Ok lemme talk about this season of Arcane, the ending, and most importantly, Sevika. If you don't want spoilers, back away now but I'm leaving this open because people have a tendency to not open or read my posts with read more cuts after them 🙃

First off, I will say that I like Arcane a lot. Like a LOT. I've watched the first season 4 times (rarely do I watch anything more than once) and I think it's a masterclass in adult animation. Fortiche really put everything into this series.

That being said...

While I did like season 2, I don't think it was enough. Animation wise it was phenomenal, writing wise...I think it could have been better. As I've learned through doing research for my Sevika fics, the League of Legends universe, lore, and worldbuilding is fucking MASSIVE and even if I don't give two shits about that community or game, I have to give it props in that department because they really put a ton of work into it to make it feel alive. Maps? Short stories? Timelines? Race and culture? Apex could never...

That ofc is why it's hard for me to say that the writing is amazing. We had far too many characters to keep track of in season 2 with far too many plot threads to finish in two seasons. I think ideally, this series should have been 3 seasons instead of 2. Acts 1 and 2 could have been its own season, and Act 3 could have been its own season. If not that, then at least one more episode per act would have helped a lot. Things just progressed and wrapped up far too quickly for my liking.

Also not a huge fan of how quickly video game related media tends to dip into the whole timeline and multidimensional business. It def works well for some games but here? Idk I guess it was bound to happen given some League character's abilities, but the stakes just elevated far too quickly for me. Not a fan of Viktor becoming one of the main antagonists at all, and DEFINITELY not a fan of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun being sidelined for an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing with the war against the Noxians. It makes sense, I just wish "war with the Noxians" came at a later date so we could focus on the twin cities.

And speaking of the generational conflict between Piltover and Zaun, let's talk about Sevika.

As I said before, Sevika is the most qualified person to become the leader of Zaun and I stand by that even after the ending. But first....what about her found family? Isha sacrificed herself and Sevika gets no on-screen reaction? The last two episodes just progressed SOOOO FAST that we and some of the characters didn't even have time to breathe. Did Sevika even get time to mourn for Isha? What about Jinx, who is now gone? Sevika barely even encountered Vander! I would have loved to see some of the aftermath there because I think season 1 did a better job of allowing characters time to process their emotions and grief, even if the pacing was still kinda fast. It was acceptable!

I am sad af she didn't get more lines, but remember, Sevika has always been a side character in this series. An important side character but a side character no less. The promo shot of her now feels like...what was the point? (more on that in a sec) but considering how many characters and plot points and plot threads they had to account for, I am not surprised she didn't get more screen time. Hell, Vi and Caitlyn didn't even get a chance to have a full conversation on eveything that happened and Caitlyn didn't even apologize on screen. The fuck bro.

Now about Sevika's ending....I am very happy she isn't dead. Like dawg, you have no fucking idea how happy I am about it. SHE FUCKING LIVED. But....

I am seeing some people saying they're not happy or they're confused or that her ending doesn't make sense. And I just disagree with those points. Let me explain why.

I posted something earlier today about it, but again, as people don't open my read mores, I'll repost it here:

We absolutely do not know how much time passed between the war and the final few shots of the season. So Sevika joins the council. I DO NOT THINK she would do this unless there's a good reason for it, and that's why I'm guessing she will be Zaun's ambassador on the council. That war probably significantly changed the relationship between Piltover and Zaun and while old wounds will take more than a fucking war to heal, her being on the council now means she directly has a say in Zaun's future. Remember, the council was literally about to hand Zaun their independence before Jinx blew it up, and Mel was in support of it. As I said before, Sevika is respected down there at a bare minimum with all the factions. She would know better than anyone how to lead Zaun at this point. So yeah I get the hesitation, but it makes sense in my eyes. And it makes it likely that Sevika could show up again in a future League animation, if not become a whole champion.

I like her ending. I am sorry but it just makes fucking sense. Sevika is extremely loyal to her home and her people of Zaun. We've seen that time and time again. She was willing to go to war and die for those people not just against Piltover but also the Noxians, so why on fucking earth would anyone believe she's making a bad choice here?

She is now in the best possible position anyone in Zaun could be to advocate for their independence and support their growth. She knows the chem barons and brought them to peace, she gained the respect of the Firelights with Scar leading them in Ekko's absence, and she even got the Jinxers together with them before the Noxian attack on Zaun. Sevika has experience, she has the ear of the people, she knows what it's like down there, she is made to lead and help advocate for them!!!!

Believe me I get that whole "changing things from the inside" angle doesn't work more often than not, but this doesn't feel like "changing from the inside," it feels like "let me advocate for my people's actual independence so we have a starting point to become self sufficient." Again, Piltover was literally about to let Zaun gain their independence, and while none of the previous council members that agreed to it are there, Mel is/was. Who's to say she didn't help negotiate for Sevika to sit on the council and start (or complete!) the Zaun independence process before she left for Noxus? I can't imagine Sevika would just show up to the table and sit there if she didn't have a damn good reason. Like come on now. This woman has seen first-hand what Piltover is capable of and does not like them nor looks like she wants to be there. But she's seen what Piltover has done to her people first-hand, and after learning from both Vander and Silco, this is how she feels she can best protect her people.

She IS the new leader of Zaun and their ambassador at the council.

And lastly, we've been told that some characters will be returning in future League animations. Mel seems like an absolute given, but what about Sevika? Zaun's story is only just beginning, and yeah they said they'd like to branch out to other regions, that doesn't mean a cameo or maybe another medium can't be used to continue that story (a book, perhaps??).

Anyway yeah those are my thoughts...

nah cuz i agree with you SO much on the post you made about Megumi and how people think his character sucks. Like sure you can go hate a character but its for THE worst reasons. All they say is how bland he is and how he just doesn’t care. 

People complain how he’s just a object used in the story. Like no this kid isn’t your typical Sasuke i wanna get revenge on my family, he has probably one of the best written characters in the show. He has feelings obviously and was dedicated to Tsumiki and wanted to make sure she was happy. And i HATE when people say “oh Sukuna had no deeper meaning to make Megumi his vessel” like no?? He obviously didn’t choose Yuji as his vessel and hated him and how he was. A big reason for that is how inexperienced Yuji was at Jujutsu. He had no idea what cursed spirits WERE until earlier before he became the vessel, and only had his strength. (no hate on Yuji tho) So obviously Megumi was the perfect choice for Sukuna, he is extremely intelligent , focused, and Sukuna probably wanted to take advantage of his skilled shikigami use. Like when he first went against Kirara, he IMMEDIATELY figured out her cursed technique and was skilled with how he fought her. And him as a character? People whine about his underdeveloped relationship with Gojo, and Yuji. Megumi had so much trust in Yuji and after rewatching the anime, I saw how driven this guy is because he ended up not regretting how he selfishly saved him, and thinks he’s a genuinely good person. And Gojo?! How is THAT relationship bad? He looks out for Megumi SO MUCH and it wasn’t just because of that promise Toji made, but because he genuinely cares. Sure he feels entitled to him, but he want to watch him succeed and be happy too! But seriously, Megumi is way too misunderstood in the fandom bro.

You basically summarized everything I think about this god forsaken fandom. 😭 I find it funny how Megumi haters will call him a "bum" or question why he loses fights, when it's drilled in peoples' heads MULTIPLE TIMES. He has fucking inferiority complex, regrets of his sister, and got abandoned by his damn dad for Pete's sake. His whole drive at that moment from the beginning of the series basically stemmed from Tsumiki. His sister aka his only direct blood family left who got into a COMA before he can fully appreciate her. ☠️ Also, once again- the IRONY of JJK fandumb calling Megumi "bland" yet when he does have dynamics (Toji, Gojo, Yuji, Tsumik, etc) that also gets downplayed just because there isn't Idk 50 mf pages on them. This fandom's double standards and hypocrisy will never cease to amaze me ESPECIALLY concerning Megumi. 🤧

Main AU Jeff and Liu Oneshot

Date: 2014

While Jeff was excitedly waving the board game box he was holding and trying to show it to Liu, Liu had his head buried well into the book in his hand, although his focus had not shifted. No, he might have loved his brother, but he definitely wasn't going to play monopoly with him.

"C'mon, L!"

"My name is not L. It's Liu."

That was the last straw. He knew that one Because Jeff was watching an anime called "Death Note" on the influence of his friends and Jeff had tried to make him watch it too. Liu would rather watch artistic films or something with real depth.

"Whatever, bet you're afraid of losin'."

"If it makes you feel better, then sure thing."

Liu wanted to continue reading his book, while Jeff senselessly waved one hand in the air. It could be read in his eyes that he had an unnecessary desire to challenge.

"Your loss, we all know I'm better at math."

"You did not."

"Oh yes, I did."

"Oh so you want to play a game, huh? Let's play a game."

Liu suddenly looked up from his book, he closed the object he was holding in one hand hard. It was hardly possible to say that he enjoyed being challenged.

Having a brother like Jeff who loved a challenge was a big problem for him.

Jeff looked in amazement at his brother, who had risen from the coach and was walking towards him with rapid steps. His green eyes were ablaze with an emotion that was not easy to understand.

"You in?"

Liu sarcastically crossed his arms, the menacing smile on his lips was enough to scare anyone, anyone except Jeff.

"Oh, how in that you would be surprised."

"Okay, so we're gonna play Monopoly, I know you like dumb nerd games, and I can rule kingdoms."

Jeff definitely didn't know how to play Monopoly. It was an even bigger problem that he talked more nonsense as if it was possible to do more, but it was Jeff.

Actually, Jeff didn't know how to play any board games. Of course, he knew, but either he didn't remember, or he was hitting the sense spot until the person he was playing with became really pissed.

"That's not- you know what? Just use the calculator on your phone."

"Which one?"

Jeff's rather confident disclosure of his secret caused Liu to pause in surprise once again.

What kind of idiot would disclose the application in which he kept secret photos and things that should remain hidden?

"... The one with numbers, not secret things of yours. God, I can't believe that I had to use this sentence."

"Why the fuck I need a calculator?"

Jeff's eyebrows were furrowed with anger. If it wasn't for Liu, he would have already responded with insults or attacked the person in front of him.

He might have been stupid, but he wasn't that stupid.

"Can you sum up high numbers?"

Or he could.

"... Fuckin' fine."

As Liu passed towards the table in the living room, Jeff followed him with a defeated attitude. While he pulled the chair out fairly and sat down, the fact that Jeff almost fell created a thin smile on Liu's face. It wasn't such a big deal.

He just liked that even after years later, he knew his brother next to him felt as comfortable as possible.

However, their feelings were not very mutual, because Jeff was a bomb ready to explode at any moment.

"You know how to play this, right?"

After Jeff sat down in the chair with a grunt, he shouted at Liu's question.

" 'course I do!"

Liu took the box from Jeff's hand and gently slapped on his hand when Jeff tried to reach out.

That's how Jeff realized that Liu was going to want something from himself first. Waiting for what he wanted, he responded only with a grunt.

Stupid nerd.

"Explain how we start the game."

He raised the index finger of his right hand in the air as he spoke confidently. With his other hand, he also pressed on top of it for emphasis.

"First, ya' choose a pawn to make your slave."

"Eh, kinda true. Go on."

Jeff raised his second finger and stepped on it, too.

"Then you roll the dice to occupy areas."

Well, that was where the mistake started.

But Liu didn't need to be so distrustful. Maybe his brother could surprise him, today could have been that day.

So he calmly made the explanation.

"No, you don't occupy the areas, you just pass them as you move just as the dice says."

"Told the same."

Jeff, on the other hand, breathed with an exasperated attitude.

"It's not the- okay, carry on. What happens when you stop on a point?"

"Easy."

The fact that he paused after saying this, didn't even deign to say anything, made Liu think that he was just bluffing.

And he probably was.

"Then explain."

"Um, you buy them?"

Liu raised one eyebrow in the air.

"To?"

"To... to throw them to the enemy!"

Taking advantage of Liu's confused moment, he pulled out the box and took out several household figures, which he threw at Liu. Although there was nothing to hurt, it was annoying.

"No, Jeff, stop."

Jeff was waiting for his brother to laugh like himself. Or to have an amused reaction. Or to be serious.

Anything, but not him getting off the table.

"I don't know why I trusted you with this. Clearly, it was a mistake."

While he was sitting at the table himself, he was almost begging for Liu to continue to stay as well.

"I was joking, I know Monopoly rules. Just don't go!"

"One last chance."

Liu took a deep breath and sat down at the table again. He really didn't know how long he could tolerate his brother's childish behavior, and he wasn't willing to find out.

There was silence between them for a while. It could not be said that it was a peaceful silence, although it was not uncomfortable either. This silence was more like the silence that occurs before something important.

Just when Liu was about to speak because he was starting to get uncomfortable with it, Jeff spoke by looking at his hands. And the whole time he was talking, he never lifted his head from the table.

"I was actually going to say that we can play Scrabble. I know you don't like this game and you can get bored or something and you shouldn't blah blah, somethin' somethin'."

Liu felt bad for a moment after hearing this.

It was obvious that his brother wanted to spend time with him. He was also aware that he had been neglecting him a little bit too much lately, but it wasn't his fault. He was just too busy and didn't have enough energy to deal with anyone. He definitely couldn't tolerate a hyperactive person like Jeff after a tiring day.

However, these were not an excuse.

He should have been a better brother.

"Okay, we can play both."

After Jeff heard this, he suddenly raised his head, quickly waved his hands in a way that meant no.

"No, no, you don't have enough time and-"

"I can always spare some time for my brother."

Jeff was relieved to hear this. After releasing his shoulders, he smiled. This was not a fake or sarcastic smile as usual, it was a real smile.

"Yeah. Me too."

Jeff and Liu were two brothers who cared about each other.

And nothing or no one could come between them.

Jujutsu kaisan and the evolution sega from fallen London(which is amazing, btw-look it up) impacted me STRONGLY, so I have an obsession for anything with a mass of writhing hands that is going to get you, so this Pokémon appeals to me strongly

To be clear, it is cool, but it also looks like it watches anime-It's just that it has excellent taste in anime.

Can you tell I like ghost types yet? :D I have almost nothing say about this one besides that it's an excellent combination of witch and ghost elements into a stylish, mischievous package. Excellent Pokémon.

As you might have noticed, I like cool, "dark" Pokémon, but this one has the benefit of also just. Looking like a friend! It looks like, well, your buddy! It looks like you could ride it to your job and cuddle it to sleep while it cuddles you. Also, I love bats, so that helps. Plus, the megaphone ears are, in fact, a very cool idea-i like sound asked attacks almost as much as I like hand based creature design, and "what if a bat used it's echolocation as an attack" is a cool way to go about it.

As you might have noticed, i think witches are so, soon cool. I also think foxes are awesome-however, that really *shouldn't* make this my second favourite Pokémon. But you know what? I saw nosferatu !!!

God that was wild ride … Oh boy… 👏 was it a classic .

Me and my sibs were giggling so much like when Louis and his vamily first saw the black and white film in the 1900s. We literally couldn’t help it because the classic vampire can be kind of funny to us .

But we were also so enamoured by how amazing it was!?

It was so cursed and they did such a good job.

(((It didn’t help that what added to us being like yo the film is cursed bc my menstrual cycle unexpectedly started 20 minutes before we had to watch it . We had to run to the drug store to get something for me asap. )))

My older brother was also telling facts I think about the old black and white movie also having tales of being cursed which…ouh.

But yeah even if the classic vampire is teehee funny and weird , dude imagine if you had to deal with a creature like that you’d be horrified. It made me conflicted like do I like the shady but “it’s complicated “ death in disguise or the fact walking demonic corpse that makes itself clear it’s a red flag and intentions but you’re like why am I still here!??

Definitely love all vampires and think they all exist at the same time .

Especially with how disgusting and ugly he looks and that whole vibe of Nos’ to me feels like Magnus and his obsession with Lestat. Lestat’s morbid hysteria when finding him the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen suddenly after being turned . ( Then of course Magnus throws himself into the fire in front of him .) My mind kept thinking about that character in the books in relation to that.

Childhood TV shows? (cartoons, disney/nick sitcoms, etc.)

Long story short, I didn't have any friends in my childhood and usually I was bullied physically and mentally at elementary school so yeee- That is why I spend 50% of the time in my home looking non stop at the TV screen and watching whatever i found (rest of the time i was playing with my littlest pet shops and monster high dolls making cults, apocalypse, and cities. I LOVED making city for my pet shops and rule them all >:D)

So I will tell about the most important ones for me, because this post would never end if I start talking about EVERYTHING (and won't talk about movies, because it's about what children channels was showing.)

In my kindergarten era my favorite cartoons was mainly on one channel BBC for kids. It was my gold, everything i needed after long day in kindergarten where children were beating shit out of me. And lately I rewatched Numberjacks, Charlie and Lola (funfact my 20y/o dog is named after her older bro XDD), Big coock and Little cook, Teletubbies, The Koala Brothers, etc. (i watched everything what was showned at that time on BBC) This shithead from Numberjack still makes me scared.

He is a demon from my past.

But my parents because they doesn't gave a shit what i was watching my top 1 kindergarden cartoon was original Ben 10 and Lady Gaga music videos (And I'm not even fucking kidding, my family has videos that i could sit for an hours and just watch poker face over and over again.)

And i also rewatched it lately and found out that most of the talking roles are shared between Ratchet and Optimus polish VAs (Jarosław Boberek and Dariusz Odija)

Later we got more channels on our old TV so I started watching channels like Nick, Disney channel and Disney XD (we had cartoon network, etc. before so yeah). And for that time Hannah Montana was perfect for me i truly love it. I loved this show. The same with ICarly (fuck Dan Schneider, fuck paramount and nick that was hiding him and other p3does for years, they are acting like disney but worse) BUT there were also sitcoms for boys, and if you know me I LOVE MEDIA FOR TEEN BOYS. After Hannah Montana stopped showing up, I really felt in love in I’m in the Band, Zeke and Luther, Kickin’ It, ESPACIALLY Crash & Bernstein, because it was mupped show but cooler for me at the time XD

And after it my golden era begin, because we got even more channels and I could watch for first time show that will change my life forever, thanks to this show I'm with you guys rn and start to draw:

My first ever episode of lego ninjago was the episode where 1ep of 3 season, and it got me so hard XDD and at the time I cried me when I was 10 I cried like little baby when Zane died and was this show-don't-tell ending with Pixal. It was everything I needed... and it made me nerd also XDDD At the time i start to watching Teletoon+ like crazy!!! I watched MLP there and LPS too! And I'm so pissed of on myself, because TFP was shown there to but I didin't want to watched, because since i was youngling I hated Bayverse and was scared of their faces, so fuck you Micheal Bay, I almost missed the best TF show ever because of you :))

But also worth to talk about is The Amazing world of Gumball, oh boy I love it the same as Lego Ninjago and Nexo Knights!!! It was spiderman universum for me, when i was young, I watched since it premiered to the very end and even as a young teen I appreciated the animation and creativity that Gumball was showing us. Since today I think that animation and ideas are just pure genius and I can not even tell one thing bad about it like about Total Drama (1-3 season lives rent free in my head still, that is why I'm danganronpa fan) XDD

And now we are getting to second most necessary canon even in my life. The March 16th of 2015 first episode of polish Transformers robots in disguise was showed and it was fun for me! Fun enough that I recommended it to my friend that I created this au with, and she told me that it was cool too! And then years has passed and in 2022 she rewatched because she was bored and discovered Transformers Prime, she was so amazed of it that she begged me for MOUNTH to watch it! And guess how she convinced me to watch it??? XD she showed me that one ep that Starscream was running with KO, because zombie Silas was hunting them XDD (I'm spoiler proof, so I wasn't angry that she showed me ep from 3 season). AAAAnd that is how it started and that is why I'm with you rn and drawing transformers stuff for more than 2 years

And then I started using internet to the state, that I stopped watching TV at all so yeah... As a funfact my sister forced me to watch naruto and sailor moon in very young age, so I never watched fully and to the age of 13, because of her I HATED anime XDDD

I’ve really been sleeping on JJK, more importantly, Gojo Satoru.

First things first, Gege is an amazing writer, evil but still amazing. From what I have seen from the manga, Gojo being seen as a weapon started to make to drive into more of his character, how people see him and what he has actually gone through.

I always thought he was a neat character, of course. Through now actually driving into his character, not looking at him as a meme and at the surface level, his life is a fucking tragedy. Watching S2 and now rewatching JJK 0 hits so much harder, and now that I am more into the series. Not only now do I understand the depth of Gojo and Getos relationship but I have actually comes to terms Gojo kills Geto. For some reason I just didn’t want to believe it(plus dumb brain guy made me think he was Geto). Adding to this, to learn Gojo has melt downs because of this, I mean, shit he is already a broken character, from the moment we met him(for anime watchers) he has been broken, even though he comes off so care free, fun, funny fuck you name it. I just thought he was just a bit of a noob who had a huge ego. Fuck I was so wrong, though that was probably intentional of course.

Having to kill your best friend. I couldn’t even imagine doing it let alone doing it. Am I calling him an awful person? Definitely not, this is the messes up world they live in. I’m guessing it was influenced by the higher ups, making me agree with how Gojo treats them. At first again, I thought he was being being arrogant and looking down at them because, well his the strongest, The Gojo Satoru. But fuck, I was so wrong. Gojo was not in the wrong, they deserve this poor behaviour. They are the ones who would do ANYTHING, to prevent dangers to happen, with saying that sounds right, right? But is it worth it killing a 15 year old? Is a child life worth getting rid of for the sake of the world? Some would say yes, I mean it’s just one life to save billions. But Gojo goes against this, he wants the youth to live out their youth as he couldn’t. This brings up Gojos personality. If he is so hurt why doesn’t he show this? Well to stay looking like the strongest. Like bro, this character, I- damn bro might be one of my top favourite characters.

On a more lighter note. I love Gojo with the kids. Dare I say I view him in a some sort of father figure way now? Like the baseball scene? Letting them chill out after that stressful time the day before? Come on, so cute.

After watching the movie and going on social media seeing people say he said “I love you” to Geto I was like “Yeah okay, that’s pushing it” umm lets just say, don’t think that way anyone. And if they did have feelings for each other. Gojo killing Geto, I it’s insane. The burden- I should say burdens Gojo has to carry while acting like everything is okay, it’s depressing.

Gojo has to be the strongest, he has to be the one to save everyone, he is just that to some people, his not even a person to them but a weapon. He has to live with that, with being dehumanised and used, he has to live with the pressure of being the strongest, he has to save everyone. While heartbroken about the one person who understood, saw him for him, he had to kill him.

part 2 of this post i think?? tbh i found the clip in some random youtube video i have no idea if this takes place directly after or not and im just judging based on the time of day/setting

38 > in your opinion what is the most overrated movie?

idk what I think "thee" most overrated movie is like, there's just to many movies to narrow it down but one of MY most overrated movies will always be An American in Paris fucking waste of my god damn time like older films have a different sort of flow and pace compared to modern films and that's not the issue I can watch an older film and still vibe - I actually liked Judy Garland's A Star is Born even with all the obvious issues, Philadelphia Story wasn't bad either, Gentlemen Prefer Blonde's is delightful, etc - but like nothing fucking happens in An American in Paris worst is that the last 20-ish minute of the film is just Gene Kelly flexing just one long run-on dance scene that's not even like connected together??? It's just in his head with different set pieces and a means to flex Nina Foch as his dance partner

The only other film that inspires that much this shit is so fucking overrated to me is Singin in the Rain which I also didn't like. The songs were okay and yeah everybody in the cast can dance like whoa but the story is boring - I'd rather watch a documentary on actors being dubbed post silent era tbh it'd be more interesting - and Debbie Reynolds has no chemistry with Gene Kelly.

Maybe I don't like Gene Kelly movies lmao I find these two specifically "overrated" b/c they're considered "classics" in cinema and like I get why but also I hate them

A more modern day overrated pick is Captain America Civil War, fuck that movie oh and Blade Runner fuck that movie too

40 > a film you think everyone should see at least once

Fuck this is DIFFICULT so I'ma cheat lmao

Titanic - if only for the sheer power and brilliance of Cameron's direction like if you're a fan of film making I think you should watch this movie. The scene where the ship sets sail and the head on shot is so freaking well done it's phenomenal. Cameron is a good direction, I've seen a lot of his films and what I like about him is he makes good films that are well made but accessible.

Princess Mononoke OR Ponyo - I think these two are two of Miyazaki's best work in terms of animation. Storywise I prefer PM but Ponyo has just some absolutely amazing animation. What I really love about Miyazaki's direction is the still moments he has in his films, there's a lot of shots in PM where nothing is happening except a butterfly landing on a tree branch, or a character looking at the moon.

Tale of Princess Kaguya - speaking of Ghibli I feel like when it comes to Isao Takahata's work everyone recommends Grave of the Fireflies which is totally fair and I def think that film is 1000% worth watching but I think ToPK is his crowning jewel the animation is BRILLIANT and the story is heart wrenching. It really combines everything Takahata's work was so good at - tragedy, beauty, stillness, how the lack of community hurts us all ugh so good

NGE End of Eva - honestly this film is my Clockwork Orange in film bro terms lmao like I don't know if I "recommend" this b/c it's confusing - you gotta watch Death/Rebirth to even understand it at all and even THEN it's confusing - but it's so VISCERAL like def one of the most visceral experiences I've had watching a film and for that I think it's 100% worth watching

I also think it's worth checking out Martin Scorsese and Hayao Miyazaki's recommend films list

Metropolis (1927 and 2001) the OG film is really if you want to see how classic movies worked and if you like history, the 2001 is animated and not a remake but is beautifully animated and has one of the BEST climaxes of any film I've seen
