what kind of music do YOU listen to

I’ve kind of realized that i’m mildly picky about what I listen to? Either that or it’s just bc I am extremely dependent on what kind of vibes I’m in the mood for + if whatever song fits said vibe

According to spotify my top genre was broadway, which I don’t completely agree with bc I have a friend who would 100% say ‘no you loser you aren’t that into broadway’ but also she’s just into show tunes way more than anything else. Ig it’s a vibes thing more than an actual ‘this has been shown on broadway’

Though I do love musicals, i’m kind of basic since I’ve only ‘watched’ hamilton (disney+ version when it was turned into a movie). But i’ve listened to some of the more popular songs from Dear Evan Hanson, Heathers, Be More Chill, Legally Blonde, and others that are just popular songs. A few years ago I watched a TON of animatics so I think that’s kind of where it came from.

Another thing that’s not as vibe specific is orchestra/band stuff. I love love LOVE when a live orchestra and/or wind ensemble gets incorporated into music. Cody Fry was my top artist this year, and basically all his songs have an orchestra in it minus his older albums and ITS SO COOL. I play clarinet (and bass clarinet) so that’s where that appreciation comes from. I also just like, wind ensemble music. Gustav Holst (second suite in f major) is a piece I played last year and I absolute fell in love with it. Samuel Hazo is also a super good composer and he has a gigantic roster. I played two pieces of his last year, ‘Arabesque’ and ‘Solas Annes (Yesterday’s Joy)’ Going back to Holst I can 100% appreciate his planets suite.

For that kind of music though, it helps if i’ve played the piece cause then I’m like ‘hehe I know this and THIS SPOT WAS SUPER HARD ARGHHHH’ but music is super fun.

OH ALSO I’m a choir kid (basically just a fine arts kid in general) so i’ve listened to some choral pieces too just cause I like how they were performed and I like how they sound. I’m a band kid first and foremost though.

Also I listen to a lot of game soundtracks, bc instrumentals are just peak, and they vibe pretty easy since I mostly listen to soundtracks that i’ve played before. (Minecraft, Omori, Stardew Valley, Breath of the Wild, Undertale, Deltarune, etc)

Sirius was fast asleep next to you but you couldn’t sleep, you were wide awake. You were too busy staring down at him, not believing you had the chance to call him yours. Whenever you were by his side, you felt your heart beat faster as if your blood was full of sugar. You had a sweet tooth for him.

Making sure you were quiet, you let your finger trail on his skin, slowly tracing the drawings on his inked skin. You knew every line and curve of his tattoos, you had memorised them. Every time you both lay down, you observed them, kissed them, coloured them even. Without thinking, you attached your lips to the tattoo on his chest.

“What a way of waking up,” Sirius mumbled with a smile on his face. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his. “Hi, darling,” he said, kissing your temple softly as his hand ran through your hair.

“Hi, Siri,” you replied, “I’m sorry it’s really early.” You pecked his lips, hoping it will be enough to be forgiven.

Sirius laughed “It’s okay, being next to you will always be my favourite thing in the world,” he grinned, rubbing his nose with you.

You felt your cheeks heating up. It had been months since you’d been dating but his sweet words still had the same effects on you. You smiled at him a stupid, lovesick smile “I like you so much.” Say it back was your first thought.

You were really insecure about yourself and you never thought you would be able to have Sirius as your boyfriend. And sometimes you were scared he wouldn’t love you anymore.

“I like you more, my darling,” he grinned. You knew it was false. You loved him more than Moony loved his chocolate. More than Wormtail loved to snuggle into big sweaters. More than Prongs loved Lily.

Sirius saw the look on your face. The look that meant you didn’t believe him. “I like you exactly the way you are”

“I find it hard to understand”

“Why that?” he held you tighter, rolling both of you onto the bed, hovering over you “You’re funny, you’re brilliant and not to mention really fucking hot,” he smirked, trailing small kisses from your neck to your shoulder.

So I’ve finished Moominvalley season 2 (2019) and my god I loved it but it hurt me so much in return holy wow. Anyway if you’d like some of my thoughts about it feel free to keep reading ^-^

(fair warning it’s a lot longer than I thought it’d be)

Episode 2 the fire spirit got me so bad in my feelings and even funnier yet I could tell it would by not only the title and thumbnail but the second I heard the song by cavetown I literally was like ‘hm it sounds like something by cavetown…This should be fine’

oh how wrong I was because of how it ended with the little fire spirit sacrificing itself to save Moominvalley and how upset Snufkin was, he seemed to be pretty attached to the lil goober when the gang dropped it off.

So having his care and attempts to protect it, be basically for nothing would’ve been soul crushing for him.

Holywow I loved how the Hobgoblin and Sniff were just bouncing off eachother so well. Then the Hobgoblin giving Sniff ✨EMPATHY✨ my god that was amazing, especially with how Moominpapa and Little My were like “ew get away from me”

I love how the Groke is now just becoming a more casual part of the community especially with the trial episode, like don’t get me wrong they’re still uneasy with her presence but they still wanted to give her a fair trial and everything.

Ooooh no the ✨The bad feelings✨ I was having about Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll were riiiighttttt. Moomintroll seemed more angry about having to leave the valley (and Snufkin by association) than leaving Snorkmaiden to the point he was unintentionally hurting her. Twice. Technically thrice if you include the fact they broke up. But I’m glad that Moomintroll is beginning to learn that he’s gonna have to accept a couple of things about Snufkin, if he ever wants him to stay. But still kinda hurts a bit.

I loved that Moominpapa and Moominmama have character arcs that don’t involve getting divorced, it’s refreshing and sure they still fight and have moments being mad at eachother but at the end of the day they still love each other and honestly? I love them for that.

Ah Moominpapas midlife crisis, I hope that I can be able to just pack up and go when I hit mine. Sounds like the dream honestly and I wish I could be as creative as Moominmama, just painting the walls with no worries.

I also LOVED the sea shanties just 👌😩 it brings me so much joy because there was a good chunk of time where that’s all I’d listen too.

The last episode though also gave me a gut punch because of the fact Snufkin came back before he left for the winter, and that he just welcomes himself in because he knows that they wouldn’t mind him being there, regardless of if they are or not. I hate it here. Snufkin you found family fuck. And that everyone there played ‘The Moomin Family’ for the kid.

“Have you checked his bedroom yet?”

“Naturally c:”

of course you have you absolute loser I love you for that. Seeing him get so excited about possibly finding HIS letter, only to be disappointed was devastating too.

Oh but the puppet show, oh when I tell you I almost cried, It’s even sadder that Moomintroll (seemingly) isn’t going to back to Moominvalley. Also my heart dropped to my ass when they almost lit the fire with the ancestors inside, but Snufkin excitedly finding the note inside the fireplace? Put my heart right back in my throat

But more lightheartedly damn Snufkin has got some moves and seeing everyone close to the Moomin family looking back at their time and memories together fondly was so incredibly sweet.

Anyways TL;DR a super strong season that got me right in the feels every time, I’m so excited to be able to start the 3rd season soon!! But thank you so much for reading this! I hope you have a wonderful day, night or time and take care!!

Uhm I saw your post about writing fics and maybe you'd be interested in an Annabeth x reader (gn or fem) please? There are too little. A funny idea is the reader thinking they're literally the coolest person ever but they're actually on the cuter side. Like it's so obvious but she doesn't say anything because it's so cute

The orange and pink hues of the sunrise lit up the arena. I was up ungodly early due to a particularly bad nightmare. Perks of being a demi-god am I right? Since I knew I wouldn’t be getting any more sleep, I decided I would get in some extra sword fighting practice. I was completely focused on the movement of my sword when I heard a loud voice yell, “Hey y/n! You showing off for me?” Annabeth shouted at you as she lent against the fence of the training area.

Her exclamation caught me off-guard making my head turn quickly and my grip on the sword loosen. I was able to gather myself and I lent on my sword and tried to be smooth by saying, “Oh, Annabeth, I didn’t see you there.” But as I did this the sword slipped out from under me making me loose my footing. I started tilting to the side, but then two arms grabbed me and put me back upright.

“Falling for me already?” Annabeth said with a slight smirk on her face.

This made my ears go a little pink. “You tend to have that affect on people, Chase.” My eyes went wide, I could barely believe I had just said that. I had been pining over her for the past three years and never had I been this brazen before.

Annabeth brushed back a strand of my hair and said, “Only on you, I hope.” She removed her hand from my face before sending me a soft smile and walking away.

The door slammed against the wall of the Aphrodite cabin as I rushed in. I was out of breath and slightly sweating from running.

“Trying to break down our door?” I heard from across the room.

“Silena? Is that you?” I called out for my friend as I stepped through the cabin.

“Y/N! You look awful.” I’m sure I did but that wasn’t my top priority at the moment.

“I need your romance expertise.”

She beamed at me before standing and putting her hands on my shoulders. “You’ve come to the right place!”

I felt ridiculous. I was wearing a flowing summer dress with sandals and my hair down. Not exactly peak fighting apparel, but Silena promised it would help my chances with Annabeth.

“Y/N?” Speak of the devil. I turned around to see Annabeth looking me up and down with confusion written all over her face.

“Oh! Hey Annabeth!” I said while fidgeting with my dress.

“You look…different.”

“Is that a bad thing?”

“No! Of course not! You just seem uncomfortable. Not like yourself.”

I looked down in embarrassment.

Annabeth grabbed my hands and asked, “Is everything alright?” I silently shook my head as I kept my eyes cast on the ground.

“You can talk to me, you know that right?” She was so sweet, trying to comfort me.

I didn’t know what to say, it wasn’t like I could say, “Don’t worry Annabeth, it’s nothing, I’m just deeply in love with you and you don’t feel the same way.” That wouldn’t work, instead what came out was, “I can’t tell you about this though…” I finally looked into her eyes and I saw a mix of emotions, confusion, sympathy, and…love? “I can’t tell you, because it would change everything.”

She put her hand on my cheek and said, “Sometimes things are meant to change.” Then she lent in and kissed me. At first my eyes went wide and my hands were limp against my body, then my brain realized what was happening and grabbed her face as I kissed her back. After a moment she detached her lips from mine and moved her hands down to hold my own. I looked at her with awe.

“I really like you Annabeth.” I said as I stared at her.

“That’s good, or otherwise that would not have been the right thing to do,” she said and we both laughed lightly. “I really like you too, Y/N.”

This time I lent in and kissed her.
