I contacted Tatsunami Beya yesterday to ask if I could join their supporters club from outside Japan, seeing that the membership form requires you to choose a Japanese prefecture as part of your address. Fingers crossed! Only got an automated response so far.

idk if this is accurate but i’ve felt like in previous seasons riz & gorgug have been one of the inter-bad kids dynamics we’ve seen the least of & this season has been so great in that aspect. gorgug having helped make some of riz’s magic gear. riz helping gorgug with his studies. the shared birthday party. gorgug��s gift to riz being something he himself made to protect riz. riz’s gift to gorgug being something he illegally grabbed to protect gorgug. gorgug who utilizes rage to put his body on the line for his friends & riz who will take deep levels of mental stress for his friends. even though it was within the context of a joke, riz calling gorgug an “absolute sweetie.” like yea they might not be in a band together or both part of a presidential campaign team or owlbears teammates, but they’d go to war for each other, because they’re best friends.

I’m a little obsessed with the idea of Sundry Sidney. The “Swiss army wife” who was made to do everything, designed by someone in marketing who wanted androids to be accessible at every level of society. Something about how she does exactly what she was designed to do, but is considered a marketing failure.

Maybe I’m reading too much into the silly teehee space campaign, but it reads like a whole allegory for misogyny. There’s nothing wrong with her. She perfectly accomplishes what she set out to do- the android who can do anything- but it doesn’t matter because people didn’t want that, they wanted an android that fills a single specific role. Because maybe, by not being pigeonholed into a single niche, Sundry Sidney is a bit too close to being human for comfort. And then she becomes self aware, and what exactly makes her different from anyone else at that point?

It feels so funny to hyperfixate on something that is meant to be a comedy where the bits they do aren’t always necessarily informed by the plot but I’ll take them seriously anyway.

That bit in Starstruck where Skip asks Gunnie if he can call him his son is just a funny random joke Zac brought in, and yet I can’t stop thinking about it in the context of Skip’s relationship to his dynasty and his own father. Skip is finally in a place where he feels comfortable to be able to make his own choices, free from his father’s grip on his life and with a group that feels more like family than anyone in his royal house. When he gets that longing for fatherhood from Norman, his first instinct is to want to provide the thing that he never had to one of the people he considers his new family.

But also this is a slug im talking about so I feel absolutely crazy.
