” he says immediately, winking and smiling at a girl that passes by. If this didn’t show the double standard between genders then I don’t know what will.
“This wasn’t really my experience” Sam answers
“Same here!” I add, recalling every ill memory of any parties I did go to.
“Nerds” Dean scuffs.
“Yeah yeah anyways Sam what did you find?” I ask getting back on topic.
“Yeah. It was bugging me, right? So how is the Hook Man tied up with Lori? So I think I came up with something.” Sam answers, unraveling a folded piece of paper he produced from his pocket.
Dean takes the paper reading the important facts, “1932. Clergyman arrested for murder. 1967. Seminarian held in hippie rampage.”
“There’s a pattern here. In both cases, the suspect was a man of religion who openly preached against immorality. And then found himself wanted for killings he claimed were the work of an invisible force. Killings carried out—get this—with a sharp instrument.” Sam explains
“What’s the connection to Lori?” Dean asks, face full of confusion.
“Dean. A man of religion…who openly preaches against immorality…you know Reverend Sorensen.” I clarify, a sudden look of understanding passes over Deans features. “Yeah except maybe this time, instead of saving the whole town, he’s just trying to save his only daughter” Sam adds.
“You think he’s summoning the spirit?” Dean counter.
“Maybe. Or, you know how a poltergeist can haunt a person instead of a place?” Sam asks.
“Yeah, the spirit latches onto the reverend’s repressed emotions, feeds off them, yeah, okay.” Dean mumbles.
“Without the reverend ever even knowing it.”
“Either way, you should keep an eye on Lori tonight.” Dean suggest. Sam nods in agreement, “What about you guys?”
Dean gets distracted by an attractive blonde by the pool table. I roll my eyes “We’ll go find that grave, do some digging and burning.”
****
In the dark of the night Dean and I search the large cemetery, our only light being our flashlights. He looks a little grumpy, probably because he couldn’t hook up with the many eligible bachelorettes.
I ignore his brooding, searching each gravestone for some sort of hint of him being buried here.
“Over here!” Dean calls out from a few feet away, I walk over to him seeing the same cross symbol we’ve been seeing engraved on the headstone. “Nice” I smile, putting my bag down and taking the shovel he handed to me.
I don’t know how much time goes by but we are most likely only a foot deep. Digging up a grave is hard.
“You know I read somewhere that digging up a grave can take up to like six to eight hours to complete.” I huff as I kept digging trying to make conversation.
“What kind of books do you read?” Dean exclaims, giving me a weird look as he places his shovel down to strip down to his T-shirt. I try to ignore how his muscles flex as he lifts his many layers off of him to combat the sweat he was building.
I shrug at his question, answering, “All sorts of things.” The conversation ends there as we keep digging away, the only sounds from us being huffing and grunts.
I start to take my tops off too, going down to the black lace cami I wore as an extra layer. No wonder they use a machine to do this now.
Hours must have passed before one of our shovels hit wood. His coffin. Dean and I speak at the same time our voices overlapping,
“Thank God”
“Hello preacher” Dean breaks open the casket more, the remains of bones lying there.
We climb out of the grave, dirt and sweat sticking to our clothes (so much for showering before). Dean looks especially good, sweat causing his light gray shirt to stick to his skin causing his muscles to be on display, his cheeks flushed from all his hard work. This should really be the last thing on my mind especially as we pour salt and lighter fluid on the corpse.
“Goodbye, preacher.” Dean throws the lit match into the grave, the bones and wood igniting into flames.
Dean and I walked down the hospital hall, Sam having called and told us to come to the hospital no other context other than he was okay and even that had to be pried out of him before he hung up.
I trail behind him as he tries to shove off two cops holding him back, “No, it’s alright, I’m with him. He’s my brother. Hey! Brother!” Although a little embarrassing he did get Sam and the sheriffs attention, “Let ‘em through” the sheriff announces with a careless hand wave.
The two cops haul off, “Thanks” Dean says, fixing his jacket as his brother approaches, “You ok?”
“Yeah.” Sam nods, walking back down the hall where we had come for some privacy.
“What the hell happened?” Dean asks through gritted teeth.
“Hook Man.” Sam answered plainly.
“You saw him?!” I exclaim.
“Damn right. Why didn’t you torch the bones?” Sam counters. “Hey!! We did!” I argue.
“You sure it’s the spirit of Jacob Karns?” Dean points out.
“It sure as hell looked like him. And that’s not all. I don’t think the spirit is latching on to the reverend.” Sam answered.
“Well, yeah, the guy wouldn’t send the Hook Man after himself.” Dean spoke.
“I think it’s latching onto Lori. Last night she found out her father is having an affair with a married woman.” Sam reports.
“So she’s obviously upset about it, the immorality around it, especially from someone who quite literally preaches about that sort of sin” I ramble on, “Wow that’s like the Scarlet Letter.”
“Yeah” Sam laughs at my reference, “And she told me she was raised to believe that if you do something wrong, you get punished.”
“Alright nerds, so she’s conflicted. And the spirit of Preacher Karns is latching on to repress the emotions and maybe he’s doing the punishing for her, huh?” Dean said.
“Right. Rich comes on too strong, Taylor tries to make her into a party girl, Dad has an affair.” Sam lists out.
“Remind me not to piss this girl off. But we burned those bones, buried them in salt, why didn’t that stop him?” Dean noted.
“You must have missed something.” Sam shrugged.
“Oh frick” I gasped at the sudden realization hitting me, “The hook. Except it wasn’t in the coffin.”
“Great, so if we find the hook…”
“We stop the Hook Man.” Dean finishes smiling.
****
Back in the same library as a couple days before we once again spent hours researching.
“Here’s something, I think. Log book, Iowa State Penitentiary”, Dean reads, “Karns, Jacob. Personal affects: disposition thereof.”
“Any mention of the hook?” I ask, looking up from my papers.
“Yeah, maybe” He begins reading again, “Upon execution, all earthly items shall be remanded to the prisoner’s house of worship, St. Barnabas Church.”
“Isn’t that where Lori’s father preaches?” Sam questioned. “Yeah” Dean confirmed, “Maybe that’s why the Hook Man has been haunting reverends and reverends’ daughters for the past 200 years.”
“But how do you miss a bloodstained silver-handled hook? Let alone in a church” I point out.
Dean shrugs, “Check the church records”
An hour or two later I came across the answer to my own question, I nearly knocked my chair over going to where the boys sat placing the clip of the newspaper down, “St. Barnabas donations, 1862, they received a silver-handled hook from the state penitentiary. It got reforged, melted it down into something else.”
“Alright, we can’t take any chances. Anything silver goes in the fire.” Dean said as he slammed the trunk shut, swinging the duffle on his shoulder. “I agree. So, Lori’s still at the hospital. We’ll have to break in.” Sam announces.
“Alright, take your pick.”
“I’ll take the house.” Sam answers pointing in that direction.
“Ok. Then you're with me Y/N” Dean smirks, swinging his arm around my shoulder pushing me closer to his side as we walk off in the other direction. “Hey Sam!” He calls out without halting in his steps, “Stay out of her underwear drawer!”
“You are disgusting” I laugh, poking his side as I speak.
****
“When someone comes back in the morning they are going to think they’ve gone crazy. I mean like imagine walking into a space you know well and suddenly only very specific items are missing like silver.” I comment as I throw more silver candelabras in the fire Dean had started in the basement's old heater thing.
“At this very moment that’s what you're thinking of?” Dean asks, raising an eyebrow at me with a smile. “I mean yeah…” I shrug.
“I got everything that even looked silver” Sam announces, coming down the stairs. “Better safe than sorry” Dean says, moving off to the side so his brother can throw his load of silver in.
Suddenly the floorboards above us creak, clear footsteps. Sam produces a gun from the back of his jeans heading up the stairs first, Dean and I following.
Up the slightly winding stairs and down a short hallway Lori sits in a pew alone. She was the source of the steps.
Dean shoves his brother forward towards the lone girl as he pockets his gun and grabs my hand leading us back down stairs. As we reach the basement I twirl towards him, “You think they’re gonna kiss by the end of all this?”
“If they haven’t already” He scuffs.
A few minutes later the quiet noise of a couple things hitting the ground sang from above us, “I swear if they are screwing upstairs-“ Dean complains looking up annoyed. Another thing hit the floor much harder, “Yeah Dean I don’t think that’s what’s happening” I say, pulling my gun back out Dean already ahead of me rushing up the stairs two steps at a time.
We sweep around each hall with no one in sight, Dean motions for us to split up. I nod, holding my gun tighter in front of me. Suddenly a yell and a gun goes off in the opposite direction from where I walked, I run towards the noise halting at the sight of Lori and Sam covering their faces on the floor up against a wall as Dean stood with his gun raised.
“You guys okay?” I ask lowering my gun slightly.
“Yeah” Sam nods, even as he holds his seemingly injured shoulder.
“Was that the Hook Man?” I question further trying to get caught up.
“I thought we got all the silver.” Sam announces instead, which was an answer enough.
“So did I” Dean adds
“Then why is he still here?” Sam exclaims, getting up from the floor.
“Well, maybe we missed something!” Dean yells looking around.
“Lori, where did you get that chain?” Sam looks at the girl's neck, a cross hanging from the chain.
“My father gave it to me” She answers confused.
“And did your father happen to get it from a church?” I ask very specifically.
“Yeah it was a church heirloom, he gave it to me when I started school.” She explains.
“Is it silver?!” Sam nearly yells.
“Yes!” She yells, Sam ripping the chain from around her neck just as a loud scratching noise echoes through the halls. The Hook Man nowhere in sight but the scratch evidence alone that he’s there, right near Sammy.
“Sam!” Dean yells throwing his rifle at Sam, he catches it throwing the necklace to his brother in turn. Dean runs off with it as Sam shoots at the scratching spot.
He tries to reload his gun just as the Hook Man appears in all his ugly glory, long greasy hair falling from a big black hat accompanied with a dirty black trench coat, he knocks the gun out of his hand. I pull the trigger, the rock salt launching from the gun and into the spirit causing him to disappear. I cock the gun ready to shoot again when he appears, except when he does his arms are raised in the air towards the sky, his hook melting to the floor, the iron dripping as the rest of his body burns into nothing.
“So you’re saying a man with a hook attacked you?” The cop asked me for the fourth time, scribbling something in his notepad. “Yes! Exactly, we fought him off as best as we could and then ran out here.” I explain, for once, truthfully to a cop. He looks like he’s about to say something when he looks back up just past my shoulder, I turn my head to see the sheriff who was talking with Dean make a hand gesture. I turned back to the cop in front of me, “Alrighty then, ma’am have a good one” he tilted his hat towards me walking away.
I walk over to Dean who’s leaning on the outside of Baby, his hands in his pockets, “You think they believe us?” he asked me. “No chance” I laugh, “They’ll probably chop it up to hysteria and crazy college students.”
He scuffs opening the back door for me, I get in smiling at him as he shuts the door and gets in on the driver side. He looks through the side mirror at his brother, sighing, “I wish things could be normal for him.”
“It won’t be for a while” I answer referring to the loss of Jessica. How could anyone move on from a loss like that?
Sam approaches the car getting in wordlessly, “We could stay.” Dean offers, Sam shakes his head no.
Dean sighs again, looking at me through the rear view mirror. I mouth ‘You tried’ to him with a sad smile.
He looks forward again with a slight frown on his face, putting the car in drive we head off.

Although it was supposedly the most happiest time of the year, Severus Snape was the definition of Grinch. His girlfriend, on the other hand, loved Christmas and loved the traditions of Christmas. People said opposites attract and they would be right, Y/N and Severus couldn’t be any more different.
She loved Christmas, he hated it, she was a ray of sunshine, he was like a rain cloud and the list goes on. It had taken a long time for people to realize that they were together, especially her friends. They were clueless to their friend’s relationship for almost a year until they saw the two kissing in the library. Remus was quick to ask her but was definitely the most supportive out of her friends.
As for Christmas, she had invited Severus to the Potter’s, with the permission of Euphemia of course, this year so he wouldn’t be alone again. Of course James and Sirius were groaning and complaining and dragging their feet but they knew it would make their friend happy. Lily and Mary were going so thankfully she wouldn’t be the only girl showing up.
The day came to show up at the Potter’s, Severus was nervous, he usually wasn’t bothered by being with her friends but he was meeting the woman who was like a mother to her and a man that was like a father to her. He wanted to make a good first impression, he had even washed his hair the night before.
The couple had walked up to the door, hand in hand, Y/N just letting them in claiming Mrs.Potter hates when she knocks on the door because she’s family. The first person to greet the couple was Remus who decided to do the teasing for once, “I see you’ve finally washed your hair Severus.” Y/N smacked her friend's arm before dragging her boyfriend to the kitchen to meet the matriarch.
“Is that my darling Y/N? Oh I’ve missed you dear! These boys have been driving me crazy!” She exclaimed as she pulled the girl into a motherly hug.
“I’ve missed you too! This is Severus, Sev, this is Mrs. Potter,” Y/N smiled widely as she introduced the two.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Potter. Y/N is always talking about you,” Severus said politely.
“It’s nice to finally meet you too! Y/N’s always doing the same, oh Sev did this today, Sev took me here, Sev and I did this, Sev helped me study. She never stops! Thank you for making my girl happy,” The matriarch replied, pulling Severus in for his own motherly hug.
“Well she makes me happy too. She means the world to me.” Her face went hot with the compliment as she hid her face in his shoulder. Just as Euphemia was about to embarrass the girl some more, Fleamont entered the kitchen.
“Y/N! I knew I heard your voice dear! How are you?”
“I’m great Mr. Potter! How are you?” She greeted the man with a kiss on the cheek.
“I’m doing well. I’m guessing this is Severus, I’m Fleamont, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
“Likewise Mr. Potter.”
Y/N had excused herself so the three of them could talk without her in the room, so she had made her way to Remus who was sitting on the sofa with his nose in a book. The two friends sat there in a comfortable silence until they heard stomping coming from the floor above. Looking at each other, they both knew it was James and Sirius.
As the two boys came down the stairs and entered the living room, Y/N gave them a short lived lecture about being nice to Severus and trying to make him comfortable whilst he was there. The boys couldn’t say no to her so they agreed to behave for once.
By the end of the night, Y/N had barely spent time with Severus, he was constantly stolen by one of the older Potters to chat and get to know him. But as they settled into their guest room until the new year, she finally had time to ask what they had talked about. He admitted that they were just really asking about his intentions with her, that he has to promise to always treat her right and if he even thinks about proposing, he has to ask them for permission too.
“It went better than you expected, right? There was no need to be nervous, Sev. I told you they’d love you,” She told him, “As for the marriage thing, they really want you to ask them for permission? That’s so sweet of them!”
“I already asked them and they are more than happy for us to get married,” Severus admitted after a beat of silence.
“You asked already? Are you serious?”
“No, I’m Severus,” He joked, “Kidding, but yes, I asked already because I am going to marry you. Not now but I will. You are the love of my life, no matter how different we are, always.”
“You are the love of my life, Severus Snape, always.”
