Wait have I ever mentioned that the idea for The Greatest Show Unearthed AU part 2 was that the circus boys become littol guys and live with Jack?

He wakes up one day to little Henrik stabbing him in the face with a needle and humming to his littol self. The moment Jack moves, Henrik makes a run for it. He doesn’t make it far before Jack catches him. Jack has to have a bunch of bandaids on his face for the rest of the day

Jack tries to put the cookie jar on the top most shelf but Jackie and Chase are parkour experts and Jack finds an assembly line of Jackie dropping cookie bits down to the rest of them

JJ sleeps with BB a lot and sometimes Jack will pick BB up only to hear small screams as the littol boys fall out of BB’s hair onto the floor

They were mouse like at first, casting long shadows on walls as they scurried across the floor and spooking Jack, but then Jack finds them and now they live in a doll house

They like horror movies and Marv likes to make small explosions to scare the others while they’re watching. Anti likes to throw popcorn at the tv. It doesn’t ever make it far

i wanna get another longish fic or oneshot done and dusted! i know i yapped a lot ab fake grandson au when i was writing it but while it got tiring towards the end it was also REALLY SATISFYING so i want to replicate that this year 😌😌 if i’m ambitious, maybe even two!?

i am going to take this chance to talk about THREE okay so first of all. i did a poll last week and “iruma goes back to the human world” won. so thats one. im gonna do the au where iruma gets sent back with his memory wiped because he got outed (and the other two in the love trio follow). technically this ,, isn’t exactly new, but i don’t like how i wrote it so far so i think i’m gonna scrap the whole thing and start again lol.

next! miss laurence !! again i already wrote a littol bit but its not even that much so it totally counts as a new project !! i just wanna play with her and harcourt you know how it is. and i think the research will be very very fun. i may have to crack open some classics even heehee

finally! original fiction! ive done a bunch of planning and figuring out the worldbuilding blabla but i havent actually started it and anyway it’s about this guy who’s like., 30, and he ends up fusing himself with his pet goat in an awful accident. his old maid now has to try to get this reversed before he DIES of ORGAN DAMAGE. cue running around everywhere with a ten year old and a goat chimera.

mmm lets do another wip. i looove the httyd au it’s so funny. dragon kirio is ‘tormenting’ iruma who is just some poor sod living in a village. here’s the start (mind there’s a dead rabbit):

It’s a wonderful day, and Iruma is holding the regurgitated remains of a dead rabbit in his hands.

It was on his doorstep in the morning, the body headless and steam curling off the somewhat mangled flesh. The rabbit was a big one too — even with the damage, it’ll make for at least a week’s worth of stew, and he’ll be able to share it besides. 

He knows where the rabbit came from, of course. Or who, rather. He just doesn’t know where the thing went off to.

Iruma looks to his left, towards the houses a little ways off and closer to the heart of the village, and then to his right, where the Old Wood lies. The vague hope of spotting gleaming eyes or a flash of scale is dashed very quickly; it was a fruitless idea, anyhow, since any dragon worth its salt knows how to make a quick escape.

Azz in particular is of the opinion that it isn’t worth any salt at all, and sometimes Iruma would agree, but — he hefts the bedraggled looking rabbit in his arms. The dragon does make a compelling case for itself.

“Thank you!” he calls out in the general direction of the woods. There’s no visible response except for a sparrow startling away from the sudden noise. Iruma shrugs, secures his grip on the body, and plods round to the back of his house to prep it.

hey!! i’m having a little dilemma and i’ve followed you for so long now that i trust your judgement and reasoning, so i was hoping you’d be able to help,, you’ve helped me before when i was too nervous to not be anonymous so i’m back again 😼

it’s nothing serious by any means!! i’m just a fic writer,, smut being my jam 😎 although i don’t get a lot of chance to write between the lack of ideas for the people i feel i “should” be writing for (you’ll see what i mean in a sec) and getting ready to finish a levels n start uni,, still, i enjoy writing when i can! but i’ve always thought i should only write about fictional characters because they’re exactly that, yanno? but lately i’ve had ideas for real “celebs” (youtubers especially, some musicians,, maybe some actors too?), and i wasn’t sure if that’s kinda immoral or creepy,,, i don’t really know any of their stances on being written about except for one youtuber group who has a series of reading and “acting out” smutty fan fictions written about them, and they just laugh it off, so i figure it can’t be so bad, right?

i know quite a few people on here write for actual people (i cannae recall if you have but i thought i remembered something about tom hiddleston back in the day? apologies if i’m mistaken!!) and i enjoy those when they pop up, although i don’t necessarily search for them anymore.. so i suppose what i’m asking is- what do you think about it? is it immoral or can it be justified? because at this point i may have to write it either way and just not publish it, cos i’ve got ideas for these guys dribbling from my littol brain and out my ears 😭👹

That being said, I’d like to start with a disclaimer that my opinions regarding this delicate topic are only opinions — they are not facts nor laws that have to be abided — and the answer I’m about to give is in no way to shame any person or to cause any negativity towards any person at all; here we go, the only time I’ve written about real people was when I was younger, back in my One Direction Wattpad era when I “didn’t know better” and I have taken all of my works about them on that site down because, looking back, I’m no longer comfortable having had written about them, since they’re real people and not fictional characters who I can shove my “headcanons” into and act like they’re my own project. Again, this is only how I personally feel about the matter as I’ve grown and am no longer the person I was years ago. No one harassed me into taking my works down, it’s only that my perspective on things has changed.

The only Tom Hiddleston related fics I’ve written about are about Loki and occasionally the other character he’s portrayed, sir Thomas Sharpe, but not Tom himself. And I don’t think I’ll ever write anything about Tom. One person’s reaction upon “being written about in a fanfic” cannot be applied to every other person and I don’t think it’s right to assume everyone would be comfortable being written about in a fanfic, even if they might not ever see it. It still feels to me like a violation in some way? Especially since they didn’t consent to be written about.

I’m all for “write whatever you want” but in my humble opinion, this applies to fictional characters, not real people.

I don’t know if this is the answer you were looking for, and I apologize if it’s not, but as to whether or not it’s morally acceptable or if it’s justifiable, I don’t think I can give you an answer for that, since 1.) I’m not the one being written about, so it’s not my place to assume or assure how the people who were written about would feel, whether or not they’d be comfortable about it and 2.) I don’t think it’s a good idea to rely solely on other people’s advice to determine whether or not something is morally acceptable or if it’s justifiable, because at the end of the day, the answer you’ll get will only be opinions of the person you’ve asked, and you might just get the complete opposite answer from another person, because there’s no “right or wrong” answer but only opinions and each person will have different opinions. I can give you advice, what my options on the matter are, but the only person you should trust the most is yourself.

Again, these are just how I personally feel. I know a lot of people on here also write about real people and all that, and I want to clarify again that this is not to “attack” or to “shame” anybody. We all have our reasons, and… yeah, you do you. I will never judge anybody based on this matter, because it’s not my place. My opinions are that; I’m personally not comfortable reading or writing fics about people who aren’t fictional, but if you are, I will not shame or attack you for it, and I will absolutely not “distant myself from you because I think I’m morally superior than you” — like I said, we all have our own reasoning behind our decisions, and I will never act like I’m “morally superior” than anyone. author’s note YES i got inspired from that one particular scene from the Squid Game, can you tell i’m so invested in this kdrama? 😼 if you haven’t watched the series yet then this story may be confusing to you, but just for your reference, the scene i’m talking about is this one~ I also read a tweet that went something like ‘’how far would Thoma survive the Squid Game’’ and just wanted to make a littol angst for my boy. ah well, angst isn’t my expertise but nobody else would write my thoma angst brainrot for me so it’s up to me to torture myself into writing one ˋ△ˊ also another side note for those who haven’t watched it, player 067 is referring to the reader, while 240 refers to thoma. hope you guys enjoy this small one-shot! not spoiler free btw!!

blood drained from your face the moment you realised what thoma had done.

it took several more seconds of staring at the shiny marble by your feet before the reality finally set in. your lips gaped then closed in what seemed to be an attempt at saying something, but the only thing you came out with were shaky breaths and shivers from the mixture of emotion you were feeling. your head started spinning from anger, hurt, and panic as you continued glaring at the small marble that was laid upon you.

you couldn’t understand this. you couldn’t understand why thoma did what he did. your fingers curled into a fist as you held your fuming self from charging at him, not wanting to get into trouble with the pink guard watching your every action. though the sudden waves of emotion nearly drowned you in the heat of the moment, you somehow managed to utter a quiet moan of his name, still in disbelief and denial.

‘‘...why?’’

the golden haired boy merely chuckled. it was like he was unaware of the consequences his actions would bring upon himself. he seemed far too relaxed for someone who would eventually meet his demise in the span of five minutes. but thoma was fully aware of his fate. he knew what he was doing, which was why you were confused at his gesture. his hollow eyes continued to observe your statue-like figure as you let out a distressed sigh at the lack of response from him.

‘‘oops, i lost. too bad...’‘ thoma smiled humorlessly at the game outcome. he wanted to say more, but eventually backtracked, unsure of the reaction he would get from you. but then again, he wasn’t all that surprised when you abruptly grabbed the collar of his bomber jacket before slamming his much taller frame to the wall, eyes puddling with angry tears as you struggled to calm your ragged, uneven breathing-his own calm breathing was a stark contrast to yours. his tired eyes gazed down at your smaller figure, his expression looking unreasonably composed. he had been mentally preparing himself for his planned defeat since the past 30 minutes, after all.

‘‘the fuck are you doing?’‘ you hissed, gripping his collar tighter.

‘‘i lost. you won.’‘

‘‘why would you do this?’‘

‘‘hey, i promised to make you win. remember?’‘ thoma solemnly reminded you of his vow from the past game, which only enraged you further. yes, he was supposed to help you win. but not like this.

‘‘no. take another shot.’‘

‘‘we agreed to go all out in this round. there’s no ‘another shot’.’‘

‘‘for fuck’s sake, just do it.’‘

‘‘damn it, just let me lose in peace, will you?’‘ thoma snickered, hoping to ease the anxiety that ran through both of you.

‘‘DO YOU THINK I’LL BE HAPPY WITH THIS?’‘ 

upon seeing your outburst and violent crying, accompanied with bouts of yelling, it was only then that thoma realised how much toll this game was taking on you. his calm facade momentarily faltered the second he took a better look at your bloodshot eyes, your cheeks dampening as your sight of thoma got blurry from the tear build up.

the boy was silent, only letting out a faint sigh in despair. gulping, he took another glance at your face, briefly noting how delicate you looked crying like this. 

‘’i have nothing.’’

‘‘what?’‘

‘‘when you asked me what i would do with the prize money... i thought hard about it. i found nothing.’‘ he took your silence as a sign to continue.

‘‘you need to reunite with your brother. you have something to fight for. but i don’t. i have nothing to look forward to. my life holds no meaning. the one with a strong reason to get back out there... should be the one that wins.’’ thoma declared with an air of finality. there was no changing his mind from this decision that would ultimately cost him his life. your panicky state from just minutes ago turned numb as you took in his solemn words, though your lips still trembled out of frustration by this turn of events.

strangely, thoma felt comforted when you no longer tried arguing with him. at this point, both of you were just listening to his calm, whispery breath, accompanied by the occasional sniffles from you. thoma gently placed his palms on top of yours, loosening the tight grip you had on his jacket, his thumbs slowly rubbing your skin in reassurance. it was his way of telling you it’s okay, he will be alright, you will be alright.

‘’go win this thing for us, okay? find your brother, and visit disneyland with him... like you’ve always wanted to,’’ thoma added with a hoarse cracked voice and a gloomy smile, tiny droplets of tears brimming at his lower eyelash as he started losing his composure the more time passed.

it wasn’t until the announcement of the game coming to its end that he finally let go of your wrists, as one of the pink guards that stood by started grabbing your arm, leading you away from the game. away from him.

you took heavy steps towards the exit, your movement slow and disoriented while your weary brain was still processing the abruptness of the situation. why must it all come down to this? you were supposed to be teammates. you were supposed to be fighting against other teams, not against each other. it wasn’t supposed to end like this.

‘‘oi, y/n,’‘ thoma called out one last time. this had you stopping in your track, but you didn’t dare to look back at him, knowing that you won’t be able to handle whatever sight you would be facing behind you.

with a shaky voice, thoma forced himself to put on a bright smile as he uttered his last words. 

‘’thank you for playing this game with me.’’

it was silent.

then gunshot ensued.

the immediate announcement of player 240′s elimination following the gunshot was the nail of finality that needed to be punched into you for you to finally be able to continue your walk towards the exit. 

it was thoma’s first and last time saying your name. your name had never sounded better than when it left his lips, but the cheerful boy you befriended two days ago was no more. if only you turned around to face him for the last time, you probably would have been more heartbroken had you realised that thoma died smiling at you. as much as you wanted to forget this particular event, you knew that his mellow voice calling out for you will be etched into your memories eternally.

Timmothy massaged their temples as she sat on the couch. It had been a stressful day at work that started to give them a migraine, to only come home to the chaos of the littles poor attempt to try and make themselves a treat. There were cracker crumbs everywhere, along with a broken jar of cheese dip, and the jar of half-finished peanut butter had been cleaned out. All of the littles were filthy and they tracked their grime everywhere.

Their headache had evolved into a full migraine after cleaning the kitchen, vacuuming the entire apartment, giving the littles a bath, and trying desperately to try and get peanut butter off the couch cushions.

And now they were laying out on the couch, the littles being put to bed early and all of the lights were off. Timmothy groaned in pain as her head pounded, the only sound was her sound machine set on the lowest volume so they didn’t go stir crazy from complete silence. Then she heard a little noise. Picking up her head she could make out a form of a little in the darkness.

“Is everything ok?” They asked, and the little one approached her, and they could see it was Red. He looked nervous, almost scared as he approached Timmothy. Timmothy quickly sat up, “Is everyone ok Red?” They asked worried, Red never came to them alone unless it was for another little. Even after a few weeks of living with them, Red was still skittish around her, so to see him alone after dark by himself meant that something was wrong.

But the little shook his head no, taking a few more steps towards them. Standing at their feet they didn’t look her in the eye, but he squeaked something. Timmothy couldn’t understand the words any of the littles said, but she recognized the tone he used was the same whenever the littles acted or seemed remorseful.

“What are you sorry for Red?” They asked. And Red looked up at them, a little confused as he pointed to the kitchen. It was rather obvious now to Timothy, remembering the mess they caused. And realizing it, she gave Red a warm smile, “Thank you for apologizing, Red. And I forgive you, I know none of you meant to make such a mess. And I’m sorry if I worried any of you when I came home.” They smiled warmly, and Red seemed both relieved and confused. Tears sprang up as he stared at her in confusion.

“Are you ok Red?” Timmothy immediately asked, offering her hand to pick him up. Which he immediately accepted. The little was still tearing up, as he clung to their thumb as she brought him to her lap, where he then clung to their sweater. “What's wrong?”

Red looked up at her, making little eeps, his voice shaking as if he was cold, or scared. Timmothy felt their heart hurt, “Did you think I was mad?” They asked softly, and Red hesitantly nodded his head yes. “Were you worried that I would yell at you?” They whispered and Red nodded again, crying into their sweater.

“Oh buddy,” they cooed, rubbing the little’s hair to calm him. “I’m not mad. I’m so sorry that you thought I was. I’m so so sorry that you were so worried. I would never yell at any of you out of anger. Never.” She reinforced. Red’s crying had slowed, and he was leaning against them as they petted his hair. Red looked so tired, he must've been so worried.

“This whole thing was my fault, I shouldn’t have left you guys alone for so long. I’ve been thinking about getting you guys a babysitter,” They felt him tense a little at the idea of a new person, “But I know you guys don’t like new people.” Red nodded his head vigorously, “So how about this,” Timmothy proposed, “I’ll find someone who is nice and patient. And then you guys will decide whether you like them. And if you guys do, we can keep them, and if you don’t, I’ll find another person. How does that sound?”

Red hummed in thought, giving it some time to think before nodding his head yes. And Timmothy smiled, “Great! We can start our search later this week, how does that sound?” Red smiled back and gave a little ‘eep’.

“Fantastic, now let's get some sleep.” Timmothy smiled as she picked up the little, and they took him to the bedroom. All of the other littles in their usual cuddle pile in the soft bed in their box. Tucking the tired little in with the other. Timmothy smiled as Orange and Blue moved in their sleep to snuggle up with him. Red blinked tiredly, giving a little wave and a soft, "eep," goodnight.

"Goodnight Buddy," They responded as Timmothy got into their own bed, and drifted off to sleep.

im unsure as to how, but it happened when he was an older teen/young adult. a simic scientist either picked him (read: kidnapped), or remus volunteered (potentially to escape court life, unaware what exactly the experiment was going to do to him physically

bc also, remus and roman are royalty

so like. how best to get at the nobes/royalty/rich famous people than by turning their kid into a monster

wait, wait, wait, because i'm lowkey a sucker for this trope, but i'm not sure if it fits Remus: the experiments left him with some fairly significant physical pain/uncontrolled magical reactions. through some combo of trying to deal with that and trying find a cure for his pain, he keeps like....absolutely wrecking random towns on accident but also deliberately wrecking certain places looking for either a) vengeance on the guy(s) responsible or b) someone who can make the pain stop

Mr. I-Don't-Have-Feelings sees the poor dude in pain and also Roman in emotional pain from seeing his brother in pain and is absolutely like "i must resolve this like right now, immediately" because he definitely doesn't hate seeing his friend suffering, or his friend's brother whom he's just met

he definitely doesn't relate at all to the idea of someone else shaping your body and absolutely does not sympathize with Remus's plight

i was thinking the grappling thing and either manta glide or the ability to breathe underwater for the simic stuff, but like he doesnt have control over the tentacles yet?

so like, simic hybrids are usually created when they're adults. but what if the true bbeg decided to go younger to see what would happen, and thats why remus has chronic pain and stuff

the parents made Logan a barbarian in hopes that him and Roman would be safe

okay. so logan was created by the king with the sole purpose to take remus' place as romans brother/companion, and to be his like guard? protector? and fight, but logan wants to be an alchemist and study shit

he.....his first operative is protect (specifically protect Roman)

Anyway Yea so Logan created by royal family in place of Remus which created angst between the two “brothers” and identity issues in Logan. Their arcs are learning how to healthily process emotions plus Roman apology and Logan commits to alchemy

So big question: why did virge make a deal?

and instead of janus like killing him or whatever the fae do to people who break the rules of dealing with the fae, jan was like. hey. i'll give you magic, but do what i say

Janus is lawful neutral, but leans towards being selfish

hes self serving, but he has a strong set of morals and rules he follows

Tho I want to Virgil to also not be pushover so let’s say loophole happened and Jan has to stay with virge (hence why Jan is a part of the party)

okay so a couple of the rules are dont give a fae your true name and don't try to figure out their true name

So

what if virgil accidentally gave up part of his true name, and got stuck in the deal, but then figured out janus' true name

so in the same vein that janus had control over virgil, virgil now has more control over janus

he still gets his magic from janus, so he cant break free completely, but virgil has more freedom and can occasionally tell janus what to do or when to shove it

there should a running gag where virge can explain how he learned Jan’s true name but Jan can make something loudly censor him every time

(he learned his name bc once he heard janus practicing his evil genius voice and talking to himself in the mirror and janus said his true name)

so maybe janus sent virgil on the quest to protect a town or stop something related to remus, but virgil dragged him along

he might just be trying to protect a town thats close to a ley line, or something fae-related, and they just happen upon the whole thing

janus is selfish. but lawful vs chaotic is where he comes through, in morals vs doing whatever. janus has a strong set of loyalties to the fae, and to himself

so like....Remus is just too close to Jan's stuff and he wants to take him down

Virgil is just like....exhausted and said "fine, but if i gotta do this, you're coming, too"

or at least figure out a way to protect his place, even if it doesnt mean fully taking out remus. just moving him would work for jan

so !!! i was kind of trying to relate it to the boys vampirism and. love of black clothes sbhsjbshjs but no. similar to the title, they. literally live in darkness because of not being able to go into the sun and because of the few lights in the lair but there’s also a sort of duality where being vampires in an internal darkness??? like. each of the boys takes heavy advantage of the benefits of being undead but i can’t imagine it’s without its faults outside of the lack of sunlight and such. i’m sure there’s a kind of uh. monster complex that follows it, especially with the way outsiders view them, which certainly fits with the song’s vibe of being washed with this sort of sensory overload to color and earning weird looks for it

first of all, there’s a giant ass jim morrison poster in the lair therefore the boys definitely listen to the doors (if not idolize jim) so jot that down. but also !!! it has very Them vibes !!! i think the storm effects definitely relate to boys in how storms create a darkness that is soothing in its own way, and comes on strong, just like the boys’ presence. and. technically they Are killers on the road that Will kill a sweet family sbhjsbshjsb but no most of all the !!! “into this house we’re born // into this world we’re thrown” and !!! the found family that the boys have going. like, if you look at. vampirism as the house they have LITERALLY been born into it and been thrown into a whole new world, depending on each other for comfort and pleasure !!! oh also. they ride motorcycles so they’re also literal riders sbhjsbshjs (fun fact, according to genius lyrics: apparently it was the last song jim recorded before he died a few weeks later 😳)

whole jim morrison poster and listening to the doors reasoning is sustained. HOWEVER for the rest of reasoning… perhaps it’s more straight up 95060 than anything but sbhsjbsshj the whole woman walking in and out of the audience’s life is very symbolic of michael being in and out with the boys, never really deciding whether he wants to fully join them and straining. all of his relationships with that indecision and sitting on the picket fence (those who sit on the picket fence are impaled by it). although, it could also be partly symbolic of that indecision, as he does find Some charm in the boys’ lifestyle and keeps finding himself drawn back enough to even consider partaking in it. also, if you wanna go the parko route, paul loves marko madly enough to go after the frog bros personally for killing him <3

i am. blanking on how to tie it in other than being on the movie’s soundtrack (yes i avoided it and people are strange until the very end of making the playlist, but one of the evils got me clearly— have always ADORED people are strange though). but. i guess you can make the case that the song is full of innuendos and some scenes, like the feeding scene, are lowkey horny sbsjhbshjsbs and YES it’s the aerosmith version instead of the run dmc one because. i prefer this one and it’s my silly little playlist <3

technically the boys never Left town but !!! *christopher walken voice* Boys !!! them cast ARE crazy and they’re ALWAYS dressed to kill, ready to spill some blood and pick a fight !!! yeah no it’s just a very fun song that i think really works to. represent their crazy lifestyle and infamy around town due to causing trouble !!! and you can almost say that in this scenario star is the girl who used to dance a lot and slapped the shit out of someone <3 just girlboss moments <3

hehehe… this started as the. desire to add more rush to the playlist for my own amusement but the more times i listen to it, the more i’m like “!!! it actually fits”… like. xanadu here is meant to a sort of utopia that’s long searched for, partly BECAUSE of the promise of immortality which !!! the boys have (unless. harmed in one of the ways at the end of the movie) because of their vampirism. like even if we don’t know the exact reasons they got turned, they all still, mostly indirectly probably, sought out that same principle. And the dining on honeydew and drinking the milk of ‘paradise’ is similar to their thrill-seeking tendencies and general enjoyment of being unable to die, leaving them to enjoy their undead lives to the fullest. not to mention, in [b part 2] (as genius refers to it) there’s talk of many, many years passing and waiting for the world to end, which we know there’s been quite a few years in between the boys getting turned and the movie, as well as i’m sure they sit back and wait on Some apocalypse, if not just to watch the world burn. in writing this, i’ve ALSO realized how it can be considered very Michael; he didn’t exactly seek this life out but he found it and indulged, only to be that “mad immortal man” towards the end of the song

i just van halen is neat sbjshbsjsh and would definitely be something the boys would actually listen to hsjbshjsb i don’t Necessarily think vampires are in any way tied to the devil but. here it’d be more like a metaphor of “taking a walk on the wild side” if you wanna call it that; also, they all truly live their lives like there’s no tomorrow (not that they have to worry about death until the very end), have stolen a lot of things just to get by (probably in life AND death), don’t bode well with the ‘simple’ life (likely including the idea of a nuclear family like max proposed) because of it’s lack of pleasures, and don’t exactly have any “love [that] you’d call real” unless you read into the subtext

And the law man serving as an allegory to all of the people, including the frogs and grandpa, that want them dead for being vampires, with the bounty to be rewarded being the ridding of their trouble from santa carla

OK !!! this is the song i’m the MOST excited to explain !!! right off the bat, moving pictures as a whole is an IMMACULATE album, absolutely love it. right so !!! this song literally SOUNDS like it belongs on the movie soundtrack; it has the same overtones and sounds as cry little sister and it’s just !!! and with the title, a witch hunt is BASICALLY what sam + the frogs went on in search of the lose boys, relying on little else but hearsay and catching glimpses at what was happening to michael, “confident that their ways are best” and moving along like a mob of three to get to the bottom of it. “features distorted in the flickering light // faces are twisted and grotesque” is very reminiscent of the faces the lost boys pull when they’re about to attack, and “they say there are strangers who threaten us” is symbolic of them being outsiders/outcasts that make everyone uncomfortable, even if You aren’t going to be their next victim. “the righteous rise with burning eyes” AND “quick to judge, quick to anger // slow to understand // ignorance and prejudice // and fear walk hand in hand” can apply to any number of characters, particularly the mains who are all pitted against each other, the humans fighting for their lives and the vampires fighting for their Right to live, neither taking into consideration the other’s perspective. i just… ADORE this song…

this rush song actually went on before the others shbsjsbshj but !!! it still fits just as well (certainly better than red barchetta)… the movie all takes place on the fringes of the city, “in between the bright lights // and the far unlit unknown”, and while it’s not exactly in the suburbs, there’s still little comfort to soothe the restless dreams of youth. there IS a drawing like moths into the city, for both the emersons and the lost boys, which is what ends up bringing all of them together, although it starts are cruising for action just to feel the living night. and just !!! NOBODY fits in !!! if you take the movie title as them being Lost instead of an allusion to peter pan, then you get slapped with thinking about what actually makes them lost and how they don’t conform in any way, shape, or form to just about. anything. and !!! the emersons are new, which immediately puts them at a social disadvantage, but they Also don’t seem too terribly great at making new friends in general so !!! “nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone”!!!

i just love this song for whatever reason. and i think the allusion to magic to very fitting for the hallucinations that david gives michael, putting a sort of magic spell on him if you want to look at it that way. not a lot of silk and satin going gone but plenty of leather and probably some lace in there somewhere ( ;o] ) … also michael DOES heat up like a burnin’ flame whenever his name is called and the situation with the boys just keeps going round and round with no exact end in sight, only the calling of desire

I /loved/ like every scene with Sasha, that's literally no surprise. But I'm soooo happy we got to see her have some interests outside of what you'd expect from her with her herbology skills.

Max falling asleep like a littol baby was adorable af, literally everytime hes seen asleep hes like a little angel, I literally can't. I'm glad he also learned a lesson at the end of the episode, heres to hoping /that/ carries on and isnt forgotten (*coughcough*nurf*coughcough*)

And as much as I LOVE the main trio, Max going out with other characters was refreshing to see, like that scene in parents day or that episode where he and d//lph were friends?? (Even tho it reminded me more of lois and stewie in that one episode of family guy)

Pikeman was bearable I'm this episode!! I'm glad we got to know a bit more about him, too!! I feel like hes got a lot of pressure on him because he's senior patrol leader so him needing validation was kinda sweet

The backgrounds in this episode??? SOOOO pretty. I love the artists. The lighting was so good, and as someone who's been trying to work on her background skills (if you follow my personal and check out my art tag you'll know what I'm talking about) I look at a lot of the coloring for inspiration

I honestly thought something was going to happen to Sasha in this episode. Like a plot twist where she had glasses in the box of confiscated items, or that her hair was going to catch fire in the ending, I dont know if I could say I'm disappointed more than I'm/surprised/, but then again, there are like?? 10 more episodes left I think?? If we get another flower scouts scene/episode, theres a chance the "our appearance changed" pattern will continue

So like, theres still the masha shaped elephant in the room y'all are waiting for me to scream about. Honestly?? I love masha to bits, it's a comfort ship for me and junk, yadayada, but I'm glad they just had /BASIC/ fuel for shippers and nothing serious. I still want a full on sasha redemption, she and the other scouts need to apologize to Nikki BIG TIME.

I honestly dont even /want/ masha to become canon as a couple. A few cute banters ar eachother and compliments?? That's chill. But then itd get... annoying?? Its be unnecessary, unless it was for a plot for an episode or even an arc (which I'll have to discuss on a later post)

Overall, I /really/ love this episode. Leigh did an amazing job writing it and I can easily say it's on my top 10 episode list (maybe top 5??) And shes become one of my favorite writers jdjbdf
