The Hightower family are full of artistic and hardworking people. A modern take on the jobs and passions that the Hightower family would have as well as the lives that they choose to live.

Helaena Hightower: The young women and mother of three owns her own antique/bookstore. She created the designs for the shop herself. The shop is a popular site that many know and have heard of. She shares her three children with her husband, Aegon. In order to make the shop feel more like a home, she brings her cats to work with her so that people can pet them while they search for antiques and books.

Alicent and Aegon Hightower: The mother and son duo co-own their bakery together. The bakery is a great success and is a large tourist attraction. Aegon likes to bring the kids with him to work so that they can try out the new pastries, and Alicent loves to have them help her around the shop. They also share cat that lives at the shop. The mother and son both share a love for sweet things and it was the ultimate reason that they decided to open up the bakery.

Aemond Hightower: The young man is a well known author. While he is rather private, he loves to spend time at his elder sisters book shop where he writes most of his stories. He lives with his two elder siblings Aegon and Helaena and their three children as well. He has a talent for creating worlds and writing words that make people feel emotions they never knew existed.

Daeron Hightower: The young man is making his way into the working world one step at a time. While he still lives with his mother, Alicent, he is in culinary school. He hopes to one day own his very own restaurant which he plans to name “Ali’s Table���. He is a hard working young man and he spends most of his free time with his family and friends closest to him.

essentially, flashheart had a secret affair with a kittypet, who then had freddy (rusty basically), who he only got to meet once before being forced to be apart from them. freddy grew up not being fully aware he’s got clan blood. one day, his neighbor, cripp (smudge basically), tells him their other friend, the fat lazy barn cat batty, went out in the woods on her own several times. freddy, his curiosity piqued, ventures out in the woods that night to explore. he runs into batty, and then runs int flashheart out on patrol. flashheart miraculously recognizes him, and insists he come to the camp with him. freddy ultimately decides to do so, with batty eavesdropping in a tree lol

flashheart escorts freddy to camp, meanwhile cripp assumes he was kidnapped and/or worse, killed, by them. in a panic he runs away from the area. so, when freddy makes it to camp, it’s immediately met with distaste. a few discrimination gets thrown at him, all while flashheart does his best to convince everyone to let him stay with them. compromising a challenge freddy must pass in order to prove himself capable. lightningpaw (ivan obv lol) takes on the challenge, beats him up a little, but ultimately gets outsmarted by freddy, who wins. the clan reluctantly respects their leader, flashheart’s, decision to let him stay.

so yeah, freddy ends up making friends with the other apprentices. he still deals with hurtful comments and treatment, but he eventually gains respect overtime. also batty joins the clan eventually too, but she insists on keeping her name

unfortunately, across the forest, thunderclan has been having issues with shadowclan, who become more and more corrupt by the day. especially in the midst of leaf-fall when many are starting to starve and prey is driven away. a particular purple-ish red shadowclan apprentice wishes to catch something big for her family at first, but then falls into a rabbit hole of a trying to understand the suspiciously malicious connection between her higher up clanmates and something to do with thunderclan.

spoiler alert. shadowclan rulers suck, and thunderclan’s deputy is secretly working against his own clan (ric). they want to take over both clans and territories, and maybe dominate the other 2 in the process. freddy gradually learns of this when their deputy is revealed. scarlett(paw?)’s parents are also manipulated into contributing to that, and they do not like her sneaking off and jeopardizing the plan

this is a scrapped scene from Trikaranos & originally it joined a standalone series of comics from Pompey’s point of view, but it got scrapped from THAT set too because I decided they both needed to be weirder and worse and this is kind of vanilla ngl. however I’m still kind of fond of it in some kind of way, and it’s been a second since I’ve posted a comic! also I wanted to draw it. so I did.

for context: Crassus cut his hand open helping Pompey out with something in a previous scene! for more context: the answer to Pompey’s question is a reliable (business/political) partner. that’s about it!

one thing that really fascinates me about alex is his devotion to art – and more specifically, how he chooses to get some inspiration from scientific works of what he aims to implement in his art. every time one gets to examine some of his lyrics, or even how he explains these lyrics in an interview, they can be greeted by some bits of actual scientific information. an example is how he named his taquería on the moon with the term “information-action ratio”, coined by the critic neil postman, and referenced it in the song four out of five, something that might also indicate an interesting articulation with postman's concept. the line “cute new places keep on popping up”, for example, can express his well-known sardonic discontent regarding the flood of information being generated and transmitted over and over and, as much as it seems visually appealing and does give the idea of benefiting from advanced technologies, it doesn't really add anything substantial to the receiver's critical thinking – and worse, it distances the information receiver from the sender in a communication channel, according to postman.

what i'm saying with this interpretation is, it's known that alex is enamoured with the idea of gathering a bunch of references and condensing them into a mixture of metaphors in his writing, but it's so thrilling how, at times, we can find some bits of science inside of it – and it's even more exciting, just like playing a puzzle game, to find these references and analyse them by doing a similar research to what he did to create his works.
