hi again!! i love your farmer callum and I was wondering if he had a backstory? like what his life was before moving the valley?

Thank youuuuuuu :3c his story is still a work in progress but! This got me thinking, so here’s a few lore bits about Callum!

Every year when he was a young kid, before school started up again, Callum would visit his grandpa for a few weeks in the late summer. It was his favourite time of year. He’d help (as much as a little kid could) around the farm, but took a particular interest in the working with the animals over the crops. His grandpa noticed this, and definitely encouraged it :)

His teenage years were… interesting. Lots of arguments, teenage rebellion, defiance, and self discovery. The relationship he had with his parents was heavily tested during this time, and it still affects his current ‘relationship’ with his father, or what’s left of one.

This kinda continued into his adulthood- with unresolved teenage grief, he felt really directionless and lost entering the adult world. Trying anything and everything hoping it would stick as a career, and unfortunately he got stuck in the gruelling corporate grind with Joja™️.

When he finally decided to stop being a cog in “the rich get richer” machine and moved to Pelican Town, he had a lot of spiked nerves and anxiety, still angry at the world. Was this a good idea? How did he possibly think he could do this?

He spent the first week and a half exclusively on the farm, and a particular amount of time at his grandpas grave/shrine. Talking to him as if he was there, sitting silently, cursing himself or his decision, crying, whatever came to mind. He never really got to say goodbye, and it still bothers him to this day.

Makuu has my favorite character arc of any tlg character, and I love watching him grow throughout the show!

This was my original human design sketch of him that I never posted!! Makuu going from a brash young leader who would only fight for the crocodiles to someone willing to train other Pridelanders to protect their home?? Goodness I love him so much. Total trans guy energy too.

Hahahaaaaah I adore Kiburi cuz he truly is a slimey bitch. Like he betrayed Makuu, used a mashindano as a distraction for an assassination attempt, then left the float with a bunch of crocs. They left and went to the OUTLANDS too. Like they hung around in the worst place POSSIBLE so I can only imagine that they thought they might have a chance at either rejoining Makuu’s float or taking over their watering holes. If not that then why didn’t they head to the backlands? Why not take over Dhahabu’s watering hole?? They stuck around just to fuck with everyone. Then to serve in Scar’s army with Ushari. And you KNOW they suffered under Scar’s rule.

Makuu is like. Top five tlg characters. I love him. Kiburi is probably top ten. Tamka and Nduli are sweet, and dense as rocks, but I think they're great. Not my favorites by any means, but they’re fun at least!

The Story Continues Whether You Like it or Not, Suckerssss (Rosie + Ichabod)

Ayy, look who finally finished that story I’ve been teasing (and not working on) for way longer than I should have!! Writers block hit hard with this one, chat, but I hope it’s still good nonetheless. <33

Also: this one is a bit longer than normal (about double the length of my average drabble, to be honest), and it has art ( y i p p e e ), so for those of you who don’t want the awkwardness of scrolling through an entire blog to read a story. I’d recommend heading over to Wattpad for this one.

This edition to “The Adventures of Rosie and Ichabod” is gonna take us back in time a little bit. Prior to Ichabod’s creation, Rosie- a six-year-old here- makes some…questionable decisions. We love her, though. She’s fine. She’s gonna be absolutely fine, and she’s not gonna face any consequences for her actions, and everyone’s gonna be FINE-

Was she going to regret this when she got home? Well, it was a possibility. 

But hey, when Rosie made a threat, everyone who knew her understood that it wasn't a threat. 

It was a promise. 

Rosie's student jumper matched the colour of syrup, shining in all its deviously-sweet glory as the sun meandered down the hills surrounding her home city. The lack of natural light, combined with the sheer amount of people buzzing about downtown, created an almost suffocating lack of light and air for our impish subject. Despite these hardships, though, she marched ever deeper into the sea of sweat and skin. Her waning energy was spent on making sure that each breath she took was as deep as it was calculated. Thank goodness Rosie knew her destination like the back of her hand; though her resolve was tough, it wasn't quite impeccable in situations like these.

To be truthful, Rosie had every right to be scared witless. Even if she was well over a head taller than the average child in her first-year class, she was still a mere dot compared to the foot traffic all around her. But, then again, why should she fret? She still had nearly an hour before she was due to be home; Mama and Father wouldn't suspect a thing if she were careful in her quest. 

Besides, if life had taught her anything in her six years on Earth, it was that spite was a most reliable fuel. 

Just as it always had been...especially this morning.

...Well. Let's slow this down a bit. 

You see, just after Rosie's birth, her father had received a government grant that would change their family's entire life. Apparently, it had been his lifelong dream to create some semblance of ease for their uber-industrialised city. The people here had always been up to their ears in ideas for helpful inventions, but with a severe lack of execution (and safety) to boot. It was because of this lack that Rosie's father set about creating a "companion" for mankind- an individual who could withstand extreme working conditions- and carry out the visions of man's imagination- all while maintaining a cordial, loving personality. 

He wished to create a robot.

Robots had already been created in the past, of course, the prototypes of which were older than Father himself. But their sentience was limited to their work and nothing more; emotions were mostly unheard of in the world of programming. That is, until Father stepped onto the scene. He vowed to the local government that, come hell or high water, he could make robots mean more to the town (no, the whole world) than just metal exteriors and high heat tolerances. 

And, by golly, they must have seriously enjoyed what he proposed. 

Six years later, and Rosie's family was more well-off than ever before. They had a fancy home all to themselves, along with a five-story, government-issued warehouse set smack in the middle of the downtown district. It was all Father had been able to talk about for at least three years after he received it. According to him, it was equipped with all the latest industrial equipment, more employees than he knew what to do with...and its very own welding workshop. 

The latter of these, however cutting-edge it may be, was the reason Father had banned her from stepping foot in the workshop until further notice. Something about extreme heat, glass…things that, frankly, she could care less about.

Thus, in that same vein, it was the reason she refused to listen to this ban. 

And the reason she found herself slowing to a stop now...right in front of Father's steel-and-glass sentry. 

Rosie felt a twinge in her gut at the recollection of her and Father’s squabble that morning, but it went away the second she remembered her threat. Her promise. She felt herself stand a little taller, as if she could touch the very stars, all without even standing on her tippy-toes!

Time to rub the rust off her platinum skies...once and for all. 

My gosh, how did Father find anything in this mess?

You would think that buildings run by government-men would be ship-shape- even Rosie, at her young age, assumed this- but this was not at all the case. Parts of random, yet-to-be-built robots, broken machinery, and other various apparati were strewn about as far as the eye could see. The lights had been dimmed, making the unknown ahead of her that much harder to analyse. In this dull chaos, there was hardly even room to walk, much less track down exactly what she needed...wait. 

Aha!

Rosie's heart jolted, but this time, she welcomed the emotion with open arms. Well, open blinds, rather- she had found a window in the way back of the workshop, and wasted no time in drawing it wide! The last remaining blades of sunlight grazed the mess before her, truly accentuating her father's...work. 

Hm. What could she grab? She wanted to bring home a trophy of sorts, something to present to Father like a prize bouquet, to prove that she could indeed step into danger and walk out unscathed, thank you very much. What scrap would do that job most efficiently...? 

She turned in a slow circle, the ribbons of her felt hat waving in the small breeze she created. Where could she...?

Wait. 

There. 

On an oil-stained table, just to Rosie's left, sat a propped-up robot prototype. It looked to be almost finished, save for a few parts to the robot's side, with notecards detailing their purpose scattered about between them. It was strong, with what looked to be dense aluminum for an exterior, and thick wiring between each sheet of metal. But to Rosie's untrained eye, the whole thing looked...highly experimental.

Well, obviously. She knew that pushing the boundaries had been Father's whole purpose, but gosh. This was a bit...much, wasn't it?

She glanced at the notecards for a moment. This side of the room still hadn’t received much light, so something as thin as handwriting was almost impossible to make out here...but she still recognised one word. It was scrawled, painfully emotional, on each and every one of the cards.

"Failed."

...Maybe...hm.

Rosie slung her school-bag off of her shoulders, surveying how much room she had to spare among her books.

Could she...? Possibly. 

Maybe Rosie could make this mission extend beyond just sheer spite. 

Call her crazy, but hey- she had already made it into the one place she was banned from, hadn't she? 

With Rosie- or any child, to be truthful- when there's a will, there's a way. 

And as the sun set below the hills surrounding her hometown, she made it home to plot in peace...and one small corner of the workshop was bathed in silver-plated starlight...until its window was finally raised.

hello everyone!! i’ve compiled some genshin age headcannons with the help of @interstate35south !!!! because you’re all wrong and i’m SICK of every character only being in their early 20s or several thousand years old with no in between. this will not be nearly the whole cast it’ll probably be like 10 characters or so bc i don’t have time for all that (i’m a liar). ok here we go

- first up let’s talk about ragbros!! this post is gonna be mostly bullet points but we had more to say about these 2. FIRST of all: Diluc was missing for 10 years after Crepus’ death instead of 4. How do i know this?? he told me himself trust me. No but actually him being missing much longer feels more impactful for Diluc and Kaeya’s festering issues they’ve got going on ykwim?? as a wise man (intertstate35south) once said, he’s been gone for 4 years starting at 18?? big whoop that’s just college. Second: Diluc is like 43 ish, kaeya is 40 ish. Diluc came back to mond at ~28 and kaeya was ~25! between then by the time traveler arrives in mond it’s been about 15 years.

- next up cyno tighnari and collei!! i’m ill about them!! i actually have no clue at all what their approximate ages are BUT i’ve seen enough people hc them as being in their mid 20s that i felt the need to make this post in the first place (i am a drama queen)!! in my head i have decided that at the time cyno went to mondstadt to seal collei’s archon residue collei was ~12 (with some wiggle room b/c of how long she was with dottore) and cyno and tighnari were 36 and 34 respectively. as of traveler arriving in sumeru ik sayinf it’s been 3 years and cyno is at 39 and tighnari at 37 and BEFORE YOU TELL ME cyno is the youngest general mahamatra in ages YES that’s true but he could’ve still been the youngest and just been on the job for 15 or so years since being appointed!! he was still appointed young but he wasn’t made general mahatma last week ykwim??

- ok i’m done with the super long ones i’m so sorry for that!! next up we got beidou and ningguang. if i see one more of you call them milfs and then in the same breath say they are twenty seven it will cause the heat death of the universe. to be honest i can see them anywhere in the range of 35-47 i don’t really have a specific one for them!! but seriously stop calling them milfs and also 27 years old you can’t do that

- albedo!! i do think him being immortal and some unspecified very large age would be fun but in the case of him being a normal age even if he is immortal i give him a solid 34-37

- jean and lisa early-mid 40s!! it’s just more fun when lisa has substantially less time left yk it ups the stakes

- less of an age headcanon more of a dumb pet peeve of mine but if ONE more of you mfs calls zhongli an old man and then gives him anime baby face.. lord.
