I always forget how scary it is at night time at my childhood home (it’s a school now) that’s set far back in the forest & away from any roads
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like I grew up here but I can’t go there alone at night because it feels like the killer could be hiding anywhere. I don’t think I was scared when I lived there? I mean I knew it was haunted but I was never scared of the ghosts & that’s not what I’m scared of now. it’s more that it’s isolated & being there alone at night feels like a scene from a slasher & I know it doesn’t get locked so I always imagine the killers is waiting around every corner or crouching in the weeds or woods outside. maybe it’s scary because no one lives there now….

I have an opinion about Holly Kujo and I’m a little scared cause I dont know the Jojo fandom enough to come in with what I think is a hot take.
I’ve noticed that, in fanworks, a lot of people portray Holly as tougher than she is in the show. And it makes sense, cause the idea of her being so weak-willed that she couldn’t handle a stand when even baby Shizuka could manifest one is kinda bs and a testament to Araki not being very confident with writing women at the time (thank GOD he got better though, so, so much better).
But. What always gets me is when her relationship with Jotaro is written to be a little more standard, still loving but with the child having a healthy fear of their mom’s anger- unlike what we see in Stardust, with him constantly being a brat, calling her “bitch” and her shrugging it off with an “Okay!”. And also him getting himself thrown into jail while she still can’t bring herself to get mad, just upset. And that’s a very fun play on them too, but I just worry that people who default to this dynamic for Jojo and Holly might not see how the canon characterization of their relationship is interesting in its own right.
Because even tho Holly being a doormat is a creative choice born from Araki pussying out of giving her a stand, it doesn’t change the fact that once he made that choice he gave it great importance. I think the fact that Holly’s idea of supporting her son is just accepting everything he does without any anger, is central to their relationship. It’s how, despite having a mother who loves him unconditionally, Jotaro is still a very troubled teen and emotionally withdrawn. Though it’s easy to blame it on Sadao’s implied absence, or troubles in school, we don’t have a lot of textual evidence for that.
But kids who are raised without at least some semblance of discipline and structure typically stop seeing their parents as authorities, and most importantly, protectors. A more textually-backed explanation for why Jotaro is always acting tough and independent is because he doesn’t have any adults in his life who he would trust to help him. He loves his mom, he traveled the world to save her life, but while doing that he saw himself as her protector, not the other way around, not the way it typically should be.
Think about, for example, how the adult he mouths off to the least in his life is probably Avdol. And I think part of that is because Avdol walked into that police station, took one look at Jotaro, and instantly clocked everything I just said. Because while Holly and Joseph tried to to get him out with simple words (and for Holly, tears), Avdol was there to force him out. And at first Jotaro says, “If he tries to force me out, I’ll just stay here even longer”, but Avdol doesn’t give him a choice. And he doesn’t win by overpowering him (if he had, I dont think he’d have gotten the same positive result, I am not pro setting troubled teens on fucking fire) but he outsmarts Jotaro and doesn’t quit the fight until his goal is achieved. He stays in control of his emotions when talking to him, and proves himself to be someone strong and assertive. So later, on the trip to Cairo, Jotaro is more willing to rely on him than he is to rely on his own grandpa. (+, it’s a similar thing with Kakyoin, who he trusts almost more than anyone else, because he saw Kakyoin’s will and power first-hand when they met, and left with the lesson that Kak is someone he can rely on to protect of both himself and Jotaro. Someone with strong convictions, but most importantly, willing and capable of clashing with Jotaro if necessary.)
All this to fucking say. In a world in which Jotaro was raised to fear his parent’s reprimands (and I don’t mean fear to an unhealthy amount, an abusive amount), he would act very differently than he does in the show, and his relationships to other characters would probably look very different. Holly’s personality and parenting might seem like it was an afterthought to Araki, but I think he truly did take great care in making it consistent with her son’s character. She is a very loving mom, who is very loved in return, but what I think a lot of people perceive as a flaw in her writing is actually just a flaw in her character, with narrative weight and interesting consequences. And I’m not sure how many people are really aware of that.

Drunk Confessions
Prologue
Human Alastor x Male Reader
I’m spitting random shit outta my ass and this is one of them.
Tumblr media
(LOOK AT THIS MAN! MY EYES ARE BEING BLESSED!)
———————————————————————
You and Alastor were good friends. The best even! You too have been growing up together and both your parents have loved seeing you both do everything together. Whenever someone would push him down you would be at his side helping him, same went for you. He chose to be more violent though.
Even when you both were teens that didn’t plan on splitting you up. Though when you did have to move back to Europe, you and him realized that you wouldn’t be able to talk.
So you just declined moving back there all together. Your parents kept trying to say that it was for the better and you’ll visit soon but that didn’t convince you. It took 18 hours, with the help of Alastor’s mom, to get you to leave.
Tears ran down your face as you remembered all the good times with him.
-
“AHEM-!” Someone snapped you out of your thoughts. “HM- Yes Mimzi?” You chuckled at the embarrassment, that was probably like the fifth time today. “How about you go talk to him. You’ve been gawkin’ at him ever since he walked in!”
She did have a point. “No thank you, Mimzi.” You turned your attention back over to the bartender. “Another drink please Husker?” He rolled his eyes and fetched you another drink. “Thank you~!” You sang out to him.
“Look..you high haven’t talked ever since you moved.” Mimzi said to get your attention turned back towards her. “Just try and talk to him again?” She spoke again, rising an eyebrow at you
“I would love to..I truly would, but it’s been so long and..WHERE are you going?!” She chuckled as she got up from her chair. Her height being very noticeable as her flapper dress straightened out from being seated.
“If you’re not gonna do it, then I am sweetheart.” She waved her hand at you as she moved closer to your old friend. “Here’s your drink..” You quickly got up from your chair, ‘shit!’ But when you got there it was too late. You quickly turned your heals and walked back to your spot.
“Thank you again for the drink Husk.” You snatched the drink that he healed and left to the back room of the speakeasy. God, you hated when people fought your own battles for you. You get that they’re trying to help but damn.
You closed the door with a nice click noise. A soft sigh slipped past you, taking a nice sip from the whiskey that you so desired. The room that you were in held all kinds of liquor. Starting from whiskey and ending at wine.
‘Looks like I can drink myself to death over here.’ You quickly downed the rest of your drink like it was a shot and grabbed a similar bottle to the Whiskey you liked. Opening it with a nice pop sound, you started refilling your glass with it.
The smell of liquor quickly filled the room. A satisfied hum came out from you as you decided to drink your way till you were drunk. Even though that was pretty risky but you didn’t care.
“Anyways Alastor, sweetheart, how have you been doing?” Mimzi smiled at Alastor as her and him were walking back got the area that she was last seen with you. “Oh I’ve been doing quite alright! The radio broadcasts have been just swell!” He chuckled out in his normal happy self.
Mimzi made a lip smack sound, “Well isn’t that just nice. I’ll be happy to let you know that..where the fuck did he go.” She blinked at your seat a couple of times before turning around to face the taller person.
She chuckled out loud while tinkering with her gloves. “Okay look. I didn’t lie to you but he did disappear.” Her voice wasn’t that confident. Since Husk was right there he scoffed, calling her out on her fake bullshit. “You were the one who fucking scared him off, son of a bitch.” He mumbled the last part so the both of them wouldn’t hear.
“What did I do to scare him off?!” Mimzi started getting defensive. “You called over the very fuckin’ person that he didn’t want to talk to.” Husk blinked at Mimzi before heading away. Alastor just stood there smiling before moving towards Husk.
“Hello old pal.” Alastor gave Husk one of the fakest smiles know to him. “The fuck you want.” Husk turned around so he could clean some bottles. “I just have a favor.” Alastor chuckled. “No need to get all pissy now. I just want you to know where you saw him go!” Alastor said taking a glass of Whiskey.
———————————————————————
I’m going to write a part 1. For right now I guess this is a prologue! FEAST MY LOVELY CHILDREN>:)

Clementine: [staring at the screen in disbelief] This doesn't make any sense. She won… it's official. Kirsten: [with a heavy sigh] Well, I’ll be damned. You kids see the power you wield? You resurrected that Salas bunch, and now we’ve got a damn vampire in office. I'm telling you, it's that Darling family curse, it's no joke.
Salem: Yeah, no one's fucking laughing, mom.
Yellow: [Starts pacing, checking cell phone] Has anyone heard from Coraleye? It’s nearly 4 AM, and she hasn’t checked in. That’s not like her—especially after this long.
Tumblr media
Donna, anxiously knitting on the sofa, turns to give her husband a loving glance, striving to keep her tone light and comforting. Donna: We needn't fret, love. She's likely off with Tycho, helping him get his mind off things like lovebirds do— hehe! Yellow: [Sighs] You’re probably right. I’ll give her more time before trying again. I do remember how it felt, being young and utterly smitten. [Grins and cheesily winks at Donna]
Salem: Disgusting.
Donna: You are! [Playfully sticks out tongue]
Tumblr media
Seymour, thought to be asleep, croaks a laugh. Salem groans and leans forward, burying her head in her hands.
Out of nowhere, the Darling family landline rings, breaking the silence with a jolt. The unexpected sound causes even the family dog to yelp in surprise. Donna: Oh, heavens! It's alright, Mimsy, that's just the phone. Gave me a scare too; it hardly ever rings. Excuse me, I'll answer it.
Donna gently sets her knitting kit aside, then carefully maneuvers around the jumbled feet and dog, making her way to the foyer to tend to the ringing phone. Yellow tries his daughter’s cellphone once more, as Clementine nudges Salem with her leg. Clementine: What's wrong? Having doubts about resurrecting them? Salem: Of course not. Don’t be stupid. That was the only way I'd get you back. How was I supposed to know it'd get lead to this? She was so different all those years ago.
Tumblr media
Donna, usually known for her bravery, suddenly cries out in distress from the foyer, causing Yellow to rush to her side, alarmed. Yellow: Donna, sweetheart! What's wrong? Who called? Donna: That was an officer from the city. We have to go pick up Coraleye right away! There's been a terrible accident. Yellow: What? What happened to her? Is she hurt?
Tumblr media
Donna: She's safe, but it sounds like others may have been hurt, and she's rather quite shaken. They wouldn't elaborate, so I guess we'll learn more when we arrive. Oh! Let me just fetch my slippers!
Clementine: Shit, I’m pretty worried… should we tag along? Yellow: We’ll manage. Maybe you all stay here in case anything comes up here. Thanks, Clem. Mom— we'll be right back with Coraleye. Will you be alright getting Dad to bed? Kirsten: Yes, of course, hun. Just get my baby girl back home safe and soon.
Clementine: Ditto. Give her hugs and kisses for me. [Waits for Donna and Yellow to leave] What a crazy night. What do you think went down?
Salem: How should I know.
Clementine: Think it’s connected to Salas winning?
Salem: Most likely. And now that a psychotic vampire is in charge— this is just the beginning. Who knows what she's capable of?
Tumblr media
Kirsten: You can say that again. How long is it gonna take before someone addresses that none of us mediums have been able to make contact with Jay Salas? I think the bitch killed her husband. Salem: Mom please, not now. Kirsten: Sorry! Just saying... I have my suspicions. Guess we'll save it for a later season.
Tumblr media
Salem exhales heavily, clutching her scalp. Her gaze drifts to the glowing TV screen, where Tatiana's unsettling grin beams back, mocking her hesitation.
Salem: Ugh, fuck! I can’t believe I’m responsible for this fucking shitshow.
Clementine: [Brief silence, eyes transfixed on the screen] …You brought her into this realm.
Salem: …And I’m gonna have to take her out.

Chapter Eight: A Bump In The Road
It had been almost a week since you and Beau went on your official ‘first’ date. Life complications kept interfering and being a sheriff meant Beau was busy, especially when he was coordinating calls about cars sliding off the road and citizens needing help.
You absolutely understood and had no problems waiting… because now you knew something was happening with him. Every time you flashed back to that kiss, to that restaurant, you felt your heart swell with love and adoration.
Doris caught you that Monday morning with the goofiest smile on the planet and keyed right in. “Well, it’s about damned time!”
You blinked at her, startled. “About time..?”
“Oh don’t get me started with your innocent look,” she said with a fond scoff. “Beau’s been walking about with the same silly smile.”
You couldn’t help it, you grinned. “Really?”
Doris rolled her eyes and smiled. “Yes, really. He isn’t on Cloud Nine. I think he’s in Cloud Heaven.”
Your smile warmed and widened. “We kissed,” you confessed. “He took me to Ciao Bella and oh, Doris… it was wonderful.”
“I’m glad,” she said, and there was a firmness to her tone that spoke volumes. “You two deserved some happiness.”
You paused, then admitted, “I didn’t think I could trust again, Doris. But every step of the way, Beau proved I could, even when I didn’t ask him to.”
“He’s a rare man,” she said with a nod. “Stubborn, Lord yes, but a good man.”
“I’m scared.”
Doris studied you for a long moment, then said, “It’s okay to be scared. Even when I knew it was going to happen, I was scared of facing this life alone without my Stan. I loved that son of a bitch and I also hated him. When he was gone and I was free, Adam snatching me up terrified me.”
“How… how did you get over it?” You dreaded asking that question. Doris seemed so strong, you envied her strength of character. You hated how you constantly felt weak.
“I did it anyway. That fear only works if it wins in holding you in place. So do it scared.”
You thought back to how you finally confronted Beau. It worked, because it gave him the kick he needed… and where your relationship was now.
“Do it scared,” you mused.
“Exactly.”
You thought about that all day as you fielded phone calls from clients who needed their insurance because they apparently forgot how to drive in snow. Just as you were grabbing paper from the printer, you heard the door chime. “Hi, I’ll be right with you,” you said absently, and then turned around.
With a start, you saw it was Emily! With a smile, you got up and greeted her. “Emily, hey! Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.”
“Hey Y/N,” she said with a shaky smile.
That cued you into realizing something was up. “Is everything okay?”
“Um… can I talk to you? A-and you won’t tell my dad?”
Your brows swooped up. Carefully, you sat back down and regarded this young woman. You recalled Beau telling you Emily had just turned eighteen, so legally, she was an adult. But she was also just a kid….
“I can’t make that promise, Emily,” you said gently.
“It’s nothing bad! I just… I can’t ask my mom because she’s my mom, but I also need to talk to a woman.”
Baffled, you stared at Emily. Alarmingly, you worried if it was because maybe she was pregnant and wanted a ride to an abortion clinic. “I… um…”
“C-can I just… tell you?”
You nodded, praying you wouldn’t be caught in a situation where you’d have to help someone in a difficult situation.
“So… I’ve been with this guy, Tyler, for a few months now. He… I guess he’s my boyfriend—”
“You guess?” you asked in disbelief.
“We never really made it official,” Emily said defensively. “He said he wasn’t ready and I didn’t want to be one of those girls who pressured the guy, you know?”
Oh God. You had an inkling where the conversation was going, and prayed you were wrong. “Yeah, I’ve… been there. Go on, Emily.”
“Well, Tyler wants to take me on this really romantic date and… I think he wants us to do it.” The way she fidgeted made you think of Beau, and you wondered if he was ever an awkward teenager.
“‘It’?”
She blushed, and looked away skittishly. “You know… it.” She dropped her voice to a loud whisper despite no one else was in the office with you. “Sex.”
You found yourself wishing a giant sink hole would form and swallow you up. You actually waited several seconds, before deciding you weren’t so lucky.
“Emily… are you a virgin?”
Her face turned redder and she ducked her head. “Oh God,” she said, rubbing her face. “I… y-yeah. I really want it to be great and I really like Tyler. I just… don’t know what to do!”
“Emily, this is really something you should talk to your parents about—”
“No, I can’t!” She let out a breath. “Dad would turn all red and stutter and mom… when she gave me the ‘talk’, she kept harping on how love is really special and…”
“You felt patronized and shamed at even thinking about sex without love,” you hazarded. For some reason, Carla gave you that impression. Emily confirmed it a moment later.
“Yes! And I just… oh God, this is so embarrassing!”
She had no idea. You took a breath and decided to do your best. “Emily,… I was in college before I slept with a guy. We were both rather drunk and it was so embarrassing, I ended up being single for a year after that.”
Her eyes widened at your bluntness. She leaned forward, listening.
“Sex… can be really great. Exciting, even, especially if it’s with someone you have great chemistry with… but you shouldn’t rush into it.” You tried to articulate your thoughts. “You shouldn’t have sex just to get it over with or think it’ll make the guy love you. You should have sex when you feel ready for it. Whether it’s a one night stand or the beginning of a relationship, you need to be the one who decides to take that step for the right reason.”
Emily pondered that, biting her lower lip just like the way Beau did when he was lost in thought. “Does it ever get easier?”
“Relationships?”
“Yeah. Like… it’ll get easier… right?”
“I wish,” you said with a rueful smile.
“Ugh. Great.” She fixed a curious look on you. “Is it getting easier with my dad?”
“It is, actually,” you admitted. It was so weird having this conversation with Emily. She was your—God, did you dare call Beau your boyfriend?—she was Beau’s daughter.
“Can I ask how did it change?”
You thought of a random text message that you boldly sent, of the way you confronted him after he began avoiding you. Of how he gave you the space you so desperately needed, that when it finally happened, it was perfect.
“I found my voice and I used it,” you said. “I took that bold step, put my heart on the line, and I got so lucky.”
“Wasn’t it scary doing that?”
“God, yes,” you admitted with a breathless chuckle. “Your father could’ve ignored me, turned me away, but he didn’t, because we were actually wanting the same thing. A relationship works when the two in that situation feel the same way.”
In that moment, you caught a glimpse of the person she might turn into. Wise, intelligent, with enough sense of humor to balance her out. “Thanks, Y/N… I really needed this.”
“You’re welcome,” you said kindly. “I hope your decision is, whatever it turns out to be, makes you happy.”
“Thanks.”
“God, darlin’,” Beau grumbled over the phone as you drove home Friday night. “It was supposed to be our third date and instead I have to cancel, again. I’m about to go mad.”
You chuckled. Beau sounded so frustrated, because even as he grumbled, he’ll do his job. He wouldn’t leave people without help. Oh, he could have assigned his deputies to it, and he was, but he was one of the rare specimens of leadership where he actively participated as well as ordered. He refused to sit in his warm trailer while people were out in the cold.
Montana had the rare bout of snow every night and chilly days that left slick patches of ice everywhere. Friday night was the first night in a week that didn’t have snow. However, there were issues with black ice and a particularly bad accident on a bridge led to numerous calls to redirect, assist, or otherwise manage.
“Well, TGIF? You can always stop by afterwards and we can at least see each other,” you suggested as you carefully turned a corner.
“Careful there, darlin’,” he said, and a trace of flirtatious energy came through. “I just might use that invitation to neck you all night.”
The mental image of your neck covered in hickeys had a flash of heat through your core. “That actually sounds like fun. I’ll pencil you in up until midnight.”
He groaned through the phone. “Christ, darlin’. Just midnight? I was thinkin’ at least ‘til dawn.”
“Someone’s ambitious,” you replied, your voice rich with humor.
“Someone has a gorgeous neck that I wanna—Jesus Christ, Pop!” You heard him cuss a blue streak, the phone held away. “Just five minutes, darlin’,” he sighed when he returned to the phone. “Just five goddamned minutes with my girlfriend. That’s all I ask. The universe is conspirin’ against me.”
Your breath hitched at being called his girlfriend, and smiled shyly. “No matter how late it is tonight,” you decided then and there, “I want you to come knock my door.”
“Yeah?” He sounded so hopeful, it warmed your heart.
“Yeah. Knock on my door, Beau.”
“And what will I get when I do?”
“The best kiss this side of the Mississippi,” you offered, pulling into your driveway.
“Now that, darlin’, will make putting up with this insanity worth it,” he declared. “Best prepare those lips of yours. I’m claimin’ them tonight.”
You grinned. “I look forward to it.”
“I gotta go, darlin’, but…” He paused and you wondered at the hesitation. “I’ll see ya tonight.”
It was supposed to be a quiet night. Some tea, maybe a book to read. A chance to spend a minute with Beau. Everything positively domestic, peaceful, something you needed after the weeks of heightened anxiety and the mess with Mark. Instead, you got a call.
From Emily.
Seeing her name pop up on the Caller ID surprised you. For a moment, you couldn’t recall why she’d be bothering you late on a Friday evening. Then you remembered it, her visit to your office.
“Hello,” you answered.
The sudden crash of sobbing and a partially hysterical Emily was not what you expected.
“Emily?” You sat up straighter in your easy chair. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“C-can you come get me?” she asked, hiccuping as she swallowed air to calm herself down.
Dread flooded your being. What if she’d been—You couldn’t even finish that thought out of dread. “Of course I can,” you said instantly. “Where are you?”
She rattled off an address. “I… I got into a fight with Tyler,” she said sobbing. “I’m at the gas station. He refused to take me home.”
Anger boiled in your belly. Tyler was definitely rapidly going down the list of men you disliked. “I’ll be right there,” you said firmly, getting out of your easy chair. “Just hold on, okay?”
“Okay,” she said, sniffling in the background.
You hung up and quickly grabbed your winter boots and coat. You barely paused to snatch up your car keys and headed out the door, the sound of her crying echoing in your mind. You should call Beau, you knew that, but he was busy and Emily… she needed a friend more than a parent.
It took you longer than you liked to get to the gas station due to the black ice. Your car barely crawled across the ice and you didn’t want to be added to the list of people needing help. When you got there, you saw her outside, eyes red-rimmed and puffy. At first glance she looked okay, but you had to make sure.
“Emily,” you said, getting out of the car.
She let out a sob and nearly bowled you over in a desperate hug. “I’m so sorry, I just didn’t know who else to call and if I told my dad he’d kill Tyler and—”
“It’s okay,” you said soothingly, cutting her off. You wrapped your arms around her and rubbed her back. “Just tell me: are you okay? He didn’t… he didn’t force himself or anything?”
“No,” she said with a firm shake of her head. You felt the knot of fear in you loosen. Thank God. It would not have been a conversation you’d want with Beau. “He just…. C-can we talk about it in your car?”
“Of course. Come on, honey,” you said gently, leading her to the car. Once she was in the passenger seat, you went to the driver’s side and sat down. You turned on the car for the heat, and faced her. “What happened?”
Emily sniffled, wiped her eyes. “We… we were at this party. He took me to one of the rooms, locked the door, and was all ‘I’m so glad you decided to do this, baby’,” she said in an approximate male voice, then screwed her face in disgust. “I actually felt like he… like…” She made a sound of frustration.
“Like you were a prize to claim?” you suggested, watching her.
“Yeah! It was like that! I felt so gross. I told him I changed my mind and he… he was mad, asking if I didn’t love him, and—and I just told him I wanted to go home,” she said, the distress leaving and anger took its place. “He said that because I wasn’t going to be a loving girlfriend that I should just leave. So I said fine! I’ll leave!”
You smiled, feeling a spark of pride for her. “That was very brave of you.”
“I just… y-you said that it should feel right. And it didn’t.” Emily looked at you beseechingly, seeking reassurance.
“Hey… if you weren’t ready, you weren’t ready. I’m not the one who gets to decide that, Emily, you are. Not Tyler, you.” You placed a hand on her shoulder and gave her a reassuring squeeze. “That Tyler didn’t respect that is unfortunate. But you did the right thing by leaving and calling someone.”
She swallowed hard and rubbed her face. “I don’t know what to do, Y/N.”
“Tell you what… why don’t I take you back home with me, get you some tea, and then I can take you home?”
“Yeah…. Yeah, please?”
You nodded, started the car, and drove her back to your home. She rode the way quietly, calming down. At one point she looked at her phone, rolled her eyes, and turned it off. She said nothing, and you decided not to press the point.
However, when you got home, you saw Beau’s truck. He was outside your door and turned when he heard you pull into your driveway. “Darlin’, hey, there you—Emily?”
Beau froze at seeing his daughter come out of your car. He glanced at you, then at her, more than a little confused and uncertain. “Em, everythin’ all right?”
“Hey dad. Yeah, I’m okay,” she said. She was quite the sight, red-rimmed eyes and puffy.
He frowned and walked over to her. He put one hand on her shoulder and pulled her into a hug. “I’m here for you, honey,” he murmured.
Your heart ached at seeing the worry on Beau’s face. Maybe you should’ve made her call Beau, but you wanted her settled and feeling safe first. This kind of conversation would be a difficult one at any age, for any parent or child.
Beau gently pulled Emily away, and you heard them speaking in low, indistinct voices. You stood there, uncertain, and decided to just wait. Yes, it was cold, but you’d be okay. Right now, Beau having this conversation with Emily was more important. He was important to you, and by extension, so was Emily.
“He what?!”
You looked up, saw the fury on Beau’s face. Emily was desperately trying to calm him down.
“That son of a bitch—”
“Dad, stop!” Emily grabbed a hold of Beau’s arm.
“Beau,” you said his name gently. “Listen to your daughter.”
He closed his eyes, and mustered up his composure, his calm. He took a few breaths, let them out slow, misting in the cold air. “You’re right, darlin’.” He turned back to Emily, gave her a weak smile. “I’m sorry, Em. Just… God, I’m sorry ya went through that.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beau pulled his daughter into another hug, planted his lips in her hair. “I just want to protect ya, honey. I know there are some bad people out there.”
“I know, dad,” she said, clinging to him for a long moment. It broke your heart at how tender the sight was before you. “But… nothing bad happened. I left, I called Y/N….”
“Em, why didn’t you call me? Or your mom?” Beau asked, his puzzlement clear.
“I just…” Emily looked down and mumbled, “I was afraid you would get mad.”
“God, no, Emily, never,” Beau insisted, pulled her into another hug. “Mad at him, God yes. But never you. I promise, never you.”
Emily burrowed into her father’s arms, clung to him. You watched, absurdly feeling like an outsider in a family moment. Maybe Beau picked up on that, because he glanced over at you, and fixed an intense look of adoration on you.
“Thank you, darlin’,” he said quietly. “Thank you for being there for my Em.”
You smiled slowly, warmth blooming in your heart. “You’re welcome, Beau.”
He took Emily into his truck, planning to take her back to Carla’s home before he headed home. Once she was settled in the passenger seat, he came right over to you. Without a word, he pulled you into a passionate kiss that took you by surprise. Then you let out a soft sigh and melted, returning the kiss with fervor. He lingered, savoring the moment, cherishing you. When he finally broke the kiss, he rested his forehead against yours.
“So much for neckin’,” he whispered to you with a smile.
You let out a small laugh, your heart racing. “That’s okay. Maybe tomorrow.”
He met your gaze, pulled back enough to brush his hand across your cheek. Something flickered in his eyes and your breath hitched, wondering what it could have been. “Tomorrow, darlin’. Maybe lunch?”
You smiled, leaning into his touch. “Absolutely.”
He kissed you again, a quick peck this time. “Good night, darlin’.”
You watched them pull out from the curb. Emily waved at you from the passenger window, and you waved back with a smile. It made your heart ache to watch Beau leave. How did he become so wrapped up in your life that just him leaving made you miss him that much?
He called you his girlfriend. The thought still made your heart flip and swell. He was just so… you couldn’t even find the words. You smiled to yourself; the first throes of a relationship were always jittery, exciting, and full of energy that made you bounce everywhere. You definitely couldn’t get enough of him. It was different now than it was when you just went over to sleep outside his trailer.
You took a deep breath and went back inside your warm home, your heart full, even as you missed him. Just as the door shut and locked behind you, your cellphone pinged with a text message. Curious, you looked and your smile widened.
It was from Beau.
It read: I miss you already.

Upstead Foster Daughter
Did you ever wonder how Upstead would be as foster parents for a teenage girl? Like Hank and Erin, Hailey and Jay welcomed Olivia to their home when she was 16. Olivia holds a lot of grudges and is full of mischief, but she is also incredibly sweet and has a tremendous need to feel like she belongs. To her surprise, Hailey and Jay will give her exactly that.
Masterlist
Word count: 2k-ish
[Chapter III] “What if I'm far from home?”
Jay recovers well and three months later Olivia finds herself face to face with him and Hailey again.
Tumblr media
“Hailey,” Jay’s rough voice woke Hailey from a light sleep on the chair next to Jay’s hospital bed.
“Jay!” she got up and held one of his hands between hers, leaving a chaste kiss on it.
“Hi, my love,” Jay smiled, the effort to do so appearing bigger than it should be.
Hailey smiled back, “How are you feeling?”
He made a face and tried to change his position on the bed, a huff leaving his lips, “Everything hurts.”
“I’ll call the nurse.”
“No, wait,” Jay grabbed her hand. “Let us be for a while, it doesn’t hurt that much.”
Hailey stared at her stubborn husband. She knew he hated hospitals, and he also wasn’t known for admitting his pain, but she let him be for now.
“What happened?” Jay asked. “I mean, with my CI and the case?”
“What about hearing about yourself first, huh? The surgery was a success, but the doctor said you must take it easy for a while otherwise it won’t heal properly. You scared me, Jay. I can’t see you in this situation again.”
“I’m sorry, I should’ve waited for you. You’re my partner, we do this kind of stuff together.”
“I should’ve insisted on going with you. Maybe if you had backup…”
“You can’t know that for sure, Hailey. If anything, you could be in my place right now so I’m happy I was alone.”
“Jay…”
“Let’s leave the what-ifs behind, okay? I’m here and I’m not going anywhere,” he was the one to kiss her hand this time. “I love you.”
“I love you too, always.”
Jay smiled, “Where’s my kiss? Or do I have a bad breath? I don’t know how long I was out.”
Hailey laughed, kissing her husband’s lips softly. “It’s been a day and a half.”
“Wait!” Jay said. “What about the girl who helped me? Olivia. Is she okay?”
“She is, it’s a long story though. We found out she had run away from her foster family.”
“Why?” Jay asked with a frown.
“I don’t know, we talked with her social worker but nothing was wrong, it seemed like a teenager thing.”
“Really? You guys went there to check?”
“We did, Kev and I talked with her foster mom. She seemed good, and the social worker confirmed that.”
“Well,” Jay rearranged himself on the bed again. “Hopefully she will be okay. We can keep an eye on her just in case.”
“I exchanged numbers with her social worker. Told her to call me if anything happened.”
“Of course you did,” he smiled, but then his expression became more serious. “If it wasn’t for her… I don’t even know Hailey.”
“Yeah, I was terrified hearing from another person that you were shot, but I was happy you weren’t alone.”
“Me too, I still remember her eyes staring at me in a panic. She must have been so scared, Hailey. But she still did everything I told her to.”
“She was a little shaken up afterward, Kim and Kev said she barely said a word to them. But she was brave.”
“Oh, about the case,” Hailey started. “It was closed rather quickly, I’m sure Platt and Voight pulled some strings,” she laughed lightly and so did Jay.
“The team found out your CI was still working for his old gang, when you called him asking for info on our case he told them and they sent someone after you.”
“Son of a bitch,” Jay said.
“Both your CI and the guy who shot you were arrested."
Jay looked like he wanted to ask a million questions but Hailey spoke before he had the chance, "But now I just wish to never think about this again, can we do that?”
Jay nodded, “You don’t have to, I promise this was the last bullet to my count,” he said with a smile.
“It better be, Halstead!”
⭑*•⊱ 3 months later ⊰•*⭑
Hailey's phone has been ringing for the past 5 minutes, her ringtone waking Jay up. Hailey came running out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, her long hair dripping water everywhere. Jay smiled lazily at the sight.
“I'm sorry Jay, I forgot to turn it off. I came in so desperate for a shower.”
It was around 1 am when she arrived home from an extra shift. There was a situation in a women’s shelter and she and Kim decided to go and lend a hand.
Hailey did a double take at her phone when she saw the name ‘Martha’, she was Olivia's social worker.
Jay noticed her shock and said, “You're good? Who is it?”
“It's Olivia's social worker,” she said while picking up the call. Jay sat up, all the traces of sleep suddenly vanishing from his brain. Something bad must have happened for her to call at this hour.
“Martha? Hi, yes I can talk. What's going on? Is Olivia okay?” Hailey said. She felt Jay's presence by her side.
“Of course, no, don't worry about that it's not a bother at all. I'm glad you called, my husband and I are going right now, bye.” She hung up the phone and turned to Jay.
“What happened? Is she okay?” Jay asked straight away.
“She ran away again.”
2:00 am on a Wednesday, in Chicago. Jay is doing the best he can to avoid thinking about all the possible scenarios that could happen to a 15-year-old girl alone at night. He and Hailey drove around Olivia's foster family neighborhood, checking places she could have run to. No sign of her. After checking all the places the family said she likes to go, Hailey and Jay started to think further.
“Maybe we should call patrol to help out on the search? Call in the team?” Jay said, already sounding way more stressed than he intended to. He knew she wasn't missing long enough to follow all the missing person's protocol, it's been 3 hours. One of the kids that shared a room with Olivia woke up to drink a glass of water and didn't find her on the bed and her clothes were gone from the closet. However, Jay can't help but think the worst. A lot of things can happen in 3 hours, right?
“Let's check the nearest bus and train stations, if she's not there then we'll see what we can do at the station,” Hailey said, her tone filled with worry.
They got nothing from the bus station, it was almost empty and no one saw a girl walking around alone. But their luck changed at the train station. They noticed her from a distance, sitting down on a bench, a backpack by her side. She was waiting for the train that would come at any minute now. Hailey and Jay looked at each other with relief, moving in the direction of the girl.
“Olivia,” her head spun toward the feminine voice.
“Hailey? Jay?” Olivia stood up, putting her bag on her shoulders.
Jay immediately tensed up, afraid she might run from them.
“Olivia we just wanna help, okay?” Hailey said with a small smile. “Come and talk to us.”
Jay watched in silence, hesitant to say anything that could scare the girl away.
Hailey continued, “Please, Olivia? Whatever you're thinking, it's no good being alone in Chicago at night, we know you know that.”
Of course, she knew. Olivia was scared, she didn't want to run away in the middle of the night, but it was the best time to do this so she had to gather the courage and go. Always looking over her shoulder the whole way.
“We're taking you to the station,” Jay spoke for the first time, “You're not in trouble, but we can talk there, you can tell us what's going on. How does that sound?”
Hailey nodded in affirmation to Jay's words.
“Fine,” was all Olivia said. She followed them to the car quietly. The train arrived when they left. If they had got there 5 minutes later, Jay thought. 5 damn minutes and she would be gone.
Olivia did not say a single word on the way to the station. Hailey and Jay tried every possible topic of conversation they could think of but it was useless. She shut herself completely. Hailey was the one driving and after giving up the small talk, she and Jay were exchanging worried looks in silence. Jay, especially, was in a lot of thought. Of course Olivia shut them out, she did not know them. Between that day at the alley when they first met, Jay being in the hospital and Olivia being sent back to her foster family, neither he nor Hailey had a real conversation with her. Jay realized that he didn’t even thank her.
“I never thanked you for saving my life, Olivia,” Jay said after a long silence.
“It was nothing,” Olivia answered in a low voice.
Jay looked at Hailey in surprise, he was not expecting an answer at all. “What do you mean it was nothing, I could have bled out if you hadn't called my team,” Jay looked at her over his shoulder. “Thank you.”
It was around 3 am when they got to the district. The three of them went over to the Intelligence break room to talk.
Olivia sat at the small table close to the window. “Are you hungry? Thirsty?” Jay asked.
“No,” Olivia mumbled without looking at him.
“I’m just gonna go straight to the point Olivia,” Hailey said, pulling a chair and sitting in front of the girl. “What’s happening with your foster home? Why are you running away?”
“You don’t get it,” Olivia said, still not looking at them.
“Then make us understand,” Hailey said calmly. She looked at Jay silently asking for help, he came and sat beside Hailey.
“We just wanna help you, but we can’t do that if you don’t open up to us,” Hailey tried again. Olivia looked up, looking between them both.
“You don’t know us and we don’t know you,” Jay started. “But we want to get to know you, we want to help you.”
“Why?” Olivia asked.
“Why wouldn’t we?” Hailey answered. “You’re a good kid, you deserve to be happy. If your current foster home is not giving you that then we need to know.”
Olivia thought for a moment. She never expected to see Hailey and Jay again, let alone have this conversation. They were nice to her and she knew they were grateful for what she did for Jay. They probably think they owe her something and that’s why they’re doing this. Whatever the reason, maybe they can help her.
“Fine,” Olivia said looking at the pair. “There is nothing wrong with the foster family.”
Hailey and Jay stared at her in confusion. They did not believe she was running away for the sake of it, it made no sense.
“They feed me, they are nice to me, they give me fresh clothes and a warm bed,” Olivia said. “But that’s all it is.”
“What do you mean?” Hailey asked.
Olivia took a deep breath before saying, “I’m just another kid to them. They’re good people and everything but that is not my home. I feel like an intruder there. I know I should be grateful, a lot of kids are not this lucky when it comes to foster homes, but I can’t help feeling like this. So I made a plan.”
“A plan?” Hailey asked.
“Yeah, I planned to leave Chicago and the foster system behind. I would miss Chicago but at least I was going to be my own family.”
Hailey and Jay looked at each other in realization. So that's why she was running? She just wanted to belong.
“I know the system's not perfect Olivia, but running is not the solution,” Jay said calmly. “How would you live? And the people who know you? They would be worried as hell.”
“We would be worried as hell,” Hailey said.
Jay nodded, “We would be the first ones looking for you out there.” Olivia smiled softly at that.
“Will you let us help?” Hailey asked.
“Mm-hmm, okay.” Olivia honestly had no idea how they could help, but it was worth a try, wasn’t it?

Tumblr media
“y/n~i need to talk to you.”
“you always need to talk to me. talk to your other friends.”
“don’t get smart with me. i just wanted to remind you about the business trip i’m going on. i leave next wednesday.” jean worked with a company that providing them with relaxing trips out of the country twice a year because they know how taxing the job can be.
“where you going this time?”
“it’s actually a cruise, going to the bahamas. i’ll be gone for two weeks tho, much longer than last time.”
“two weeks??” that caught your attention. you were used to jean and his trips but you’ve never been left alone for two weeks.
“i figured you don’t need a babysitter because you’re 18 but some people will swing by to check on you.”
“you tell—“
“yes i told mom and dad. they’ll come check on you and if you get scared just stay over there.”
“anything else i need to know?”
“nope, think that’s all. love you!” jean closed the door behind him. although it was only tuesday and he had about a week to prepare, it shouldn’t worry him about leaving you. he knew that you were a good kid, you don’t cause trouble , and you’re practically already independent apart from you living with him. so he didn’t know why he was feeling weird about all of this.
later on that day, you called tia to have your daily conversation and some interesting things were brought up.
“you said he said what now?”
“just reposting tweets n shit and relationships, talkin bout some ‘i’ll take my old bitch over a new bitch any day’” the dude in question was your ex you dated for two years until he cheated. he was your first and last boyfriend and luckily you hadn’t lost your virginity to him or else you’d be going mad even now.
“a weirdo for real. remind me why you follow him again?”
she shrugged. “to be nosy. give us something to talk about.”
“valid.”
“your brother still going on the trip thingy?”
“yeah, why?”
“just asking. don’t he always go around the same time?”
“yeah but i didn’t think you were paying attention. he’s gonna be gone for two weeks this time.”
“two weeks?? oh you’ll be dead before he gets back.”
“don’t say that! i can handle myself fine for two weeks.”
“you don’t even sound like you believe yourself. but look at the bright side,” you rolled your eyes as you already knew what would come next. “connie can come over without any interruptions and he’ll stay and keep you company, and then~” tia started clapping her hands and moaning.
you laughed. “i fucking hate you. i don’t even think about him like that, he 22.”
“so? older dick be the best dick.”
“i’m gonna hang up on you.”
“it’s okay if you wanna hang up on me to call your man.”
“i don’t have a man.”
“sure..”
next wednesday rolled around quicker than you thought and it didn’t seem real to you up until you saw your brother all packed up in suit and tie.
“why you dressed up? i thought you were going on the trip to relax.”
“there’s a meeting right before we board the plane.” you nodded as you watched your brother put on his dress shoes. “are you sure you’ll be okay? you’ll call or text if you need anything right?”
“yes, i’ll be okay. just have fun.”
“i already called everyone to let them know so some one would be there everyday to check on you. and don’t throw any parties or anything while i’m gone.”
“i’ll try not to.” you joked. but he knew you weren’t like that. the most you’d probably do is have tia sleep over or something and just the two of you do stupid shit in the comfort of your own home.
“well,” he started as you helped him load the last of his things in his car. “i love you, i’ll be back in two weeks. i’ll call and text everyday, just don’t die on me.” he laughed while he pulled you into a tight embrace
“i won’t die, promise.”
after the both of you struggled to let go, you bid him a formal farewell as you watched him back out the parking lot, “love you too, be safe!”
after all that, it was weird having the place to yourself but you’d just operate how you would normally do. the only difference was that jean wasn’t present and you had to get used to that. but as he said, over the two weeks, people came to check on you every day.
you had visits from your older stepbrother elliot snd his girlfriend, your mom, your stepdad, and even your biological dad who really just started speaking to you after your mom remarried. but family wasn’t the only people who were there for you. you had visits from sasha who you’d hang out with from time to time, and sleepovers with your friend tia. but one person you really should’ve saw coming was connie. but you didn’t know how you felt just yet.
“y/n~” you heard connie call out to you from your room but he stopped in the doorway when he made it. “your brother told me to—“
“check up on me?”
“yeah, but.. a little more than that.”
“what?”
“he gave me a key, see?” he held it up proudly but you were shocked and maybe a bit upset.
“when did he give you a key? and why?” connie walked into your room and sat at the chair by your desk.
“he wants me to check on you
everyday—“
“people do that already.”
“yeah but he wants me to check on you everyday.. for multiple times a day.”
“so i don’t have a choice.. but to see you everyday?”
“multiple times a day, yes.” he smiles. “but that makes it easier for us to get to know each other.”
“don’t you have things to do? like work or..?”
“yeah but i’ll just come here after.” you rolled your eyes. although jean suspected that connie was trying something with you, he still trusted connie to keep you safe if anything else.
“whatever.” you went back to whatever you were doing.
“right,” connie stood up to walk out the room. “and imma need your number or something.”
“to track me?”
“no, just to keep in contact with you. weirdo.” he laughed. you were the weirdo? you ended up putting your number in his phone and he put his number in yours. “i turned locations on by the way. i’ll be back, bye!” he left before you could even get on him about it.

tagging @stocious because she said she may have some thoughts on this
why i’m not a fan of sandy milkovich in 11x07/11x08
so, as we all know, i love debbie gallagher. i’m that one bitch you see on tumblr, screaming about my love for her or screaming at silly people who criticize her. that’s me. so naturally, sandy milkovich was a character that interested me because she was debbie’s longest lasting actual partner, and sebbie (sandy x debbie) was adorable.
i should have known it was too good to be true. debbie always has bad luck, especially when it comes to her being abandoned or being unloved.
in 11x07, royal, sandy’s ex-husband, dropped off her kid, prince, for the day. sandy didn’t tell debbie she had a kid. a kid who she abandoned.
and let’s say the circumstances were different, lets say she had to leave for her own safety or something, that would make me a bit more sympathetic (but still wonder why she left her fucking kid), however when prince see’s her and says “hi, mom” or whatever he said she just storms off and says “don’t call me that”.
this sets off alarm bells in debbie’s head. debbie’s mother took off and left her and her siblings with her father multiple times. by everyone in her life, she’s been used, then left, then used, then left. she’s so scared- and she now realizes sandy will probably leave her too and she freaks.
prince is well-adjusted, you wouldn’t be able to tell he’s a descendent of the milkovich family. he is the opposite of debbie. he is mature about being abandoned and doesn’t like his mother, but respects her choice. debbie’s an adult, she’s much older than this kid, yet it’s still tearing her up inside. even when she was a kid acting as an adult, it tore her up inside. that was her weak spot.
sandy knew that was her weak spot. they had known each other for what, eight months? even if they didn’t call it dating, they were, because sandy knew just the thing to use to hurt debbie.
so when debbie confronts her, things go to shit. debbie starts ranting about child abandonment, and slips up and says “you ran out on people who needed you because you wanted to do your own shit! i’ll never forgive you for that!” as if debbie was the child that sandy abandoned. as if debbie was six or seven again, being left for the first time all over again.
sandy catches on and seizes the opportunity to hurt her with it.
“holy shit. you think i’m monica.”
“what?”
“i am not your mom, debbie. i didn’t just leave my family to do my own shit!”
“this has nothing to do with my mom! fuck you!”
“you are piling all of your abandonment issues on me, right? because what happened? monica ran out on you, and now the rest of ‘em wanna run out on you too.”
“they don’t want to run out on me they want to sell the house and get the money…”
“you sure?”
sandy at this point has backed debbie into a corner and destroyed her. at the beginning, she’s confident, but then sandy just tears the layers of confidence down, breaks down the walls debbie set as a child, and now all that is left is just a scared, hurt, lonely child in an adult’s body. aka, season 1 debbie.
she doesn’t even have to say any more because she know that she hurt her. debbie looks frightened and vulnerable and sandy’s fucking smiling. then, sandy gets up, takes her shit, and leaves debbie, sitting in franny’s bed, dumbstruck.
this sends debbie into a spiral.
then the infamous scene where she does coke and sleeps with a gay guy happens, and it all reminds me of mickey in 5x11 (?).
then she gets a call from franny’s school and realizes she forgot to get her and she panics. she almost forgot about her kid.
then, she and franny meet on the steps at the gallagher house, and debbie delivers a monologue and it made my debbie-defender heart so excited.
but first, i have to say that sandy literally compares debbie leaving franny for 12 hours to sandy leaving prince for years. she also literally shows up just to call debbie a bitch as if debbie was the one in the wrong. then she says she’s open to talking it out, and debbie isn’t- good for debbie because she needs to learn to set boundaries. a+
“i blew off some steam for less than a day! and it sucked, and now i’m back, with my kid! can you say the same about you and prince? … oh my god i’ve heard all of your excuses sandy, and they sound great coming out of your mouth! but at the end of the day, you walked out on somebody that needed you. i’ve got my entire family trying to leave me, i don’t need to be worried about you too.”
and WOW. fucking wow. amazing, debbie. that was fucking amazing.
people who (gallavich fans who love franny and hate debbie) think that debbie would ditch franny and go to texas without her are wild. this is what i mean by people don’t watch her scenes and only pay attention when she says something that they don’t like. her whole storyline, in all eleven seasons, is about a girl with abandonment issues who wants nothing more but to nurture and care for people so that they stay. whether it’s her parents, or her siblings, or her child, or her partners, she loves people so hard to try to make them love her and stay, but they never do. and that’s fucking heartbreaking. she’s spent her entire life trying to fill the lonely void inside of her, and she always fails.
sandy’s absence sucked, and it really added nothing to the plot, but it did help debbie grow. despite this, i really wish that they didn’t break up.
and just to add one more thing to debbie’s monologue, i love it because it shows her entire storyline even if it’s not that long. we go from season 1, where she cries at aunt ginger leaving, steals a kid, and screams at fiona for living with jimmy, to seasons 4-6 where she wants love so badly, but knows not how to get it, so she sexualizes herself and has a kid, then to season 11 debbie, who tries to heal the wounds she’s had her entire life. who knows, maybe she will.
anyways in conclusion gallagher’s and milkoviches need to get over their hatred of therapy because they ALL need it badly.

Tumblr media
Don't wanna be forward
Don't wanna cross a line
“I can’t believe you’re leaving!” Lily whined, wrapping her arms around my waist tightly.
“I’ll be gone for two weeks, Lils.” I said with a soft smile.
“Two weeks is a lot, I agree with Lily.” Sirius said, walking up to us and giving me a hug as well. “I’ll miss you, I guess.” He teased and I pinched his arm before locking eyes with my best friend, James Potter.
We said nothing as he threw his arms around me, “Only two weeks?”
I nodded, “Only two.”
But if I were to crash in this plane tonight
I'd want you to know this
“What happened?” I asked my mom as we were heading towards our gate in the airport.
“Apparently a plane going out malfunctioned and crashed to the ground. Thankfully they hadn’t gotten very high up in the air so everyone survived, but that’s still scary.” She explained and my breath hitched.
“How much time do we have until we need to board?”
“Two hours, your dad wanted to be early.”
I nodded as she sat down on the waiting chairs, “I’m gonna go to the desk over there, is that okay?” She nodded as she pulled out her book and began reading.
Don't wanna say too much
Intrude on your space
I pondered for a minute, an empty piece of paper in front of me and a muggle pen I stole from our hotel in my hand. I didn't want to be too forward about my feelings to James, but I didn’t want to get in a crash and not be able to say them at all. Better safe than sorry?
Don't wanna say too much
Intrude on your space
Dear James,
I’d like to start this letter off by saying a plane leaving the airport, not even two hours before mine, has gone down. As far as I know, there were no fatalities. The plane wasn’t high enough in the air to do any fatal damage to anyone once it went down. It does not, however, relieve the fear I feel boarding a plane, instead it only adds fuel to the fire.
Oh, and to tell you is too scary
So I'll just say something else
I need to confess my secrets to you, in case something happens and I can’t anymore. This scares me more than the chance of a plane crash does, but I can’t die without you knowing. I’ll be using a special method of getting this letter to you, so you receive it almost the moment I send it. That is, if Dumbledore taught it to me well.
And I wish that you could hear me
When I talk to myself
You’re my best friend, you’re the most important thing ever to me. You make all the bad feel okay, and the good feel even better. You’re always there for me, whether I’m being an absolute bitch to you or sobbing my eyes out, you’re right there with me. You mean the world to me, James. But I cannot stand the term best friend. Everytime you say it, it's like a punch in the gut.
But this plane might not land safely
So, what the hell do I have to lose
If I just tell you?
I need you to know, James, that-
I wanna eat pancakes for dinner
I wanna get stuck in your head
“James, a letter is on the table for you. I believe it’s from Y/n!” James’ mother called and he raced down the stairs.
“Y/n sent a letter?” He asked, his eyes flitting to the table and landing on a white envelope. He smiled excitedly and grabbed the letter, ripping it open and reading the words.
I wanna watch a T.V. show together
And when we're under the weather we can watch it in bed
His smile dropped as he read about the crash, immediate worry filling his body as a pit settled in his stomach. His throat closed up, as if he was about to cry and he shook his head.
“What is it, Jamie?” His mom asked, worry on her face as she gazed at her son.
James shook his head, “S’nothing.” He mumbled and walked back to his room, letter clutched tightly in his hand.
I wanna go out on the weekends
I wanna dress up just to get undressed
I took a nervous deep breath as we boarded the plane, praying to whoever is out there to keep me and my family safe. However, I wasn’t naive enough to not know that despite my prayers what is planned to happen, will happen. And there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it, no matter what they try.
I think that I should probably tell you this
In case there is an accident
And I never see you again
James sat quietly on his bed, staring blankly at the picture on his shelf. The picture of him and his best friend, the girl he loved most. The only sign of life in the boy was his soft breathing and the erratic bouncing of his knee, a tell-tale sign that he was nervous. Anxiety filled his veins as he thought about every possibility, each one worse than the last, none of them seemed to have a happy ending.
So please save all your questions for the end
And maybe I'll be brave enough by then
A gasp left my lips as the plane shook and I grabbed tightly onto my seatbelt, praying for the plane to stay in the air. It leveled out quickly and I let out a sigh of relief, rubbing my eye gently. This is the dumbest thing ever.
Don't wanna say something wrong
Don't wanna be weird
James sat nervously at the airport, his leg once again bouncing up and down. So far there was no news of a plane crash or anything like that, so he still had faith. He re-read the letter at least two dozen times, the words not quite settling in. His best friend, of almost six years, the girl he was in love with, loves him. And she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. The idea was absolutely mind boggling to the poor boy.
But if you're still in love with her
I think that I'll leave it there
And I won't ever tell you this
“Sirius, shut up. You’re annoying and you smell like a wet dog.” I said with a smile as Sirius and I turned a corner our fourth year.
“Woah.” Sirius breathed and I looked up, my heart shattering at the sight. James stood there, his hand on Lily’s cheek as he softly kissed her. I cleared my throat and turned around. “Y/n/n-”
“Not now, Sirius.”
Oh, 'cause to tell you is too scary
So I'll just say something else
Like how was fall semester?
And what was that song about?
I smiled happily as I left the plane, a weight lifting off my chest as I walked into the airport. I linked arms with my mom who held hands with my dad as we walked to the exit of the gate. I walked out and my eyes immediately met James’.
He widely smiled as he jumped out of the chair and ran over, almost tackling me to the ground with a big bear hug. He held on tightly as he swayed us side to side, switching from foot to foot.
“I’m so glad you’re okay.” He mumbled, not letting go.
“Me too.”
I'll try to hide the way I feel
But I'll just wanna shout
What do I have to lose right now?
“Okay, you two, let’s not block the way, yeah?” My mom said with amusement laced in her voice. James let go and took the carry on bag from my hand, also reaching over to grab my moms.
“I got these for you, ladies.” He said with a smile and I blushed as my mom waved him off with a smile.
“No special treatment for me, James?” My dad teased and James managed to grab his bad as well.
“So sorry, ma’am. I do have a very important question for you two adults though.” James said with a serious look on his face. I furrowed my eyebrows at him and he winked.
“Yes?” My dad prompted.
“May I steal your daughter for the night? Please?”
“N-”
“Yes, of course you can.” My mom interrupted my dad and winked at me.
I wanna eat pancakes for dinner
I wanna get stuck in your head
“James, I love spending time with you but why tonight? I’m tire- wait.” I cut myself off as the door opened and a sweet aroma filled my nose. James smiled cheekily at me and ushered me in. I hesitantly walked to the kitchen island and gasped.
“Pancakes for dinner.” He said from behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. “And for the record, you’re always on my mind.”
I wanna watch a T.V. show together
And when we're under the weather we can watch it in bed
I wanna go out on the weekends
I wanna dress up just to get undressed
“James-”
“Nope. You’ve already said your piece.” He said, letting go and stepping in front of me. He grabbed my hands and looked me in my eyes. “It’s my turn.”
I think that I should probably tell you this
In case there is an accident
And I never see you again
“From the moment I laid eyes on you, attacking Sirius with spells we didn’t learn in class until second year, I swore I was in love. You were all I talked about in letters back home, and to Sirius and Remus and Peter.”
“But Lily?”
So please save all your questions for the end
And maybe I'll be brave enough by then
“Lily was a coverup. She knows, by the way. In fact, I didn’t even realize it until she told me. Y/n, you are my best friend, and I love you more than the Earth itself. You are a magnificent witch, with such an intelligent mind and beautiful face. I love every part of you. So, sorry for the lack of originality, but-”
Well, maybe I won't ever say what's in my head
No, I won't have to say anything
“I’d love to have pancakes for dinner, and like I said, you’re already stuck in my head. I want to watch a TV show with you and rewatch it together when I get you sick, or you me. I want to go out on the weekends with you and obviously I want you to dress up so I can tear it off.  I want you, Y/n. I want you.”
I pressed a kiss to his lips, removing one of my hands from his to cup his cheek. He used his free hand and gently rubbed up and down my waist, committing the curve to memory. We pulled away and rested our foreheads together with giddy smiles.
You'll say it instead

Yusei Fudo x Cubby reader pt.2 (happy ending)
Sorry for any errors
I accept requests
Tumblr media
“It’s late!! Where the hell were you?”your mom yelled and then embraced you. “Who was that guy you were with?” Your father asked. “I was watching my friend duel. I’m okay. It’s fun.” You replied with a smile on your face. They were shocked. You were smiling for the first time since you moved back to town. “You didn’t answer me.” Your father spoke. “That’s Jack he gave me a ride home.” You replied walking to your room doing your nightly routine
Months past.
Everything was almost the same. This time Yusei finally confessed to you.
“Happy 2 month anniversary my dear.” He said handing you a single rose with a stuffed bunny. You blushed and took them. “Happy anniversary Yusei.” You replied handing him a basket with snacks and a stuffed bear with a love letter. “Mhm a letter. Let’s see.” He teased you. “Not right now! I’d pass out if you read it now.” You spoke. “I have one more gift for you beautiful.” He said handing you a sticker of your name. “ for your duel runner.”you smiled. “ If it isn’t y/n and Yusei you guys are dating..publicly. Yusei I thought you’d keep it hidden. Dating this mess will make you lose popularity.” Emi spoke. She was furious. “It’s our 2nd month anniversary.” You said confidently. “Broke out of your shell. Dating a duelist must have gotten to you.” She smirked. “I’d advise you to not speak ill about my girlfriend.”Yusei threatened her. “Woah you two are dating?! Yusei you have horrible taste in woman..I mean Emi really..” Jack said. He had a disgusted look on his face. Yeah Jack is an asshole but he cares sometimes. That’s in his nature. “No. My girlfriend is Y/n. Let’s go beautiful.” He said and you guys left in each others duel runners. “ 2 months. That bitch.” Jack heard Emi say. He knew she was planning something in her mind.
Two days went by. You were on cloud 9.
“Alright. Drive to your heart’s content.” You told yourself. Test drive. After a few times around the track you heard a strange noise from your runner then everything went black. “You snake. You want him to yourself you put her at harm.” Jack commented. Lucky for you there were cameras set up. You woke up at the hospital the next morning. Only a cast for your ankle and wrist. Very lucky.
“Can’t believe that fatty survived.” Emi said. “Omg Yusei you must have been so scared.” a random girl spoke to Yusei playing with his jacket. “You’re so sweet to take her to the hospital.” another girl commented while playing with his hair. You were shocked. He didn’t even try to stop them. “You must be so stressed from the accident.” a third girl said touching his chest. You left the room without him noticing you. “I’m sorry ladies but I’m taken by Y/n. The girl from the accident.” He pushed them off. “H-He’s such-how could he?” You said speaking to a friend who picked you up.Jaden. “Cool off then you can call him out on it.” He suggested. “ he said he loves me. Then he’s with some random girls.” You cried remembering all the times of when girls bullied you. Maybe they were right. Maybe no one will love me. I’m a loser. I’m a nobody. I’m just a fat and ugly person you thought. “We’re here.” He said helping you inside. “Thanks Jaden. I appreciate it.” You said as he helped you sit down.
The next day Yusei showed up. You slapped the living crap out of him. “You stupid piece of shit! You asshole how dare you show up! You played me!! Is it because you felt sorry for me!? Guess what I don’t need your pitty! I know I’m fat! I know I have a big stomach and thick thighs. I know I’m not the best looking.” You yelled crying. Jaden also showed up. “U-Uh I’ll come back later.” He said holding snacks and food. “Get inside Jaden.” You ordered. “Y-yes dude? Girl? ma’am?” He hurried on inside. “What are you talking about it y/n? I came because I want to see my girlfriend! You!” Yusei yelled. “You were with 3 other girls! Don’t act stupid! I saw you! They were all up in your business and you didn’t stop them. You nasty dog! I’m not your girlfriend anymore! I’m breaking up with you!” You yelled crying then slammed the door at his face and locked it. “Y/n! Let me explain! It’s not what you think it is! I love you!” Yusei said banging on the door. “Don’t come back here! Don’t you dare ever talk to me again!” You yelled. Jaden was so shocked to even hear you guys arguing. You both ate trying to get past what just happened. Yusei left. He was angry. He’s never felt so much rage in him.
3 weeks went by. Your casts were finally removed. You were ready to leave the house to meet up with Jaden but Yusei showed up. “ I wanted things to cool down…Y/n I’m in love with you. I really am. You didn’t see the rest of it. I pushed them away. I told them you’re my girlfriend…Y/n please believe me…I know what you told me that day..was because you were livid..I love you. I don’t care about your appearance. You’re wonderful. I love using your tummy as a pillow. It’s soft. I love how I feel your thighs when I carry you. I love all of you. How you smile. The way you laugh. It’s cute how you giggle. Your cheeks turn red when you do. I love how your hand feels in mine. Most of all I love how happy you look when you duel on your runner. I see how much you love it. Which is why I always ask to have a race day every Friday just us two. No distractions. I’m in love with you. Please believe me. I’d never cheat on you. You’re my everything. I don’t care what other people think. It’s just you and me Y/n.” He said holding your hands. Squeezing them a bit. He felt nauseous thinking you won’t forgive him because you’re very headstrong. “I love you too. I’m sorry for accusing you. I’m sorry my insecurities got in the way. I’m in love with you.” You said. You both kissed passionately. You felt your heart burst with love. It’s like nothing else mattered in the world. Everything around you was in pause. Just you both in the moment. You loved every second of it. “Mhm princess you’re so wonderful.” He said after you pulled away. “Thanks”you responded pecking his cheek. He held you close not wanting to ever let go. He remembered so many little things that made him happy with you. That made him fall hard. “I love you.” You both said in unison.

I’m so blind by likeysoob
Episode 1
Tumblr media
“You ever thought high school would be easy?” My mom looked up from her phone to answer me. “Oh no sweetheart. I always thought it was going to be hard.” At least I’m tying to look for some hope before high school starts. I look down at the table just being lost in my thoughts until my mom puts a plate of food in front of my face. “Thanks mom.” I said then begun to eat.
When I finished with my food, I went upstairs to lay in my bed. My eyes started to burn but I didn’t really feel sleepy. As the time rolls around 9pm, i decided to go on my laptop and watch some videos. I really dont have friends. They all left me for some reason. I guess i was boring? They were bad friends anyways. I have online friends but I dont want to talk to them right now.
My cat just lays on the floor by my feet. 2 hours pass by and i start to feel tired. I get up and change into my pjs then lay in my bed. My eyes slowly began to fall as i feel my cat snuggle by my feet. I hope that tomorrow will be a good first day of high school.
Tumblr media
Well, i woke up not good. My body hurts and i really dont know why. My mom was yelling at me saying i was late and now…“ I CANT BELIEVE YOU SLEPT THROUGH 3 OF YOUR ALARMS Y/N!” Yeah…she still is. I didn’t say nothing back and just let her continue. Soon, we were close the school and she was talking about basic high school stuff. Once we’re here, i unbuckle my seat belt and open the door to leave. “Oh and! No talking to boys! No boys!” I turn around towards her and smirk, “wasn’t planning on to mom!” I watch her drive off and smile to myself. “That’s because i like girls…”
When i reached the main doors, i took a look around. “Why is this school so big?” “I know right!?” I jump back in fear. I turn my full view onto the person next to me. Holy shit. Who sneaks up on someone like that? “Oh sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you!” The random girl apologized. I dont give 2 shits though. “Um yeah…it’s whatever.” I say, the girl smiles at me, man she’s pretty. “I’m Ning Yi Zhuo but just call me Ning!” She takes out her hand for me to shake and i do. “This is my 2nd year here and I’m still not use to how big it is…are you new here?” Ning asks me. “Um yeah actually, i just got here and yes, i do know where my classes are.” She smiles at me. “Great! I’ll see you around! The bell is about to ring!” Ning runs off. I actually don’t know where my classes are, i just don’t want to talk to people right now. I walk inside the school doors and turn the corner to see some boys already fighting. “Man it’s too early for this shit..”
After running around this whole school, i bump into someone who was clearly right in front of me…why am i so blind? I should really get glasses. I look up and see this girl with short hair. Damn, shes cute, why are there so many cute girls here?! “Oh im so sorry!” She said and i shake my head, “no it’s my fault, I wasn’t watching where i was going!” God this is embarrassing. “It’s fine!” She says, we stand there in silence. “Uh, sorry i got to go!” I ran out of that situation the fastest i can. Where the fuck can I find this class?
I soon found the class. Should i go in? Class ends in 10 minutes. As I’m deciding, the door swings open and a student walks by me. I look inside and the teacher is staring at me. “Sorry I’m…late?” You know, it really looks like i was skipping from the teachers point of view. “I’m sorry, im new here? I was having trouble finding my class…” the teacher only looks at me. The fuck? Bitch speak. I give him a side eye and go sit on an empty desk, hopefully it wasn’t that persons desk that just left right now. The teacher continues on with his lesson, im not sure what class this even is. I turn to the right of me a see this girl with light pinkish hair. All she does is smile at me and looks up to the teacher.
The bell rings, i get up from my chair and grab my bag. Before i could take a step out the classroom, someone calls for me. “Hey! You!” I turn around to see that pinkish haired girl from before. “Yeah?” I respond to her, “I’m Rei, what’s your name?” Her voice is pretty, “oh um im y/n!” I say awkwardly. Omg my voice cracked, im going to die now. “Pretty name, you’re like really pretty! You like to sing or dance?” It feels so overwhelming what she just said, my name pretty? me being pretty? “Yeah i really love singing!” I itched my neck. Great i look like a fool who doesn’t know how to talk. “That’s great! Me and my friends are trying to gain members for this music competition and id like for you to join!” She says while pulling something out of her backpack to give it to me, it’s a flyer. “See you around!” She walks off. I look down at the flyer she gave me.
Tumblr media
Wow…the girl on the flyer is really beautiful….like really. Wait, they don’t even have what day!? I guess I’m going to have to message them. I put the flyer into my backpack and go to my next class.
Tumblr media
The rest of the day was boring. No one interesting in my classes, rude ass teachers, and nasty lunch. Didn’t expect to the lunch to be this shit when this school is so big. So now I’m in my bed just laying down waiting for my mom to come home. I think high school will be easy, like what’s even going to happen this year? My life is boring.

Lend Me Your Voice(band!Eren x fem!reader) pt.3
Tumblr media
Basically, Eren is a douchey frontman of the rock band “Titans”. This will be a 4 part slightly angsty mini-series, with a shameless little OC self-insert as Eren’s sister Kai in part 2 and 3 bc I have no self-control when it comes to Levi~ I hope you enjoy it!!
MINORS DNI!!!!
|| Part 1 || Part 2 ||
DISCLAIMER: THIS PART BEGINS WITH HEAVY HEAVY ANGST WITH A LOT OF TW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TW: Eren is an asshole to reader, very minor character death for backstory purposes, swearing/dirty talk, yandere elements if you squint, and for this part specifically there is physical abuse/domestic violence, blood, choking, sex work, triggering language/actions, PTSD style flashback, basically we learn why Eren is the way he is
“It’s been a long time since Mommy left, I watched three Scooby-Doo movies and she isn’t home yet! She said she’d be home after two of them, where is she??”
A small, scared, newly turned 6 years old Eren thought as he watched the front door like a hawk. Today was his birthday, and his mother had promised she wouldn’t be gone the whole day for it. But six hours later, she was still gone.
He had no idea what was truly going on, all he knew was what his mother said.
The Bad Man had left with her again, the one who was awfully mean to him and his big sister Kai whenever he was around. He hated that man.
Not even the birthday cake his sister made him helped. He knew it would taste bad, all they had to eat was ramen noodles, so he didn’t want to know what she’d used to make the cake. But, so he didn’t make her sad, he blew out the candle when she sang to him and mustered a weak little smile.
“It’ll be okay, Rennie. Mom will be home soon, and if that jerk is with her, I’ll protect you.” Kai promised, ruffling his hair. But truth be told, she was just as scared as he was.
“I hate that guy!! He hit me when I spilled my juice the other day, and it wasn’t even my FAULT!!” He was upset, more upset in such complex ways that a child should never have to experience.
His sister was about to comfort him again when the dilapidated front door finally swung open, revealing their mother and the Bad Man.
Their mother looked distressed, more so than usual, and the asshole next to her looked more enraged than usual. There was something wrong, something bad was going to happen, it was in the air.
“You dumb fucking bitch, I told you, no less than $1200 was to be made before you could call it a night!! DIDN’T I?!” The Bad Man roared in his usual domineering and intimidating tone, slapping their mother hard in the face.
“I-I’m sorry, I just- I promised Eren I’d be home for his birthday! I made $800, I figured that would be enough, please- not in front of the kids, please honey!” Their mother pleaded with him, wiping the blood from her lip as she trembled.
Anxiety and panic tightened his chest, and he squeezed his sister’s hand in raw fear. He wanted to speak, to stand up for himself and his family, but he was frozen, as if his jaw had been wired shut and his limbs were cemented where he sat.
“That little pussy needs to learn how to be a man!! Can’t always be crying for his fuckin’ mommy, the little shit needs to learn! Fuck his birthday, fuck those kids!! I SAID 1200!!!!!” He continued to hit their mother, kicking the front door shut to avoid nosy neighbors intervening again.
All Eren and his sister could do was watch, they were no match for that man, and their mother made them promise to never get involved so they didn’t get hurt too.
But the second he saw his mother fall to the floor from the force of a punch to her jaw, followed by a kick to her ribs, he forgot all about his fear.
“STOP IT!!!! LEAVE MOMMY ALONE!!!!!!!” He screamed as loud as his little lungs would let him, running up to do something, only to be slapped away with full strength by the adult male.
He whimpered when he saw blood on his hand from the split in his cheek, the ring the man wore making direct contact. As any normal child would do, Eren began to cry. It hurt, he was scared, and he had no concept of this situation other than terror.
“You wanna get your ass beat, you little shit?! HUH?!?!” The man screamed in his face, grabbing the child up by the neck.
“NO!! Let him go, take it out on me, please!! Don’t hurt the kids, PLEASE!” Their mother begged, crawling and wincing as she reached her arm out.
The man scoffed with a villainous grin, dropping Eren to the ground, and instead grabbed their mother up by the throat.
“Fine, I think I’ll do that,” he focused his glare back to the terrified and bleeding little boy, something extra sinister in his voice when he spoke next, “he’s gonna learn today that his precious, useless ‘mommy’ won’t always be there to help him. Time to be a man, you little piss-ant.”
That was all the warning he gave, before proceeding to beat their mother to death before Eren and his sister’s very eyes.
When the police showed up and arrested him, paramedics taking their mother’s body away, Eren managed to grab the picture of him and his mom from the last year’s birthday before the police took him and his sister to the station.
~
Eren was snapped out of his usual flashback by Jean snapping his fingers in front of his face, and he blinked a few times before scowling in his usual facade of couldn’t-be-bothered.
“Fuck you want, Jean?” He snipped, jadeite eyes boring into the bassist’s now mildly fearful ones.
“We’re talking about the new album, thought our literal frontman would want to know the songs he’s gonna be singing.” Jean sassed, before softening just a little, lowering his voice before speaking next, “You okay, man?”
There it was again, that fucking sympathetic look, the one he hated the most. As if he were some helpless god damned woodland animal. He was Eren fucking Yeager, invincible and adored frontman of the most popular rock group in the world. The last thing he needed was sympathy, especially from the likes of that Kentucky Derby-looking bastard Jean.
Truth be told, deep down, Eren just didn’t know how to accept it. To him, all it did was show weakness if he opened up or talked about his issues. He didn’t need that shit. He wasn’t weak.
“Get out of my face and I’ll be just fine. Try a mint, too.”
His tone was devoid of feeling, just like his expression. Crossing his arms, he leaned back in his chair and kicked his boots up onto the table, crossing his ankles as he lit up a cigarette.
“Fuck you, dude. God forbid someone tries to be a friend to you, right?” Jean rolled his eyes, taking his seat next to Connie.
As Levi prattled on about the tracklist, saying they needed at least thirteen, or something stupid like that, Eren zoned out again.
What was y/n up to right now? Were you thinking about him? Would you like the new album? Tch, you were probably thinking about Connie.
“Oi, Caillou,” he called for the man in question once Levi finished talking, blowing smoke from his nose, “still chasin’ after y/n? Or did she finally reject you?”
“Why do you care, asshole?” Connie bit right back, sick of this bullshit, “Wish it was you she was texting right now??”
“Like I give a shit about a groupie’s attention. I have a thousand sluts in my DM’s right now and you have one. You’ll never be me.”
Of course he gave a shit, a lot of shits actually. It drove him fucking insane that he wasn’t the one you were chasing after, and he’d be damned if he lost you to Connie bald-headed Springer.
“Thank god for that.” The drummer gave a dramatic sigh of relief, before flipping Eren off, “Y/n will be here later after the concert, hope that doesn’t get your panties in a fuckin bunch. And I swear to god, if you say anything to her, I’ll beat the shit out of you. Got it??”
The threat only amused the lead singer, and he smirked around the filter of his Marlboro Red.
“Oh yeah? Well, miracles happen every day, don’t they?” His voice was mocking, and he stubbed his smoke out on the table, “Enjoy the taste of my dick when you go down on her. And use three fingers, she loved that shit. Hope she doesn’t accidentally scream my name instead of yours, would be pretty damn funny though.”
With that final quip, he made his way to his room on the bus, slamming and locking the door behind him. He flopped onto the bed, reaching for the flask under the mattress and taking a swig, sighing at the burn of the whiskey in his throat.
Interrupting you and Connie?? Well, that sounded like a mighty fine plan to him.
Whether Eren knew it, or you knew it, you belonged to him. He had you first, and despite the show he put on during your hookup, he was gonna do whatever it took to get your attention back to him.
Watch out, y/n, Hurricane Yeager is heavy on your radar.

mommy issues!JK
your hand has a beautiful diamond ring on it. a ring she didn’t even notice the first time ji-yeon met you and let’s just say, she’s extremely disappointed in her son. she took some time to do a little research on you and let’s just say, you’re exactly what she thought you were.
your only redeeming quality is your amazing athletic ability with your back to back wins in figure skating but besides that, you’re just a local. anyone can be maternal, that’s nothing special but jungkook has brainwashed himself into thinking you’re this heaven sent angel when you’re just a plain girl from the streets of gwangju.
you’re nothing special.
“well why don’t you tell your family that, y/n? tell them the good news about your pregnancy and how you’re engaged to my naive son whose heart was healed by your magical pussy”
before you can clap back, your mother reveals herself—your whole family is here. your mother, father, and sister. they’re dressed in fancy clothes from head to toe and your mother is shocked.
“y-y/n…you’re pregnant? i’m a grandma?”
“no you’re not. you’ll never—you bailed them out didn’t you? what kind of sick individual are you? you’re just as horrible as my family!” you say to ji-yeon. “all of you are SICK. you’ve treated us like shit our whole lives and still expect us to kiss your feet. i won’t do it and neither will my husband”
your demons are right here and you’re scared out of your mind…your mother can tell.
“oh y/n, i can easily find you now. you can come back home with us or you’ll run away like you usually do. you’ll take the baby, leave your ‘husband’ all by himself, and remain the selfish person i’ve made you to be”
you’ve done it your whole life. running and pushing people away all because you were scared. you’re scared now and running away sounds so tempting but things have changed. you’ve changed.
you found someone who loves you, a place you can call home, and a family you’ll treat three times as better than your family did. you used to think you had to run away—that running would solve all your problems until you met jungkook.
you’re not running away anymore. you won’t.
“who said i was going to run? i’m not scared anymore, mom. i won’t miss you when you’re gone. in fact, i’ll be happy”
“he’s going to drive you crazy. he’s a killer. you saw the way he shot ji-cheol”
you shrug. “i’m used to crazy. i lived with you after all”
your mother slaps you across your face really hard. “YOU ARE A DISRESPECTFUL, WASTE OF—I SHOULD HAVE KILLED YOU WHEN YOU WERE BORN!!”
~🫧
red.
Before anyone of you can process what has happened, Jungkook steps up and pushes your birth giver really hard that she falls onto the ground.
“YOU FUCKING PATHETIC, OLD BITCH HOW DARE YOU SLAP MY YN LIKE THAT?! HAVE SOME SHAME SHE’S PREGNANT!” Everyone is now watching the scene, shocked gasps fill the room, “I wish you died when you gave birth to her! WHY DON’T YOU DIE HUH!?”
Your father tries to step in but jungkook immediately pushes him away too. “NO ONE TOUCHES THE MOTHER OF MY CHILDREN AND GETS AWAY WITH IT! THE ONLY THING YOU EVER DID RIGHT WAS GIVING BIRTH TO HER YOU PATHETIC BITCH!”
Jungkook starts to laugh, “oh no, I’m not a killer yet, but I will become one after I kill every single one of you for hurting her! SHE CAN BE WITH THAT ABUSER, BUT SHE CAN’T BE WITH ME?! YOU GUYS ARE NOT PARENTS BUT YOU ARE THE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL!”
“so you’d rather watch your daughter, be abused by her pathetic ex but not be loved by me? YN YOU ARE THE UNLUCKIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE WORST PARENTS!”
After insulting your parents to the core, he focuses his attention back onto his mother.
The one he loved so much.
“And YOU. You are not my mother anymore, Mrs Jeon! HOW DARE YOU BAIL OUT HER PARENTS?” He screams, going insane as he pulls you back to his side.
His mother has broken his heart into pieces. “AND THE TRUTH IS MRS LN THAT YOU MADE YOUR DAUGHTER A RUNNER!” He glares at your mother, scoffing.
“Let me guess- you bailed out JI-CHEOL too.” This is so humiliating, your parents are actually the most fucked up people in the world, but his parents are no less.
“You should be ashamed of yourself for wishing death on your pregnant daughter- YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE A GRANDMOTHER TO OUR DAUGHTER! AND MOM YOU TOO!”
His mother wanted to make a scene and humiliate you. so now he will make a scene that nobody will forget And humiliate her and your parents.
“EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS PATHETIC FAMILY! THESE PEOPLE SUPPORT ABUSE OF THEIR DAUGHTER WHO IS WITH ME NOW BY THE HANDS OF HER EX-BOYFRIEND!”

Cw for swearing cause even 9 yr old me had a potty mouth. (I come by it honestly 🙏) Get ready for emma to absolutely ROAST Vicky, btw.
(P.S if yall wanna see more of emma let me know I’d be happy to write more of her and Ray too 🙏)
Operation: birthday takeback
Dev’s 10th birthday is today, and he invited the whole class. The party started at 3:00. It was currently 2:30 and Emma was freaking out.
“Oh no! The parties in half an hour and I haven’t left yet! I hope I’m not late!” She hurriedly finished putting on her shoes and then rushed out the door, yelling a quick goodbye to her parents.
A 10 minute walk later, Emma arrived, ringing the doorbell.
****
Dev was setting up for his birthday party. It was in about 20 minutes so he was just putting out the finishing touches, like the snacks. Then, he was startled slightly by the loud RRRIIINGGG of his doorbell.
‘That’s odd. The party hasn’t even started yet, who could that be?’ He thought, setting the napkins down and confusedly heading downstairs to open the door for whoever it was.
***
After a moment, a very confused Dev opened the door.
“Oh, hey Dev! Happy birthday! Hope I’m not late!” Emma spoke, nervously rubbing the back of her neck.
“Uh, hi Emma. No you’re not late, you’re actually early. I haven’t even finished setting up yet!”
Emma smiled nervously. “Sorry.. being late makes me anxious. Do you want me to wait outside?”
Dev was taken aback slightly. “No, no, come in.”
“I can help with the set up if you like, it’s your birthday! You shouldn’t be working!”
“Ah, you don’t have too. It’s no big deal. I’m almost done anyway.”
“Oh but I’d love to help!”
Deb rolled his eyes and sighed. Emma always wanted to help people. “Alright, you can go grab the cupcakes. They’re in the kitchen. Put em’ on the snack table upstairs once you have em.”
She smiled, eyes shimmering. “Alright! I’ll be right there!”
“There! All done!” She said, setting down the cupcakes. “Well then, we’re all set up.” Just then, another loud ring of the doorbell echoed. “Ah! And Just in time! I’ll go open the door for whoever’s here.”
——————
Hazel was the last to arrive, and after that a party princess entered. Her name was apparently Vicky.
The party went on normal for a moment, and then Vicky started being cruel. Making everyone do crafts.
After a while of just doing as she was told, Emma hesitated. ‘Why am I listening to this stupid bitch?’
“Why’d you stop! Get back to blowing balloons, twerp!
Emma looked at her incredulously. “No.”
“What do you mean no?” Vicky fumed.
“I mean. No. You too dumb to understand? Let me spell it out for you. N. O. No!”
During this conversation, Hazel gathered her friends and had them hide under the snack table.
“Did you forget that I’m the adult here?”
“No. But you’re not my boss. You can’t make me do anything. What are you gonna do, ground me? You’re not my mom!”
After a moment and an angry growl from the ‘princess’, Emma spoke once more. “Oh! And if you even think of laying a hand on me or my classmates, I’ll call the cops on you for child abuse! In fact.. i could probably do something with child labor laws for what you’ve already been doing… “
Vicky was furious. All the other kids just kept working, too scared to do anything. The friends under the table had made a plan, and were now listening to the argument. Hazel was impressed by Emma’s bravery to stand up for what was right, while Dev was impressed by her willingness to challenge authority. They wanted to wait.. see what they could do with the help of Emma’s incurred wrath.
“You listen here, Twerp! I am the boss here! And I will get you in trouble with your parents if you dare do anything.”
“Um, No, bitch.” She emphasized the swear, causing the whole room to gasp. “Did she just say a bad word?” “Yeah m parents said something about that.. I didn’t know what it was though!” “How did she know the bad words??” The kids still working whispered.
“Oh now I’m definitely calling your parents!”
“And you think that’ll do anything? Pfft, please. I’ll just tell them what you’re doing.”
“And you think they’ll believe you?! A little kid?”
“They’ll probably believe their own kid over some rando ass adult who’s throwing more tantrums than a toddler at the prospect of doing her own work. Like god, woman, get an actual life.”
There was a chorus of “OOOOOOOO” ‘s.
“SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU!” the rest of the kids hushed.
Vicky steamed and stomped her high-heeled feet. Realizing she couldn’t do anything, she angrily yelled out a “Fine! You can stop working stupid twerp!”
“Thanks. I’m soooo grateful.” Emma’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “Oh how will I ever thank you, my oh so gracious majesty? Hahahhaaa!” She mocked, laughing at her own sarcasm, walking away. She had seen movement by the snack table and had a feeling she should check it out.
She walked over there, as Vicky continued to rule her power over the rest of the kids who were too scared to do what emma did.
Then she was pulled under the table by Hazel.
“That was so cool emma!” She whispered, a humm of agreement going around.
“Yeah! I didn’t know you could even be that mean!” Jasmine exclaimed softly, pleasantly surprised.
“Oh, I have a total change in attitude when someone deserves it.”
Dev laughed. “Ahahand that curse word! How did you feel comfortable using that!”
“Oh I’ve known all the swear words since I was born, my parents have total sailor mouths! They’re kinda just normal to me.” Emma shrugged. After everyone was done congratulating Emma, they filled her in on the plan.
“I mean, I think handled her but this sounds fun so why not!”
After a series of traps, The final one was in position. They decided that since it was a small space, they would have Winn and Jazz hide under the bed, and have Emma as their back-up hiding in the back corner of the room.
After the trap went wrong, Hazel and Deb were tied up, and Vicky was about to enter the elevator with Winn and Jasmine, the backup came in to play.
“And don’t even think about escaping! Or else!”
Emma popped out of hiding to the middle of the room.
“Or else what?” She sassed, quickly breaking the ties around Dev and Hazel. ‘I feel so cool right now!’ Her thoughts echoed excitedly.
Vicky growled, releasing Winn and Jasmine, who stood there not knowing what to do.
“I’ll trap you in here!”
“….shit. Caught me there.”
Dev stayed calm, but everyone else was worried.
“How are we gonna get out of here?! The only way out is the elevator and Vicky is blocking it!”
Dev smirked. “It’s not the only way out. Come on!”
After a chase and some fighting, Dev and Hazel ended up in another room, entering through the giant statue of Dale Dimmadome. Emma, Winn and Jazz were pushed aside as Vicky chased after them.
“Dang it. I didn’t stop her..” Emma sighed.
“Hey, don’t say that! You still helped a lot! Really showed her!” Winn said, patting her on the back lightly.
“Heh, Thanks, Winn.”
——————
After Vicky rushed out the door, Emma called after her.
“And STAY OUT you Worthless, Evil Rip-off princess from wish!!”
Everyone celebrated, and left the party. Dev and Hazel had a fight, apparently, cause Dev didn’t leave the room with Hazel.
Hazel smiled for a moment at Emma as she left. “Good job today, Friend.”
Emma gasped. “Friend? We’re friends?!”
Hazel laughed a little. “Well, messing up an evil party princess is a pretty great bonding experience.”
Emma laughed too, and watched Hazel leave, the smile gone. She waited downstairs for a moment, looking up at where Dev was. She knew she had to leave so she wasn’t late getting home, but right before she left, she grabbed a napkin and a pen and wrote a little note on the table.
“Hey Dev, I don’t know what happened up there with you and Hazel, but I’m always here if you need to talk.
- love (platonically), Emma” with a little heart at the end.
Then she left and walked home. She hoped Dev would be alright. She didn’t know why, but somehow she knew that Dev was just hurting… and she wished she could do something about it.

Speaking of my current mom
I know I’ve been gone for a bit, but I’ve been pretty busy recently so before I get more busy, I’ve decided to write about a memory that’s been popping up tonight. Recently, my PTSD has been pretty chronically bad lately (not really ramping up, but I’ve been having flashbacks daily) and with my depression combined, it’s been hard to write but I’m feeling a bit better today for reasons I’ll go over later in this post, but this post will have something more positive at the end, but trigger warning for temporary abandonment at the beginning. Anyway, let’s get into it!
I think I’ve referencing the fact that I ran away in 7th grade. Many parents assume that when kids run away that “they think they know better” or “they think they can live on their own” and although I can’t say ALL kids have the same reasons, the reason I ran away was to basically die. I knew I wouldn’t make it out there. It was December and it was actually pretty cold. I had no plans to go to a shelter, I just planned on going out to a field and starving to death or whatever I thought I had planned. Unfortunately, I never explained to my birth parents that due to the fact that I knew they’d twist it around on me. My birth father threatened to kick me back out into the blizzard (that was just starting) while my birth mother just told me I was so ungrateful and “grown”.
I won’t go into what happened while I was running away because it’ll be a bit much for me right now, but for weeks after that, my birth mother gave me the silent treatment. The only time she spoke to me was to basically yell at me. Not once did she say I love you back (while I was basically forced to say it because it would be “impolite” and “ungrateful”). I remember her yelling at me one day while dropping me off at school, insinuating that I ruined her marriage. She said basically that she and her husband couldn’t sleep in the same bed anymore “because of what I did”. And the only other time she spoke to me was to yell at me for not saying good morning to her (even though, when I did, she wouldn’t even say anything back).
There’s another post about what happened when she tried to give me the silent treatment a second time, but unfortunately, it was nothing like that post. I was distraught. I wanted her to love me again. I tried to give her what she wanted. I tried to act happy, told her good morning, good night, and I love you. I know I was only a teenager but I still get irritated with younger me around this time like c’mon. Did you really need her love THAT much? :/
Regardless, this only went on until my grandparents came for a visit for winter break, then the bitch had the audacity to go on like she didn’t treat me like shit because I literally was planning to end myself.
The memory that sticks with me along with others during this time was after school. I had no clubs, and I was just waiting on a bench near the door of my middle school. The entrance was full because it was chilly even though the sun was out. People left. I waited an hour. I had adults come up to me and ask if my parents were coming to get me. I said yes. Because I genuinely thought there was no way she’d just abandon me. I honestly thought the whole reason, at the time, that she was angry at me for running away was because she was worried for my safety. I mean, the world isn’t safe for a lonely black girl, right?
So I kept waiting. The adults were getting worried. I waited for two hours. I wanted to text or call her, but I was terrified. Scared that I’d finally get my answer that she didn’t care about me, or scared that I’d get in trouble for bothering her. But, looking back, I think my waiting was an answer enough. Her angry and need for control was more important than her love for me and my own safety. Like I knew she hated me, she literally told that to me to my face when I was 9 but damn, it still hurt. So, after two hours, I just called my birth father. His shock only adding more hurt, because I think it just confirmed it. There was no way I’d be left there without it being deliberate. She was watching tv on the couch when I came home. My brother was already home too. That was actually the only time I was left at school. Because even when she was busy with work, she’d ask the school to allow me on the school bus or one of her friends to pick me up.
To this day, I don’t know how this wasn’t a wake up call. I get angry thinking about myself clinging onto her, begging her to understand and love the real me when I didn’t need it at all. But, hind site is 20/20, and some people don’t realize it until way later in life. This shit stuck with me too. My birth mother was once an hour late picking me up as a freshman during highschool and I nearly had a panic attack. I had to be comforted by my alters by them saying “well you didn’t do anything wrong this time” and it fucking sucks when your safety is dependent on how they feel about you.
Even though I’ve been having this flashback all day, I think the only break I got from it was with my current mom. I got done cooking with her earlier this evening. It was nice. Have you ever had a parental figure that you could tell anything to and not have it used against you? Have you ever had a parental figure worry about you not just physically, but mentally? With my mom, I can just talk about anything. Plans for body modifications, plans for the future, just anything and she’d always be so supportive.
When I fall off of diets, she tells me there’s always next time. When I want to try new foods, she says it doesn’t hurt to try. When I want to cut myself, I can tell her and she’d offer to spend time with me while walking outside or playing video games. If I ever have a problem with her, I tell her. And she’d always take my concerns into consideration. When I talk about me being worried about the golden child amongst my siblings because of my mental health, she’s never called me ungrateful. She always been patient with me, reminding me multiple times about appointment or small things to do when I forget due to my mental illnesses even when it’s exhausting. She doesn’t baby me, but she doesn’t just leave me alone. She gives my siblings and I the same amount of love and attention even though she’s a single mom of three. And she never once compared us to each other. She said she’ll never marry because her last girlfriend emotionally abused us so my mom gave her a black eye and a broken arm.
She always says I’m a handful, but she says she’ll never stop being my mom. She always says she’s in it for the long hall. And, honestly, when grow up with a birth mother whose love is dependent on how good you’re doing in school, if you have a mental illness, if you’re queer, etc. you start appreciating the mom that not only accepts and loves you, but sees you. Like I have someone doesn’t see me as a “smart black female future engineer” when I get an A or a “selfish, prideful, dramatic, attention seeking princess” when I self harm or get a C in class, I have someone that ALWAYS just sees me, whether it’s good or bad.
Anyway, sorry for rambling and getting all mushy near the end. It just feels nice and I just feel like I don’t appreciate my mom enough. And I know it probably looks like the bar is literally on the floor, but I also want to be grateful for what I have and not always focus on what I don’t have. So, thank you so much for reading and good night.
