today my college tutor told me to rethink my university choices and career because instead of being a dental nurse I’d be more likely to be the dentist, and instead of being an assistant I’d be more likely to be the teacher. according to him, I’m WAYYYYY better than that (his actual words) and I’m smarter than I think I am

so I’ve now applied to be an English teacher 😭🤣 as tutor Keith says: ‘just based on the way you write you’re worth so much more than that, you can do so much better than that’. apparently even though I miss sessions, he said I’m well on my way to a high grade at the end and I’ve already got extremely high ones. not to toot my own horn or anything, I just feel very proud of myself rn🤣

"I don’t have any social media anymore, whether for myself or my art. I honestly don’t draw much at all anymore. At the time I had my accounts, I was very ill and agoraphobic. I used my hobbies as a distraction from working on myself, and so I spent the entire day drawing, or playing video games, or doing some loser shit. I started drawing less once I started trying to be better. Got my GED, my license, a job. I’m in school now. Got accepted into my program of choice and I’m in therapy. Joining him at the high table he was at, you shrugged off your jacket, giving Frankie ample time to check you out without you noticing. Unbeknownst to you, he was actually relieved when you called so soon after your supposed date time. The small part of him that held out a tiny flame for you, the part that loved making you smile, the part that wanted to be the reason you got dressed up, the part that wanted to ravage you six ways to Sunday, was aggressively clawing at the mental cage it was usually kept in.

“Can I get you two anything?” The server interrupted whatever Frankie was about to say.

He was quick to recover and smoothly ordered your usual drink orders and some fries to munch on as he didn’t know how hungry you were after abandoning your date. The stark contrast to your horrible encounter with the guy off the dating app had you pausing to look at him in wonder.

“What?” he asked, confusion evident.

“Nothing, I just didn’t know how predictable I was.”

“You’re not predictable, I just know what you like,” his eyes softened at the end of his sentence. There’s a look in his eyes you can’t quite place and a tightness in your chest at his comment.

Well, he should know what you liked, you’ve spent more than enough time together for him to have figured it out by now. And to be fair, you knew his usual order, too, and have picked up his favourite takeout on your surprise drop ins.

“So, tell me what this guy did that pissed you off so much you couldn’t even make it through dessert.”

So you did, much to his amusement.

“It’s funnier now but I’m telling you, it was so awkward!”

You were glad that you could laugh about it with him, the mirth in his eyes contagious as the two of you get lost in a fit of giggles again. Humming as you munched on a fry, you look back up to see Frankie just watching you with an unreadable gaze.

“What? Is there something on my face?”

“I just like looking at you.”

You felt the heat rising to your face and suddenly your drink looks entirely too interesting.

“Frankie…”

“Can I look at you some more? Please, querida? You look really nice.” He reaches out to brush some of your hair back that had fallen into your face. You make a noise, somewhere in between shock and confusion and look at him wide eyed.

“My God,” Frankie whispers, hears the distinct hitch of your breath. “You’re so dense,” he says as he settles his hand against your cheek.

“I’m not… I’m not dense,” you breathe out, leaning into his touch.

You’re certain he can hear your heart thundering in your chest as he slowly inches towards you. He definitely heard your breath hitch and he’s looking at you and looking at you with his soft brown eyes and oh-

“Can I? I’ve been really wanting to. Can I?” Frankie is staring at your lips as he mumbles this, effectively silencing you.

Your mouth stupidly opens and closes a few times, trying to figure out if he means what you think he means before you nod, finding yourself staring at his mouth now.

His lips are gentle, soft against yours when he finally closes the distance between you two. The hand on your cheek angling your face upwards towards his to better mold your lips together, deepening the kiss while you gasp at the intoxicating feeling. Frankie takes the opportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth, sliding hotly against your own and groaning at the taste of you.

Pulling back for air, you’re both panting, foreheads resting against each other but you’re too shy to look at him just yet.

“Was that-“

Before he’s able to finish asking you if that was okay - which was such a stupid question on its own, you’d have to tease him about that later - you surge forward to fuse your lips together again, effectively cutting him off.

You’ll show him it was more than okay.

Unlike my impression of the mock, this is a ROMCOM🤡 Yeah the pilot was not clear at all FirstKhao have great chemistry but it just felt like I was seeing SandRay in another universe. On the other hand, JoongDunk have finally made it out of the universities. I heard that it’s gonna be based off The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, which confuses me more. I’m quite skeptical about this

•Perfect 10 Liners: Not an ensemble again🤦‍♀️ I was so confused when I saw the huge ass line of actors onstage but it seems like this will be split into 3 parts to focus on all of the cps. So basically it’s Midnight Series but only gay with Jittirain’s mediocre engineering plot💀 Even if I were to watch this it will only be for JuniorMark but no promises made cuz I can’t even bring myself to watch We Are rn

•Ossan’s Love Th: actually I was seeing EarthMix in the opposite roles but Earth being the one stuck in between is much more fresh ig. I cringed a lot while watching this. Idk Earth maybe comedy is not your forte? I won’t be sure until the actual thing will start airing but still the sirens are on🚨

•Scarlet Heart Thailand: Tu is back again in an adaptation after quite a while. They’ve put together a strong cast here but why is Gun not here!?! I’ve neither watched the series nor read the novel but I’ve heard people say it was traumatising🤡 Since it’s a historical setting, this will cost a lot in production I don’t expect this to air until the end of next year

•Leap Day: This is the best one out of the lakorns announced in part 2. Gun is always acting his ass off damn. This show will be stressful asf but the plot is pretty unique. Everyone’s reaction when Pond said Gun is playing his younger brother was so skdjjdj

Also before anyone comes at me like ‘she did this to herself with poor dental hygiene’ I would like to remind you that poverty has never been kind to peoples teeth, and I have been straight up abused by dentists so I’m sorta terrified of most of them but the one I got here who can get a tooth out in under two minutes (actually two teeth out in under two minutes) without breaking them or using knockout drugs. I’m too paranoid and poor and disabled to let a dentist knock me out. I’m scared. And more than that, I’m severely allergic to mint which means I have to use children’s toothpaste which often leads to brittle teeth which are easy to crack. These cracks can lead to cavities like the big gaping one that just put an infection in my face. So. Yeah. It’s a system that’s intended to fail. And my family doesn’t have good teeth genetics to begin with. So. Just. Try and be kind rn. I’m not demanding help but sometimes my readers or bloggers like to spoil people and all I’m saying is that if they wanna they can. It’s a shitty situation rn.

So, I have EDS, and my teeth are kinda shit. I brush regularly and all that but I still get new cavities all the time, and it’s expensive paying for them to be fixed. How did you decide that it was the right time for you to get dentures? I’m pretty sure I’m going to need them eventually, and I’m not sure if it’s the kind of thing I should put off as long as I can, or if I can go ahead and do it at a young age (23 rn) and get it over with.

What was the cost like for you?

You mentioned recovery being difficult—how long did it take?

Do you still have to worry about any dental health issues or is it pretty much fine to eat sugary foods and such now?

Unfortunately, my current dentist is committed to “saving” as many of my teeth as possible, so I haven’t been able to discuss this with her.

Hey this answer is long af. (Sorry it took me a few days it's been a very full week.)

The decision to get dentures, for me, was a matter of my ability to consume food. I had some medical neglect as a kid and a genetic predisposition towards bad teeth, and it fucking accordioned into a nightmare mouth situation. I spent years in pain from eating most things. Many of the roots in my mouth were exposed, I had constant infections and was sick all the time. I'm incredibly lucky that I didn't die, so many people die from untreated dental infections.

Ideally, it's better to wait as long as you can to get them, because pulling that many teeth does fuck up all the bone around it, and the jaw bone will compact down over time, impacting your mouth shape and bite strength, or something like that? It's better to wait, if possible. I was just about to turn 29, I think, when I got mine? I'm not sure- and that's young for full dentures, but it was (at that point) extremely necessary. If you can stay on top of filling cavities and such, it's really a lot better to hold onto your own teeth for as long as possible.

I'm really sorry, but I don't remember the cost- I know we had to get care credit and a loan from my (now former) in-laws, and I went to a dentist who specialized in low-income no-insurance situations and basically did the operation for me at cost, because they were worried if they didn't do it I was going to die, and I only went under local anesthetic instead of being knocked out. So it was relatively cheap? But this was around ten years ago and I honestly don't remember the numbers.

Full recovery took about six months, that's how long it takes your jaw to heal from being brutalized. I would say I could eat most things okay about 6 weeks in- you have to be careful and cut everything into little bites when your mouth is healing at first. And that means everything. Sandwiches, whatever. You're not supposed to bite into things until the incisions in your mouth heal. Stick to his as rigorously as you can. You also have to relearn how to bite into things. Also, you're going to bite your tongue a lot- your teeth have changed position and shape. It's kind of a lot, but in comparison to 'I can eat three soft things and my mouth hurts all the time forever', t'was a vast improvement.

I don't worry about my dental health issues, if any, because I don't have dental health insurance or teeth- I don't know if I need any per se, I just don't do it. The only stuff I can't eat because of my dentures is stuff that's real tacky- taffy, gum, chewy caramels. (I actually tend to suck on taffy or caramels rather than try to chew them.) I have not found a gum that works with dentures yet, even the ones that claim they will work. But they don't pull the dentures apart or anything, they're just a pain in the ass to chew and stick to the denture in difficult and awkward ways. (Also, I find puffy cheetohs obnoxious to eat with my dentures- they adhere in awkward ways.)
