I know people aren't happy about it but Gojo's death made sense to some degree.

Gojo was primarily what the sorcerers had as their trump card. And he was filling that position since the very day he was born. His literal existence was enough to shift the scales of the jujutsu world. So much so that in order to restore order, the number of curses grew manifold in comparison.

Sukuna and Kenjaku being the main antagonists are dead. Which means the scale would be tipping in the other direction drastically. In hopes to attain equilibrium again, Gojo was bound to go.

Some might argue that killing him off wasn't necessary. The alternative of him losing six eyes was favoured and/or predicted by most of the fans. But his one purpose to the plot was being the OP character which if he wasn't fulfilling, again, he was bound to go.

Also, even if he got out alive, i wouldn't put it past people (any of the clans or curses) to kill him out of pure spite. Plus, we all know Gege just wanted a chance to get rid of him.
