The first comic takes place before the two started dating. Shrimpo is really really really bad at expressing emotions other than anger and frustration, so anytime he tries to express anything, he just blurts out his feelings without thinking. Then he gets second-hand embarrassment lol. Glisten was pretty aware that Shrimpo liked him before, but he's pretending to be surprised to make Shrimpo "feel better" (also to mildly embarrass him lol).

Also, I think that Shrimpo and Glisten bonding over hating Finn is very based and true. They need that autistic man to SHUT UP/silly

I think Shrimpo and Finn are very cousin coded. Not close enough to be siblings but definitely got some familial genes going on imo (plz don't shoot me Shrimpbowl shippers🙏🙏🙏) Doesn't stop Shrimpo from being violent towards Finn tho, and Finn does nothing to deter it lol (he finds it funny). Also, Glisten throws no punches bc he doesn't want to get his hands dirty.

On the other end, I've been thinking about Shimmer a lot lol. So here is a doodle of her with her "sister aunt" Toodles, and Pebbles.

They all get along super well. In this pic, Toodles is like 12ish and Shimmer is 4 (but her weird biology made her age up to like 7 here). Pebble is pebble, that's all you need to know.

Also, I was in a horror-ish mood earlier so here are some Twisteds <33 (below cut cuz kinda scary):

I love you angst comfort. My sib pointed out while playing one day that Shrimpo looked traumatized as a Twisted, which like, fair, but it make me think.

Glisten: "They say you are not here anymore. But I think you are."

I had this silly idea that Twisted Shrimpo was infected by Dandy personally, and that whole conflict got Shrimpo's lower jaw ripped off. He is very violent and volatile, and very hard to calm down. But, when he runs into a twisting Glisten alone and scared, he comforts him (to the best of his ability).

Since Glisten is still able to be somewhat conscious, he realizes that the Twisteds are actually not completely gone like he originally thought, and it helps him keep his sanity longer, hoping for a way out for everyone.

Willpower is a crazy thing.

On the complete opposite note, I love you horrifying freak of ichor child.

Since Shimmer was made from the ichor itself with no sort of skeleton or solid foundation, her condition is very unstable. And the problem is that her body is affected by her emotions. On a bad day, she can suffer from lots of pain and her body literally melting away. That's when she hides out and waits for her body to stabilize again.

When she completely twists, her body completely falls apart, becoming a puddle of ichor on the ground. If she was an encounterable twisted, she would work like Sprout's puddle root things, but easier to maneuver around and avoid. Also, her antenna glow.

Well this is a doozy, despite all the adrenaline you felt you couldn't get close enough to make it into the elevator. You were understandably freaking out and panicking.

Once you sorta calm down to actually think logically, you decide to hide. You don't know what to do, all you can do is just hide and hope no Twisted finds you.

Well, technically those hopes DID work, all of the Twisteds wandered the area like zombies, except one. Of course, you were gonna die eventually.

Although after some chasing and hiding, the Twisted kept following you, even almost slowing down when you ran out of stamina.

You were quite confused about why they didn't hurt you when you slipped and fell over.

Till you noticed who was chasing you, or well.. more accurately, following you. It was Astro, Twisted Astro.

You didn't know what he wanted, but it definitely wasn't something malicious. He looked lonely, sad even.

You stared at him, he stared at you. It was awkward for the two of you to say the least.

You suppose, if you're gonna find out how to communicate with him.. It would preferably be somewhere safe than a random hallway.

You lead him to the hiding spot he first found you in. Still feeling uneasy about a literal Twisted following you and the fact you haven't died yet is a miracle.

Astro looked at you curiously, wondering what you'll do next. You were just observing his body language. His arms and legs twitched quite often, most likely due to an absurd amount of Ichor he had to.. consume?

You tried communicating with him with words, while he could vaguely understand, it wasn't all too helpful.

You tried conveying your thoughts and MANY questions, on why he isn't attacking you like the others are, through body language but it seemed it confused him more. Man, being a Twisted sucks.

You tried all sorts of things, all of them ending up him confused or the both of you confused by what you were doing.

You just sighed and sat down, never-mind all of this.. How are you gonna return to the group? This is a mess.

Your eyes hovered over every small or big object you could see in your sight, not really making a single coherent thought.

You knew Astro was still there with you, probably staring but you didn't pay too much attention. You DID appreciate his presence, because Astro always gave off that calming aura of his.

But you didn't know how to feel about his corrupted.. or well, 'Twisted' version of him.

You could hear him shuffle a little closer to you as your thoughts spiraled into madness.

Then, his nightcap (that weirdly acted like it had a mind of its own.) wrapped around your torso.

Oh, well this brought you out of... whatever your brain was on.

You heard him mutter something or at least you saw him try to say something, due to all of the Ichor he consumes.

"It's fine, you don't need to speak." You eventually say, not wanting to make his throat hoarse. Seriously it must hurt drinking the Ichor.

Twisted Astro weakly nods, seemingly figuring out whether or not to lean on you or wait for you to lean on him.

You answer his thoughts by leaning on Astro. Your head on his shoulders.

"These circumstances aren't ideal, no far from it, but at least you're here." You say, almost feeling sleepy but your anxiety about the other Twisteds forced you to wake up.

Astro x Reader - Slumber Party

You and Astro were exact opposites in every way, with Astro being the calm yet timid introvert he was- and you the energetic flower. Always happy to have fun and help other toons, as Astro observed from afar about you.

You and Astro were exact opposites in every way, that it came as a surprise to him and every toon that you’d caught feelings for him- and made it very clear by confessing to him.

You and Astro had already been close friends before such feelings blossomed, however Astro always noticed when it was just the two of you alone- you suddenly were all calm and quiet. You were still your kind self, however such a shift made Astro wonder- even after your confession to him.

And your confession to him gave him more questions than answers.

It was just the two of you looking at the starry sky, when you whispered your love to Astro with the same happy grin.

You expected Astro to be asleep already by the time you whispered your love to him, but suddenly his eyes sprung open and a blue blush was cast over his cheeks.

It’d been a few weeks then when you two started dating, and now you were planning a slumber party for all the toons!

“Brightney, I’m really grateful you were so eager to help organize everything for the slumber party!” You energetically say as Brightney crossed off some checkmarks on her list, not knowing Astro was watching from afar as usual.

“Of course [Your Name]! I’m always happy to help you and Astro!” Brightney giggled.

“Everything’s ready for this awesome slumber party! See you tonight!”

As Brightney waved goodbye, you would notice Astro putting some lavender on the vases. You’d go over and help him out.

“Mhm..” Astro nods, smiling back at seeing your face. “They help with sleep and anxiety..”

“I remember the smell.. Did you put some of it on your blanket?” You ask, making Astro a bit shocked you’d notice such a small detail on such a quiet Toon like himself.

“Mhm.. I have..!” Astro nods, a blue blush dusting his cheeks.

Soon enough, the sun had set and it was time for the slumber party! Toons started flooding in, and you did most of the greeting as Astro watched.

“I HATE SLUMBER PARTIES!!” Shrimpo shouted as he stomped in.

“But you came by anyways! Hehehe!” You giggled as Shrimpo grimaced.

“You know [Your Name], this slumber party is so gorgeous! Really sparkling decorations!” Glisten praised until he froze up at the sight of a familiar fish bowl.

“Glisten’s right, [Your Name]! This really is Fin-Tastic!” Finn laughed as Glisten scowled, and you couldn’t help but laugh along as well.

Astro watched on with a smile on his face at all the toons you talked to during the slumber party. Although he didn’t participate in the activities himself, he felt a fuzzy feeling watching you and everyone else have fun.

But if you’re so happy all energetic and outgoing, why weren’t you that way around him? Was he making you unhappy all this time?

He always had these questions in him, but at this particular night they started to claw at him so tightly like the second pair of arms around his body.

When it was finally time for all the toons to go to sleep in their own sleeping bags or spots on the couch, you and Astro stayed awake.

Astro couldn’t believe the look of love in your eyes as you at him.

“[Your Name]..” Astro shakily sighed out, worry weighing his back. “You’re always so outgoing and excited with the other toons.. However with me, you’re so quiet.. Why is that?”

Sleeping in your arms felt like the softest cloud in the world for Astro, and his worries all flew away to the wind. Your love for him was the most comforting blanket, and that night every toon had a good dream.

yandere dandys world y/n idea? Maybe?

Hear me out on this idea. Like cause I like boxten a lot. I like the funny musical man. (Also toodles and pebble and coal are platonic yanderes only)

Plus this is just a idea for a y/n but I don't know if it'll ever be a official y/n I'll write for unless you guys like this idea.

Imagining boxten y/n. Who mostly is besties with poppy and over time he sees how strange the other toons are acting but thinks he's overreacting and just him overthinking. Plus him taking the baking classes with sprout and Cosmo takes up a lot of his time and it's almost 24 hours that y/n has been taking these classes and of course y/n wants to get better and make the perfect cake but sometimes when the classes aren't scheduled it's almost instantly that Cosmo or sprout need help with something that consumed a lot of time.

Y/n sometimes wants to go on solo runs again but almost Everytime a other toon sees him a elevator and immediately joins him or calls y/n over and cause he doesn't wanna be rude, y/n let's the toon go with him in the run or if called over for something just gets out the elevator to help but once in a while he is able to slip in a solo run for a bit but tries to be quick a run but when he comes up from a run thinking he got back in time. It's either poppy or vee standing in front of the elevator door when he comes back up and poppy is like "I could cover for you! You don't need to just wander off, you could get in big trouble." But the Vee is just sighs and is angry that y/n wander off again and now y/n has to hangout with Vee for a week so that Vee won't tell any toon that he snuck out.

I do imagine one time in a run. Y/n was getting back to the elevator a twisted tried to drag y/n back away from the elevator but goob was on the run and was able to grab y/n back and after goob would keep the twisted as far away from y/n as he could and scraps would check up on y/n from time to time on the run before getting back but I do imagine when y/n was first attached by a twisted, there was a lot of arguing among the toons for who was in charge of distracting the twisted because y/n could have gotten killed by only got away with some minor scraping on his arm.

During Christmas time I do imagine that likes to try and help bobette, rudie and ginger with puting up decorations and rudie just telling stories about Santa and y/n standing there like "...so a fat guy in a red suit breaks into people's houses and leaves presents but takes only sweets a milk? Won't he get sick?" And rudie is like "your right!...but Santa loves cookies what could we do to trade cookies and milk?" And end up asking Cosmo and sprout to make some kind of sweet that Santa could eat and just rudie and boxten y/n just yapping about Santa clause.

Bobette just going along with y/n's and rudie's "full proof" plan of seeing Santa clause and making a pillow fort next to the Christmas tree to make sure they'll be able to see Santa clause. They don't because they got tired and coal found them and end up sleeping next to the trio. Toodles joins and rudie tries to set up a camera next to the tree to catch a picture but ends up getting a picture of peddle or coal next the to tree.

I imagine astro always checking up on y/n to make sure his dreams are nice ones but sometimes sees y/n have nightmares and tries to stop them but only successfully a few times. Shrimpo is kinda a bodyguard to boxten y/n a lot of runs together. Like pacing left and right looking out for twisted's and making sure non of them get near y/n. Also during Valentine's day I imagine y/n finds a very nice flower but the stem is slightly crushed and y/n knows who is from.

-Who would have thought Shrimpo would ever have fans? Yet here you were, really admiring and looking up to him. Looking up at SHRIMPO of all toons in Gardenview! It really baffled everyone else (even Shrimpo if we are being honest here) but you really didn't care. Shrimpo just seemed.. way too cool compared to everyone else! And since you were a part of this massive cast of colorful characters, you could come visit him whenever you can! Even if he was never cheerful and always yelling, it didn't bother you too much, really, sometimes you even mimicked him!

-Oh how the other poor toons tried to help you.. you were a fan of Shrimpo, that is baffling by itself! Some were even concerned about your ears because Shrimpo just can't stop yelling about everything! Some toons were even convinced you didn't hear well or you just simply didn't care about it. It was actually funny how they would try to distract you every single day either by telling you to hang out with them or with various other activities but you just weren't interested! Some of the toons had even formed a group to try and brainstorm ideas, it slowly stopped when they kept seeing you how much you truly looked up to Shrimpo, they just slowly gave up, as nothing worked.

-No matter how much Shrimpo yelled, you weren't really bothered, even trying to mimic him as said before. He just comments on how he hates how low your voice is! And that's when you really put the effort to scream louder, even attempting to do his own voice. He just rests his fists on his hips as he glares at you trying again and again. It was a loud but kinda funny sight to see as he gave legit criticism, even if it was with a loud voice. He just rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms when you were proud of yourself for doing it right, as Shrimpo didn't correct you this time. He still does anything better than anyone though!! Don't get your hopes up!!

-And it doesn't even stop when you see him punching the wall or headbutting things. Of course, you never really tried hitting walls but you kept looking up at him in awe when he punched something rough and didn't even flinch. He just scoffed when he looked back at you but didn't talk, just a small glare. You really like seeing how hard he can throw a good punch at his punching bag! Watching at how hard he hits it, trying to calm down his anger from you following him pretty much everywhere now, not even being bothered by him. It annoyed him so much to think about just why? Why did you look up at him?! It made him furious, making him give a good one to the punching bag.

-Once, he even saw you try and punch one of the bags but your punches were weak and barely moved it. He crossed his arms as he watched you try again and again. He only huffed as he yelled at you to punch harder!! Your punches are pathetic!! He can do it much better!! He even gave you a good example to the other punching bag and you saw how he moved his shoulder to give a good strong punch. You just jumped as you got inspired and tried the same, making.. some progress, at least! Come on, no one expects a literal child to give punches as strong as Shrimpo now!! The guy has been doing this for who knows how long!!

-Honestly? Shrimpo does stop yelling.. too much around you or even straight up stopping insulting your skills and abilities. He just talks in literal caps all the time. He mostly stays with that annoyed expression on his face when you were around, he was annoyed but no matter how much he yelled, you just looked up at him with your innocent eyes, compared to his own that only held anger. He quickly gives up on attempting to make you go away, don't stick around him, it annoys him!! Don't walk behind him!! But you just giggled as you kept following him around, it made him growl but he stopped pretty much immediately, placing his hands on his head and glaring, feeling his head hurting.

-Despite all that, Shrimpo does have a kinda soft spot for you, he never really had any fans, everyone just avoided him or made fun of him in his face, especially some of the visitors. But you? He genuinely doesn't understand what makes you be his fan so much, he stays up at night to think about it all and it angers him, are you trying to mock him, perhaps?! If he thinks about it more, he will feel himself going absolutely insane, he doesn't want to think, he HATES thinking!! Why were you so unbothered by his yelling, huh? You know he is better than anyone in this place, right?! Though he can't lie, it does feel.. a bit nice having someone look up at how cool and amazing he is, at least someone realizes it!!

-There was this time where you got sleepy and slept on his bed. It had happened when he was showing you how to punch the best because he can't stand seeing your weak punches. When he turned around, he blinked as he stayed quiet, mouth in a thin line as he raised an eyebrow, his eyes glaring. He let out a big long sigh before sitting on the floor, resting his back against the wall and crossing his arms. If anyone was there and ever told him how quiet he was, he would yell at them annoyed. He absolutely hated that you slept in his bed though, how is it that you are SO comfortable in his room?! It drove him insane!! It was full of holes and a mess, any other room would be better than.. this!! He furrowed his eyebrows as he stared at you and then looked at the floor in front of him, he hated thinking.. just what made you see him so highly like this?!

-Shrimpo even holds his voice back when you gently tug on his shirt, asking him politely to show you how to punch better. His lips trembled as he does his best not to yell exactly in your face and he just huffs as he loudly goes to his room with his loud confident footsteps, with you following behind happily and excited to continue training your hands! If you ever injure yourself, he calls you an idiot as he goes to bring you ice or whatever else you need, just don't cry!! Don't you want to be strong like him?! Then stop tearing up!!! He hated hearing you crying!! He only sighed in angry relief when you seemed to be feeling better, don't scare him like that ever!!! He hates that!!!!!!

-As time goes in, it can even be said that Shrimpo, in a way, took care of you. He always let you sleep on his bed while he sleeps sitting up on the floor, always yelling and telling you to punch and yell louder and didn't even need to say anything when he walked because you just followed close behind, sometimes even allowing you to tug at his shirt. If you ever offer your hand to him to take, he just retreats his hand back with a small "tch" and tells you that he hates being touched!! The truth is that he fears his anger, strength and might possibly crush your poor little hand with his strong one. He yells at someone to shut it up if they ever make a comment about Shrimpo not being aggressive towards you like everyone else. Even though it takes forever, you do feel like Shrimpo has changed a lot with you around!

When you two met, you were a newbie. A lot of the toons surrounded you, wanting to see who you were.

Of course, you were shy. There’s 17 different toons looking at you. One of them is looking at you with a frown.

“I HATE BURGERS!!”

You jumped a little, because of his sudden abrupt voice.

"That's Shrimpo."

“He’s kinda mean.”

“Kinda is an understatement. Also it’s kind of, not kinda.”

“Potato potato Rodger.”

After Shrimpo’s hateful statement, you just stared. You two made eye contact, and he looked away first! So you won!

You smiled at him, and he looked away again.

A day after that, you thought—

‘Maybe Shrimpo could be my friend?’

You hung out with Shrimpo, a lot. He couldn’t understand why you weren’t going away.

Why don’t you hate him like everybody else?

As days passed, he tolerated your presence more and more. Like not yelling at you as much. Somehow managing to be less of a hater, and him continuously losing ‘staring contests’.

You could convince him to do arts and crafts. Convince him to hang with the other toons, convince him to not bang his head on the machines. Say, why does he do that?

“... I DON’T… Know..”

The other toons noticed obviously! Have you seen how calm Shrimpo was around them? Only when you’re around though. When you’re gone it seems like he’s more angry compared to before meeting you.

Dandy was walking around, looking for you and Shrimpo.

"Shrimpo!!"

He was walking around, with his hands on his hips.

‘Where did those gremlins go?’

He looked into a smaller room, seeing you.

It took some time to get him to smile, it happened when you gave him multiple kisses on his face

He was slightly functioning, then blinked away his non functioning self

Before he knew it, he was smiling

Surprisingly, for the rest of the day he was smiling more, not in front of the toons, but just in front of you

He was really clingy too, he hadn’t realized that those kisses were all he needed to be happy and smiling for a day

It’s hard for him to communicate his feelings, you really gotta reel it out of him

Well. Actually replacement since her last handler uh . . Let's just say something happened.

Besides that, your job was relatively normal ? Excluding the whole ichor thing and the people who hired you (WHO YOU HAVENT EVEN SEEN YET)

As a Toon Handler, you don't exactly have much to do except for take care of your toon, do your job correctly and . . That's about it. So you decided to explore the floors a little bit since you got ultra mega bored. You stumbled across a gift shop of some sort ? You never saw or heard of it before, but you expected it. After all, it's a education center. Something flooded with kids, of course they'll try and profit from it.

While you were looking around the floor, you saw Shelly looking at one of the shelves. you come up to her and see her looking sad.

" hey Shelly, are you . . Uh. Doing alright ? " You know it's a dumb question but what else could you ask ? You don't know how to comfort someone, let alone a toon ! Their technically the same thing but it's more awkward.

" no one bought my plushies Ó⁠╭⁠╮⁠Ò everyone else had atleast 15 or all of their stock finished except for me ! " Shelly said, looking down at the floor. You smiled awkwardly, looking around to check if her friend since she normally could help Shelly with this sort of thing . . Who was she- Tisha paytes ? No, wrong, That's a human . . . Tisha ? Yeah, Tisha. But you couldn't find her and you unfortunately do not know what to say in this situation so-

" . . If this helps you feel better, when I get my paycheck I promise I'll buy all of them ? " . . Y/n. Y/n L/n, you can't just PROMISE that out of nowhere ! What if you don't even have the money ? Merchandise is normally like. Ten hundred dollars. But then again, Overall. No one bought her plushies so maybe they aren't a victim of inflation ?

Tem back at it again with the strange biology rants

Okok. Warning though because i talk abt a bit of gore and grossness, also mentions of needle injections, and also death. If you dont wanna hear abt organs then you dont need to post this ask, idrm!!/gen

Toons, when being created, were based off of humans in terms of biology. Of course, their heads would be objects, but the neck down would be relatively the same. At least, until they dumbed it down for the appeal of the child audience

- their mouths are the same. Teeth, tongue, esophagus. They still produce spit. They don't lose teeth, however. They might get tonsil stones.

- They lack noses, yet still breathe? I like to think its "just the art style" but it makes no sense. Either give them noses, or let the ichor they're made out of breathe. Imagine breathing skin, thats weird! This would also mean they cant produce snot, which is weird.

- Their bodies are simple. They have fingers that seem to come and go as they please. Like are only there when its convenient. Pretty weird.

- They lack organs. They lack bones! Their bodies are just hardened (to a degree), purified ichor. When cut open, they bleed, of course, but you wont see any muscle, or bone, or veins. Its just ichor. Its freaky as hell

- Ichor is a corrosive substance, which is why raw ichor is so dangerous. Its also why twisteds are the way they are. Its a ichor overdosage.

- and since ichor is a corrosive substance, theres no need for the standard human waste track. As a way to make the toons as non-sexual as possible, they reworked their systems, practically removing anything past the stomach. The urinary and reproductive tracks were removed; everything ends at the stomach. The ichor will simply dissolve any humanly edible substance into energy to replicate and reproduce ichor cells. Anything deemed inedible (metal, plastic, basically anything humans cant eat), can only go one way out, by vomitting. They get belly aches if they can't vomit it up, and it needs to be forced out via triggering the gag reflex. The amount of times Sprout likely had to have a toon cough something up because they ate something bad is likely too many times to count.

- i will say they do have lungs. Works like human lungs. Can get infected. They technically dont need hearts, as they lack veins or blood to circulate oxygen through their system. If they did, theyd need it to keep ichor production abd ichor reproduction going.

- Toons were always capable of aging, but then why havent we seen anyone really grow *old*? Well, its in their food. The food at Gardenview, specifically the kind used for toon consumption, has ichor in it. A small amount, yes, but they eat so much to where they dont even notice it. Fresh ichor being out into their bodies means they can retain their young form. Its why Toodles will never physically age. With physical age, mental age qlso comes with it. She will stay around 8 forever due to this.

- BECAUSE of this, if a toon were to ween off of the food at Gardenview, and stick with strict human diet, at first, nothing would happen. Jts just that fresh new ichor isnt being put into their bodies (an alternative is shots, but i doubt theyd want that. Hell i doubt they even know that ichor is put into their food). But after a while, their ichor forms will begin to grow old, unable to keep a steady flux of new cells, and just begin reusing the old cells. Due to this, the toon will begin to age, similarly to a human. Skin will grow saggy, their object heads differing depending on what they are (as in Boxten's paint will begin to dull, Tisha's cardboard head will weaken, and her tissues thinning. Stuff like that.)

- and eventually... the cells cannot keep regenerating themselves. And their forms cannot retain. And eventually they will return to the raw ichor form, becoming a puddle on the floor. Rip losers

- they can sweat. Its weird. Do they smell? Maybe. Not every toon showers tho. Some will (shrimpo, finn, teagan, ect), and some use other cleaning methods (flutter, gigi, boxten, ect). Some literally cant (scraps, vee, poppy). Its not like they guys can smell bad...

- they have eye colors because i say so

- they dont have finger nails :( or finger prints. No traction on surfaces theyre gonna slip and fall :(

Caught? Caught.

“You and your stupid, dumb, idiot face.” Shrimpo grumbled as he pushed his hands against stupidly squishy cheeks, then pulled them back and squeezed his fingers as he pinched them, stretching the skin out in what he wanted to be a painful gesture. The freak they belonged to, however, didn’t react, face still pulled in that disgustingly happy smile. “Stop smiling like that, dummy.” 

Dandy did nothing of the sort, in fact smiling wider and he rested his head down on Shrimpo’s stomach. His two gigantic paws on either side of the toon on his back, effectively trapping him beneath the large twisted.

“Get off of me.” Shrimpo demanded, pulling Dandy’s (who, graciously, allowed his face to be toyed with) cheeks downwards to better look him in the eyes. Well, glare to be more precise. “I don’t want to be crushed under your weight.” He said seriously, even as he kneaded and pawed at the softness that was Dandy’s face.

Dandy made no attempt to move. He slowly blinked one eye, and then the other.

“GET OFF OF ME FATTY!” Shrimpo shouted, pushing Dandy away and -impressively- managed to lift Dandy’s face off of him for as far as his arms could stretch which… Honestly, it wasn't much. He paused as he registered a soft, low rumble that played beneath the tune that constantly accompanied Dandy, vibrations sent from Dandy’s face all the way down Shrimpo’s arms. Shrimpo slowly, ever so slowly, lowered his arms back down as Dandy’s eyes slipped shut.

“You’re lucky you’re so goddamn cute.” Shrimpo grumbled beneath his breath. He resigned himself to his fate, simply letting it be that as of now he was -apparently- a cushion for a twisted that could kill him in one hit if he wanted to. He couldn’t help but smirk. He really was better than everyone else, who else could say that the most dangerous twisted wasn’t going to try and kill them?

“What a bunch of losers!” He barked out a laugh, fully mocking and making no attempt to hide it. Dandy nuzzled his chin further into Shrimpo’s stomach and Shrimpo… Paused. Slowly moving his hands back to Dandy’s face before he started to squish and knead, his reward being deeper purrs.

He really was lucky he was cute, and soft. Or else Shrimpo would have punched his lights out by now (not that it would have done anything, stupid flower was annoyingly durable. But it was the thought that counts).

Seconds ticked by slowly, turning into minutes that droned on and on as Shrimpo lost himself to the mindless task of petting Dandy’s face. He was… Less annoyed than he thought he would have been regarding just how slow the other toons were moving. Of course they were useless without him! 

“Come here!” He heard Goob’s voice before he saw him, and felt hands latch onto his shoulders. He barely had a second to protest before he felt himself being pulled right from under the twisted and flying through the air before his back hit Goob’s chest, arms wrapped around the shrimp.

“WHAT THE HELL.” Shrimpo started, a heavy, angry frown settling down on his lips as he pulled a hand out of the unprompted and frankly unnecessary hug from this goddamn idiot of a toon and pushed it harshly against his chin. “DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!”

“Giving you a hug, silly!” Goob said, with only a minor grunt from the shove against his head, still with that stupid smile on his face (that looked nowhere near as tolerating as Dandy’s, so Shrimpo didn’t even try to tolerate it!) “Plus, you looked stuck!”

“I DON’T WANT A HUG AND I DIDN’T NEED YOUR HELP! I HATE HUGS!” Shrimpo kicked his legs back and forth as he struggled within Goob’s rather constricting (he hated how tightly he was held, how he had to struggle so hard to even move, how useless he felt knowing that he couldn’t even-) grip. “LET GO OF ME ALREADY!” 

Dandy got up.

“Okay! Okay!” Goob pouted, letting Shrimpo rest his feet against the floor as he unwrapped his arms from the toon’s torso. “Sorry.” He said, letting his hands flop back down onto the floor.

Dandy slowly lowered his front down towards the ground, raising his lower half into the air as he shifted his hooves.

“YOU BETTER BE! DON’T DO IT AGAIN!” Shrimpo shouted, harsh and cruel as he always was as he glared at the toon, dusting off his shirt and trying to brush that goddamn touch (that weakness- ) from his clothing. He let out an angry huff, turning his head away from Goob-

Dandy lunged, powerful legs launching him through the air faster than he would have been able to walk the distance as he brought a paw up, eyes trained solely on one, specific, toon.

-just in time to watch Dandy fly through the air like a goddamn dart. “HOLY SHIT-” The curse slipped out most from surprise, because he’s never seen a twisted jump before. He turned on his heels, flinging his hands out into Goob’s chest and knocking him to the floor as he quickly crouched.

Dandy sailed overhead, drops of Ichor falling from his hooves as he did so, before he landed with a loud thud. His neck craned back to turn his head, followed by his body, and the look on his face told he was out for bloody murder as he quickly took multiple steps forwards.

“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” He pointed down at Goob, just to make sure he got the point across because if that idiot didn’t try to help him then he wouldn’t have nearly been reduced to a puddle of Ichor. He stepped over the dummy of a toon, standing stock still with his hands on his hips and narrowed eyes as Dandy slowly approached.

“Um, Shrimpo.” Behind him, Goob got up. A hand coming down to rest and tug gently on Shrimpo’s arm. “Maybe we should, y’know, go?”

“SHUT UP!” Shrimpo snapped harshly, turning his head to glare at Goob until he backed off with a mumbled apology before turning back to Dandy. The twisted, for his part, crawled to a stop before him, tilting his head downwards a bit to stare at the shrimp.

Shrimpo -fearlessly because he had no fear (very pointedly ignored the bead of sweat that ran down his face)- stared Dandy straight in his eyes. Standing perfectly still aside from the rise and fall of his chest, all it would take was one strike from Dandy, and he would be gone, dead, splattered into a puddle of Ichor and pop back into his room to be revived.

If Dandy did kill him, Shrimpo would sock him in the face the next time he saw him with the same strength he used to break his wall. Just because he deserved, and could take it.

The seconds ticked on slowly, the silence going uninterrupted as they stared each other down. Before Dandy’s eyelids lowered, half closed as his stance loosened, going from a stalking, powerful predator to a less stalking, more docile one as he lowered himself onto his stomach. Both paws on either side of Shrimpo once more as the shrimp released a breath he didn’t even realize he was holding before he flopped down onto his butt and held out his hands.

“Come here you idiot.” He said quietly, as Dandy wasted no time in pushing his face back onto Shrimpo’s hands. A low, satisfied rumble once more starting back up in his chest as his eyes slipped shut. “Gods you’re so needy.” He grumbled to himself, feeling himself deflate just the smallest, ever so slightest, bit.

“I didn’t know you knew how to not shout.” Goob’s voice broke him out of his short trance, instantly causing him to hike his shoulders and tense. “Yea? Well now you know.” He spat out, forcing himself to relax again, harder now that he remembered someone else was watching.

From the corner of his eye, he saw Goob walk beside him, turned his back to Dandy’s paw, and sat down. He turned his head, staring at the toon with an incomprehensible look. He knew Goob was stupid, but not this stupid.

“What the hell are you doing?” He asked blankly, finding himself at a loss for not a single spark of anger or even irritation was lit. His mind was too busy trying to come up with a plausible, workable answer for what Goob was doing.

“Sitting down!” Goob answered happily, tapping his hands against his knees in a rhythm that Shrimpo could see but didn’t know . “Like you!”

“Wha- I- You-” Shrimpo clicked his mouth shut, at a loss for words for a moment before he frowned, heavily, as anger once more boiled under his skin. “HE JUST TRIED TO KILL YOU DUMMY! WHY THE HELL ARE- DO YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME?!” He shouted, hoping that Goob would get the hint to just leave already so Shrimpo could keep doing… This. Uninterrupted.

“Yea but he isn’t now!” Goob answered with logic that was so completely, utterly, mind-bogglingly stupid that Shrimpo didn’t even know what to do anymore. “Also, you do care!” He said happily, his usually dumb smile turning disgustingly even more sappy.

“WHA- I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU!”

“But you said-”

“SHUT UP! STOP IT! STOP TALKING! YOU’RE DONE TALKING!”

Shrimpo swiftly turned his head back to Dandy, slamming it forwards into the flower’s face as he pointedly ignored Goob. Dandy cracked open an eye, looking down at Shrimpo before he puckered his lips and kissed him on the forehead (because his face was right there c’mon now).

“Aww-”

“SHUT UP GOOB! I SAID YOU WERE DONE TALKING!” Shrimpo blushed, tearing his head back as he felt his cheeks heat up. He glared at Dandy, the goddamn betrayer, for doing something like that in front of Goob of all (or any toon really) toons.

“Okay!” Goob said, giggling to himself as he swayed side to side from where he sat.

Shrimpo made it very clear he was ignoring the toon for the rest of the floor.

“Vee,” Rodger turned his head to the TV, hands crossed over his chest. “Do you have any idea where Goob and Shrimpo are?” He asked, seeing as Vee had access to the cameras on the floor, he believed it was a valid question to ask.

“No.” Vee shook her head, twirling her mic around before pointing at Sprout. “Ask Berry-boy over there, he can see everyone’s hearts.”

“Don’t call me-” Sprout sighed, pinching between his eyes as he murmured something beneath his breath, then shook his head. “They’re coming, but you know how slow Shrimpo is, dunno why Goob is taking so long, though.”

The toons all, collectively, paused as they heard loud, thumping footsteps long before they saw him. Dandy’s twisted -and wasn’t that a funny thought?- turned the corner, a distorted lullaby accompanying him with his every step and-

“Is that-?” Vee mumbled, shock cracking through her usually stoic demeanor.

-Shrimpo hung from his mouth. The twisted slightly swaying happily with every step as he approached the elevator.

“Hiya guys!” Goob waved at them as he walked alongside Dandy, matching his sway with even similar smiles. “We made a new friend!” He said, as if you could just befriend a twisted. Goob stepped into the elevator as Dandy stopped, stretching out his hands to grab onto Shrimpo’s sides as Dandy gently let go of him. “Thanks Dandy!” Goob said and Dandy stared down at him for a moment before turning away just as the elevator closed.

Silence reigned between the gathered toons for a moment as Shrimpo pushed Goob’s hands off of him. The shrimp walking over to stand by himself with a slightly red dust to his cheeks.

Rodger cleared his throat.

“Shrimpo, do you mind if-”

“NO! SHUT UP! I HATE QUESTIONS!”

“Right, yes. Goob-?”

“I SAID SHUT UP!”

“Hehe~ Sorry, I promised not to say anything!”

Sorry if this has been asked and/or explained before but do you have a reason for who’s paired with who in Tower of Souls? Some make sense like Sprout and Cosmo since they’re talked about hanging out together in game, but then there’s ones like Shrimpo and Pebble that I don’t get as much, and wondered what your thought process for picking duos was

I had no real basis for how i picked them. some were based off of canon of course, but i mostly just picked pairs i thought would be interesting :P if you dont mind my yap i can explain everyone...

Dandy & Astro - pretty obvious why, theyre very very close friends in canon :] and on top of that i feel my headcanons make them a very interesting and conflicting pair

Sprout & Cosmo - do i need to say anything about these two LOL

Vee & Connie - connie was actually going to be paired with finn at first! Fun fact!!! since i thought they were both pretty silly and might be fun together. but a friend suggested vee and i thought that they could be more interesting

Pebble & Shrimpo - these two were. Mostly just chosen out of practicality. i chose them because theyre both pretty unserious characters and also since pairing shrimpo with anyone else would make it difficult for him to have a close relationship with his partner considering his Personality. pebble doesnt care about his yelling and his insults and shrimpo loves his buppy he is the one thing in this world shrimpo doesnt hate (though its still hard for shrimpo since he doesnt have a partner who can Communicate and so he still lacks the support the others have)

Shelly & Jone - Partially, i paired shelly with an oc because there were 24 characters at the time, though i hadn't counted razzle and dazzle as two until i designed them, so the numbers turned out odd and i made jone to compensate,,, but shelly wasnt just given the First come first serve treatment, i hadnt figured out all of the pairs when i stuck her with jone, i was just considering giving her a story where she was forgotten intentionally to cover up some incident. I didnt want to use a canon toon and kill them off or stick them in the basement like i ended up doing with jone, so i made an oc instead :]

Rodger & Toodles - also an obvious one, father n daughter. and my faves <3

Glisten & Looey - FUN FACT!!! ive mentioned this before but i was GOING to pair glisten with paris from the gen2 au. paris was going to be in tower of souls and be glistens brother instead of his replacement. but this was at the very beginning of when i was making the au,, i didnt want to add ocs in and i also really liked the idea of glisten and looey together because i feel like their insecurities are similar and they could bond over it (and then qwel added dialogue where glisten tells looey he hates clowns SIGHS. cruelty to me i promise theyre best friends.)

Teagan & Gigi - Chose these two just because gigi is a hoarder/gambler and teagan is implied to be secretly greedy in her twisted dialogue,, i thought itd be funny if they did some money-related stuff in tos lol. They dont talk about money in their class because arthur didnt want to make it about money but It Is Implied

Brightney & Tisha - I think their dialogue with each other is very neat and i wanted them to work together :] (ccough and i wont lie i think its obvious because i talk about how much i like lightbox i wanted to pair them together because i like the ship BUT ITS NOT. CANON IN TOWER OF SOULS WHATSOEVER. you can interpret them that way but their relationship is left intentionally vague 🙏 i just like their dynamic)

Poppy & Boxten - Another obvious one :] starter duo

Razzle & Dazzle - bro who else would they be paired with. I did consider making them one toon so that theyd both be paired with someone else but i decided id rather make them a pair

Goob & Scraps - also obvious. Sibling!!!

Finn & Flutter - Thought it would be neat to pair them together since theyre both nature-related :] and i think they could be silly together

Bobette, Ginger, Rudie, & Coal - i think its clear why these fellas were all put together to begin with i mean theyre all just the holiday toons but as to why theyre a quartet instead of a pair? I had already decided on putting all of the holiday toons in a group even before the update came out and coal was revealed, for a few reasons. for one i feel like it would be strange to have a holiday toons paired with a canon character since in regular dandys world like youre putting Bob who works at macdonalds together with Santa clause /j. i wanted to keep them all together and i also thought it would be cute if they worked at the gift shop since!! christmas!!!! If i had known we were getting 4, i provavly wouldve made two pairs, but i was under the impression we were getting 3 and so i had already decided on them being a group VDKBDKD

and yatta... doesnt have a partner yet ! Shrug

There's no doubt that he hates you more than everyone else. Hah, you? He can't fathom how there's a person that has the same personality as him. Aggressive and also rude, that should have been his title and not for a weakling like you. Therefore, you are merely a copycat in his eyes, so he doesn't show any interest in you and would rather insult you. Though, Shrimpo doesn't understand why he slowly tolerates you than everyone else. Facing a mirror doesn't even help! Asking that thing and never receiving an answer? Such blatant lies as he watches broken glasses littering around, frustrated about his own feelings.

"WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THEM!? THEY'RE SUCH AN ANNOYING ONE FOR STAYING INSIDE MY MIND!!!"

Would not make a move. But if it's been bothering him, Shrimpo would go and address it out to someone randomly, though I doubt that he would go and do it. He'd rather dig a hole than tell someone about it.(Don't ask why I added that) This shrimp would freak others out when he aggressively bit the paper out like a madman, shaking his head from side to side. Of course, there's more, like banging his head against the wall or other activities. Getting into a relationship with him is rather odd, yet with a bit of uniqueness in it. Despite the rude remarks, Shrimpo does put a tad of effort in pleasing you but not much. Get so severe annoyed when he made you sad with his words, even scratching his shirmpy head on how to lighten up your mood. Do not ask about his gestures unless you want a shrimp looking at you with offense. Just appreciate it, there's no need to get your silly head all worked up for nothing! You guys would have daily yelling (idk why I think of that) You found it so fucking annoying about him liking your gifts or not, and why would he gives you look as if offended. Shrimpo tends to give you mixed messages about what he wants, yet he just takes your gifts rather aggressively and then disappears. (Which makes you wanna chomp on his leg). May the gifts still be in good shape. Does not let you have any peace. If you're doing something, he would butt his ass in to take charge of it...simply because your actions irk him so badly. And well, you're weak in his eyes...Not like the result is good anyway, along with your hope being crushed instantly when he's here.

Before Glisten was officially in the game, he was the ONE toon I thought Shrimpo would genuinely like as a caregiver. Considering Glisten looked like he could be fairly rude and sassy when he wanted to be, I imagined them as a pair of mean girls.

It ended up really long so the headcanons (and a little doodle page) are below the cut!

Glisten ⊙°

More than any other toon, Shrimpo actually looks up to Glisten quite a bit. Shrimpo really likes him as a caregiver too, but sometimes he can't help but think he's wasting Glisten's time.

- Glisten is rather firm with rules when Shrimpo is little because he knows the consistency and expectations of them keep Shrimpo calm and in-check. Shrimpo respects Glisten and knows better than to try and pull anything with him. He also really likes how theatrical Glisten can get when they play pretend together, it makes things a lot more fun. Overall, Glisten is surprisingly good with kids, even with ones that have a temperament like Shrimpo.

- Shrimpo has a really difficult time reaching out, even when he knows he needs help. He almost see Glisten as 'above him' so he feels like he's wasting the other toon's time when he wants or needs to be babysat. Glisten also isn't the best at helping when Shrimpo is crying or sad, which doesn't help either.

- Glisten is best at taking care of him while he's around toddler headspace, but Shrimpo is comfortable enough to stick around when he's regressed to early teen years as well (usually when he's older he prefers to be alone, Glisten is the biggest exception to this).

- Around toddler age, Glisten like to play with Shrimpo by doing things like read alouds, coloring activities, finger paint (with heavy supervision), and playing pretend with action figures and toys. When Shrimpo's older, they play video games but Glisten always lets Shrimpo win if he can. And also when he's older Glisten tends to not hover as often because he knows Shrimpo would want more space and less doting. He generally trusts Shrimpo to not do something stupid when he's around 13+

- Glisten has the hardest time getting a toddler Shrimpo to bed, he is a very firm fighter when it comes to sleep. The one thing that gets him out like a light is hot chocolate, Glisten discovered. But of course, Glisten doesn't want to give in and let him have all that sugar every night, so instead he lays with Shrimpo and quietly reads (even if he reads through the whole book, he'll just start over) until he is sure Shrimpo is asleep.

- If Shrimpo is feeling fussy and says something mean to Glisten, without fail, Glisten will feign feeling offended/hurt and a majority of the time Shrimpo will end up scrambling to apologize and make him feel better moments after because he didn't mean it.

Goob ☆°

I do get the appeal of Goob and Shrimpo being a pair because Shrimpo could have a soft spot just for Goob, however I don't really think Goob is someone Shrimpo prefers as a caregiver unless he is in babyspace.

- In his normal toddler headspace Shrimpo absolutely loathes being coddled and babied, but Goob's love language is cuddles and doting on little ones. This leads to Shrimpo being very combative while Goob tends to be more sensitive for lack of a better word, and doesn't really know how to handle an angry little. Another problem is, Shrimpo knows Goob is too kind to properly enforce punishment, so he will often act out and do things against the rules on purpose with him, because he knows Goob won't make him face any consequences that matter to him.

- When in babyspace, Shrimpo tends to be more quiet and calm and is much more receptive to Goob's cuddles and caring style. He's probably too ashamed to admit it, but Goob is always his favorite when he's feeling particularly small. Goob just knows how to make him feel better after a meltdown.

- Both Shrimpo and Goob prefer to be little playmates rather than little/cg. This is pretty much the best middle ground for both of them. Shrimpo doesn't feel like he's being babied and feels less need to act out and rebel, and Goob doesn't have to feel as responsible or stressed out.

- Shrimpo doesn't like keeping many toys of his own, so Goob often brings some of his own toys along to play with in Shrimpo's room, like a dollhouse with a bunch of different toys, or fidget toys, or puzzles when he's an older toddler age. Goob likes playing with Shrimpo a lot, but he also usually gets too into it and regresses by accident.

- Goob actually prefers to be a big brother to Shrimpo since usually Goob is the little sibling. When Shrimpo's in babyspace he treasures the moments he gets with the bubbly little shrimp cradled in his arms. Goob gets why Scraps is so protective over him when he sees Shrimpo so small and vulnerable like that.

Teagan ♤°

A somewhat unexpected but very comforting caregiver to Shrimpo. She is a naturally motherly toon, but she also is particularly good with Shrimpo because she knows how to work with him through tough emotions or tantrums. She is very calm and patient despite how combative Shrimpo can be sometimes.

- Sometimes just the tone in Teagan's voice gets Shrimpo feeling small. She'll gently scold him for doing something he knows he shouldn't be doing, and he just melts.

- Shrimpo really appreciates how patient Teagan can be, even when he's being difficult on purpose. With her, he almost feels bad for misbehaving because of how she motivates him with praises (that he absolutely isn't used to hearing).

- Teagan really does care about Shrimpo and hates to see him beat himself up or try to deal with his issues alone. Her favorite moments with him are when he's small and sleepy, which makes him very cuddly and affectionate.

- Teagan found out that tea helps Shrimpo fall asleep without a fight (given to him in a sippy cup of course, wouldn't want any spills).

- Teagan takes care of a few other littles, so unfortunately she's not available as often as Shrimpo's other caregivers. Shrimpo isn't really comfortable with being taken care of with other littles around either (except Goob).

- Similarly to Goob, Teagan is very good at helping Shrimpo calm down during a tantrum/meltdown. She never raises her voice even when she's frustrated, and she tries to get Shrimpo to talk about his issues with an indoor voice. She always tries to give him options to try and help him with whatever's bothering him.

- Shrimpo really likes to hear Teagan sing for bedtime. Teagan doesn't really think she's that good at it, but she knows Shrimpo loves it so she does it for him.

- Teagan is the only caregiver that Shrimpo uses a parental nickname with, he likes to call her mama when he's small enough. Teagan thinks it's really sweet but doesn't comment on it to save him the embarrassment.

Originally there was a section with Dandy instead of Teagan, but most of the headcanons were rather negative so I scrapped it. Instead, here are some little blurbs left over.

- Dandy is better at being a babysitter than anything else (to Shrimpo at least).

- Shrimpo likes to hang out with Dandy when he's in a teen headspace because he likes to rant and Dandy is good at listening without adding any unsolicited advice.

- Dandy has noticed subtle tells Shrimpo has when he is feeling small but not quite regressed, and he often teases Shrimpo when he notices him doing them to get him regressed.

oooouuuugh i wanna write a sick fic now... someone requested one but didnt give a character and its got me in a mood.... grrgrr i wanna write but i got so much other stuff i need to write first!!!! notes: gn toon reader, pre game, short and sweet, based off of my experiences and i am not universal, written on mobile cws: bullying, its shrimpo so.... yeah!

He really does his very best to try to figure out how you work. As mentioned in the sprout x autistic reader post, they meet ND visitors all the time (whether they are open or not) so you're nothing new- I mean, you are, but he's got a basic idea of what to look out for and ask about

He tries to pick up on what you need more than he tries to ask outright, he doesn't want to put you on the spot nor does he want to come off as too intense- he actually does care a lot about what you think of him

He's good at picking up subtle cues even if he sometimes misinterprets them; that said he does have a tendency to notice when you're stressing out and need to vacate the area to regather yourself a bit. Or to simply call it a day- you call the shots, he's just going to make sure your needs are met as best as possible... if it's during visiting hours it may be hard for him to slip away for long- popular toon and all...

He doest shut down Shrimpo- or anyone- in an intimidating manner. But the way he does it is almost over the top, very cartoonish "hey! Don't be a bully!" Approach. Puts them on the spot and... Shrimpo of course hates everything, including being the center of attention

And he carries the same energy with anyone else who lingers around the scene or comments on it. Probably... not the best if you don't want attention drawn to yourself, though... means more eyes on you and people will talk

His room can kind of be a sensory nightmare- so many colors everywhere, it smells strongly of.. flowers and other stuff you can't pin point.. the flower smell actually isn't so bad it's the fact it's intermingled with so many other things... the ambiance is also a bit.. it's not chaotic but there's music, settling, and general background noise.. it can be a bit much sometimes

Hanging out in your room may be better...
