Not having a job is really kicking your ass. All you do is stay at home and flip through magazines and shows you’ve already watched. Since your parents died, your aunt has taken you under her wing. The housing and renting market is a joke right now, so you’re living with her until you can go to school. You want to go into her field since you look up to her so much, but the school year doesn’t start for another three months.
So, you’re just trying to pass the time by reading magazines and watching shit reality shows.
Aunt Alex walks downstairs after getting ready for work, and she goes to the kitchen where the full pot of coffee you brewed is waiting for her.
“So, what do you have planned for today?” she asks.
“Well, at ten, I want to cure diseases, and at two, I plan on writing a thesis on String Theory. Why? Do you have something planned? I can see if I can fit you in,” you say sarcastically.
“You’re so funny,” she rolls her eyes playfully. “There’s actually something I want you to do for me.”
“What’s up?”
“I signed you up for shooting lessons. One of my coworkers is teaching the class, and he knows you’re coming. Your appointment is at two.”
You resist the urge to roll your eyes. She’s been nagging you to take shooting lessons ever since you moved in with her.
“Aunt Alex…”
“Y/N, listen, your mother wasn’t prepared and look where it got her. I’m not letting the same thing happen to you.”
She’s right. Your father died shortly after you were born so your mom was the protector. There was an invasion one night and she wasn’t able to protect herself against the intruder. She died fighting to save you. Alex sees evil every single day, and it would break her heart if you weren't prepared for the worst.
“Fine, I’ll go,” you sigh.
“Good. It’s at two. Don’t be late.”
“I won’t.”
The morning is filled with reality TV, and the early afternoon is when you prepare to go to this lesson. What should you wear? A dress might be too much so you pick out a nice pair of jeans and a loose shirt. Once ready, you leave the house and head over to the shooting range. You’re not sure who from her team is going to be teaching you. You’ve never met them but you do know them by name. David Rossi, Derek Morgan, Aaron Hotchner, and Spencer Reid. You don’t think Rossi or Hotch will teach you so it has to be either Derek or Spencer.
The shooting range is empty, probably due to Alex’s influence. She wanted whoever is teaching it to focus on you the whole time.
“Hello? Anyone here?”
“In the back!”
You walk to the back and see a tall and slender man putting away supplies. From Penelope’s use of the phrase “Chocolate Thunder” (thanks to Aunt Alex repeating it several times), you know this is Spencer Reid. Spencer turns and you’re immediately floored by how attractive he is. You’ve met your fair share of men and have hooked up with more than one of them, but Spencer is on a whole other level.
This is a man right here. You’re into older men, too. You’re not sure how old he is but he can’t be more than thirty-five.
He walks over to you with a smile. “Hi, I’m Spencer Reid. Alex said you were coming over.” No words are coming out so you just nod instead. “Have you ever shot a gun before?” Again, you can only shake your head. “Don’t worry, I’ll teach you.”
He takes you over to the area where you shoot and shows an array of guns on the table next to it. He picks up the smaller one and hands it over to you.
“Wow, this is heavier than I thought it was going to be,” you chuckle when you grab it.
“Yeah, don’t let that scare you. This is a very easy gun to use. First, safety.”
Spencer takes the gun from you and puts it on the table before grabbing a pair of earmuffs and safety glasses. You look up at him as he slides the earmuffs over your ears, and he looks into your eyes. He briefly looks down at your lips but it was so quick that you could have been imagining it.
“Does that fit well?”
Even through the earmuffs, his voice is like honey. You nod and he moves onto the glasses. He slides them on despite you having full capabilities of doing this yourself. You look down and the glasses slide off your face entirely, and you chuckle shyly. Both you and Spencer lean down to pick it up, and your hand bumps against his.
It was just a bump but that sends shockwaves through your body. Based on how Spencer is looking at you, you know he felt the same. This is different than any fling you had. You’ve never felt this type of attraction toward another man.
“Sorry,” you whisper.
“It’s okay.” He grabs the glasses. “Let me get another pair.” Spencer leaves and returns with a smaller pair. “Are those okay?”
“Better,” you smile.
“Okay, take the gun and turn the safety off.” You pick up the gun and flip the little switch. Spencer steps closer to you, so close that you can feel his body heat behind you. Butterflies flutter in your stomach but you try to ignore them. “Here, hold it like this.”
He reaches around you and fixes the way you hold the gun. He has to press himself closer to your back, and you silently thank Aunt Alex for setting this up for you.
“Am I holding it right?” you ask.
“Yes.”
His breath is hot against your neck, and you swear you can feel your panties dampening a little bit.
“Now what?”
“Shoot.” You aim at the target in front of you and shoot three times, all of the bullets not hitting the target but on the paper outside of it. “Okay, next time, don’t close one eye. That actually doesn’t help.”
“Okay,” you chuckle. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay. Try again. This time, try to aim for the heart.”
You aim at the target but freeze when you feel Spencer’s hand sliding up your arms and down to your waist. How can you think about this when all you can think about is his hands on your body? You shoot the target twice, both of the bullets hitting the target. However, one hit his leg and the other hit his hand.
“Better?”
“Yeah, a bit. Are you sure you’ve never shot a gun before?”
“Never.”
“For a first-timer, you’re doing a lot better than other newbies.”
“Thanks,” you smile. “I just have a really great teacher.”
Spencer spends the next thirty minutes teaching you how to shoot multiple different guns. By the time you’re done, the sexual tension is high. Spencer steps back from you and you regret not failing more just so you can feel his body against yours.
“Okay, I think that’s enough for today. I do think you might benefit from one more lesson. Are you free next week?”
“Yes,” you say too quickly. “I mean, I can make that work. Just let me know.”
“Great.”
Spencer removes your glasses and then your earmuffs while staring into your eyes the whole time. The tension between you two is like a boiling pot of water. It’s going to overflow any second now, and you can’t wait to see what will happen when he snaps. He looks down at your lips and you lick them slowly, and that seems to be the tipping point.
He grabs your waist and pulls you into him before slamming his lips on yours. You immediately wrap your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. He hooks his hands under your thighs and lifts you up with ease, setting you on the small table so you’re up to his height. Spencer slides his tongue along your bottom lip, but he kisses his way down your jaw to your neck instead of licking inside your mouth.
“Alex is going to kill me,” he mutters between kisses.
“What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her,” you moan.
Spencer pulls back and kisses you once again. If you knew this was waiting for you, you would have taken lessons a lot sooner.

My Masterlist🌱
Silco x transmasc!reader
y’all i’m sorry i need this man SO badly. i only recently watched Arcane for the first time and him and Viktor have been going through my head nonstop🙏
Tumblr media
Imagine being Silco’s pretty boy assistant he snagged from topside, wanting a trophy to keep at his side. Offering you a job you can’t refuse- amazing pay and promises of the chance to explore a whole new world (aka the Undercity)
Wearing your nice topsider outfits like you would any other day in Piltover, not noticing the odd looks others gave you down there. Silco loving how you’re like his own exotic pet to regular citizens- the topsider he had stolen away and kept on a leash.
Being surprisingly good at your job, fully prepared to actually try your best (something he often couldn’t find in others.) Color coding, organizing, making lists- even writing out a daily schedule for him, much to his amazement.
Not thinking much of it when Silco calls you a good boy- maybe that’s just usual talk for down here, right? Silco trying to ignore the way his cock chubs up every time you smile sweetly after being praised.
Not realizing how your smile is a rarity for Silco to see since he lives in the Undercity. Your kindness isn’t something he’s used to, making him more attached to you than he should be. He’s already taken care of a few stragglers that called you names or whistled at you.
Finding him needing help with his eye injections but no one else is around. You offer to help with a sweet concerned look on your face, walking over and trying to find a good angle. Struggling to get a comfortable position so you gently rest your knee in between his legs on his desk chair, your leg brushing against his clothed cock which was already hardening. Him letting out a small moan when you inject his eye, which you assumed was from the pain, but really your knee brushed against his cock again.
Him taking you out to dinner as a ‘present’ for doing so well recently, but in reality he just wants to see you more. If he’s lucky enough maybe one of these nights he’ll convince you to come home with him- since it’s ’far too long a walk at this time of night’ for you to get back to your apartment all the way in Piltover.
Silco finding your little day journal that you use to take notes and keep track of what you need to do. Flipping through it out of curiosity, finding the page where you jot down what he likes so you know what to get him for the holidays. His chest feeling warmer than it has in years.
Bringing him trinkets from Piltover as if he couldn’t just get them himself if he wanted to. An entire drawer of his desk is dedicated to just the things you bring him. Little do you know how his heart speeds up a little when you leave a new present on his desk. Can’t help but imagine you wearing a neatly tied ribbon and sitting on his desk, waiting for him as his next gift.
I will 100% be writing more for this don’t yall worry

Paul McCartney at Wings' Christmas photo shoot, 1979(?)
PaulMcCartney.com Q&A (19 December 2022):
Q: When you first released ‘Wonderful Christmastime’, did you think it was going to be a Christmas hit that would come back every year? Or does it surprise you that it’s still so popular now? Paul: I like the idea of Christmas songs purely because they only come around at Christmas! They remind us of the fun atmosphere of the whole season, and when I was writing ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ I was trying to capture that party aspect. I did hope it would keep coming back – which it has. Sometimes people will go into a shop and hear it a little too much, but I don’t care! I’m happy!
Q: We really wanted to ask you about this ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ fan theory that has gone viral on social media. The theory suggests the song is about people practising witchcraft, chanting ‘the moon is right, the spirit’s up’, and when someone walks in, they must play it cool and pretend they are ‘simply having a wonderful Christmastime!’. Is this theory true? Paul: Oh yeah. Well, thank goodness they found me out. This is completely true and in actual fact I am the head wizard of a Liverpool coven. (Paul laughs) Either that… or it’s complete nonsense. And you know it’s the latter! Q: This theory may have come from people mishearing the lyrics. Could you confirm if the lyric is ‘the moon is right’ or ‘the mood is right’? Paul: It’s ‘the mood’! This is the mood; I’ve gathered together the witches and wizards… I’ve got ‘the mood’, which is what we in wizardry call it (laughs). The thing is about this stuff, it’s so easy to convince half the people in the world. You do have to be a little bit careful! No, it’s ‘the mood’. And you know what, I’m thinking about Liverpool Christmas parties, that’s really all I’m doing with that song. “The mood is right, let’s raise a glass, the spirit’s up” – you know, all the stuff you do at Christmas. Particularly with my old Liverpool family parties. Q: You’ve spoken before about singing around the piano at parties in Liverpool, and in ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ the choir ‘sing their song’ - but do you have any memories of going carolling at Christmas? Paul: I can’t remember ever having done it, so I probably didn’t. The fun thing about Christmas carolling, that probably would have influenced my decision NOT to do it, was that my dad always used to make fun of them. He'd say, ‘Here’s a shilling to go sing in the next street’. He was not a big fan of Christmas carols. I quite like them! Q: Are there any Christmas traditions from your childhood which you have continued into adulthood, and shared with your own children and grandchildren? Paul: I have actually started some new traditions. When the kids were little, I suddenly thought there wasn’t the ideal Christmas record, in my opinion. There’s some great Christmas records like the Phil Spector one, and Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby on the old standards, but I just wanted an instrumental of all the tunes. So, I ended up recording one for the family in my studio. And Eddie Klein, my engineer at the time, helped me. I now have this album I pull out every year, and it’s a bit of fun for the kids when we’re carving the veggie roast. I’ll stick it on and it means Christmas is here. It’s quite a cute little record actually! But it’s just for the family. Q: Some fans already know this exists, it’s part of the Paul McCartney folklore! I think they’re hoping to hear it one day. Paul: I’ve often thought it’s good enough if people would like it released, and I’ve thought I could do it for charity or something, but never really felt strongly enough to make a decision. It’s just a family record, and I’ll pull it out again this Christmas. My main job is to carve the roast. That was one of the things I liked when we became veggie years ago. I said it would be nice for me to able to do what I thought of as the traditional ‘dad’ job, so that’s the carving of the turkey in the old days, and now it’s the carving of the veggie roast. I normally do that – unless someone gets in there first, and I get miffed! Steady on! So yeah, I put on the Christmas record, carve the roast, and then we do all the normal Christmas things. Christmas crackers and reading out all the terrible jokes and trying to really be happy with the little gift that comes inside, which is something you’re never going to use or keep. This is the spirit of Christmas! We mainly do all the stuff that everyone else does at Christmas time.

. . . You sat in the passenger seat of Marc’s car, trying your hardest not to burst out laughing. You already knew what was about to happen, and honestly, you couldn’t wait to see how his mom would react.
Marc had been planning this prank for days, and you were more than happy to play along.
Marc dialed his mom’s number, his fingers trembling slightly with excitement. You could feel the tension in the car as you both waited for her to pick up. As the phone rang, Marc shot you a look, grinning like a maniac.
You bit your lip to keep yourself from giggling, knowing this was going to be gold.
The phone clicked, and his mom’s voice filled the car. "Marc, ¿qué pasó?" (What’s going on?)
Marc leaned back in his seat, all cool and collected. He knew exactly what he was doing. "Hey, Mamá. Just wanted to let you know I’m bringing another girl home today. She’s not my girlfriend, but you’ll like her."
You muffled a laugh behind your hand, but Marc shot you a look, signaling you to stay quiet. He was doing an amazing job of keeping a straight face.
His mom was quiet for a second, clearly processing what he’d just said. "¿Otra chica?" she said, her voice sharp and confused. "Marc, ¿estás bien?" (Another girl?) // (Are you okay?)
You couldn’t hold it in anymore. You stifled a giggle with your hand, but you saw Marc’s eyes sparkle with barely contained laughter. His mom was already freaking out.
"Mamá, relax," Marc said, his tone nonchalant but his eyes betraying the excitement bubbling inside him. "It’s not what you think. She’s not my girlfriend, I swear. But, uh… she’s cool. You’ll like her."
You glanced at Marc, still fighting to keep it together. His face was red now, his effort to stay serious becoming harder by the second.
His mom wasn’t buying it. "¿Qué estás diciendo?"she asked, now clearly concerned. "Are you out of your mind? What does your girlfriend think about this?" (What are you saying?)
You couldn’t keep it in anymore. You had to bite your lip hard to keep from laughing out loud. You sat back in your seat, trying to keep as still as possible, but your shoulders were shaking with the effort.
Marc glanced over at you, and you could see the corner of his mouth twitch. He held up a finger, silently telling you to stay quiet, then turned his attention back to the phone. "I… I haven’t told her yet, Mamá," he said, his voice betraying his amusement. "I’m just letting you know. I didn’t want you to be surprised, you know?"
His mom was getting worked up. "¡Marc, estás jugando con fuego!" she shouted. "You don’t think your girlfriend’s going to find out? What do you think she’s going to say when she sees you bringing another girl home?" (Marc, you’re playing with fire!)
You had to turn your head to the window, trying to hold back your laughter. Marc couldn’t stop himself either, he was shaking with silent laughter now, his hands gripping the steering wheel as he tried to act serious. His mom was in full on panic mode, but he was loving every second of it.
"She’s-she’s not here, Mamá," Marc said, voice faltering a little as he tried to explain. "I’m by myself. Really. I swear. It’s just a joke."
His mom didn’t sound convinced. "¿¡No está ahí!?" she asked, clearly confused. "Wait, she’s not there with you? You’re alone?" (She’s not there!?)
You looked over at Marc, who was practically shaking with laughter now. He was trying so hard not to crack. You could barely hold back anymore, your body trembling with barely contained laughs.
Marc cleared his throat, holding back his own laughter just long enough to answer. "No, Mamá, I’m alone," he said, voice a little strained. "It’s just-"
"Marc!" His mom’s voice was almost shrill now. "You’re playing with fire! You can’t just bring another girl over like that. What do you think your girlfriend’s going to say? Are you out of your mind?"
Marc finally lost it, and a burst of laughter escaped his lips. "I swear, Mamá, I’m not cheating on anyone," he said between fits of laughter. "It’s a prank! We’ve been planning this for days. I’m really sorry!"
You looked at Marc, laughing along with him now. His mom was still yelling on the phone, but you both knew it was over. She wasn’t going to let him live this one down for a while.
Marc laughed, rubbing his eyes as he finally managed to speak. "Mamá, seriously. It’s just a joke. No other girl, I swear."
There was a long pause on the other end of the line, and you could almost hear his mom trying to process what just happened. "Marc," she said slowly, "you are unbelievable. I can’t believe you just did that to me."
You were full on laughing now, clutching your stomach as you wiped away tears from your eyes. Marc had gone too far with this prank, but it was totally worth it.
He sighed, trying to get himself together. "I know, I know. I’m sorry. I’ll fix this. No more pranks, I promise."
His mom didn’t seem fully convinced but finally let out an exasperated sigh. “"ou better hope she believes that. Don’t make me come over there, Marc."
You couldn’t take it anymore and let out one final laugh as Marc hung up. He turned to you, finally catching his breath, and both of you were in hysterics. He wiped his eyes and grinned at you. "I don’t think she’s ever going to let me live that down."
You grinned back, your laughter finally dying down. "No, not a chance. You’re going to hear about this forever."
Marc shook his head, chuckling. "Yeah, I deserve that. But hey, it was worth it for the look I imagined on her face."
You just smiled at him, giving him a playful nudge. "I think you might’ve broken her heart a little, though. You really went all in on this one."
He shrugged, still smiling like a kid who got away with something. "Totally worth it."

Ellie x Vi x Female Reader
Summary: Bringing your girlfriends, Ellie and Vi, home for the holidays was already nerve-wracking. But with your conservative parents and the pressure of keeping your relationship a secret, things get complicated. Between sneaky kisses, whispered confessions, and a family confrontation, this Christmas will test your love like never before.
---
“I don’t think this is a good idea,” Ellie grumbled, leaning against the kitchen counter, her tattooed arm flexing as she crossed her arms. Her knife spun lazily in her hand, a nervous habit.
You looked up from where you were attempting to fold laundry, already flustered. “Ellie, we’ve talked about this. It’s just a few days, and then we’re back home. My parents have been asking me to visit forever.”
Vi smirked from the couch, her feet up on the coffee table. “Sounds like someone’s scared of a little holiday cheer.”
Ellie glared at her. “I’m not scared. I just don’t like the idea of sneaking around. It’s weird.”
“It’s not sneaking,” you said, sitting down beside Vi and tugging on her hoodie. “It’s… being strategic.”
“Strategic,” Ellie repeated, unimpressed. “So, your parents don’t know about us at all?”
“They know I’m bringing two ‘close friends,’” you said, making air quotes. “I just haven’t told them we’re, you know…”
“Sleeping together?” Vi supplied, raising an eyebrow.
You sighed. “Dating. Together. In love.”
Ellie snorted. “Yeah, this is gonna go great.”
Vi reached over to take your hand, her thumb brushing your knuckles. “Relax, babe. We’ll get through it. Worst case, Ellie makes some smartass remark, and we get kicked out before dessert.”
Ellie grinned. “That’s best-case scenario.”
You groaned, burying your face in your hands. “This is my family we’re talking about. Can you at least try to behave?”
Vi leaned in, her voice dropping into a low, teasing tone. “I’ll behave if you promise to make it up to us later.”
Her breath was warm against your ear, sending a shiver down your spine. Ellie, noticing your reaction, smirked and joined Vi, standing behind you to press a gentle kiss to your neck.
“You owe us big time,” Ellie murmured, her lips grazing your skin.
“I promise,” you whispered, your heart racing as Vi pulled you closer, her hand sliding up your thigh.
---
The drive to your parents’ house was uneventful, aside from Ellie’s relentless teasing about the amount of luggage Vi brought.
“Do you really need three bags for four days?” Ellie asked, twisting in her seat to poke at Vi’s duffel.
“It’s called being prepared,” Vi shot back, her voice laced with mock superiority. “Not all of us can live out of a backpack, Ellie.”
You rolled your eyes. “Can you two try not to kill each other before we get there?”
When you finally arrived, your mom was waiting at the door, a bright smile on her face. “Y/N! You’re here!”
She enveloped you in a tight hug before turning to Ellie and Vi. “And these must be your friends!”
Vi offered her most charming smile and a handshake. “It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Y/L/N.”
Ellie, less polished but equally endearing, gave a small wave. “Hi. Thanks for having us.”
Your dad appeared in the doorway, eyeing Ellie’s tattoos and Vi’s undercut with thinly veiled suspicion. “Welcome. Hope you’re ready for some holiday fun.”
You exchanged a nervous glance with your girlfriends before stepping inside, bracing yourself for what was to come.
---
The first night was awkward. Your mom asked endless questions about Ellie and Vi’s “friendship,” while your dad seemed more interested in grilling them about their jobs.
“So, Ellie,” your dad began, his tone overly casual. “What do you do?”
Ellie shifted uncomfortably. “Uh, I’m a musician. I write songs and play guitar.”
Your mom’s smile faltered. “Oh, how… creative.”
“And what about you, Vi?” your dad asked, turning his attention to her.
“I work security,” Vi replied easily. “Helps pay the bills.”
Your dad nodded approvingly. “Good, honest work.”
Ellie rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath, “And music isn’t?”
Later, as you, Ellie, and Vi settled into the basement where you’d been assigned to sleep, the tension finally broke.
“Your dad hates me,” Ellie said, flopping onto the pull-out couch.
“He doesn’t hate you,” you said, sitting beside her.
“He definitely doesn’t love her,” Vi quipped, earning a glare from Ellie.
You sighed, pulling them both close. “Can we just get through this without fighting? Please?”
Ellie’s hand found your waist, her fingers tracing lazy circles. “Fine. But only because you asked so nicely.”
Vi leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “We’ll behave. Promise.”
---
By the third day, the strain of keeping your relationship a secret was starting to show. Ellie was snappier than usual, Vi was restless, and you were constantly on edge.
The breaking point came during a family trivia game on Christmas Eve. Abby, your younger sister and the only one who knew the truth, decided to stir the pot.
“So, Ellie,” she said with a mischievous grin. “How long have you and Vi been dating Y/N?”
Your mom froze mid-sip of her cocoa. Your dad’s eyes narrowed. “What?”
Ellie shot you a panicked look, and Vi sighed, clearly over the charade. “Six months. Give or take.”
“Excuse me?” your mom said, her voice rising an octave.
You stood quickly, holding up your hands. “Okay, yes. I’m dating Ellie and Vi. Both of them. At the same time.”
The silence was deafening. Finally, Abby smirked and said, “Well, this just got interesting.”
---
The fallout wasn’t as bad as you’d feared. After some initial shock and a few tense conversations, your parents began to accept the situation.
“how is that- you know what, I just want you to be happy,” your mom said tearfully, hugging you on Christmas morning.
Ellie and Vi, who’d been lurking in the background, joined you on the couch.
“Next year,” Vi said with a smirk, “we’re spending the holidays at our place.”
Ellie nodded. “With no secrets.”
You smiled, leaning into them both. “Deal.”
As the snow fell softly outside, you knew this would be a Christmas you’d never forget.

Since late August of 2022, Barry Topping and I have been working on a shoot ‘em up game called BIRDCAGE.
Now 2024 is wrapping up and – surprisingly – so is the production phase of BIRDCAGE. There’s still plenty of work to be done, but the game itself is all there, playable and asset complete.
Now we’re left with an ever-growing lernaean hydra list of other tasks to handle – emails, wider testing, stability, updating store presences, promotional stuff and in general, just trying to maximize the reach and polish of what we’ve made.
Tumblr media
The final stretch of production (roughly the last 5 months?) was really fun. The game had matured enough that we just instinctively knew what would work and what wouldn’t.
We’d become comfortable enough with the tools we built and our process where we’d just be constantly in hyper mode. The game really came together in this final leg of development.
Tumblr media
POLYGON BIRD, our studio name, and EXCEL Framework, the name given to the "shmup tools" we made for the game.
I was expecting ending full-on production on BC to be frustrating and depressing, but some switch flipped in my head and now all I want to do is email people about the game, optimize our Steam tags and figure out how to get this in people’s hands – and I’m finding that fun, at least for now. The game isn’t this ideal brainchild piece of art to me, suddenly. We did the work to make the thing, now it’s time the thing worked for us.
It surprises me how often I find myself thinking ridiculous things like “we need to activate our discord members” – but I’ll take this over the usual pit of despair I fall into after finishing a big project.
Tumblr media
I guess this is what motivated me to write down these thoughts in the first place – I was bracing to be fully depressed and lost right about now, resenting the game and the time we spent on it. Maybe this will serve as a reminder that finishing a thing doesn’t have to feel so bad?
Tumblr media
So now we’re kind of going back into uncharted waters – promoting, releasing, dealing with feedback, hotfixes and support. There’s going to be a lot of “learning on the job”, I guess, but I’m excited to see that aspect of game dev.
I’m really glad we were able to hit our goal of wrapping up this phase of BIRDCAGE as the year comes to a close – it makes it easy to look back on the past 2 years as a whole and see how much we’ve learned. I can’t wait for us to make another game, knowing what we know now.
There is still nothing to announce regarding the release of the game, but it still felt important to make note of this milestone.
For now, just know we’ve made a game and are working on getting it out there! We should have a lot more to say soon.
In the meantime, you can help us out by adding BIRDCAGE to your Steam wishlist.
Thanks for sticking around all these years.
Happy holidays!

Read the entire fic on Ao3
“He shoots! And he…” Steve mutters, willing the Swedish Fish he just threw to land in Robin’s mouth. It’s almost there…
Then Robin moves two inches to the left and the candy hits her on the cheek.
“Robs. It was right there! Why?”
“You try holding still when there’s something flying at your face!”
“How am I supposed to get this in your mouth without making it fly in your face first?”
“Like you’re any better at getting it in your mouth,” Robin mutters, gesturing to the pile of sweets strewn about the floor.
It’s a slow day at Family Video. Slow enough that they’re trying to figure out some party tricks to impress Vickie. It’s not going great. Steve sighs and crosses ‘food catching’ off the list.
“Ok. The list is getting kind of short. You sure you don’t want to try keg stands?”
“Yeah right, Vickie’s going to be so impressed when I fall and break my neck.”
“It could be a good bonding experience you know? Let her take care of you and everything.”
“Nuh uh, you’re going to be switching out my bed pans.”
The bell rings before Steve can think of a retort. Vickie walks in with her usual bright smile. The patch Robin gave her sits prominently on her right shoulder. Robin erps. Steve tickles her to give her some cover for the deep blush on her face.
“Hey,” Vickie says shyly.
“Hi,” Robin stammers. Steve backs up a little when Vickie comes up to the counter. He and Robin practiced for this. She even made him put on a little red wig so she can really immerse herself. And yet.
Steve watches the two of them awkwardly stammer out a few stilted lines about band, frustrated beyond belief. He knows Robin can talk to Vickie. He’s seen her talk to Vickie. Besides, Steve knows Vickie also likes Robin. Why else would she be renting a movie a day ? Who watches that many movies? Weirdos, or someone trying to get into the movie shop employee’s over-sized pants.
“So Vickie, what ‘cha doing this weekend?” Steve says, unable to stand it anymore.
“I…” Vickie takes a beat, like she’s searching for a cool answer. “I’m going diving,” she says.
“What a coincidence,” Steve says with a smile, “so were we.”
“We are?” Robin asks. “I mean, we are,” she corrects herself.
“That’s… that’s great. So we can… if you don’t mind me butting in that is,” Vicky mutters out with a bright smile.
“Oh please, we’d be honored to have your butt—ing in,” Robin says. Vickie laughs, somehow charmed. Steve smiles and backs off to go pretend to organize the sci-fi section now that the two are talking about diving and weekends. A shameful part of him chafes at the thought of Robin actually getting together with Vickie. There’s going to be a lot less sleepovers, movie nights, and going up to the city. Or maybe Robin will let him tag along as a forever third wheel. Whatever it is, as long as Robin’s happy…
Steve’s wallowing so deep in self-pity that he misses Robin coming up to stand behind him. He shrieks at the sudden sharp finger on his pits.
“Ouch, my ears,” Robin complains as if it wasn’t all her fault.
“Jesus, warn a guy next time,” Steve gasps. Robin doesn’t give him a second to catch his breath. She pulls him into a tight hug instead, squealing loud enough to make his ears ring. “I’ll take it that you have plans?” Steve asks, laughing.
“Yeah dingus,” Robin says, letting him go so she can punch him in the arm, “thanks, I guess.”
“Yep, so I should have a horrible stomach flu the day before and not show up right? Let you get some quality time?”
“Yes, yes, but actually…” Robin says hesitantly.
“Actually what? Robs, you’re not asking me to come to your first date are you?”
“Well the thing is…” Robin draws a circle with her toes, face flushed, “i’mafraidoffish,” she finishes.
“What was that?”
“I’m…” Robin takes a deep gulping breath. “I’m afraid of fish.”
“You had fish with me? Last night?” Steve asks, flabbergasted. How did he not know this before now?
“Right but it was dead… It’s the live ones. Can’t stand the thought of them staring at me,” Robin says with a shudder.
“Robs, but you’ve… dived before,” Steve says, “when my leg cramped up?”
“That wasn’t a dive,” Robin retorts, “that was just me jumping into lake water. Besides, I was too focused on, you know, thinking you might die?”
A wave of intolerably strong fondness washes over Steve. Sure, he was touched back then when Robin threw herself into the cold lake water with zero hesitation. But he didn’t know that she apparently had a phobia of fish in waters, and that lake was full of them. “Robs…”
“Nope, nope, zip it. You sap.” Robin says, pinching his mouth shut with two fingers. “That’s not important. What’s important is, you need to figure out how to make me comfortable with diving.”
“I don’t know… close your eyes or something?”
“But Vicky’s going to point out cool fish and stuff to me and I need to enjoy it! Not freak out about the thing looking at me!”
“I don’t…” Steve looks around the shelves as if it might give him an answer. “What if… what if we practice?” He finally asks.
“Practice?”
“Yeah. Let’s… we’ve got six days right? We’ll go diving every day. Get you used to it. Then by the time you’re going on a date with Vicky you’ll be a pro,” Steve says, getting more confident with every word.
“You think a week is enough?” Robin asks quietly.
“Yeah! You’ve never actually had fish staring at you right?”
“No, they’re usually dead by the time they get to me.”
“Yeah! So you just need to try it out first,” Steve takes her hand and presses it to his heart, amplifies his scent so it can waft over her. “Look, you already said we’re the same person. I’m not scared. You won’t be scared. You get it right?”
“Dingus,” Robin says, lightly slapping his chest and squirming her hand away. “Alright. Operation sleeping with the fishes is a go.”
********* The dive shop is tiny and efficient. Every available inch is stuffed with various… stuff that Steve figures must be important. The guy at the counter is strumming something nice on a guitar. He smells like campfire and something Steve can’t quite name. Whatever it is, it’s loosening up the anxious knot in Steve’s chest.
He put on a brave face, but honestly, he’s as nervous as Robin. Sure, he was on the swim team, but that was in a pool. The last time he tried swimming in the open waters, he got a leg cramp and Robin had to pull him out. He hadn’t gone into a natural body of water since. That’s why he got here first, to scope things out and figure out how everything’s going to go. Otherwise, she’ll smell his nerves, then he’ll smell her nerves and it’s going to make him more nervous then her more nervous and so on and on, creating a flywheel of shit until they’re both a puddle on the floor. But he’s going to be ready. He’ll talk to that dude and he’ll make a plan. Steve takes the time to look around the cramped shop before clearing his throat.
The guy starts. “Hey! Welcome to Lover’s Dive,” he says, spinning a little too hard on his chair. He ends up turning himself a full 360 degrees and has to adjust, cussing under his breath. Steve stifles a giggle. “Sorry, let’s try that again,” he mutters, facing Steve. “Welcome to Lover’s dive!… Harrington?”
“Eddie?” Steve gasps. “Mrs. Click’s class right?”
“Aww you remembered little ol’ me?” Eddie says, batting his lashes and flashing his alpha canines. “Funny. I don’t remember us exchanging a single word.”
“And yet, you remembered me,” Steve mutters, pleased but flustered. Of course he remembers Eddie. Loud. Bright. Sauntering on lunch tables and daring his basketball team to come and bite him. Tommy hated him. Steve couldn’t look away.
“I thought you moved?” Steve asks.
“I did,” Eddie says with a shrug, “but…” he clears his throat. “Anyway, I’m back. Wayne’s friend wanted someone to man the shop while he dives in the Carribeans.”
“That’s nice of you,” Steve says. Eddie responds to that with a big, dimpled grin.
“So how can I help?” he asks, “you just here for equipment? Or you want the guided tour?”
“Guided tour please,” Steve asks. “I’m going to be coming around quite a bit actually. Robin and I were hoping to get better at diving.”
“Robin? Robin Buckley from band?”
“Yep. You knew her?”
“Yeah, great musician. Gotta say Harrington, your tastes have changed since we last passed each other in those halls,” Eddie says, leaning forward. “You be good to her. You hear?” He pantomimes cocking a rifle.
“We’re not dating,” Steve says laughing.
“Is that a yet?” Eddie asks with a gleam in his eyes. “This the old Harrington special?”
Steve groans. “Dude, we’re not in high school anymore. You really want to harp about the old ‘King Steve’?” he says, making air quotes, “very conformist of you, just saying.”
Eddie makes a strangled noise and clutches at his chest. Steve leans forward, alarmed, as Eddie sinks to the floor.
"Eddie?" Steve whispers. Did he kill him?
Then Eddie shoots back up with a giant dimpled smile. "It's me! Back from the dead after killing the old Eddie, a judgmental conformist." He awkwardly climbs over the counter, so he can get right into Steve's space. There's only dimples and campfire. Steve stops himself from trilling just in time. "So, my friend, let's do that again. Welcome to Lover's Dive! What glorious times are you hoping to have with your friend in these exalted waters?"
Eddie’s eyes are wild. His hair is even wilder. He’s put on some muscles after high school. The veins on his forearms flex. But that lightness, the refusal to quiet himself down and fit in to a nice little mold… that’s all still there. Steve feels the blood rushing to his ears…
“Munson. He’s my best friend,” Robin snarls from the door, “don’t fuck with him.”
“Noted, Lady Buckley,” Eddie says, exaggeratedly backing away from Steve.
“We were fine,” Steve says hurriedly. Robin scared the shit out of Dustin that one time he got too snippy about Steve being slow to read. He knows Robin wouldn’t hesitate to drive an air tank into Eddie’s head and he does not need that right now.
“So, what can I get you? Friend birds?” Eddie asks.
“Your finest tour if you please,” Steve says, trying to remember all weird fantasy English stuff that Munson and the kids seemed to get such a kick out of.

The present wrapping for Woonhak please! Girl could you imagine that? Him getting frustrated from not getting it right AKSJKSAKJS
-🎬
day 10 ⋆。˚❆˚ 。⋆ gift wrapping!
kim woonhak x reader [fluff, fem!reader]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
14:22 - you gasped, “woonhak, what is this?!”
“what? you said we were doing wrapping today.”
you blinked at the the two cardboard boxes filled with presents, motioning to your one plastic bag. you took off your coat, starting to look through them.
“why are so many of them out the boxes?!”
“i had to test them,” he shrugged, “why?!”
“no, no, it’s fine,” you chuckled, unwrapping your first tube of wrapping paper that you planned to use for your mum. you looked at your boyfriend who was inspecting the other rolls, “you haven’t bought wrapping paper, have you?”
his lips fell into a pout, looking at you sheepishly as he laughed, “was i supposed to?”
you just shook your head, suppressing a smile and handing him your least favourite. “just do what you can, and then i’ll show you where you’re going wrong. although - you know unwrapping them made it harder for yourself, right?”
“good job i haven’t unwrapped yours then,” he smiled, kissing you on the cheek before laying his first present on the table: a bottle of cologne for jaehyun.
you scoffed, laying out your first present too, on some pulled out wrapping paper, “what? mine aren’t worth testing you?”
woonhak eyed your method curiously, subtly trying to change what he was doing to make it more like your process. “hmm? no! i just didn’t want to ruin anything. plus, i’m confident. i know what you like, baby girl.”
you scoffed at the nickname, folding over the paper tightly. you paused, resting your finger on the wrapping and staring at the sellotape.
“woonhak, my darling, could you rip me off a piece of tape?” you asked, batting your eyelashes and putting on your nicest voice.
“of course!” he grinned, a task he finally knew how to do! he ripped off a small piece of tape, sticking it on the fold.
“thank you, my love,” you hummed, finishing off your package (with tape lovingly handed from woonhak) before looking through your bag for your next gift to wrap.
your boyfriend was still stuck on his first. paper haphazardly pulled over the bottle, tape anywhere and everywhere, everything seemed to be seemingly too much and not enough. you looked over questioningly.
“ah, i can’t do it!” he yelled, wriggling in a tantrum, his flailing body falling onto the floor, “that’s it. everyone’s getting unwrapped presents this year.”
“woonhak,” you smiled, laughing at his predictable behaviour. your boyfriend didn’t respond, pouting on the floor as he continued to fake cry, “my baby. shall i wrap your presents?”
“no i don’t want to be a burden!” he whined, pulling his beanie over his eyes.
“you’re not!” you laughed, pulling his body up and his beanie back to reveal his eyes. they closed tightly shut as you did so. “seriously, woonie! you can help!”
“how?” he mumbled.
“with the tape!”
he sighed, looking at you finally, “i’m quite good at that, right?”
you grinned, “the best.”
he nodded, confidence back as he sat up properly again, giving you the cologne bottle, “okay. thank you, baby.”
you smiled, woonhak’s body falling into yours as he wrapped his arms around your waist, “that’s okay. ooh! you can write the tags too! write all of yours so we can keep track of them–”

Me and my one (1) friend who has also had their brain corrupted by the blight (dragon age) have been fighting about this for two days but I’m so sure I’m right, so I humbly present my thesis to you lovely people.
1. After the events of the Veilguard, if Rook and Neve ended up together, Neve tries to leave you.
LET ME EXPLAIN! (Spoilers for the Veilguard ending)
I love Neve. She’s my favorite romance from Veilguard, she’s an incredible character and she does not deserve all the hate she gets. Having said that, she does 1000% try and leave Rook.
The one thing we know about Neve, almost from the moment we meet her, is that she is not a believer. She doesn’t believe Solas is a god, at first, she doesn’t believe anyone will have her back, she doesn’t believe Minrathous will improve and she doesn’t believe she’s going to survive this job. But still she fights on, not out of a genuine belief that she can win, but because she has a soft spot for lost causes.
Neve has devoted her life to being the champion of lost causes. She tells Rook that, even if this job doesn’t get her, one of them will. She risks her life, day in and day out, in service of a city that has done nothing but hurt her. Neve believes she’s a dead woman walking, and all she wants to do is go down protecting the people of Dock Town because someone has to. Someone has to.
And then she meets Rook and Harding and now gods are real, and they’re destroying the world and oh well everything was always going to go down in flames, so why not help out? She’s always been a magnet for bad news, for bad luck, for the worst of humanity, so why not spend her last days fighting for what little good is left?
She tries to fight falling for Rook, but they’re everything she wishes the world could be. They’re the lifeline she’s been waiting for since before the world forced her to stop believing. They’re good and kind and full of life and how can she do anything but love them for that? But she’s already dead, they’re both already dead and she can’t survive another loss.
She throws herself into loving them only after she lost them to the Fade. Only after Harding/Davrin died. After her world already ended, because that’s when she really realizes how quickly it can all end and how much time she wasted pushing people away. The goddamn WORLD IS ENDING and the person you love is THERE and they’re REAL and they WANT YOU, so why not? What is there to lose? It’s easy to love someone when the world is ending. It’s easy to love someone when you’re both already doomed.
But then the world doesn’t end. The sun rises on a blighted Minrathous and they’re both still alive, and now she’s faced with rebuilding. There’s so much work to be done, she’s a bloody, scarred mess and the job she was brought in for is over, isn’t it? She’s not a cool noir detective who died saving the world anymore, she’s someone’s partner, someone’s friend and lover and those aren’t jobs she had ever prepared herself to take.
Suddenly, without the haze of panic and the urgency of stopping the gods, things look different. She needs a new apartment. Minrathous needs a detective. Life goes back to normal and Neve still isn’t a believer.
Of course, everyone says they’ll stay in touch. Bonds formed that can never be broken and all that, but Neve knows better. You don’t hang around once the party is over. You don’t give the world more ways to hurt you, more people to take. You don’t give people a chance to leave you.
So she leaves first.
She regrets it. She hates herself for it. She cries herself to sleep wondering how she could be such a coward, but she leaves. She packs a bag, writes a goodbye letter and leaves before morning.
Now, do I think her and Rook get back together? Absolutely I do. I just think that, with all the events of Veilguard happening in such a short time, there’s going to be some major questions for all the companions once the dust settles, and leaving before you can be left is Neve Gallus’ answer to those questions.

Hugs Molly. I totally get that stress you are feeling and it sucks. Rip off the bandaid and get it off your shoulders. You don't owe them ANYTHING.
Yeah, I mean I’ve filled out all of my paperwork including my bank details etc. I’m fairly sure I have the job I’m just waiting for something in writing that says “We’ve checked your references and the paperwork is moving forward” and then I’m out.
Here’s the thing; part of me wants nothing more than to drop this in an email 5 minutes before we close on Christmas Eve but that doesn’t sit right with me. I think one of my bosses is already going to take this quite personally and I don’t wanna provide them with any more ammunition. So I’m trying to do everything right during what I feel has the potential to be a really nasty period ✌🏻

GAHHHHH THE LAST REAPER ONE HAD MY EYES PISSING FOR SOME REASON!? Love the nsfw slowburn and angst from that one. Can I kindly request for more?c:
Also cuz I don’t think I have seen that before on your blog could we get maybe a Bw!Gabe version with miss sunshine assistant this time?c: If u dont do the older timelines i would be also happy with grumpy reaps<3 love ur writing style btw u write all of the man so well wtf I’m addicted 😭
(18+mdni) anon u cutie<3 im hungover and gave my hand a try at bw reyes for the 1st time so im so sorry if its bad!
Reyes figured you were a plant, at first.
A little spy sent from Jack to gather up parts of intel that the golden boy of Overwatch could stick his nose into, to publicise the parts Reyes would rather stay hidden. And it was just like Morrison to send him someone so sweet and unassuming under the pretence of 'extra help', someone who'd bring him coffee with no complaints and organise his files with a smile. Someone to take some of that weight from his shoulders. It took a long time for Gabriel to even look in your direction at first, and even longer for him to start giving you any tasks.
(Although, that was partly your own doing. You'd stormed into his office one day when you were assured that he had no more meetings, jabbing a finger into the solid wall that was chest as you heatedly told him off over his flippant treatment towards you. Where Gabe then realised you were in fact not a honeypot, and rather just a very passionate young woman who wants to do her job. He let you chastise him until you were panting softly, where he then calmly asked you to make him a coffee, which had you thanking him in a tone almost too aggressive to be anything other than exasperatedly pleased. It was a slow start, but a start nonetheless.)
As much as he hated it, Gabriel soon came to rely on you for things. You knew every aspect of his schedule, knew how dark he took his coffee and even knew how to handle Genji and Cassidy when they started another stupid bet that had the vein in his forehead ready to burst. Gabe had become sickeningly attached to your presence at his side, clipboard in hand and an excited lilt in your voice for the day ahead. So bright eyed and bushy tailed it made him run hot with want and sick with guilt because he feared that Blackwatch would ruin you, and yet, he didn't want you to go.
And the threat of Jack plucking you back up and off to Overwatch still looms over him thickly like a storm cloud, has him drawn tight and stiff with uncharacteristic stress because he knows its something Jack can hold over his head, something he'd beg for like a dog, too.
You're too good for him and Reyes knows it. Too soft, sweet and kind compared to someone like him who runs with fire in his blood and stress hard wired in, and yet you're always there to pick up the pieces in a way that's well past professional. Letting him fuck your throat and use your mouth in in one of the many storage closets littering the hallways, in a slow stretch that makes pretty tears glitter in your eyes and has him whispering through grit teeth about how much of a good girl you are for helping him melt away some of that stress. Has him holding your hair back in a firm and tender grasp, thumbing your forehead like you were lovers.
In which, a part of him would like to be. He'd like to bring you back to his bed and tell you between breathy whispers that he loves you. To promise a ring around your finger between each slow thrust that has you gasping into his tan skin, scratching at his weathered back and whimpering his name. You're his in every way but that and it eats him from the inside out, tears his heart out his chest and eats it right in front of him because Gabriel knows he can't tether you to a man like him.
A man that isn't quite so human, something's hollow and missing and he plugs it with anger so white-hot that it fries him up inside. Time is running out and you know you're in danger by his side but you do it anyway. Gabriel knows that losing you means the world will have to burn and it makes something dark and smoky billow in his chest.
And after the Venice incident, he starts to feel that heat creep up behind him.

Rescued from a Paper
Paring: TASM!Peter Parker x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: When you are frustrated and overwhelmed with your paper, your boyfriend comes over (almost as if his spidey senses were attuned to you). At first, jokingly, Peter offers to do it for you (he’s brilliant, and he’d actually do it for you). But all jokes aside, he rubs your head and gently coaxes you to take a break from your computer. Although you resist, he ultimately wins.
Word Count: Roughly 1.4k
Warnings: Fluff, mild language, talks of stress due to assignments, suggestive flirting, and awful but cute chemistry puns
Note: I had the worst time writing a 30-page paper for this semester. My brain is a bit fried at the moment and I tried to edit this as best as possible. So, to everyone finishing up projects, presentations, and papers before the holiday break, this is for you (everyone really) :)
Tumblr media
The blinking cursor on the screen taunts you, its rhythmic pulse mocking your every attempt to continue writing. You curse under your breath, your frustration at its peak. You’ve been sitting at your desk for hours now; the only time you left your room was for coffee. Your eyes are red from staring at research articles to support your hypothesis. Typing sentences of analysis for your cited evidence and deleting them just as quickly as they came.
But no matter what you do, the words don’t come.
Your deadline is a week away.
A week? Manageable.
But coupled with studying for finals and a part-time job? Agonizing.
You sigh, wanting nothing more but to tell your professor to eat shit. But you couldn't. Well, you could, but that probably would go over very nicely.
Despite all your best efforts, the mountain of work before you feels overwhelming. You've got about 10,000 more words to write, then you have to circle back and do the abstract.
You glance outside your window, greeted with darkness. You lean back in your chair, letting your shoulders slump, wishing for some kind of relief.
“This is hopeless.” You mutter, throwing your crumpled notes in the trash.
You fought the urge to cry or commit a crime. Either one would work at this point. Or both.
"Hey, pretty girl," a familiar voice called out, and your body instantly relaxed. "It’s your handsome, handsome boyfriend. Your mom said I could come up."
You rolled your eyes at the sound of Peter’s voice and walked toward the door with a small smile tugging at the corner of your lips.
Dressed in comfortable sweats, his brown hair a fluffy mess, his cheeks flushed a bit from the cold, and his glasses slightly crooked on his nose.
"Hi, Pete," you said, trying to sound nonchalant, though your heart was already racing. "You’re looking extra nerdy tonight."
“Well, thanks.” Peter smiled, his eyes lazily scanning over you. “I thought it was perfect for spending the night with my amazing, smart, undoubtedly beautiful and stressed-out girlfriend.”
You rolled your eyes, leaning against the doorframe. “If you keep talking about how amazing I am, I’ll have to give you an A+,” you teased.
“Now I really have to live up to my perfect boyfriend status.” Peter winked, stepping into your room, his eyes quickly scanning the pile of textbooks and papers strewn across your desk. “Still stuck on that paper, huh?”
"Yeah, it sucks the life out of me," you muttered, running a hand roughly through your hair, “I’ve been stuck on the same paragraph for the last hour.”
You sit back down at your desk again, glaring at your computer as if it has insulted your entire bloodline. But Peter bought it for you and added the stickers himself. It was perfect. Just like your Peter. While your professor was like a spawn from the depths of hell, who added 5 pages to the requirements the week before it was due.
Peter chuckled, the sound of his voice like a soothing balm to your weary mind. "I see. Well, if it’s any consolation, I’m pretty sure you could write a paper on the properties of your stressed brain and still get an A." He walked up to your desk, giving you a cocky little grin. “I mean, I could totally do it for you, y’know. I’m pretty good with words, my fingers, my tongue and my ability to ramble on endlessly about, well, everything?”
You blush and roll your eyes, amused despite yourself. "Really? You think you could just write it for me?"
Peter shrugged, leaning against your desk, the cocky grin still on his face. “Oh, absolutely. I could take this whole thing and turn it into a masterpiece. I’m Peter Parker after all, baby. You could just sit back and relax, while I do all the heavy lifting, which is easy for the guy with certain cool abilites. You could even, y'know, take a break,” he added.
You laughed, but it was more of a tired chuckle than anything truly amused.
“You’re ridiculous,” you said, trying to focus on your laptop again. “You don’t even know the topic, Pete.”
“True.” He pretended to think about it for a second. “But it could be something about molecules or atoms?” He gave you a sly smile. “I mean, I’m practically a walking periodic table. And if chemists do it on the table periodically, we can too.”
Your cheeks flushed at his implication. “You’re such a dog.”
Peter grinned, a little glint in his eye as he took a step closer. "Well, if you are about to combust, let’s just say I’m the perfect solution. After all, I’m all about bonding chemistry, especially with you," he said, winking.
You snorted, despite your frustration, your cheeks flushing from both the playful flirtation and the weight of the work still looming over you. "Stop it," you said, unable to keep the smile off your face. “You’re so corny.”
Peter leaned closer, his hand brushing your hair back from your face, and his smile softened. “I can’t help it. You bring out the best in me,” he said, before adding, “and the worst, apparently.”
You rolled your eyes, but this time, there was no hiding the grin that tugged at your lips. "You’re gonna distract me with your terrible puns. But I’m behind. If I stop now, I won’t get it done.”
Peter’s smile faded into something softer as he gently rubbed your head, his hand moving in slow circles on your scalp.
You fold faster than a lawn chair for this man as your eyes close, a protest dying on your lips.
“I get it, sweet girl. I do. But you’ve been working that pretty little ass off for hours, and you’re only going to make yourself more frustrated if you keep going like this. I’m not saying you can’t finish it because that would be a lie. I am never not in awe of you. But just take a break.” He paused, watching you with those warm, brown eyes. “Let me help you relax for just a little bit. Then, you’ll have the energy to kill this paper.”
“I’m fine,” you muttered, though your resistance was weakening. “I don’t need a break.”
Peter’s hand moved to your shoulder, his warm fingers easing the knots with praticed ease. He knew every spot to hit to make you melt. “A quick break will help you, baby.” You were all but purring.
You hesitated for a moment, but when your eyes locked with Peter’s warm, brown eyes, you were a goner.
“Okay, Pete,” you mumbled, giving in. “Fine. I’ll take a break. But only for a little bit.”
Peter grinned, victorious, and without hesitation, dragging you to your bed. “I knew you’d see things my way, baby,” he said, his voice full of smug satisfaction. “Now, let’s get you properly relaxed. In more ways than one.”
As soon as your head hit the pillow, you sighed in relifef. You looked up at Peter, who was taking off his jacket, revealing the softest sweater. You needed him.
Peter crawled up beside you, grinning down at you like a prey in his trap. “I promise, I won’t let you do any more work until you’re feeling like yourself again. Then, we can tackle that paper together. Not a moment sooner.”
You laughed. "Yeah, right," you teased, rolling your eyes. “Sure, and then we’ll write a paper about quantum physics and why it’s best enjoyed with cookies.”
“Ah!” Peter gasped, his eyes lighting up. “Quantum physics and cookies? Now that’s a bond I can get behind. Who needs regular chemistry when we’ve got this kind of reaction?”
You snorted, your frustration finally melting away with Peter's playful jokes and gentle teasing. He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, then your nose, and then finally, your lips.
“See?” he whispered against your lips. “Much better.”
Then, without warning, he starts peppering you with soft, quick kisses all over your face, making you laugh despite yourself.
“Peter!” you exclaim, trying to push him away, but his hands hold you gently in place, the kisses relentless and warm.
He pulls back just long enough to look at you, eyes glinting with mischief. “You need to smile more, you know? Seeing my girl happy always makes me happy.”
A warmth spreads through your chest. And just like that you are reminded that you are the luckiest girl ever.
Peter’s grin widens at your smile, and he leans in again, this time planting a soft, sweet kiss on your lips. You melt as his tongue slips into your mouth.
And for the first time all night, you feel light. Peter Parker was your solace.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he murmurs, pulling away just slightly. “And neither is your paper. So how about we just focus on this for a while? Just you and me.”
Peter rubs your back as you relax into him, your world shifting from stress to calm in the span of a few minutes. His voice is soft as he whispers jokingly, “Just relax for me, okay? Let me be your hero.”
“You always are.” You smile and pull him closer, letting the weight of the paper slip away for a little while longer.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for reading. My professor did, in fact, add five pages to the requirements for the paper a week before it was due, so this was totally self-indulgent.
But I hope you enjoyed this :)
Much love x

An Important announcement ⭐️
So as some of you may know, though I’m not quite sure if I’ve said this before but before I was a writer on here I was an editor (still do sometimes). And I found out about tumblr from a friend @slut4milfsss who’s not active anymore :(. Basically she used her work piece for the intro in one of her edit and I was like “ I need to know where I can read that” and she directed me over here. And honestly at first I had absolutely no business or urge to write fics…. Until there were barely any Marilyn thornhill fanfics on here at the time, hence the reason for my username so I began writing my own fics and over time I eventually started writing on different characters/fandoms.
I’ve loved writing since I was in elementary school but my love really grew in high school, and I loved literature and I had that fattest crush on my professor Ms. Lane who’s now Mrs. Cambridge ( don’t worry guys she knows and she’s honestly fine with my little story lmao). Growing up with parents who had money wasn’t always the nicest experience, most of the time I used writing as a coping mechanism with my depression and anxiety.
Graduating high school a bit early, and then before going to college I took a gap year to really decide what I wanted to do with my life and I decided whole heartedly on psychology! But anyway cut the long story short, I’ve had this app for 2 1/2 years which is crazy because it feels like yesterday when my writing started getting recognition. I’m honestly so proud of the work I did and the friends and amazingly talented and supportive writer buddies I’ve come across but unfortunately I’m not 18, 21 and 23 anymore next year (2025) I’m gonna be 25….😭😔. Time flew so much! I literally remember my high school days, college days and university days as well as my gap year in London so well.
I’m a clinical psychologist and in June I did my final course exams and I’m now officially an badge clinical psychologist with my own office in NYC and let’s just say I love my job it has a deeper meaning behind it and waking up everyday and getting the privilege to meet and therapy patients struggling with their MH and working along side some of the best doctors has always been my dream. Recently I’ve started another short course work in neuroscience and it’s so intriguing. Trust me wasting your 20’s away in degrees is not boring it’s worth it.
With that being said. This year wasn’t the best or easiest year for me. Don’t even get me started on 2023.I’ve got a lot of good things going for me right now, new friends, for the summer I traveled to L.A, I went to one the the VP’s rally where I got a picture with her, new experiences and most of all I think I may have met the love of my life! <3. And now going into 2025 I need space and a little breather. I wanna do some new stuff, I wanna travel and I wanna be happy with friends and family and work on some personal relationships and most importantly myself.
With that being said I will be taking a break from tumblr and taking a step back from this account and writing in general . I don’t know when I’ll be back or if I’ll ever be be back (that’s not decisive as yet for now I promise it’s just a break) I’ve taken breaks before, especially before my CPB exams and some random anon people decided to bash me in my own anon box as if I don’t have a life of my own….. but anywaysss I know I have a bunch of requests in my inbox which I will try to get through while I’m away along with CHP 10 the finale of my lady d series. I do love writing for you guys and this app has been my safe place and just a place of peace, smiles, experiences and growth, and I don’t know why I feel like I’m out growing my jacket. But I do want to focus on certain areas in my life now before I make decisions I don’t want to. I’ll always come back and reblog and share my love and support once in a while so don’t worry.
So To all my favorite writers @regalbootie @daydream-cement @prettygreenpills @littledollll @cissyenthusiast010155 @v3nusxsky @d4rkhold @wifeofnatasharomanoff @milfsloverblog @brienneoftarth1989 @willalovexx @daddy-heather-dunbar @togrowoldinv @kararomanoff @harksness @weemssapphic @storiesofsvu2-0 @schemmentigfs @ottiliaxwritten @ilovehugslikealotalot @m1lfsh4ke @gamma-rae-bursts , more in numbers than I can ever tag ( sorry if I didn’t tag you! I literally can’t remember the rest) , sorry for the random tag as well guys 😭☹️ but I do wanna say a small heart felt thank you, not only for being the most generous, genuine, kind, supportive, authentic, optimistically talented writers I’ve ever encountered but for just doing what you do, being a writer can be so hard and it takes endless courage but you guys manage to come through regardless. I remember reading some of you guys work and was in constant awe, most of my motivation and will power to write and be inspired came from you guys. And to my mutuals…. @willalovexx @luisa323 @milkiedimitrescu @m1lfsh4ke @gamma-rae-bursts @mymiraclewitch @kmaxmadness (and again sorry if I forgot anyone) Words cannot describe how much I love you guys. My love pours out beyond words, I will always cherish the continuous amount of love, generosity and support you all have given me. Especially the love you showed to me in times of anon hate and towards my fanfics. I truly did enjoy my time on this app all the fun times 😂 and most definitely the comments. I’ve made so many friends on here like Heidi who deactivated her account sadly but we are still so close and talk everyday on instagram.
I forbid any tears from this post!😤 but I really do love you guys and I will always think of each and everyone of you. And I wish nothing but the best for all you!🤍🌸. Remember to stay true to yourselves, go out with friends, fall in love, do silly things, give yourself a reason, do what makes you happy! Always…. And please do take breaks. Don’t write your life away when there’s so many amazing opportunities, experiences and people waiting. The world is waiting, the life than you want is waiting. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, wishing everyone a very heart felt holidays and happy new year!🎆🎊
— sincerely, your best friend.
