(Heavy-duty Spoilers for Hadestown ahead.)
The original Hades/Persephone myth wasn’t a sweet love story between the light and dark. It was a case of kidnapping and forced marriage and a grieving mother not knowing what happened to her baby. And the result is how it affects humans: the cycle of life and death and the seasons.
Because of the contrast between the type of environment Persephone is from and the one Hades is from, they make a pretty picture to look at. So the modern retellings have the relationship between Persephone and Hades be more mutual, usually like they eloped or something.
I’ll admit, it has some appeal to me too; I enjoy the game Hades, and I’ve enjoyed some digital art of the true-love premise.
That said, my favorite modern version that I’ve seen so far is Hadestown. The idea behind that is that they fell in love, but due to their personalities, they don’t always work well together. Persephone needs periods of separation from Hades. And for a while it works, but as time goes on and they get older, Hades’ insecurities start getting the better of him and he gets more demanding of her time. And she still does love him so she stays with him … but it’s not good for her emotionally. The environment is stifling and depressing to her. She starts numbing herself with liquor and drugs to pass the time, and then goes on extreme binges when she’s away from home. And Hades continues to worry about her no longer loving him, not realizing that his efforts to keep her close just widens the rift between them. He makes changes to his realm to bring some of the overworld conditions to the underworld, but he can only do it through the filter of his own understanding, and it makes the environment … weird. “Unnatural” as she puts it.
There are themes in Hadestown about trust vs doubt, optimism vs pessimism, hope vs cynicism. Orpheus and Eurydice are a fresh couple falling in love with optimistic hopes ahead of them (Eurydice is already somewhat cynical, but she wants to believe things can be better). Hades and Persephone used to be like that when they were young (in this story), but time and life and experience has turned them cynical. They’d even forgotten how they originally felt about each other. “The honeymoon is over,” as some say.
In the end, they’re reminded vividly of how they used to be and are willing to at least try again. They make no promises, no guarantees (because life has none), but they’re willing to make the effort. Specifically, the dialogue between them goes like this:
PERSEPHONE: “Think they’ll make it?”
HADES: “I don’t know.”
PERSEPHONE: “Hades, you let them go.”
HADES: “… I let them try.”
PERSEPHONE: “And how about you and I? Are we going to try again?”
HADES: “… It’s time for Spring. We’ll try again next Fall.”
PERSEPHONE: “Wait for me.”
HADES: “I will.”
As we know, things don’t work out with Orpheus and Eurydice … but Spring does come again, which indicates things aren’t strictly hopeless. Earlier in the play, Eurydice said, “I haven’t seen a Spring or Fall since … I can’t recall.” “It’s either blazing hot or freezing cold.” Yet there it is. And one could say that the relationship between Persephone and Hades had a winter period and it’s starting to bloom again. Which is a theme with them.
…….. And because I love Hadestown so much, I’m expanding on it. Hades and Persephone deciding to try again is a big thing with the play. We’re told at the beginning that the story we’re about to be told is a tragedy. And it is. In this version, Eurydice broke up with Orpheus due to insecurity and doubt. His show of devotion convinced her to try again, but then he had doubts—doubting her, doubting himself, doubting everyone else … and they couldn’t make it work because of it.
It ends in tragedy.
“But we sing it anyway,” as the narrator puts it. “Because here’s the thing: to know how it ends, and still begin to sing it again. As if it might turn out this time.” We see the way the couple meet again, but this time there’s a tiny detail that’s changed. The flower that Orpheus made for Eurydice was already blooming when she walked in. And we also see that Spring has returned. So “hope springs eternal” is another theme. So long as you continue trying, the story isn’t a forgone conclusion. There might be a period of dysfunction, but it’s not inevitable. Maybe things won’t work out in the end. Try again. Maybe they will.
Honestly, Hadestown is a pretty genius play, IMO. Aside from those themes, it links the cynicism and insecurity with the ways that people can be taken advantage of when they’re vulnerable. With the seasons out of whack, the routines of people’s lives are thrown off and things are more uncertain. Hades then recruits the desperate to come to Hadestown with the promise of secure conditions. However, it’s a trap—their lives become dedicated to unending projects that will “protect” them from … those not in their “desired” position. There’s a song that shows how they get brainwashed into cyclical thinking that they’re fortunate. The jobs are themed to fit in with industry and capitalism (mines, factories, warehouses). Hades profits off the work everyone puts in, and preaches to them—and makes them repeat—how fortunate they are to have the jobs in this exclusive place (you need a ticket to get there). The secluded Hadestown becomes unnaturally hot and bright all year round, and people eventually lose the memory of anything else besides the jobs they have to do to survive; as far as they know, this is the best way, the only way. Persephone also profits similarly by running a speakeasy, which has tastes of all the elements one can’t find anywhere else in Hadestown. But just tastes—they’re all temporary to the never-ending grind of the daily life.
The environment of what Hadestown has become—for it’s hinted that it wasn’t always like this—and the disruption of the harmony between Hades and Persephone allude to climate change and global warming.
When the play starts, Orpheus comes off as very naive and optimistic, which Eurydice—a young woman who survives by continuing to change location when things start going south—finds skeptical. I mean, he says he can heal the world with a song. But despite her doubts she starts to believe him—he played some of the song, and a flower bloomed from nothing—and she has a sweet and hopeful romance with him. Unfortunately, winter comes sooner and harsher than expected, and resources become scarce. She doubts her future; she loves him, but doesn’t see how she can survive by staying with him. So when she’s given the offer for security and the promise of never being hungry again in Hadestown, she takes it. During this, Orpheus was focused on trying to finish that magic song, so he hadn’t noticed her insecurities and starving condition. He immediate goes after her to Hadestown without a ticket, walking an incredibly long way alone and braving guards and guard dogs.
Eurydice becomes disillusioned pretty quickly in Hadestown that it was the better option, but it already has started draining her of the will to find other options or go back…. And then Orpheus shows up. However, he learned then that Eurydice agreed to spend the rest of her life in Hadestown; she had gone willingly. Being an outsider, Hades has the locals beat the crap out of him … and these two elements finally gives Orpheus some of the doubt that leads people to give up. He considers just going home without her … but then he gets angry, given how the conditions are dictated and enforced by those in power.
The people of Hadestown rally behind him and that gets the attention of Persephone and Hades. Persephone is moved by the dedication Orpheus has for Eurydice, and their love for each other reminds her of how she used to be with Hades. Hades needed to be reminded more vividly and have it spelled out for him how his current state of mind is toxic to himself as well as everyone else; he’s letting his insecurities get the better of him and he’s making it everyone else’s problem, while not really becoming happier himself. He’s shown the comparison of who he is now with who he used to be and how he used to feel. He becomes conflicted. He wants to believe and hope again, but … the doubt is still there. He’s still afraid to let go of anything. So he bargains. Orpheus can leave and Eurydice will follow him. But he wants to see that trust and optimism demonstrated. If Orpheus can trust himself and Eurydice, they can go forward. But if he looks back, she returns to Hadestown. See, Hades still doesn’t want to give anything up. The whole town has their eyes on this couple and they all want to leave and try for a different life; this would bring down his empire. But if he demands Eurydice stays, he’s giving up on renewing what it was like to feel hopeful and young again, and his problems with his marriage continue. Thus the compromise. And he knows how separating the loving couple will leave room for doubts to come in. It happened to him, after all, while he was separated from his wife. And it happened when Eurydice was separated from Orpheus earlier.
Sadly … the doubt wins out. Orpheus had become cynical from his experience in Hadestown. He had finished his song, and it led to hope for the world’s future, but now his future is uncertain. He failed Eurydice before, he might fail again. He’s more aware of some of the ugliness out there. (One could also interpret it as her having left him, so why would he trust her implicitly this time?) So, even though Eurydice, who has had experience with that, is willing to try again … Orpheus’ trust fails, and he looks back.
One might think this wouldn’t bode well for the whole future, that everything in the world hinged on that one look. But the idea is to TRY AGAIN. Hades still had doubts, had wanted to see the trust demonstrated … but was still willing to try again with his wife. Spring still returned. People who had given up their lives for Hadestown were still willing to try again, despite the risks. Orpheus had been discouraged when he learned Eurydice left him, but he was still willing to try again, and that led to the whole town protesting against the ruling class. And, on the more meta level, we repeat stories that we know end sad, and sometimes hope something will change. Just like this one. And from there we get variations.
Keep trying. Things may get better. Even if they get worse again, so long as you keep trying, nothing is determined. There’s always a chance.

Sky and Viktor's relationship is such a horror movie to me. You've got a man who was frustrated by the limitations placed on his life that were out of his control, like his class, mobility, and general health. Despite everything, he manages to rise beyond his station and avoid being an assistant for the rest of his life.
Then you've got a woman from the same background who admires him and all that he's accomplished in spite of the similar class based prejudices they faced all the while she's his assistant. She works up the courage to take leap of faith and reach out to him with her own research to show what's possible if they worked together as equals. And then he gets her killed!
Sky's death isn't the end of it because while it affects Viktor it is in no way meaningful to Sky's life or value as a person whatsoever. Even the pendant he wears in her memory is based on the design of her notebook, but that was just her notebook's cover, she probably bought it from a store and the design itself is probably mass produced. Why not use Sky's signature that was in her letter and in the notebook, the thing part if the notebook with real value?
Then Sky's brought back in s2 and she really only exists to be Viktor's assistant again, who he kills, again! But this time it's different because this time Viktor's making a conscious decision to look Sky in the eye and kill her... to prove he's changed.
In the middle of all this, in no way has Sky's death been mourned by her family or anyone else who could have known her. Jayce wasn't affected by the reveal, he didn't think it was important to tell Heimerdinger, or anyone who knew her. Nothing about her life, death, or disappearance has spurred any emotional reaction or even curiosity about what happened to her.
Sky's new life was also extremely isolated because she became further tied to him (in some ways you could say she was defined by him). Viktor never mentioned Sky to anyone in the material plane during his commune arc, so she only exists to him and she has no way to communicate with others, she's just there for Viktor's sake.
Then in the finale we learn this all a part of a big time loop where Viktor actively set the wheels in motion to have him and Jayce create hextech together, but if everything follows as is, that means Sky is violently killed in those timelines too. That means Viktor weighed the costs and decided over and over and over again that Sky was expendable enough to let her die for his plan to work eventually. How is that not murder at this point?
What's worse is that post-finale Sky's humanity is a point of dispute amongst the fandom, the VAs, and the writers themselves. Sky's the hexcore manipulating Viktor. No, Sky's a manifestion of Viktor's guilt. No, she's actually supposed to represent his humanity/conscious made physical. And in none of these arguments do they discuss Sky as a person, she's just an object meant to serve Viktor both in the narrative sense and literal sense as his assistant.
The most absolutely maddening part is that with Viktor's new bio on the League site, not only have most traces of Viktor had been scrubbed by Piltover's archive, but Sky's life has been completely wiped. Her death was implied to have been swept under the rug, and only described as the "loss of life" consequence from his Hexcore experiment.
Viktor was afraid of dying a senseless death (created by the conditions Piltover condemned his birth to) in obscurity and then he turned it into Sky's destiny.

It's way too hot and I am way too tired to do any more efforts, so excuse the critical lack of quality here.
Tumblr media
If you didn't know, Cole is my favourite Power Ranger :D
And while I was binge watching Ninjago I had the pleasant surprise to see him physically and mentally traumatized in season 5 😈
And since I'm a huge sucker for angst, my brain immediately thought of developing that idea in order to hurt my beautiful baby boy some more. That and also the fact that my brain immediately looks for logic in the laws of cartoon physics (I really shouldn't do that...)
So I bring you the "Cole is a Ghost Kind-of-Saga". I still have a few more ideas to exploit, notably adressing the ways the other ninjas will help him cope with his new condition :3
And maaaaybeeeee a small comic too 😇
Anyways, I will let my brain rest a bit for now and sleep.

I mentioned this once so have a thee
Flight pilot and co-pilot GhostSoap AU.
Ghost's messing around and saying the stupidest things while they wait for the appointed time to take off and Soap just won't stop laughing.
Ghost: Alright, all passengers with destination to Wankerville please fasten your seatbelts and hold tight because this will be a long trip. In case of a turbulence you've got no need to worry about a fucking thing, because I'm pretty sure my co-pilot still remembers how to fly this thing.
Soap, who's laughing his ass off suddenly stops: ...Simon?
Ghost: Yeah?
Soap: I think this thing was on.
Ghost: ...The whole time?
Soap: *slowly nods*
The passengers who have been listening to this stupidity for the past half an hour:

So you know the “A redeemed villain joins the team of heroes” trope?
And the “supervillain captures the team of heroes and tortured the weakest” trope?
And also the “whumpee is scared that no one cares about their suffering because of their past mistakes” trope?
What if you smushed them all together
Redeemed villain joins the Heroes team, and though they’re good now, they’re still a bit of an outcast among the ranks. The team isn’t outright mean or ignoring to them, but after battles and such Villain is always the last to get checked over in the medbay, their wounds are downplayed, they’re made to work through pain and illness because “come on, it’s not that bad, we’ve all dealt with worse”
So they start hiding injuries, tending to their own wounds behind the locked door of their bedroom. They stop attempting to socialize with the group, and instead isolate themself, and the heroes are fine with that, they don’t care. “If villain wanted to talk, they’d come to us. We’re not going to go in there and bother them.” Of course, whenever villain tried to talk, their worries were pushed aside and discarded without a care, so it doesn’t make a difference when they stop trying.
Then a mission goes south, and they all end up in a big cell, chained and cuffed with ability restrictors. Supervillain takes them all out one by one to interrogate them, and after each return the person is always injured and bleeding. Youngest is the first to be tortured, so after they come back, no one even notices as Villain is dragged out of the cell, they’re too busy tending to Youngest.
Bonus points if the heroes get mad at Villain and accuse them of conspiring with Supervillain, plotting this capture.
Edit: I suppose there could be a nice comfort scene after this where the heroes apologize after realizing how awful they are but where’s the fun in that

#9 from the prompts list! Can it be a ship from MOTA with Benny Demarco in it? I love him sm. Love you too!! 💖
Prompt 9) …in public. It's BennyBrady set in Theo and my Actress!Gale and Race-car-driver!John au! I hope that's okay, nonny <3
“Y’know what they’ve been saying, ya?” Benny asked, nodding towards the hawks swarming just outside the security barriers.
“No, what?” the blonde replied, following his gaze, lips curling in disdain.
“They’re predicting a break up between you and John,” Benny sighed, leaning against the trailer, looking towards the sky, “and that we’ll hook up instead.”
“Still haven’t caught on, have they?” Gale asked, turning her back to them from where she sat on the steps.
“If they haven’t caught on to how madly and disgustingly in love with John you are, why would you think they’re capable of catching on to me?” Benny asked, sarcasm dripping from his tone. Gale snorted unattractively, rolling her eyes and smacking his thigh.
“Y’all are just as madly and disgustingly in love, y’know,” Gale replied fondly, fiddling with her pendent, “just wait till they catch on, then you’ll be in for it.”
“I dunno, mouse, I don’t think they’re ever gonna figure it out. For gossip hounds, they’re a rather oblivious bunch, really,” he muttered, casting the paparazzi another look before his gaze settled on Gale.
“They just got some busted up sniffers, sweets,” Gale replied, pulling a face when the accent didn’t come out right. Benny tried not to laugh, earning a glare.
“Apparently,” he agreed, sinking to sit by her on the step, “whatcha think I have to do to make it painfully obvious?”
“For starters? Not sit this close to me,” the blonde joked, sticking her tongue out as she shifted on the step to make sure they both had plenty of room.
“Ha ha,” Benny monotoned, throwing his arm around her shoulders and dragging her closer to him again.
“You’re sweaty,” Gale complained, pouting, but letting him draw her closer.
“So’re you.”
“The worst, Benny, absolutely the worst.”
“I know.”
“How he puts up with you, I’ll never know. He should get a god damn award, I swear.”
“Same could be said for John with you, though,” Benny teased, flicking the tip of her nose with a grin. Gale snapped playfully at his finger. They both sighed as they heard a loud, angry shout from a few trailers over. Benny pulled his arm back and stood, offering a hand to Gale.
“C’mon, mouse, gotta get back,” Benny muttered as she took the hand, pulling herself to her feet and falling into step beside him.
It was uneventful— as was the preference, on set— and, the moment the director yelled cut, Gale collapsed in her trailer, Benny following along to lay on her. They’d been at it since 3 am, only breaking for short periods to eat, and it was edging on 6 pm by that point, and Gale was exhausted. Benny wasn’t doing much better, all things considered.
“You’re heavy,” Gale huffed from under the actor, shoving at his ribs. Benny whined and rolled off her, sprawling over the bed as if it were his trailer.
“Calling me fat?”
“Nah, just that your man feeds you well.”
“Is that not the same thing?”
“Hm, is it?” Gale teased, looking at him and shifting to bump their shoulders together. Benny grinned at her, swatting at her knee.
“Horrid,” he remarked, “a horrid woman. Simply nasty.”
“If it were the 50’s, I’dda been lobotomized, huh?”
“Without question,” Benny agreed solemnly. He tried to keep a straight face, but failed, bursting into laughter after a couple of seconds, Gale joining him.
“I think we’ve been up too long.”
“Probably. When’s John gonna be here?”
“Soon. What about Johnny?” Gale asked, shifting to press their shoulder’s together, looking at the ceiling. Benny sighed happily. He opened his mouth to answer and was cut off by the sound of a horn honking in beat.
“That’d be him,” Benny said, instead of whatever he was going to say originally.
“Hey, Bens?”
“Ya?”
“If you really wanna shut the paparazzi up, show them,” Gale suggested, sitting up and watching Benny gather his coat from her coat rack. They had separate trailers, but rarely did they use two. More often, they crammed themselves into one trailer together, sharing space. It wasn’t any wonder the gossip bloggers thought they were gearing up to get together.
“Leave it to you to come up with the most unsubtle of plans,” Benny muttered, rolling his eyes, blowing her a kiss before he hopped down out of the trailer, “hey, Johnny,” he greeted loudly, watching the driver climb out of the car, hair slicked back perfectly.
“DeMarco,” Johnny replied smoothly, smiling softly, shades perched on his perfectly straight nose. Benny smiled back, tossing his stuff in the car before rounding it to crowd Johnny against the hood of the MDX. Johnny let himself be pushed, putting his hands on Benny’s hips as Benny planted his hands on the hood of the car, faces hovering inches apart.
“Well, hello to you too,” Johnny hummed, arching an eyebrow. Benny huffed against the other’s neck.
“Gale had a suggestion.”
“Maybe we should ask her for suggestions more often, then,” Johnny whispered, conspiratorially. Benny huffed again.
“Shut up,” he grumbled before shoving their lips together in an altogether too-rough kiss. He heard to hawks at the security fences scrambling as he pressed into the other. Johnny’s hand left his hip to wrap around the back of his neck, pulling him deeper, tongue lapping at his lips. Benny parted to let his boyfriend in, easily, happily. He knew the paparazzi were having a field day, but he didn’t care. Not when Johnny was pressed against him, warm and open and loving. Not when he could feel the hard press of Johnny’s cock against his own.
“Hmmmm, ya, definitely asking Gale for suggestions again,” Johnny breathed against Benny’s lips when he pulled away. Benny didn’t need to see his eyes to know how the pupils would be blown wide, sparkling with joy and want.
“Well, big boy, if you need her to tell you what to do next—” Benny didn’t get a chance to finish before Johnny’s lips were against his again, silencing him.
“Get in the car.”
“On it, boss,” Benny said with a wink, pulling quickly away from Johnny and making quick work of rounding the car again, ducking into the passenger seat. Johnny, after a moment of composing himself, climbed into the driver’s seat, adjusting his jeans as he did so.
Benny’s phone buzzed in his pocket, screen lit with a text from Gale.
Well, that’ll certainly put an end to any rumours.

who is brie?
Tumblr media
brie is a cotl oc, specifically my lamb for the penitence gamemode. they exist in a sort of parallel timeline to my main cotl au. i made a chart for this but i literally cant find it anywhere and i apparently didnt post it so ive recreated it on my ipad for you:
Tumblr media
simply put, brie is my evil lamb. they are a merciless and cruel cult leader who craves power above all else. they treat their followers as poorly as they can get away with because they enjoy it. in my mind theyre like one of those southern religious con artists. theres something very charming about them, and also very slimy. but i should note that in brie's timeline, the cleansing never fully took place. brie killed the bishops before all of the sheep could be slaughtered, because they took the crown before it was meant to be taken.
i call brie "half-god" because i feel like them winning the crown in a drunken game would mean that they dont really get all of the same powers that camembert has as the rightful owner. cam and the crown are friends; the crown speaks to them and sees them as an equal. brie has no idea that the crown is alive. it's just a tool to them. they're a god in most of the ways that matter, but they still need to eat and sleep just like mortals do. but the biggest difference between them i would say is the way they see their lives and their godhood which is best summed up by this message i sent in my oc channel in march

For the prompt game: 6 - 8 - 27. Coffee shop - exes - “that was a very bad idea. 0/10 would not recommend.”
For this ask/prompt game [X]
Kurt sits at a small table near the window of the bustling coffee shop, engrossed in a book, enjoying the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a rare lunch break from his unbelievably stressful job. Unbeknownst to him, a stranger walked in and took a seat at the counter having an incredibly difficult time keeping his eyes to himself; his thoughts running wild: Damn, if that man isn’t the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen! Be still my heart! Is he reading about Gene Kelly?
As Kurt turned a page, he looked up, met the man’s gaze, and smiled when the other man looked flustered and blushed, biting his lip shyly but didn’t look away. Kurt could swear he was saying, “Hi. How’s your morning?” with his eyes alone, and when he nodded at Kurt with that head of perfect curls, Kurt took it as confirmation that was precisely what he was asking. So he said, “Hi. I’m doing well. Come here often?” with his own, adding an infinitesimal wink, and felt a blush race against his cheeks.
The bell chimed, and they both looked toward the door. Kurt’s heart dreadfully skipped a beat when he spotted his ex-sort of-boyfriend, Fisher, entering the coffee shop. Of course! Of course, he’d show up now! Panic set in as he realized Fisher hadn’t seen him yet. Desperate to avoid an encounter, Kurt frantically looked around, searching for an escape route. Damn! Fisher was headed for him. He looked back at Blaine, who scrunched his eyes in concern, clearly picking up on Kurt’s distress. “He’s a jerk! You wanna help me here?” Kurt said with his eyes and a slight shake of his head, having absolutely no idea what he meant by that or how he thought a stranger could help.
“Kurt,” Fisher sneered much too loudly, towering over him. “Shocking. You’re not working?”
“You smell like desperation,” Kurt says as calmly as he can, turning a page in his book he hasn’t read.
“What the hell is your problem? What? We can’t even be civil in a coffee shop?”
Kurt’s head snaps up. “Civil?”
“Hello, love,” The stranger says, kissing Kurt on the top of his head and squeezing his hand. As he moves a chair closer, he says, “They were out of your favorite, so I ordered our backup.”
“Thank you,” Kurt says wide-eyed. He should be surprised by the whole interaction, but mostly, he’s wondering how his entire body can tingle from a stranger kissing his head and brushing his fingertips over his hand.
The stranger looks over at the man who is seething at him. “Hey! I’m Blaine. And you are?” He offers his hand.
“Fisher.” He shakes it, gripping Blaine’s hand, not in a friendly way.
“Ah! Fisher. That explains a lot.” Blaine laughs and shakes his head. “Quite a grip you have there. Trying to prove something?” He asks as he finally sits down, his shoulder touching Kurt’s and intertwining their hands.
Fisher huffs. “Since when have you two been together?”
“Can’t figure how that is any of your business. Unless…” Blaine turns to Kurt. “Is it any of his business?”
“Absolutely not, honey.”
“Thought not.” He kisses Kurt’s cheek and then looks up. “Can we help you? You’re blocking the precious sunshine.”
Fisher studies them, scrutinizing their hands.
“I’m not going to tell you again to leave me alone,” Kurt says.
“Kurt! I said I was sorry. I don’t understand why you’re being such an ass about all this.”
“Sorry?” Kurt laughs in disbelief. “Like that changes anything about the way you treat me.” He huffs an exhausted sigh and instinctually turns toward Blaine, getting lost in the warm, golden-brown hues that seem to hold a universe of emotions, creating an irresistible magnetic pull. Kurt is sure it would take a lifetime—maybe more—to explore the profound depth of Blaine’s soul staring back at him. He realizes he’s leaning forward, and his eyes dart to Blaine’s lips and then back up again. “Blaine…”
Blaine’s hand, not holding Kurt’s, reaches up to cradle his jaw, brushes his thumb over his cheek a few times, and nods, telling Kurt with his eyes, I feel it, too. “Want to go somewhere else where there isn’t a dark cloud hanging over us, and you can tell me all about your book?”
“Yeah.” Kurt nods and then gasps, surprised when Blaine leans over and gives him a peck on the lips. “Yeah. I’d like that.” He leans in and kisses Blaine again, grins spreading across their faces. Without a word, they’re standing, still holding hands.
“Disgusting saps,” Fisher growls and turns on his heel to order his coffee.
“That,” he tilts his head toward Fisher as they walk out, “was a very bad idea. Zero out of ten. Would not recommend!”
Blaine chuckles as he opens the door for Kurt. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Before you have to ask, he was one of those blind date situations. Perfect gentleman. Wined and dined me for a few weeks. And then… Well, his true colors showed up all too soon, and he didn’t take it well that I wanted nothing to do with him.”
“Ugh. I dislike him more by the second.”
“Good. That’s good. It should be a nice oozing loathing soon.”
Blaine laughs and squeezes Kurt’s hand.
“Thank you,” Kurt says. “You know, for all that back there.”
“Mmm...” Blaine simply hums and then looks at him with a mischievous grin, bumping into his shoulder. “Where are we going?”
“I have no idea. I thought maybe you knew.”
“Not a clue,” Blaine teases. “I only know I’m not ready to let go of your hand.”
“Well, that’s good because I’m pretty sure I’m never saying goodbye to you.”
Blaine beams and notices how the sunshine feels as warm as his heart.

I say that you don’t need to know the Taylor lore to appreciate her music and I MEAN it and yet I’m not sure Taylor saying “now I’m down bad crying at the gym” hits quite as hard if you didn’t spend all of 2014 watching her coming out of gyms in NYC wearing her perfect little model ‘fits with her short 1989 bob perfectly coiffed only to learn later all the heartbreak happening behind the scenes then TOO.
