Tumblr media
A Little Death (Dark Era; aged up/18+; NSFW) Mafia!Dazai x Reader  1706 words Tw: sui ideation, choking
It was a secluded scene, shrouded in silence. No one dared to cross the boundary of the hotel’s grounds; to do so was a privilege only afforded to a select few. Its air of secrecy was such that it rendered the half a dozen armed guards who brooded over the tower like ravens, quite superfluous. Port Mafia territory. For a scarce number, its walls knew their secrets but whispered none. For the rest, it was simply impenetrable.
The hotel room was neither luxurious nor homely. Thin gauze blinds let in little moonlight. Outside, the starless sky was streaked with storm clouds. Even the fluorescence which defined Yokohama’s horizon and kept the city in artificial daylight did not reach this dark corner of the prefecture. Rain pattered relentlessly, the deluge so intense that entire waves were dashed at the rattling windows. Thin branches scraped against glass. You glanced above your head, half-expecting the flaked plaster to cave in at any moment.
Quieter than the storm came the clicking of the heating unit. A stale smell lingered about the plain, whitewashed walls. A black suit jacket thrown over a chair. Unfinished business. Sake bottles cluttered the side table. A low electric light. Crumpled bed sheets and the scent of sex.
You felt too cold to remain in the doorway. Shrugging your coat off, you hung it on a wall-mounted hook beside his. Its belt dripped rainwater onto the matting beside your discarded Louboutins. As you crossed into the room his silhouette came into view. Dazai sat cross legged on the floor, arms in his lap, his back against the end of a double, Western-style bed. He made no sign at your approach. His gestures, or lack of, were as inscrutable as ever. No one had ever sifted the murky depths which submerged his heart. You only knew that he played games. And, if his intention was to set you on edge, then you would just have to make yourself comfortable.
“I know I kept you waiting…”
The bed gave a small creak as you knelt upon it. Removing the tie from your hair, you allowed it to tumble down, sodden and tangled, past your waist. Then, with a sound of relative contentment, you flung yourself on your back and stretched out your legs luxuriously upon the pillows. Dazai was motionless; the back of his head remained against the foot of the bed. Dark, brown tufts stood up, unruly. You let your head hang down beside his so that your rain-flecked skin brushed against his face. His cotton bandage wrapping grazed your cheek. You felt his jaw tighten. Upside down, the cracks in the floor appeared more fragile than the ceiling. Either one could give way at any moment.
A hand reached into your hair.
“If you remember, you did promise me romance…” Dazai’s tone was as soft as silk. With a turn of his head, the tip of his nose brushed your own. His breath, sweet with sake, clouded you. Threatened to pull you under. Only the initiating thread of conversation and he was already reeling you in.
Slowly his fingers stroked loose strands from your face, until he was cradling the back of your head. There was something so gentle, so loving in the subtle press of his fingertips that you closed your eyes.
“I know…” Your words bore the weight of remorse, even if you didn’t feel it.
Rain lashed violently at the window. Dazai gathered your damp hair around his fingers, weaving a braid like a coil of rope. Playful. If his patience was worn then the lithe movements of his hands did not suggest it.
“How beautiful…” he mused to himself, wrapping the twisted knots like a noose around his knuckles. Watchful, you lay still. In the gloom the pale skin of your neck shone silver.
“What is?”
Wet hair tickled your throat.
“...why, the thought of dying with you tonight. What else?”
Dazai’s voice was thick with desire, quite at odds with such a fatalistic notion. The weight of your corded braid was draped across your neck. With a rustling movement, he had risen to his knees.
“...that’s why you came here, after all.” Dazai poured his whisper into your ear. Liquid black.
Unkempt hair brushed your skin. A pale face; his scars half-hidden beneath wrappings. Dazai’s exposed eye gazed down at you with lust. Its colour was as dark as earth whilst the iris gleamed like molten gold at its centre. His words, his gestures, his games; who could look beyond the endless depths into Dazai’s heart? No; to meet his eye was to stare down into the core of the world itself.
A pull upon the end of your hair; the vine wound itself tighter. You smiled up at him, despite the pink blotches forming on your skin.
“Actually -” you managed, your breath stuttering, “- what I proposed - was a little death.”
Your scalp burned where strands were almost yanked from the roots. Ignoring your hold upon his sleeve, Dazai twisted your hair around his fingers. As ever, he wove his little designs only for you to fall, ensnared in his trap. Not that you minded. If you had any intention of survival, then you would never have accepted his invitation here tonight. Easy prey. What was the point in the struggle when Dazai could so easily devour you whole?
Then the twisted cord collapsed. Your chest heaved in the quiet room. The long ribbon of your hair was still gathered in Dazai’s grip. Fiercely, he jerked your head backwards.
“Is that all you can manage?” Warm breath curled over the shell of your ear. His teeth grazed the sensitive skin of your lobe. Bloodlust rose to the surface.
You let out a shiver of breath, rolling your head back against the covers. Dazai’s shadow fell; rippled down your chest as he leaned over the edge of the bed. His black tie swung loose; draped over your ribcage. With a brush of cool air he drew your collar away. Languorous in his movements, he enjoyed the sight of you like this. His nose grazed your bare shoulder, breath ghosting over your skin. Then - a gentle drop of his lips.
“Find out for yourself, Osamu…”
Dazai pressed his kiss to the base of your throat like a knife.
Hands gathered in his hair, you sighed as Dazai trailed slow, hot, open-mouthed kisses down to your jawline. Your legs writhed against the pillows. Purple wounds nicked into your skin; each mark counted and tossed on the mound of his sins. They said that only darkness flowed through his veins. Mafia black. Doomed to love as dangerously as he lived.
Dazai tasted your jaw; lingered over your cheek, his breath coming quicker. Threading his fingers through your own, he drew your arms beneath him. A feather-light touch to the pale skin of your wrists, his fingertips wandered your limbs. A tuft of dark fringe swept your chin as Dazai kissed your lower lip. Thighs clenched together, you gave another airless sigh. Your mouth chased his, body arching beneath his caress. Head turning against his own, you felt his tongue glide over the back of your teeth.
With a creak of mattress springs, the weight upon the bed shifted. Dazai’s knee sank into the covers beside your head. Bandaged hands smoothed the hem of your dress as his mouth nipped languidly at your bottom lip.  The material was bunched together in his fist, and then he slowly drew it up over your hips.
You gasped as Dazai broke away from your mouth. Fingertips stroked your upper leg. A thumb dipped into the waistline of your underwear.
“La petite mort… the brief state of unconsciousness.” Dazai’s breath warmed the inside of your leg. “Only those consumed by death or desire know it…”
With one hook of his finger he had drawn the lace down around your ankles. Teeth grazed your thigh. Your chest rose and fell as he pressed a kiss to your soft, warm skin. Inching closer, closer… until he was right above where you wanted him. Your hands slipped down Dazai’s lower back. Then, the first brush of his tongue. A low moan bled from your throat. His crumpled shirt almost tore under your nails.
Dazai teased, tasted your clit; his subtle toying sent heat flaring. But one taste had provoked a deeper craving within him. Tongue flattened against you, Dazai indulged himself. His grasp upon your legs tightened until his knuckles blanched. The swill of his tongue set your tender flesh aflame. Your mouth dropped open, back curved away from the bed. Beads of sweat broke out over your forehead as you gripped the bedsheets in your fists. All you wanted was to feel his movements inside you.
As Dazai leaned over you, the fabric of his suit brushed your ear. Self-serving, of course he never gave without taking. All that mattered was the price you paid. In this position, he had you exactly where he wanted you. Reaching out, your hand brushed the rigid pleat in his trousers. Hastily, you unclasped his belt; slung down the material; drew him out. With a firm grasp you guided his rock hard cock down to your open mouth.
Lips closed around him. Tight. With a shudder, his hips thrust forward. Dazai’s bandaged hands lifted your legs, splayed you open to swallow you whole. Fingertips buried themselves in your skin. Oh how he longed to grip them in your hair whilst he rubbed himself against your lips. Your nerves were humming; shivers shot through your limbs like electricity. The first syllable of his name collapsed into a moan which sent vibrations down his cock. He scraped the roof of your mouth over and over, until his rhythm began to stutter.
“Fuck…” you heard him choke. “...fuck… no one else can take me like you do.”
He gripped your legs higher, pulled you to him, drank you down. Insatiable. You were burning alive. Helpless, your body melted on his tongue. With a choked gasp, you clenched your thighs around his neck.
“...wanna die happy…” Dazai’s voice was weak as he wiped his mouth on the inside of your thigh. “...so let me die between these legs, Beautiful...”

Hot take that may make everyone hate me but I think about this all of the time. Disclaimer: everyone can have their own opinions!
If we’re talking about canon Levi, the Levi written by Isayama and supported by his official editors, he’s not going to have a love interest. In fact, it wouldn’t make sense to ship him with anyone, but Erwin, and probably not in a romantic context.
Yes, Isayama says that Levi does not have romantic feelings for anyone/does not have a romantic love interest. However, he also emphasizes the bond between both men. He says that Levi prioritizes Erwin’s orders (source: 2017 Shingeki no Kyojin Character Directory, p. 157) and that “Levi doesn’t allow anyone to get at his heart except Erwin who is the only one he completely trusts.” (ATTACK ON TITAN: OUTSIDE OSAMU, 2013). This man has a respect and vulnerability only saved for Erwin. Erwin was an irreplaceable existence for Levi. So perhaps these men did not have a romance, but it wouldn’t be called a “friendship” either. Levi is said to have mentioned that he doesn’t bother explaining his relationship with Erwin to others because they wouldn’t get it. It’s difficult to explain and he really doesn’t care how people interpret it. So in my eyes, their bond expands beyond romance. It’s unbreakable and deep in ways that maybe are too complicated to just be labeled as a romance. Canonically there is love there for certain.
Knowing that Levi has chosen Erwin as his “liege” or ackerbonded person (Yes, the ackerbond is real: sources the Guidebook from Isayama himself source 1; source 2) makes me really question why he has so many other ships. Honestly, I feel this way for every Ackerman (thinking of Mikasa especially). Because again, if we are talking about canon Levi, whoever he is involved with romantically would always be second to Erwin. His duties and desire to protect Erwin will always take precedent. I’m all for other ships but it’s when people are like “this ship with this person and Levi is definitely objectively canon”…no it’s not.  It can’t be. It’s actually the reason I can’t ship him with other people. The other person in the ship deserves someone who can love them to their fullest. I’m not saying Levi is incapable of loving others due to his bond with Erwin. I think this post sums it up perfectly: Levi is a very compassionate person and has shown his care for so many in so many ways. It’s the fact that Erwin will always come first for him. An example of this is found during the “I’ll break your legs” conversation where Levi demands that Erwin stays behind despite being their leading commander (great analysis about this here) even with the risk of other soldiers dying being increased without the strategy of their commanding officer, Levi wants Erwin to stay. He knows this mission is dangerous, hence why he is trying to convince Erwin not to go. He again is putting Erwin before all others. He may not be expecting all of the soldiers to perish, especially because Levi himself intends to be there, but he is certainly increasing their risk of death and he knows this.
Think for example about Hange. He says Hange can lead during this dangerous battle in Shiganshina, and while Hange is a very capable soldier, he’s more willing to put them in the forefront despite their inexperience being a full commander yet or even leading a charge. If it means keeping Erwin safe and away from danger, so be it. Often times people look to the scene of them in the forest as a great Levihan moment. It’s a very touching scene in general, one of my favorites between them (the first being when Hange kicks that chair and Levi judges tf out of them xD). And at the same time, Levi prioritizes Erwin in this scene. Hange suggests staying and Levi says no for many reasons, and one of those reasons is unarguably because he wants to kill Zeke. He wants to fulfill this last duty. A duty that he associates with Erwin. A duty that he reiterates time and time again throughout the rest of the story. Another example is when he lets Erwin go. I saw post where they talked about this and it makes so much sense. Levi let Erwin die, knowing that Hange would have to step up and be commander, whether they wanted to or not. That did not matter in that moment to Levi, because for him, this personal choice he made was about “letting Erwin rest” (he says this) took priority over considering the implications this would have for Hange. And yes, letting Erwin rest was not the only reason that Levi chose Armin but it’s also been stated that it’s the main one (Isayama’s answers in the 2017 Attack on Titan Character Encyclopedia).
In the end, being commander causes Hange a lot of stress and they struggle with whether they are good enough. As I mentioned, the same goes for the forest scene, Levi is choosing the something he associates with Erwin (killing the beast titan) over Hange. Here’s a post where it’s talked more too. Hange deserves someone who puts them first! I’m not saying Levi does not care for Hange. He does. He shows his love and care for them throughout the story. The friendship between them is amazing but it is a very different relationship than the one that Levi has with Erwin. His care for others is very different than his care for Erwin. These are reasons I can only support and perceive Levi and Hange as a friendship (not to mention that whenever they are shipped with Levi it takes precedence over Hange’s character and even gender [always perceived as a woman in the ship despite their character being ambiguous in the original manga work] but those are topics for another time)
Don’t even get me started on the Eren and Levi ship. We won’t go there in detail because I refuse to entertain this idea, but again, canonically, most of their interactions are negative and you know…the biggest issue is the whole p3dophilia thing. Even if you’re talking a grown Eren, that’s grooming, my guy.
So I don’t know, I think it’s interesting to see how the fandom interprets these things and everyone is entitled to do this the way they please. It’s just so straight forward in my brain because of how Isayama has set things out.
Of course not everything has to be canon and creativity can be much more fun they strictly sticking to the original work. Not everything needs to be canon in order to have fun with ships! These are fictional characters after all. I think the part that confuses me is when people claim how real, true, or canon something is when we’ve already been given all of the pieces.

🔫 this is a robbery, hand over your post war Levihan headcanons (please 😊)
The world needs to know
Post war levihan gives me life ok, they're both alive and happy and together and no one spoils that for me. It's canon. Isayama who?
Congratulations, the robbery was a success and here's the loot
So after the Rumbling and the Battle of Heaven and the Earth, these two retire. First they recover in the hospital, Hange’s burn injuries and Levi’s leg and they take a break to just breathe and relax.
Once they’re on their feet (and wheelchair) Hange drags Levi to travel as many places as they can go.
Queen Historia funds their visits (Hange somehow convinced her to allocate a budget for them cuz she wanted to see everything. And as they were heroes of the war and her parents former superiors, she agreed) and they travel a lot.
But it’s not just going places and having fun, They plan on helping out in the rebuilding of the areas affected by the Rumbling too. They go around aiding in reconstruction and Hange helps the mechanics and engineers and learns things from them too.
Levi distributes clothes, food, and lollipops to kids who love him. Hange later teases him for looking too long at the lollipop, “You remembered that clown right?”
“No, I was thinking about how you chased after cars in Marley with carrots in your hand.” And she gets all embarrassed, crying out how she was just so excited that she couldn’t stop.
And he says fondly, “There’s no need to get defensive four-eyes, I was happy to see you so excited after months back then.” And she blushes because wtf?! When was Levi so romantic? But then again, he was. When she was about to sacrifice herself and he’d given her his heart.
They don’t talk about this, nor her proposal in the forest. They don’t need to, not yet. They’ve both reached a stage of familiarity and comfort with each other throughout the years which doesn’t need any words. They both just know and they’re fine with it (levihan telepathy at its peak)
They stay with the brats whenever they stop by in Paradis—or at the palace and help out with Historia’s orphanage. Eventually they decide to buy a house since they won’t be traveling forever. It’s a nice little cabin in the woods, just like Hange had dreamt of.
It turns into a kind of summer house, or a place to stay in whenever they stop at Paradis and rest. They have it renovated, repainted and furnished and it becomes their own cozy little place.
Levihan eventually settle down in their cabin for good once traveling constantly becomes too hectic. They’re used to sharing a bed by now, they did it all the time in their travels, and it comes with the much needed comfort of having someone familiar close by after waking up from nightmares.
But that night feels different, they’ve finally settled down and this cabin is no longer a temporary lodging for their stays in Paradis, it’s on its way to become their house, their home. A safe place to relax and live in. Just like what Hange yearned for in the forest when she proposed they live here together
So Levi turns to her and sees her awake as well, staring at him. They both know that now words are needed to solidify this thing between them. But neither of them know how to proceed
Hange goes first, cuz Levi may be the strongest, he’s still not the bravest when it comes to certain things. So Hange talks, shapes out their feelings into words and sentences and each sits warmly upon them both like an extra blanket in the chilly night. And when she’s done, Levi just pulls her close and there’s too many words, feelings stuck in his throat, his mind but all he can say is “Yes. Me too.” And he just kisses her, and they hold each other all through the night.
They look after each other’s injuries, he takes care of her burns, she helps him with exercises for his leg. Both of them are a bit conscious about their injuries. There are times when Hange looks at her scarred, burnt body and she feels broken, weak and just falls into despair. She asks Levi how he can stand looking at her, how can he put up with her, does he want to? She’s not enough.
But he takes her face in his hands and tells her she’s more than enough. And he places her hand on his own knee, the injured one and looks into her eye. It’s one of those levihan telepathy moments where he tells her with his eyes we’re both broken, you’re there for me and I’m here for you, so we’re each other’s crutches.
Once again, they’re like two halves of a whole. Even after the war, with their flawed bodies and capabilities, they fit in together perfectly. She’s there as his support when he needs to walk and he’s there as the soothing balm to her burning scars. They don’t need anyone else.
Things have changed, and now it’s Hange who helps Levi take a bath. She’s careful with him and Levi would tell her to wash his hair again and again, he likes how her fingers feel in his head. But the roles haven’t completely switched, he’d still drag her for a bath as well since she always neglects it.
Levi is the cuddler.
While they both naturally wake up at the crack of dawn due to years of army training drilled into them, there are days they hold back and relax. But on those days Hange's usually the one who wants to jump out of bed first, there's just so much to do, how can she waste her day in bed? But it's levi who pulls her back and buries his face in her shoulder and cages her in his warm sleepy embrace and says, "Stay still four-eyes, those seedlings aren't going anywhere." And he just. Cuddles.
Hange goes wild in the garden, she plants all that she can get her hands on and Levi goes around ordering her to arrange it all neatly. And his help is needed, otherwise their garden would’ve been a terrible mess. He makes sure there are neat sectors to all the things, vegetables at one side and fruits at the other.
“I’m telling you shorty, tomatoes are fruits! We’re not planting them on the veg side.”
Levi’s got a side of the garden all for himself where he grows tea and he cherishes his little tea garden. Whenever Hange comes across any exotic or new species of tea, she makes sure to get plenty of seeds for Levi to plant.
She goes about experimenting with plants and seeds, she does grafting and makes hybrid seeds and plants them to observe the results. They have plenty of land around the cabin and she’s got all the time in the world now. She also tries to make hybrid species of flowers.
She works together with Levi and does the same things with tea. They end up opening a tea shop and Levi tells her it was once his dream as a kid. It gets a lot of customers, and it keeps Levi and Hange busy. Hange continues to experiment with tea and they get the most unique blends that way. Eventually they add a few other things to the menu but their tea remains the most famous one in Paradis.
The 104th often visit their home or the shop. Armin’s often at their place, asking Hange for commander advice and they talk politics for long hours.
Mikasa prefers the tea shop more, it’s a cozy, comfortable place, not too quiet, and not too loud. It suits her mood and the aroma of tea calms her down. Levi would often find her asleep in one of the cushy armchairs and just throw a blanket over her if it’s cold. She doesn’t like to go back home since it’s mostly empty and quiet (and she misses Eren, we don’t blame her) so Levihan often invite her over to their place. By now they’ve practically made the second guest room as Mikasa’s bedroom. She often spends the nights there and when she can’t sleep she comes out and sits on the porch.
Levihan also have sleepless nights, so when their daughter she’s staying over they all gather outside or in the living room and have hot tea and talk to forget their worries. It’s a good way to keep unwanted memories away for all of them. The morning finds them all asleep on the carpet, Levi and Hange leaning into each other, Mikasa with often her head on Hange’s lap.
Jean and Connie visit a lot as well, and whenever the 104th all come together, Hange makes sure they all stay the night no matter how much Levi grumbles about them being too noisy. She brushes off his complaints, he was always an old man hiding away from fun and excitement.
They have drinking games on the porch and Hange and Levi get a lot of dares to kiss each other. They kids were always betting on them to get together, and now that they officially are, they wanna see all the proof they can get. Plus it’s good to see their tough captain all red faced and embarrassed.
Whenever their Marley friends visit, Levi and Hange go meet them. Gabi and Falco get along surprisingly well with Levi, they steal him away from Hange for the day and zoom around the city with his wheelchair. He pretends to complain. Pretends.
Pieck, Onyankopon and Hange get along the best together. They always fill her in about the situation of the world, the aftermath of the war. It starts out with just people collecting the pieces after the rumbling and focusing on rebuilding everything. But over the years as the states get stronger Hange and Levi get news about more conflicts, more schemes, no war in sight but the usual political disagreements and disunity. It saddens her how quickly humans revert back to their divided state, fighting once more over land or money or people.
Pieck tells them they don’t have anything to worry about. They’ve retired, all they gotta do is enjoy the rest of their lives.
Hange wants to write about their dead comrades, document everything about their lives within the walls and outside them, their training and the survey corps. She wants their memories to remain and Levi agrees on that. So they begin, it turns into a book with a few volumes. Hange writes down all she and Levi can remember and fills the pages with their friends’ laughter, tears and blood. The war and Paradis’ side of the story behind the genocide.
It gets published and it’s a hit. People around the world would eventually read it (but by that time Levi and Hange would probably be dead) and it’s one of the crucial things that changes the views of the masses about the ‘Island Devils”
They talk about having children, Hange asks Levi if he wants any. The idea is nice, having a little brat of their own. But it turns out they’re too tired to manage a baby and the crying and wailing that comes with it and the attention it would demand. Besides they already do have children, the brats from the 104th.
Perhaps if they were younger and had lived different lives, they would’ve been more serious about it. But not here. Now they’ve survived through hell and want to be selfish with the rest of their lives. And they are.
💚💜

Hello. Would you, please, write smth about Hange and Levi's eventual reunion in the afterlife?
Hi Anon! Of course; I’ve wanted to write Levihan reuniting in afterlife for quite some time now, so thank you for giving me the opportunity!! 🤭 Here it is!
Title: Our Eternity; Rating: T; Word Count: 1137
With one final breath, Levi's eyes fluttered shut, leaving this world behind. For a moment, there was nothing - only darkness and an unbearable quietness enveloping him.
But then, something changed, and the weight suddenly disappeared. A warmth that blossomed within him took over, spreading from his heart over his entire body. His eyes remained shut, but he knew that he was in another place - a world untouched by the scars of his past, where only peace reigned.
He took a deep breath, feeling life rush back into him - though not in the same way as before. It felt different, lighter somehow, as if being alive carried a new meaning in this place. Underneath his body, he could feel the crisp grass touching his arms and neck, while a warm breeze brushed his face and tickled his bare feet.
Slowly, he opened his eyes and was immediately blinded by dazzlingly bright light, which was overwhelming at first. But he continued to breathe in the sweet air, listening to the rustling of the leaves around him and gradually, the light softened into a warm, golden hue, revealing the canopy of a tree.
Levi allowed himself to linger in that peace for a moment longer, savouring the tranquillity. Suddenly, a rustling reached his ears, which definitely didn't come from the leaves. Propping himself on his elbows, he sat up slightly - and instantly froze in place, his breath catching in his throat.
He blinked a few times, certain that his eyes were playing tricks on him. But the sight in front of him remained - a familiar face he hadn't seen in what felt like a lifetime.
Hange was sitting a little distance away from him, crossed-legged in the grass, looking down at her hands as she fiddled with a dandelion. A soft light surrounded her, casting a gentle glow on the serene moment before his eyes. She seemed to sense his gaze and looked up, and when their eyes finally met, time seemed to stand still.
A soft smile appeared on her lips, and she dropped the dandelion. “Look who’s finally here. I've been waiting for you.” She unfolded her legs and knelt down next to him, her knees almost brushing his elbow.
“Hange?” he gasped, her name a sweet sound to his ears. He quickly shifted into a sitting position, afraid to break eye contact for fear she might disappear.
She chuckled and cocked her head. “Yeah, it’s me. Time works differently here, that's why I don't look all wrinkled and worn out.”
Levi allowed himself a moment to take in her face. She looked young and full of life. Her skin was smooth and unscarred, her hair open and falling over her shoulders in gentle waves, and she was looking at him with a pair of chestnut brown eyes. He raised his hand to his right cheek and ran his fingertips over it - there were no scars.
“You're right; injuries and imperfections don’t exist up here. No pain, no illness. That’s why I’m not wearing any glasses,” she explained with a grin. She slowly lifted her hand to his face, pausing over his right eye before finally running her fingers over the spot where she had once stitched him up. It was only with the feeling of her skin against his that he truly understood she was actually there, and that after so many years apart, they were finally reunited.
In that moment, it didn't matter to him that his feelings were probably written all over his face. He might make a fool of himself, but he didn’t care. The only thing that mattered was that she was there, that he was there, and that they were given a second chance. Together. “I missed you so much,” he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.
“I missed you too.” Her hand gently caressed his face - a simple touch, but it was enough to set his heart on fire. A single tear rolled down his cheek, then another, and she wiped them away with the back of her fingers.
He gave in to the overwhelming urge and leaned forward, pressing his forehead against her shoulder. Her hands moved reassuringly over his back, and then, finally, she pulled him into a warm embrace. His arms instinctively wrapped around her waist as he returned the gesture, drawing her as close as possible.
There was one thing, though, that he still needed to do. He had already spent half his life regretting not having dared to take the first step. But now he was given a second chance, and he was determined to make it right. Carefully, he pulled back just enough to look her straight in the eyes, their foreheads still pressed together. Shaky fingers reached for her cheek, and he gently brushed a lock of her hair back behind her ear.
Hange seemed to sense what he had in mind, and her eyes widened slightly, but she didn’t pull back. Her eyes flickered from his lips up to his eyes again, and anticipation coiled in his stomach.
Levi wanted to say something, to tell her how he felt, but the words caught in his throat. He had never been good with words, and it seemed that even in a place like this he couldn’t find the right ones to express everything he wanted to say. “Hange, I..."
“I know. Me too,” she whispered softly, not even letting him struggle to find the right words. He let out a huff of air, and the corners of his lips turned up just a little.
His heart was pounding very fast when he finally reached for her head, burying his fingers deep in her hair, but there was no turning back now. He leaned in, closing the small gap between them, and gently pressed his lips to hers.
The warmth that rushed through his body at that touch was overwhelming, but it also felt incredibly good. Everything about the kiss felt right - how her soft lips moved against his as she returned the kiss, how her hands rested on his chest, one directly over his pounding heart, and how her fingers were buried in his hair as she deepened the kiss, gently scratching the back of his neck. Kissing her was both exhilarating and thrilling, and in that moment, he had never felt so profoundly loved.
What he had intended to be just one kiss turned into several, and when they finally pulled away, both were breathing heavily, their cheeks flushed but smiles wide.
“I should’ve done this sooner,” he murmured, gently tracing her jawline with his thumb.
“Oh, definitely,” Hange chuckled, playfully nudging his nose with hers. “But I don’t care. Now we have an eternity to make up for everything.” With those words, she leaned in again and drew him into another kiss.

Hello 🤎
Dropping by your ask box to say how much I enjoy and love your works! You're so precious to the Levihan community and I can't get enough of your stories.
If you still take prompts (no pressure though if you don't or if you don't like the prompt or if you already wrote something similar), I'd like to read a story set in High School AU.
Against all odds Levi, the most popular student/amazing athlete/gorgeous boy asked Hange, the four-eyed/androgynous/nerdy/dirty/brilliant genius he barely knows to prom. The story can be either how/why he asked Hange and what were their reaction (and the other students reaction) or what happens on prom night when he picks a dolled up Hange up at their house and when they enter the ballroom together.
Thank you 🤎
Hange is nearly convinced they're hallucinating. Imagining things that aren't real, cannot be real. Projecting their own desires and confusing them with reality.
That's the only logical conclusion they come to, well - one of two only logical conclusions. The second one... Hange doesn't want to even think about it. It makes them feel uncomfortable, like all their insides are sticky and they're about to puke.
But Levi, the star of the school's football team and the most gorgeous boy Hange has ever laid their eyes upon, would never do that, would he? Despite his status and reputation, he's not like all the other popular kids from their school, those who make a hobby out of mocking Hange. Sure, he only exclusively addresses them as four-eyes, but that- appears nearly affectionate, compared to the nicknames that Hange receives from other students.
Levi may seem scary, what with all his scowling and nearly constant brooding, but, underneath it all - he's kind. At least, that's how Hange thinks of him. And they have enough proof of that - like that time, when Levi helped them carry all their books from the library or that one time, when he stepped in for them, when a couple of girls were making fun of them (sure they could have defended themself just fine, but- Levi’s deed was nothing if admirable, and- Hange was growing sick of spending most of their afternoons in the detention).
But what if all these incidents were just an accident? What if Levi is not as kind as he appears? What if their crush on him tinted their vision and turned them to reality?
What if what Levi just said to them wasn't a hallucination, nor a projection, and Hange did hear everything correctly? What if Levi saw right through them, took note of their very obvious crush on him and decided to pull a cruel joke on them?
Hange doesn't know what they'd do if that turns out to be true. They can't even figure out how they feel about it - are they ashamed, angry or just hurt?
Perhaps, for the first time in their life, Hange can't find their voice. Words escape them, all rational thoughts scattering from their mind. So they say nothing, do nothing, and just stare at Levi, hoping that he - in a true hallucination fashion - would vanish before their eyes.
But he does not.
He stares back at Hange, his eyes slightly narrowed, as though he tries to find some sort of an answer on their face. A bit passes, then two, then- when Hange is nearly ready to burst into hysterics - Levi sighs and reaches for his backpack.
He stands up from the cozy spot under a tree that Hange usually spends their lunch breaks at, and turns his head sideways with what Hange would assume was shame, if they weren't so bewildered by the whole ordeal.
"Sorry," he murmurs, so softly that Hange almost misses it. "For taking up your time, and... you know."
No. Hange does not, in fact, know. So, just as Levi turns away, they reach out to him and grab him by the end of his sleeve.
"Wait!" they exclaim, surprised at how breathless their own voice sounds. They weren't running, they hardly even moved, then why their heart beats so fast? And why does it feel like all air was sucked out of their lungs? Hange doesn't bother pondering on it, they have a far more pressing matter, because it seems - they feel - like the impossible conclusion was actually the correct one. "You really mean it?" they ask Levi. "This whole... prom thing?"
Levi gives them a look - the one they know all too well, the one that makes him look like a ferocious cat and never fails in making Hange smile. "What, you thought I was joking?"
"Well..." Hange trails off, trying very hard to stop themself from bursting into a fit of nervous laughter. They fail spectacularly at that, however, and start snickering into the palm of their hand. Levi's scowl, they note from the corner of their eyes, grows more pronounced as they do so. "I did actually think that."
Levi clicks his tongue that quite effectively diverts Hange's attention from the blush that begins to rapidly spread across his face. "Either you're an idiot, four-eyes, or you think I'm a complete jerk."
Hange decides to not dignify that with a reply - they do not consider themself to be an idiot, quite the opposite actually, but at the same time - they do feel a bit stupid for thinking so lowly of Levi.
"Well, since you mean it," they say, giving Levi their most charming smile. "And, apparently, have been rejected so many times that I'm your last chance, I guess... I can take pity on you."
"Wow," Levi deadpans. "You're generous, four-eyes. And also- wrong."
"Huh?" Hange tilts their head to the side, frowning. "How so?"
"You aren't my last chance. You-" Levi does it again - turns away, hiding his face from them. "You are my first choice."
Oh.
Hange's heart reacts funnily to a quiet confession - it misses a single beat, then starts hummering in their chest. Warmth spreads throught their body, and they absentmindedly wonder - is that the feeling of the famed butterflies they're experiencing right now?
The romance books they've skipped through out of boredom a couple of times didn't lie then. It is spectacular.
Does Levi feel the same? Is it why he asked them out? Does Hange- make him feel as giddy?
It's the only logical conclusion they come to, and so, Hange smiles - widely, joyfully.
They stand up, shorten distance between themself and Levi and put a hand onto his shoulder. They catch the baffled look on his face, before he once again tries to turn away.
Hange doesn't let him, though, not until they plant a kiss onto his cheek.
Levi makes a sound then - something between a sigh and a gasp, and with utter fascination Hange watches how desperately he tries to appear unaffected. He furrows his eyebrows, he gives them his famous dark look, but all his efforts go in vain, as his cheeks begin to rapidly gain color.
Hange's pretty sure it's the most adorable thing they've seen in their entire life.
"I'll be looking forward to our date!" they say, a bit cheekily. The most popular boy of their school has asked them out, after all. They have every right to feel a bit arrogant.
They reach out to Levi's hair, and - shocked that he hasn't pushed them away right away - grow bold enough to ruffle it.
Huh.
His hair is as soft and pleasant to the touch as Hange always imagined it to be.
Briefly, they wonder what else Levi would allow them to do - would he let them go for a hug? But they dismiss that thought immediately, it's not the time to push on the boy's boundaries, not yet.
They'll have plenty of opportunities during prom night.
So, they simply squeeze his arm this time, and move to walk past him. They don’t get far enough, before they hear a quiet, impossibly soft, “I’ll be looking forward to it too.”
And just like that - the butterflies return. And with one last glance at Levi, Hange knows - it's not the last time that they experience that feeling.

Mainly a post about levihan but I have tried imagining different scenarios wherein Hange did not have to die, where an ending involved them… looking back though, knowing what they're up against, risking any titan shifter really is not an option for the team… they could just not lose any of them to have a big chance of winning against Eren and stopping the rumble. Many have been saying why couldn't it be Jean that battled the wall colossal titans? While it is true he is told to be exemplary at using ODM gear among his class, our Captain Commander Hange would not be able to bear to sacrifice yet another life of their subordinate. I just could not imagine how greatly it would break Hange's heart and will had they deliberately ordered Jean to do so.
This feat, however, was viewed by many as Hange's suicide rather than a sacrifice… both are true whichever way one would put it.
It is a sacrifice for those of their team to not have a heavy burden to carry on their shoulders to decide who will be left behind, because let's face it, then and there all of them knew that in order to delay the wall colossal titans' movement, one of them should and will be left behind. It was a cold, sad, gruesome fact that I believe Hange did not want any of them to live through. BUT, I also saw it as their way out.
They were just tired… the whole truth that unraveled was so disappointing, I was actually surprised they were able to keep such a composure that made them last until Chapter 132. I can only imagine how dumbfounded Hange was when they have learned that titans are once humans, and that the one person they protected and believed to be a new hope would now be the exact opposite. It was heartbreaking… their appointment as the 14th Captain Commander could also not have come at a worse time, and it was actually relatable in a sense where we were somehow forced to have responsibilities at a young age that we did not fully understand. They saw the opportunity. They grabbed it…
But let's delve in with how the conversation went with Levi. Shinzou sasageyo-- spoken only once by the Heichou, but how powerful and cinematic was it to have him speak those words to the only person he has left at such a time. Oh but I knew that Hange knew if Levi stopped them from going, they would have second thoughts. What once an unbreakable commitment to die will be easily thrown out if only Levi said "Stay." consequently telling him to just let them go.
Isayama would not waste 3 panels showing emotions through Levi's eyes before telling Hange to dedicate their heart if the latter was not important to the captain, and what a beautiful moment it was~ I will be forever grateful to Isayama for not cutting short on that moment, for taking the time to draw those 3 panels of Levi's eyes, and Hange's panel showing astonishment, for letting Levi call Hange "Four eyes" for the last time. That moment was excruciatingly heartbreaking, but it was perfect in its own way… because it was not ~cut short~, and to choose to say "See you later, Hange. Please watch over me." instead of goodbye was so symbolic of the love Levi had to let go but did not want to.
Personally, I do not see Levi and Hange as a romantic couple, but more of platonic soulmates, comparable to one's bestfriend whom you can call at 2 in the morning asking if they believe in God, and the one you would give a handmade bracelet and would not be embarrassed to wear it, that type of platonic relationship. It's difficult not to attest to LeviHan ship when Isayama created so many subtle but not meaningless encounters between the two. One great example was the forest scene right after Hange rescued Levi, and let us not forget their complementary eye injuries. Some may say that fans are ridiculously exagerrating the connections, and that we give too much meaning to scenes that happened just because they did, that they are only coincidences… but Isayama, the great artist that he is, would not make coincidences, especially reoccurring ones.

In your arms
needed some levihan comfort hehe
Words: 886
_________
It was one of those days that Hange Zoë could just not take it. They had experience in not sleeping for days, sure, but this is different. Firstly, they never had to deal with public opinion, secondly, they weren't burnt out, and thirdly, their self confidence has taken a major hit. Truly, why were they Erwin's successor? They always knew they could never amount to the greatest, but they honestly just feel like the most incompetent commander.
At least they know not to run away from responsibility; their next—and best—choice for the succeeding commander is only twenty. No way they're letting someone that young deal with this. No matter how painful their headache right now is. No matter how blurry their vision is becoming despite having their glasses on; they have to keep pushing forward, even if they start losing their sanity.
It's cold, but putting their coat on would be a hassle, and fuck— they just want to tear down their office. But alas, a knock on the door. One they seem to be familiar with.
Levi, they assume.
"Come in," they instruct, fixing their posture.
Indeed. it's the Captain, and he's brought... tea?
"Thought you might need it. Tea and some company," he says with a sigh, and a desolate-as-ever espression, gently kicking the door closed and locking it.
"Shouldn't you sleep too? I know you're an insomniac, but you should still try," they slump onto their desk, laying on their arms.
"Exactly. I'm the insomniac here. You aren't. Sleep."
"Can't."
"Deal with it tomorrow."
"I can't."
"You can. Go to bed, Glasses."
"I fucking can't, Levi. If I keep delaying the shit I have to do—which I've been doing a fucking lot lately—they're gonna keep piling and piling and, I don't know if you've noticed, but the entire fucking world wants to fucking kill every person in this island, and I can't think of a fucking solution, and our best option is to fucking euthanize ourselves. I—I can't—I can't fucking—"
With every syllable, their heart beats faster; with every word, their hearing gets hazier; with every sentence, breathing gets a little harder.
Levi knows Hange. He knows when they're about to break. And so, he knows how to calm them down.
So he walks towards them. He places the tea on their desk, takes off his coat, places it around them, before finally hugging them and resting his cheek on their shoulder.
That's when he felt tears on Hange's face.
"I'm—I'm so sorry..." they whisper.
"I know you're tired too—I'm sorry... for lashing out like that," they manage to hiccup between labored breaths.
"Don't... apologize. You're going through a lot. I know. "
Hange can feel it. The sting in their eyes. Levi too.
"You... don't have to..."
"You want me to."
"Still—"
"I want to stay."
"But—"
"Like how you stayed with me."
They know what he's talking about.
Oh, how he longs for those lost nights.
Those times were, still hard of course, but much simpler. He misses when Hange would still laugh and joke about dire situations to lighten things up. He misses when they would knock at his door at nights after every comrades' deaths to check up on him. When they would comfort him; when they kept him safe in their arms; when the two of them would talk until the sun rose; when they simply kept each other company through the night; when they fell asleep on the floor and he carried them to sleep on his bed.
He never expected to think this, but he wishes for the time when titans were just that: titans.
The Commander turns sideways on their chair and leans on Levi's body. They're gripping on the sleeve of his polo; he takes the opportunity to lead them to sit on the floor.
They never make a sound when they cry. Or at least, they try not to. This time, they're too tired to do anything but let their tears fall.
"Wanna drink?" Levi brings attention to the cup. They nod slowly.
The warmth of the tea against their lips provides familiar comfort. Levi really does make good tea, they think, but they can't seem to recall if they've tasted this before.
"Chamomile. The one we tried when we went to Marley."
"It's good..."
"Is that so?"
The Commander lowers the cup and exhales.
"You gonna do anything next morning?" they ask him, gently grabbing one of his hands.
"Nothing too important."
They turn to look at his eyes, as if asking him to stay.
"I'll be right here," he places an arm around them.
They feel a tug in their heart and burries their face in his shoulder. They wonder if he feels the smile on their face as they drift swiftly to sleep.
Levi gains a sense of relief and carries the sleeping Hange to his quarters. Carefully, he places them on his bed and removes their glasses and eyepatch. He takes a moment to look at them.
Despite their restful state, stress is still evident on Hange's face; Levi slowly lies next to them and gives a tender kiss on their forehead. Their face seems to have relaxed. He tucks away the hair bothering their cheeks.
"Goodnight, Hange." he lays next to them.
And for tonight, they're safe in his arms.

Levihan Short Story Promps and Ideas
From the last poll I posted, most of you wanted another multiple chaptered story after I finish Black Tea is Fine. And I will 100% do that! I already have an idea of what I want it to be, so don't worry I will get to it. (Here's a link to the preview I've posted before). But since it will be about two or three more chapters before the finale of the series, I still want to upload other written works. Here I have added a few story ideas and I want to know which one you guys want me to publish into a full written short story first. Feel free to private message me or leave a comment under to let me know!
High school students Hange and Levi are best friends, and always have been as they grew up next to each other. One day Hange overhears Levi and Kenny talking about her, where she hears her best friend badmouthing her and wishing she would leave him alone. Taking it to heart, Hange distances herself from him, hurt from his words that seem contradictory to how he interacts with her. When in reality Levi only said those words because he couldn't properly word his true feelings to his friend, and ended up saying the opposite of what he felt so his uncle would leave him alone. Levi unaware of Hange hearing it all is confused as to why she no longer visits him, talks to him, or even hangs out with him anymore. Then he witnesses the one thing that he never wanted to see- Hange sharing her first kiss with someone else.
Levi is the vise president of tea company and Hange a botanist hired by him to help figure out a way to increase tea leaf production. He's a stingy man who doesn't know or care much about his staff, but Hange humbles him real quick, forcing him onto "company field trips" and getting him to work alongside her and his farmers. He absolutely hates her and her overly bubbly/optimistic ways, but eventually starts developing respect towards her and possibly deeper meanings that go beyond work partners.
Librarian Levi and writer Hange who is a regular at their branch. Levi honestly thinks she's only there to bother him as she's there at his every shift without miss, constantly chatting him up despite the customers coming by his desk for check out. She constantly blabbers on about books she reads, most doing with history but occasionally the fictional chapter books she's completely engrossed by. Hange eventually ends up no longer showing up to the library anymore, leaving Levi to always eagerly look up from his desk whenever someone comes through the door, secretly hoping it's a certain bespectacled brunette.
Exes. Levi was a poor farmer while Hange was the daughter of their lands. The two were madly in love with each other and Hange made it well known to everyone and her family that she only wanted to be with him, much to her family's horror and disapproval. Rumours started spreading that Hange is secretly seeing someone else behind Levi's back, and of course, Levi doesn't believe it. Until he runs into them in the man's house while on one of his deliveries. He breaks up with Hange later that day when she comes to visit, without allowing her to give her side of the story. "Do me a last favour and throw it away when you get home." Hange tells him before leaving, confusing as to what she could mean. But when he finally returns home, finds a wrapped gift on his table. But it's too late and Hange doesn't want to see him anymore.
Prince Levi and princess Hange from enemy nations. He was meant to kill her on their first encounter, but failed repetitively. Eventually he falls in love with her and is unable to even think of hurting her. Hange ends up finding out his initial intents and banishes him from her lands.
Nanaba and Mike set up Levi and Hange together as part of a TV program they have in production. While Hange joined because she's the newest member of their company, and therefore asked to enroll as a last minute substitute for the original cast member, Levi is put in because Mike forced him as his friend. The two don't get along at all during their first recording. But as time went on, and the closer they got to the ending of the show, where they both had to declare whether they fell in love or not, both of them eventually realize they have caught feelings for the other.
High school teachers where they are obviously in love with each other, but too dense to realize it themselves. So their students take it upon themselves to set them up so they can finally get them together. Other teachers get a whiff of what they're up to and instead of calling them out for it, secretly aid them behind the scenes.
Hange is a princess and Levi is one of the knights. Due to hate towards the kingdom and the king for what happened to his family, he infiltrates the castle as a knight, wanting to work his way up until he's the king's personal guard to assassinate him. The quickest way he can think of getting there being to earn the princess' favour and getting her to fall in love with him. She does eventually fall for him, but what he didn't foresee is himself falling for her as well. Conflicted at seeing how he didn't want to lose her trust, he starts questioning his plan. But the princess finds out eventually about it. At this point Levi no longer cares about the assassination, but Hange no longer trusts him, and pays him off to leave the castle.

Tonight, I randomly rambled to my mom about Levihan, the painful chapter 132, how I shared my birthday with Hange, how absolutely devastated I was in 2020, how I loved how their relationship was written, how I loved Levi's characterization, how his whole arc was written, how I'm not ready to see THAT SCENE animated this weekend---
Basically, now my mother wants to take a break because "her chest/head aches from the stories I told her".

Hey Alice 🥰
I hope everything's fine for you !
I'm glad Terra tagged you for the WIP game, so I can ask you about your Levihan "Chapter 3 - Ghosts". [Maybe you could even grant us with a snippet 👉👈] I'm curious 👀
Sending love & hugs 🥰
Hi Val! Thank you so much for your ask and your regards 🥰 I hope you're well too!
This chapter is from The Truth Is Out There, But So Is Love, an X-File AU in which the star FBI Agent, Levi Ackerman, is assigned to work with the Bureau's outcast, Hange (Spooky) Zoë in a case involving unexplained phenomena.
In this particular chapter, we learn about the ghosts from Ackerman and Zoë's pasts (spoiler alert: one of them is still being haunted 👀).
Chapter 3 has actually been posted on AO3, but here's a snippet of it anyways:
Hange’s eyes glistened with curiosity, and, for the first time, the scientist seemed to be the one surprised by her partner.
“I gotta hand it to you, Agente Ackerman,” Zoë said as she propped herself up, sitting next to the dark-haired man, their noses inches away from touching. Once again, Levi could see the floral pattern of her hazelnut irides, and he had to make a conscious effort not to let his eyes travel further down “I didn’t think the star of the Violent Crimes section would be willing to take an X-File so seriously,” she wasn’t smiling, and something in her voice had the hairs of Levi’s undercut stand on end. Despite the sudden charge in the air, he didn’t break her gaze.
“Well, you didn’t leave much choice,” the man said, when the silence became unbearable “you’re buying me another jacket, by the way. That one got wrinkled beyond repair.”
“Sorry about that” she laid one hand on her chest, with fake candor “but, in my defense, you were being a major dick” the woman’s laugh faded into a light smile, packed with meaning Levi could not quite grasp. There was a lot about Hange he did not quite understand, but he wanted to.
Thanks again @youre-ackermine ! Sending you lots of love and hugs back 🥰

Levi and Hange were dancing their first dance as husband and wife.
They ignored everything around them. From Nanaba and Kuchel filming the dance to Sasha stuffing two plates of food from the buffet, only Hange and Levi were in their own little world.
"Hey Levi," Hange begins. She was lucky no one could hear them over the song "Stuck With U."
(Hange had actually picked the piece herself because Levi was ready to throw himself over a cliff if she suggested "Perfect.")
"I've been thinking lately." Levi raised an eyebrow, looking at his wife (Hange Zoe-Ackerman will take some getting used to) inquisitively.
"You always think a lot Four-Eyes. I don't know whether to count that brain of yours a blessing or a curse." He brought a hand up to lightly flick her forehead.
(He had also ignored the light chuckle coming from the crowd. This is his and Hange's time to shine.)
"Don't tell me you're considering going back to Hange Zoe again?"
Hange laughed a hearty laugh. "No, Shorty." She said affectionately. "I've been thinking about how we were in our past life."
Levi spun Hange and dipped her. "Our past life?" He asked while looking into her caramel brown eyes. He picked back up so they can go back to their waltz just as practiced.
"You know, did we ever meet? Were we ever married? Did we have kids? Did I die before you because you had no choice but to let me go? Did we live in a cottage in a forest? That sort of stuff, Levi."
Levi sighed before reaching up to flick her again (screw how the crowd reacted). "Hange, I swear that brain of yours overthinks a lot. I will always love you no matter what life we're in. I will love you if I was a guard and you were a princess or if I was rich and you were poor. I will always find you, and I will always love you. But in this life-"
He unexpectedly spun Hange, causing Hange to stumble a bit. Luckily, Levi caught her just before she fell on her butt. He snaked a hand up to her ponytail, bring their faces very close and leaving just a centimeter of space between them.
"I don't plan on losing you."

I am very sorry but I just realised that Hange's birthday is coming up and I HAD to know...
How would she spend it? Does she value her birthday or is it just another exciting day for her? And what does Levi do for her birthday? Does he gift her anything?
I know it's very late and it's already been days since Hange's birthday but I just got time to post this T_T
Thanks for this @sunflowersunite!! 🥰
Here's my little levihan headcanon for how Hange's birthday would've gone in the Scouts
So levi notices in his early years in the scouts that how Hange always remembers his birthday, and Erwin's and all her close friends and comrades and she takes out time to wish each of them and even gets gifts if she can. But when it comes to her birthday, he never sees anyone doing anything other than wishing her.
It confuses him at first how four-eyes goes around making his and Erwin's, mike's and Nana's and even her squad's days special. A small gift here, an invitation of drinks there, it's simple but she does it.
So why the fuck does no one ever do anything for her?
He asks Erwin, who doesn't give a convincing answer, then her squad who simply tells him she doesn't like to celebrate it.
And that just confuses him even more cuz Hange is anything but not festive. Turns out her squad never got a direct answer from her. She was knee deep in research when they barged in and wished her and suggested they go visit the town or something
And she just waved a hand dismissively and said, "Yes very nice, now move along I'm busy." And they never went anywhere that day, and after that her squad assumed she didn't prefer to celebrate so they would just wish her and that was it.
The thing is she doesn't always remember her special day, it slips her mind - there's a lot to do already and somehow it's just too much of a hassle, there's better stuff to do than celebrating. Or sometimes she even forgets about it.
That is until levi comes along.
September approaches and four-eyes wouldn't stop whining about wanting to eat something sweet, and at first Levi can't stand it. But then it turns out to be the perfect thing to gift her.
He makes chocolates himself for her and informs her squad and his that they're celebrating whether she likes it or not. Since she never gave him a choice at his birthday either, this is payback (or so he tells them).
The night before her birthday he knocks her out and makes sure she's bathed and clean. And in the morning he strides into her lab with his trademark brooding face and slaps the box of chocolates on her face (yes I'm aware he originally makes it for her on valentine's day, but this seems like a nice idea too).
And he states in a bored voice, "Happy birthday dumbass."
And then their squads burst in and wish her and hug her and there's also Erwin and Mike and Nanaba and they've got little gifts for her like books or herbs or some lab equipment
And Erwin orders her that they'd be heading over for drinks in the evening so she better get everything done before then
They go as promised and Hange can't stop smiling and grinning the whole time. And she looks knowingly at Levi and thanks him for doing all this. And he pretends the blush on his cheeks is from the beer.
They don't have such grand celebrations every year, there's no time to catch a break or things aren't going so well since it's the survey corps and things go to shit most of the time, but Levi always gives her something or the other on her birthdays. Erwin does too most of the time.
From Levi, it could be a bunch of weird flowers she'd wanted to study, or some strange trinket he thought she could pull apart and do something with, or sometimes even a book. The best gift he gave her was a couple of titans for her research and she'd screamed in delight for fifteen minutes straight.
She named them Chikatilo and Albert of course

Snk 126: Romantic or Platonic?
I have been reading the asks sent to @ihaveaterribleheadache about the Levihan scene in chapter 126 and its context and I wanted to share my thoughts but not flood Gypsy’s comment box lmao so here it goes:
I think people have a fixation with how ‘romantic’ the scene was or whether Hange’s words were a ‘confession’ or not. Which is understandable, since this is one of the most iconic scenes for Levihan shippers as Hange literally confesses their desire to live together with Levi. A common argument is ‘Hange was tired so the words spilled out’ or ‘it can be taken platonically, I would also want to be roommates with my best friend’. As a person who enjoys LH’s relationship as it is, without any labels, I have a few things to say about that.
1. In context of the story
During the course of chapter 126, Hange is taking care of an injured Levi while hiding in the woods after killing their pursuers. It is interesting to note that Hange, a person who cooperated with the Jaegerists’ demands in hopes of reaching some sort of peaceful compromise (even if they could easily take down grown men armed with guns- for example, the MP in the uprising arc) absolutely snapped out of it after seeing Levi near-dead in the river bank.
Seeing Levi hurt gave them the determination to protect him in any way possible, even if it meant risking their own life by jumping into a flooding river with him or killing their own men. The moment when the Jaegerists displayed the intent of killing Levi, Hange was done with all their patience. They instantly switched into fight mode.
Understandably, Hange is tired, physically and mentally after the whole ordeal. And it probably just occurred to them that they were very, very close to losing Levi, the only person they had left, the one person they thought could handle any situation. It came as an utter shock, to see their best friend in that state after a month since he was deployed into the forest. They try their best to patch him up with whatever limited resources they have. The shock has now mellowed down into a deep ache, an incredible sadness at how things turned out to be. And this is when they start their monologue.
Usually, we never see Hange talk about their feelings in front of others unless they are particularly disturbed, and their words show the true depths of their emotions. There are three times we have seen this happen- a) When Hange discovered the wall titans in season two and admits to Moblit and their entire squad along with Pastor Nick that they are terrified. b) (in the manga) When Hange requested everyone to lay low during the beginning of the uprising arc because they felt guilty about Pastor Nick’s death. c) During the serumbowl on the rooftop to help Mikasa accept the inevitable.
These three scenes had incredible weight on them, Scene a- while confronted with ground-breaking knowledge that could change everything, Scene b- The guilt of a person’s life that was entrusted to them being snuffed out from right under their nose, Scene c- The shock of losing Moblit, losing an eye, letting Reiner go, and seeing Erwin die in front of them- which might have not happened if they had Reiner to pass on to him along with Bert.
Hange expresses their true feelings only when something major happens. Otherwise, they keep themself strong, optimistic and fixated on the present and future, rather than the past. But the events that occurred before 126 was bigger than all of them, at least from Hange’s perspective. So, when they said they’d rather run away and live with Levi, it was coming straight from the bottom of their heart- a suppressed desire spilling through. Those words are not something that can be brushed off as a passing statement, especially since Hange calls back to it in 127 to Jean as well. Hange really does want to live a peaceful life with Levi, and Levi alone.
2. In context of Japan’s culture
There are literally so many metas about this, but in short, Japanese confessions are roundabout. This actually applies to many eastern cultures, where we rather give hints than make an outright bold statement of love. Bold statements are usually only made after you’ve established and labeled your relationship properly. Till then, there are statements like “Well, looks like they don’t love you back.” (cough Levi in chapter 132 cough).
Not to mention that the practice of running away from the eyes of the society and living somewhere alone together with your beloved is the EPITOME of romance in many eastern cultures, including mine. So, it’s really, really not a stretch to assume that statement from Hange was intended to be romantic.
3. In the visual context of the setting and mood
This is purely from a writer’s perspective and my frank observation of the scene from a media student’s point of view. If I wanted to hint something between my characters but not make it too explicit, I’d write them into a setting that would be powerful and soft at the same time. Sort of like a bubble, with just the two of them being vulnerable towards each other as the world crumbles apart around them. While this can be applied to any two characters, I’d separate it by enhancing the visuals, the mood, the weight, and the drama of the scene.
When one character’s fierce protectiveness over the other overrides their usual tolerant nature, I’d hope to showcase that for them, the importance of their partner’s life is greater than anything else. One character jumping into a river while clutching the half-dead body of the other is just peak angst drama that rivals fanfictions. Hurt/comfort is one of the biggest fanfic tropes out there, and considering only the visuals of that scene in chapter 126, it is actually cozy and quite intimate, two people sharing alone time in silence in the heart of the woods, crackling campfire casting a glow on their faces and just one tent pitched up. In such a situation, if I wanted to add a subtle touch of romance into it, I’d make them sit in close proximity to each other, have one of them confess their feelings while thinking that their partner is asleep/unconscious, and let them be freer with physical contact.
And for the dummies who still don’t get it, I’d add a blush for safety’s sake.
I’m not saying my interpretation is strictly the same thing that Isayama has intended to portray. All I’m saying is that if he intended to show a smidgen of romance colouring the moment, he did a great job of it. Like, look at the setting and the mood of these panels and then look at me in the eye and tell me that they aren’t extremely intimate, especially for SNK’s standards.

4. In context of their feelings and sexualities
Levi and Hange’s sexualities are not explicitly revealed, but considering their interests and their ways of expression in the manga, I personally find the two of them to be somewhere in the demi/ace spectrum. While there are tons of headcanons, we haven’t seen them actively seek out romantic or sexual relationships or display such feelings towards others. ‘Oh, but Hange had a crush on Shadis/Pieck-’ not really. Hange admired Shadis and his leadership abilities earlier, for being a person who led an extraordinary team with his bravery and ambition, and was disappointed in him later. As for Pieck, Hange barely knew her. They were pretty much just interested in her titan form, being the naturally curious scientist they are. (No offense to Pikuhan shippers, Pikuhan is still one of my favorite crackships along with Zekehan and Zevi lmao, I really enjoy them together but it is what it is)
Personally, as a person romantically attracted to all genders and sexually attracted to none, I don’t see why platonic relationships should, by default, be placed below romantic relationships. In fact, I think platonic relationships are actually stronger, for they are not bound by physical attraction or particular labels. They are families we choose based on their personalities and how much we- how to put this- vibe with them, really. And I think that’s pure af. Strong platonic relationships are equal to or even greater than romantic relationships in my opinion.
Sure, Levi and Hange’s relationship is still open to interpretation, but what they do have- as the last remaining members of the SC, after being comrades and having each other’s backs for around ten years in the face of countless struggles and deaths and sorrows- is nothing short of agape, the purest form of love towards each other. This sort of love transcends the discussion of romantic or platonic, it’s just utter, selfless love, expecting nothing in return. And they have displayed it time and time again, with Hange saving Levi twice, and Levi letting go the only person he had left, by respecting Hange’s wishes in 132 instead of being selfish and holding on.
And I think, at the face of this pure, mature, and selfless love, all the shipping squabbles just fade into oblivion.

Hello 🤎
Do you still take requests? If so, I'd love to read about Hange trying to quit smoking and Levi -so happy they finally took this decision- helping them as best he can if it's ok with you of course! I'm trying to get rid of this poison myself so it would help and comfort me to see how LeviHan would manage to do so!
Thank you so much!
🤎🤎
Hange knows that what they're doing is wrong. They know it's shameful, and, honestly, more than a little bit pathetic.
But it's been a long and stressful day, and all they want - and need - by the end of it is a cigarette.
They won't even smoke the whole thing, just take one drag. Or, maybe two. Okay, maybe three, but that- that would be it. Three quick drags, and they won't touch these things ever again.
The obvious lie even makes them feel good about themself, but, unfortunately, it lasts for no longer than a heartbeat.
Hange brings the cigarette to their lips, takes the lighter out, lifts it and instantly - Levi's face flashes before their eyes.
If they smoke that cigarette, he'd know that they did, even if he wouldn't pick up on the tobacco's stench himself, surely, Mike would, and Hange has no doubts that their brother would rat them out right that instant.
And Levi... Levi would be disappointed. Not angry, but instead sad. After all, he'd been so supportive of Hange's decision ever since they made their mind about it. So understanding and encouraging. So confident that Hange can quit that nasty vice of theirs.
If they smoke that cigarette, they'd not only ruin all the progress that they've made in two weeks that they lasted without nicotine, they'd discourage their husband's belief in them too.
Hange would hate themself if that ever happens.
They throw the almost lit cigarette to the ground, stomp on it a few times out of frustration, then pick it up and throw it in the trash can, along with the lighter.
They exit the balcony and return to their living room even more stressed than they've been when they came out.
And, of course, because the universe apparently hates them, they come face to face with Levi.
The implications of them leaving the balcony in such quick fashion could be lost only to someone entirely clueless or completely oblivious. And Levi is neither.
Just as Hange predicted, he doesn't appear angry at all, the crease between his eyebrows is one of pure concern.
Hange sighs at the sight of it, and slumps on the sofa.
"I wasn't smoking," they answer Levi's unasked question. "I wanted to, but I... I didn't."
"Alright," Levi says carefully, as he takes a seat next to them.
He keeps watching them - not directly, but out of the corner of his eyes. But even as discreet in his concern as he obviously tries to be, Hange- Hange just can't take it. The embarrassment and shame feel like a heavy stone in their stomach. They cover their eyes with a palm to try and get some reprieve from it.
"So..." Levi breaks the silence, scooching a bit closer to them. "The patches didn't work?"
"No." The nicotine patches sounded like a good idea - in theory. But fairly swiftly Hange realized that it wasn't just nicotine that helped to take the edge away, it was the act of smoking itself. Inhaling the smoke, then exhaling it and watching it slowly drift away in small clouds or bizarre figures - that's what relaxed them. And the patches just don't provide that.
"Maybe, you should try something else then?"
"Nanaba advised yoga, but I don't think that would work on me. I mean, can you imagine me in some bizarre pose during a work day?" Hange chuckles. "People already think I'm crazy."
Levi hums thoughtfully, and as Hange chances a glance at him, they find him staring intently at the floor, hands placed under his chin.
"Maybe..." he says after a moment. "You should try putting something in your mouth?"
Now, Hange turns their full attention on him. A wide grin spreads across their lips, as they pointedly drag their gaze from his face down to his pants.
"God, you're such a pervert," he huffs and gives Hange a look they love dearly. A look that somehow seems irritated and fond at the same time. "I meant something like a candy. Or a gum."
Hange turns the idea in their head and find that... it's not a bad one.
They say so to Levi, and he gives them a nod, before adding, "If you decide to try that out, choose a mint flavor."
"Oh?" Hange raises a curious eyebrow. "And why is that?"
"Well, you've used to smoke menthol cigarettes, and..." he gives them a look that most people that don't really know Levi would call bored, but Hange knows is actually a sly one. "It tastes good."
"Is that so?" Hange raises from their seat to claim the one they prefer most in the world - on Levi's lap. They bracket his hips with their knees and put arms on his shoulders, cradling his cheeks between their palms. "And what do you care how I taste?"
Levi's expression is completely deadpan, his face shows nothing, but his eyes - and the way they momentarily dart to Hange's lips - oh, they reveal everything.
"Isn't that obvious?"
Hange moves their left hand upwards to ruffle Levi's hair and pull him even closer to them. "I want to hear you say it, Levi."
"I would rather show you," he says, and, then, before Hange has the time to mention that they had a spaghetti with a bit too much garlic for lunch, he pulls them to him and claim their lips in a kiss so ardent it leaves Hange completely breathless.
He breaks the kiss, but allows Hange no reprieve, and puts his mouth on their neck, peppering the skin there with swift, but no less invigorating kisses. He pulls away only when he draws the moan from them, and not a moment later, he stands up, hoisting Hange along with him and forcing them to wrap their legs around his waist. Not for a second stopping his caresses, he carries Hange to the bedroom.
And when afterwards, they lay side by side, both sweaty and both thorougly satisfied, Hange realizes that not for a moment have they thought about smoking.
Perhaps, they muse, as they pull Levi closer, sticky skin be damned, they've discovered yet another way to fight with stress.

Hi! Got a prompt for you if you're interested (feel free to write a drabble, a one-shot, or a multi-chap): Levihan, "One more chance." Open to interpretation. Thanks, and good luck! :)
okay so i decided to combine this prompt together with my headcanon for that levihan ring merch for a canon setting one-shot!

One More Chance
"What do you think of rings?" Hange asks Levi out of the blue, in the little room that could suffice as an office for his unofficial position as second in command.
"Why?" Levi knows that Hauge doesn't ask questions out of the blue without motives.
They could be random, absurd, silly, but there was always a reason behind their questions.
Hange plants one elbow on the table, bent forward in anticipation for Levi's answer. His eyes catch the glint of Hange's bolo tie as it swung back and forth.
Jewellery? Vanity aside, Hange knows better than Levi how expensive it is to obtain warm clothing and food, much less a bunch of shiny rocks. They spent days mulling over the Survey Corps’ budget, where to allocate resources, how to seek funding, and to keep expenses humane but tight.
“Why?” He repeats, unsure as to whether to sneak in a crass joke as Hange’s eyes were shining—in a different tone compared to the bright-eyedness that showed whenever they made a new discovery. It was, what was it? Nostalgia? Levi is certain that Hange had never, of ten years being by their side, even hinted at a desire for a ring, for whatever reason they might yearn for the object.
Hange knows Levi is perturbed—suspicious, even. They know that such an ambiguously-worded question, simple as it was, will not warrant a straightforward answer from Levi. He is far too observant to not think of Hange’s line of questioning as uncharacteristic from the usual. The usual Hange will elaborate; they will give details. Perhaps this is a ring made from a special sort of metal to go undetected from metal sensors to sneak past the enemy and pass on valuable information etched in code on the inside, for example. Whatever reason that prompted Hange to take a sudden interest in rings wasn’t for battle, or for moral good, which frankly, is more embarrassing for them.
“Do you keep those patches with you?” Hange changes the topic. Levi blinks, then turns to the drawer and pulls the handle. The open drawer speaks for itself; filled with rows and rows of haphazardly torn patches of the Survey Corp’s uniform, the emblem of the wings of freedom.
“You keep it here, huh…” Hange muses, touching one patch tenderly, feeling the crusted blood stain at the tip of their finger.
“Do you remember who each patch belongs to?”
Levi shakes his head, not defending the lack of differentiation between the patches. To him, each patch is louder than a name attached to it. A fellow soldier whose heart he carried on within him.
“If I die, Levi, will you bring back my patch?”
“Don’t ask stupid questions.” Levi is quick to retort, sounding mildly irritated that Hange brought up the possibility of death.
“We all die someday.”
“We should think about how to stay alive,” Levi says firmly. “And what does any of this have to do with rings?”
Hange laughs, patting Levi on the shoulder affectionately. “You won’t let that go, huh?”
“It seems important,” Levi says, disgruntled. “You’re not usually so hesitant.”
“It’s not.” Hange waves their hands defensively, straightening up to avoid Levi’s gaze.
“What’s that in your pocket? Your hand keeps touching it.” Levi is sharp as ever, Hange thinks, itching to back out and tend to more important commander duties.
“Maybe next time! I have to go!” Hange brisk-walks out of the office, leaving Levi in the dust. He has the immediate urge to follow them, to grab their arm and ask what’s wrong, to force some kind of coherent understanding to this muddled conversation. Yet, he continues sitting on the chair, wondering if their mutual awkwardness had swept past them in the form of a lost opportunity. The patches flutter a little in the wind, as though asking him, what are you so afraid of?
He closes the drawer and sinks back onto the creaky, wooden chair, waiting for Hange to come back.
The next time he sees them again is when he’s so battered that his back trembles at the prospect of sitting on another hard surface. The series of negotiations, arguments, plans, fly past him in a whirlwind of decisions led by Hange. He occasionally spots the bulge in their side pocket, but his head is spinning with a million of other more dire worries to figure out what the hell is this unresolved mystery from months ago.
One night, as Hange tends to the bandages around his head, traces the stiches on his face, and mumbles quiet nothings about how they’re glad he’s alive, he finally lifts a shaky hand to point at the bulging pocket.
“Are you going to tell me what’s in that?”
“Nothing that will help us stop this mess,” Hange says, sweeping some of the fringe off his forehead to wipe the sweat underneath.
“But it’s important to you,” he states. Hange nods slowly.
“And you want to show it to me.” He tries, unaccustomed to the presumptuousness of his claim. But there is little time. If there was ever time before, now they were running on thin, cracked lines of time, teetering over the edge.
Hange sighs, and stuffs a reluctant hand into their pocket to bring out a small box.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t use the Scouts’ funds.”
“The Survey Corps doesn’t exist anymore,” Levi reminds them, to distract his mind from speculating endlessly about what’s in the box. He wants to sit up. Physically straining himself feels unwise, so he settles with tilting his head to get a clearer view of both Hange and the box.
Hange carefully holds his shoulders to sit him up, leaning him against them.
“I got rings for us.”
“Huh?”
The box is opened, and inside were two shining rings in silver and gold. Purple embellishment on the gold and green on silver. Not to mention it was heart-shaped rings. Levi feels his cheeks getting warmer by the second by its blatant implications, and is thankful that the bandages literally covered half his face.
“I know, I told them not to make it heart-shaped but you know when Reeves knew it was for you he said I had to make it obvious, whatever that meant,” Hange says quickly, snapping the box shut so as to save themselves from having to confront what was glaring at them.
“It’s not practical for fighting,” Levi murmurs, reaching out to take the box from Hange.
“Dedicate your hearts… wasn’t that what Erwin said?” Hange, always the one to inject light humour in tense situations, decides it will be alright to quote Erwin’s war cry in what is essentially a confession.
“Right.” Levi opens the box, looking expectantly at Hange.
“What?”
“Rings are for wearing, right?”
“You said they weren’t practical!”
“We’re not fighting now.”
Running their hands through their hair, Hange looks rather sheepish. “It’s a bit selfish but I just want to be remembered. As more than a patch.”
Levi frowns, bandages crinkling. “You think I’ll forget you?”
“I don’t know.”
“I won’t forget you. Ring or no ring.”
Upon hearing the seriousness of Levi’s voice, the light-heartedness returns to Hange, as they cheekily present the ring to them.
“Well then, will you dedicate your heart to me, shitty Captain?”
“Whatever, Four-eyes.” He says it as flippantly as he can, yet handles the ring like sudden movement will break it.
“Hah! I wonder what the kids will say about the rings…” Hange stretches out and lays beside Levi, admiring the ring on their hand amidst the backdrop of night stars. He takes their hand and weaves his fingers through it, placing their interlocked hands on his chest.
After the plane takes off, Levi’s eyes are trained on the floor. The plane rattles, swerves, and gains momentum. Everyone around him is emotional—rightly so, because their leader had said a fleeting goodbye before leaping to their death. He holds one hand in the other, feeling the cold metal on his finger. Rings don’t leave the smell of Hange’s skin when they lie their head on his shoulder after a long day. Rings don’t capture the sound of Hange’s laugh when they make friendly banter with their juniors, or when Levi makes the occasional, dry joke that only they pick up on. Rings don’t emulate the dialogue of their late-night discussions in his office, the tea that he makes and that they drink from the same cup—to save the time needed for washing, according to Hange. He doesn’t protest.
Still, the ring is all he has left. The one chance Hange had, they entrusted in him this ring. They could translate Levi’s words into more palpable versions for other people, but they could not for the life of them come up with words to express their more vulnerable feelings. For Hange, the ring was another chance to cement what remained unspoken: I hope you remember me. I’m here with you.
The last chance Levi had, he placed a fist on their heart.
“Dedicate your heart.” The ring flashes in the sunlight, making Hange blink back tears.
Now, he clutches one hand in the other.
“See you, Hange.” The ring stares back, patiently. He closes his eyes, bringing the thin, metal sentiment to his lips.
“Keep watching us.”
thank you for the prompt @djmarinizelablog !! ^_^
