It only just occurred to me after it was pointed out on Twitter that the new 4 emperors' colours are Blue, Red, Black, and White.

In the Elements theory, this represents the 4 cardinal directions.

Blue is Wood, of the East. Red is Fire, of the South. Black is Water, the North. White is Metal, the West. Does this mean anything? Maybe, maybe not.

Maybe it's just because the 4 seas of this world are simply named North-South-East-West.

It's just a bit "hmm", since the Gorousei also happened to be named after planets whose names are relevant to the Elements as well. ".

It would be funny if this foreshadows each Emperor taking down a relevant Gorousei with the matching element, but then we're missing the fifth element/colour, the Yellow of Earth, which is associated with the "center" (and it so happens that Saturn already manifested as an enemy).

Nah, probably not. I can't see Buggy or Blackbeard doing that honestly.

Though, it's also interesting Red and White are the colour of divine blessings in Japan, and the two emperors of that colour are the "good" ones. Despite One Piece being a fantasy world with many inspirations from all over the world, still, there's still many traditional Japanese inspirations utilised in the story so I wonder sometimes.
