ok maybe klance is boring cause it’s everywhere and maybe they don’t share too many scenes together so but I don’t really give a shit! look at them! they’re so…klance. i say there’s another few months give or take before my interest in them finally burns out and it stays dormant for like two years before I pick it up again and i go feral over the two because they’re KLANCE

From the ship ask meme! what was your first ship, and what fandom is it from? is there a ship that you used to ship, but don’t anymore? what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion? what is the most overrated ship, in your opinion?
I’m assuming this is for Voltron. This has been sitting on my inbox too for some time. Sorry for that.
what was your first ship?
What initially got me into Voltron was this one K/ance AMV, I’ll admit to that but the ship I fell in love with was Shidge. They had enough connection to be something but still had this room to actually be something, albeit their arc is pretty much finished now, given that Matt is back and I do think Pidge would not need to rely emotionally on Shiro as she had when she was still in search of her brother and fretting over his life. I don’t particularly go out of my way for shidge anymore but it’s a ship with lots of room for angst and improvement, whether romantic or platonic, and it has a special place in my heart.
and what fandom is it from?
Oh boy. I should’ve read all questions my bad. If it meant first ship ever, I guess it’s gotta be SasuSaku. Do I even have to say which fandom is it from?
But yep. SasuSaku was my first ever ship before I even knew what shipping was. When I was in 5th grade, I had the SasuSaku scene in Episode 109 where Sasuke left Konoha and Sakura tried and failed to stop him memorized. Also, I cried every time I rewatched that episode. In my defense, I was like 9.
is there a ship that you used to ship, but don’t anymore?
I guess, K/ance/Sha//ura? Self-explanatory but I’ll still expound. I do know the fandom isn’t all made up of antis but I guess I’ve seen enough to not dwell in those ships and/or tone it down a notch. Like, I used to be so into K/ance, at some point I got into the “blog recs” for K/ance when the fandom was relatively small and less toxic because I reblogged so much of them. It just really broke my heart when the blogs I followed suddenly started posting hate on other ships that I, myself being a multishipper, enjoyed and it came to a point where it just became to tiring to find out who’s cool and who’s hateful. I guess, as for Sha//ura, I liked the ship. It’s nice and I love both Shiro and Allura as individual characters so them together was okay and the whole Space Parents was cute and funny until it became discourse and Allura and Shiro, both amazing characters with so much depth and potential, get pigeonholed and flattened with Space Mom and Space Dad, respectively. But it’s not like I don’t see quality Sha//ura content that really tackle them as characters. I’ve seen good art and amazing metas that get me crying from Sha//ura shippers. (Also, I might be bitter because I tried to make this really good angsty sha//ura au, sadness and bad endings, just your typical drama and I woke up the next morning some dude was like uummm a better ending would be *insert happy ending* and being a bitter morning person I just said dude that’s not a better ending just a happy one, then I decided not to try and get into the side of the fandom anymore)
what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion?
Allurance, definitely. I see good Allurance content but I do believe as a ship it is underestimated and a lot of people who say they dislike and/or even hate the ship just puts focus on the first season. Allurance’s charm (aside from Allura and Lance because you gotta admit they are both hella charming if you say know you lie), at least for me, is how they are both growing characters. Allura learns to be a better leader to the coalition and find ground in her position as a Paladin, whereas Lance learns humility and being sensitive to his teammates, rather than his usual self-absorbed “I’m the best” fiasco. And they are doing that together. Lance supporting and encouraging Allura gives Allura the strength and confidence to be great and to further her talents and skills, not to mention, it allows Lance to grow as a person. And just character growth meshed together. That’s my kind of shit.
(I know Hallura, Shunk, Zellura and Allurivunk are more underrated as ships but I wanna talk Allurance lol)
what is the most overrated ship, in your opinion?
Lancelot, I guess? I love the ship. Lotor’s a manipulative bastard and I just know he knows how to pull Lance’s string and use it against Voltron. How did I know that? Because a good portion of Lancelot thinks so too even though they never really talked or knew each other. I think that explains why it’s overrated. I mean, I also do like the idea of Lance changing Lotor for the good but hey angst.
